Example Of Analogy Essay
Crafting an essay on the subject of "Example Of Analogy Essay" can be quite challenging.
Firstly, the concept of analogy itself requires a deep understanding to effectively communicate
its essence. Analogies involve drawing parallels between seemingly disparate subjects to
elucidate a point or concept. This demands not only a keen analytical mind but also creative
prowess to identify suitable comparisons.
Moreover, writing an essay on this topic necessitates clarity of thought and expression. Analogies
can easily become convoluted or confusing if not articulated with precision. Balancing the
abstract nature of analogical thinking with concrete examples requires careful consideration and
skillful execution.
Additionally, finding relevant and engaging examples to illustrate the concept of analogy adds
another layer of difficulty. It requires extensive research and critical evaluation to select
analogies that resonate with the audience and effectively convey the intended message.
Furthermore, structuring the essay in a coherent manner poses its own set of challenges. It's
essential to organize thoughts logically, ensuring a smooth flow of ideas from introduction to
conclusion. This entails outlining key points, providing sufficient context, and seamlessly
transitioning between analogies to maintain the essay's coherence.
In conclusion, writing an essay on the topic of "Example Of Analogy Essay" demands a
combination of analytical prowess, creative thinking, research skills, and effective
communication. It's a task that requires careful planning, meticulous execution, and a thorough
understanding of the subject matter.

Summary Of Gender Criticism In Jane Austen s Lady Susan
I chose Gender Criticism to analyze the text. From the text, lady Susan has a
different female role compares to the other women in her time. She is proud of
being a coquette and enjoys the pleasure of subduing men which is not acceptable to
the prior generation. There is a cognitive gap of female gender between the old
generation and new open generation in the short story, so, I want to figure out the
differences in my paper.
Jane Austen s Lady Susan is about lady Susan Vernon seeks an advantageous second
marriage for herself, while attempting to push her daughter into a dismal match. (
Lady Susan. ) From our textbook, feminist and gender criticism is showing how
female literary characters could overcome the sexist power structures that surround
them and exercise power in their worlds. (Reading and Writing, 172) Not like
women today, in the period of lady Susan, marrying to a wealthy and humorous
spouse is the only way to become rich and get happiness. Is it acceptable for a woman
to try her best to pursue her happiness and wealth, and hang the cost? My answer is
yes and no, but at least the woman should have the choice. Lady Susan uses her
beauty and intelligence power, and even her daughter to earn a wealthy life, and
some people agree with her, while most people against her behavior.
Austen reveals women s strength in different characters in Lady Susan , like ration,
brave and independent. In letter IV and VI, although Mrs. Vernon hates lady Susan,
when her brother
Jocks In Glen Ridge Sports
Most citizens saw so wrong doing in what the guys supposedly did and were all
concerned about the bright future of these guys. From the things that the guys did to
Leslie in her childhood leading up to the trial these things did not raise any alarm to
the parents because their children held the title of jocks and their statues were elite.
Being jocks gave them flexibility when it came to the rules. Lefkowitz (1997)
stated:The fathers and mothers understood the transgressions of jocks because they
had experienced them themselves... Jocks acted boorishly on occasion. Sometimes
jocks were a little more aggressive with girls than good manners permitted... Parents
believed that this behavior fit within the boundaries of boys will be boys. (Loc....

Organization is the corporate aspect of social life the capacity for collective action
(Black, 1976). In this case neither the jocks nor Leslie had such. It was the jocks
parents who dominated in this aspect of the five types of statues. As Lefkowitz
(1997) would describe the parents of Glen Ridge as the backbone it could be
assumed that these parents all shared a strong network with one another with their
children (jocks) as a common factor. With Leslie parents, they were considered to be
outcasts. The judge could have possibly been associated with their network hence a

Comparing Animal Farm And The Third Wave
The education better known as indoctrination of the characters involved in George
Orwell s Animal Farm and the experiment described in The Third Wave [author?] are
distinctly similar, through their use of chants to invoke discipleship. Orwell achieves
this in Animal Farm through the pigs leaders of the farm who create a maxim that
encompasses the entirety of the farm s ideology, Animalism. The maxim is taught to
all animals who are unable to remember the Seven Commandments of Animalism;
instead, they trumpet, [f]our legs good, two legs bad (50). Through the repetition of
the maxim, the animalsare brainwashed until it is seared into their subconscious. Such
reinforcement causes all opposing thoughts to vanish, as one comes under the
New Physics Essay
What is the (next accessible) scale of new physics?
We do not have a clear answer. We are living through a challenging and exciting era,
in sharp contrast to the situation in the past (half) century in physics.
The discovery of the Higgs boson, the determination of the non zero $theta_ {13} $
neutrino mixing parameter, the first detection of gravitation waves, and many
significantly improved experimental probes for new physics beyond the standard
model mark the great triumphs of our understandings of nature.
Profound puzzles of nature, such as hierarchy problem, dark matter, neutrino
properties, matter antimatter asymmetry, strong CP, flavor structure, etc., are actively
being explored but yet remain to be solved. However, no clear ... Show more content

My research on supersymmetry~(SUSY) includes DM physics in conjunction with
Higgs boson, SUSY particle searches in scenarios such as compressed spectra,
stealthy SUSY and displaced SUSY with long lived particles, as well as using the
Higgs bosons as portals to SUSY particles.
Moreover, I am experienced and interested in QCD and Jet observables at colliders in
both traditional kinematics construction and Machine Learning methods.
Furthermore, my research in studies of general resonances also stands out, such as
colored resonances, $tbar t$ resonances, $Z^prime$ and $W^prime$ through
assorted asymmetries and electroweak radiation observables.
Currently, I have pioneered in using unconventional on shell interference effects to
between signals and background amplitudes to probe new physics. I have identified
several critical processes at the LHC and found these interesting on shell
interference effects not only an essential component of the precision programs but
also unique probes for BSM physics. What s more, I am working on using angular
distributions in boosted $tbar t$ system at the LHC and proposing new searches for
exotic long lived particle signatures in stop coannihilation DM scenario in the MSSM
and a next to minimal dark matter model.

Goblin Market Sisterhood
Goblin Market and Sisterhood At the surface level, Goblin Market appears to be
just a children s poem about being a hero and the importance of sisters. Delve into a
deeper level and you find, as Lona Mosk Packer puts [an] emotional experience
universally valid, (375). Christina Rossetti s poem Goblin Markethas three main
themes that critics argue: the importance of sisterhood, the sexual implications and
the dangers of erotic love and a Christ like sacrifice. These themes appear through the
language used, the allusions and comparisons made throughout.
In this poem, there are a lot of implications of Christ and how Lizzie is the
embodiment of Christ, even though she is a woman. In the poem, Lizzie is seen as
the redeemer of Laura; ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Rossetti spent much of her time helping the sisterhood when she volunteered St.
Mary Magdalene Penitentiary in Highgate to help these fallen women and some
argue this poem could be about her experiences with these women. In this poem,
Rossetti maybe eluding to these women who, Helsinger says are Seduced and
abandoned women contemplate their married rivals as successful competitors in a
market they have belatedly learned to recognize, (912). Lizzie can be not a Christ
like figure, but a sister, figuratively and literally, who is empowered by her sister s
need to be saved. We see her ..for the first time in her life/Began to listen and look,
(327 28); she is inspired and determined. Even when the goblins have tormented
and abused her, she is elated her penny bouncing was music to her ear. As Mermin
argues As her laughter indicates, her story has to do not with temptation resisted
neither the goblins nor their fruit attract her, and what she is resisting is attempted
rape but with danger braved and overcome, an heroic deed accomplished, (9). She
is driven by her success and basically runs to finish what she has started. When she
returns home, we are introduced to what some describe as an erotic scene between
the two sisters. Lizzie enters and says, Eat me, drink me, love me, (471), and Laura
responds by repeatedly kissing her
Discovering Netherlands Research Paper
Discovering Netherlands
During this past Spring I found myself traveling to The Netherlands to comfort my
niece after a terrible loss. This has been my second trip to this beautiful country even
though it was not a vacation trip it ended up been an amazing experience.
I arrived to Amsterdam but my destination was a new city for me The Hague, what a
surprise! My niece and her husband were renting a condo with a stunning view of
Scheveningen beach. It is a beautiful place with a large pier and all kind of
restaurants, hotels and children attractions to entertain locals and tourist. The
weather was a little chill but the sun shone over the beach making the scene just
unforgettable. Full of people relaxing and having fun. The sun is really
appreciated there, people does not want to miss a bit of it since the winter days are
very short. We walked the original pier and sat at a restaurant to see the kids play and
the adults enjoying a beer or a glass of wine.
This city has many International buildings and it is the main residence for the royal
family. The architecture and the gardens are amazing. I photographed almost every
sculpted garden full with the most beautiful tulips in all possible colors. It was

this great event. Never imagine the diversity and size of these flowers, from lilies,
carnations, tulips and much more put together to form big scenes and themes of
animals, flowers, cars, different cultures were also represented all in flowers. Also

we enjoyed a delicious ice cream and I was delighted with such a
Ysleta Mission for Christianizing the Tigua Indians
Ysleta Mission
Ysleta, Texas
Mission Corpus Christi de la Ysleta, the first mission in Texas, was established by
Antonio de OtermГn and Fray Francisco de Ayeta in 1682 and was maintained by
Franciscans for christianizing the Tigua Indians. The Tigua came as refugees and
captives with the former Governor of New Mexico, Antonio de OtermГn on his
retreat to the El Paso area after his unsuccessful attempt to recover New Mexico in
the winter of 1681 82 during the Pueblo Revolt. La MisiГіn de la Ysleta del Sur,
consecrated in 1682, was built by the Tigua (Tewa, Tiwa) speaking peoples
originally from Isleta and Sandia Pueblos in New Mexico. The mission was located
east of present day El Paso. The pueblo and mission were dedicated to the Tiguas
patron, St. Anthony of Padua, became the nucleus of a community that has existed
for 300 years the oldest continuously occupied settlement in Texas. Today, Ysleta
Mission is on the National Registry of Historic Places and part of the National
Historic Trail system of El Camino Real de Tierra Adentro.
From northern New Mexico to West Texas
The Tigua have faced many challenges in the past three hundred years since
arriving in what is now West Texas, and Mission Ysleta was become the place of
meeting and mixing of cultures. The original mission church at Ysleta del Sur is
believed to have been built of mud chinked logs and willow reeds. Later, Tigua labor
built a permanent mission from adobe by 1682. Bishop Salpointe, of Tucson,

Similarities Between Wilfred Owen And Siegfried Sassoon
The poet Siegfried Sassoon saw that war was destructive and it should not happen
because it was a waste of human life, Sassoon described the horror of war
unsparingly, also, his poems were often based on actual incidents. Wilfred Owen
focused his poetry on the particulars of war and the men involved: dirt, muddle,
boredom etc, Owen often wrote about the horror of war and the dignity of men. He
deeply felt a sense of the appalling wastefulness of war, casualties and the human
spirit. The similarities between these two poets are they both tried to record realistic
horrors of the war; to have it stopped. They were both angry at the war s brutality,
they were also showed very compassionate studies of the circumstances of fighting
men.
The connection I made between these 2 texts is that they both experienced death,
these texts are Memorial Tablet by Siegfried Sassoon and Dulce et Decorum Est by
Wilfred Owen. In the poem Memorial tablet, Siegfried Sassoon wrote about a man
being forced to fight in the war, the man fought for two bleeding years , but this
man was shot My wound was slight, I was hobbling back; and then a shell Burst
slick upon the duckboards: so I fell Into the bottomless mud, and lost the light. . In
Dulce et Decorum Est Wilfred Owen watched a man choke to death by gas, Wilfred
Owen screamed Gas! Gas! Quick, boys! But he could hear someone screaming But
someone still was yelling out and stumbling And flound ring like a man in fire or
lime... Dim, through
How To Visit The Tampa Bay
Each year millions of tourists visit the Tampa bay area. What is it about this small
inlet along Florida s west coast that attracts such a large number of people? Perhaps
some of the most important reasons are the unique museums, the parks, and the many
beaches. The diverse museums scattered throughout the Tampa area doubtlessly
contribute a great deal to the area s unique feel. The Dali Museum for instance, offers
visitors the opportunity to delve into the fascinating and complex mind of the great
Spanish master. This museum, itself a work of art, houses one of the largest
collections in the world, and includes many of the artist s greatest works, in addition
to holding hundreds of smaller prints and paintings. In addition to the

According to the definition on the Encyclopedia of Britannica website the QR code is.
QR Code, in full Quick Response Code, is a type of bar code that consists of a
printed square pattern of small black and white squares that encode data which can
be scanned into a computer system. The black and white squares can represent
numbers from 0 to 9, letters from A to Z, or characters in non Latin scripts such as

because it was over used by marketers and for many it never worked as it was

the delivery of useful information to any user of a smart mobile phone or a device

Music And Censorship Essay
In our society today, some musicians and their music drain and plague the moral
and spiritual well being of the people; therefore, censorship offers a necessary
action that we must take to keep the world from becoming a land of decadence. The
musicians lives are not examples for the children or the adults. The lyrics of many
songs are not suitable for anyone. All types of musicneed some kind of censorship.
Censorship makes a person realize that music is good for the heart. Censorship totally
makes people act better, and when thinking better, this sustains a better society. The
lives of some musicianscontain types of anarchy and self gratification. Once the
musicians realize that people want not just their music but them as well, they act...

The song quot;Rainy Day Woman #12 and #13, quot; blatantly says that
quot;everybody must get stoned. quot; That tells people to disobey the law and
tells people to mangle the temple of God, our bodies by perverting it with drugs
and stimulants. Many musicians make a mockery of their fans. The lead singers
subsist to do this the most because of the vocal opportunities they have to express
their discontent with life and thrust their ideas upon those who hypnotize with the
musician s power position, thus, makes the listeners obey their thoughts without
fully knowing. The lead singer Billie Jo, for Green Day, says to his fans, quot; I m
not going to say anything f****** intelligent, I m just going too swear a whole
d*** lot. quot; The Bible tells us that we should let everything that comes out of
our mouth praise Him, and swearing for any reason doesn t really praise Him at all
and is degrading for us as well. Almost like if he did not swear than we wouldn t like
him or understand him.
In addition the lead singer for Kiss would spit on his fans. He would get the crowd
to spit in a spittoon type container, and by the end of the concert, he would drink
the saliva and then he would use what dwelled left in the spittoon to spit on the
crowd. This creates a bad influence on anybody and makes a person believe that it
justifies him to do these actions because he dwells on stage, which totally in fact
creates wrong, and not right. The band would also wear face paint

The typical country does not approve of citizens killing other beings, and yet the
typical country approves of war. War is the term for legalized mass murdering that is
organized being that not all countries can simply live in harmony with one another.
Like most horrible things, it causes more problems than it solves. The effects of this
glorified engagement are demonstrated and analyzed within the novels Johnny Got
His Gun by Dalton Trumboand Born on the Fourth of July by Ron Kovic. These
two novels are the stories of two soldiers who went into two different wars that
caused them to deal with great change that would alter their lives forever. Even
though these novels accentuate the concept of soldier s overcoming obstacles,
they moreso focus on the adversity of saying goodbye, isolation, and sacrifice that
many soldiers must deal with. To begin, both authors discuss the hardships people
must go through in order to become soldiers, especially that of having to leave
behind loved ones. In Dalton Trumbo s Johnny Got His Gun, he expresses and
details the difficulty that many soldiers must go through when he writes about Joe
Bonham having to say goodbye to his family and girlfriend. For example, in
chapter three it states, Oh Joe Joe I don t want you to go. You think I want to go? I
m afraid. (Trumbo 34). In this quote, it is the day before Joe Bonham s departure,
and his girlfriend, Kareen, is expressing her fear in him leaving. This shows Bonham
s determination to

Each new rule is separating the chosen group, the us allowed in and the others. The
lack of consideration demanded by the game in ignoring the pleas to bypass some
of the many rules is reiterating that the us is more important. Are there better
doctors for polio in Arstotzka? It wouldn t matter, it s better for the we of the
nation to disallow entry. Would that wife trying to join her husband do any harm?
It s not worth considering, it ll waste precious time in a limited day to give her the
benefit of the doubt. Each step of the way, the game is building a glimpse into what
the immigration process can be like, whether it s as blatant or as militant as in the
game, whether before or after, current new administration. Even before new
developments, immigration was a harsh process that harshly favors the us over the
them even if the others are just people like we are on this side of the border.

Renaissance Era Research Paper
The word rebirth describes a complete and dominating change in the way something
is done, or a fresh start. This word perfectly and appropraitely fits with the theme of
the renaissance, meaning exactly that, rebirth, which followed the middle ages. The
entire way that society and the world functioned changed fairly abruptly, and the
world was different forever. These changes could be seen in the newly rediscovered
passion for classical styles and learning that had been almost completely abandoned in
the Middle AGes. Suddenly systems of government changed, people became more
interested in learning and invention, with astronomy being a new public fascination.
Probably most notably though, was the shift in music and art back to more classical...

The four most notable Renaissance artists, Donatello, Raphael, Michelangelo, and
Leonardo da Vinci, each produced many works throughout his life, works that are
still viewed and revered today. Donatello, to begin, was either a direct creator of, or
at the very least the stylistic founder of, any religious sculpture in Florence, Rome,
and beyond. He sculpted some of the first detailed and realistic works with his
models of Saint Mark and Saint George. Another highly influential artist at the
time, Raphael, produced a staggering number of paintings in his short, just thirty
seven year lifespan. His works included lots of religious images and many
depictions of The Madonnas. Another artist, whose style was influenced by both
Donatello and Raphael, was Michelangelo. Michelangelo was an accomplished
sculptor and painter who fashioned some of the most recognizable works of the
Renaissance. He painted many works, including the large and impressive Sistine
Chapel Cieling, and The Creation of Adam with the famous finger touching
between God and Adam. He also made many iconic sculptures such as David,
which is one of the most well known sculptures of all time. One final artist worth
noting is of course, Leonardo da Vinci, who is responsible for The Last Supper,
Vitruvian Man, and even the most famous work of art in the entire world Mona
Lisa. It is truly fascinating to see just how many beautiful and iconic works were
produced during this golden age of

Examples Of Imagery In Bliss
Imagery is a tool used by authors in order to make objects, ideas or actions appeal
the reader s physical senses.Peter Carey uses this tool often in his descriptions and
while doing this, he also uses other tools like metaphor, simile, personification etc.In
this essay, a few of examples of imagery in second part of Bliss will be discussed.
Below is the first example for imagery:
Look at him: sneaking up the stairs you might have thought he was impersonating a
cat in a pantomime, or even without a costume, a lizard. (Carey 48)
With these lines Peter Carey compares Harry Joy with a cat in a pantomime or a

Here is an example for the author s use of personification:
Lucy sat on the verandah rail in a white cheesecloth dress and looked at the
bangalow palms, which, in the absence of any wind, mysteriously rustled their fish
bone fronds, as if talking to each other. (Carey 98)
Talking is an action that is only special to humans However, in this case the ability
to talk is transferred to bangalow palms, which in reality, cannot talk.In addition to
this example of personification, below is a similar one,in which a house is
personified by adding the feature of having a heart:
Lucy was up early to sell the Tribune and up late at meet ings, some official, some
secret, in which she plotted to reform a Communist Party branch. But, like David and
Bettina, she could not pass through the dead dusty heart of the house without feeling
a certain sadness, a cold shivering melancholy similar to that which might be
produced by an old orange tree growing next to a wrecked chimney. (Carey 55)
In conclusion, one can distinguish many uses of imagery and literary tool such as a
metaphor or simile in the second part of
Theme Of Chaos And Order In Beowulf
Chaos and Order in Beowulf
The Epic of Beowulf is about many things, one could say. It involves changes of
power, darkness and light, overcoming challenges, temptation and destruction, war, et
cetera, et cetera. These themes, and many more, make up what are known as major
and minor themes. Both are of equal importance to a story in its entirety; the
difference being that major themes address the writer s most significant ideas, while
minor themes refer to an idea that appears only momentarily.
For example: a major theme in Beowulf could be overcoming challenges, because it
is one of the main ideas throughout the story. Beowulf defeats Brecca, and Grendel,
and Grendel s mother, and the dragon at the end, and had already faced many threats

With Grendel dead and gone, order is restored at the hands of Beowulf, and the
people s normal merry making begins afresh.
This pattern can be seen throughout all of Beowulf s tale. It transpires again when
Grendel s mother comes seeking revenge for her dead son, and kills Hrothgar s
closest friend. Chaos returns, the people are in dismay once again, along with
Hrothgar; uncertain of what to do. Hrothgar pleads with Beowulf to kill Grendel s
mother, which he does willingly; reestablishing order in Hrothgar s kingdom.
Soon thereafter, Hrothgar dies, leaving his kingdom not to either of his sons, but
to Beowulf. He rules well for fifty years, keeping the balance of chaos and order in
check. It is here that the pattern of chaos to order is altered. With Beowulf as king,
the Danes land had no fear of monsters attacking again, and any wars that may have
taken place were small enough that true turmoil did not exist again until Beowulf
himself was old and grey. That was when the dragon awoke. A runaway slave
seeking respite from an angry master found his way into the dragon s barrow and
inadvertently stole a precious golden goblet from the hoard of treasure he found
there. Outraged, the dragon roused itself and took flight.
Pandemonium ensued as towns and cities were burned out of the dragon s anger.
Beowulf s heart broke as he discovered his hometown had been reduced to charred
ruins, and vowed to kill
What Is The Main Cause Of Sun Exposure To The Sun
Since the beginning to time the sun has been the main source of life for earth. One of
the most important nutrients that the sun provides for humans, as well as other
organisms is vitamin D. Unfortunately, vitamin D deficiency has recently been
labeled a widespread, infectious disease. The main cause of vitaminD deficiency is
the belief that any exposure to the sun will be harmful so many avoid being in the
sun. Another cause of vitamin Ddeficiency is the fact that there is a minimal amount
of food that naturally contains enough vitamin D to supply our needs adequately.
Vitamin D deficiency is known to cause rickets, osteopenia, osteoporosis, and bone
fractures. It also has been linked to an increase risk of common cancers, autoimmune
diseases, hypertension, and infectious diseases. People, birds, amphibians, reptiles,
and primates depend on sun exposure for their vitamin D requirements. Also, some
of the smallest life forms in the Atlantic Ocean like phytoplankton have existed for

Hemmingway and Faulkner Essay
As it pertains to literature, prose refers to arrangement and format. Literary works
written in prose style mirror everyday speaking. Prose medium differentiates itself
from poetry in the use of unmetered, unrhymed language consisting of logically
related sentences (Gale). Although the meaning, message or point of the work may
be obscure and hidden, the format is one easily read and understood by the audience.
Ernest Hemmingway and William Faulkner are but two success stories utilizing this
simple and yet complex literary layout. Ernest Hemmingway was born in Oak Park,
Illinois in 1899 to a physician who initiated him into the world of hunting and fishing
(Perkins). This initiation would set the stage for the man he would turn... Show more

Hemmingway s works focus more on the journey and less on the destination.
Robert Jordan, in For Whom the Bell Tolls, loses his life for cause already lost
which gives prime example to Hemmingway s desire to focus not so much on the
kill, but the thrill of the chase (Perkins). Oddly enough, Hemmingway, a staunch
hunter and outdoorsman, perished not from natural causes, but from a self inflicted
gun shot wound. While living through the same period, Ernest Hemmingway and
William Faulkner, another prominent figure in literature of the period, were vastly
different. William Faulkner had the creative ability to portray reality, in words, in a
more realistic manner than reality itself. He did this in stark contrast to

Discussing The Terms Design, Function And Content Of
Webpages
With the knowledge of programming languages HTML and CSS (short for Hyper
Text Markup Language and Cascading Style Sheets respectively) anyone is capable
of creating a webpage in today s world. With the websites rapidly becoming the
preferred media for watching films and television, communicating and socializing,
shopping, reading books, playing games and much more, their content, function and
design are now more crucial than ever before as people demand higher quality with
the advancement of technology and modernisation of online content. Hence, this
essay will be discussing the terms design, function and content of webpages and how
they influence the meaning and value of information, which is an enormous issue in
this age as there is... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Last question is concerning the coverage, to tell if the topic was adequately covered
by the information source. These questions are essential in evaluating the aspects of
information and they are structured in a way everybody can understand them easily
and use them to look at information, whether it is on the Internet, in books or articles
with evaluating stance.
The website s design signifies what is the page s overall look, meaning what
colours were used, what type of font there is, what kind of layout it has and if there
is not just a solid colour as a background then also what type of background it has.
All of these aspects add to the design and how the user views and perceives the
information provided therefore it is crucially important in overall perception. Bad
design can have catastrophic results and will result in people s disinterest in the web
page therefore should be avoided in all cases. As it is impossible to create a
website suitable for everyone because people s needs for aesthetics vary and all
their needs are subjective, December suggests that there are techniques to raise the
probability of satisfaction of a web page from the user. Since such issue can be
resolved mainly by educating ourselves on the topic, paying attention and using
common sense, creating web pages with bad design might be easily preventable.

The Women’S Rights Convention Took Place In Seneca

The Women s Rights Convention took place in Seneca Falls, New York 1848. This
was the first ever women s rights convention in the United States, and with almost
200 women in attendance. This convention was organized by Lucretia Mott and
Elizabeth Kelly Stanton, who were both abolitionists that met at the 1840 World Anti
Slavery Convention in London. In 1848 at Elizabeth Stanton s home near Seneca
Falls, the two women, Mott and Stanton, were working with Martha Wright, Mary

Women began entering male dominated professions such as law, medicine, clergy
and corporate. Women also began to commence several new institutions. The
suffrage movement allowed for women to fix their place in society and take a
closer step to full equality of people in America. After the suffrage movement,
women s economic roles increased in society. Since there were now more
educational opportunities, it led more and more women to find and use their
potential for meaningful and professional careers. Women s salaries also increased
but not to the amount men had received. However, this was still a huge
achievement for women because it was such a huge step from what it had been
before. The resistance of giving women the right to vote began to cease when the
territorial legislature of Wyoming granted women the vote in 1869; it was the first
permanent suffrage law in U.S. history. By the 1890 s many states had granted
suffrage. By 1913 there were 12 states and the National Woman s Party, under
leadership of Alice Paul, decided to harness the voting power of women in those
states to push a suffrage resolution through congress. The country s involvement in
WWI needed the help of women; which then provided the suffragists their power.
When the U.S. entered the war in 1917, a woman s suffrage amendment was

going on. Enough of the negative, the best part about the book was how you would
picture what was going on in your head and with that came an emotion you would
be feeling from anger to happiness. When you would read about the part of her
grandfather dying you could see thieves punching and slamming his head into the

tears. Lastly is when Mattie s mother finally came back home. Mattie burst into her

Ancient Egyptian Eras
When it comes to the Egyptian history, we know of different eras that were split
into several different periods according to the ruling dynasty at that time. That being
said each of them had completely distinct rulers depending on who was in control at
the time.. The ones that have been written about all have a vast difference between
them. Some are known for the art, architect, and agriculture while others for trading
of gold, ebony, ivory and even slaves. The eras that we know of are as listed ( A Time

The first two periods both centralized their community around the Nile River. The

commonly known city of Thebes arose. Within Thebes came the bulk of the
Egyptian artwork, artifacts, and architecture that we generally think of today ( Egypt:

Lastly we have the Late Period in which started around 672 B.C.E. and lasted until

them. One of the first conquerors came from the Persian s with their amazing and

Book Vs Movie Ella Enchanted
Gail Carson Levine s fantasy novel of Ella Enchanted was adapted into the film Ella
Enchanted with a similar basic concept, though the story elements in both forms of
media differ in ways that alter the themes of the original story. One minor identifiable
alteration from the book is the setting, which barely changes physically in the movie.
Another change between the two is the opening, which has a similar basis in both
versions of the story. Also, the characters in Ella Enchanted differ so greatly from
their original personas that they almost seem to belong to different stories altogether!

The make up and concept of what was once considered a traditional nuclear family
is quickly disappearing (Timmerman, 2013). According to Jojic, Raj, Wilkins,
Treadwell, Caussade Rodriguez, Blum (2012), Traditional family roles have changed,
and the conception of what Americans consider a family has likewise shifted with
differing societal views regarding gender, gender roles, race, and ethnicity (p. 128).
To accompany the changes being made to the customary view of family dynamics,
the family environment has become an influential psychological aspect of this change
(Kwiatkowski, 2010). As evidence continues to expand regarding all of the changes
that have occurred, exact reasons regarding the changes are as abundant as the
explanations described in the data.
As the proof increases concerning the reasons for the downfall and declination of the

Significance of the Treaty of Versailles
World War I was a devastating war that had a long lasting effect on every European
country. After the assassination of Franz Ferdinand, the heir to the Austrian throne,
and his wife by the hands of a Serbian terrorist group known as the Black Hand.
Germany urged Austria Hungary to attack Serbia, but Russia stepped up to protect
the country. Germany ambushed Belgium, and proceeded to Russia, throwing Great
Britain into the war due to their alliance with Belgium. As a result, the continent of
Europe, including Great Britain, Italy, Russia, Austria Hungary, and France, was
plunged into a great World War. The war lasted from 1914 to 1918, and it left
Germany singled out as the catalyst. In November 1918, Germany finally agreed to
an Armistice, a halt in the fighting, but they did not consider themselves to be
surrendering. At the time, the Germans believed that they would play a role in
constructing the treaty that would end the war, but when the time came, they were
not allowed to participate. Germany was greatly angered by this, but there was
nothing that they could do for their army had been disarmed. They had two choices:
sign the Treaty or be invaded by the Allies. With no other option, the Treaty of
Versailleswas signed on June 28, 1919 in the Hall of Mirrors at the Palace of
Versailles in France. Although the Treaty of Versailles did bring an end to World War I

The evidence conclusively implies that humans were created with the unique ability
to employ speech for communication.
An article written by Lemonick (1994:80 87) in Time magazine titled How man

animals. Most scientific scholars acknowledge that communication by speech is
exclusively a human ability. Therefore, it is one of the ability that is often used as
the unique, and most important, dividing line between humans and animals. In his

concept of intelligence that its possession is virtually equated with being human.
Animals who talk are human, because what sets us apart from other animals is the

language is an adaptation unique to humans, and yet the nature of its uniqueness and

For instance at a photo printing shop, the printer s accuracy is measured in the size

performance; it symbolizes how well the product the project produced works. The
project team can produce a product on time and budget, however, if it is not accurate
it will not meet the performance constraint (voices yahoo, 2007). Volume The third
performance measurement is volume, which is measured by the total number quality
product that is dispensed to the client. For instance, a photo printing shop is

Alain De Botton
In his TED talk, A kinder, gentler philosophy of success , Alain de Botton focuses
on the different ways that society views and accepts successes and failures. One
model that de Botton discusses is one where an individual takes their successes and
failures to be upon themselves. He mentions that individuals who take responsibility
for their failures, as much as they do their successes, are more likely to have low
self esteem and career anxiety. With this lack of confidence and added stress, de
Botton concludes that it is difficult to find one s kinder, gentler . . . successbecause an
individual will fear the judgment that will surround their mistakes and the resulting
negative effect on their reputation which are all due to the mistakes that stem from
their own fault. With his argument, de Botton persuades his audience to veer away
from believing that one s mistakes are entirely of their own doing, and he
introduces another way of thinking in lieu of it de Botton states that with an

strengths and weaknesses of NPV as well as the two others to se if the statement is

The positive aspect of it using cash flows is that it determines when the project will
earn its incomes, how soon they will come as well as how sizable they are going to
be. What is meant when he states that it uses all the cash flows is that it
acknowledges every single cash flow, regardless of the date or the size. The
advantage for the shareholders of the firm is that it shows how much they can expect
to get back from an investment as it takes into account the riskiness of the project
and doesn t ignore the time value of money. However, the NPV approach those have
some disadvantages as well.
The main disadvantage to the net present value approach is that it is sensitive to
discount rates. The computations of NPV are a summary of multiple discounted
cash flows that are converted into present value terms for the same point in time.
This could affect the result both positively and negatively, and as said earlier, it is
almost impossible to predict what the future brings. Let s use the example given in
the article Uses, abuses and alternatives to NPV by Ross (1995). If the current
interest rate leads to a negative NPV, but in the future the interest rate decreases and
leads to a positive NPV. The management or analyzers may miss out on a good
investment opportunity if they sell the project early because with the current interest
rate it is considered not profitable.

Summary Of Juana Ines s You Foolish Men
In her writing, we see Juana did not detest romance, but the possessive demeaner
men took on and as previously discussed she was not fond of being controlled. Since
I m Condemned criticizes men that take on this behavior similarly to the way You
Foolish Men berates the hypocritical insults and indecisiveness of men.
Juana Ines never married, but before becoming a nun, her eclectic personality and
outspokenness attracted the attention of many admirers. Fabio , a recurring character
in Ines s work, is an amalgamation of the characteristics that she found despicable in
the men around her. The first stanza sets the stage for Ines s Dramatic monologue as
a confession. She sounds resigned and complacent to being condemned to death
by Fabio s decree, however she is not amused in the slightest and calls the
sentencing wrathful or wild. In line five, she goes on to say that there is no
criminal so guilty as to be denied confession. This is a clear example of what Juana
Ines was praised for, playing the system against itself with her rhetoric and wit. In
this time women were preferred to be kept silent, by bringing in the argument of
confession, a staple of Catholicism, she has given herself a platform to speak that the
men cannot deny without being perceived as Sacrilegious.
The seventh line can be interpreted in few ways: either it is referring to Fabio s
education therefore higher status or it suggests gossip relating to Juana Ines.
Whatever the case may be it causes Fabio to take offence at De La Cruz chest.
Chests, here, refers to gender; Juana is asking if people are more willing to believe
in him because he is a man than the established truth that many others have
experienced. She asks Fabio why he is able to trust the eyes of others, but not his
own. She assures him that this gossip will get her killed. In line seventeen the tone
in the writing begins to change from a dramatic rebuttal to subtle sarcastic wit. To
illustrate how outrageous she sees Fabio s anger, Ines comes up with increasingly
overdone punishments to normal interactions with other men. She asks to be killed
if she has looked at someone else s eyes, to never be happy if she looks at any other
with happiness, and to have her soul chased
Motivational Model Of Alcohol Use A Drinking
Consumption...
Binge drinking is defined as a drinking consumption of over 5 drinks at a time
(Presley, Meilman and Lyerla, 1995; Wechsler, Davenport, Dowdall, Moeykens,
Castillo, 1994, cited in Fillmore, M.T. 2001), and there is an increase in frequent
drinking and alcohol related problems among students (Mohr et al 2005). With this
severe impact, Kuntsche, Knibbe, Gmel and Engels (2006) points out that there is a
long tradition about research on drinking motivations for young people.
Broadly speaking, there are two motivational models of alcohol use (Cooper, 1994).
One is the particular Motivational Model of Alcohol Use developed by Cox and
Klinger in 1988, which presume that people drink in order to achieve an anticipative
need. It promotes individuals to make decisions combined by emotional and rational
thinking about whether to drink or not (Cox Klinger, 1988). The other motivational
model is the assumption that drinking behavior caused by difference is characterized
by unique patterns of antecedents and consequences(Cutter and O Farrell,1984).
Based on Cox and Klinger s conceptual model, Cooper(1994) gives a research to
develop and validate a four factor model. This research collected data from a
representative sample of 1243 adolescents including blacks and whites participants
completed a questionnaire including about 20 reasons for drinking, all related to four
motivations: social motivation, enhance motivation, coping motivation and
conformity motivation. The result supports

NCIS to help take down The Calling. While they tracked down Sadiq Samar,
another one of their leaders, The Calling took Luke to Iraq. When Gibbs, Joanna

What Is The Contribution Of The Functionalist, Conflict...
Sociology is the study of society, it uses its methods in systematic way, and are
usually empirical. Since it is the study of scientific society, human social life, more
than aggregate of individuals. In order to understand any issue related to sociology
such as race, gender, caste, culture and marriage etc. We need to understand its three
main perspectives, functionalist perspective, conflict theory and symbolic
interactionism. Functionalist Perspective is all about progress in the society through
harmony, because society has a system which is interconnected Therefore, we need to
maintain a state of balance and social equilibrium for the whole Herbert Spencer,
Emile Durkheim, Talcott Parsons and Robert Merton have largely contributed to
functionalism. Conflict Theory views life as competition, distribution of limited
resources, power. Its main criteria is to maintain social order by dominance and
power instead of harmony. Karl Marx is the one to put forward the conflict theory.
Unlike conflict theory and functionalist perspective, symbolic interactionism neither
deals with harmony in the society nor with the society with dominance or power. In
fact it deals with the interaction that includes gestural communication. Max Weber

The Strip District History in Pittsburgh
Owners James O Hara and George A. Bayard wanted an area where the people of
Pittsburgh could go and look around at wholesale and retail shops while enjoying all
the wonderful tastes and cultures of Pittsburgh, food and they decided to do just that.
In 1814, James and George established what we call today the Strip District that
covered between 11th and 15th streets in Pittsburgh ( Strip District History, n.d.).
However, the official name was the Northern Liberties of Pittsburgh which was an
area known as Bayardstown. A little over 20 years later, in 1837, the Northern
Liberties linked with the city of Pittsburgh s Fifth Ward, which was the first addition

Analysis Of A Poem In The Inner City By Lucille Clifton
Divergence Converges Many spend their lives learning how they are different from
others to define their uniqueness, but these differences sometimes spark an internal
wish to join the others. For example, most United States citizens know their
country s economic position exceeds Canada s, yet some U. S. citizens want to
move to Canada due to political preferences. Likewise, the speaker in Lucille
Clifton s There is a girl inside wants youthfulness despite current elderliness, which
contrasts with the speaker in Clifton s in the inner city who ponders many times
about another position, the Uptown Girl, but maintains interest in the inner city due
to the freedom and dangerousness correlated with lower class downtown housing.
Similarly, the speaker in Gwendolyn Brooks a song in the front yard wants to
reside in an impoverished area since it is free and wild. The speakers in Brooks and
Clifton s poems discuss how life is for people on the other side through contrasting...

The inner city dweller maintains an entertaining home life as the front yard
speaker wishes to live in the eventful back; the speakers vary their approach to
sharing their view to convey their tone. Inner city life is a happy (Clifton) time for
the speaker as the several stores, community centers, offices, and hotels keep her
busy. Many people live downtown but their small apartments blend together
creating a no place (Clifton) atmosphere. This is dramatic irony as the speaker
describes the uptown as a dead, boring area when she calls her home a no place
(Clifton). However, Clifton slides over this negative notion as she mentions her inner
city pride in her active peers, which she mentions indirectly when she talks as we
instead of I. On the other hand, the front yard speaker speaks through I (Brooks) to
emphasize her
Most Powerful Man in 1920 s, Al Capone Essay
Chicago in the 1920 s was known to be a town of relentless parties, alcohol, and
violence filled streets. The mastermind pulling the strings was the world s most
notorious gangster, Al Capone, whom utilized the teachings of Frankie Yale and
Johnny Torrio to become the most powerful man in the underworld. He was a man
of raw brutality and wits, paying off anyone willing to help him grow in power, and
kill off anyone who wouldn t. Al Caponewas not like any ordinary criminal, he set
out to make the public love him as a person, yet he considered killing to be a part of
business. To this day whether or not Capone was a criminal mastermind or robinhood
is debatable. What stands firmly is that the Roaring Twenty s wild demeanor is

He eventually fell behind in class and failed the sixth grade. He continued to slack
and eventually his teacher hit him for being disobedient, but to her amazement he
strikes her back. He never returns to Brooklyn Elementary, leaving young Capone
plenty of time to bond with the streets of Brooklyn. While other kids his age were
learning things in school, Capone was learning how to shoot and fight.
In 1910, the Capone family saves up enough money to move to 21 Garfield Place,
Park Slope, which was a much better environment. Although the Capone family
moved to a better side of town, the hardships continued. Capone helped to support
his family by taking on a variety of odd jobs; such as a pin setter and cloth cutter,
while maintaining a membership in the local Five Points Gang. Eventually Al
Capone, whilst working for the Five Points Gang, grabs the attention of the
notorious New York mobster, Frankie Yale. In 1917, Al Capone lands a job
working as a bartender, waiter, and bouncer at Frankie s Harvard Inn. Frankie Yale
became a mentor of Al Capone, and he learned a lot from Yale on how to use fear
as a method of leadership. While working at the Harvard Inn, Capone found himself
in a fight with Frank Gallucio, resulting in three knife wounds on his left cheek.
This is where Al Capone s nick name Scarface , which he despised, is derived from.
A short time after, Al Capone meets the love of his life, the Irish Mary Coughlin,
whom was a
A Beach That Has Changed Analysis
A Beach That Has Changed When being a kid your favorite place is seen however
you want it to be seen no matter how unrealistic it is. When going again to the
same place as a teenager, you don t see the sane anymore your mind is
programmed to see the realism. When I was little I noticed every beautiful thing in
this one place, but when arriving at the same place as a teenager that beauty
disappears and reality is what I see and feel. When going to the beach as a child the
enjoyable physical descriptions, activities and experiences changed when going
back to the beach as a teenager. When I went to the beach as a kid it was exciting,
hot, and beautiful and now going as a teenager it s too hot, boring, and scary. To
begin with when I was 12 my familywanted to go to South Padre Island, and I really
wanted to go to the beach. As a child any chance of getting in the water and playing
with sandwas paradise for me. My family wanted to rent a condo and the perfect
place was Isla Grand. When finally done unpacking and getting our swimsuits on we
walked to the back of the place. The sunshining on my eyes as they glistened from
seeing such a beautiful view. I stopped just to analyze this beautiful beach... Show

Finally I had my feet at the edge of where the water hits. The anticipation was
building up as the wave hit my feet, I knew it would feel cold but warm at the same
time. When finally getting in the water happiness overcame me, this is where I
knew wanted to be. I could feel the seaweed on my legs, which tickled a bit and I
loved it. The way the sun s rays felt on my body was soothing. What made me most
happy when coming to the beach was playing volleyball with family. At the time I
knew that nothing could change the way I felt about the
Yemen s Humanitarian Crisis
What many individuals do not know is that Yemen is one of the worst humanitarian
crises occurring today. Yemen is located in the Middle East, north of the horn of
Africa and south of Saudi Arabia. Before the current conflict began, Yemen was
already the poorest country in the Middle East, with half of their population at or
below the poverty line. Since 2004, a war between the Republic of Yemen
Government (RoYG) and the Houthi rebels began, which increased the humanitarian
crises in Yemen (Whitaker, 2011). This affects the citizens of Yemen as the unlawful
airstrikes from Saudi Arabiaare harming the citizens rather than aiding the war
efforts. The US should respond to the Humanitarian Crisis in order for Yemen to
become economically and politically... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Since Yemen was already considered a poor country, the conflict between the
Republic of Yemen Government and the Houthi rebels made matters worse. This
led to Saudi Arabia contributing to controversial air strikes with the intention to
help reinstate President Hadi s position in the government, which in turn is
responsible for a great portion of civilian deaths. Having the US involved to
peacefully put an end to the war would help save many civilian lives. By doing so,
the crises in Yemen can be resolved adequately, and allow for the nation to prosper
and grow once more. The Republic of Yemen Government and Houthi rebels must
come to a ceasefire and truce, but this may only be reached by the assistance of the

Analysis of Wal Mart Essay
Analysis of Wal Mart Wal Mart is the largest retailer in Canada , Mexico and USA.
In addition to that Wal Mart has been known in USA not only for its dimensions
but also for a very big number of reasons and good values. I think the best way to
start an analysis about Wal mart strategy is to see where the company is now with
the use of a brief Swot analysis. As far as the Strengths are concerned , I think that
one of the most important features Wal Mart has is the customer approach. Sam
Walton wanted its organization to provide the customers with the so called
aggressive hospitality and with this Walton meant that the employers have to provide
the customers with all they need , they always... Show more content on

The fidelity programs are an important instrument to lock in the consumers . In
addition to that the mission statement was not formalized . As we know is always
important to have a clear mission statement because it helps to have a more clear
vision about the company and especially about the purposes of the company.
Another weakness is that the women employees are paid less than the men
employees are. This problem arose in 2003 when the company had to face with a
federal lawsuit filed by six female employees complaining that there were
discriminations against women in pay. This fact was also underlined by some
studies based on the Wal Mart s payroll data. As far the opportunities are concerned I
think that the European market can be a market where to put more efforts in the
expansion . Another opportunity can be the creation of an online store where the
people can buy their items and have them delivered at home. The threats are that
some small cities do not want Wal mart to install its business locally because they
want to maintain their own business integrity. Another problem is that the products
Wal Mart sells are very standardized and so easy to substitute with other products .

Jude The Garden Of Gethsemane
Jude is the second to last book in the Bible before Revelation and after third John.
Jude consists of one chaper and twenty five verses. The genre of this book is
prophetic apocalyptic literature and it was written in Cira AD 66. (Hindson Towns)
The author of this book is Jude who was athe brother of James and the half brother of
Jesus. The purpose of the book of Jude is to remind the church to stay vigiliant and
to remain strong in the faith and oppose heresy. The audience Jude was writing to
were the Jewish Christians. (Life application study Bible, Jude) There are two key
themes in the book of Jude, false teachers and apostasy. These themes warned the
people about teachers who reject the lordship of Christ and about turning away from

determined but some believe it is an olive grove on the west slope of Mount Olive.
(Gethsemane) Gethsemane is known for the place where Jesus went to pray after
the last supper and before He was betrayed. (Biblica) The story that portrays
Gethsemane being the place where Jesus prayed is in Matthew 26:36 46. In
Matthew at verse 38 it describes how Jesus felt while He was in the garden, My
soul is overwhelmed with sorrow to the point of death. (Biblica) The garden is
mentioned twice in the Bible by its name, the first instance was in the book of
Matthew. Also the garden is mentioned in the book of Mark chapter 14 verse 32.
(Kent) The location of the garden is mentioned in other scriptures, such as, Luke but,
the name, Gethsemane, is not written out. The Bible just refers to the location as
Mount Olives. For many people Gathsemane will ring in their mind as the place

A Character Analysis Of George In Seinfeld s The Pitch
On July 5th 1989, a sitcom was born into this world that would lead television into
a revolution in comedy. Seinfeld was a television sitcom that ran for about nine
seasons hosted by NBC. It was unique in a couple of ways. One of, if not, the best
way it was unique was its entire premise. In the episode, The Pitch, the character
called George sums up the shows premise in one sentence, Everybody s doing
something, we ll do nothing. All the sitcoms around this time, such as the Fresh
Prince of Bel air, all had a very formulaic idea about how the main character, Will,
would hang out with his family and his classmates at school. Also, it followed a strict,

Verizon Sold Off Its Wireline Telephone and Internet...
Bus 588 Current event report Michael Liu Last week, Verizon Communications Inc
sold off about a quarter of its wireline telephone and Internet operations (WSJ). The
company sold its assets to Frontier Communication Corp, a regional telephone
company, for $10.5 billion, and the deal leaded Verizon to exit the wireline phone
service market in Texas, California and Florida. Also, in order to withdraw from the
local wireline phone service market completely, Verizon left millions of FiOS
customers who the company spent around $23 billion and 10 years to develop.
These customers are roughly 1.6 million fewer FiOS internet subscribers who are
about 24% of the company s total, and around 1.2 million fewer FiOS video

But, after the deal, Verizon narrows its other types of business and expand its
wireless business over the next few years. So, the company will have a low levels
of diversification in the future, and the corporate level strategy will become to the
dominant business diversification strategy. The undersell action of Verizon will let
the company focus its pivot of business on wireless market, enhance its core
competence and create more profits in the future. The second reason is because
businesses of wireless have less regulation than wireline phone business. New rules
proposed by the Federal Communications Commission and backed by President
Obama to regulate Internet lines as a utility contributed to the company s decision to
sell (WSJ). These new rules, as we known related to Net Neutrality, will let internet
become free and open. All users will have same internet service, such as high
connection speed and no contents limitation, and network carriers can t provide
different wireline service based on different monthly service fee. So, these new
regulations will limit Verizon s wireline business and decrease the company s revenue
potentially. As Verizon Chief Executive Lowell McAdam said, an important
consideration was the current regulatory uncertainty and the potential impacts on
future investments of a reclassification of
Essay On Merit Pay
Implementation of merit pay can create a negative rivalry among teachers and
districts. Because of decreases in test scores, some schools have begun to offer merit
pay as a way to refocus teachers on the achievement of their students, with the hope
of increasing the effectiveness of teachers (Ciruczak A.11). The increase of
performance pay became a high priority for the United States Department of
Education, especially after the Obama Administration allotted funds for a campaign
called Race to the Top, which distributed around $4.3 billion dollars to schools
throughout the country (Rosales). After the implementation of this program,
feedback came pouring in. According to Kristen Dechert, Mississippi State Research
and Curriculum Unit... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Obviously, the results of the program have the opposite of the desired effect. Teachers
cannot continue abandon students in need and expect things to change. In reality,
these evaluations are hurting teachers so much that they base their effectivity solely
on scores (Froese Germain). Oftentimes, evaluations undermine teamwork and
collectivity among teachers, and on top of that, the teachers are opposed to this
method of computing compensation (Froese Germain). Programs that divide rather
than unite need revamped or replaced, otherwise teachers perception of achievement
will decrease, teamwork will fall apart, and entire districts will suffer.
Merit pay is unfair to special needs teachers due to the lack of equal opportunities for
special education teachers. Some people suspect that public schools enroll
nondisabled students in special education plans simply because they are low
achieving; this is generally an attempt to collect funds from both the state and the
federal governments (Horn, and Tynan 36 53). Many schools want to increase test
scores by not requiring special education students to take them this is primarily
because they do not want the low scores to reflect badly (Tortora, and Whitmire). In
San Antonio, Texas, schools excluded their special education kids from testing, while
Houston, Texas chose to test as many as possible, and as

This amounts to approximately $0.83 per share in the merged firm. The market

Essay on karl marx
Karl Marx is one of the most reputed philosophers of the 19th Century. Born in 1818
in a middle class family, Marx studied law in Bonn and Berlin and later plunged
deeper into the ideas of Hegel and Feurbach (Wheen, 2007). It is after receiving his
doctorate in philosophy in 1841 from the University of Jena that he moved with his
family to Paris where he became a radical revolutionary communist and teamed up
with Friedrich Engels, another radical philosopher of his time. They collectively
authored the pamphlet The Communist Manifesto which was later published in 1848.
In this pamphlet, Marx passionately asserted that all human history was dominated by
class struggles. Furthermore, he predicted that they would culminate into the fall of...

Karl Marx on Class and Class Conflict. According to Karl Marx, society is
stratified into classes. The classes comprise the bourgeoisies, land owners and the
proletariat. The propertied upper class is the minority, while the proletariats are the
majority. Wood (2004) notes Marx s dissection of the dominant features of each of
these classes in most of his works. For example, the bourgeoisies own the means of
production. This is due to the huge investments they have made into factories and
machines in the industries. The land owners have rent as their primary source of
income. The proletariats are owners of cheap labor which they offer in exchange for
wages that they use for their basic subsistence (Collins Sanderson, 2008).
Investment gives the bourgeoisies a lot of profit. Marx conceptualized the structure
of the society in relation to the two major classes. He is focused on the inherent
struggles between the proletariat and bourgeoisies which is the engine that pushes the
occurrence of social change through revolutionary movements. In the understanding
of Marxists, class is defined by the level of wealth and power that one possesses
(Wood, 2004). This power is

  • 2. Summary Of Gender Criticism In Jane Austen s Lady Susan I chose Gender Criticism to analyze the text. From the text, lady Susan has a different female role compares to the other women in her time. She is proud of being a coquette and enjoys the pleasure of subduing men which is not acceptable to the prior generation. There is a cognitive gap of female gender between the old generation and new open generation in the short story, so, I want to figure out the differences in my paper. Jane Austen s Lady Susan is about lady Susan Vernon seeks an advantageous second marriage for herself, while attempting to push her daughter into a dismal match. ( Lady Susan. ) From our textbook, feminist and gender criticism is showing how female literary characters could overcome the sexist power structures that surround them and exercise power in their worlds. (Reading and Writing, 172) Not like women today, in the period of lady Susan, marrying to a wealthy and humorous spouse is the only way to become rich and get happiness. Is it acceptable for a woman to try her best to pursue her happiness and wealth, and hang the cost? My answer is yes and no, but at least the woman should have the choice. Lady Susan uses her beauty and intelligence power, and even her daughter to earn a wealthy life, and some people agree with her, while most people against her behavior. Austen reveals women s strength in different characters in Lady Susan , like ration, brave and independent. In letter IV and VI, although Mrs. Vernon hates lady Susan, when her brother
  • 3. Jocks In Glen Ridge Sports Most citizens saw so wrong doing in what the guys supposedly did and were all concerned about the bright future of these guys. From the things that the guys did to Leslie in her childhood leading up to the trial these things did not raise any alarm to the parents because their children held the title of jocks and their statues were elite. Being jocks gave them flexibility when it came to the rules. Lefkowitz (1997) stated:The fathers and mothers understood the transgressions of jocks because they had experienced them themselves... Jocks acted boorishly on occasion. Sometimes jocks were a little more aggressive with girls than good manners permitted... Parents believed that this behavior fit within the boundaries of boys will be boys. (Loc.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Organization is the corporate aspect of social life the capacity for collective action (Black, 1976). In this case neither the jocks nor Leslie had such. It was the jocks parents who dominated in this aspect of the five types of statues. As Lefkowitz (1997) would describe the parents of Glen Ridge as the backbone it could be assumed that these parents all shared a strong network with one another with their children (jocks) as a common factor. With Leslie parents, they were considered to be outcasts. The judge could have possibly been associated with their network hence a lighter
  • 4. Comparing Animal Farm And The Third Wave The education better known as indoctrination of the characters involved in George Orwell s Animal Farm and the experiment described in The Third Wave [author?] are distinctly similar, through their use of chants to invoke discipleship. Orwell achieves this in Animal Farm through the pigs leaders of the farm who create a maxim that encompasses the entirety of the farm s ideology, Animalism. The maxim is taught to all animals who are unable to remember the Seven Commandments of Animalism; instead, they trumpet, [f]our legs good, two legs bad (50). Through the repetition of the maxim, the animalsare brainwashed until it is seared into their subconscious. Such reinforcement causes all opposing thoughts to vanish, as one comes under the
  • 5. New Physics Essay What is the (next accessible) scale of new physics? We do not have a clear answer. We are living through a challenging and exciting era, in sharp contrast to the situation in the past (half) century in physics. The discovery of the Higgs boson, the determination of the non zero $theta_ {13} $ neutrino mixing parameter, the first detection of gravitation waves, and many significantly improved experimental probes for new physics beyond the standard model mark the great triumphs of our understandings of nature. Profound puzzles of nature, such as hierarchy problem, dark matter, neutrino properties, matter antimatter asymmetry, strong CP, flavor structure, etc., are actively being explored but yet remain to be solved. However, no clear ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... My research on supersymmetry~(SUSY) includes DM physics in conjunction with Higgs boson, SUSY particle searches in scenarios such as compressed spectra, stealthy SUSY and displaced SUSY with long lived particles, as well as using the Higgs bosons as portals to SUSY particles. Moreover, I am experienced and interested in QCD and Jet observables at colliders in both traditional kinematics construction and Machine Learning methods. Furthermore, my research in studies of general resonances also stands out, such as colored resonances, $tbar t$ resonances, $Z^prime$ and $W^prime$ through assorted asymmetries and electroweak radiation observables. Currently, I have pioneered in using unconventional on shell interference effects to between signals and background amplitudes to probe new physics. I have identified several critical processes at the LHC and found these interesting on shell interference effects not only an essential component of the precision programs but also unique probes for BSM physics. What s more, I am working on using angular distributions in boosted $tbar t$ system at the LHC and proposing new searches for exotic long lived particle signatures in stop coannihilation DM scenario in the MSSM and a next to minimal dark matter model. Given the long term planning necessary for next generation experiments and the exciting
  • 6. Goblin Market Sisterhood Goblin Market and Sisterhood At the surface level, Goblin Market appears to be just a children s poem about being a hero and the importance of sisters. Delve into a deeper level and you find, as Lona Mosk Packer puts [an] emotional experience universally valid, (375). Christina Rossetti s poem Goblin Markethas three main themes that critics argue: the importance of sisterhood, the sexual implications and the dangers of erotic love and a Christ like sacrifice. These themes appear through the language used, the allusions and comparisons made throughout. In this poem, there are a lot of implications of Christ and how Lizzie is the embodiment of Christ, even though she is a woman. In the poem, Lizzie is seen as the redeemer of Laura; ... Rossetti spent much of her time helping the sisterhood when she volunteered St. Mary Magdalene Penitentiary in Highgate to help these fallen women and some argue this poem could be about her experiences with these women. In this poem, Rossetti maybe eluding to these women who, Helsinger says are Seduced and abandoned women contemplate their married rivals as successful competitors in a market they have belatedly learned to recognize, (912). Lizzie can be not a Christ like figure, but a sister, figuratively and literally, who is empowered by her sister s need to be saved. We see her ..for the first time in her life/Began to listen and look, (327 28); she is inspired and determined. Even when the goblins have tormented and abused her, she is elated her penny bouncing was music to her ear. As Mermin argues As her laughter indicates, her story has to do not with temptation resisted neither the goblins nor their fruit attract her, and what she is resisting is attempted rape but with danger braved and overcome, an heroic deed accomplished, (9). She is driven by her success and basically runs to finish what she has started. When she returns home, we are introduced to what some describe as an erotic scene between the two sisters. Lizzie enters and says, Eat me, drink me, love me, (471), and Laura responds by repeatedly kissing her

This has been my second trip to this beautiful country even though it was not a vacation trip it ended up been an amazing experience. I arrived to Amsterdam but my destination was a new city for me The Hague, what a surprise! My niece and her husband were renting a condo with a stunning view of Scheveningen beach. It is a beautiful place with a large pier and all kind of restaurants, hotels and children attractions to entertain locals and tourist. The weather was a little chill but the sun shone over the beach making the scene just unforgettable. Full of people relaxing and having fun. The sun is really appreciated there, people does not want to miss a bit of it since the winter days are very short. We walked the original pier and sat at a restaurant to see the kids play and the adults enjoying a beer or a glass of wine. Ysleta Mission for Christianizing the Tigua Indians Ysleta Mission Ysleta, Texas Mission Corpus Christi de la Ysleta, the first mission in Texas, was established by Antonio de OtermГn and Fray Francisco de Ayeta in 1682 and was maintained by Franciscans for christianizing the Tigua Indians. The Tigua came as refugees and captives with the former Governor of New Mexico, Antonio de OtermГn on his retreat to the El Paso area after his unsuccessful attempt to recover New Mexico in the winter of 1681 82 during the Pueblo Revolt. La MisiГіn de la Ysleta del Sur, consecrated in 1682, was built by the Tigua (Tewa, Tiwa) speaking peoples originally from Isleta and Sandia Pueblos in New Mexico. The mission was located east of present day El Paso. • 9. Similarities Between Wilfred Owen And Siegfried Sassoon The poet Siegfried Sassoon saw that war was destructive and it should not happen because it was a waste of human life, Sassoon described the horror of war unsparingly, also, his poems were often based on actual incidents. Wilfred Owen focused his poetry on the particulars of war and the men involved: dirt, muddle, boredom etc, Owen often wrote about the horror of war and the dignity of men. He deeply felt a sense of the appalling wastefulness of war, casualties and the human spirit. The similarities between these two poets are they both tried to record realistic horrors of the war; to have it stopped. They were both angry at the war s brutality, they were also showed very compassionate studies of the circumstances of fighting men. The connection I made between these 2 texts is that they both experienced death, these texts are Memorial Tablet by Siegfried Sassoon and Dulce et Decorum Est by Wilfred Owen. In the poem Memorial tablet, Siegfried Sassoon wrote about a man being forced to fight in the war, the man fought for two bleeding years , but this man was shot My wound was slight, I was hobbling back; and then a shell Burst slick upon the duckboards: so I fell Into the bottomless mud, and lost the light. . In Dulce et Decorum Est Wilfred Owen watched a man choke to death by gas, Wilfred Owen screamed Gas! Gas! Quick, boys! But he could hear someone screaming But someone still was yelling out and stumbling And flound ring like a man in fire or lime... Dim, through

The Dali Museum for instance, offers visitors the opportunity to delve into the fascinating and complex mind of the great Spanish master. War is the term for legalized mass murdering that is organized being that not all countries can simply live in harmony with one another. Like most horrible things, it causes more problems than it solves. The effects of this glorified engagement are demonstrated and analyzed within the novels Johnny Got His Gun by Dalton Trumboand Born on the Fourth of July by Ron Kovic. These two novels are the stories of two soldiers who went into two different wars that caused them to deal with great change that would alter their lives forever. Even though these novels accentuate the concept of soldier s overcoming obstacles, they moreso focus on the adversity of saying goodbye, isolation, and sacrifice that many soldiers must deal with. To begin, both authors discuss the hardships people must go through in order to become soldiers, especially that of having to leave behind loved ones. In Dalton Trumbo s Johnny Got His Gun, he expresses and details the difficulty that many soldiers must go through when he writes about Joe Bonham having to say goodbye to his family and girlfriend. For example, in chapter three it states, Oh Joe Joe I don t want you to go. You think I want to go? I m afraid. (Trumbo 34). In this quote, it is the day before Joe Bonham s departure, and his girlfriend, Kareen, is expressing her fear in him leaving. This shows Bonham s determination to

This word perfectly and appropraitely fits with the theme of the renaissance, meaning exactly that, rebirth, which followed the middle ages. These changes could be seen in the newly rediscovered passion for classical styles and learning that had been almost completely abandoned in the Middle AGes. He sculpted some of the first detailed and realistic works with his models of Saint Mark and Saint George. Another highly influential artist at the time, Raphael, produced a staggering number of paintings in his short, just thirty seven year lifespan. His works included lots of religious images and many depictions of The Madonnas. Another artist, whose style was influenced by both Donatello and Raphael, was Michelangelo. Michelangelo was an accomplished sculptor and painter who fashioned some of the most recognizable works of the Renaissance. He painted many works, including the large and impressive Sistine Chapel Cieling, and The Creation of Adam with the famous finger touching between God and Adam. He also made many iconic sculptures such as David, which is one of the most well known sculptures of all time. One final artist worth noting is of course, Leonardo da Vinci, who is responsible for The Last Supper, Vitruvian Man, and even the most famous work of art in the entire world Mona Lisa. It is truly fascinating to see just how many beautiful and iconic works were produced during this golden age of

  • 18. Theme Of Chaos And Order In Beowulf Chaos and Order in Beowulf The Epic of Beowulf is about many things, one could say. It involves changes of power, darkness and light, overcoming challenges, temptation and destruction, war, et cetera, et cetera. These themes, and many more, make up what are known as major and minor themes. Both are of equal importance to a story in its entirety; the difference being that major themes address the writer s most significant ideas, while minor themes refer to an idea that appears only momentarily. For example: a major theme in Beowulf could be overcoming challenges, because it is one of the main ideas throughout the story. Beowulf defeats Brecca, and Grendel, and Grendel s mother, and the dragon at the end, and had already faced many threats ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... With Grendel dead and gone, order is restored at the hands of Beowulf, and the people s normal merry making begins afresh. This pattern can be seen throughout all of Beowulf s tale. It transpires again when Grendel s mother comes seeking revenge for her dead son, and kills Hrothgar s closest friend. Chaos returns, the people are in dismay once again, along with Hrothgar; uncertain of what to do. Hrothgar pleads with Beowulf to kill Grendel s mother, which he does willingly; reestablishing order in Hrothgar s kingdom. Soon thereafter, Hrothgar dies, leaving his kingdom not to either of his sons, but to Beowulf. He rules well for fifty years, keeping the balance of chaos and order in check. It is here that the pattern of chaos to order is altered. With Beowulf as king, the Danes land had no fear of monsters attacking again, and any wars that may have taken place were small enough that true turmoil did not exist again until Beowulf himself was old and grey. That was when the dragon awoke. A runaway slave seeking respite from an angry master found his way into the dragon s barrow and inadvertently stole a precious golden goblet from the hoard of treasure he found there. Outraged, the dragon roused itself and took flight. Pandemonium ensued as towns and cities were burned out of the dragon s anger. Beowulf s heart broke as he discovered his hometown had been reduced to charred ruins, and vowed to kill

One of the most important nutrients that the sun provides for humans, as well as other organisms is vitamin D. Unfortunately, vitamin D deficiency has recently been labeled a widespread, infectious disease. The main cause of vitaminD deficiency is the belief that any exposure to the sun will be harmful so many avoid being in the sun. Another cause of vitamin Ddeficiency is the fact that there is a minimal amount of food that naturally contains enough vitamin D to supply our needs adequately. Vitamin D deficiency is known to cause rickets, osteopenia, osteoporosis, and bone fractures. It also has been linked to an increase risk of common cancers, autoimmune diseases, hypertension, and infectious diseases. Prose medium differentiates itself from poetry in the use of unmetered, unrhymed language consisting of logically related sentences (Gale). Oddly enough, Hemmingway, a staunch hunter and outdoorsman, perished not from natural causes, but from a self inflicted gun shot wound. While living through the same period, Ernest Hemmingway and William Faulkner, another prominent figure in literature of the period, were vastly different. William Faulkner had the creative ability to portray reality, in words, in a more realistic manner than reality itself. He did this in stark contrast to Hemmingway s short simple sentences by employing long sentences and many words to weave an intricate picture of what is going on (Associated). In order to fully process what Faulkner is saying, a person of less than average intelligence may do well to have a dictionary standing by, while Hemmingway can be read by the vast majority. This is not saying that Faulkner is any less successful at getting the reader to understand the point of the work, but it may appeal to a smaller audience. While Faulkner and Hemmingway may differ on the avenues they utilize, they are similar in that their works center on conflict. Hemmingway captures the audience with external conflicts, wars and confrontational situations. Faulkner, on the other

Significance Of The Treaty Of Versailles Madison Welzbacher September 19, 2014 World History Significance of the Treaty of Versailles World War I was a devastating war that had a long lasting effect on every European country. After the assassination of Franz Ferdinand, the heir to the Austrian throne, and his wife by the hands of a Serbian terrorist group known as the Black Hand. Germany urged Austria Hungary to attack Serbia, but Russia stepped up to protect the country. Germany ambushed Belgium, and proceeded to Russia, throwing Great Britain into the war due to their alliance with Belgium. As a result, the continent of Europe, including Great Britain, Italy, Russia, Austria Hungary, and France, was plunged into a great World War. The war lasted from 1914 to 1918, and it left Germany singled out as the catalyst. In November 1918, Germany finally agreed to an Armistice, a halt in the fighting, but they did not consider themselves to be surrendering. At the time, the Germans believed that they would play a role in constructing the treaty that would end the war, but when the time came, they were not allowed to participate. This measurement is an important measure of performance; it symbolizes how well the product the project produced works. Summary Of Juana Ines s You Foolish Men In her writing, we see Juana did not detest romance, but the possessive demeaner men took on and as previously discussed she was not fond of being controlled. Since I m Condemned criticizes men that take on this behavior similarly to the way You Foolish Men berates the hypocritical insults and indecisiveness of men. Juana Ines never married, but before becoming a nun, her eclectic personality and outspokenness attracted the attention of many admirers. Fabio , a recurring character in Ines s work, is an amalgamation of the characteristics that she found despicable in the men around her. The first stanza sets the stage for Ines s Dramatic monologue as a confession. She sounds resigned and complacent to being condemned to death by Fabio s decree, however she is not amused in the slightest and calls the sentencing wrathful or wild. In line five, she goes on to say that there is no criminal so guilty as to be denied confession. This is a clear example of what Juana Ines was praised for, playing the system against itself with her rhetoric and wit. In this time women were preferred to be kept silent, by bringing in the argument of confession, a staple of Catholicism, she has given herself a platform to speak that the men cannot deny without being perceived as Sacrilegious. The seventh line can be interpreted in few ways: either it is referring to Fabio s education therefore higher status or it suggests gossip relating to Juana Ines. Whatever the case may be it causes Fabio to take offence at De La Cruz chest. Chests, here, refers to gender; Juana is asking if people are more willing to believe in him because he is a man than the established truth that many others have experienced. She asks Fabio why he is able to trust the eyes of others, but not his own. She assures him that this gossip will get her killed. In line seventeen the tone in the writing begins to change from a dramatic rebuttal to subtle sarcastic wit. To illustrate how outrageous she sees Fabio s anger, Ines comes up with increasingly overdone punishments to normal interactions with other men. She asks to be killed if she has looked at someone else s eyes, to never be happy if she looks at any other with happiness, and to have her soul chased

Binge drinking is defined as a drinking consumption of over 5 drinks at a time (Presley, Meilman and Lyerla, 1995; Wechsler, Davenport, Dowdall, Moeykens, Castillo, 1994, cited in Fillmore, M.T. 2001), and there is an increase in frequent drinking and alcohol related problems among students (Mohr et al 2005). With this severe impact, Kuntsche, Knibbe, Gmel and Engels (2006) points out that there is a long tradition about research on drinking motivations for young people. Broadly speaking, there are two motivational models of alcohol use (Cooper, 1994). One is the particular Motivational Model of Alcohol Use developed by Cox and Klinger in 1988, which presume that people drink in order to achieve an anticipative need. It promotes individuals to make decisions combined by emotional and rational thinking about whether to drink or not (Cox Klinger, 1988). The other motivational model is the assumption that drinking behavior caused by difference is characterized by unique patterns of antecedents and consequences(Cutter and O Farrell,1984). Based on Cox and Klinger s conceptual model, Cooper(1994) gives a research to develop and validate a four factor model. This research collected data from a representative sample of 1243 adolescents including blacks and whites participants completed a questionnaire including about 20 reasons for drinking, all related to four motivations: social motivation, enhance motivation, coping motivation and conformity motivation. Since it is the study of scientific society, human social life, more than aggregate of individuals. In order to understand any issue related to sociology such as race, gender, caste, culture and marriage etc. We need to understand its three main perspectives, functionalist perspective, conflict theory and symbolic interactionism. Functionalist Perspective is all about progress in the society through harmony, because society has a system which is interconnected Therefore, we need to maintain a state of balance and social equilibrium for the whole Herbert Spencer, Emile Durkheim, Talcott Parsons and Robert Merton have largely contributed to functionalism. Conflict Theory views life as competition, distribution of limited resources, power. Its main criteria is to maintain social order by dominance and power instead of harmony. Karl Marx is the one to put forward the conflict theory. Unlike conflict theory and functionalist perspective, symbolic interactionism neither deals with harmony in the society nor with the society with dominance or power. In fact it deals with the interaction that includes gestural communication. Max Weber contributed for the symbolic interactionism. Sociologywas first coined in 1780 in France. Then, it was again independently defined by the one of the founding fathers of sociology, Auguste Comte. Comte was successful in bringing scientific

Because of decreases in test scores, some schools have begun to offer merit pay as a way to refocus teachers on the achievement of their students, with the hope of increasing the effectiveness of teachers (Ciruczak A.11). The increase of performance pay became a high priority for the United States Department of Education, especially after the Obama Administration allotted funds for a campaign called Race to the Top, which distributed around $4.3 billion dollars to schools throughout the country (Rosales). After the implementation of this program, feedback came pouring in. According to Kristen Dechert, Mississippi State Research and Curriculum Unit... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Obviously, the results of the program have the opposite of the desired effect. Teachers cannot continue abandon students in need and expect things to change. In reality, these evaluations are hurting teachers so much that they base their effectivity solely on scores (Froese Germain). Oftentimes, evaluations undermine teamwork and collectivity among teachers, and on top of that, the teachers are opposed to this method of computing compensation (Froese Germain). Programs that divide rather than unite need revamped or replaced, otherwise teachers perception of achievement will decrease, teamwork will fall apart, and entire districts will suffer. Merit pay is unfair to special needs teachers due to the lack of equal opportunities for special education teachers. Some people suspect that public schools enroll nondisabled students in special education plans simply because they are low achieving; this is generally an attempt to collect funds from both the state and the federal governments (Horn, and Tynan 36 53).
