Social networks have around 2 billion internet users worldwide. Facebook has around 500 million users globally, with around half being active on a regular basis. Most Facebook users also have at least one other local social network account. Twitter and Facebook are in the top 25 websites that refer traffic to other sites, and in the top 10 referrers for most sites. Social networks are also influencing politics, with politicians and campaigns using platforms like Facebook and Twitter to engage with voters. However, privacy is a growing issue, as information shared publicly on social networks does not always mean users want that information to be widely publicized or distributed.

It found that news organizations posted more frequently on Twitter than Facebook, except for CNN. Facebook posts contained more evergreen, lifestyle, and soft news stories written by staff, while Twitter featured more spot news, disasters, politics, and hard news from wire services and links. Posts on the two platforms also differed in their geographic focus, with Twitter prioritizing more international stories and Facebook having more posts without a clear location. The findings suggest journalists act as gatekeepers by distributing different types of information on each social media site, which could influence audience perceptions.

While women are more active participants, they also take more precautions with privacy by having private profiles, defriending others, and deleting unwanted comments. Social media could help dismantle stereotypes about gender roles by providing a more accurate portrayal of women online.

Shouldn't Extension experts, members of an organization that has always prided itself on providing impartial research-based information, share a place at the table with the nation’s leading public intellectuals? We contend that establishing a core group of public intellectuals at both the state and national levels of discourse should be a core strategy in helping us separate our message from others in this enormously competitive information environment. As a moral obligation Extension educators at all levels have a responsibility, not only as scholars but as public servants, to help put highly complicated, even controversial issues, into sharper perspective on behalf of their clients with the goal of improving their lives. “…no scholar, historian or anyone else is — merely by being a scholar — ethically excused from their own circumstances. We are also participants in our own time and place and cannot retreat from it…” Extension educators are now struggling to navigate their way across an increasingly steep, jagged divide between techno-skeptics, who harbor a deep mistrust of technology and its long-term implications, and techies, who, despite some misgivings, generally believe that each technological advance ultimately works to secure a better life for all of us. There will be an increasing need for public intellectuals from many different disciplines within Extension to explain how this new farming model will be expressed and how it ultimately will affect them. This document summarizes a study investigating online communication and attitudes towards Islam within online communities. The study used grounded theory to analyze comments from various online forums, social media sites, and news articles. Three main themes emerged from the analysis: 1) the formation of and exclusion from online communities centered around anti-Islamic views, 2) the tendency for arguments across platforms to utilize multiple approaches to justify rejecting others' beliefs, and 3) how intelligence is used to justify rejecting Islamic beliefs and actions. A sub-theme found comments mirroring previous research that Muslims are often portrayed negatively in British media.

This document summarizes a study investigating online communication and attitudes towards Islam within online communities. The study used grounded theory to analyze comments from various online forums, social media sites, and news articles. Three main themes emerged from the analysis: 1) the formation of and exclusion from online communities centered around anti-Islamic views, 2) the tendency for arguments across platforms to utilize multiple approaches to justify rejecting others' beliefs, and 3) how intelligence is used to justify rejecting Islamic beliefs and actions. A sub-theme found comments mirroring previous research that Muslims are often portrayed negatively in British media.

Analysing these forms of communication are an increasing part of contemporary research. In addition, many of the tools and approaches are equally applicable to earlier periods in human history, a field collectively known as digital humanities.

significant role in maintaining the ecological equilibrium of our planet.Land serves as the foundation for all human activities and provides the necessary materials for
these activities. As the most crucial natural resource, its utilization by humans results in different
'Land uses,' which are determined by both human activities and the physical characteristics of the
land.
The utilization of land is impacted by human needs and environmental factors. In countries
like India, rapid population growth and the emphasis on extensive resource exploitation can lead
to significant land degradation, adversely affecting the region's land cover.
Therefore, human intervention has significantly influenced land use patterns over many
centuries, evolving its structure over time and space. In the present era, these changes have
accelerated due to factors such as agriculture and urbanization. Information regarding land use and
cover is essential for various planning and management tasks related to the Earth's surface,
providing crucial environmental data for scientific, resource management, policy purposes, and
diverse human activities.
Accurate understanding of land use and cover is imperative for the development planning
of any area. Consequently, a wide range of professionals, including earth system scientists, land
and water managers, and urban planners, are interested in obtaining data on land use and cover
