Example Of Colonialism In Viajero
I. Introduction Viajero, a novel written by F. Sionil Jose, is a story of talks about a dreamer's journey
towards knowing and understanding himself. Viajero also tackled the history of the Philippines and
the behavior of Filipinos before the arrival of the Spaniards. The lead character of Viajero was an
orphan named Salvador "Badong" dela Raza (a Spanish phrase meaning "Saviour of the Race"). He
became an orphan when his parent had died from the war. He was found by a native called Apo Tale
and was brought to his house, where his deaf–mute daughter, Mayang, was waiting. There, Badong
was being cared of by Mayang. Unfortunately, six men with guns barged in to their household. He
was so afraid of the incident that he immediately ran off to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Said discusses three main ideas in the decolonizing cultural resistance: (1) the concept of national
language; (2) resistance as an alternative way of conceiving human history; and (3) a noticeable pull
away from separatist nationalism toward a more integrative view of human community and human
liberation (pp. 215–216). Roxas–Tope (1998) wrote that the proponents of nationalism in the
Philippines during the 1960s thought that it was necessary to require the writing of Philippine
history by a Filipino and from the point of view of the Filipino, but when these works were
published "they became textbooks, the repository of historical truths and canonical interpretations of
the past" (p. 24); an act that can be considered as walking the fine line of the concept of Grand
Narrative that both postcolonial and postmodern schools of thought question. In the same line,
Zialcita (2005) questioned the overly nationalistic approach to the (re)writing of history because it
highlights only the "Spanish state as the enemy of democrats and nationalists by the late nineteenth
century" and leaves out "the Spanish state that brought in symbols, values, and an organization
whose unforeseen consequence was an expanded sense of community where notions of democracy
and nationalism germinated" (p. 65). Zialcita also observed this need to frame the definition of

The Power of Love in Sonnets by Petrarch Surrey and Wyatt
The Power of Love in Sonnets by Petrarch, Surrey and Wyatt
Francesco Petrarch, Sir Thomas Wyatt and Henry Howard, the Earl of Surrey were three of the
greatest poets in history. They were truly visionaries in their work and with their origination of the
sonnet, they crafted poems of love in all its incredible forms. With these poets, we are able to see
how the sonnet evolved into the form popularized by Shakespeare and even how it still influences
the modern poetry of today. Petrarch, known as the "Father of Humanism," first wrote the Italian
sonnet during the 14th century. Wyatt and Surrey, who lived and were close friends during the
tumultuous reign of Henry VIII in England, composed respective translations of some of Petrarch 's

There is no respect or admiration Surrey feels for Love as he is dying and he resents his own
powerlessness to be released from Love 's hold: "For my lord 's guilt thus faultless bide I pain, yet
from my lord shall not my foot remove: Sweet is the death that taketh end by love." Yet despite his
resentment, he remains with Love and in the final two lines of the sonnet, he changes Petrarch 's
question into a statement that dying by love is a sweet death. In Wyatt 's translation of Petrarch 's
Rima 140, love has no authority over the poet but instead seems to be a visitor, who has only been
allowed at the poet 's invitation. His translation is truer to the original than Surrey 's translation of
the sonnet, except there is no image of the conquering knight. In the first stanza, he writes: "The
long love that in my thought doth harbor, and in mine heart doth keep his residence, into my face
presseth with bold pretense and therein campeth, spreading his banner." Wyatt shelters Love in his
thought and allows it to stay temporarily in his heart, but the poet remains in control. For Wyatt,
Love does not "live" or "reign" nor is

The Great Gatsby Social Class Essay
'Social class is the deciding factor in all loving relationships'. To what extent is this the case in The
Great Ga tsby and two to three of the poems that you have studied.
In loving relationships in The Great Gatsby, Who So List to Hount (hereafter Who So) and The Flea,
the consort with the highest social status is shown to be dominant over their partner. This classist
imbalance means that these relationships seem not only likely to fail, but destined to fail and,
ultimately, it is then social class which determines whether the relationship will succeed. This essay
will explore this idea with reference to the death of Myrtle, the power of King Henry VIII, the
precariousness of Gatsby's wealth and a possible feminist reading of Donne's The Flea.
When Myrtle is hit by the yellow car ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Seeing as Tom's descriptions are also of his "cruel body", it can be said that their relationship is,
from the offset, based on lust, rather than love. Social class is not shown to play a part in lustful
relationships, even if it is a deciding factor in loving relationships, because Myrtle and Tom are
shown to be equal in terms of their sexuality.
Interclass relationships are invariably inhibited by social class in The Great Gatsby, Who So and The
Flea; however, this cannot be called the "defining factor" in these relationships because, whilst it is
necessarily considered by each writer, the love of the lovers does not change due to social class,
only the fate of said relationships. Then again, it must be remembered that each of the characters
focused on have been defined as the person of the lower social class in the relationship. Whilst these
individuals may continue to love their higher class partners, their partner may not reciprocate this
feeling. Indeed, despite Gatsby's intense love for Daisy –– so great that Gatsby builds his identity,
wealth and house in her name, Daisy remains indifferent towards him and, following her death,

Poetry Analysis – Whoso List to Hunt
Poetry Analysis – Whoso List To Hunt
"Whoso List To Hunt" is a Petrarchan sonnet by Thomas Wyatt, which is known as an Italian sonnet,
consisting of an octave and a sestet. This sonnet revolves around the themes of unrequited love,
sexism, complexity, obsession and passion. Wyatt uses a collection of poetic techniques within the
sonnet in order to display the power and desire the man has for the woman.
The structure of this sonnet corresponds to a Petrarchan sonnet. This is identified by the rhyming
scheme "abba abba cde cde". The sonnet is constructed by an octave, which are two quatrains
combined then a sestet following after that.
"Whoso List To Hunt" was based in the English Renaissance period during the late 15th century to

The poet in lines 5–6 cannot take his fatigued mind off the 'deer' as she continues to flee. "my
wearied mind Draw from the deer, but as she fleeth afore,". These lines signify his 'obsession' of
possessing his prey. The use of the poetic term 'consonance', repetitions of non–vowel sounds, in
line 6, "Draw from the deer" expresses the reoccurring longing desire and passion for the deer
(woman). Another instance in which consonances are used, "as she fleeth afore, Fainting I follow. I
leave off therefore". In this line there is an unremitting repetition of the letter "F" which gives a
great indication that the hunter is out of breath and exhausted. When she flees, it quotes, "fainting I
follow". He can only barely catch up to the wind that follows behind her, so he realises here that the
chase is futile. He apprehends the fact that the deer is not welcoming his affection, which refers back
to the theme of "unrequited love". Wyatt in addition introduces a second 'metaphor', "wind" in which
he uses to describe the woman. The "wind" symbolises agility, freedom and is impossible to capture.
The first octave makes out that this was all a wasted hunt, and that the poet is officially
unsuccessful.
In the closing sestet, the hunter addresses the other suitors who are determined to capture her that
they have absolutely no chance and warns them that they'll suffer deep consequences if

The 's Expulsion Of Adam And Eve From Eden
Humanity as depicted by artists reflects the values of a society. Different ages have held different
perspectives on humanity. These varying perspectives are displayed through the creation of each
artist, writer, and composer. An era is described by what is produced in it; therefore, the ideas about
humanity displayed in each piece of artwork are the same ideas that shaped a particular era. By
examining components of the various pieces produced in an era, one can determine the majority
view of humanity during that time and trace the shifts in society's perspective. As time has
progressed, art transformed from having specific moral meaning to having purely subjective
meaning. During the Renaissance, art focused on biblical scenes portraying Christian ideals. While
this is nothing unusual, it is key in determining what values people in that era appreciated. The
theme that begins to emerge in the early Renaissance is the psychological state of the people
depicted. Masaccio's Expulsion of Adam and Eve from Eden is one of the earlier examples. The
couple is clearly distraught and ashamed of their sin as they trudge out of the garden. Brunelleschi
and Ghiberti also follow this idea in their works by the same name, The Sacrifice of Isaac. Both
sculptors' characters convey varying emotions of this sacrifice through position and expression.
Masaccio's The Holy Trinity depicts the pain and agony at the cross with an emphasis on Jesus
instead of Mary.

Art Analysis: Lik Like Holbein
1: First Reaction (100) words
The first time I looked at the painting, I immediately noticed how vintage the dress of the two
ambassadors look. Two undoubtedly richly dressed people, the French ambassador to London Jean
de Danteville and the French envoy to Venice, the bishop Georges de Selv. Also, my gaze did not
pass by the rack of cluttered with a multitude of objects from different spheres of life. According to
Wikipedia, "they hint at their religious, intellectual and artistic interests." However, to be completely
frank, I must admit that looking at the picture for the first time I did not notice a "hidden" deformed
skull. And only after examining it, he fell into the field of my vision.
Personally, I really liked this picture, but in the combination of colors and shapes of objects. There is
something ancient and mystical in it, you can even say "sands of time". This inexplicable mystery
attracts me, and especially the presence of a hidden "message" in such a vivid place. Looking at this
picture, I immerse myself in the atmosphere of the Renaissance. After the 1517 formation, a new
worldview influenced the cultural and artistic life of Europe – the artists were no longer bound by
the religious framework, the themes of the works expanded and mutated. ... Show more content on

There can not be two identical pictures, of course. However, it seems to me that another work by
Hans Holbein "Noli me Tangere" is a bit like the picture I described "Ambassadors". There is the
same composition consisting of two main figs – a double portrait. A double portrait is considered
one of the most complex genres, its specificity is that "here there is no single center for spectator
attention, people's figures complement each other with the help of objects, which in turn create a
symbolic thread of the work," according to

" That from mean to great fortune, people rise rather by fraud, than by force." These "fortunes" are
all those causes of historical change that are beyond the deliberate, rational control of men.
People became so involved questioning the principles of Machiavelli's prince that they do not
realize that effectiveness of power is more important than the morality of the principle. For this
reason, Machiavelli was considered to be the devil incarnate when he wrote The Prince. The term
Machiavellian, was born after publishing the book during the Elizabethan era, symbolizing a leader
marked with cruelty and ruthlessness. The Machiavellian tactic is the acting in accordance with the
principles of government, in which politics is placed before morality or power over values. The
tactic involves use of deceit to maintain authority and carry out the policies of a ruler. From The
Prince, Machiavelli was explaining how people struggle for power and authority. Machiavelli got
the idea during the military scandal in 1499, from his first diplomatic mission to France (1500), and
from his acquaintance with Cesare Borgia (1502).
Machiavelli influenced the court of the king, and King Henry VIII himself during his reigning years,
by using Machiavellian scheming. King Henry VIII made some compromise to public response by
canceling some of the financial obligations of those who had been subjected to extortion in the
interest of the public during the

The first section deals with principalities ("monarchies"), of which according to Machiavelli there
are four types. First is the hereditary principality, which is traditionally under the control of a ruler's
family and their descendants. The second type of principality is called the mixed principality, where
the hereditary is considered with newly conquered territories. Next, the principality acquired by new
people where the territory of another is acquired by force, through someone else (for example as a
gift from a king), through a crime or cruelty of the inheritor, or through the favor of the prince's
fellow people. Lastly, the principalities of Ecclesiastical, which it can only be obtain through good
fortune or virtue because this is sustained by the religious ordinance.
The second section of The Prince deals with military, it was discussed how a principality can
prepare itself militarily. There are four types of armies that can be employed: the mercenaries, the
auxiliaries, the nationals, and the mixed armies. The mercenaries and auxiliaries were said to be
"useless and dangerous". Mercenaries will fight but are not willing to die for their ruler, while the
auxiliaries will act as either an offense or defense. The nationals, also known as natives, serves as
the best fighting force since they are fighting for their homeland.

The Poetry of Sir Thomas Wyatt
Sir Thomas Wyatt was born in the year 1503. The son of Sir Henry Wyatt and Anne Skinner, he
went on to attend St. John's College in Cambridge. He first took a place in the court of King Henry
VIII in 1516. In the year 1520 he was married to Elizabeth Brooke at the age of seventeen. His son,
of the same name, was born in the year 1521. Wyatt's marriage to Elizabeth was miserable and the
couple is believed to have been "estranged by the second half of the 1520s" (Burrow). Thomas
Wyatt and Elizabeth Brooke were separated in 1525 when Wyatt accused his wife of adultery. Much
of Sir Thomas Wyatt's poetry is reflective of his love life. His personal relationships served as
inspiration for a notable amount of his work. In his poem "Blame not my ... Show more content on

The poem can be seen as a parable relating to Anne's relationship with Henry VIII. When Wyatt
speaks of the deer as the possession of the sovereign, not to be pursued by others, he is accepting
that Anne has been reserved for the king alone. Wyatt would have been forced to withdraw as a
suitor after the King had shown interest in her. This is made evident when Wyatt says: "I leave off,
therefore, / Since in a net I seek to hold the wind" (7–8). He realizes the impossibility of being with
Anne. It is a clever description of Henry's possessiveness and Wyatt's disappointment and feelings
of helplessness under the circumstances.
In 1536, Anne Boleyn was charged with adultery. Thomas Wyatt, along with four others accused of
being romantically linked to the queen, were imprisoned. It was widely believed that Wyatt was
indeed her lover. Another lyricist, Mark Smeaton, was among the accused in the same year so this
suggests "that the queen had a circle of lyrists close enough to her to make a king claim that her
intimacy with these men was sexual" (Burrows). However, Wyatt was released shortly after while
the other accused lovers along with the queen were executed.
Anne's death and his imprisonment are said to have changed him. When he was released "[t]he

Life Milestones : My Life Compared To A Travel Book
My life can be compared to a travel book. It is full of pages and chapters about places and
significant milestones that took me to where I am right now. Some chapters are similar to festivals in
Spain and some can be compared to the depressing, dirty and chaotic streets of Manila. This paper
will focus on life milestones that made a significant impact towards my literary development. It will
showcase important moments of my childhood, prepubescent and young adult life that will have an
effect towards my future as a teacher. The first pages began to unfold Christmas day of 1993 and I
was three years old. My mother has gifted me the first book I have remembered reading. The cover
is a shade of baby pink with animals and beautiful flowers in the cover. It was heavy and the smell
of the brand–new book lingered my room for days. It was such an experience! It is full of colorful
illustrations that made it seem like the drawings were jumping out of the page and were alive. It was
exhilarating! Every night my mother's voice takes a different persona as she reads the different
characters in the book. Her animated expressions gave life to characters such as the Cinderella, Red
Riding hood, Snow White, and Belle. I looked forward to reading rather than seeing it as a chore or
as an exercise. As I grew a little older, she started reading the pink book with me rather than just to
me. It started from sounding letters and soon enough I am forming my first worlds. Eventually, she

the restoration of the Metropolitan Theatre? Why is MET considered as a cultural heritage? Those

Petrarch and Wyatt Compared Essay
In the world of poetry, imitation occurs at every turn. Many poets will take an original form of
poetry and copy the style. This can be said about Sir Thomas Wyatt who attempts to mimic
Petrarch's form; when the symbols, tone, images, rhyme, and setting in Wyatt's poem "Whoso list to
hunt" are compared to Petrarch's Rime 190 it becomes apparent that he failed to embody the essence
of Petrarch in his writing. Symbolism plays a large role in most poems. "A pure–white doe in an
emerald glade/Appeared to me, with two antlers of gold" (Petrarch lines 1–2) is a perfect example of
symbolism is poetry. Petrarch is not actually talking about a white deer with golden antlers, he's
talking about a beautiful woman with golden hair. Wyatt also uses ... Show more content on

I may no more" shows Wyatt's sexual desire for this woman and his disappointment in her
unavailability to him. Petrarch's woman is a pure and beautiful woman while Wyatt's is a sexy,
impure temptress. Another aspect Wyatt did not compare to Petrarch is visual imagery. Petrarch has
a very beautiful way of using visual images which he proves with the lines one through four: "A
snow white doe in an emerald glade/To me appeared, with antlers soft of gold,/And leapt two
streams, under a laurel's shade,/Near sunrise, in the winter's bitter cold." (Petrarch lines 1–4). The
closest visual image in Wyatt's version is "And graven in diamonds in letters plain" (Wyatt line 11)
which is still very far away from being good visual imagery. Rhyme is a defining point of Petrarch's
poetry with a rhyme scheme of abba abba cde cde. Wyatt kept the rhyme scheme of the octave but
changed the sestet to cdd cee. "There is written, her fair neck round about,/Noli me tangere, for
Caesar's I am,/And wild to hold, though I seem tame." (Wyatt line 12–14) is an example of the
changed rhyme scheme. Wyatt also resorted to eye–rhyme which is also shown in the quotation for
the words am and tame. Petrarch's poems held firm to the original rhyme scheme of abba abba cde
cde and each rhyme is a complete rhyme rather than Wyatt's lazy eye–rhyming. Petrarch's rhyme

Example Of Demythologizing Rizal
Demythologizing Rizal Whether you are discussing your neighbor, your foe, a government official
or somebody who lived 200 years prior, sex never neglects to catch individuals' attention and
imagination. In spite of a few affirmations about Adolf Hitler's personal life, people still insist about
the gossip that he was an illegitimate son of Klara Polzl and Jose Rizal when Rizal visited Linz in
1887. Individuals attempted to elaborate on the sexual experiences of previous presidents or our
heroes. Many inquired as to whether Andres Bonifacio's dowager, Gregoria de Jesus, was truly
raped by Colonel Agapito Bonzon when they were in imprisonment, or whether without a doubt
General Antonio Luna's better half truly was a presidential progenitor named Isidra Cojuangco. At
whatever point there is negative information around a hero, it is dependably seen as tattles paying
little heed to the documentation. Perhaps this is a method for adapting, on the grounds that our

Metropolitan Museum Of Art Analysis
This paper will analyze the iconography of two medieval works from the collection of the
Metropolitan Museum of Art. Both of them depict the appearance of the resurrected Jesus Christ to
his follower Mary Magdalene (Gospel of John 20:11–17). According to the Bible, three days after
Christ died by crucifixion and was buried, he was resurrected. On that day, Mary Magdalene came
to his tomb early in the morning, alone, and found the tomb empty. As she was weeping in the
garden outside the tomb, she recognized a man she thought was a gardener, and asked him what had
become of Jesus' body. When the man spoke her name, Mary Magdalene recognized that he was
Jesus Christ, who had been resurrected. As she reached out to embrace Jesus, he motioned for her to
stay back, saying "Do not touch me," because he had not yet ascended into heaven. ... Show more

The tapestry was woven of wool, silk, and gilt–metal wrapped thread between 1500 and 1520 CE. It
presents Jesus standing just right of center, in front of a large fruit tree, with Mary Magdalene
kneeling to his right. Because Mary and Jesus are centered horizontally in the composition, and they
are both large (between 2 and 3 feet tall), the viewer can determine that they are the primary subjects
in the tapestry. Christ is wearing a red robe, and the wounds on his hands and feet from where he
was nailed to the cross are visible. These signs identify the figure as Christ, indicating his mortality
and recent death. He is holding a shovel in his left hand, which explains Mary's mistake in
identifying him as a gardener. Behind Jesus, in the upper right corner of the tapestry, is a small cliff
with an open cave and a boulder sitting in front of it. This cave represents Jesus'

Finding Nouf: Saudi Arabian Culture
Teanna Hayes Professor Brockman English 2030 3 December 2014 Finding Nouf is considered an
entirely enjoyable debut mystery. In Finding Nouf, the writer of this captivating novel; Zoë Ferraris,
shows readers an enthralling glimpse of the Saudi Arabian world. In reading Fnding Nouf, readers
engage in a thrilling story while also learning about the Saudi Arabian culture. Finding Nouf reveals
many different aspects of the Saudi Arabian culture. Reading this novel encourages readers to step
out of their American mindsets, and social norms, and have a different perspective. Although
Finding Nouf is a mystery, it is safe to say that the book is really about the Muslim culture. Finding
Nouf readers learn about Muslim beliefs, while assimilating things from the way Muslim's think to
the way Americans and Muslims depict one ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For instance, the religious differences. In Finding Nouf, readers find that Nayir is a pious man and
faithful to his God and his religious beliefs. This is shown throughout the whole entire novel. Nayir
would ask for forgiveness for something as simple as thinking about a woman in what he considered
a lustful way, "Allah forgive me for imagining her ankles" (Ferraris 2). Now, in the American
culture, something as simple as thinking of the opposite sex's ankles is considered to be fine whereas
Nayir thought of it as completely wrong. The Muslim culture seems to take religion to a higher level
compared to the American culture. It even goes as far has having a religious polices or vigilantes
because the "establishment of religion is sacred to their law and their society" (Federspiel). In the
American society, of course, there is religion. However, Americans are more open minded about
religion. There are some people apart of the American society that do not even believe in religion.
While in the Muslim culture that is something that is probably unheard

The Mega Star Generation
The Mega Star Generation By: Desert, Apocalypse "A man may die but his ideas and thoughts
forever live and remain indelible imprints of time". Who si Rizal? Every Filipino who at least have
been to school, or is celebrating the commemoration of his death and someone received a formal
education could answer this for sure with "Our national hero". But beyond being a hero, do we
really know this guy or what is his statue's worth in Luneta? Was he really that god–like during his
entire life, that some ignorant and uneducated people in our generation worship him as a God? Sad
to say that, in our modern time today, people have very limited knowledge about our national hero.
The facts above are the only two things most of us know about Jose Rizal (Rizal Statue and
Holiday) but for historians and experts; they have so much adjectives to connect with our national
hero. Many would not care, but there are really some who go beyond what have been taught in
school and study every loop holes about Rizal and even question his being a hero, just like the
brains behind the film "Bayaning Third World". Rizal is known by most of us is our national hero
but nonetheless he is of human nature. He is subjected to biases, human errors, irrational thinking.
Less people know Rizal's "dark side"– controversies, I myself were one of those before I watched
this film. We were focused on his good side, his achievements and contributions for the betterment
of our country but having the chance to know

Power In The Prince And The Pauper
Power. Everybody wants it, few have it. But what does it mean to have power, that is to say true
power? What sacrifices must be made? What hard decisions would need decided? Sadly, our current
society doesn't respect power that much anymore, not at all like it used to be. In the novel, power is
much more respected. In that time, if the King said something, it happened, no protests, no second
thought. Nowadays, apparently if you don't agree with a leader you don't have to recognize their use
of their power. Mark Twain's "The Prince and the Pauper" teaches about power and what true power
is. The chosen paragraph is important because it shows that as King, Tom has tremendous power,
even to condemn people to death. "Take him away–he hath earned

Potassium Sorbate and Kamantigue Leaves Crude Extract...
CHAPTER I
INTRODUCTION
Background of the Study Banana is a popular fruit. It's easy to peel, easy to eat, and easy to find,
typically located in a prominent spot in the produce section of a grocery store. With the wheels of
the grocery cart still moving, we don't stop to think about the battles the banana grower had to fight
to provide a perfect fruit for our convenient consumption. Fusarium wilt or Panama disease is a
severe disease of banana plants caused by the fungus Fusarium oxysporum f.sp. cubense. This
disease kills susceptible banana plants and there is no cure up to this time and can wipe out entire
plantations and neighboring areas if control and containment is not properly managed. The disease is
spread by infected planting ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Ritual Core Of Fascist Theatre
Fascism and Rituals : History has revealed a close connection between theatrical presentation of
rituals and dictatorial politics. Rituals are acts which are meant to connect to the very core of the
human soul , the centre of his most elementary being . Naturally , any fascist dictatorial politics tries
to exploit rituals as a mass–medium to perpetuate it's ideology. A fascist regime consolidates its
authority not only by military power but also by popular consensus and use of ritualistic theatre
plays a major role in manufacturing consensus. Gunter Berghaus in his essay "The Ritual Core of

However, the men's "standing erect" does not negate their inferior status compared to the leader.
Their physical strength will just be exploited by perpetrators of the cult to subdue any political
opposition. In a word, they will be made to act as pawns in the dictatorial venture of Ramon and
Cipriano. As women cannot provide that manpower they are unnecessary and "may sit". In this
context, Ramon's indifferent attitude towards his wife, Carlota should be noted when she, being a
devout Christian, frenziedly opposes consecration ceremony of Quetzalcoatl inside the previously
Christian Church. Ramon's indifferent attitude towards Carlota is both a rejection of her womanhood
as well as her different religious faith thereby reconfirming the alignment between patriarchy and
dictatorial politics in Lawrence's ideology of that time. Kate being a woman herself quickly fathoms

Filipino Nationalism : A Step Stone
Filipino Nationalism: A Stepping Stone to Independence The Philippines is a small archipelago
located in Southeast Asia, which has been conquered and controlled by many different and more
powerful countries such as Spain, Japan, and the United States. It was under Spanish colonial rule
for more than three centuries. Spanish colonization began when, Miguel Lopez de Legazpi, a
Spanish voyager, disembarked in the Philippines in 1565 (Schumacher 1). This was the beginning of
centuries of unethical treatments and inferiority of Filipinos. At first, the natives of the Philippines
accepted the conquest and lived by the Spaniards' rules. During the first few decades of Spanish
colonialism, the Philippines was not their main priority so the natives ... Show more content on

Because of this problem of inferiority, it is important to question, how did Filipino nationalism
contribute to the gain of Filipino independence towards more powerful countries, particularly Spain,
in the 1800s? Certain activists led movements in order to unite the Filipino people; they called
themselves nationalists. The determination of the Filipino people to participate in non–violent
revolts against higher and controlling powers rooted from their propaganda activism, which further
helped them to gain Philippine independence, and at the same time united the Filipino people. Due
to the determination presented by the Filipinos, the Spaniards allowed them to govern their own
country. One of the first instances that demonstrate the Spaniards' inferior view of the locals in the
Philippines was regarding Filipino friars and how the Spanish priests treated them. These friars were
the first natives to show nationalism for the Philippines by claiming equality and showing loyalty to
their country. Filipino priests felt controlled by the Spaniards and wanted to change how they were
being treated. The three priests, Mariano Gomez, Jacinto Zamora, and Jose Burgos, did not commit
any crimes, yet the Spaniards executed them to show that they still hold power, and that they have
control over the religious sector of the Philippines. Gomez, Burgos, and Zamora were executed in

Analysis Of The Joys And Sorrows Of Mary
The museum that I visited was the Museum of Fine Arts in St. Petersburg, Florida. The artwork I
viewed was titled, The Joys and Sorrows of Mary (Life of Christ) and this art piece was created
around 1375 to 1400
The artwork, The Joys and Sorrows of Mary (Life of Christ), was created in Late Gothic period.
I am comparing The Joys and Sorrows of Mary and the Sarcophagus of Junius Bassus
Organization:
In The Joys and Sorrows of Mary diptych, the author utilizes gothic style, with lancet windows,
pointed arches, and also seemed to be going for corinthian type columns. The author organized the
art piece in a realistic, natural way, paying close attention to detail, and carving the art in high relief,
allowing people to see the art scenes from a distance. The facial expressions are simple, kind, and
the body language is subtle. The Virgin Mary also stands in "Gothic S–curve" stance in the
Annunciation, where her movement is smooth and continuous, and her weight is shifted toward her
right side (Anonymous). The lower four scenes represent the Annunciation, Visitation, Nativity, and
Adoration of the Magi. The upper scenes represent Noli me tangere ("touch me not"), the
Crucifixion, Presentation in the Temple, and the Coronation of the Virgin (Anonymous). In the
Sarcophagus of Junius Bassus, the artist combined Roman and Christian characteristics to represent
Junius Bassus' conversion from Paganism to Christianity. The sarcophagus has different biblical
scenes carved in high

The Reformation : The Beliefs Of The Protestant Reformation
The Protestant Reformation was a time of separation and awareness. It marked a shift in ideas, art,
and beliefs mostly in Germany. The Protestant Reformation began in the 16th century after the
people of Europe grown distrustful of the Roman catholic church. The morality of the church had
died out with time. The papacy had made it clear that it had control over all estates and all people.
This included kings and those who were wealthy. People could buy services from a priest, which
included the clergy reading the scripture for someone and fasting for someone. The church also
allowed those to pay a price for their sins versus spending more time in purgatory. The church no
longer operated by faith but by money and power. Their extravagant purchases, like the rebuilding
of Saint Peter's cathedral, was received with harsh criticism from the people of Germany (Fiero
475). All these things combined sparked the Protestant Reformation.
The papacy's corruption ultimately led to Martin Luther, an Augustinian monk and doctor of
theology, to nail a 95–point manifesto on the door of the All Saints church in Wittenberg, Germany.
Luther had believed that only those who believed in the sacrifice of Christ would be saved from the
pits of hell. Those who had bought indulgences, and idolized saints would not be saved, as faith
could not be bought. Luther also voiced that he did not believe the Pope should be the source of
supremacy when it came to matters of faith and principle. He believed

The Human Condition In Art
The human condition is defined as:
"the characteristics, key events, and situations which compose the essentials of human existence,
such as birth, growth, emotionality, aspirations, conflict, and mortality." The diversity of the human
condition can be thought of as the very broad topic which has been and continues to be pondered
and analyzed from many perspectives, including those of religion, philosophy, history, art, literature,
anthropology, psychology, and biology," (Human Condition).
For the first piece of artwork that I am going to discuss that exemplify the aspect of human
condition would be "Noli Me Tangere" by Titian. In this piece of art, the artists depicts Mary
Magdalene kneeling before the newly risen Jesus. This is an example of human condition because in
the artwork, Mary is emotional. Mary has just seen someone who dies three days earlier and is now
risen and back.
The artists uses the human condition in many ways besides just emotionally. The artists uses the
form of conflict in the painting. In the human condition, conflict is one of the characteristics and the
artists focuses on that because you can see Mary kneeling and tugging at the robe of Jesus while he
has a face of concern because he knows what he is to do and that he is to keep going to not only
speak to Mary but to the other disciples.
Another human condition example in the art work is mortality. Jesus was crucified three days before
his resurrection and is now risen. There are not many cases

Example Of Colonialism In Viajero

  • 1. Example Of Colonialism In Viajero I. Introduction Viajero, a novel written by F. Sionil Jose, is a story of talks about a dreamer's journey towards knowing and understanding himself. Viajero also tackled the history of the Philippines and the behavior of Filipinos before the arrival of the Spaniards. The lead character of Viajero was an orphan named Salvador "Badong" dela Raza (a Spanish phrase meaning "Saviour of the Race"). He became an orphan when his parent had died from the war. He was found by a native called Apo Tale and was brought to his house, where his deaf–mute daughter, Mayang, was waiting. There, Badong was being cared of by Mayang. Unfortunately, six men with guns barged in to their household. He was so afraid of the incident that he immediately ran off to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Said discusses three main ideas in the decolonizing cultural resistance: (1) the concept of national language; (2) resistance as an alternative way of conceiving human history; and (3) a noticeable pull away from separatist nationalism toward a more integrative view of human community and human liberation (pp. 215–216). Roxas–Tope (1998) wrote that the proponents of nationalism in the Philippines during the 1960s thought that it was necessary to require the writing of Philippine history by a Filipino and from the point of view of the Filipino, but when these works were published "they became textbooks, the repository of historical truths and canonical interpretations of the past" (p. 24); an act that can be considered as walking the fine line of the concept of Grand Narrative that both postcolonial and postmodern schools of thought question. In the same line, Zialcita (2005) questioned the overly nationalistic approach to the (re)writing of history because it highlights only the "Spanish state as the enemy of democrats and nationalists by the late nineteenth century" and leaves out "the Spanish state that brought in symbols, values, and an organization whose unforeseen consequence was an expanded sense of community where notions of democracy and nationalism germinated" (p. 65). Zialcita also observed this need to frame the definition of Filipino ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 3. The Power of Love in Sonnets by Petrarch Surrey and Wyatt The Power of Love in Sonnets by Petrarch, Surrey and Wyatt Francesco Petrarch, Sir Thomas Wyatt and Henry Howard, the Earl of Surrey were three of the greatest poets in history. They were truly visionaries in their work and with their origination of the sonnet, they crafted poems of love in all its incredible forms. With these poets, we are able to see how the sonnet evolved into the form popularized by Shakespeare and even how it still influences the modern poetry of today. Petrarch, known as the "Father of Humanism," first wrote the Italian sonnet during the 14th century. Wyatt and Surrey, who lived and were close friends during the tumultuous reign of Henry VIII in England, composed respective translations of some of Petrarch 's ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There is no respect or admiration Surrey feels for Love as he is dying and he resents his own powerlessness to be released from Love 's hold: "For my lord 's guilt thus faultless bide I pain, yet from my lord shall not my foot remove: Sweet is the death that taketh end by love." Yet despite his resentment, he remains with Love and in the final two lines of the sonnet, he changes Petrarch 's question into a statement that dying by love is a sweet death. In Wyatt 's translation of Petrarch 's Rima 140, love has no authority over the poet but instead seems to be a visitor, who has only been allowed at the poet 's invitation. His translation is truer to the original than Surrey 's translation of the sonnet, except there is no image of the conquering knight. In the first stanza, he writes: "The long love that in my thought doth harbor, and in mine heart doth keep his residence, into my face presseth with bold pretense and therein campeth, spreading his banner." • 5. The Great Gatsby Social Class Essay 'Social class is the deciding factor in all loving relationships'. To what extent is this the case in The Great Ga tsby and two to three of the poems that you have studied. In loving relationships in The Great Gatsby, Who So List to Hount (hereafter Who So) and The Flea, the consort with the highest social status is shown to be dominant over their partner. This classist imbalance means that these relationships seem not only likely to fail, but destined to fail and, ultimately, it is then social class which determines whether the relationship will succeed. This essay will explore this idea with reference to the death of Myrtle, the power of King Henry VIII, the precariousness of Gatsby's wealth and a possible feminist reading of Donne's The Flea. When Myrtle is hit by the yellow car ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Seeing as Tom's descriptions are also of his "cruel body", it can be said that their relationship is, from the offset, based on lust, rather than love. Social class is not shown to play a part in lustful relationships, even if it is a deciding factor in loving relationships, because Myrtle and Tom are shown to be equal in terms of their sexuality. Interclass relationships are invariably inhibited by social class in The Great Gatsby, Who So and The Flea; however, this cannot be called the "defining factor" in these relationships because, whilst it is necessarily considered by each writer, the love of the lovers does not change due to social class, only the fate of said relationships. Then again, it must be remembered that each of the characters focused on have been defined as the person of the lower social class in the relationship. Whilst these individuals may continue to love their higher class partners, their partner may not reciprocate this feeling. Indeed, despite Gatsby's intense love for Daisy –– so great that Gatsby builds his identity, wealth and house in her name, Daisy remains indifferent towards him and, following her death, ... • 9. Poetry Analysis – Whoso List to Hunt Poetry Analysis – Whoso List To Hunt "Whoso List To Hunt" is a Petrarchan sonnet by Thomas Wyatt, which is known as an Italian sonnet, consisting of an octave and a sestet. This sonnet revolves around the themes of unrequited love, sexism, complexity, obsession and passion. Wyatt uses a collection of poetic techniques within the sonnet in order to display the power and desire the man has for the woman. The structure of this sonnet corresponds to a Petrarchan sonnet. This is identified by the rhyming scheme "abba abba cde cde". The sonnet is constructed by an octave, which are two quatrains combined then a sestet following after that. "Whoso List To Hunt" was based in the English Renaissance period during the late 15th century to the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The poet in lines 5–6 cannot take his fatigued mind off the 'deer' as she continues to flee. "my wearied mind Draw from the deer, but as she fleeth afore,". These lines signify his 'obsession' of possessing his prey. The use of the poetic term 'consonance', repetitions of non–vowel sounds, in line 6, "Draw from the deer" expresses the reoccurring longing desire and passion for the deer (woman). Another instance in which consonances are used, "as she fleeth afore, Fainting I follow. I leave off therefore". In this line there is an unremitting repetition of the letter "F" which gives a great indication that the hunter is out of breath and exhausted. When she flees, it quotes, "fainting I follow". He can only barely catch up to the wind that follows behind her, so he realises here that the chase is futile. He apprehends the fact that the deer is not welcoming his affection, which refers back to the theme of "unrequited love". Wyatt in addition introduces a second 'metaphor', "wind" in which he uses to describe the woman. The "wind" symbolises agility, freedom and is impossible to capture. The first octave makes out that this was all a wasted hunt, and that the poet is officially unsuccessful. In the closing sestet, the hunter addresses the other suitors who are determined to capture her that they have absolutely no chance and warns them that they'll suffer deep consequences if ... • 11. The 's Expulsion Of Adam And Eve From Eden Humanity as depicted by artists reflects the values of a society. Different ages have held different perspectives on humanity. These varying perspectives are displayed through the creation of each artist, writer, and composer. An era is described by what is produced in it; therefore, the ideas about humanity displayed in each piece of artwork are the same ideas that shaped a particular era. By examining components of the various pieces produced in an era, one can determine the majority view of humanity during that time and trace the shifts in society's perspective. As time has progressed, art transformed from having specific moral meaning to having purely subjective meaning. During the Renaissance, art focused on biblical scenes portraying Christian ideals. While this is nothing unusual, it is key in determining what values people in that era appreciated. The theme that begins to emerge in the early Renaissance is the psychological state of the people depicted. Masaccio's Expulsion of Adam and Eve from Eden is one of the earlier examples. The couple is clearly distraught and ashamed of their sin as they trudge out of the garden. Brunelleschi and Ghiberti also follow this idea in their works by the same name, The Sacrifice of Isaac. Both sculptors' characters convey varying emotions of this sacrifice through position and expression. Masaccio's The Holy Trinity depicts the pain and agony at the cross with an emphasis on Jesus instead of Mary. Donatello's sculptures of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Two undoubtedly richly dressed people, the French ambassador to London Jean de Danteville and the French envoy to Venice, the bishop Georges de Selv. Also, my gaze did not pass by the rack of cluttered with a multitude of objects from different spheres of life. According to Wikipedia, "they hint at their religious, intellectual and artistic interests." However, to be completely frank, I must admit that looking at the picture for the first time I did not notice a "hidden" deformed skull. And only after examining it, he fell into the field of my vision. Personally, I really liked this picture, but in the combination of colors and shapes of objects. There is something ancient and mystical in it, you can even say "sands of time". This inexplicable mystery attracts me, and especially the presence of a hidden "message" in such a vivid place. " That from mean to great fortune, people rise rather by fraud, than by force." These "fortunes" are all those causes of historical change that are beyond the deliberate, rational control of men. People became so involved questioning the principles of Machiavelli's prince that they do not realize that effectiveness of power is more important than the morality of the principle. For this reason, Machiavelli was considered to be the devil incarnate when he wrote The Prince. The term Machiavellian, was born after publishing the book during the Elizabethan era, symbolizing a leader marked with cruelty and ruthlessness. The Machiavellian tactic is the acting in accordance with the principles of government, in which politics is placed before morality or power over values. The tactic involves use of deceit to maintain authority and carry out the policies of a ruler. From The Prince, Machiavelli was explaining how people struggle for power and authority. Machiavelli got the idea during the military scandal in 1499, from his first diplomatic mission to France (1500), and from his acquaintance with Cesare Borgia (1502). He first took a place in the court of King Henry VIII in 1516. In the year 1520 he was married to Elizabeth Brooke at the age of seventeen. His son, of the same name, was born in the year 1521. Wyatt's marriage to Elizabeth was miserable and the couple is believed to have been "estranged by the second half of the 1520s" (Burrow). Thomas Wyatt and Elizabeth Brooke were separated in 1525 when Wyatt accused his wife of adultery. Much of Sir Thomas Wyatt's poetry is reflective of his love life. The poem can be seen as a parable relating to Anne's relationship with Henry VIII. When Wyatt speaks of the deer as the possession of the sovereign, not to be pursued by others, he is accepting that Anne has been reserved for the king alone. Wyatt would have been forced to withdraw as a suitor after the King had shown interest in her. This is made evident when Wyatt says: "I leave off, therefore, / Since in a net I seek to hold the wind" (7–8). He realizes the impossibility of being with Anne. It is a clever description of Henry's possessiveness and Wyatt's disappointment and feelings of helplessness under the circumstances. In 1536, Anne Boleyn was charged with adultery. Thomas Wyatt, along with four others accused of being romantically linked to the queen, were imprisoned. It was widely believed that Wyatt was indeed her lover. Another lyricist, Mark Smeaton, was among the accused in the same year so this suggests "that the queen had a circle of lyrists close enough to her to make a king claim that her intimacy with these men was sexual" (Burrows). This paper will focus on life milestones that made a significant impact towards my literary development. It will showcase important moments of my childhood, prepubescent and young adult life that will have an effect towards my future as a teacher. It is full of colorful illustrations that made it seem like the drawings were jumping out of the page and were alive. It was exhilarating! Every night my mother's voice takes a different persona as she reads the different characters in the book. Her animated expressions gave life to characters such as the Cinderella, Red Riding hood, Snow White, and Belle. I looked forward to reading rather than seeing it as a chore or as an exercise. • 27. Petrarch and Wyatt Compared Essay In the world of poetry, imitation occurs at every turn. Many poets will take an original form of poetry and copy the style. This can be said about Sir Thomas Wyatt who attempts to mimic Petrarch's form; when the symbols, tone, images, rhyme, and setting in Wyatt's poem "Whoso list to hunt" are compared to Petrarch's Rime 190 it becomes apparent that he failed to embody the essence of Petrarch in his writing. Symbolism plays a large role in most poems. "A pure–white doe in an emerald glade/Appeared to me, with two antlers of gold" (Petrarch lines 1–2) is a perfect example of symbolism is poetry. Petrarch is not actually talking about a white deer with golden antlers, he's talking about a beautiful woman with golden hair. Wyatt also uses ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I may no more" shows Wyatt's sexual desire for this woman and his disappointment in her unavailability to him. Petrarch's woman is a pure and beautiful woman while Wyatt's is a sexy, impure temptress. Another aspect Wyatt did not compare to Petrarch is visual imagery. Petrarch has a very beautiful way of using visual images which he proves with the lines one through four: "A snow white doe in an emerald glade/To me appeared, with antlers soft of gold,/And leapt two streams, under a laurel's shade,/Near sunrise, in the winter's bitter cold." (Petrarch lines 1–4). The closest visual image in Wyatt's version is "And graven in diamonds in letters plain" (Wyatt line 11) which is still very far away from being good visual imagery. Rhyme is a defining point of Petrarch's poetry with a rhyme scheme of abba abba cde cde. Wyatt kept the rhyme scheme of the octave but changed the sestet to cdd cee. "There is written, her fair neck round about,/Noli me tangere, for Caesar's I am,/And wild to hold, though I seem tame." (Wyatt line 12–14) is an example of the changed rhyme scheme. Wyatt also resorted to eye–rhyme which is also shown in the quotation for the words am and tame. Petrarch's poems held firm to the original rhyme scheme of abba abba cde cde and each rhyme is a complete rhyme rather than Wyatt's lazy eye–rhyming. Petrarch's rhyme ... The chosen paragraph is important because it shows that as King, Tom has tremendous power, even to condemn people to death. "Take him away–he hath earned ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 43. The Ritual Core Of Fascist Theatre Fascism and Rituals : History has revealed a close connection between theatrical presentation of rituals and dictatorial politics. Rituals are acts which are meant to connect to the very core of the human soul , the centre of his most elementary being . Naturally , any fascist dictatorial politics tries to exploit rituals as a mass–medium to perpetuate it's ideology. A fascist regime consolidates its authority not only by military power but also by popular consensus and use of ritualistic theatre plays a major role in manufacturing consensus. However, the men's "standing erect" does not negate their inferior status compared to the leader. Their physical strength will just be exploited by perpetrators of the cult to subdue any political opposition. In a word, they will be made to act as pawns in the dictatorial venture of Ramon and Cipriano. As women cannot provide that manpower they are unnecessary and "may sit". In this context, Ramon's indifferent attitude towards his wife, Carlota should be noted when she, being a devout Christian, frenziedly opposes consecration ceremony of Quetzalcoatl inside the previously Christian Church. Ramon's indifferent attitude towards Carlota is both a rejection of her womanhood as well as her different religious faith thereby reconfirming the alignment between patriarchy and dictatorial politics in Lawrence's ideology of that time. • 45. Filipino Nationalism : A Step Stone Filipino Nationalism: A Stepping Stone to Independence The Philippines is a small archipelago located in Southeast Asia, which has been conquered and controlled by many different and more powerful countries such as Spain, Japan, and the United States. It was under Spanish colonial rule for more than three centuries. Spanish colonization began when, Miguel Lopez de Legazpi, a Spanish voyager, disembarked in the Philippines in 1565 (Schumacher 1). This was the beginning of centuries of unethical treatments and inferiority of Filipinos. At first, the natives of the Philippines accepted the conquest and lived by the Spaniards' rules. During the first few decades of Spanish colonialism, the Philippines was not their main priority so the natives ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Because of this problem of inferiority, it is important to question, how did Filipino nationalism contribute to the gain of Filipino independence towards more powerful countries, particularly Spain, in the 1800s? Certain activists led movements in order to unite the Filipino people; they called themselves nationalists. The determination of the Filipino people to participate in non–violent revolts against higher and controlling powers rooted from their propaganda activism, which further helped them to gain Philippine independence, and at the same time united the Filipino people. Due to the determination presented by the Filipinos, the Spaniards allowed them to govern their own country. One of the first instances that demonstrate the Spaniards' inferior view of the locals in the Philippines was regarding Filipino friars and how the Spanish priests treated them. These friars were the first natives to show nationalism for the Philippines by claiming equality and showing loyalty to their country. Filipino priests felt controlled by the Spaniards and wanted to change how they were being treated. The three priests, Mariano Gomez, Jacinto Zamora, and Jose Burgos, did not commit any crimes, yet the Spaniards executed them to show that they still hold power, and that they have control over the religious sector of the Philippines. Gomez, Burgos, and Zamora were executed in 1872 (Guerrero and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 47. Analysis Of The Joys And Sorrows Of Mary The museum that I visited was the Museum of Fine Arts in St. Petersburg, Florida. The artwork I viewed was titled, The Joys and Sorrows of Mary (Life of Christ) and this art piece was created around 1375 to 1400 The artwork, The Joys and Sorrows of Mary (Life of Christ), was created in Late Gothic period. I am comparing The Joys and Sorrows of Mary and the Sarcophagus of Junius Bassus Organization: In The Joys and Sorrows of Mary diptych, the author utilizes gothic style, with lancet windows, pointed arches, and also seemed to be going for corinthian type columns. The author organized the art piece in a realistic, natural way, paying close attention to detail, and carving the art in high relief, allowing people to see the art scenes from a distance. The facial expressions are simple, kind, and the body language is subtle. The Virgin Mary also stands in "Gothic S–curve" stance in the Annunciation, where her movement is smooth and continuous, and her weight is shifted toward her right side (Anonymous). The lower four scenes represent the Annunciation, Visitation, Nativity, and Adoration of the Magi. The upper scenes represent Noli me tangere ("touch me not"), the Crucifixion, Presentation in the Temple, and the Coronation of the Virgin (Anonymous). In the Sarcophagus of Junius Bassus, the artist combined Roman and Christian characteristics to represent Junius Bassus' conversion from Paganism to Christianity. • 49. The Reformation : The Beliefs Of The Protestant Reformation The Protestant Reformation was a time of separation and awareness. It marked a shift in ideas, art, and beliefs mostly in Germany. The Protestant Reformation began in the 16th century after the people of Europe grown distrustful of the Roman catholic church. The morality of the church had died out with time. The papacy had made it clear that it had control over all estates and all people. This included kings and those who were wealthy. People could buy services from a priest, which included the clergy reading the scripture for someone and fasting for someone. The church also allowed those to pay a price for their sins versus spending more time in purgatory. The church no longer operated by faith but by money and power. Their extravagant purchases, like the rebuilding of Saint Peter's cathedral, was received with harsh criticism from the people of Germany (Fiero 475). All these things combined sparked the Protestant Reformation. The papacy's corruption ultimately led to Martin Luther, an Augustinian monk and doctor of theology, to nail a 95–point manifesto on the door of the All Saints church in Wittenberg, Germany. Luther had believed that only those who believed in the sacrifice of Christ would be saved from the pits of hell. Those who had bought indulgences, and idolized saints would not be saved, as faith could not be bought. Luther also voiced that he did not believe the Pope should be the source of supremacy when it came to matters of faith and principle. He believed ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 51. The Human Condition In Art The human condition is defined as: "the characteristics, key events, and situations which compose the essentials of human existence, such as birth, growth, emotionality, aspirations, conflict, and mortality." The diversity of the human condition can be thought of as the very broad topic which has been and continues to be pondered and analyzed from many perspectives, including those of religion, philosophy, history, art, literature, anthropology, psychology, and biology," (Human Condition). For the first piece of artwork that I am going to discuss that exemplify the aspect of human condition would be "Noli Me Tangere" by Titian. In this piece of art, the artists depicts Mary Magdalene kneeling before the newly risen Jesus. This is an example of human condition because in the artwork, Mary is emotional. Mary has just seen someone who dies three days earlier and is now risen and back. The artists uses the human condition in many ways besides just emotionally. The artists uses the form of conflict in the painting. In the human condition, conflict is one of the characteristics and the artists focuses on that because you can see Mary kneeling and tugging at the robe of Jesus while he has a face of concern because he knows what he is to do and that he is to keep going to not only speak to Mary but to the other disciples. Another human condition example in the art work is mortality. Jesus was crucified three days before his resurrection and is now risen. There are not many cases ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
