Chief Financial Offer
A leading financial technology company insuring private student loans
Tatum was engaged to identify an experienced CFO with strong leadership qualities
and comprehensive experience in capital markets, insurance and statutory accounting
to be based at their corporate headquarters in a city in the Great Plains region.
Tatum Executive Search developed a comprehensive 120-day search plan, which
started with establishing a thorough understanding of the company, its culture, and
the headquarters city. We defined expectations by meeting with the Board and all
senior-level stakeholders. We also looked at city real estate and met with the Mayor
so that we could effectively present all aspects of the opportunity and location to
prospective candidates. As a result of establishing such a complete understanding of
the position, we were able to develop four strong finalist candidates, to which the
CEO said, “Any of these guys would make a great CFO for us.” Their eventual choice
had a strong background in capital markets and insurance, and he spent his career
in New York, London and San Francisco, but grew up in a small town and found the
headquarters city very appealing.
Director, Compliance & Internal Audit
Non-Profit Community-Based Health Delivery System
Tatum was engaged to identify qualified candidates to fill the client’s SVP/Executive
Director, Corporate Compliance & Internal Audit position, which had been open for
over a year despite the efforts of multiple contingent search firms.
Tatum successfully filled the role in under 90 days after: establishing a specific and
detailed search plan, acquiring a deep understanding of the health system, its culture
and challenges, defining the expectations of all key stakeholders, collaborating with
the client to make the position more attractive, and broadening the search to a
national effort.
