2. From doing this I leant that time management is
extremely important especially with this task,
otherwise my work would get extremely stressful
and I would not be able to cope any more. I had
to use time better with my main task in comparison
to my preliminary task because the task was smaller as
there wasn’t a double page spread. Also when I was
doing my preliminary task I was just getting used
to the technology so it took me much more time
than when I was doing my main task because by
time I was used to the technology that I was
using also Photoshop, therefore I was not wasting time for
my main task.
3. I also learnt that I had to choose a model that I could rely on
to be there when asked and to also turn up on time, a person
who was able to co-operate with me to try and produce the
best possible photos and making them look as realistic as
possible. I also learnt that I had to tell my model the types of
poses I was looking for and that I was the one that had to
direct her so I couldn’t be shy, otherwise my images would
not come out the way I wanted them to. In my preliminary
task my images did not come out the way I wanted them to
as I was shy and did not want to tell my model the types of
poses the needed to do.
4. From this task I found out how important doing drafts are
and the difference they make to your work when a draft is
not done. For my preliminary task I did not do a detailed
draft so I ending up struggling when I was trying to complete
the college magazine. As I was always changing my ideas
as I didn’t have a structure of what I was doing. This made it
clear to me that drafting helps you see what you are trying
to do and it stops a lot of time wasting.
5. To be able to create my magazine efficiently I
had to borrow some equipment for my college,
this included; camera’s, mics’, headphones,
being able to use the lights in the green room – I
also had to book the green room to be able to
use the equipment inside there so I was able to
get the best possible images. When I was doing
my preliminary task I was not certain on how to
use the camera or lighting but after using the
green room many times over I was finally able to
grasp how to get the perfect images.
