Who would be the Audience for your media product?
I researched film magazines and found that ‘Total
Film’ would be the most appropriate publication to
feature a review for my film. I looked at other films
which they have reviewed and they feature articles
about films such as ‘Memento’ and ‘Inception’ which
both come from the same genre as my film. I think
that ‘Total Film’ is a very popular and distinguished
magazine so if it featured a review of my film, a huge
market would be able to read it. The advantage of
the review being shown in such a well known and
reputable magazine is purely that people will trust
the magazines opinions of the film. My film will have
a much better reputation if it was featured in a well
known magazine as people would expect them to
know what they are talking about and they would
not review a film if it wasn’t very good. ‘Total Film’
has reviewed most films I have heard of so if my film
was to be shown in their magazine it would show
their audience that my film would be worth
watching. The film would also get extra advertising when featured in a publication such as ‘Total
Film’ as people will read the article and then want to know more and want to experience the film for
themselves. Overall, I think that choosing a more well known and reputable publication, such as
‘Total Film’, would be good advertisement for my film as it gives people a review of how the film will
be and also gains peoples trust into watching the film as they know that ‘Total Film’ would not say a
film is good if they didn’t really believe that it is.
Possible Film Review:
After watching The Thicket, I can honestly say that if you’re looking for suspense, enigmas and
mystery, then this film is the one for you. Directed by Lauren Parker, renowned for previous films
such as ‘The Diary’ and ‘Clockwork’, already there is a certain amount of excitement for this film.
However this excitement is does not give this film justice. This film is a masterpiece.
Allie Hasler plays the antagonist and main character and that alone gives the film that extra
edge. People who have seen her in films such as ‘Dices’, ‘New Arrivals’ and ‘Get Ahead’, will
already know the level of acting and expertise and will automatically go to this film just to see a
repeat performance.
The director and cast work tremendously together to produce a thrilling, mysterious account of a
school girl murderer. But is she really the bad guy? Is there anyone pushing her, persuading her
to commit these crimes?
The more you see of this film, the more you appreciate its’ genius. It is definitely one to look out
for and guaranteed to shake your core.
