FEAR BODY MAP
GOALS:
-To make their own fear body map for demonstrating where and how they feel
fear along their bodies.
-To talk about what colours do they connect to fear.
-To talk about what kind of emotion is fear, that it is both negative and
positive.
-To be aware about the importance of feeling fear for seccurity in current life.
-To promote self value and braveness when they realize that they can
overcome their fears, step by step, just facing them in a natural way.
- To share respectfully their main fears, and the ways they think they could
overcome them to feel seccure and calmed again.
-To develop creativity through modelling plasticine or through drawing and
colouring freely, depending on the course or age of the students, once they
decided what colours should represent better the fear emotion.
DESCRIPTION:
➡First step:
Teacher asks students what do they think about fear. If it is a positive or a
negative emotion. And why. Then, they discuss all together about how
positive is to fear some things or situation to be aware of some dangers, and
to be or become braver for overcoming them. When they learn about how to
be seccure and avoid dangers.
➡Second step:
Then we decide, talking, what colours would be representative of the fear
emotion.
➡Third step:
Each student thinks about their own fears, and those things or situations that
make them feel scared. Then, 2nd course students draw and write them
down in the picture of their fear body map, and 1st course students modellate
a human figure with plasticine in which they place some dark coloured
plastiline in those parts where they feel, personally, the fear when they are
scared, and in the way they feel it.
➡Fourth step:
They colour the pictures freely using different materials and colours but
bearing in mind the fear emotions.
1st course students varnish their figures and then put them in an exhibition.
➡Final step:
Finally they make (in the computer), print, colour and cut out the title letters,
that is, FEAR BODY MAP, which will be placed in the exhibition to take some
photos of the final task.
They feel so proud of the whole project work.
