Ethiopia has a large population of orphans and street children due to famine, conflict, and diseases that have claimed many parents' lives. There are over 60,000 street children living in the capital city and 95% of girls living on the streets have been sexually exploited. Ethiopia also has a significant number of refugees spread across the world and within neighboring countries, many of whom do not receive adequate treatment and support. Over half of Ethiopia's population lives below the poverty line and suffers from hunger, with millions requiring food assistance each year. Ethiopia is also very ethnically and linguistically diverse, with over 80 languages spoken among different ethnic groups and tribes with unique cultural practices and traditions.
