Peru is located on the West Central Coast of
South America. It is bordered by the Pacific
Ocean to the west, by Chile to the south, by
Bolivia and Brazil to the east, and by Colombia
and Ecuador to the north.
With a total land area of 1,285,215.60 km2, Peru
is the third largest country in South America
after Brazil and Argentine.
Peru also has rich deposits of Copper, Silver,
Gold, Lead, Zinc, Natural Gas, Petroleum and
Urea. Owing to climate variations in its regions,
as well as its natural and cultural resources, it
is internationally classified as a mega-diverse
country.
Peru has a population of 30.9 million people
(75.7 Urban and 24.3 Rural) and for the last 10
years the Peruvian economy is booming.
Forecasts for 2015 are extremely positive and
predict a strong economy with a growth rate of
5.9%.
According to the International Monetary Fund
(IMF), Peru is considered a rising star that
is part of the new wave of leading emerging
markets, and today has solid fundamentals, a
framework of sensible policies, and a prudent
macroeconomic approach, all of which enables
it to enjoy sustained growth and reduced
vulnerability.
Peru still remains one of the Latin America countries with the lowest inflation rate.

3. Expo Pesca & AcuiPeru is the largest Latin
America Trade Fair to promote the Sale of
Equipment, Services and Boats for Fisheries &
Aquaculture organized in Peru every two years
since 2003.
The Visitors of Expo Pesca & AcuiPeru are
first-level Busimessmen of Fisheries and
Aquaculture companies of Peru and Latin
America, as well as Importers.
Peru is the number one exporter of Fishmeal
in the world and has a generally open market.
There are no barriers or limitations on imports
and foreign currency is freely exchanged.
Import of Equipment for Fisheries and
Aquaculture is subject to the payment of Import
Duties plus 18 percent General Sales Tax (IGV).
However, the samples for exhibition in this event
can be temporarily imported into Peru without
paying import duties or without presenting Bank
Drafts.
A Technical Seminar Program will be held during
the frame of Expo Pesca & AcuiPeru and it is
addressed to Directors, Managers, Assistant
Managers, Supervisors and specialized
personnel of the industry of Fisheries and
Aquaculture.
It is expected around 9,500 visitors and more
than 350 Exhibitors.
6th Expo Pesca 2013
The sixth version of the International Fair “Expo Pesca & AcuiPeru”, was held on November 07-09,
2013. There were 278 Exhibitors (198 National and 80 Foreign). According to the written surveys
of Exhibitors, sales off the floor were US$ 8’540,780 during the three-day event and US$ 53’25,000
projected for the coming 12 months.
About 9,330 persons visited the exhibition who came from Argentine, Austria, Belgium, Belice,
Bolivia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, China, Colombia, Denmark, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, France,
Guatemala, Germany, Spain, Trinidad & Tobago, Turkey, U.K., U.S.A., Uruguay and Venezuela.
