Hegel s Views On Religion
Religion for Hegel was something that was discussed throughout some of his different writings,
and was something that he had strong views on. It can be argued that his view on religion in the
state for the citizens creates the most liberal society when comparing with that of Locke or
Hobbes for those who desire to practice their faith. He gives the choice to be involved in religion, or
not, and shows how religion can benefit the functioning of civil society.
Hegel s views on religion in the state cannot be sufficiently aligned with that of Hobbes or
Locke, and Hegel s views are very much his own. In a sense, he combines elements of both of
these two writers, and takes aspects that make it difficult to draw a final conclusion that his ideas
are more like one than the other. Hegel s views on religion in relation to politics greatly differ
from that of Hobbes and Locke, but he believes that religion can play a vital role in creating ethical
political communities. Practicing your faith can provide information on morals to live by, ad create
a stronger society.
Hegel believed that Christianity is able to become a public religion that all citizens can become a
part of. He thinks this religion is important because it aligns itself closely with his views on the
way of living an ethical life, and he believed that you can only become ethical by having this
religious support and faith in something. Christianity can be argued to be a religion of Sittlichkeit.
This religion ultimately

Memory E. B White Analysis
I believe E. B. White was successful in creating a piece about memory. The use of his descriptive
sentence structure throughout the piece transported the reader to that very lake in Maine he wrote
of. Furthermore I felt as if I was there watching it happen in front of me. He thoroughly described
each setting in such great detail that I recalled memories of my own with my father. We would go
camping and fishing on a lake in South Carolina much similar to the one E.B. White described.
These trips took place in the month of July when the heat was at its peak, mosquitoes abound,
crickets and frogs sang in unison, the smell of DEET smothered all over my body and the late
evening thunderstorms which brought wind, rain and lightning. These were some

Chipping Vs Pitching
Chipping
There are some newer Golfers who confuse chipping and pitching . The difference is that chipping
is more similar to putting. A chipping swing is more restricted to just the shoulders and arms. Your
body remains still.
What makes a good chip shot is a proper setup and swing. Whenever you set up to make a chip
shot you need to use an open stance . Keep your feet and hips opened slightly toward your target.
It s natural for this stance to feel a bit odd at first. However, it s necessary for giving your arms
the room they need to swing through your target. When you make a chip shot and use a square
stance, your wrists are at risk of unhinging.
Play your ball toward the back foot while narrowing your stance. Utilize a neutral grip ... Show

You should wiggle your feet and firmly plant them into the sand. Now choke down ever so
slightly on the club. Your ball is usually played off your left foot but can be adjusted as needed.
Whenever you re ready to take your swing, bring the club back as far as necessary to hit your
ball. To have a successful down swing you ll have to accelerate your club head while making
contact with your ball.
Be sure your club enters the sand at least 1 or maybe 2 inches behind your ball. Allow your club
to do all the work while it enters the sand. Avoid trying to scoop your ball upward and out.
A crucial element of all sand shots is to accelerate through impact . This is especially true when
the sand is wet or packed tightly. The acceleration will be the one single thing keeping the club
head from stopping as it impacts its way through the sand.
A sand shot follow through has to be full as well as smooth without any sudden stops. Keep the
head down and avoid the urge to eye the ball as it s coming out.
Week 3 Weekly Task #3
Be sure to spend some time practicing greens and sand areas. Try out different clubs and vary the
depth of the ball from up on top to almost buried. That s the way you master your sand

important it is to reduce their current environmental impact, alternative energy sources like solar
and wind powered energy are becoming more prominent as eco friendly alternatives to current
unsustainable methods of power such as fossil fuels (BBC, n.d.) The purpose of this report is to
identify the best suited alternative energy sources for a call center based on information the
company has provided such as the area and space available, average wind speed, solar energy
reach and average ground temperatures. 2. Description of current situation The call center is in a
rural location and consumes 200MWh of energy annually; 150MWh of this is used for space
heating. Electrical storage heating is currently being used, with each off peak unit of electricity
costing ВЈ0.06 (April 2008). The company now wishes to reduce their environmental impact and if
possible, energy costs. The following report will discuss several microgeneration systems and

Danne Orrington Toilet Essay
Danze Orrington Toilet Review
Not many people have heard of a Danze toilet. This is a shame because they are perhaps missing
out on the perfect toilet for their home. This simple fact is proven by the few people who have
decided to purchase it and their 5 star ratings. To learn more, you should take a look at our Danze
Orrington toilet review to learn about its features and what others think of it.
Features of the Danze Orrington
The Orrington is a one piece toilet that is Water Sense certified. This means it is a high efficiency
toilet. It uses only 1.28 gallons of water per flush. This makes it ideal for anyone who wants to
keep the cost down on their water bill or those who are hoping to create an efficient home.
It is an elongated toilet that requires a 12 rough in. The rim height is 16 1/2 inches, which is
perfect for people who have issues getting up from the toilet. As proof of this, it is ADA certified.
The seat height puts a person sitting at about 17.5 inches
The Danze toilet has a 3 inch flush valve and a bowl that is fully glazed on the inside. This lessens
the chance of toilet stains and ensures that when you flush, the toilet will flush out waste and dirty
water quickly.
Included with your purchase of this toilet is a soft close seat, an angle mounted tank lever that is
brushed nickel in color, and bowl ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

common. They all love this toilet. They have not found any reason not to love it and they feel
that if others were to give it a try, they would also be satisfied with it in every way that counts.
They like that it is a one piece toilet. They love that it sits higher than most toilets and they all state
that it is the strongest and fastest flushing toilet they have seen. These owners also state that it is
easy to clean and flushes well enough to be comparable to some of the other high end

Difference Between Service Quality And Customer Satisfaction
Introduction:
Service quality represents a fundamental aspect of delivery, which strongly influences consumer
satisfaction and, as a result, loyalty. In today s global market a customer s service expectation has
to be met and exceeded eventually in order to retain customers as well as achieve success.
Perceived quality of a product or a service is becoming one of the major competitive factors in the
business world and has led to the innovation of the Quality Era (Peeler, 1996). In simple words, the
comparison of customer expectations with service performance is service quality. On the other
hand, customer satisfaction is defined as a pleasurable fulfilment response toward a good, service,
benefit, or reward (Oliver, 1997). Both of these ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Sureshchandra, Rajendran and Anantharaman (2002) identified five critical aspects of service
quality from the customers point of view namely core service/service product, human element of
service delivery, systematisation of service delivery, tangibles of service and lastly social
responsibility in order to conceptualise service quality. Table 1 will further provide an explanation
to the five critical aspects of service quality as outlined by Sureshchandra et al (2002).
Table 1:
SI.no.Critical FactorsExplanation of the critical factors
1.Core service or Service productBasically means the content of a service.
2.Human element of service deliveryRefers to all aspects that fall under the domain of human
element in the service delivery namely reliability, responsiveness, assurance, empathy, moments of
truth, critical incident and recovery.
3.Systematisation of service delivery: non human elementThe procedures, processes, systems
technology that would make a service a flawless one.
4.Tangibles of service servicescapesThe manmade physical environment (servicescapes) or the
tangible facets of the service facility (equipment, machinery, signage, employee appearance etc.)
5.Social ResponsibilityEvery organisation has an obligation to act to benefit the society at large in
an ethical framework. This helps in maintaining and developing the organisations image and
consequently influences the customers overall evaluation

Essay on A Fictional Account of Early Iceland
A Fictional Account of Early Iceland
The origin and evolution of saga writing in Iceland are largely matters for speculation. A common
pastime on Icelandic farms, from the 12th century down to modern times, was the reading aloud of
stories to entertain the household, known as sagnaskemmtun ( saga entertainment ). It seems to
have replaced the traditional art of storytelling (Hermann Palsson, pg. 1). Njal s Saga uses Old
Icelandic writing convention and historical data to give a fictional account of a generation s
lifestyle and struggles.
Icelandic literature has become very valuable because historians have realized the great amount of
truth that can be found in each saga. According to one historian, the sagas have proven to be ...

1). Animal products provided the mainstay of the Icelandic diet. An emphasis on dairy cattle and
sheep meant that lamb and beef and dairy products such as cheese and whey were relatively
plentiful, especially following good seasons (Gary Martin, pg. 2)
Despite the abundance of food, as more settlers came, the resources were slowly depleted:
The following episode from Grettir s Saga is likely to have been typical: as soon as Eirik knew
that Onund had arrived he offered to give him anything he wanted, and added that there was not
much land still unclaimed. Onund said he would like first to see what land was available. So
they went south across the fjords, and when they reached Ofaera, Eirik said, Now you can have
a look at it. From here on the land is unclaimed up to Bjorn s settlement. (Gary Martin, p.2).
Clearly this famine was a historical, recorded event since there are also reports of a shortage of
foodstuffs in Njal s Saga. This was a time of great famine in Iceland, and all over the country people
were going short of hay and food (Njal s Saga, Ch. 47). So it is clear that Njal s Saga includes
some factual information, yet still remains a fictional narrative.
Instead of creating a form of law enforcement, the Icelanders usually took matters into their own
hands. This is can be seen in the many killings that occur in Njal s Saga. The Icelandic people had
developed a feud system,

Go Set A Watchman Analysis
Award winning author, Harper Lee in her novel, Go Set a Watchman addresses racial
controversy during the 1950s. Lee s purpose is to create a story that many will love, while
showing her views on racism and how she felt during this time. She creates a controversial tone
in order to make people think about her views while also using familiar characters, which makes
the readers eager to have an update on these beloved characters. Although this novel created
racial tensions, Lee uses her writing skills, ethos, pathos, and logos by connecting the audience
to the story and bridging a gap between the fictional world and reality. Lee s novel combines
issues going on in the real world, while constructing a story that can relate to the readers. Lee s
first novel made people think about how racism affects the world, and she instantly became a
credible author. Lee was born in 1926, which makes her a primary source for the information on
the racial outburst in the 1950s. In Lee s first novel, To Kill a Mockingbird, she uses the quote,
You never really understand a person until you consider things from his point of view (Harper
Lee, To Kill a Mockingbird). This quote is arguably the most famous line from the novel, and it
tests the readers to fight against racism. As an author during this time, Lee had the ability to
educate the audience about the truth of what life was like in the south during this time, while
offering a lovable and relatable story. Since this novel is a sequel to

Sister Carrie and the American Dream
The American Dream is surely based on the concept of Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of
Happiness but it is above all, a matter of ambition. James Truslow Adams, an American writer
and historian, in 1931 states: life should be better and richer and fuller for everyone, with
opportunity for each according to ability or achievement , which not only points towards a better
standard of living for Americans but also denounces a degree of greed in the US society. Ambition
not only killed the cat but killed relationships as well in texts like Sister Carrie and Death of a
Salesman. While the American Dreamwas supposed to be a collective success at its initial stage,
ambition, along with a pinch of greed and materialism were perfect ingredients... Show more

When I walked out I was twenty one. And, by God, I was rich!
Through Ben, Miller s play suggests that one must be ruthless, sometimes even wild, in order to
achieve success. This very dynamic approach towards the American Dream is what makes Willy
Loman envious of his brother s success and machismo. The contrast between a passive approach
and dynamic ambition towards the realization of the American Dream is the cause of rift in a
brother relationship between Willy and Ben. Another instance of rift in relationships in regards to
ambition and the American Dream can be found in the father son relationship between Willy and
his son Biff. Willy always believed that personality, not hard work or innovation, was the key to
success. His personal views even justified adultery. This is where conflicts arose; Biff was against
this trait of his father s personality. It is only after learning about Willy s infidelity that Biff decides
to pursue his own American Dream. However, he is torn between two American Dreams: becoming
a salesman like his father or immersing himself in nature. Different ambitions and perceptions of the
American Dream eventually led to Biff being convinced that his father had the wrong dream. At this
point, the arising question is: is ambition contributing towards the realization of an American

Stress In The Baboons
This episode features Stanford University s Neurobiologist, Robert Sapolsky, who has a high
understanding of stress and how it affects our not just our health, but our bodies. The main point
Robert is conveying to the audience states that stress leads to serious health consequences, such
as high blood pressure, weakened immune system, fatigue, development of fat and even the
shortening of life expectancy. Robert Sapolsky researches the science behind human stress by
exploring non human primates, the baboons in their natural habitat in Kenya, Africa. After thirty
years of research, Sapolsky believes that baboons are apparently the perfect source of
exemplifying human stress because they are naturally aggressive toward one another, including
their offspring, and the pain and stress factors appear to be the same in humans; especially
dealing with stressful jobs and verbally abusive bosses. In the baboon s case, if you are a full
controlled male, you can expect lower stress levels, and if you are the submissive, abused baboon,
the stress level can be much higher. The only way Robert can take a look at the serious health
consequences related to human stress in the baboon is by taking the unsuspecting submissive
monkey s blood and examining the stress hormones in the lab. The results of a submissive baboon
revealed high blood... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Literary Interpretation In Kich By Carolyn Kizer s Bitch
Carolyn Kizer s Bitch is describing the unnamed woman s feelings towards an ex lover from an
unspecified time in the past, which she has just encountered. The woman was extremely hurt by
the ex and has a lot of anger deep inside towards this person, but does not want to demonstrate it.
The main image is the speaker and the ex lover running into one another and catching up. Now,
when he and I meet, after all these years, I say to the bitch in me, don t start growling. (Kizer
1,2). The tone of the poem is angry, sad, and reflects a relationship where she was hurt and misses
the other person. The woman tries to control her inner feelings when she encounters the man,
concealing her true feelings with polite conversation. Just by the tone of her inner feelings, you
can see the woman thinks the man from her past caused her harm. The woman of Carolyn Kizer s
Bitch provides a satiric interpretation of a typical meeting between her and an ex lover since the
end of their relationship. In a single, thirty four line stanza, the woman participates in a witty
monologue that displays a ideally ironic division: the woman s two coinciding but opposite
interchanges, one entailing of the woman s external conversation with her former lover and the
other of silent warnings, threats, and clarifications to her inner self, represented in the poem as a
bitch. The speaker is camouflaging compelling emotions with external civility. While the hiding of
true feelings is an everyday

To Kill A Mockingbird Dystopian Essay
The Oxford English Dictionary defines dystopia as an imagined place or state in which
everything is unpleasant or bad, typically a totalitarian or environmentally degraded one. The
novel To Kill a Mockingbird is a sad novel with mystery and excitement. There is prejudice
against black people, and little seems to be right. One may wonder if the book meets the
standards of a dystopian novel. The book overall does not meet the qualifications of a dystopian
novel for many reasons. To start, the first reason that To Kill a Mockingbird is not a dystopian
novel is its setting. A dystopian novel usually has a futuristic science fictionsetting. The novel is
set in the tired old town of Maycomb, Alabama during the 1930 s (Lee 5). There are no advanced
technological advancements; it is a plain simple town. Macomb, while it is fictional, is very
realistic. To Kill a Mockingbird does not match the setting of a typical dystopian novel like
Fahrenheit 451 and Hunger Games. Both of those books fit the cookie cutter dystopian book
perfectly as far as the setting of each novel goes.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

pp. 317 331.
This paper outlines a critical appraisal for a research paper conducted by Cathy Byrne (2012).
Byrnes paper is an exploratory case study into the impact of segregated religious instruction in
public schools. She argues that segregated religious instruction influences identity development and
may lead to exclusionary behaviours in students. This essay argues that Byrnes use of an
exploratory research design is an appropriate and useful approach as this method provides the
researcher with a greater understanding of the topic and allows the researcher to gain clarity in
defining the nature of the research problem (Manerika Manerika , 2014, p.95). It also helps Byrne
define a problem statement for her future research. However, the nature of this approach is
associated with significant limitations, which in Byrnes paper, were coupled with problems in the
research title and method that affected the believability and validity of the study. There are also
issues with the overall argument of the paper which is based on the assumption that Special
Religious Education in Australian schools are segregated without defining segregation or
adequately proving that grouping students by religious identity for religious

Survey Questions On Starbucks Corporation
Name: Shanice Forbes and Sharifa Small
Fair Trade: Starbucks Corporation
Methods
Survey Questions
The survey questions mostly consisted of multiple choice questions, two open ended questions,
allowing written responses, and one qualitative response question. These questions were chosen to
establish consumers differences and comparative perspective of Starbuck s competitors, their daily
usage of the social media platforms, the coffee shops visited frequently, and their opinions on
consumers who frequent Starbucks. The survey contains one matrix/rating scale question (
Appendix I, Question 5) based on how important qualities are when choosing a coffee shop.
Lastly, there were two demographic questions. The demographic questions are for a general
understanding on consumers behavior based on age group and gender. For an overview of the

Survey Development The purpose of the survey entitled Starbucks Corporation Survey was to
determine if the recent Starbucks Public Relations campaigns have been effective at reaching
consumers (See appendix I, Question 6 for complete list of campaigns options), to learn more
about consumers buying behaviors towards Starbucks compared to it competitors, and the
characteristics of consumers loyalty. The survey was created through Survey Monkey by the

pollution, then there exists a variety of cheap and easy ways to reduce pollution hence an increase
in marginal benefits. However, if the event that an environmental protection rises, then cheap and
readily available ways of reducing pollution start to decrease hence requiring more costly methods
to be employed. As the extent of environmental regulation rises, additional expenditures related to
environmental protection will most likely lead to increased marginal costs and decreased marginal
benefits. This pattern would suggest that the cost savings and flexibility nature of market oriented
environmental policies would be very important (Harrington Morgenstern, 2013).

Comparison Of King Richard III And Looking For Richard
To understand the complexity of the lineage of the English monarchy, it is imperative to make a
connection between present values and those of the past. While contemporary society demonstrate
an appreciation of William Shakespeare s play King Richard III (1851) it is not one of his plays
they can readily connect with. Al Pacino s docu drama, Looking for Richard, (henceforth Looking
for...) (1996) attempts to bridge that gap through intertextual connections. Both composers elucidate
their respective contexts through their exploration of the English monarch, King Richard III,
through their representation of the Elizabethan struggle for power and Pacino s attempts to connect
the post modern world to the 16th century. Pacino attempts to transform the Elizabethan play in

Shakespeare uses the short stage direction: they fight; Richard is slain followed by the
animalistic and savage metaphor of the bloody dog is dead to convey Richard s death. He uses
animal imagery conveyed by Richmond along with the sudden and immediate death of Richard
after he is willing to trade a kingdom for a horse to show his audience that God has carried out
divine retribution due to Richard s Machiavellian nature. Pacino transformed this scene so that it
lead to a deeper understanding by his mainly secular 20th century audience. By undermining
Richmond s inglorious victory by having the soldiers shoot an arrow into Richard s back, Pacino
shows that Richard s death was unfair. He also removed Richmond s monologue to take the
audience s attention away from Richmond s speech about god and the righteousness of divine
retribution. Thus, by portraying conscience as being more important than divine retribution, Pacino
transformed Shakespeare s King Richard III to suit his context where Richard s guilt killed

Motion Picture History
Before World War I, films were being made mostly European countries and in Japan. When the war
interrupted European filmmaking, however, the American film industry began to dominate the
world market. In the years between 1917 and 1927 the silent film reached the peak of its
development. United States had the largest filmindustry and American films dominated the
international market. Germany and Japan still had some movie industries but mostly left to
domestic. Many nations found film production as a matter of importance to national culture,
sometimes by limiting on film imports. D. W. Griffith transformed early day of domestic

Lee De Forest, who exhibited brief sound films to the public in 1923, pioneered both of these
developments. Although the public failed to respond to De Forest s sound films, electronics
manufacturers continued to experiment with both sound on film and phonograph discs
synchronized with film. In 1926, Warner Brothers released a program using synchronized discs;
it included short talking and musical films and a silent feature, Don Juan , with a synchronized
accompaniment. William Fox in 1927, and later that year he also released the first sound
newsreels released a short sound on film comedy with spoken dialogue. Public acceptance of
sound came on Oct. 6, 1927, when Warner Brothers presented Al Jolson singing and saying a few
words in The Jazz Singer . The first full length all sound film was The Lights of New York , issued
by Warner Brothers in 1928. The success of sound revolutionized the film industry. Theaters had
to install sound projection equipment, and film studios had to find methods of soundproofing
cameras and stages. Movement in most of the early sound films appeared static, because cameras
had to be enclosed in soundproof boxes that were difficult to move. Eventually cameras with
noiseless gears were developed; microphones were put on booms, or poles, which could be
extended as needed. Early

Compare And Contrast Relative Dating And Radioactive Dating
There is multiple ways to determine the age of fossils. Two well known techniques are relative
dating and radioactive dating. Even though they are similar, they both come at the situation a
different way. They are both different and they have their own techniques. Relative dating uses the
location within the rocks layers. Radioactive dating uses information that they gather from the
decay of radioactive substances within an object. What s the difference in relative and radioactive
dating? All though, both of these techniques are used for the same thing, they are very different
from each other. They both use different types of things to measure how old the fossils are.

They were able to learn about dinosaurs and how old they were and when they were discovered
by radioactive dating. Radioactive dating allows scientist to record things in the past. In order to
do this, they have to use the ratios of isotopes to determine the age of the rocks and fossils. Some
chemicals that they use in radioactive dating are Carbon, uranium and potassium. Each one of
these elements are made up of atoms. In each atom, there is a nucleus. Inside of that, we find a
neutron, and when they become unstable, they let go of energy. When they let go of this energy,
it is called radioactivity. It occurs when the nucleus has an excessive amount of neutrons. The
variation of neutrons are called isotopes. Isotopes are a form of an element that are unstable.
When going through radioactivity, the unstable isotopes break down and form a new element.
The isotopes are never destroyed but they turn into something else. As far as the accuracy goes,
people are proven to believe that this is a very accurate method. They say this because radioactive
dating is based on radioactive decay of unstable isotopes. They have ways of proving that this
method is in fact correct and very accurate. They say that radioactive

Fiber Optic Biosensors
Abstract:
This paper studies the clinical use of fiber optic biosensors, its advantages over traditional means of
detection and limitations of this new technology. An in depth study of its history, how the
technology works, and comparisons with older methods of bio sensing will also be made.
Introduction:
A biosensor is a device or method that allows a certain specific biological material to be detected.
Common forms of detection are Fluorescence techniques, Raman Scattering, Plasmon Resonance,
Near infrared Spectroscopy and diffuse reflectance spectroscopy. These detection methods each
have distinct advantages and disadvantages, and can adapt to a variety of different applications for
different situations. However, traditional methods of biosensing usually requires the molecule to be
labeled with an analyte, which must be chemically bound the molecule that is to be detected,
making such methods slow, cumbersome and sometimes even toxic to the body.... Show more

Besides being used in biosensing, fiber optics has been used in various telecommunication and high
speed networks around the world, replacing or supplementing traditional copper wires. This is due
to the rapid advancement of relatively new technologies from fiber optics: the laser and the low
cost of fiber optics production. Fiber optic biosensors also have excellent light permeability, easy
and cheap to manufacture, able to illuminate the target with light and also able to transmit the light
that is emitted by the target after

The insight into human consciousness that Lewis H. Lapham discussed in Homo Faber is set
within experience. The experiences of new discoveries as recorded by Alexander Humboldt and
Charles Darwin was something exciting, wonderful, and vast which gave them the power to learn,
and recognize the surrounds around them. The Earth is always changing and the discoveries that
these men made was through their own senses and emotions which then was translated to word.

So much of an enterprise s IT infrastructure today involves networking technology hardware and
software that it is virtually impossible to conceive of low carbon emissions without addressing the
networking aspect of the infrastructure. Green networking in essence is just a reference to the
principle of gaining a more efficient networking infrastructure that utilizes less energy. Broadly
speaking, the only way to achieve green networking is build the concept of energy awareness into
the actual design of the network architecture before it is built out (Bianzino, Chaudet, Rossi
Rougier). Corporate managers that become hyper sensitive to the energy profile of their
organization can reduce energy usage simply by being more cognizant of how they manage the
network. This research project explores these and related elements of the green networking concept
in greater detail. Analysis and Discussion There are a variety of ways in which an enterprise can
improve the efficiency of its networking infrastructure. Specifically, designing the network
architecture and infrastructure from the outset to operate more efficiently is the optimal approach
to take. The importance of addressing green networking imperatives this early in the planning and
development stage of the networking effort is because the efficiency gains can not only reduce the
energy usage and the total cost of ownership of the network but it can also reduce the initial costs
of the network (Minoli).

Working Rights In The Late 1800s And Early 1900s
The working conditions and working rights in the late 1800s and early 1900s were lacking and
required some help to make more humane. Before any of the laws that helped reform our nation,
working in mines or factories was dangerous and not worth the effort. Secondly, the hours were
unethical, as workers sometimes had to toil away for 12 hours, seven days a week with a one
day break every two weeks. Workers who were fighting for their rights were not alone, as there
were some people who also believed morality was more important at the moment. The changes
made were for the better and made the world of hard labor a better place. Thankfully, these rules
were not ever taken away and people now live to know that they will earn the money and rights that
they deserve.
A miner from the 1800s had to work hard for little bits of money. One specific miner went to a
school with his three brothers, although it was not a good school since schools back then were
not the best, until he was twelve, when he went to pick slate. There were five kids that worked
there, one of which was crushed by 50 tons of rock one week before he was to get married. There
were many risks in mining, like falling rock, miner s asthma, powder, smoke, poisonous gases, and
bad air. Miners were living unfair lives and that was fixed well (Doc 1). In 1902, Theodore
Roosevelt helped the lives of mine workers by decreasing the time for miners to work from 12
hours to 9. Roosevelt also gave workers a wage increase,

Transaction Processing Systems ( Tps )
ONE.
To start a business, businesses must conduct the business targets and raise the capital through
business processes. They must deal with all of suppliers, customers, products and services, etc.
Business processes are defined as a set of activities that will complete specific organization goals for
particular customers. A firm well organized business process can demonstrate through the ability of
organizing work activities, managing information, and improving production technology.
With today new technology, information system is a set of collecting, processing, storing, and
distributing information to support and control an organization. Information system makes it
possible for firms to manage their information to make better decisions and speed up the
accomplishment of business processes. In order to use information systems effectively, one needs to
understand the fundamental organization, management, and information technology of the
information systems.

Essay On Puritan Theology
Puritan Theology
Puritans always had very strict beliefs.Among these beliefs the puritans thought sin should not be
expressed and a sinner should be shamed, hell is the single most terrifying thing so they instilled
fear to get people to convert, and they are the city on a hill so they should lead by example and be
the best. In the sermons Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God, A Model of Christian Charity, and a
Sermon Preached by Samson Occom the authors talk about some of these puritan beliefs.
Puritans thought of themselves as the elect . The elect is a group of people who were predestined
to be saved by God. John Winthrop knows that the puritans believe that and plays it to his
advantage. He uses this quote to prove to the puritans they ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

He directly states the eyes of all people are upon us. Thus giving the puritans validation. He say
this to win the over and get them to see his side by telling something they already believe. He used
the puritan theology to prove his point. Another major aspect of puritan theology is the fear they
instilled into the public. They always made hell seem so atrocious (as they should have). They did
this to get people to convert to their religion. Edwards plays with idea, almost like Winthrop did,
to establish fear to get the puritans to confess and be saved. One quote that really stood out was,
The wrath of God burns against them; their damnation does not slumber; the pit is prepared; the
fire is made ready; the furnace is now hot; ready to receive them; the flames do now rage and
glow. The glittering sword is whet and held over them, and the pit hath opened her mouth under
them. The devil stands ready to fall upon them, and seize them as his own (Edwards

There are many different theories that attempt to describe the learning process. The theorists came
out with some methods and approaches to be applied in the language teaching in the classroom.
Approaches consist of specific principles in the language teaching and to apply these approaches,
methods are needed which include various procedures and techniques. In this coursework, I would

The Sacrificial System in the Hebrew Scriptures
Korban Chova: Obligatory Sacrifices
Korban Khatat Sin Offerings (Literally sacrifices due to sin )
Introduced in Leviticus 6:24 30, this was a mandatory sacrifice due to sin as defined in the Torah.
This was most commonly based on negligence of the commandment broken and was offered on
the northern side of the altar (which was out of view of the people) so as not to publicly humiliate
the sinner (the Olah was conducted in the same manner). Based on social standing it would consist
of the following:

collected the blood from when the offerer cut the throat of the animal and then would sprinkle it on
the four corners of the altar. The organs were removed, cleaned and then burnt on the altar with the
rest of the animal.
Introduced in Leviticus 6:8 13, this was a free will sacrifice. Based on wealth it could consist of the

Upper Class: Bull without blemish
Middle Class: Male Sheep or goat without blemish
Lower Class: Turtledoves or young pigeon
The purpose behind this offering was to atone for sin

but was an option for the extremely poor to offer in the place of Olah. The offering consisted of
flour that would be placed in a pan, mixed with oil until a fragrant smell was realized. The priest
then measured out three handfuls and burnt it on the altar, but care was made to ensure that the

Firstly, India lacks the optimum prerequisite for the growth of Industrial Sector i.e Infrastructure.
India is lagging in terms of infrastructure and more private players and public private partnership

Borrelia Burgdorferi Essay
Borrelia burgdorferi is the causative agent of Lyme disease uses a verity of the outer surface
proteins to establish the infection. There are two different mechanisms in which Borrelia uses to
enter a host. One of them is when Borrelia feeds on blood, it regulates OspC, which inhibits
antibody mediated killing and CD4 T cell activation. Upon Borreliareaches dermis it expresses
adhesins, which are binding proteins to facilitate Borrelia dissemination. Another way is to

Dominika Cibulkova and became the first Chinese to win the Australian Open. It was her second
Grand Slam after winning the 2011 French Open. Officials in Hubei her native province were so
excited by the event that local Party chief Li Hongzhong and provincial Governor Wang Guosheng
set up a welcome ceremony on January 27. They awarded the returning champion Rmb 800,000
($132,000) as a manifestation of support from the province which has given the country its best
tennisplayer ever.
Unfortunately, it seems that a good part of the country in question does not agree that Ms Li s
prize should be sucked away from taxpayers money. Even more ... Show more content on

Yet it went to someone who doesn t even need it. Another user shared the feeling that authorities
had wasted resources without any good reason: instead of sending help to those who are in need,
they are here gliding the lily. Shame.
The story drew so much attention that even official media outlets felt the need to address it. The
People s Daily usually regarded as the government s voice published an opinion piece titled The
government s Rmb 800,000 award to Li Na is against the ethics of public finance. According to the
article, the government should provide more timely help to those who are in need, and less
pointless gliding the lily. It goes on saying that Li Na is not short of money, Rmb 800,000 mean
little to her. But there are a lot of children in poor areas in Hubei province who are in need of help,
some kids need help from the society even to get their winter clothes.... The author concluded
wondering why the government, instead of using the 800,000 Rmb to provide timely help, used it
recklessly in awarding the sportsman. Whose money is it? Who authorized it? Based on what?
quipped Xinhua, the national news agency, on its official Weibo page.
While opinions are less unanimously negative concerning Li Na s funereal face, what happened
was hardly uplifting for her image. The Xin Min Evening Daily a paper owned by the Shanghai
government compared Ms Li s profusion of

The On The Foreclosure Crisis
The last five years have been a rollercoaster for the average American homeowner. I personally
know many people who were unable to keep their homes. Most of the reasons were extenuating
loss of job, decline in business, death of family ultimately resulting in no longer being able to
afford the mortgage. Unfortunately there were some very irresponsible decisions that
contributed to the foreclosure of homes, for example, financing huge second and third
mortgages to pay for frivolous activities and items. With the last half decade of hard lessons
learned for previous home owners many are looking to venture into the market again with some
more creative financing options. Many sellers are turning to options such as rent to own or
seller carrying the contract with a down payment as well as buyers borrowing against existing
retirement and life insurance accounts. The rent to own option is one that very desirable for
potential home buyers as well as sellers. They are able to live in the home that they desire to own
and all rent payments that are made are put towards to the future mortgage similar to a buying a
car. The future buyers pay a certain amount each month to live in the house, and at the end of a set
period generally within three years they have the option to buy the house. Each month of rent they
pay is income for the seller, while a portion of it goes toward a down payment to eventually
purchase the home. Both future buyer and seller need to be very clear about the

Compare and Contrast Ottoman and Mughal Empires Essay
The Ottoman and Mughal empires were two of the greatest and most successful empires to ever
form in history. However, they both had some similarities as well as differences. Both empires went
through tough periods of time, but at some point they also went through times of growth and
prosperity. Although the Ottoman and Mughal Empireboth did not force conversions into Islam, the
Ottoman s development relied on their tough military force, while the decline of the Mughal
Empire was caused by Aurangzeb s policy of religious persecution and high taxes. Because of the
Ottoman and Mughal Empire being tolerant of other beliefs, people of all religions living in the
empire lived in peace. The Ottomans granted freedom of worship to... Show more content on

Babur expanded his kingdom by attacking Afghanistan and conquering Kabul after 21 years of
being in power. From that point, he crossed over the mountains into Hindustan and attacked the
Dehli Sultanate, again defeating them and gaining their land. When he died in 1530 he had
conquered all of Hindustan and controlled an empire that stretched out from the Deccan to
Turkestan. These different strategies of conquering land helped the 2 empires rule throughout Asia
and, in the Ottoman s case, some parts of Europe also. Although the Ottoman and Mughal empires
had two different reasons for decline, both were because of the leaders currently in power at the
time. Even though Suleyman, the ruler of the Ottomans, accomplished social and cultural
achievements, the empire was losing ground. Suleyman made a mistake by killing two of his sons.
His third son, the incompetent Selim II, inherited the throne. Suleyman set the pattern for the future
sultans to gain and hold power. It became customary for each new sultan to kill his brother. This
practice produced a long line of weak sultans who eventually brought ruin on the empire. Since
India was mainly a land of the Hindus, The stability of the Emperor, in this case Aurangzeb,
depended on the support of the people. Without their loyalty and cooperation, stability was
impossible. When Aurangzeb came into power, he departed from the tradition of religious tolerance
and persecuted the other

Reasons To Avoid Probate
There are many reasons to avoid probate. Firstly, probate can be a lengthy process that ties up
assets and depreciates the estate s overall value. Most estates require the services of a lawyer or
estate planning service to comply with probate laws. It is relatively easy to avoid probate, or at
least keep the majority of assets from having to pass through the process. Different strategies
exist and depend on the types of assets owned. It is advisable to work with an estate planning
expert to determine which options are best for your situation. The most ironclad way to keep
assets out of probate is to draft an irrevocable life insurance trust or living trust. When assets are
transferred to a trust they are no longer considered part of... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

This can be as simple as purchasing pre formatted Wills at an office supply store or downloading
forms from the Internet. Although a Will does not keep assets out of probate, it can expedite the
process. If you can afford to do so, it is best to have an attorney draft the Will. Most attorneys
charge a nominal fee to draft legal documents. Many lawyers offer additional services such as
assisting the designated estate executor in their duties of administering your estate once you are
gone. If you do not execute a Will, everything you own will be transferred to probate court and sit
there for months on end. Your family will not be able to receive inheritance property and your
estate must continue making payments on outstanding debts or mortgaged real estate. Realize
your loved ones will be grieving. Dying without a Will in place only adds more stress and anxiety
during a highly charged emotional event. If you have a checking or savings accounts, go to the
bank and ask the teller for Payable on Death form. In less than 5 minutes, you can designate
beneficiaries and the percentage of funds to bequeath them. For instance, if you have three children
and want the monies distributed evenly, simply indicate this on the POD

During The Great Tribulation
The Great Tribulation has become a hot topic of conversation for many evangelists. Terrorist attacks
across the world, deadly war inhabiting our nation s, pandemic diseases and other natural
phenomenon have brought light onto the up and coming subject, the end of times. According to the
Bible, the Tribulation is a time of misery and persecution of the followers of Christ. Furthermore,
the New Testament uses the word tribulation to signify a time period of distress before the return of
JesusChrist. Nonetheless, during the Great Tribulation, believers believe the Lord will
accomplish two important aspects of his holy prophecy. In Daniel 9:24, the following verse
reveals the first step of the Lord s plan Seventy weeks are decreed about your people and your holy
city, to finish the transgression, to put an end to sin, and to atone for iniquity, bring in everlasting
righteousness, to seal both vision and prophet, and to anoint a most holy place.... Show more content

Conforming to the following passage the message portrayed is that the Lord will complete his
discipline on his nation during a time period denoted as the tribulation. According to Revelation
6 18, the second aspect of the Lord s plan is revealed. The verses state he will judge the
unbelievers that inhabit the sin filled earth. From a biblical point of view unbelievers are people
who are classified as those who deny Jesus is God s son. Unbelievers do not believe in or follow
prophecies that the Lord preaches. According to the books of Daniel and Revelation, the
tribulation period of judgment, will last 7 years. In a manner conforming to the messages in the
bible, the Lord uses mercy to inform and prepare believers for a time period of misery known as the

Giving women a shot at managerial jobs before stereotyping could be a milestone for this situation.
A.Women have more leader attributes than people expect. One of the many qualifications of a
leader is to be a good listener, and we all know women prevail in this matter.
1.We have all realized over time that women are amazing listeners and conversationalists. Kip
Tindell, CEO of Container Store believes that communication is the basic need for conscious
capitalism.
2.Women already in managerial jobs know one thing men do not, and that is how to prevail in
situations where the odds are against them.
3.Women have a skill men seem to lack and that is emotion. With emotion women can connect on
personal levels with their employees and motivate them to give the best they are capable of.
B.Women leaders have shown to be the best in their positions and worthy of great challenges.

Christianity Dbq
During the Medieval Era in Europe, Christianity was seen as a threat to the Roman Empire due to
Christians refusing to worship other gods or the emperor. As a result, many Christians were
persecuted due to their refusals. However, after the fall of the Roman Empire, the church became
dominant in Europe. Christianity(Catholicism) was the only religion that was recognized during
this specific era. Christianity began its spread from the north and to the west into Europe. It was
carried mostly by merchants, missionaries, and soldiers, which they believed helped to guarantee
their freedom. Moreover, Christianity played a major role within the Medieval Era in Europe,
which saved many lives and freed many people. According to Thomas Aquinas, the... Show more

This document represents an effort by England s rebellious nobility to ensure that the King could
not make unfair demands of his vassals. However, the importance of the contract exceeds its feudal
origins. Although the Magna Carta was not initially successful, the document was reissued and
later became the founding document for the development of justice and law in England. I
believe this document was based and made for the people. With the unsuccessful foreign
policies and heavy taxation demands this helped to serve as a symbol of freedom from
oppression. For example, it stated we will not make justices, constables, sheriffs, or bailiffs save
of such as know the law of the kingdom and mean to observe it well. Another example is no free
man shall be arrested or imprisoned or disseized [dispossessed] or outlawed or exiled or in any
way victimized, neither will we attack him or send anyone to attack him, except by the lawful
judgment of his peers or by the law of the land.. All these provisions shall be observed with good
faith and without evil intent. Therefore, this connects to their Christian beliefs as well which helps
me to believe that Christianity still played a major

The Pros And Cons Of Post National Germany
A Post National National Germany Two world wars caused by the hands of Germans lead many
nations to fear any possibility of Germany recovering and rebuilding their national identity. As
Germany has recovered its strength, especially in their economy, it is plausible to think that a
Fourth Reich is inevitable? No. Germanys past will not repeat itself nor do I believe a Fourth
Reich will ever be realized. Foremost, Germany is dependent on others. With an economy built
around exports to those in Europe and around the world. Aggressions against neighboring
countries would damage any economy reliant on those trades. Even if this wasn t an issue,
Germany is allied and grouped with many nations across the world. Germany is a leader in the
European Union, a part of NATO, and a member of the United Nations. Rather than isolate
themselves, Germany seeks to unite and help keep peace around the world. Next, the united
German people despise war. Rather than become a normal country, Germany has stayed out of wars
it thinks is unjust such as the Iraq War. While they do flex their economic... Show more content on

Historical Study Of Sweetness And Power
#9;Sweetness and Power is a historical study of sugar and its affect on society and economy since
it was first discovered. Sugar has had a large impact on society and the economy that is not
noticeable unless thoroughly studied. The following is an analysis of the work done by Sidney W.
Mintz in his attempt to enlighten the quot;educated layperson quot;.
#9;Mintz uses a very basic system for organizing the tremendous amount of data found within in the
book. The book is divided into 5 chapters: quot;Food, Sociality, and Sugarquot;, quot;Production
quot;, quot;Consumption quot;, quot;Power quot;, and quot;Eating and Being quot;. Each of these
chapters discusses different issues dealing with the main idea while moving in a more ... Show more

By then, sugar and consumer items like it had become too important to permit an archaic
protectionism to jeopardize future metropolitan supplies. Sugar surrendered its place as luxury and
rarity and became the first mass produced exotic necessity of a proletarian working class.
#9;Chapter three, the most lengthy chapter entitled quot;Consumption quot;, finishes the
discussion, first introduced in chapter two, of how sugar became less of a symbol of power and
more of a necessity for the common person. In chapter two, however, Mintz described this
change by relating it to the economy. In the third chapter, Mintz describes the change in a manner
relating it to societal values. Sugar s various purposes are described in great length, among which
included preservation, decoration, medicinal use, as well as a spice. Sugar as a sweetener was
given much of the credit for the shift of its use amongst various groups of people. Mintz writes on
page 108:
Sugar as a sweetener came to the fore in connection with these other exotic imports В– tea, coffee,
and chocolate В– of which one, tea, became and has since remained the most important
nonalcoholic beverages in the United Kingdom.
#9;Mintz contends that as sugar began to infiltrate the British diet, its popularity and demand began
to increase. As the demand went up, so did the supply, causing

  • 2. Hegel s Views On Religion Religion for Hegel was something that was discussed throughout some of his different writings, and was something that he had strong views on. It can be argued that his view on religion in the state for the citizens creates the most liberal society when comparing with that of Locke or Hobbes for those who desire to practice their faith. He gives the choice to be involved in religion, or not, and shows how religion can benefit the functioning of civil society. Hegel s views on religion in the state cannot be sufficiently aligned with that of Hobbes or Locke, and Hegel s views are very much his own. In a sense, he combines elements of both of these two writers, and takes aspects that make it difficult to draw a final conclusion that his ideas are more like one than the other. Hegel s views on religion in relation to politics greatly differ from that of Hobbes and Locke, but he believes that religion can play a vital role in creating ethical political communities. Practicing your faith can provide information on morals to live by, ad create a stronger society. Hegel believed that Christianity is able to become a public religion that all citizens can become a part of. He thinks this religion is important because it aligns itself closely with his views on the way of living an ethical life, and he believed that you can only become ethical by having this religious support and faith in something. Christianity can be argued to be a religion of Sittlichkeit. This religion ultimately ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The use of his descriptive sentence structure throughout the piece transported the reader to that very lake in Maine he wrote of. Furthermore I felt as if I was there watching it happen in front of me. He thoroughly described each setting in such great detail that I recalled memories of my own with my father. We would go camping and fishing on a lake in South Carolina much similar to the one E.B. White described. These trips took place in the month of July when the heat was at its peak, mosquitoes abound, crickets and frogs sang in unison, the smell of DEET smothered all over my body and the late evening thunderstorms which brought wind, rain and lightning. • 5. Chipping Vs Pitching Chipping There are some newer Golfers who confuse chipping and pitching . The difference is that chipping is more similar to putting. A chipping swing is more restricted to just the shoulders and arms. Your body remains still. What makes a good chip shot is a proper setup and swing. Whenever you set up to make a chip shot you need to use an open stance . Keep your feet and hips opened slightly toward your target. It s natural for this stance to feel a bit odd at first. However, it s necessary for giving your arms the room they need to swing through your target. When you make a chip shot and use a square stance, your wrists are at risk of unhinging. Whenever you re ready to take your swing, bring the club back as far as necessary to hit your ball. To have a successful down swing you ll have to accelerate your club head while making contact with your ball. Be sure your club enters the sand at least 1 or maybe 2 inches behind your ball. Allow your club to do all the work while it enters the sand. Avoid trying to scoop your ball upward and out. A crucial element of all sand shots is to accelerate through impact . This is especially true when the sand is wet or packed tightly. The acceleration will be the one single thing keeping the club head from stopping as it impacts its way through the sand. A sand shot follow through has to be full as well as smooth without any sudden stops. Keep the head down and avoid the urge to eye the ball as it s coming out. • 12. Difference Between Service Quality And Customer Satisfaction Introduction: Service quality represents a fundamental aspect of delivery, which strongly influences consumer satisfaction and, as a result, loyalty. In today s global market a customer s service expectation has to be met and exceeded eventually in order to retain customers as well as achieve success. Perceived quality of a product or a service is becoming one of the major competitive factors in the business world and has led to the innovation of the Quality Era (Peeler, 1996). In simple words, the comparison of customer expectations with service performance is service quality. On the other hand, customer satisfaction is defined as a pleasurable fulfilment response toward a good, service, benefit, or reward (Oliver, 1997). Both of these ... • 13. Essay on A Fictional Account of Early Iceland A Fictional Account of Early Iceland The origin and evolution of saga writing in Iceland are largely matters for speculation. A common pastime on Icelandic farms, from the 12th century down to modern times, was the reading aloud of stories to entertain the household, known as sagnaskemmtun ( saga entertainment ). It seems to have replaced the traditional art of storytelling (Hermann Palsson, pg. 1). Njal s Saga uses Old Icelandic writing convention and historical data to give a fictional account of a generation s lifestyle and struggles. Icelandic literature has become very valuable because historians have realized the great amount of truth that can be found in each saga. According to one historian, the sagas have proven to be ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... 1). Animal products provided the mainstay of the Icelandic diet. An emphasis on dairy cattle and sheep meant that lamb and beef and dairy products such as cheese and whey were relatively plentiful, especially following good seasons (Gary Martin, pg. 2) Despite the abundance of food, as more settlers came, the resources were slowly depleted: The following episode from Grettir s Saga is likely to have been typical: as soon as Eirik knew that Onund had arrived he offered to give him anything he wanted, and added that there was not much land still unclaimed. Onund said he would like first to see what land was available. So they went south across the fjords, and when they reached Ofaera, Eirik said, Now you can have a look at it. From here on the land is unclaimed up to Bjorn s settlement. (Gary Martin, p.2). Clearly this famine was a historical, recorded event since there are also reports of a shortage of foodstuffs in Njal s Saga. This was a time of great famine in Iceland, and all over the country people were going short of hay and food (Njal s Saga, Ch. 47). So it is clear that Njal s Saga includes some factual information, yet still remains a fictional narrative. Instead of creating a form of law enforcement, the Icelanders usually took matters into their own hands. This is can be seen in the many killings that occur in Njal s Saga. Lee s purpose is to create a story that many will love, while showing her views on racism and how she felt during this time. She creates a controversial tone in order to make people think about her views while also using familiar characters, which makes the readers eager to have an update on these beloved characters. Although this novel created racial tensions, Lee uses her writing skills, ethos, pathos, and logos by connecting the audience to the story and bridging a gap between the fictional world and reality. Lee s novel combines issues going on in the real world, while constructing a story that can relate to the readers. Lee s first novel made people think about how racism affects the world, and she instantly became a credible author. Lee was born in 1926, which makes her a primary source for the information on the racial outburst in the 1950s. In Lee s first novel, To Kill a Mockingbird, she uses the quote, You never really understand a person until you consider things from his point of view (Harper Lee, To Kill a Mockingbird). This quote is arguably the most famous line from the novel, and it tests the readers to fight against racism. James Truslow Adams, an American writer and historian, in 1931 states: life should be better and richer and fuller for everyone, with opportunity for each according to ability or achievement , which not only points towards a better standard of living for Americans but also denounces a degree of greed in the US society. The contrast between a passive approach and dynamic ambition towards the realization of the American Dream is the cause of rift in a brother relationship between Willy and Ben. Another instance of rift in relationships in regards to ambition and the American Dream can be found in the father son relationship between Willy and his son Biff. • 16. Stress In The Baboons This episode features Stanford University s Neurobiologist, Robert Sapolsky, who has a high understanding of stress and how it affects our not just our health, but our bodies. The main point Robert is conveying to the audience states that stress leads to serious health consequences, such as high blood pressure, weakened immune system, fatigue, development of fat and even the shortening of life expectancy. Robert Sapolsky researches the science behind human stress by exploring non human primates, the baboons in their natural habitat in Kenya, Africa. After thirty years of research, Sapolsky believes that baboons are apparently the perfect source of exemplifying human stress because they are naturally aggressive toward one another, including their offspring, and the pain and stress factors appear to be the same in humans; especially dealing with stressful jobs and verbally abusive bosses. In the baboon s case, if you are a full controlled male, you can expect lower stress levels, and if you are the submissive, abused baboon, the stress level can be much higher. • 17. Literary Interpretation In Kich By Carolyn Kizer s Bitch Carolyn Kizer s Bitch is describing the unnamed woman s feelings towards an ex lover from an unspecified time in the past, which she has just encountered. The woman was extremely hurt by the ex and has a lot of anger deep inside towards this person, but does not want to demonstrate it. The main image is the speaker and the ex lover running into one another and catching up. Now, when he and I meet, after all these years, I say to the bitch in me, don t start growling. (Kizer 1,2). The tone of the poem is angry, sad, and reflects a relationship where she was hurt and misses the other person. The woman tries to control her inner feelings when she encounters the man, concealing her true feelings with polite conversation. Just by the tone of her inner feelings, you can see the woman thinks the man from her past caused her harm. The woman of Carolyn Kizer s Bitch provides a satiric interpretation of a typical meeting between her and an ex lover since the end of their relationship. In a single, thirty four line stanza, the woman participates in a witty monologue that displays a ideally ironic division: the woman s two coinciding but opposite interchanges, one entailing of the woman s external conversation with her former lover and the other of silent warnings, threats, and clarifications to her inner self, represented in the poem as a bitch. The speaker is camouflaging compelling emotions with external civility. While the hiding of true feelings is an everyday ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The novel To Kill a Mockingbird is a sad novel with mystery and excitement. There is prejudice against black people, and little seems to be right. One may wonder if the book meets the standards of a dystopian novel. The book overall does not meet the qualifications of a dystopian novel for many reasons. To start, the first reason that To Kill a Mockingbird is not a dystopian novel is its setting. A dystopian novel usually has a futuristic science fictionsetting. The novel is set in the tired old town of Maycomb, Alabama during the 1930 s (Lee 5). There are no advanced technological advancements; it is a plain simple town. This paper outlines a critical appraisal for a research paper conducted by Cathy Byrne (2012). Byrnes paper is an exploratory case study into the impact of segregated religious instruction in public schools. She argues that segregated religious instruction influences identity development and may lead to exclusionary behaviours in students. This essay argues that Byrnes use of an exploratory research design is an appropriate and useful approach as this method provides the researcher with a greater understanding of the topic and allows the researcher to gain clarity in defining the nature of the research problem (Manerika Manerika , 2014, p.95). It also helps Byrne define a problem statement for her future research. However, the nature of this approach is associated with significant limitations, which in Byrnes paper, were coupled with problems in the research title and method that affected the believability and validity of the study. There are also issues with the overall argument of the paper which is based on the assumption that Special Religious Education in Australian schools are segregated without defining segregation or adequately proving that grouping students by religious identity for religious ... Al Pacino s docu drama, Looking for Richard, (henceforth Looking for...) (1996) attempts to bridge that gap through intertextual connections. Both composers elucidate their respective contexts through their exploration of the English monarch, King Richard III, through their representation of the Elizabethan struggle for power and Pacino s attempts to connect the post modern world to the 16th century. Shakespeare uses the short stage direction: they fight; Richard is slain followed by the animalistic and savage metaphor of the bloody dog is dead to convey Richard s death. He uses animal imagery conveyed by Richmond along with the sudden and immediate death of Richard after he is willing to trade a kingdom for a horse to show his audience that God has carried out divine retribution due to Richard s Machiavellian nature. Pacino transformed this scene so that it lead to a deeper understanding by his mainly secular 20th century audience. By undermining Richmond s inglorious victory by having the soldiers shoot an arrow into Richard s back, Pacino shows that Richard s death was unfair. He also removed Richmond s monologue to take the audience s attention away from Richmond s speech about god and the righteousness of divine retribution. Thus, by portraying conscience as being more important than divine retribution, Pacino transformed Shakespeare s King Richard III to suit his context where Richard s guilt killed ... When the war interrupted European filmmaking, however, the American film industry began to dominate the world market. In the years between 1917 and 1927 the silent film reached the peak of its development. United States had the largest filmindustry and American films dominated the international market. The first full length all sound film was The Lights of New York , issued by Warner Brothers in 1928. The success of sound revolutionized the film industry. Theaters had to install sound projection equipment, and film studios had to find methods of soundproofing cameras and stages. Movement in most of the early sound films appeared static, because cameras had to be enclosed in soundproof boxes that were difficult to move. Eventually cameras with noiseless gears were developed; microphones were put on booms, or poles, which could be extended as needed. Early ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Even though they are similar, they both come at the situation a different way. They are both different and they have their own techniques. Relative dating uses the location within the rocks layers. Radioactive dating uses information that they gather from the decay of radioactive substances within an object. What s the difference in relative and radioactive dating? They were able to learn about dinosaurs and how old they were and when they were discovered by radioactive dating. Radioactive dating allows scientist to record things in the past. In order to do this, they have to use the ratios of isotopes to determine the age of the rocks and fossils. Some chemicals that they use in radioactive dating are Carbon, uranium and potassium. Each one of these elements are made up of atoms. In each atom, there is a nucleus. Inside of that, we find a neutron, and when they become unstable, they let go of energy. When they let go of this energy, it is called radioactivity. It occurs when the nucleus has an excessive amount of neutrons. The variation of neutrons are called isotopes. Isotopes are a form of an element that are unstable. When going through radioactivity, the unstable isotopes break down and form a new element. The isotopes are never destroyed but they turn into something else. As far as the accuracy goes, people are proven to believe that this is a very accurate method. They say this because radioactive dating is based on radioactive decay of unstable isotopes. They have ways of proving that this method is in fact correct and very accurate. An in depth study of its history, how the technology works, and comparisons with older methods of bio sensing will also be made. Introduction: A biosensor is a device or method that allows a certain specific biological material to be detected. Common forms of detection are Fluorescence techniques, Raman Scattering, Plasmon Resonance, Near infrared Spectroscopy and diffuse reflectance spectroscopy. These detection methods each have distinct advantages and disadvantages, and can adapt to a variety of different applications for different situations. Before any of the laws that helped reform our nation, working in mines or factories was dangerous and not worth the effort. Secondly, the hours were unethical, as workers sometimes had to toil away for 12 hours, seven days a week with a one day break every two weeks. Workers who were fighting for their rights were not alone, as there were some people who also believed morality was more important at the moment. The changes made were for the better and made the world of hard labor a better place. Thankfully, these rules were not ever taken away and people now live to know that they will earn the money and rights that they deserve. A miner from the 1800s had to work hard for little bits of money. One specific miner went to a school with his three brothers, although it was not a good school since schools back then were not the best, until he was twelve, when he went to pick slate. There were five kids that worked there, one of which was crushed by 50 tons of rock one week before he was to get married. There were many risks in mining, like falling rock, miner s asthma, powder, smoke, poisonous gases, and bad air. Miners were living unfair lives and that was fixed well (Doc 1). From that point, he crossed over the mountains into Hindustan and attacked the Dehli Sultanate, again defeating them and gaining their land. When he died in 1530 he had conquered all of Hindustan and controlled an empire that stretched out from the Deccan to Turkestan. These different strategies of conquering land helped the 2 empires rule throughout Asia and, in the Ottoman s case, some parts of Europe also. Although the Ottoman and Mughal empires had two different reasons for decline, both were because of the leaders currently in power at the time. Even though Suleyman, the ruler of the Ottomans, accomplished social and cultural achievements, the empire was losing ground. Suleyman made a mistake by killing two of his sons. His third son, the incompetent Selim II, inherited the throne. Suleyman set the pattern for the future sultans to gain and hold power. It became customary for each new sultan to kill his brother. This practice produced a long line of weak sultans who eventually brought ruin on the empire. Since India was mainly a land of the Hindus, The stability of the Emperor, in this case Aurangzeb, depended on the support of the people. Without their loyalty and cooperation, stability was impossible. When Aurangzeb came into power, he departed from the tradition of religious tolerance and persecuted the other ...
