8. Codes and Conventions list: (covers)
-MASTHEAD: throughout all 3 covers that I researched I found that their mastheads were capitalised and dominating.
-COVER IMAGE: Most use just one single person in their image which I will do but there are some with group shots, added
images as well as the main cover image will also add interest to much a wider audience. All are posed images to provide that
professional photo look and helps audience to understand their representations due to the emotions being displayed on their
facial expressions
-SELL LINES: Provide additional information and don’t just talk about the main story which provides interest for all found that
they all were at the top of each cover
-TYPOGRAPHY: The colour choices are made to match the films genre or the tone the magazine is trying to portray
-LANUAGE: Mix of both formal and informal to appeal to a wide target audience
-SHOT TYPE: All 3 of the covers a picked to analysed have eye line shots suggested that they want to create some equality
between the front cover and the reader
-LAYOUT + DESIGN: Masthead in all covers is kept very visible so their brand can be easily identified Total Film tends to use much
more exciting and intense images resulting in maybe a younger target audience than the other two
