Introduction
• Ministry of Health, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and
College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan have
agreed to cooperate in the field of healthcare.
• Pursuant to the applicable laws of the two
countries and in accordance with the Joint Saudi –
Pakistani Committee, both have agreed to utilize
the Partial Contracting Mechanisms in respect of
highly qualified consultant doctors associated with
the College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan, to
work for short periods in the Saudi Ministry of
Health hospitals.
Eligibility
• The Executive Program for Cooperation requires
the applicant should be a consultant in the
specialty and have SEVEN (7) years experience in
the clinical and educational field ( with a
designation not less than that of Assistant
Professor).
• The Specialist Consultants selected for the
program in Saudi Arabia will be under the
Program of Provisional Medical Support (for
Consultant doctors) and under Temporary Part
Time Contract for a period of 3 months .
Role of CPSP
• CPSP as the best running postgraduate
medical institute of Pakistan and provider of
90% specialist doctors workforce in Pakistan is
also considered a prestigious body abroad for
the induction of highly specialized Consultant/
Specialists.
• MOH Saudi Arabia, Ireland, Kuwait are in
exchange programs with CPSP currently.
Role of MOH Saudi Arabia
• Saudi MOH despite being having opportunity
of induction from many parts of world prefers
induction from Pakistan and certification from
CPSP at par with doctoral degrees from other
countries for appointment as Consultant.
• Recent data from MOH also reveals that
Pakistani consultants are one of the least
involved in cases of medical negligence.
