Stephen Ezell presented on opportunities for enhancing transatlantic collaboration in innovation. He discussed different types of countries' innovation policies, labeling them as "good, bad, and ugly". He recommended that policymakers distinguish between these policy types and that the goal of economic policy should be to encourage innovation and productivity rather than export-led growth. He also suggested revamping international organizations, creating a trans-atlantic trade partnership, and a global science and innovation foundation to support collaborative research.
