2. MEDIA TECHNOLOGIES
 Digitalisation has brought a number of advantages to amateur and professional
film makers. With the vast developments of technology since the 1980’s, the
production of films has become a lot faster and also a lot easier.
 With this development, media convergence has occurred in multiple
technologies such as mobile phones, which now have a number of different
technologies incorporated into them such as cameras, music players, games and
internet.

3. FINAL CUT PRO
 To create our short film, we used mac editing software Final Cut
Pro. This digital software makes film making extremely more simple.
It enables you to rearrange clips and audio easily without it deterring
the quality of the film, unlike editing films using tape.
 It is allows you to add in special effects easily and remove any
effects without having to delete the video clip entirely.

4. SONY HANDYCAM
To film our short film, we used a Sony handycam HD camera. This camera
was an upgrade from the camera we used for our AS thriller production.
For last years work, we used a tape camera which was a lot harder to
manage. We encountered a number of problems including the tape
becoming damaged deterring the quality of the video and also filming over
old footage accidently. It was also a lot longer and time consuming to
upload footage. With this new camera, the quality was not only a lot
better, but the footage was transferred to the computer through a SD card.

5. LOGIC PRO 9
To create the music in the short film, I used music production
software Logic Pro 9 to create an original soundtrack. The software
has a number of free sample based instruments and synthesisers to
music ranging from droning synths, calm piano pieces and
slow, dreary electronic pieces. For recording the audio for question
2, I also used Logic Pro 9 to make a high quality recording voice of
my voice.

6. PHOTOSHOP
I used photo editing software Photoshop to edit my film poster and
also the photo I used for my film review. Photoshop allows you to
make vast changes to a photo, adding multiple different layers without
changing the original image.

7. INDESIGN
To edit my film review I used Indesign, another software by Adobe. I
was not familiar with the software before using it at sixth form but it
was very easy to navigate around. Indesign made creating the film
poster a lot easier, allowing to create a sharp and convincing film
review with a number of different texts features at your disposal.

8. WORDPRESS
For the duration of the course, I have used the blogging
website Wordpress to document the process of creating my
short film and also to show my research and planning for all
of my ancillary texts. Wordpress allows you to incorporate a
number of other media formats such as photos, videos, music
and documents into your blog to make it more interactive.

9. YOUTUBE
We used the website Youtube to upload our short film to the internet
making it easily accessible to the world as Youtube is the largest video
sharing site on the planet. Youtube allows anyone to share high
quality clips easily and use tags to make it easier to find for it’s
audience.

10. SOCIAL NETWORKING
Social networking sites such as facebook and twitter make it easy to
promote a film to it’s younger audience. A facebook page allows a
film to create a free website where they can also interact with their
fans and get audience feedback alot easier.
