2. OB: Create a Title
Our first objective was to
create a title or name for
this project.
We came up with the name ‘Be
Yourself’, we came up with
this name because we
wanted a name that is
short, easy to remember
and catchy but we also
wanted it to relate to our
aim of this project which is
helping girls gain
confidence.
According to most of the
audience/customers I interviewed, they
said that this title is catchy and also
reflects and relates to the aim of the
project.

3. OB: Create a Logo
Our second objective was to create
a logo for our project that
people will remember when
they see the logo.
We wanted a logo that was simple
but eye catching so we used
very bright yet eye catching
colors as the main color scheme
of this logo. I also added the
title of the project as part of
the logo because the logo is
suppose to represent the whole
entire project.
After interviewing 4-5 of our
customers/audience, most of them said
that the title of the project in the logo
was too small and it should be bolder. But
overall many of our customers said that
the logo is eye catching and girly (it
relates to our theme of the project).

4. OB: Create a Chinese version and an
English version
Our third objective was to create a
Chinese version and English
version of the app so that not
only will people who can read
English benefit from it but also
people in Hong Kong that cannot
read English as well as others.
Due to the amount of time we had,
we couldn’t create the Chinese
version of the app. Due to the
fact that we spent most of our
time researching and making
videos, we didn’t have time to
translate the English app into a
Chinese app.
To make the Chinese version of the app
possible, I think we should have
managed our time better with not
everybody working on the English app
but some people in the group could
have worked on creating the Chinese
app at the same time.

5. OB: Make it colorful and appealing to
the audience
Our forth objective was to create a
colorful and appealing app to
make the experience more
interesting and to make the app
more fun to use.
Our color scheme of this app was to
use a pink color palette because
the main audience of this
project is teenage girls. We
wanted the font to look like
handwriting but at the same
time also readable so we used
‘Jenne Sue’. We also added
videos so that the app wouldn’t
be too boring to use.
After interviewing some of our
audience, most of them said that the
videos made the app more
interesting and the font made the
whole app appear ‘girlyer’.

6. OB: Add different forms of Media
Our fifth objective was too add
different media to enhance
the experience of using the
app.
We added videos that we
filmed and edited. There are
videos on fitness and beauty.
We also added fashion
Photoshop collages to add
color and pictures to the
app.
After interviewing some of our audience,
most of them said the the videos and
collages helps to make the app more
interesting. One area we can improve on
is the quality and sound of the videos can
be improved.

7. OB: Add advice which is easy to do and
effective
Our sixth objective is to add
advices that are easy to do
and effective.
We wanted simple advices
that would be easy to do
but also effective so that
our audience and
customers can easily
benefit from using our app
for a short amount of time.
I don’t think we added enough simple
and effective advices, we only added
a very small amount in the videos. I
think that we could add a simple slide
for only simple advices.

8. OB: Make a free iPad/iPhone app
Our seventh objective is to create an
iPad or iPhone app. We used
iSpring to create a flash based app
that can be opened on iPads and
iPhones.
We started with a simple PowerPoint
with embedded videos, iSpring
changes the PowerPoint into a
flashed based ‘presentation’ that
can be played on iPads and
iPhones.

9. OB: Teach some easy stretching moves
and dancing routines to help teens
find interest
Our eighth objective is to add some
fitness routines to help our
audience become fit. We chose
to do stretching moves and
simple ballet dance routines
because we thought it would be
the easiest for beginners.
We made videos to teach our
audience easy stretching moves
and dance routines. We made
on video for stretching and one
video for dance. We then edited
it and embedded it on the
PowerPoint.
After interviewing some of our
audience, most of them said that the
quality of the video and the sound
could be improved but the overall
concept is very good.

10. OB: Add tips and advises for keeping
healthy and fit
Our ninth objective was to add
tips and advises for keeping
healthy and fit. We used
videos to tell our audience
different tips.
In each of our videos we added
different tips for this area. We
included stretching moves,
dancing routines, ways to
increase your flexibility and
how to make healthy but good
food.
According to most of our audience,
they said that we could add more tips
on healthy food/eating because as of
right now we only have one slide on
food and healthy eating.

11. OB: Post makeup videos
Our tenth objective was to add
makeup videos because makeup
can help enhance a girl’s inner
beauty and helps a girl gain
confidence.
We filmed basic everyday makeup
videos and edited them but
cutting the videos and added
music and voice over to explain
the steps. In the makeup videos
we added simple makeup tips for
beginners.
Most of our audience said that the
makeup videos are good, but the
quality can be improved and the
voiceover can be clearer. But the
overall video and the content is
good.

12. OB: Add quotes to inspire visitors
Our eleventh objective is to add
quotes to inspire and motivate
our audience or customers.
Quotes are simple but effective
at the same time.
We added a quote at the end of the
whole PowerPoint. The quote
can motivate our audience to
gain confidence and to show
their inner beauty.
We only added one quote at the
end of the app, I think that we
should add more quotes
throughout the app to keep a
constant motivation to our
audience.

13. OB: Add background music to
entertain visitors
Our last objective is to add background
music to our app. We wanted an
app that was not boring to look at
but entertaining.
We were going to add music to the
app at the end but after adding the
videos, we thought there was no
point because more than half of
our video slides had a video so the
music had to stop and play over
and over again.
