This document describes a cross-cutting approach to improve symptom relief and enhance recovery for those with neurological injuries or chronic diseases through targeted vibroacoustics and stimulating movement. It explores how the body responds to vibro-acoustic frequencies based on an understanding of the sensational, biochemical and neuro-rhythmic response inherent in the human senso-motoric system. The proposed therapy aims to make the body structure more stable, improve sensory awareness, maximize limited movement options, and make movement more predictable. It involves socially-facilitated ambient acoustics and applies the latest understandings of empathetic ritual response and neural repair research to rehabilitation strategies. The goal is to ultimately change processes for restoring and enhancing function for those

FICCDAT June 2011 Abstract
1. ~Abstract~
Title: Enhanced Mind~Body Response with Targeted Vibroacoustics/Stimulating Movement
ID:59299 abstract to FICCDAT: Growing Old With Disability
Abstract Summary:
Cross-cutting contemporary approach to improve symptom relief, enhance recovery after neurological injury
or chronic disease condition and provide caregiver respite. Explores state-of-the-art understanding of the
sensational, biochemical and neuro-rhythmic response inherent in the senso-motoric system of every human
being in order to appreciate body response to vibro-acoustic frequencies.
Objective: A primary challenge for all persons (and their caregivers) with age-related neuro-motor deficits
include increased instability. Sensory awareness deficits also contribute a large component to movement
disorders and nervous system degradation. Bio-resonant Movement and Targeted VibroAcoustic Therapy:
1) make the body structure more stable, 2) allow for better "feel" for where the body is, 3) maximize limited
movement options, and 4) make movement more predictable.
Background: Cross-cutting contemporary approach to improve symptom relief, enhance recovery after
neurological injury or chronic disease condition and provide caregiver respite. Explores state-of-the-art
understanding of the sensational, biochemical and neuro-rhythmic response inherent in the senso-motoric
system of every human being in order to appreciate body response to vibro-acoustic frequencies.
Methods: A pathfinder neuro-muscular integration movement application that involves socially-facilitated
ambient acoustics to make the beneficial richness of therapeutic sound/music more accessible. These sensual
experiences interlace the latest understandings of empathetic ritual response with biomedical research on
neural repair and applications of rehabilitation strategies to improve symptom relief, enhance recovery after
neurological injury or chronic disease condition and provide caregiver respite. Ultimately, changing the
processes of restoring and enhancing function for persons with degraded nervous system response. Movement
is encouraged to align with Central Pattern Generation (CPG). Central Pattern Generators are the alignment
principles that start in the most primal area of the brain (the limbic system) and keep the body aware of
indigenous timing and physiological center. CPG's make our movement easier because they produce the neuro
-rhythms that network the organism structure and allow the least amount of energy to be applied for
movement.
Results: Increased unconscious ability to move in a stable way as a result of an integrated body and mind.
Conclusion: "Embodied" movement is achieved through a basic protocol that operates within the comfort
zone parameters of Central Pattern Generation.
