 Question 2
How does your media product
  represent particular social groups?
• The aim and focus of my magazine was to stress the
importance of young females involved in Jazz music.
From my research on globally successful Jazz
magazines such as 'JazzTimes', I noticed that the
representation of Jazz females was minor this is
because the magazine normally distribute their
products with male musicians as the front cover.
It is because of this reason that I wanted to the product
to gain more recognition for females involved in Jazz -
  specifically younger females.
Sub - Cultures
The subculture element of the product (front cover) is
demoed through the use of clothing which is vintage retro;
Jazz females who have a particular interest in fashion will
favour the image. I selected this style of clothing to emphasise
how stylish and independent Jazz females are.
I have decided to create this image because a stereotype of
young females occupied in Jazz may be that their image is
tedious and dull compared young females who listen to the
genres of music such as : Pop, Rock, Hip Hop, Indie etc.
Furthermore, the use of clothing creates a fashion statement
as well as highlighting the significance of the genre of music.
The target audience may find this inspirational.
Representation in image

This is the type or representation that I wanted my
product to have; the image is representative of all
ethnicities, which essential in including all females who
enjoy the genre of Jazz. However, my magazine
contradicts this idea as it is only representative of two
ethnicities: black and mixed race. This is because the
magazine is maintaining the roots of Jazz, but still wants
to include other ethnicities in the product.
The image here is representative of the target
