2. Technologies: iMovie as an editing tool
• iMovie allowed me to cut, edit and add sound effects to
my trailer.
• iMovie (the video editing software) allowed me to cut
the trailer at the specific moments I chose. I was using a
Mac computer for the first time and was surprised by the
advance quality of the software.
• Overall, I found the process of using iMovie enjoyable as
it let me add my own sound effects and cut the piece as
and when I wanted to.
3. Creativities: How Creative were you
with the use of footage?
• I tried to include several different techniques in the editing of
the clips. The iVideo software enabled me to edit sounds and
scenes whilst deleting any unwanted footage therefore I could
cut it down in order to attract a specific audience.
• After I was satisfied with the footage, I was able to adjust the
sound levels and add effects to make the clips slot together
accordingly. This was good as it helped with the authenticity
of the product.
4. Conventions: How did you make use of
current soap opera conventions?
• I tried to include different soap opera conventions in my edit.
My main aim was to keep the audience engaged and I tried to
do this by editing the clips to create a feeling of suspense.
• I also tried to keep a vary in the types of camera angle
throughout the clip. I used a mixture of MS, CU and LS shots
in my piece.
