- Find a fiction book to read. As you are reading think about the theme/subject [the whole point of the story] and write it down. Is it about family? Relationships? Orphans, foster care? Death? Old age? Ghosts? What is the theme of the book.

- Students will receive a grade based on notes taken using the Fiction Elements organizer or one that has very similar elements they created. Each step will be modeled and practiced with much guidance. Students will keep work in folders and transfer some work to the PowerPoint as each step is edited and complete.
