Essays About Romeo And Juliet
Crafting an essay on the subject of "Essays About Romeo and Juliet" presents both challenges
and opportunities for exploration. On one hand, the topic is iconic and timeless, offering a
wealth of material to analyze and discuss. On the other hand, the sheer volume of existing
literature on this subject can be overwhelming, making it a daunting task to provide a fresh
perspective.
The difficulty lies in striking a balance between presenting well-established themes and
interpretations and introducing novel insights. Since "Romeo and Juliet" is a classic play that has
been scrutinized from numerous angles, avoiding clichГ©s and regurgitating commonly held
opinions becomes a significant challenge. The key is to delve deeper into the nuances of the
characters, the socio-cultural context, and the language employed by Shakespeare to unveil
layers of meaning that may not be immediately apparent.
Additionally, the challenge extends to navigating the vast sea of academic resources, from
critical analyses to historical contexts. Discerning which sources are most relevant and how to
integrate them seamlessly into the essay is a skill that requires time and careful consideration.
Moreover, maintaining a coherent structure and ensuring a logical flow of ideas can be
demanding when addressing such a multifaceted topic.
In conclusion, composing an essay on "Essays About Romeo and Juliet" requires a delicate
balance of creativity and scholarly rigor. It demands a thorough understanding of the play, the
ability to synthesize existing knowledge, and the skill to present a unique perspective. While the
task may be formidable, the rewards lie in the opportunity to contribute to the ongoing dialogue
surrounding this literary masterpiece.

Tijuana Summary
Questions Derived from Moral Landscaping
Ian Bogost investigated how games could teach particular procedures and practical
systems to players. But Julian Dibbel s investigation in Tijuana revealed how
players could transform procedures into self serving, manipulative machines.
Profiteering is likely not the lesson Bogost or Epistemic Games for that matter
hoped to teach players. But what is the difference between Epistemic Games
transferring players power into solutions to real life problems and Blacksnow
transferring power into real life profit? Simply stated, it is the players motivation.
More complexly stated, a game like Candy Crush commits no moral error by placing
players into a work based system of economic growth.

And are these games really just simulations of real life? This would make sense
since games now have real life applications and implications. But all things
considered, the difference between a game and a simulation is arbitrary and based
strictly on one s definition of each term. If the difference relies on how realistic the
game is in its mechanics and play style, then Call of Duty might as well be called a
combat simulator. Does a VR set such as the Oculus Rift along with the still in
development rifle shaped controller and multi direction gaming treadmill
automatically turn a game into a simulation? Perhaps every game is a low stakes
simulation of its real life counterparts. Pit, then, is a non digital, non profit simulation
of stock market trading...that is, of course, unless one started playing for money.
Then, does the inclusion of money turn a game into a simulation, or even into work?
These terms are debatable. What is clear is the driving factor behind why games are
made beyond artistic expression, though not mutually exclusive of it, is the desire for
profit.
The gaming industry, much like the motion picture industry, is a business, driven by
profit. Whether other companies design games for other uses to teach or to problem
solve is outside the scope of what the industry (not so much the indie developers)
prides itself on. King wants to make money for its product; that is common sense.

THE TREND OF THE FUTURE:
ELECTRIC CARS BY TESLA MOTORS
I. SITUATIONAL ANALYSIS
The concern for the environment has never been bigger than at the turn of the
century. The growing acceptance of global warming, coupled with the growing green
marketing galore gave impetus for the clamor for major auto companies to build a
better and more affordable electric car. This plus the unpredictable oil price spikes
and hikes, is intensifying the race to build the ideal car of the future at a greater
height.
The poster child of the independent electric car movement has been Tesla Motors.

It would take about 9 days to get the same amount of energy from household electric
current. Fortunately, it takes hours and not days to recharge an electric car, because it
s much more efficient. And you never have to leave home to recharge!
Electric cars are extremely simple. There s no oil to change, no filters, no clutch, no
fluids, no crazy mechanical systems. This makes the electric car so much cheaper to
operate because there s hardly any maintenance, like oil changes and emissions
checks, that internal combustion cars require.
Electric car cuts away our dependency on oil as well and frees us from the
unpredictable oil price hikes and spikes that are so common these days.
For the car savvy drivers, electric motors develop their highest torque from zero
rpms meaning fast (and silent) zero to 60 acceleration times. This means they snap
to life at the touch of the accelerator. It does 0 60 mph in 3.7 seconds, making
electric cars the fastest cars in the world. Electric cars can be direct drive, so there s
no transmission or complex gearbox. Power is applied smoothly and quietly.
Acceleration is effortless.

As a rule, West Point trained generals held citizen soldiers and officers in low
regard. Not Lee; he understood those whom he led, he appreciated their sacrifices
for what they believed in, and adapted his leadership to suit them. The Army of
Northern Virginia was a collection of citizen soldiers from the various Confederate
states, not a professional army of career soldiers. Southerners of the nineteenth
century, and indeed most Americans at the time, held intensely local sympathies;
loyalties to community and state were usually more important than conceptions of
American patriotism. Grant perceived one strategic imperative: A focus on the
enemy s armies through maneuver and offensive action. Lincoln agreed with
Grant in this respect, but he also operated under a second strategic imperative.
Faced with this opposition, Grant used dialogue and negotiation to get his
essential point across where his predecessors had failed. Grant did this by
employing integrative, or collaborative, bargaining, an approach that uses shared
interests and cooperation to arrive at a satisfactory outcome. Grant and Lincoln
agreed on the end result they desired, and they really did agree on the overall
approach just not on the specific question of a line of operation. Grant was able to
convince Lincoln of the soundness of his overall plan, and as a result, he got much
of it implemented. Grant was at his best as a strategic leader because he
The Hidden Treasure Of History
There was a time where I thought my small hometown of Portage, Pa was nothing
more than a few streets that consisted of churches, small town businesses, and
homes that housed only about 2,500 people. After many hours of research I have
come to find that this small town is actually a hidden treasure of history that is far
too fascinating to express. Although the town of Portage, Pa is only 125 years old,
it is full of rich history that has shaped the Portage we all know today. Portage would
not be the town it is today without the economic successes it had with the coal
industry and more importantly the rule it played in the Allegheny Portage railroad.
The geography of our town couldn t have been more perfect to house the railroad with

After a few adjustments to plans the building of the railroad began. The railroad
was be completed by 1834 and it would be named the Allegheny Portage Railroad;
the word portage is from the French word porter meaning to carry and Noah Webster
defines Portage as carrying something overland from one body of water to another
(Portage Centennial Book Committee, 1990, p.3 4). The Allegheny Portage railroad
would later be added onto the great Pennsylvania railroad that would serve
throughout the whole state. So, first came the railroad and then because of the
railroad, the growth of this new town began.
Because of the railroad being built on this land that was all dense woodland and
the steam engines in this area ran only on wood, the lumbering industry began.
Sawmills were build all around the land that is now today Portage. Then with the
new founding of coal, coal mines were also being built. This had a great economic
impact on this land and in the 1860 s and 1870 s settlers began to flood into this
area; most of these settlers were English and German speaking people (Portage
Centennial Book Committee, 1990, p.7 8). During this time there was a town
called old Portage and a town next to it called New Portage. In 1878 the old Portage
would be changed to Portage Township and on October 7, 1890 new Portage

Essay on The Necessity of Selfishness
Previously, parents quickly taught their children the importance of sharing and
considering others needs before their own. They expected their offspring to
submissively sacrifice incongruent desires and wishes. Parents did not tolerate
selfishness from anyone at anytime. Then came the millennials, also called the me
generation. The typical millennial, concerned only with his or her own happiness,
pursues self satisfaction relentlessly. They only reflect upon their fellow man s needs
when it benefits them. Millennials have been called lazy, selfish, and worthless by
their peers. This leads one to ponder selfishness roots, how it became such an
undesirable trait and whether or not it actually impairs society. Through Atlas

She simply argues that they should embrace selfishness enough to align their values
and their lives. She sates that, the most selfish of all things is the independent mind.
(Rand 943)
With selfishness clearly defined, Rand uses the plot to illustrate her conviction. She
begins by calling destruction sacrifice s result. When United States citizens
contentedly give control to the government, everything falls apart. Businesses go
bankrupt following corrupt laws in fairness name. People starve and disappear. The
government mistreats and abuses the public in every form; however, they refuse to
question their actions or even think. I feel as if...as if there s no people and no
human language left...I feel that someone is screaming in the middle of the streets,
but people are passing by and no sound can reach them. (Rand 406) Eddie wilders
captures what happens when people willingly sacrifice themselves because a stranger
orders it without revealing why. When humanity will not use their minds, think,
analyze or even question, when they rely solely on emotion, destruction will
inevitably follow. Any refusal to accept reality, for any reason whatever, has
disastrous consequences.
The Disadvantages And Disadvantages Of Sweatshops In
America
Sweatshops have been around for ages and many people support them because of the
lower prices within the US, but what about the disadvantages of them? Sweatshops
include labor abuse, racism and disadvantages, and unsafe working conditions
continue to occur within victims stories suggesting we should try to close them
down. Although sweatshops may help families in need of money even if there s not a
lot of it, there are too many disadvantages to sweatshops and what lie within them.
Sweatshops require many garment workers in order to function and many of those
workers are immigrants or people who don t speak english as their first language.
This labor abuse occuring within the sweatshops takes place with workers receiving
under the $3.15 minimum wage and forcing workers to continue making clothing for
more than seventy hours a week. Labor abuse even happens in sweatshops with
children, teens, and adults. It s no wonder why people complain about their
sweatshops to newspapers and conferences, the owners can beat raced people if they
feel like it and the workers can not complain or they ll get beaten too.
Racism and disadvantages take place all over the world since the 1800 s and still
takes place today in sweatshops .Carmencita Abad, a garment worker from the
Philippines who worked in Saipan for six years told a news conference in New
York said that she suffered retaliation for trying to form a union and help chinese
workers. She said that many workers pay as much as seven thousand dollars to
recruiters to get the job often live eight to a room, must buy bug infested food from
the factory owners and routinely earn much less than the local $3.15 an hour
minimum wage because they are forced to donate up to twenty additional working
hours a week to the factory and if they complain the chinese workers can be beaten
and/or punished.
This abuse occurs while US retailers watch, I have seen too many times the Gap
inspector come into the factory look at the garments and fabric then walk out the
door. She said she read the retailers code of conduct which it was only posted in
English making it almost impossible for the Chinese workers to read.
We are deeply concerned by the allegations Gap. Inc. does not
Mens Brains Vs Women s Brain
Mr. Gungor made a point that, men s brains have boxes and no boxes touch and that
men only pull out that box and want to talk about what s only inside that box.
However, women on the other hand, their brain is all wires and one thing is
connected to the other. For example, the job is connected to the house, and the car
and the finance, and those are connected some way to our lives in general, groceries,
emotion, living. Women s brains are a big emotional ball of thought. This paper will
look at the differences in men s brains in relationships, and women s brains in
relationships and how they are similar and different. I feel Mark Gungor made a

I ve seen men who will punch walls, lockers, and yell or scream at you if they are
angry or upset. I have seen men who will cry, but that is a rare occasion. Men seem
to be less emotional about things than women, but certain emotions are stronger than
women s emotions. Men sometimes do not want to talk to you if they are upset
about something. They like to keep things to themselves. I think men don t stress as
much as women or maybe not as much over little things. Women normally won t
punch things when they get angry. They just have a tendency to yell at you or bite
your head off. Women will cry more often than men. If you yell at her or she s had a
bad day and you won t listen to her talk she might get upset and cry. Women put more
emotion into things than men do. Women seem to stress more, even over little things
that might not be that important to stress about. Women will come home and if
supper isn t made yet she will stress over supper when there may be something more
important that needs to be worried

it difficult to document cheating among sumo wrestlers in Japan? One of the case

socioeconomic status. This bluff is very difficult to document for multiple reasons.
First, it is a game of national pride and Japanese people as well as the National Sumo
Association typically defend the integrity of their premier sport. Second, the powerful
and intricate incentive scheme makes the sumo elite a very restricted circle, difficult
to penetrate and its connection to the Japanese mafia Yakuza discourages or even

Cabeza de Vaca Essay
Alvar Nunez Cabeza de Vaca is best known as the first Spaniard to explore what we
now consider to be southwestern United States. His nine year odyssey is chronicled
within the book The Chronicle of the Narvaez Expedition. His account is considered
especially interesting because it is one of the very first documents that illustrates
interactions between American natives and explorers. However, when examining the
exploration of the modern United States, there are many arguments that have to do
with the entitlement to the land and the motivations behind settling in the first place.
Most explorers were obviously in favor of their own conquests and Cabeza de Vaca is
of course no exception. In Chronicle of the Narvaez Expedition, Cabeza de... Show

However, he then goes on to say how deeply moved they were, which is somewhat
ironic. It s almost as if Cabeza de Vaca and his followers know that the Indians aren

manipulate their supposed worthiness and justify their claims. He also goes on to
explain the warrior like tendencies of the Indians and how fierce and relentless they
are. He describes them by saying, whoever has to fight Indians must take great care
not to let them think he is disheartened or that he covets what they own. In war they
must be treated very harshly, for should they notice either fear or greed, as a people
they know how to bide their time waiting for revenge and take courage from their
enemies fears. After using up all their arrows, they part, each going his own way,
without attempting pursuit, although one side might have more men than the other.
Such is their custom. (68) They have these customs that are very unnatural and are
not normative behavior. Cabeza de Vaca refers to the customs of the Charruco Indians

The Manhattan Project Lifesaver Or Life Destroyer Essay
The Manhattan Project Lifesaver or Life Destroyer Going throughout history and
the mistakes we have made throughout, you would think back and say if we did the
right thing or if we have made a huge mistake. In this case it is the Manhattan
Project. This project was first time the atomic bomb was introduced. It was led by
General Leslie Groves and the research was directed by American scientist J. Robert
Oppenheimer. Most of the people who worked on this project were not told what
they were working on, but only told what to do. In this case, was it right to lie to the
people working on this project, was it necessary not to tell the U.S. community, and
was it necessary to bomb Nagasaki and Hiroshima. The Manhattan Projectwas
necessary for certain things, but not all. As human beings, we tend to lie to
people. Whether it be to your parents, friends, or school teachers. It is just a thing
we do to keep ourselves from getting in trouble. When working on the Manhattan

not allowed to tell anyone else. This was because they did not want the US
community to know. They didn t know what type of response they would get. If

William Shakespeare s Vampire Bat
Final Assignment Part 2 by Brandy Mearnic
Vampire Bat
The vampire bat also comes from a Subfamily called desmodontinae. There are
three different types of bat species: The common vampire bat, hairy legged vampire
bat and white winged vampire bat. These three different species are mostly native to
the New World, but can be found in parts of Mexico and Brazil, Chile and Argentina.
Their main source of food is blood. Instead of sucking the blood to feed on they
make a small cut with their teeth and then lick up the blood from the fresh wound.
While feeding, they can feed for up to 30 minutes without waking the animal they are
feeding on up.
They have a short muzzle and instead of a nose leaf, they have exposed (or naked)
pads with u shaped grooves at the tip of the nose. The common vampire bat has
thermoreceptors that help the bat to locate areas where the blood flows close in it s
prey. Vampire bats have small ears and very short tail. The front teeth of a vampire bat
are designed for cutting and the back teeth are smaller than other bats. A bat s brain
processes sound and can detect breathing sounds of other animals sleeping. This part
of the brain is called the inferior colliculus. Mostly all bats have lost the ability to
walk on the ground, but there are some that still run while on the ground. Their wings
are much more powerful than their legs, though.
Bats live in colonies is complete, dark places such as caves, wells, trees and some
buildings. The number of

Mockingbird
The prejudice seen in the fictional novel To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee
corresponds with the narrow mindedness of many people during this time period.
Due to this prejudice, a fair trial would be unlikely between a white and a black
man. In the novel, Tom Robinson was presumed guilty because of his race and did
not receive a fair trial because the jury had formed adverse opinions of him prior to
the presentation of any evidence.
Prejudice is an adverse opinion or leaning formed without just grounds or before

University: prejudice... was part of the very fiber of Southern life [during the Great

The jury also showed signs of prejudice in the Scottsboro case. All twelve of the
jurymen concluded a guilty verdict for the first trial despite even medical
evidence: it was [Jack Tiller s] semen ... that was found in [Victoria Price s] vagina
and not that of any of the alleged black boys (Linder). The reasons the jury had for
its verdict were formed without just grounds or before sufficient knowledge going
back to the definition of prejudice stated in paragraph two. The jury had its decision
made before the case ever made it into the courtroom. The jury consisted of all
white men but it is not to say that a jury of all black men would have been any
fairer. The prejudice during the Great Depression did not only come from the
whites, many blacks also felt hate for the white men. The prejudice of white men
towards black men can be seen in To Kill a Mockingbird, especially during the trial
between Mr. Ewell and Tom Robinson over the alleged rape of his daughter Mayella.
In To Kill a Mockingbird, prejudice is seen repeatedly. Tom Robinson did not have
a chance at winning the trial solely because he was black. Despite the lack of
prejudice on Judge Taylor s behalf, the overwhelming prejudice in the jury convicted
Tom, sentencing him to the death penalty the penalty for rape in Alabama. Judge
Taylor shows that he lacks prejudice by

Sears Core Competencies Examined
All companies have core competencies that they use to differentiate their company,
product, or service from the competition, Sears is no exception. Also, it is common
for a company s core competencies to change, as their industry progresses through
phases and shifts its emphasis between product and process innovations (Regis
University, 2011), Sears is no exception. Yet, when a company s core competencies

By 1895, Sears s mail order business was gaining market acceptance and the Sears
catalog expanded to 532 items consisting of soup to nuts products for their customers
(Sears Archive, 2012), supporting the theory that early innovators do not have a
restriction on what they bring to market (Innovation Zen, 2006). Sears s core
competencies are innovation, selling, advertising, and merchandising (Sears Archive,
2012).
By 1906 Sears was operating the largest mail order plant in the world, but that
necessitated that the company s focus shift from design dominance to products and
process. Sears has entered the transitional stage of the Abernathy Utterback Model.
Sears is tasked with the need to handle mass orders economically and efficiently,
and develops the time scheduling system , which brings chaos to the mail order
industry and defines a significant core competence (Sears Archive, 2012). Around
the same time, Sears s customers are shifting their focus to quality, which drives the
need to replace the fancy Sears catalog with a factual based catalog. Sears s core
competencies are innovation, mail order process, quality products, perceived value,
and factual based advertisement (catalog).
By 1920, the landscape is changing from rural dwellers to city dwellers and people
living in cities outnumber rural dwellers for the first time. Sears has emerged as the
dominant design of mail order for both rural and city dwellers, but increasing

Emancipation Of Thought From Myth Summary
The Emancipation of Thought from Myth (1946) is an essay written by J Barnes
which explains the theories of philosophical and mythopoeic thinking in reference to
the Pre Socratics influence in human knowledge of thinking. Throughout this essay I
will be explaining the concepts of philosophical and mythopoeic thinking and how
they were related to the Pre Socratics. In addition to that I will elaborate on who
they initially were by referring to specific thinkers. Thereafter in conclusion I will
enlighten on why the Pre Socratics (600BC 470BC) were regarded as philosophical
thinkers rather than mythopoeic.
What is philosophy? Philosophy can be defined as the methodic investigation used by

Parmenides believed that change within reality is inevitable, movement is
impossible, all but just an illusion. He states that in reality there is only one thing the
universe. The thing that can be thought, and that for the sake of which the thought
exists, is the same; for you cannot find thought without something that is, as to which
is uttered. (Barnes, 1946, p. 385) What Parmenides explains is that, one can think
about what does not actually exist, but could possibly exist. He argues the fact of the

Owls Research Paper
Owls are known for puking little pellets of fur and bones, but this isn t quite
accurate. To better understand what does happen, let s look at how owls eat the
small animals they hunt. Once dinner is caught, the owl returns to its perch with the
dinner in its beak. The owl tosses the animal a bit and swallows it head first.
Unlike you and me, an owl does not take the time to chew his food. An owl
swallows the food whole. If necessary, it rips larger animals into chunks holding it
with a talon and using its hooked beak to tear the meal into pieces.
Once swallowed, the entire animal passes directly into the owl s stomach which
consists of two parts. It enters the proventriculus which coats the meal with digestive
enzymes and acids. Next, the

Political Propaganda In The Code Of Hammurabi
Imagined order, or shared beliefs that reinforce political and social structures of a
society, through political propaganda can be seen in many ancient civilizations.
The rulers of Mesopotamia, Egypt, and Rome established political propaganda in
different ways in order to construct or promote imagined order, which is an
essential part of a stable civilization. The Mesopotamian leader, Hammurabi, created
a set of laws and punishments for those laws called the Code of Hammurabi.
Included in the Code of Hammurabi is an introduction, where Hammurabi writes his
justifications and reasoning for the laws and rules he established. In the introduction,
he says he is supported by the gods and that he must, bring about the rule of
righteousness in the land...to further the wellbeing of mankind (*). This justification
is political propaganda that creates imagined order because the people under
Hammurabi s rule would believe that by breaking the laws, they are also betraying
or going against wishes of their gods, so they are much more likely to obey and not
question anything he says... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The unity of the different areas of Egypt created and promoted a sense of imagined
order in society. Unlike Hammurabi, who claimed to be supported by gods, the
Egyptian pharaohs considered themselves to be actual gods on Earth (@). This is
an example of political propaganda in Egypt because the pharaohs convincing the
people that they were gods enforced their absolute power over the empire.
Imagined order was created in the unity of Upper and Lower Egypt. The pharaoh
Menes, the first pharaoh, created this unity and order by wearing the crowns of
both Upper and Lower Egypt (#). Seeing this was a rarity in Egypt, but it showed
that the two sections of Egypt could be unified. This was necessary for a stable
society because the unity eliminated any tension between Upper and Lower
Pre Confirmation Retreat
I ve been a Catholic from the start; born and raised in a Catholic family. I went to
church every week, learned the prayers, and every so often I even read the
readings in front of the entire church. This was something constant in my life, a
routine that was like a habit; I couldn t stop. My parents have instilled in me that
this is something that could only be beneficial for me. However, it was inevitable
for me to wonder. I was handed my beliefs, and I took possession of it, whether I
liked it or not. I actually didn t get the proper opportunity to decide if it was what I
wanted to do. With not having much to do with it, I put my bad thoughts aside and

Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi And Ho Chi Minh
Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi and Ho Chi Minh are the leaders of national
independent movements from late 19th to early 20th century. Both of them defeated
the colonial rulers and won national independence. This paper will talk about the
influences of ideas and circumstances, the goals that they wanted to get and the
historical significance of their behaviors. It is very easy to find that these two leaders
living in two very different social and political circumstances. Gandhi s mother s

Ho Chi Minh did not like him. He thought his primary mission was fight for the
independence and unification of Vietnam, even can use any means to achieve the
national independence. Although he is a proletarian and upheld the Marxist
philosophy, the questions of moral or theory were weaker than nationalism. Gandhi
more like a moral teacher of his people and Ho Chi Minh more like a man who
devoted into anti colonialism and nationalism and used communist thoughts and
crafty organization as the methods to gained the national independence. The actions
of these two leaders had some dramatic historical significance. They were the personal
inspiration for people who wanted to get freedom from colonial ruling. Despite
Gandhi cannot achieve his own beliefs, he success finished India independence

healthy. I faces many day to day responsibilities that I must complete or remember
for work, and family life. I try my best to put my family first. There are daily tasks
of keeping in shape and cleanliness. This would include my daily tasks which are
laundry, washing dishes, sweeping, and cooking. There also must do tasks as well,
like paying bills, making sure the kids homework is completed and ready for bed.
There are also other important factors in my life. Spending time with my family is
one of my biggest priority. My kids have a music concerts that I love to attend, PTA

as helping with daily homework.
There are somethings that left out as a necessary part of my daily life: talking, just
talking. My kids are approaching their pre teen and teen years, and I cannot overstate
the essential nature of taking time just to spend with them.
Work comes next with its demands and deadlines. Of course, the first thing is getting

Militarized Policing
Military/Police: The Rise of Militarized Policing
Military/Police: The Rise of Militarized Policing
Introduction
The United States has long regarded with great suspicion efforts to use the military
as a tool of civilian law enforcement. In significant part, this attitude grew out of the
colonists experiences with the abuses of the British Army. These abuses included the
Boston Massacre of 1770, in which the British Army opened fire on colonists
protesting the use of the army to enforce civilian laws (Doherty, 2016). These
attitudes led to an effort during the early post Revolution period to separate military
and police powers (Doherty, 2016), as well as the Third Amendment with its specific
limitations on the military s authority over ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

This can provide benefits in the form of encouragement tacitly or explicitly
towards professionalism on the part of all police personnel, not just those
associated with the PPU. Although the term police professionalism has fallen into
some disfavor due to its association with a concept of the police as a cold and
distant force imposed against crime, the reality is that militarization does serve to
increase consistency of behavior across police forces as well as the imposition of
expectations of professional behavior (Hall Coyne, 2013). Additionally, PPUs may
serve an important morale boosting purpose for police forces, setting a high
standard for competence and ability and creating a goal to which line officers may
aspire (Breede, 2008). Finally, when it comes to civilian law enforcement, it is far
more desirable to layer a degree of military training, tactics, and equipment onto a
preexisting police mindset than to try to retrain a military mindset for civilian law
enforcement work (Breede,

Question 2. How would you describe Louis Gerstner s implementation style of IBM

people who can gain better understanding and critically analyze the situation and
able to develop strategies to match their competitors. As the CEO of IBM, first thing
Louis does was to perform a corporate appraisal of the company. Corporate appraisal
is a process where company review their entire organization to gain an understanding
of its readiness to interact successfully with the external environment in which it

There are five areas in corporate appraisal. There are categorized senior

Louis discovered that the cost were excessive, lose touch with the customers,
organization structure was too decentralized and bureaucratic and stayed with their

competitive market (Jain,S.C. et all, 2012). First of all, Louis realizes that the market

The Theme Of Romance And Romance In Romeo And Juliet
Romance and tragedy have captivated readers throughout the ages. These story
elements have gripped us, appealing to deep instincts and emotions. Romance
could be defined as a relationship between two lovers, in which a passionate
emotional attachment or involvement are there between both individuals.
Shakespeare s Romeo Juliet has been one of the major plays that explored love and
romance. Post modern novels, The Hunger Games written by Suzanne Collins bring
romance and love with an action packed plot. Collins s Hunger Games clearly drew
her ideas from Shakespeare s Romeo Juliet, since the Hunger Games showed a lot of
enduring themes in which Romeo Juliet has these kinds of themes. Shakespeare
himself borrowed themes from Greek tragedies and traditions (Schwartz). In fact

Obviously Romeo Juliet has the sense of romance throughout the story and such
occurrence really shows in parts where Romeo started to take notice on Juliet and
sudden commotion of feelings in both individuals propels the plot. Romance is
very common in this novel, for instance in the novel, Juliet would do anything to
be with Romeo again. I gave thee mine before thou dids request it, And yet I would
it were to given again (Shakespeare). These words that Juliet spoke shows how
indeed Juliet would do anything until she pledges her love even before Romeo
asked her. She wouldn t want to disappoint Romeo by not trying to marry Paris.
Paris also admires and loves Juliet; this really pushes the idea of love and romantic
relationships in the characters. The plot of this novel is really a romantic tragedy
since at the end both lovers died because they desperately wanted to be together,
however this would be impossible due to the feud. Basically the family feud is
responsible for the deaths of both Romeo and Juliet. Had there not been a family
feud, there would have been no need for Romeo and Juliet to hide their

Adense Program Essay
The adsense program is one of the most lucrative money making programs online.
It is also perhaps the simplest one to get involved in and make money quickly. This
is especially true if you already own a site that gets a fair bit of traffic. However,
while it is simple to get involved with it still requires a bit of understanding on your
part to maximize your revenue from it.
If you have been trying to make money with adsense then you will have undoubtedly
come across many different viewpoints on how to make it work. There are many
who believe that chasing high paying adsense clicks is the answer. In my experience,
high paying clicks are extremely difficult if not almost impossible to come across.
This is mainly due to the fact that there ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Blending your ads in with your site content is most likely the best way to improve
your adsense click through rate.
Make sure that the link color of your adsense ads is the same as the general link
color of your site. The text size of your ads should match as closely as possible the
text size of your content. Also make sure the color of the adsense description text is
the same as the color of your content text. An important point to note is that your
pages should be targeted towards a specific topic.
This is important because it will help to draw the most relevant ads. As long as your
topic has a fair number of advertisers then you should have no trouble getting
relevant ads. Remember that if your ads are irrelevant then they will not get clicked
on so check to make sure that you are getting relevant ads showing up on your site.
Removing borders from your ads can also have a positive effect since your ads blend
in better. Also use the maximum number of ads you are allowed to as long as you
have enough content on the page. Remember to never put adsense on pages that have
little or no content. When using the link units, make them blend in with the
navigational structure of your site. So if you have horizontal navigation then use the
horizontal link units, maybe slightly below or above your original navigation.
A good tip to keep in mind is that most ads that are banner sized tend to get ignored
and thus do not perform very well. So try to avoid the banner sized

still trying to suffocate him. Since he spends most of his time away from the house
he doesn t deal with his trigger often. He finds that he is attracted to his coworker
at register one. Hanna was her name, and she was as messed up as Gerald. Gerald
didn t know this though, he thought that he was the only one with a messed up past
because everyone knew it. In Hanna s mind she thought Gerald was too much of a
star to notice her. Then one day as they are prepping hotdogs for the concession
stand, Hanna makes her move to start talking to Gerald. They hit it off pretty
quickly, and within two weeks are dating. After Gerald s birthday he finds himself
with Tasha in charge of the house for the weekend. She throws a party which the
father didn t want to happen, then sets up Gerald to kiss the girlfriend of a boxing
rival he has. That started a major fight which prompted him to flee the state with
Hanna. In this frenzy escape Hanna tries to tell him that they will have to go back
eventually, but Gerald didn t want to hear any of it. He finally breaks down after a
couple of days on the lamb, to call his father and set his demands. His father listens
to the demands and concedes to finally move out with his son away from the two
crazy ladies in their lives, mother and daughter. In the end Gerald finally finds a way
to leave Gersday behind him with his
Essay on The Craftiness of Athena
Athena, the Greek goddess of both wisdom and war, is often considered the
craftiest of all Olympian gods. She was born of a headache, and erupted from Zeus
head fully armed and ready for battle. However, beside all this pomp, she is a rather
caring, if war loving, immortal. Throughout the entirety of The Odysseyshe conveys
an entirely platonic, almost motherly love for Odysseus. It is this that makes her
significant character in Homer s work. In The Odyssey, Athenais portrayed as a, if not
the, major female figure throughout the entire epic poem. With her affection for
Odysseus and her frequent appearances she plays a major role throughout the entire
poem. Evidence of this integral role will be presented as proof of her... Show more

She herself conveys this attachment in her actions done to protect him, such as the
time he was caught in the storm cause by the wrath of Poseidon. The rest of the
winds she stopped right in their tracks, commanding them all to hush now, go to
sleep. (164) She does not allow harm to come to him, but instead defies her own
uncle s authority to punish. And beyond even this, she appears to him in person to
greet him on his return to Ithica. It is here where not only does she guide him with
a plan, but she, a goddess, extols him. Here among mortal men you re far the best at
tactics, spinning yarns... (296) She considers him to be plenty worthy of her
assistance. This constant direction and saving help gives her a frequency of
appearance in The Odyssey, making her a character at the forefront of the story. Also,
it is her help that progresses the story. She is the one that plans for Odysseus attack
on the suitors, and she often gives the people he encounters thoughts to help him
along. She gives strength to Nausicaa, Only Alcinous daughter held fast, for Athena

the contest, The goddess Athena with her blazing eyes inspired Penelope... (424),
among many other occasions.
Odysseus himself recognizes that his journey would have been impossible if it
Rfid Toll Road Payment System Essay
CHEPTER 1
INTRODUCTION
RFID Toll Road Payment systems have really helped a lot in reducing the heavy
congestion caused in the metropolitan cities of today. It is one of the easiest methods
used to organize the heavy flow of traffic. When the car moves through the toll gate
on any road, it is indicated on the RFID reader that it has crossed the clearing. The
need for Humen based toll based systems is completely reduced in this methods and
the tolling system works through RFID. The system thus installed is quite reducing
the time and cost of travelers since the tag can be deciphered from a distance. User
and developer, instead the RFID tag carried by their vehicle does every thing. A
commuter traveling through this medium gets to know how much amount has been
paid and how much money is left in the tag. It does not require the person to carry
cash with him to pay the toll tax all the time. The long queue waiting for their turn is
reduced, which in turn reduces the consumption of fuel. The RFID toll payment
systems are really used in preventing trespassing on borders. The software solution
developed can ensure a smooth
Here Basic idea is to develop the automatic challan system that can check for signal
break by any vehicle. The RFID Reader reads the information like vehicles no. and
automatically send a report to the owner of vehicles and simultaneously an
information is given on the site itself through LCD.

Server Controlled Multicast Chat System
SERVER CONTROLLED MULTICAST CHAT SYSTEM
INTRODUCTION
An assumption that is intrinsic to a basic communication involves two parties, the
server and the client. Here, our design is based on a chat application which involves
one to many communication (i.e., with one server and multiple clients, in which the
server acts as the central system administrator and has got control over all other
clients who wish to join the network.
BRIEF OVERVIEW OF THE DESIGN: The Multicasting in java can be achieved
by using the sockets and thread concepts in the Java networking programming. We
consider two sockets, one in the server side that waits for the client messages on a
particular port and the other in the client side to receive messages from each ... Show

Once the user logs into the system with his/her credentials provided the server is
started intitially and is waiting for the clients, it starts storing all the actions
performed in a log called the Event log for the corresponding user session. It requires
the user to run the Client login program every time of a new user wants to connect.
The message sent by user hits the server first and the user makes it display on all
the screen of all other users who are online. This is the main focus of our design
and is implemented using the threading. Also, if a user logs off, all other users of
the group will be notified of it and the logged off users loses access over the
application. He has to login again to achieve a connection with the system once again.
SPECIAL ASSUMPTIONS: 1) A user who wishes to login can successfully login
with any name, provided the password is 12345 . The system is designed in such a
way for simplicity as this is not the main focus of our design.
2) Any multiple number of the users can login with the same username, because the
system treats them as different individuals as each and every client is referenced by a
unique id.
3) Once a user wishes to log off, he sends a Goodbye message and the server
disconnects him from the application and notifies to all other users currently
connected.
TESTING:
1) Our system works fine at both the circumstances, when the server
Persuasive Effect Of Advertising In Advertising
Advertisements play a highly important role in the United States consumerist
society, as Americans are exposed to ads in nearly every form of media. Each of
these ads target a different audience and have varying levels of persuasive effect.
Take for example an Audi commercial that was released in 2017, where clowns
drove around recklessly and created a dangerous environment for other drivers. In
this commercial, different safety features of the Audi cars caused the vehicles to
avoid crashes in spite of the dangerous driving around them. The content of this
advertisement helps to determine the target audience: wealthy American drivers. The
use of clowns within the commercial provided evidence that the ad primarily targeted
American consumers, as clowns were depicted as both a symbol of humor and fearor
danger. This media portrayal of clowns as a scary and dangerous symbol, along with
the common childhood fear of clowns, is mostly unique to American culture. As a
result, those from different countries or different cultural backgrounds would have
less understanding of this advertisement. The high price for purchasing a new Audi
vehicle also gave evidence that the advertisement was targeting wealthy consumers.
The persuasive effect that the advertisement has on this target audience is determined
by a number of message strategies used throughout the commercial. These strategies
included fear appeal, appeals to positive emotion, and storytelling, with each of these
strategies
The Poisonwood Bible Analysis
In Barbara Kingsolver s novel, The Poisonwood Bible, the reader enters the Congo
through the narration of the five females of the missionary Price family, who arrive
bearing Western ideals. Kingsolver portrays Western characters, such as the
Underdowns, Belgians who work with the missionaries, as meddlers. Kingsolver
identifies the social group of the Westerners at local level as the Prices, while also
on a larger political level too, commenting on the arrogance of the missionaries and
the Western governments who believe that they can imprint a superior type of
civilization onto the Congo. Kingsolver mainly uses the Price family s experience in
the village of Kilanga as a symbol of how the outside Western governments were
intruding into a different land. The Westerners social group contains aspects of
Western superiority, selfishness, and greed. It is shown through many of the white
characters such as Nathan Price, Eeben Axleroot, and the... Show more content on

Throughout the first half of the novel, Kingsolver uses Kilanga and the Westerners
group to represent as an allegory of the Congo and the Western countries. The author
foreshadows the consequences and rejection of the foreign intervention of the Congo,
using the Westerners, namely Nathan Price, in Kilanga. Kingsolver creates a
comparison using the large countries such as the United States and the Western
missionaries in the Congo, with the countries being the tenor, and the Westerners the
vehicle. The countries are as greedy and selfish as the missionaries, with the countries
placing the native Congolese to work in rubber plantations or diamond farms and the
missionaries using them as house servants. The countries share the same fault as the
missionaries, attempting to control the Congo by replacing its leader with a Mobutu, a

If the difference relies on how realistic the game is in its mechanics and play style, then Call of Duty might as well be called a combat simulator. Does a VR set such as the Oculus Rift along with the still in development rifle shaped controller and multi direction gaming treadmill automatically turn a game into a simulation? Perhaps every game is a low stakes simulation of its real life counterparts. Pit, then, is a non digital, non profit simulation of stock market trading...that is, of course, unless one started playing for money. Then, does the inclusion of money turn a game into a simulation, or even into work? These terms are debatable. What is clear is the driving factor behind why games are made beyond artistic expression, though not mutually exclusive of it, is the desire for profit. The gaming industry, much like the motion picture industry, is a business, driven by profit. Whether other companies design games for other uses to teach or to problem solve is outside the scope of what the industry (not so much the indie developers) prides itself on. King wants to make money for its product; that is common sense. Whether the company makes money on the front

And you never have to leave home to recharge! Electric cars are extremely simple. There s no oil to change, no filters, no clutch, no fluids, no crazy mechanical systems. This makes the electric car so much cheaper to operate because there s hardly any maintenance, like oil changes and emissions checks, that internal combustion cars require. Electric car cuts away our dependency on oil as well and frees us from the unpredictable oil price hikes and spikes that are so common these days. The Army of Northern Virginia was a collection of citizen soldiers from the various Confederate states, not a professional army of career soldiers. Southerners of the nineteenth century, and indeed most Americans at the time, held intensely local sympathies; loyalties to community and state were usually more important than conceptions of American patriotism. Grant perceived one strategic imperative: A focus on the enemy s armies through maneuver and offensive action. Lincoln agreed with Grant in this respect, but he also operated under a second strategic imperative. Faced with this opposition, Grant used dialogue and negotiation to get his essential point across where his predecessors had failed. Grant did this by employing integrative, or collaborative, bargaining, an approach that uses shared interests and cooperation to arrive at a satisfactory outcome. Grant and Lincoln agreed on the end result they desired, and they really did agree on the overall approach just not on the specific question of a line of operation. Grant was able to convince Lincoln of the soundness of his overall plan, and as a result, he got much of it implemented. Grant was at his best as a strategic leader because he

Sweatshops require many garment workers in order to function and many of those workers are immigrants or people who don t speak english as their first language. This labor abuse occuring within the sweatshops takes place with workers receiving under the $3.15 minimum wage and forcing workers to continue making clothing for more than seventy hours a week. Labor abuse even happens in sweatshops with children, teens, and adults. It s no wonder why people complain about their sweatshops to newspapers and conferences, the owners can beat raced people if they feel like it and the workers can not complain or they ll get beaten too. The owl tosses the animal a bit and swallows it head first. Unlike you and me, an owl does not take the time to chew his food. An owl swallows the food whole. It requires the user to run the Client login program every time of a new user wants to connect. The message sent by user hits the server first and the user makes it display on all the screen of all other users who are online. This is the main focus of our design and is implemented using the threading. Also, if a user logs off, all other users of the group will be notified of it and the logged off users loses access over the application. He has to login again to achieve a connection with the system once again. SPECIAL ASSUMPTIONS: 1) A user who wishes to login can successfully login with any name, provided the password is 12345 . The system is designed in such a way for simplicity as this is not the main focus of our design. 2) Any multiple number of the users can login with the same username, because the system treats them as different individuals as each and every client is referenced by a unique id. 3) Once a user wishes to log off, he sends a Goodbye message and the server disconnects him from the application and notifies to all other users currently connected. Persuasive Effect Of Advertising In Advertising Advertisements play a highly important role in the United States consumerist society, as Americans are exposed to ads in nearly every form of media. Each of these ads target a different audience and have varying levels of persuasive effect. Take for example an Audi commercial that was released in 2017, where clowns drove around recklessly and created a dangerous environment for other drivers. In this commercial, different safety features of the Audi cars caused the vehicles to avoid crashes in spite of the dangerous driving around them. The content of this advertisement helps to determine the target audience: wealthy American drivers. The use of clowns within the commercial provided evidence that the ad primarily targeted American consumers, as clowns were depicted as both a symbol of humor and fearor danger. This media portrayal of clowns as a scary and dangerous symbol, along with the common childhood fear of clowns, is mostly unique to American culture. As a result, those from different countries or different cultural backgrounds would have less understanding of this advertisement. The high price for purchasing a new Audi vehicle also gave evidence that the advertisement was targeting wealthy consumers. The persuasive effect that the advertisement has on this target audience is determined by a number of message strategies used throughout the commercial. These strategies included fear appeal, appeals to positive emotion, and storytelling, with each of these strategies

Kingsolver mainly uses the Price family s experience in the village of Kilanga as a symbol of how the outside Western governments were intruding into a different land. The Westerners social group contains aspects of Western superiority, selfishness, and greed. It is shown through many of the white characters such as Nathan Price, Eeben Axleroot, and the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Throughout the first half of the novel, Kingsolver uses Kilanga and the Westerners group to represent as an allegory of the Congo and the Western countries. The author foreshadows the consequences and rejection of the foreign intervention of the Congo, using the Westerners, namely Nathan Price, in Kilanga. Kingsolver creates a comparison using the large countries such as the United States and the Western missionaries in the Congo, with the countries being the tenor, and the Westerners the vehicle. The countries are as greedy and selfish as the missionaries, with the countries placing the native Congolese to work in rubber plantations or diamond farms and the missionaries using them as house servants. The countries share the same fault as the missionaries, attempting to control the Congo by replacing its leader with a Mobutu, a
