CRUISE TERMINAL - Thesis research writingJasmine Sidhu
“Cruise terminal is a project with a long gestation period and revenue from terminal operation, when compared to the investment, may not be attractive. Considering this fact, we propose a mix of commercial activities together with the main business.”
This slide show is in conjunction with my design portfolio. This showcases my Thesis project as a cumulative example of the variation in acquired skills, and practices.
A cruise ship is a passenger used for pleasure voyages. Cruise ships are destinations in themselves With features and amenities comparable or superior to land-based resorts. Cruising is remarkably affordable and one can enjoy his/her dream vacations. Cruise tourism made its small beginnings in 1839 as part of the fortnightly crossing mail service between Liverpool and Boston.

The table above indicates that coverage area of Tg. Priok Port as a transit port is
strictly limited to the cruise ship transit time, i.e 8-10 hours. This limitation could be
significantly relaxed by implementing the Ministerial Decree released by the Minister
of Transportation No. 121 of 2015 on the Provision of Easy Access for Foreign Tourists
Using Foreign-flagged Cruise Ships. The decree include Tg. Priok Port as
embarkation/debarkation port (also known as turnaround port) along with Benoa
Port, Tg. Perak Port, Makassar Port, and Belawan Port. Once this decree takes effect,
tourists should have higher degree of freedom in organizing their itinerary. Hence,
widening Tg. Priok Port’s coverage area.
