The student created a school magazine that resembles real magazines in some ways but also differs in other ways. Specifically, the magazine includes a masthead like real magazines but the front cover image is sideways rather than face-on. The content page also resembles real magazines with images and web links, but differs in its use of consistent colors throughout rather than varying colors. The magazine represents Bishop Douglass students as smart, educated, and hardworking and shows the school has high standards and prepares students for future careers. The intended audience is the whole school to show younger students what older students do and vice versa. The student made the front cover appealing through colors and a catchy title to attract the audience. Through the process, the student learned to

Wireless communication involves the transmission of information over a distance without the help of wires, cables or any other forms of electrical conductors.
Wireless communication is a broad term that incorporates all procedures and forms of connecting and communicating between two or more devices using a wireless signal through wireless communication technologies and devices.
Features of Wireless Communication
The evolution of wireless technology has brought many advancements with its effective features.
The transmitted distance can be anywhere between a few meters (for example, a television's remote control) and thousands of kilometers (for example, radio communication).
Wireless communication can be used for cellular telephony, wireless access to the internet, wireless home networking, and so on.

Evaluation of Preliminary task
1. In what ways does your media school
magazine use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?
• I think my school magazine looks like a real magazine because it has
a masthead which gives a impact of alliteration on the reader. I also
used puffs which creates that feeling of real magazine because
magazines use puffs in their magazine. However, my school
magazine does differ from real magazine because in a real magazine
the front cover image is normally face on whereas my front cover
has a image taken sideways from the back. My content page is laid
out like a real magazine because it has a image which most
magazines do and I have web links connecting to Facebook, Twitter
and school site as well. My contents page differs slightly in my use
of colours whereby my font mostly the same throughout the
content page and colours used are unlikely to be used in a
magazine. However I chose to do it that way so my content and
magazine as a whole as a identity.
2. How does your product represent
particular students?
My magazine represents these
particular students as smart and
educated as well as hard working.
This magazine indicates that
Bishop Douglass is a enthusiastic
school with high standards for
students. The uniform of Bishop
Douglass shown on the left
suggest that BD get students
ready for work life in the future.
From a outside perspective it
makes the school look very
sophisticated.
3. In most cases school magazine are made within
the school because there are not many
advertisement.
What kind of media institution (publisher) might
distribute your media product and why?
4. Who would be the audience for your media
product?
For my magazine I don’t have a
set target audience, my magazine
targets the whole school as I
would like the younger students
to see what the older students
get up to and vice verse. Different
pages in the magazine have
different target audiences for
example work experience would
target the older students whilst
what do students think of BD
would be more of a general
audience .
5. How did you attract/address your
audience?
The front cover has to be very appealing to the
audience because that’s what they see first so it’s
important to draw your audience in using colours
and the title, which I used both in this case. The
colours I used were yellow, black and white, initially
the magazine cover was just black and white but by
adding the yellow it gave the picture that cutting
edge to catch the eye of the audience. For the title I
used a recent film that came out that was a big hit
and in addition very catchy and easy to remember. I
attract my audience by giving them or telling them
information that is beneficial for them, for example
‘how to achieve your ATG’ is beneficial to all
students no matter what age, the more the
magazine has a affect on them the likelier they are
going to buy it and take interest in it.
6. What have you learnt about technologies from the
process of constructing this product?
• With so many technologies (PowerPoint, Word,
Pic monkey and Prezi) on offer I was able to use
different technologies to create my magazine.
Using Pic monkey has allowed me to give an extra
effect on the image itself and make the magazine
look more innovated. With so many fonts on offer
I was able to choose one that best fits my title
and image. For my contents page I used Microsoft
word as I wanted to highlight my range of using
different technologies, when using word I keep
across a variety of smart tools which I looked and
used until I found one which I liked.
