How did you use media technologies in the
  construction and research, planning and
    evaluation stages? What particular
camerawork techniques & editing tools were
         used and to what effect?
           Evaluation question 2
What software was used?
We used Pinnacle to edit our trailer; put shots in
order as well as changing lighting in colour
corrector.
As well as this we created an unnerving
strobing effect with the use of white
titles in-between split clips.
We used the shine effect tool in Pinnacle to create
this glowing effect on the normally plain black and
white Miramax logo. Instead of fully changing the
colour of it, we decided to keep the original black
and white (binary oppositional connotations) and to
put a fiery effect on it. We decided this because fire
signifies destruction, linking to the narrative and
genre of our trailer.
We used Pinnacle to create
our interim titles which
added narrative exposition
and emphasised the
questions being asked in the
trailer.
We also used pinnacle to create
the end coming soon title which
is conventional of all trailers.
We also including information
such as: Twitter and Facebook-
as well as company logos. We
used pinnacle to add effects to
our different titles such as ‘city
lights’.
We also used a variety of editing techniques
such as match on action for fast paced action
sequences as well as jump cuts to create a
intense, jumpy effect.

These are commonly used in horror/thriller
trailers.
Match on action- used in fast
  paced action sequence.
We also used the pan and zoom tool to take
a close up to an extreme close up therefore
creating a wider variety of shots.
What equipment was used?
We used a camera and a tripod which created a
steadier shot.
What were the technical pros and
     cons of the software and
            hardware?
The camera and tripod allowed us to create a wide
variety of shots such as long shots, close ups and
high angle shots. The tripod also enabled
steadiness.
Pinnacle allowed us to edit individual shots eg.
Using pan and zoom or changing the lighting or
colour.
However we did have some problems with pinnacle
working on our computer.
In what ways did the technology
constrain or enable the production to
           be developed?
We had some small problems using
pinnacle as it kept on closing without
saving our work. However we solved this
by making sure we saved our work more
regularly.
