The document compares the author's college magazine to their music magazine, noting the differences and how they have evolved. Some key differences include:
- The music magazine masthead uses a slight glowing effect while the college magazine does not
- The cover lines are much smaller in the music magazine to avoid crowding the page
- The puff used vibrant colors and informal language in the music magazine to appeal to teenagers, unlike the college magazine puff
- The magazine images feature the same model against different backgrounds, with the music magazine choosing a black background to draw attention to colors used.

Embracing GenAI - A Strategic ImperativePeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

The French Revolution, which began in 1789, was a period of radical social and political upheaval in France. It marked the decline of absolute monarchies, the rise of secular and democratic republics, and the eventual rise of Napoleon Bonaparte. This revolutionary period is crucial in understanding the transition from feudalism to modernity in Europe.

Synthetic Fiber Construction in lab .pptxPavel ( NSTU)
Synthetic fiber production is a fascinating and complex field that blends chemistry, engineering, and environmental science. By understanding these aspects, students can gain a comprehensive view of synthetic fiber production, its impact on society and the environment, and the potential for future innovations. Synthetic fibers play a crucial role in modern society, impacting various aspects of daily life, industry, and the environment. ynthetic fibers are integral to modern life, offering a range of benefits from cost-effectiveness and versatility to innovative applications and performance characteristics. While they pose environmental challenges, ongoing research and development aim to create more sustainable and eco-friendly alternatives. Understanding the importance of synthetic fibers helps in appreciating their role in the economy, industry, and daily life, while also emphasizing the need for sustainable practices and innovation.

1. Evaluation Question 7
I shall compare my college magazine to my music magazine and
annotate explaining the differences and how I have evolved and
learned knew things.
3. One thing that I did change but keep characteristics of were the mastheads. The first one,
‘collage’, was bright blue and I put a slight glowing
Effect on it. The black background remains present on both mastheads, as I thought it would help
contrast the bright colours and draw the eye
It. The straplines are both different, clearly. In the NP-17 magazine, I wanted to put it in an
interesting place, and so I placed it to the right, as there was already an unnecessary black space.
In the collage one, there was space above, so I just put it above. Both the straplines are a different
font to the masthead, this to me makes it visually more interesting and appealing.
4. The cover lines for both issues are drastically different from one another, but
again I decided to keep some characteristics I liked and use them in the music
magazine. In the Collage magazine, the cover lines are quite large, with there
being little difference in sizes between them and that main cover line. One of
the issues can now see in the old magazine is the cover lines so take up a lot of
space. I originally had them surrounded by black to help highlight them more,
but opted against that as that would completely crowd the page. The main
cover line is made to resemble the title, and it is covered by black to not only
focus the eye on it, but to remain consistent with style.
The one thing I carried on to the cover line in the NP-17 magazine was the fact
that the font used in the cover lines were the same, or at least similar to the
strapline, which also helped with consistency in style. However in NP-17, the
cover lines are much smaller, which allows space so the page doesn’t feel so
crowded. In early creation of the magazine, I did use long sentences, as shown
in the image below, but when put against the page as a whole, it does
make the space seem very full and
crowded, which creates a very
unprofessional feel to the page,
which is why I decided to make the
cover lines simple sentences.
5. The puffs are probably the most different out of the
comparison of both magazines, as you can see. The
first one I did with the college magazine wasn’t very
good. I felt it was necessary to make a puff, and if I
put it in a colourful bubble then it was definitely
take up too much space, as the cover lines were
already doing that. So I just did it in red, as it was a
very vibrant colour and contrasted with the blue.
But that was where the problem was, looking back
at it. There is too much contrast between the two
colours with no background square of circle to
break it up a bit, so it makes it a bit hard to read.
On the latest magazine, NP-17 however, I took my
mistakes and sought to make a puff that was more
interesting and didn’t crowd the page. The colours
were chosen as they were ones that hadn’t
appeared in the front cover, and so would be
immediately eye-catching for how different and
vibrant they were. The language used is very
informal, too, which helps identify with the teenage
audience, which is quite a large portion of the
targeted demographic. Plus it makes the magazine
seem very casual.
I decided to put the cover lines at the bottom as for
6. Both images seem to be the most similar in both
magazines. Now even though there are a few
interesting poses and shot sizes of the subject to
attempt, I did not opt for them, instead going
toward conventions more.
As you can see in the Collage one, it is a very basic
medium close up of my model, Caleb, against a
graffiti background, which to me looked visually
appealing and different. He is wearing simple
clothing that the archetypal student would wear
(and what he wears most days).
I liked the image and so used it as a template for my
next shoot for NP-17, but I did change a few things.
For one, I changed the background to completely
black, as I felt that it would draw more attention to
the subject in the image as well as vital things such
as the main cover lines and masthead. The costume
was a t-shirt that I own that I felt would best
represent the punk genre, as it was quite grim and
didn’t have any colour, which again helped draw the
reader’s attention to the red that was present in the
