I have relished teaching Biochemistry during my more than Ten years teaching experience in a medical, dental, nursing and health science colleges. It was because of constant inspiration from my students that I could come up with Essentials Textbook of Biochemistry for Nursing book, which hopefully would meet the inadequacies the students face in other books. This is an introductory course to Biochemistry and is about medical biochemistry including the biochemical processes of - digestion & absorption of foods, metabolism of different kinds of foods & their disturbance effects in our body together with the physiological roles of different kinds of vitamins & enzymes. The book consists of Theory as well as Practical portion. The author has tried his best to make all the concepts of each unit as lucid and simple as required for the students with supportive examples, samples, diagrams, clinical disorders and practical works. The ultimate purpose of this book is to equip the reader with comprehensive knowledge in Biochemistry with reference to basic as well as clinical aspects. At last, I have made every effort to make the book error free, I am under no illusion. Gadhi-6), Sunsari, Nepal and son of Shree Kapleshwar Yadav and
Sonita Devi Yadav. He has completed his graduation in Medical
Laboratory Technology (B.Sc.MLT) from Doon (PG) Paramedical
college, Dehradun, UK, India affiliated to HNB Garhwal University
Uttarakhand, India and post graduation in Medical Biochemistry
(M.Sc. Medical Biochemistry) from Mamata Medical College,
Khammam, A.P., India affiliated to Dr. NTR University of Health
Science, Vijaywada, A.P., India. He has also completed Diploma in
Nutrition & Health Education (DNHE) from IGNOU, New Delhi,
India. He achieved 1st

rank in Batch) during graduation and 1st

rank in University during post graduation.
He has started his career as a part-time faculty member at Angel College of Nursing,
Khammam (A.P), India during his post graduation. He has worked as a Lecturer at Green
Tara College of Health Sciences, Sainbu-2, Lalitpur, Nepal & Nobel college of Medical
Sciences, Sinamangal, Kathmandu, Nepal since 2012. He is working as a Lecturer at
Madan Bhandari Academy of Health Sciences, Bagmati Province, Hetauda, Nepal since
2021. He has more than 10 years of teaching experience in a medical, dental, nursing and
health science colleges. He is professional member of Nepal Health Professional Council:
NHPC Regd. No “A-974 MLT” & “A-53 Med. Biochemistry”.
He has actively participated in different International/National/ State level/ Zonal
conferences, Training workshop, CME programmes and also involved in various research
activities. He presented research paper and poster during National and International
Conferences. Despite his profession, he has been involved in many social activities and
he is a founder member of Sonita Devi Foundation Nepal (SDFN) for Social commitment.
Sushma Bhadeshwar (Yadav) was born in VDC- Dhangadhi-3,
Saptari, Nepal and daughter of Amrendra Psd. Yadav. She has
completed her graduation in Nursing (B.Sc.Nursing) from Norvic
Institute of Nursing Education Maharajgunj, Kathmandu,
NEPAL and post graduation in Sociology (M.A. Sociology) from
Tribhuvan University Kathmandu, Nepal.
She has started her career as a Nursing Instructor at Green Tara
College of Health Sciences, Sainbu-2, Lalitpur, Nepal. She is

Zonal Hospital, Rajbiraj, Saptari, Nepal. She has actively participated in different National
and International conferences, Training workshop, CME programmes. She has awarded
