We used various media technologies throughout the research, planning, construction, and evaluation stages of our project. During research, we used websites like YouTube and Google on computers and phone internet to find ideas and gather information. We also used Photoshop to design a poster and WhatsApp, phones, and computers to communicate and share photos. Blogger allowed us to document our progress and ideas with embedded photos and plans. During construction, we used iMovie to edit footage from our camera onto iMac and create our film, and took photos with a Canon camera to design a poster.

2. RESEARCH
While planning and researching, we used websites such as
YouTube in order to research different type of films in order to find
ideas about the genre we would use. We did this on IMac. Google
was very useful as it allowed us to search about different
conventions such as thriller, crime and horror.
Our phone internet was also available for research. We used our
phone internet when we were not able to access a computer in
order to get information to help our project. E.g. to find different
short films such as ‘Cabin in the Woods’.
We got different ideas from different short films by using all the
existing ideas which we analysed in order to see whether we
could use it in our film.

3. PHOTOSHOP – RESEARCH
AND PLANNING
We used Photoshop in order to create a poster. When creating a
poster for our film, we wanted to produce a poster of the highest
quality which required specialist software. We wanted software
which had tools we could utilise such as gradient, colour
balancing and shadowing effects. Photoshop was great for us as
it met our criteria and using it developed our IT skills as we had
learned new functions along the process.

4. WHATSAPP, MOBILE
PHONES, COMPUTERS–
RESEARCH AND PLANNING
• We used our phones to use WhatsApp in order to
communicate with each other so we can discuss
the progress our film and what we believe could
make our film better.
• During the filming stage we used our phones to
take a lot of pictures of the locations which we felt
would be useful and we upload it to our blog.
• We used our Computers at home in order to do a
lot of research at home on the Internet when we
weren’t in school. We accessed YouTube to
watch different short films which our relevant to
our films genre.

5. BLOGGER AND
PUBLISHER - RESEARCH
& PLANNING
We used blogger a lot in the duration of our project in order to be
able to record our work as we went along. Blogger was really easy to
use in order to track the progress whilst we was working. We made
sure to blog each step of our work from the introduction of our project
to the evaluation of our project. Blogger allowed us to embed pictures
on our blog post in order to show where we was getting our
inspiration and ideas from. We used blogger to embed our planning
such as our target audience questionnaire and our shooting
schedule. Blogger was easy to access on the IMac and our personal
Computers at home.
We used Microsoft Publisher in order to create a magazine review. It
helped us to construct a magazine review because of the templates
which the document contains. This allowed us to create a
professional magazine review which conforms to the ideas of how
effective magazine cover is made.

6. CONSTRUCTION
In the construction stage, we used IMac in order to access different
software.
We used JV HD Everio camera , we used a tripod in order to hold the
camera still to get the perfect footage for our film. After we film, we
upload our footage unto IMac with the camera own USB onto
IMOVIE. Here we was able to select the footage that want to include
into our film. This was included during the editing of our film where
we trim down any shots we used, add sound effects and music and
split any shots to make them more suspenseful. We also used the
camera to take pictures of the locations that we would film in and
upload them to our blog and explained why we feel that the location
would be effective to use for our film.
For Photography we used a Canon 6D in order to take pictures of our
actors Jamil and Timur in order to use their pictures to create an
effective poster.
