2. TARGETED AUDIENCE
• Initially, we had decided to focus on males between 16-25. However, once we had finished
and were re-watching our thriller, we realized that the way that we filmed it, would not engage
a group of 16 year old boys as a lot of our sequence is filmed in slow motion. 16-year-old boys
would be more interested in high-action movies such as ‘Transformers’.
• Therefore, we increased the age group to 18-25 as they would be more sophisticated and
would appreciate the sequence more.
3. THE ACTION SEQUENCES
• We knew from the beginning that our thriller would be extremely stylized. To do this, we used
a variety of slow motion and sped up filming to engage our targeted audience.
• When the actors were about to hit each other, we slowed down the moment that they made
physical contact to increase the tension and prolong the hit.
• We then sped up the moment after they touched, as it links to our genre of a high-action
thriller.
4. CHARACTERS
• Our actors are both white, middle age males
• In our situation, of being AS Media students, we had to go with actors who
were easily available and who best qualified in the roles that we wanted.
However, if this was an actual film, we probably would have gone for
younger actors, who may have been slightly more ‘tough’ looking, as it would
fit the atmosphere more clearly.
5. • Initially, we had decided that the
actors were going to wear black track
pants with a black hoodies that
covered their faces, to add more
suspense and tension. As shown in
the thriller, the actors did not have the
hoodies, therefore it slightly lacked the
ominous feel we intended on creating.
• As for our text, we added graphic effects
to make our thriller look more intense, as
well as cutting the text so we could
change the size of the text to make it
look as though it had been jittering.
