Tarrah Holland has over 18 years of experience managing contamination control programs for cleanrooms in the semiconductor and pharmaceutical industries. She has implemented cleanroom protocols and cleaning programs for facilities totaling over 2 million square feet, including the world's first submicron DRAM fabrication facility. Most recently, she created and manages the protocol program for a 12,000 square foot cleanroom at Princeton University's Andlinger Center for Energy and Environment.
1. I have served as contamination control programmanagerat some of the most diverse yet cutting edge
facilities in the Semiconductor and Pharmaceutical industry. For the past 18 years I have been
responsible forImplementation and Management of Clean Build Protocol programs of more than 10
cutting edge Technology Centers.Below are some highlights of those experiences.
Bio: Tarrah Holland - Project History
Mar 1996 - Aug 1997
Dominion Semiconductor/Micron - Manassas, VA
180,000 sq ft new construction Sub Micron class 1 FAB. First sub micron FAB built in
the world for D-RAM technology. IBM/Toshiba joint venture ULPA FFU design by
MW Zander using Japanese style construction techniques. Self contained facility
included Chemical Wash Plant and 10,000 sq ft gowning room. Employed new Gortex
gowning system. International training program for base trades and tool install vendors
alike. Slab to Tool Hookup Cleanroom cleaning and Protocol monitoring program.
Implemented facility contamination control maintenance program. Estimated project cost
$720 million
Jan 1998 - Oct 1998
Lucent Technologies - Atlanta, GA
350,000 sq ft retro fit expansion Class 10,000 Cleanroom for fiber optic production and
R&D. Instituted contamination control programs for entire facility during pre and post
construction. Trade training program with Local Union bodies to ensure Best Practices
as respects cleanroom construction. Complete decontamination of facility. Estimated
project cost $60 million
Nov 2001 - June 2003
Wyeth Ayerst Immunex/Amgen - Warrick, RI
270,000 sq ft renovation Class 100 Bio Pharm manufacturing facility. Production of
Rheumatoid Arthritis drug. Start up facility three level process and fermentation suits.
Provided biological cleaning and contamination control in preparation of r FDA
certification. Provided ongoing daily contamination wipe downs in all process suits both
pre and post construction. Exceed all FDA testing requirements for new facility.
Estimated project cost $292 million
March 2006 – July 2007
Duke University - Durham, NC
Cleanroom project with the advent of Nanotechnology for Duke Univ. 6,000 total sq ft
cleanroom protocol and cleaning managed, all training for site personnel performed.
October 2013 - April 2014
Global Foundries FAB Extension 8.1 - Malta, NY
PMSI started the project by creating the program for the protocol training and protocol
implementation on the site. Managed 90,000 sq ft expansion of SubFAB, FAB and
Interstitial space. Began the hiring process to have a crew of protocol monitors to control
the work being done by contractors. Trained all contractors on site in each level of
2. protocol as it progressed and initiated gowning procedures for each new level. Attended
all management meetings with the owner and general contractor to make sure we were in
line with the project schedule. Handed off the project to a new project manager and
continued to monitor progress through weekly/bi-weekly visits.
April 2014 - May 2014
West Pharmaceutical - Kinston, NC
Was responsible for managing the cleaning and protocol management of the construction
of 10,000 sq ft of ISO 5 and ISO 8 pharmaceutical cleanrooms. PMSI performed a super
clean at the beginning of our time onsite, and then performed daily maintenance cleaning,
before completing one final super clean prior to certification. PMSI supplied all the
cleanroom consumables on the jobsite and during the super clean we oversaw all of the
personnel in the cleanroom for protocol and safety, including hazard mitigation, when
performing cleanings.
May 2014 - August 2014
Numark Assembly Room - Richmond, VA
Created and implemented a Cleanroom protocol program for a company having none.
Managed on a daily basis the protocol program and cleaning for the 15,000 sq ft
Cleanroom and surrounding areas called the clean envelope. Trained all personnel
working in that space on the protocol levels in place. Initiated gowning procedures at
each level of protocol and supplied all gowning attire for project.
August 2014 - Present
Princeton Andlinger Center for Energy and the Environment - Princeton, NJ
Created and implemented the Protocol program for this project. It's approximately
12,000 sq ft of classified cleanroom space ranging from ISO 5-ISO 8 as well as another
8,000 sq ft of unclassified clean area. I am responsible for all training of personnel
working on the project and monitoring the activity of those working in the cleanroom to
make sure protocol requirements are being followed. Will be responsible for maintaining
the cleanliness and gowning supplies for the cleanroom entry points throughout the
duration of the construction clean-build process.
Various short/long term cleaning projects managedincluding the
following projects from March 2006 - Present:
Merck Pharmaceuticals, Elkton, VA as well as Merck Pharmaceuticals, Durham, NC
