Federal Bank, earlier known as Travancore.
Federal Bank, was incorporated in 1931.
Though initially it was known as the Travancore
Federal Bank, it gradually transformed into a
full-fledged bank under the able leadership of
its Founder, K P Hormis
The name Federal Bank Limited was officially
announced in the year 1947

1965 - It acquired the St.George Union Bank in Puthenpally.
1968 - It acquired the Marthandom Commercial Bank in
Thiruvananthapuram.
2006 - It acquired Ganesh Bank of Maharashtra.
2008 - It entered into a joint venture with IDBI Bank and Fortis
Insurance International to form IDBI Fortis Life Insurance.
2010 - IDBI Fortis, rejuvenated as IDBI Federal Life Insurance with
Aegas of Belgium.
