Evaluation Q. 3
2. Natalie's understanding:
"In my opinion, this question is
asking us which film media
institutions would consider to
distribute our horror opening
sequence. It's asking us to get into
such details as to what elements of
our opening sequence the institution
would find attractive and it is also
asking us to consider and compare
both independent and
conglomerate companies. "
Ekaterina's understanding:
"In my opinion, this evaluation
question is asking us to get into details
as to what kind of media company
would distribute our sequence to the
general public. It's asking us to show
the difference between independent
and major-studio companies. "
Our understanding of Evaluation Q. 3.
3. Universal Pictures is a mainstream
company, and is also one of the biggest
conglomerate in the world due to its
success of the way they distribute films.
Some of their most popular films are:
1) Get Out
2) Mama
3) Sinister
This conglomerate would not be so
suitable for the distribution of our media
product because, they have mainly
distributed paranormal horror films, which
is not the genre of our sequence,
however, they do have some exceptions
such as Get Out which is the same sub-
genre as our horror opening sequence.
Paramount Pictures is another multi-
media conglomerate which is a common
distributor of horror films. Some of their
popular films are:
1) Rings
2) Friday 13th
3) Psycho
We believe that this multi-media
conglomerate would also be suitable for
the distribution of our horror opening
sequence because, they also distribute
films with similar sub-genre to ours which
is psychological horror. Even though this
is a mainstream company, we believe that
our sequence is suitable for wider
audience, and it isn't only aimed at British
Audience.
Possible Distributors (Conglomerates)
4. Hammer Films is an independent
company who distribute films mainly to
British audiences. They have distributed
films such as:
1) The Woman In Black
2) Dracula
3) Let Me In
We believe this independent company
would be the best distributor for our
horror sequence because, the majority
of their distributed films are a
psychological horror which is the same
sub-genre of our
