EVALUATION
QUESTION 1
In what ways does your media product use,
develop or challenge forms of conventions of
real media products ?
My music video is not that different to other Pop
videos that have meaningful messages that
they’re trying to put across. From watching the
video of the song I've chosen and similar videos
with similar aims, I have seen that one thing in
particular that is significant in these videos is the
camera angels/movements. This is because from
these things you can really tell a story and do so
much with it to add effect.
• I’ve learnt that the use of close ups really comes in
handy to these type of videos because it’s a form of
relation between the artist and their audience. From
the close up you can see the artist’s emotions very
clearly, whether happy/sad and it can also cause the
audience to connect and also understand what the
artist is feeling.

• Seeing as my song was related to sadness and
aimed to cause my audience to empathize
with my actress, I put close up shots to very
good use.
• I also discovered that songs like these have videos where the
artist/actress is really emotional and passionate about what
they are saying and want to show it during their performance.
I used some of these elements in my own video to have that
same effect because when I was watching them I was feeling
emotional from what I was watching.
