The feedback from viewers of the musician's music video and promotional materials provided both praise and criticism to help improve future work. While most enjoyed the video and magazine poster, some noted issues with video quality and flow. The digipak received criticism for unclear photos in the insert. The musician learned they need higher quality, recognizable images and better layout for inserts. Overall, the feedback will help produce higher quality videos and packaging to better engage audiences.
1. What have you learned from your audience feed back?
I previously posted my music video on to YouTube and Facebook for the public to
view and leave their comments on what they thought about my video. I have
uploaded a screenshot on a recent post of my video uploaded on to YouTube and
a couple of the comments. Most of them were pleased and enjoyed my video yet
some said that minor improvements that I could work on is the quality of my
pictures and also the flow of the video. Some were confused when watching the
video at what I was trying to achieve and how it linked back with my song. As I
highlighted in my evaluation one, I tried to produce a documentary style video
rather than one that had a set narrative.
On the other hand, the ones who enjoyed the video stated that they liked the
scenes I used and how brought it all together, such as the clip from a concert and
the old fashioned effects I used on particular scenes of the video giving it more of
a meaning.
When I created a questionnaire asking my audience did they find my products to
be professional, the majority of the answers were positive. When viewing my
digipak and magazine poster advertisement people were pleased with the final
product and thought that it tied in really well with my music video and the overall
production package. Many favoured the poster over the digipak as they thought
it seemed to have a more professional look in reflection to my CD. In the
feedback many highlighted how they liked the fact I incorporated my CD cover on
to the poster which helped them to become familiar with all my products as I was
consistent, another thing they liked was the way I layed out the text and also the
other image of the festival girl, as a result of this they were able to see the text
clearly and also the important information which they may require, also the other
images used help to tie in the genre.
2. I did get some criticism on my digipak for the fact that the quality of my pictures
were not as clear and sharp as they could have been. The audience did say they
liked my unique touch of putting different concert images in to each letter of the
words which also kept them familiar with the genre and what to expect within
the video, the same went for the back cover of my CD. Other than that, the other
parts of my digipak such as the insert was not as successful in gaining positive
feedback as this is where people believed my images let me down. They did not
like the repetative images and the change of colour on them, they claimed they
would have liked to see different and clearer images used to help promote the
album better.
I believe that by recieving this criticism it will help me with future projects by
making sure that each of my product is up to a high quality of standard for my
audience to enjoy. When it comes to my music video I will focus on making sure
the clips and scenes that I use made sense with the song that I chose helping
people to understand straight off what they are watching. Also another aspect of
my video where I could avoid making a future mistake would be the quality of the
video, as some stated that it was shakey therefore making it hard to concentrate
on as it was distracting for them.
In relation to my magazine poster advertisment I am happy with this product
therefore do not feel that I need to think of improvements or changes for the
future. However, with my digipak there are a few features that I need to
concentrate on in improving such as my images, I need to have better quaity
images which are easy to look at where you are able to recognise what they are
straight away. Also the layout of my CD insert is one which I need to highly focus
3. on as this got the most criticism of it all, I do believe that I rushed this part of my
digipak as I felt that I was running out of time therefore did not take much care
and attention when creating this. In future circumstances I will have to improve
my time keeping enabling me to produce a better quality of images and
presentation of my products.
