The document discusses how the media product of a music video challenges conventions of real music videos. It summarizes how the music video challenges conventions in its mis-en-scene portrayals of the artist, locations featured, use of swaying camera movements, lip syncing techniques, and reversing of clips. The document also discusses how the media products of a music magazine advert and digipack challenge conventions in their use of colors, placement of key information like artist names and album titles, central focus on the artist, and inclusion of lyrics.
Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.
2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

This presentation provides a briefing on how to upload submissions and documents in Google Classroom. It was prepared as part of an orientation for new Sainik School in-service teacher trainees. As a training officer, my goal is to ensure that you are comfortable and proficient with this essential tool for managing assignments and fostering student engagement.
3. The ways in which my music video challenges conventions
of realmedia products
My music video challenges typical conventation forms in a number of
different ways. Firstly as my music videos genre is rap and hip hop it was
enssential that I copying the media conventions that were within this
Genre.
One of the first typical conventions in which I challenge was the mis-en
scene with my characters. Consiering that the artist in which I was rap I
think I portayed their mis en scen pretty well. The typical convention of a
rap artists misen scene is to have a flat cap, zipped up hoodie and jeans.
As my artists ha this I think that I done very well in getting the right outfits.
Below is a screen shot of my artists and the artists in which I was doing I
music video for and a picture of my two artists. As you can see from the
bottom two images I think I have done well in trying to represent the artists
and developed their image very well.
4. Another way in which my music video challenged some of the media
forms in which my artist portray is through the use of locations. Within my
artsits music video for opposite of adults the typical locations in which
they film in are places such as parks, streets and in a garden area. In my
music video I had all of these locations do I think I managed to portray
their image well here. Also I further filmed in other places in which you
would associate with children as that is the meaning of the song. From
this I think that I developed the location further then originally done. As
you can see below from the two pictures they are similar images in terms
of locations. The one on the right is the artists and they are in a skate
park and in the one on the left it is an actual park. Showing the
similarities of the two pictures, in this I thik I have done quite well.

5. Another media form in which I tred to
challenge was recording whilst swaying. This
is quite a common medie technique used in
hip hop/rap genres. The effect in which this
gives a more positive vibe as it gives the
representation of people dancing. This is used
quite a lot such as opposite of adults and other
music videos such as “Kid Ink – Sunset”. By
having this effect of swaying whilst recording I
think it gave a more better feel to my music
vieo and mae it more engaging for the
audiences.
6. The most common convention in which is used in
practically all genres and music videos is lip
syncing. This is basically getting the artist to sing
along to the music track and then cut this into
different parts of the music video. The ways in
which it is done in my artists music video is small
section in which they are lip syncing then cutting
to different scenes. By looking at my music video
you will also be able to see this method. So
challenging the ways in which the music video
portrays the methods of how my artists use lip
syncing I think I have done quite well in this
aspect.
7. Another media technique I used in my music vieo was
reversing clips. Within coldplays the scientist this is a
commonly use technique. Within this music video this is
where I got my inspiration. Within sections of my music
video such as when my main artist is dancing I reversed
the clip to make them work well together and look like a
whole another clip in total. This technique was quite a
simple technique in which I create through the use of
premier pro. Even though this was quite an simple
technique to create I think that this was very effective
within my work. This benifitted my work greatly I believe.
Overall looking at the ways in which I developed and
challenged typical media convention in which you would
find in this specific genre I think that I have done quite
well.
9. Looking at my music vieo the main
convention in which my music video
is to be in black and white. This was
quite an effective media type that I
used within my music video as it
gives it quite a good serious effect.
The advert is not completely black
and white and has a few colours.
These colours are the dominant
colours within the magazine in
which helps make the magazine
advert stand out. The use of having
some dominant colours around the
whole magazine and allows the
viwer to be engaged in all areas of
the magazine and allowing them to
look at the whole magazine.
10. Whilst researching typical conventions in which are used
in music magazine adverts ones in which were
constantly appearing were ones such as Artists names,
album names, tour dates and record labels. As these
were the typical conventions in which were used.I
managed to get as many of these conventions into my
musci video as possible. Starting with the album title and
artists names.I positioned these in the most common
spot in which they are found on music magazines. This
was at the top of my magazine advert and the biggest
text as this was the most important piece of information
in which I was trying to get across with my music
magazine. Having the album title and artist names and
the most domiant information within a music magazine is
very commonly used I found from research, so I think
that I have managed to develop these conventions very
well into my own magazine advert. Other typical
conventions in which are commonly used are things
such as record labels and tour dates. Both in which I
have embedded into my music magazine and think that
they have blended in very well together. As you can see
from the images to the right these have blended in well
with my music magazine.
11. Another common convention that is
practically always used within a music
magazine advert is use of the artists. I
have put good use my artist in the ways
that they are shown within my music
magazine I feel. I have ensured that they
are the main feature within my magazine
advert and put them in the centre of my
music magazine advert. By this I was
following typical media conventions of a
music magazine advert and done this well.
Overall I think that I have manged to
display and chanllenge the media
conventions within the music magazine
advert. Looking at my digipack I think that
I have done well in displaying typical
media conventions and developing them
within my digipack.
13. Researching into digipacks there were a lot of
different typical conventions in which I found.
Some of the more common typical conventions
consisted of things such as Title name, Album
name and lyrics from some of the songs.
Developing these typical convention within my
own digipack mean that it would allow my
digipack to be mistaken as something else and
a lot more proffesional as it has the common
themes within it. Looking at the images on the
left you can see some of the typical
conventions in which I previously mentioned.
The album title and artist cover can be found in
the image above. Both conventions are
displayed in the top right image and think they
show the digipack conventions to great effect.
The lyrics from a song are shown within a
image below and think that they greatly show
the typical media conventions also.
