Evaluation
In this project I chose Barack Obama because he is an iconic man because he is the president of the
USA.I also chose it because I looked easy to recreate because it is just a portrait which is very easy to
recreate. In the photo I had to sit on a chair in front of a plain wall whilst another member of my
class took the photo as he was stood opposite me.
What new skills have you learnt?
The new skills I have learnt after completing this project are to think logically about my recreation
for example as the picture I chose to recreate is very basic and can’t really be shown that effort has
been put in.
What effects/tools did you use?
The camera setting I used was the auto setting, I used this setting because I did not need a flash or a
high shutter speed all I need was the ordinary setting to provide an image that I could of made
higher quality. I also used this setting because if I had used a flash it may have made the picture look
faded or could have provided direct light where it wasn’t needed.
In my portrait I did not use any effects because my photo was too blurry to edit. All I did was crop it
to a similar size. If I was to do effects I would have tried to match the quality of the original as it is
very high quality and makes him stand out to the background.
Strengths and weaknesses:
My portrait has some weaknesses and strengths. The main weaknesses were that I could not edit it
and that it is quite blurry. Another weakness is that I am not at the same angle as Barack Obama
what I needed to do was stand more face on to the camera to see the body span of my shoulders.

Are you pleased with it?
In general I am not that pleased with it because I could have been at a different angle and I could
have made it a lot clearer. If I did the whole project again I would have done a completely different
portrait. I would have done this because even if I did the same one again I don’t think that I could of
got it as accurate as the real portrait.
Have you successfully recreated the photo?
In my opinion I don’t think I have successfully recreated the portrait because it doesn’t stand out as
a Barack Obama portrait. However if you were to line them up next to each other you would
immediately be able to pick out similarities.
