The IB Middle Years Programme
•The MYP is a five-year programme, that encourages students to make
practical connections between their studies and the real world. The
result is young people who are creative, critical and reflective thinkers.
•The MYP builds on the knowledge, skills and attitudes developed by
the PYP.
•Students who complete the MYP are well-prepared to undertake the IB
Diploma Programme (DP) or the IB Career Related Programme (CP).

● All subject groups have 4 criteria (A,B,C and D) with 9 levels of
achievement (0-8).
● They generally represent limited (1–2); adequate (3–4);
substantial (5–6); and excellent (7–8) performance.
● Each band has its own unique descriptor that teachers use to
make “best-fit” judgments about students’ progress and
achievement.
