Jesse Greene s Articles on the Issues Around Same Sex...
For the past three years, Jesse Greene, journalist for the New York Magazine, has been focused
on the insight of the relationships and lives of people in the
L(esbian)G(ay)B(isexual)T(ransgender) community. In the article, From I do to I m done , he
writes about a gay couple, Kevin Muir and Sam Ritchie, who have been together since 1997.
They have been in a relationship much like a normal couple would, they lived with each other,
they had shared real estate, credit cards, etc. Jesse describes them as having a happy and healthy
relationship after they got married on May 8th, 2004. Going into their marriage, the desire for
children became more serious and they began to look into adoption. Jesse describes their journey

When he began his studies of identity and sexuality on young children, he worked with expert

Through his help, he was able to find families dealing with a child going through this condition at
a young age. Going into is study, he had a stereotypical view of transgender, gay and lesbian

Organizational Development Heralds From The Industrial Era...
In the midst of one of our many design sessions, a member of the team expresses how he s feeling
the sense that he s in this alone , that he doesn t feel any support from the team. With that a stark
shift is felt in the room, both in the way the conversation and the concept under scrutiny is being
approached by everyone at the table away from pure analytical reductionism towards an
appreciative approach of discovering the possibility beyond the potential issues, the basis for
innovationin all respects. His personal experience awoke us to good practice.
(Petousis, Journal 4, 12 May 2015)
Organisational development heralds from the industrial era, and was primarily focussed on
efficiency in working roles, as well as the effective communications for the supply chain to
function smoothly (Beckhard, 1969; Garrow, 2009). In that landscape the realms of personal life
and personal experience were determined as mere distractions from the work at hand. What is
being alluded to in the above excerpt (which is explained further below) is the power of subjective
experience in the modern context of organisations. In the modern context the simplicity of the
industrial era s inputs and outputs, the role based formulas for successful operations are commonly
challenged (Martins Terblanche, 2003; Nadler Tushman, 1999; W. O. Nilsson, 2009). This is
especially true in a creative economy, where innovation is in the limelight, and new models are
being called for to overcome the inefficient

Frederick Jackson Turner Significance Of The Frontier Thesis
Frederick Jackson Turner s The Significance of the Frontier is, in his eyes, an accurate depiction
of America s development since the Colonial Period. However, Turner s Frontier Thesis fails to
discuss the involvement of two very specific groups of people, groups that certainly had too much
of an effect on the progression of the country for him to safely leave out. Native Americans have a
pivotal role in America s history, yet Turner s mentions of them in his thesis are extremely limited.
For this reason, Frederick Jackson Turners The Significance of the Frontier is not an accurate
depiction of the history of the United States. Unlike the image that Turner represents in his Frontier
Thesis, Native Americans played a large role in the formation of America s history. Turner
continuously undermines their presence, referring to them mostly in passing and never giving their
race much credit. When discussing the presence of different animals and people on the frontier, he
ranks them only one step above animals, saying watch the procession of civilization marching
single file the buffalo following the trail to the salt springs, the Indian, the fur trader and hunter, the
cattle raiser, the pioneer farmer and the frontier has passed by. In saying this, Turner is conveying
the imagery that Indians are altogether their own species, not quite animals but neither human
enough to be included in what he would consider the presence of man. Murphy s book Great Lakes

Cache Valley Settlement
Throughout Cache Valley s early history one learns about the exploration and settlement of Cache
Valley and understands the developing and settling of Cache Valley s towns. While studying the
history of Cache Valley, many accounts report the settling of different towns such as Wellsville,
Logan, and Richmond. These early pioneer towns in Cache Valley, while each crucial to the growth
and development of the valley, grew not only for similar purposes but each had a different
contribution to Cache Valley s growth and development. The town of Franklin, however, next to the
UtahIdaho border in Cache Valley, aided in the settlement of both Cache Valley and the territory of
Idaho. Throughout the early settlement and founding of Franklin, Idaho this... Show more content

These early years of Franklin were a model of how Mormon and Cache Valley settlements
developed both in the ways in which land became divided, and how city lots measured out to
(approximately 1 Вј acres) accommodate a garden, barn, and outbuildings. While recollecting the
simple life of Franklin s early years, Joshua Hawkes said that the prospect appeared good...our
house was but a log one and not that very stylish. I put in a small crop of wheat and had some
volunteers which made us an ample amount for the season. In the center of the fort stood a
bowery where formal worship services and council meetings took place as well as a community
well, and corral to conceal cattle from night time Indian raids and attacks from wild animals.
Besides these, every man also had a cane lot east of town, on which he raised sugar cane, along
with hay lands lying south and west of town, near the cemetery. Broom corn was also later grown
east of town, in which the corn and stalks were turned into homemade brooms. Early settlers such
as Everett C. Van Orden, became attracted to pasture lands west of Franklin. Later with the
Homestead Law being placed in Lewiston, and in 1869 a land office being established in Salt Lake
City it made it possible for others to occupy land legally with a five year residence required for
ownership. As a result of the Homestead Law and Franklin s available land, families such as the

The Status Of Women In Society
The status of women in a society is a significant reflection of the level of social justice in that
society. In the literature, women s status is commonly described in terms of their education,
income, employment, health, fertility, etc. somewhere it has shown thattheir roles within family,
community and society also. But if we are talking about tribal communities, the role playing by
women is crucial and substantial. According to the Oxford dictionary a tribe is a group of
people in a primitive or barbarous stage of development acknowledging the authority of a chief
and usually regarding themselves as having a common ancestor . Tribalare assumed the original
dwellers of this subcontinents and residing since unrecorded time. India is the second largest
country in the world in terms of high concentration of indigenous Tribal population which is just
after the African continent. Women play a crucial role in this communitybut yet their conditions
are pitiable. Empowerment is an active process enabling women to realize their full identity and
power in all spheres of life (Gnanadhas Mahalekshmi, 2011). Empowerment is a process that
takes a person from a position of powerless inaction to responsible action. The process moves
through several stages from a) participation to b) decision making to c) action and, ultimately to d)
the capacity to take responsibility for those actions. Empowerment is a complex concept and it is
interpreted in many ways. It comes from the term

Photosynthesis Is The Conversion Of Light Energy Essay
Photosynthesis is the conversion of light energy to chemical energy. There are many different
factors that can affect the rate of photosynthesis, those being light intensity, the temperature of the
water, the amount of carbon dioxide in the water, and the color of the light. In this experiment we
chose to alter the colorof lightthat was used in the process involving the aquatic plant Elodea while
maintaining the other 3 factors. This experiment was conducted to see how much of an effect the
color of the light played in the amount of carbon dioxideproduced in the process of photosynthesis.
We measured the amount of NaOH that was needed to color the water pink and then converted the
net difference of drops into the net volume of carbon dioxide that was produced or consumed. The
results showed that there was not a significant difference in the amount of carbon dioxide produced
when using a standard regular colored light bulb compared to a green light bulb.
Introduction
Elodea, an aquatic plant, is very commonly used in classrooms around the world to help teach the
process of photosynthesis (Berkeley 2015). Photosynthesis is the conversion of light energy to
chemical energy. The process of photosynthesis occurs in the chloroplast of the plants. Inside the
chloroplast is chlorophyll, which is what absorbs the light energy from the sunlight. Light intensity,
the temperature of the water, the amount of carbon dioxide in the water, and the color of light used
are four factors

F. Scott Fitzgerald s The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button
SГёren Kierkegaard, a Danish philosopher once said, Life must be lived forward, but can only
be understood backwards (Quotes, 2008). This quote seemed fitting to Benjamin Button with
him aging backwards and having to grow up in a world where here is growing young. The
Curious Case of Benjamin Button is a short story written by F. Scott Fitzgerald, the story was
first published in Colliers Magazine in May of 1922. Following that, the screenplay was made, by
Eric Roth. The screenplay was loosely based on the the short story. They both do not have too
many similarities besides the two aging backwards. However, with the movie being loosely based
upon the short story, there were more differences, including their families and their children.
Primarily, the similarity between the short story and the movie is that Literary Benjamin and
Movie Benjamin both age backwards. In the beginning of the short story Literary Benjamin s

on his son s part to think that Benjamin, as he moped about the house in adolescent moodiness,
was somewhat in the way (Fitzgerald, 1922, p. 24). While, Roscoe was never a fan of Benjamin
Button VS Caroline didn t learn about Benjamin until Daisy was dying (Short Story VS Film, 2013).
In conclusion, the short story, written by F. Scott Fitzgerald and the screenplay made by Eric Roth,
did not share too many similarities. The differences, however, were quite interesting. The way Eric

Define Drug Trafficking
Assignment #6
Discuss the production and trafficking of drugs i.e., heroin, cocaine, and crack, and how the
trafficking relates to the criminal enterprise. Discuss the criminal justice systems role in the fight
against drugs.
Cocaine, crack, and heroin are three of the most abused illegal drugs in the United States. There
are some forms of cocaine that are used for medicinal purposes. Cocaine is shipped from South
America by drug cartels, mainly from Peru, Bolivia and Colombia. Drug cartels (coalitions or
agreements between parties intended to further a mutual interest). Drug cartels handle the
trafficking of the drug to one of its biggest customers, the United States.
Heroin is an opioid drug that is manufactured from morphine. The heroin is extracted from the
Asian opium poppy plant. It is believed that 24 percent of people who use heroin become addicted
(dependency on a substance) and they cannot stop using it without adverse affects either
psychologically or physiologically.
Crack, or rock is more addictive than powder cocaine and heroin. Robin Haslam (2013), Director
of Operations and Procedures for Addiction Canada, said that he has never seen someone who can
just smoke crack casually. Heroin, like cocaine is produced from the resin (a sticky substance
oozed by the Asian poppy plant).

Gold IRA Research Paper
Throughout history there s been an incredible interest associated with the investment of gold. It
s no surprise that this special type of the retirement plan is attracting investors with an interest in
precious metals and a desire to put gold into an investment fund. The first step is to speak with a
qualified professional to answer questions and assist in setting up the account to meet the
requirements as an IRA. History tells the story of precious metals with gold increasing in value
over and over. In today s economy like all other commodities, the price of gold fluctuates but,
typically holds its value through economic conditions, making it a commodity that can be
liquidated if needed. Before deciding to invest, it s critical to learn about the process. Gold IRA is

Acetaminophen
Acetaminophen (AAP) which broadly used as an antipyretic and analgesic drug is one reason for
hepatotoxicity in humans and experimental animals at high doses(32). The toxic metabolite of APP
that produced in liver by the cytochrome P450 pathway is named NAPQI(6) that conjugated with
glutathione for excretion in the urine. The AAP overdose cause to glutathione depletion that leads
to NAPQI accumulation and mitochondrial dysfunction(33). Glutathione depletion promotes the
tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNFО±) that leads to production of oxygen free radicals from NADPH
oxidase and hepatotoxicity finally(34). The AAP is a potential trigger of cytochrome P450 that
induced the high reactive quinone imine production. This matches with sulphahydryl groups in
proteins and result in rapid depletion to intracellular glutathione(35). Generally, one parts of the
potential intracellular antioxidant defensive system is glutathione that consumes the singlet
oxygen, superoxide and hydroxyl radicals(36). Enhancing of intracellular flux of oxygen free
radicals results from glutathione depletion leads to oxidative stress in hepatocytes(36). The
increasing the serum levels of GOT, GPT and ALP have been attributed to the structural integrity

Abstract
In this tax season, when billions of dollars and tons of personal information is relayed to and from

The purpose of my study is to improve the safeguard of taxpayers data at the Internal Revenue

MEMPHIS An Internal Revenue Service employee in Memphis has been indicted on charges of
filing false tax returns and stealing data from the agency. The U.S. attorney s office said in a

dependent information from IRS files and used the data on tax returns she prepared, knowing that
the taxpayers were not entitled to claim these dependents. This allegedly occurred for a year

Similarities Between Courtly Love And Chivalry
Throughout the medieval era there are two ideas that help identify the style and theme of writing
poets and authors wrote in. One idea used is courtly love. Courtly love is on overpowering,
overwhelming, and outgoing love that a woman has for her suitor. Many times this never ending
loves causes either the lady of man to do unexplainable actions. On the other than chivalry is
another idea did played a big part in influencing the writings throughout this era. .Chivalry is any
behavior that fall under the knightly conduct code. Examples of this are caring, kind, being a
gentleman, loyal, truthful, and faithful. These actions are found in the knights conduct code
because they were behavioral traits usually found amongst knights.
Though different both courtly love and chivalry are related. Chivalry is one of many manners due
to courtly love. Both of themes are crucial in forming themes and plots in medieval stories and
ballads. The ideas of chivalry and courtly love are important because they help form, teach a lesson,
and get the authors point across in medieval writings.
To begin the idea of both chivalry and courtly love can be used together to prove a point in a
medieval story. They are both used to keep the plot going and they can both b used to get a

Tristan to be chivalrous. If it were not for the love between the two he would not have acted out of

The cognitive explanation acknowledges the role of biological factors in schizophrenia, suggesting
that the basis of the condition is abnormal brain activity producing visual and auditory
hallucinations. Further features of the disorder emerge as people try to make sense of the
hallucinations.
When schizophrenics first experience voices and other worrying sensory experiences, they turn to
others to confirm the validity of what they are experiencing. Other people fail to confirm the reality
of these experiences, so the schizophrenic comes to believe that others must be hiding the truth.

The intention is to show schizophrenics that their hallucinations are not real. As yet, however, there
is no evidence that this will provide a successful treatment.
The research by Brown and Birley was a retrospective study where data is collected after events
have occurred. In other words, once a person had developed schizophrenia they were asked about
events leading up to the onset. It is quite likely that recall would be negatively affected by the
events surrounding the onset of schizophrenia so such evidence may be unreliable.
Prospective studies are preferable, where people are studied after the onset of the disorder. Hirsch
et al followed 71 schizophrenic patients over a 48 week period. It was clear that life events made a
significant cumulative (increasing) contribution in the 12 months preceding relapse rather than
immediately prior to the schizophrenic episode. This does support the retrospective research.
However, not all research supports the importance of life stressors. For example, Van Os et al
reported no link between life events and the onset of schizophrenia. In the prospective part of the
study, patients who had experienced a major life event went on to have a lower incidence of
relapse rather than an increased risk as predicted.
One criticism of this research is that it is correlational. Therefore, we cannot infer a causal

Social Relations And Gender Roles
Every one of us have been influenced in one way or another by social relations to gender roles. All
human cultures have various expectations regarding the male or female gender. There are many
standards that dictate how individuals should dress, think, behave, and interact with the world
around them. It is when these roles begin to reduce the life chances of individuals and preserve
inequalitythat becomes problematic. Humans, as a society, crafted their own definitions of what it
means to be a man or a woman. Because of this if a female partakes in a masculine activity it is
often met with disgust and hostility and if a male partakes in a feminine activity it is scorned by
men and women alike. Gendernorms have existed throughout... Show more content on

If she is African American, it is sixty four cents for every dollar earned by a man and fifty four
cents if she is Latina. Throughout a lifetime, a typical woman loses about $700,000 just because
she is paid less than a man. (now national, 2017) No one should be discriminated against in the
workplace because of his or her own gender. It is shocking that even fifty three years later
women are still having this fight for equal pay. Equal pay means economic growth for the
nation. If women were making more, the additional money flowing towards food, clothing,
household items and services this would expand the economy by at least three or four
percentages. This would also strengthen the middle class as well. If women were to be paid a
fair share, more families can join the middle class and have a chance at economic security.
Women can hold the responsibility that jobs require. Some women acquired their degree,
attended a university or college and became an expert in their career and performs the job just as
well, if not better, than a male, then they absolutely should be paid equal salaries. Women who
work full time earn seventy seven percent of what a male earns. Why should women have to
work an extra sixty days (three months) to earn what the man did by the end of his previous
year? This is highly degrading of the morals of women all over America and the world. This
sends a message saying that no matter how hard you can work as a female you will never equal

Harriet Jacobs Incidents In The Life Of A Slave Girl
The impact of Gender in the Incidents in the Life of a Slave Girl
The autobiography , Incidents in the Life of a Slave girl, was written by Harriet Ann Jacobs
under the pseudonym name Linda Brendt. This book details the life of slavery and how Jacobs
achieved freedom for her children and for herself. Jacobs detailed these painful, and intricate
accounts through forty one chapters. Harriet Jacobs unfortunate experiences as a slave were
significantly shaped because of her gender. Jacobs did indeed endure struggles through her race,
but her gender is of great significance during her time as a slave. Jacobs used herself as an
example to show how enslaved women were manipulated by their masters, the difficulties of being a
mother during slavery mother, and how the fight for freedom were all impacted by her gender.
Once Jacobs original mistress passed away, she was sold to a manipulative and lustful master.
Forty years her senior, Dr. Flint, began to manipulate her at the age of fifteen But I now entered
on my fifteenth year a sad epoch in the life of a slave girl. My master began to whisper foul
words in my ear (chapter V). The manipulation not only troubled her, but her mistress became
jealous and full of hatred over fourteen year old Jacobs. This caused tension between the
mistress, Dr. Flint and Jacobs. Jacobs directed to the audience that beauty is an asset to those
who are not slaves, but an immense disadvantage to slaves. Jacobs understood that she is able to
induce the jealousy and anger of Mrs. Flint, She will be compelled to realize that she is no longer
a child. If God has bestowed beauty upon her, it will prove her greatest curse. That which
commands admiration in the white woman only hastens the degradation of the female slave
(chapter V). Although, Mrs. Flint was aware of the manipulation, Mrs.Flint could not control her
husband s behavior towards Jacobs. Thus, leading Mrs. Flint to take her jealousy and rage onto
Jacobs. Even though Mrs.Flint understood that Jacobs was not in control of the situation, Mr. Flint
was. I was an object of her jealousy, and, consequently, of her hatred; and I knew I could not expect
kindness or confidence from her under the circumstances in which I

The Censorship Of Media During Emergency Era
The media is considered as fourth estate of any democratic society. We take pride as being the
largest democracy in the world. Apart for the fact that we have elected form of government, it is the
written constitution which makes us a powerful democracy. The same constitution provides for
freedom of speech and expression in its Article 19. This constitutionally guaranteed freedom is the
reason behind thriving media in our country, which has earned reputation as being one of the most
fearless and influential institution in the world.
After Independence, we used to have Doordarshan and All India Radio as source of news along
with some independent newspapers. There were foreign broadcasters too but its reach was very
limited to common masses. Most of these instruments were considered as instruments of either
ideology or political party and there was no independent source of information. The censorship of
media during emergency era shows that how a dictatorial government can be afraid of this forth
estate and can go to any extent to curb its freedom. The era of economic reforms post 1991 saw
the boost of both private print as well as audio visual media.
An independent foreign observer might be surprised to see that what role does the media plays in
our society. The people consider information fed to them by the media as gospel truth. The
politicians, bureaucrats and elites are so afraid of media, that whenever something wrong on part of
government is shown to the people, the

How Did Erasmus Influence The Church
Desiderius Erasmus was born in Holland in 1466. Margaret, his mother, was the daughter of a
physician and his father Roger was a priest. He was given a semi monastic teaching and at a
young age, his father sent him to a Latin grammar school. Erasmus had little time with his
parents due to the plague that killed them both in 1483. After his parents died, the guardians
with whom Erasmus was being cared by were persistent about him becoming a monk. In 1492,
Erasmus took the holy vows of monks at the canonry of Stein in Holland. He was soon ordained
a priest and poverty was a big factor in his decision to enter the monastery. In the adult years of his
life, Erasmus was a traditional scholar who studied and resided in France, England, and Italy. 1516
was a major year for Erasmus. He prepared to release copies of the New Testament in Latin and
Greek versions. By translating the New Testament into Greek and Latin, it presented a new
reasonable and logical idea of the Christian doctrine. This raised questions that would later on
impact the Reformation greatly. Erasmus used the theoretical methods invented by Italian
humanists to help his understanding and to help others further understand the New Testament and
the Church. His ideas and discoveries set the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Causes Of Lisa And American Anti-Intellectualism
When I was five, I tried to expose the fraud of Santa Claus to my kindergarten class. The teacher
asked us to say what we had asked him for for Christmas and I responded by saying, Nothing! He
s not real! When my peers questioned me on how I knew this, I informed them it was simply not
possible for a single man to fly around the world in one night. I had looked into it, I knew how
many hours were in a night, and there was simply no way. Despite my in depth research, my
classmates dismissed my conclusion, attributing the impossible feat to magic . They were mad I
had tried to lie to them and I was mad I was surrounded by narrow minded, santa loving idiots.
Luckily, we were able to move past the disagreement and were all best friends again by lunch.
The underlying problem, however, my classmates inability to accept the evidence, has not gone
away. In his paper Lisa and American Anti Intellectualism , psychology professor Dr. Aeon J.
Skoble explains, the United States has always had a love hate relationship with intellectuals. While
professors and scientists garner a certain level of respect in this country, there is also a significant
amount of contempt held for those who reside in the ivory tower of academia, presumably away
from the practicalities of real life. This shows a disturbing trend of anti intellectualism, or the
opposition to intellectualpursuits and works providing progressive and rational thought. The rise of

Compare the presentation of villains in Macbeth and a selection of poetry from the studied

This essay will explore the presentation of villains and heroes in Macbeth a range of poems. I
have found the definition of a villain as a collective is a vastly broad category which is fuelled by
other motives and driven by want, passion and mostly selfish intentions. Some villains may not be
as obviously portrayed as we expect however they have strong villainous motives and having a
running theme of psychotic thoughts throughout their selves. I have also found out that typically

Manipulation is key in the play, clearly driving to bad intentions because of Macbeth s curiosity.
Lady Macbeth drives Macbeth on a personal level, questioning him and his manhood Bring forth

considering to not kill Duncan, which shows desperation alongside annoyance with Macbeth trying
to hold onto his morals. Macbeth is a tragic war hero, and using his manhood against him would be
a meticulous and personal weakness for him. Using emotive language towards Macbeth would
trigger a sentential side of him, not wanting to embarrass his pride by refusing; Lady Macbeth
conveys a need for murdering King Duncan, showing emotion and unsettlement when Macbeth
questions her, needing control of the situation. The immediacy of alarm with Lady Macbeth could
also raise questions if she is a typical villain, feeling and having a subconscious emotive technique.
Shakespeare shows manipulation as a tool of strength to Lady Macbeth and the Witches. She is
shown to have no subconscious morally correct thought and this is shown throughout, the first time
the audience meets her in the play, she automatically commutates the villainous vibe as well as the

Peter Pan And Anne Of Green Gables Comparison
In today s society, there is a persistent belief that children and adults are fundamentally different.
Society has placed a gap between these generations that is evident throughout movies and
children s literature. In J.M. Barrie s Peter Pan and L.M. Montgomery s Anne of Green Gables,
binary oppositions come into play regarding childhood and adulthood, specifically the difference
in imagination and reality. This binary opposition is expressed greatly among the characters in
both novels. The children were introduced as possessing a wide range of imagination, however
as the novel progressed, as do their age, their imagination gradually diminished to a more
realistic view of life. The adults are focused on the reality of life, so much so, that they do not
have any room for imagination. These adults always conform to social standards in which they
live a basic life from work to home and back. They don t have any time to ponder their imagination

One Hundred Years Of Solitude By Gabriel Garcia Marquez,...
With 220,000 dead in Colombia and one million in both Mexico and Nigeria, the impact of civil
wars still pierces the literature in these countries (Roser and Nagdy). However, the works that grew
out of the bloodstained soil in these countries differs from literature written after a civil war in
other parts of the world. Unlike most countries, culture in Colombia, Mexico, and Nigeriais still rich
with superstition and mythological themes that bleed into the works of the authors that live there.
Because of this, authors in these countries often write in the genre of magical realism, which
combines aspects of fantasy and reality in writing, as noted by Thomas Alwa Edison in the
International Journal of Multidisciplinary Approach and Studies. In One Hundred Years of
Solitude by Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Like Water for Chocolate by Laura Esquivel, and The

Essay On The Potato Eaters By Van Gogh
The Potato Eaters is a naturalistic oil painting by the reputable Dutch artist Vincent van Gogh, in
the collection of the Van Gogh Museum, Amsterdam. The painting was completed in 1885 and
as is widely considered as Van Gogh s first masterpiece as the artist himself has regarded it as his
most successful painting. A horizontal composition about 82cm x 114cm, the painting depicts a
family of peasants, four woman and a man around a square table having potatoes for supper.
Somber and earthly tones are used for the painting to emphasize the humble and low life of
peasants. At first glance, the viewer will be drawn to look at the skillfully highlighted faces of the
peasants, lit by an oil lamp at the center of the painting. The lamp serves as the only light source in
the dark, cramped space of the cottage. The way the rays of light illuminate the room brings a
feeling of hope and warmth to the cold dark atmosphere that surrounds the peasants representing the
harsh reality faced by them in the outside world. Large, protruded features and scrawny hands

United States Government Policy Analysis

Our nation is currently over 18 trillion dollars in debt and this number continues to grow everyday.
Social programs are leading our nation s people under a constraining weight of debt and forced

enslaving them. Adam Smith, an eighteenth century Scottish moral philosopher said the ideal
functions of the government are few and well defined. (Lipford, Slice, 2007) Smith named three
important functions, national defense, administration of justice, and the provision of public

them a big priority. They would all want to look perfect like super models or actresses. For example
in Cosmopolitan Magazine there is an ad for the famous actress Halle Berry s perfume Closer: The
New Scent of Attraction for Her . Halle Berry is the main focus on the ad; she is wearing a white
button up shirt, sleeves rolled up to her elbows, completely unbuttoned, somewhat open where her
bra is visible. She also has a black tie around her neck and what looks to be a shirtless man holding
her by her waist. While on the bottom right corner is the perfume bottle.
The ones selling this product obviously want to grab your attention by Halle Berry being
practically the main focus. People viewing this advertisement will only be focusing on the
attraction of the image, how they would love to look like her and by buying the product it might

Compare And Contrast Rome And Grecians
Religion and government played an important role in lives of Grecians and Romans during
ancient times. Both nations were polytheistic and militaristic, however only Rome switched to
Christianity, broke up, (rather than collapsed), after national conflict and was centralized. Both
Grecians and Romans were polytheistic. Because Greece and Rome were two of the earliest
civilizations, the ignorance of this earlier time prevailed. People were unsure of why certain
events could occur, (like the rising and setting of a sun), and set out to delegate a position and
meaning for all of the Gods they dreamed up. Failure to appease these Gods would result in
punishment. For example the sun wouldn t rise or the crops would die. Sacrifices were often given

In 1983, Kanter has described this process as different building blocks where effective
organizational changes are present. The traditional processes can be replaced with the modern
strategic decisions. When the entrepreneurs avoid the general ways of resolving a problem, then
the traditional activities of the lower level of the organization can be easily departed. A crisis
may sometimes create a sense of urgency in the employees mind and can force them to act
immediately. In case of TQM , the crisis can act as threat or various demands from the consumers
for improving the quality of the services. The leaders may interfere in the strategies after a crisis
and can provide a new vision of the organization. The leader must act as the prime mover in

How Did Theodore Roosevelt Influence On Japan
Apart from the Japanese student, Roosevelt is influenced by his cousin, President Theodore
Roosevelt. Teddy Roosevelt is shown to be very sympathetic towards the Japanese but
considered the Japanese unable assimilate, and this was noticed by Roosevelt. Social Darwinism
was the influencing thought during Roosevelt s youth as a factor in how Roosevelt would view

Anthony Martial Research Paper
Anthony Martial a French soccer player who plays for my favorite team Manchester United. He
is my role model because I admire where he came from and where he is today. He was once
grown in the slums, without a father to help him become a man or a good person in life. He
grew up being the oldest in his family having to take care of his three younger brothers. Even
though life had its difficult moments he would not allow it distract him from school or soccer.
Now he is one of the top five best young players in Europe. Anthony Martial is my favorite

determination he showed through different stages of his life. He proved to me that anyone can
accomplish their dreams as long as they have the passion, courage and braveness to pursue their

Hitchhiker s Guide To The Galaxy Quote Analysis
My favorite quote comes from Douglass Adam s A Hitchhiker s Guide to the Galaxy and goes
as follows: don t panic. It is a rather short quote and lacks a that special gravitas found in
memorable quotes from famous historical figures, but it has served me better than any other
piece of advice. I interpret it as a reference to the brevity of life and the tendency of mankind to
blow things out of proportion; basically, life is short so try not to waste it by excessively
worrying about things that are not important. To paraphrase another quote from the same book, I
would rather be happy than right. At the end of your life you will remember all of the good times
that you had with your loved ones rather than all of the little trivialities that seemed

Essay on Comparing My Twin Cousins
Comparing My Twin Cousins
For years I have been fascinated by that mysterious quirk of nature called twins. In my family,
there are several sets of identical twins, and I have always concentrated on their similarities. I did
not realize that identical twins also have many differences. My identical twin cousins, Sue and
Heidi, appear to be perfect mirror images. They love to dress alike. They can feel each other s
pain. They sound alike and can complete each other s sentences. But upon taking a closer look, I
have found that they are as different as day and night. Aside from Sue and Heidi s outward
characteristics, they possess several distinguishing traits that allow them to be viewed as two

Her grades positively reflect her efforts.
Sue and Heidi also possess very dissimiliar personalities. Sue is a free spirit; she is wild and
crazy and thrives on adventure. One night at a football game, she was dared by some of her
peers to go onto the field and moon the opposition. Needless to say, she took the dare. She is
very talkative, a real chatterbox. Also, she is very quick tempered and impatient. For example,
the slightest thing, like a grocery store clerk s slowly checking out customers in the line she is
in, will cause her to become irrational. On the other hand, Heidi is extremely conservative. On
the same occasion that Sue was dared to moon the opposition on the football field, Heidi was
given the same dare but would not even consider taking part in such an immature prank. Heidi
does not talk much; she is very shy. She is known as the level headed and laid back twin.
Sue and Heidi s personal interests and goals further reflect their individual styles and tastes. Sue
is very creative. She is a talented, self taught artist. She can draw practically anything she has
seen. Sue is also a very good athlete. She plays tennis in her leisure time, and she is on her school
s basketball and track teams. She has great endurance. She can run miles without easily tiring and
can play several consecutive games of tennis or basketball without breaking a

Essay On Alcoholics Anonymous
Alcoholics Anonymous an Open Meeting Dominique Steinburg describes mutual aid as a process
through which people develop collaborative, supportive, and trustworthy relationships; identify and
use existing strengths and/or to develop new ones; and work together toward individual and/or
collective psychosocial goals. (Steinburg, 2010)Alcoholics Anonymousis mutual aid group that
supports individuals in their recovery from alcohol dependence. Established in the mid 1930 s,
Alcoholics Anonymous was borne from the principals of self improvement and mutual aid
practiced by the Oxford Group. The Oxford Group was a popular religious movement in the
United States and Europe at that time. (AA)When Rowland H., a prominent Rhode Island
businessman and Yale graduate, relapsed into his alcoholism, the renowned psychoanalyst Carl
Jung, refused to provide any further treatment citing that Rowland had reached the end of what
psychology and medical science had to offer him. Carl Jung recommended that Rowland H. seek
spiritual guidance and referred him to the Oxford Group. (Blum, 2006) After experiencing
nothing short of a miraculous recovery, Rowland H., decided to act upon one of the principals
took the Oxford Group s message to a friend named Ebby Thatcher, who was struggling with
alcoholism and facing a prison sentence. Ebby desperate to avoid prison readily agreed to give it
a try. The pair convinced the judge to release him into the care and custody of Rowland H. After

Benefits Of Electronic Medical Records
There are many reasons why some health care organizations have been reluctant to use
electronic medical records. First let s talk about, what is an electronic medical record. An
(EMR) Electronic Medical Record consist of standard medical and clinical data gathered in the
provider s office which include a more in debt patient history. EHRs are created to hold and
distribute information from all providers dealing with patient care. EHR data can be created,
managed, and advised by authorized providers and staff from across more than one health care
organization. EHRs is another name for digital paper chart that hold all of the patient s medical
history from one practice. While expanding daily, electronic medical records are becoming
extremely popular. Research shows that some healthcare organizations continue to be reluctant to
purchase electronic record programs. The pressure on hospitals, clinics, systems, physicians and
other providers to get with the program is outstanding. Cost is a major concern for single
practitioners, which are least likely among physicians to adopt EHRs. EHR systems are not cheap
by any means. Physicians have to weigh the cost of not only creating, but supporting their own IT
structure and applications as well. The option to decide to use external vendors to provide the
services is given also. Consideration of cost include purchase price, coordination cost, monitoring
cost, and negotiating cost along with upgrade costs, and governance cost.

Is It Immoral To Watch The Superbowl By Steve Almond
Imagine watching a loved one s memory slowly fade away. Their cognitive abilities dwindle and
family members are forced to make tough medical decisions. I personally know about this
because my Uncle was officially diagnosed with dementia four years ago. Every day he becomes
more childlike and my Aunt is being forced to consider alternate care possibilities for him. She
even had to curtail their traveling, which was my Aunt and Uncle s favorite activity to do together.
Unfortunately, it s not just my family that has had to come to terms with a severe brain illness.
Even sadder, in many cases it is preventable. In Is It Immoral to Watch the Superbowl? by Steve
Almond, he suggests that chronic traumatic encephalopathy, or C.T.E., related illnesses, such as
dementia, and other football injuries are a main contributor as to why football is an unethical sport.
Almond argues that football fans are complicit in the multitude of inevitable injuries that take place
in the game and should consider halting their support. He often compares war and football,
attempting to connect the prominent violence in both activities. In addition to this, Almond uses
personal stories of harm caused during football games to further his point. He illustrates hard hits
on the field from well known players and a personal friend. Furthermore, Steve Almond uses bits
of irrefutable medical evidence to prove why watching the Super Bowl may is a negative thing. He
then takes all of his points and poses the

Research Paper On Herodotus
In this section, Herodotus begins by telling the story of how the slaves of Scythia had formed a
new generation with the Scythian women left behind while the Scythians dominated Asia.
Herodotus writes that upon return, the men went to war with the slaves, but stopped, saying when
they saw us armed, they naturally felt that they were as good as we are, and were meeting us on
equal terms; but when they see us coming with whips instead, the will remember they are slaves.
Once they admit that, they will never try to stand up to us (241). This passage reinforces the notion
thatsome people need or like to be enslaved. Herodotus then describes the land and the people that
are to the north and east, beyond the Tanais bordering Scythia. Herodotus... Show more content on

Anything not covered in the contract will be the basis for you to pay additional charges.
Additionally, you will experience legal fees to retain a lawyer to review the contacts you will sign.
Remember, this is the outsourcing company s business. They have done this before and they are the
ones that write the contract. Therefore, you will be at a disadvantage when negotiations start
(Bucki, 2012).
Threat to Security and Confidentiality
The life blood of any business is the information that keeps it running. If you have payroll, medical
records or any other confidential information that will be transmitted to the outsourcing company,
there is a risk that the confidentiality may be compromised. If the outsourced function involves
sharing proprietary company data or knowledge (e.g. product drawings, formulas, etc.), this must be
taken into account. Evaluate the outsourcing company carefully to make sure your data is protected
and the contract has a penalty clause if an incident occurs (Bucki, 2012).
Quality Problems
The outsourcing company will be motivated by profit. Since the contract will fix the price, the
only way for them to increase profit will be to decrease expenses. As long as they meet the
conditions of the contract, you will pay. In addition, you will lose the ability to rapidly respond to
changes in the business environment. The contract will be

Italian Immigration Policy Analysis
Italy
Italy s basic information which consists of its capital Rome, and the name of Italy s president is
Sergio Mattarella. Italy has a currency of euro, with its Gross domestic product being 2.149 trillion
USD in 2013. In addition to these facts Italy has themes that connect together, and to its historical
context. Specifically, I will focus on 3 current events that have happened in Italy that pertain to
immigration, which stems from broader themes like Italy s political system, and nationalist nature.
Through some journal articles I was able to find information that pertains to my current events on
Italy s immigration policies, and its historical context. Therefore, these themes make up Italy s
history and characteristics as a country.

According to sources, between 4.6 million (Caritas Migrantes 2011) and 5.4 million foreigners
were living in Italy at the end of 2010, including an estimated 400,000 irregular immigrants
(Fondazione ISMU 2012). In addition, when researching on the themes of these articles I can
focusing on Italy s immigration policy specifically in the fact that recently in the last decade, Italian
immigration policies have hardened, above all in the period 2008 2011, with the advent of a
securitarian discourse. Additionally, we learned that Italian policies have weakened social cohesion
by reproducing and reinforcing structural inequalities among immigrants. It was intriguing that,
many civil society organizations struggled against these policies. , which could show Italy s
vulnerability. It is also important to note that, Italian migration and citizenship policies tend to deny
the fact that immigration in Italy is now a structural phenomenon embedded in the labor market and
Italian society , ultimately affecting Italy s social structure. Likewise, through my research I found
that one author of my research articles, argues that this reluctance to accept the fact of immigration
is exacerbated by Italy s fragile national social cohesion, which has led to policy attempts to
buttress social cohesion with respect to immigrants relationship to Italian society. The Italian
version of social cohesion is based on an implicit model of immigrant integration and a citizenship
regime defined by jus

Fried Green Tomatoes At The Whistle Stop Cafe Summary
For this summer reading, I chose to read Fried Green Tomatoes at The Whistle Stop Cafe by
Fannie Flag. The book is set in Alabama; it is mostly set in the early 1900s to the late 1980s.
While in the early 1920s, this was the time of the Great Depression, a time where poverty and
racism were well known. The story is told in both present, from the 1920 s 1940 s, when the
events were occurring, and past tense, when Ninny Threadgoode retold the events to Evelyn Couch,
in the 1980 s. Fried Green Tomatoes at The Whistle Stop Cafebegins with The Weems Weekly

  • 3. Organizational Development Heralds From The Industrial Era... In the midst of one of our many design sessions, a member of the team expresses how he s feeling the sense that he s in this alone , that he doesn t feel any support from the team. With that a stark shift is felt in the room, both in the way the conversation and the concept under scrutiny is being approached by everyone at the table away from pure analytical reductionism towards an appreciative approach of discovering the possibility beyond the potential issues, the basis for innovationin all respects. His personal experience awoke us to good practice. (Petousis, Journal 4, 12 May 2015) Organisational development heralds from the industrial era, and was primarily focussed on efficiency in working roles, as well as the effective communications for the supply chain to function smoothly (Beckhard, 1969; Garrow, 2009). In that landscape the realms of personal life and personal experience were determined as mere distractions from the work at hand. What is being alluded to in the above excerpt (which is explained further below) is the power of subjective experience in the modern context of organisations. In the modern context the simplicity of the industrial era s inputs and outputs, the role based formulas for successful operations are commonly challenged (Martins Terblanche, 2003; Nadler Tushman, 1999; W. O. Nilsson, 2009). This is especially true in a creative economy, where innovation is in the limelight, and new models are being called for to overcome the inefficient ... • 4. Frederick Jackson Turner Significance Of The Frontier Thesis Frederick Jackson Turner s The Significance of the Frontier is, in his eyes, an accurate depiction of America s development since the Colonial Period. However, Turner s Frontier Thesis fails to discuss the involvement of two very specific groups of people, groups that certainly had too much of an effect on the progression of the country for him to safely leave out. Native Americans have a pivotal role in America s history, yet Turner s mentions of them in his thesis are extremely limited. For this reason, Frederick Jackson Turners The Significance of the Frontier is not an accurate depiction of the history of the United States. Unlike the image that Turner represents in his Frontier Thesis, Native Americans played a large role in the formation of America s history. Turner continuously undermines their presence, referring to them mostly in passing and never giving their race much credit. When discussing the presence of different animals and people on the frontier, he ranks them only one step above animals, saying watch the procession of civilization marching single file the buffalo following the trail to the salt springs, the Indian, the fur trader and hunter, the cattle raiser, the pioneer farmer and the frontier has passed by. In saying this, Turner is conveying the imagery that Indians are altogether their own species, not quite animals but neither human enough to be included in what he would consider the presence of man. Cache Valley Settlement Throughout Cache Valley s early history one learns about the exploration and settlement of Cache Valley and understands the developing and settling of Cache Valley s towns. While studying the history of Cache Valley, many accounts report the settling of different towns such as Wellsville, Logan, and Richmond. These early pioneer towns in Cache Valley, while each crucial to the growth and development of the valley, grew not only for similar purposes but each had a different contribution to Cache Valley s growth and development. The town of Franklin, however, next to the UtahIdaho border in Cache Valley, aided in the settlement of both Cache Valley and the territory of Idaho. These early years of Franklin were a model of how Mormon and Cache Valley settlements developed both in the ways in which land became divided, and how city lots measured out to (approximately 1 Вј acres) accommodate a garden, barn, and outbuildings. While recollecting the simple life of Franklin s early years, Joshua Hawkes said that the prospect appeared good...our house was but a log one and not that very stylish. I put in a small crop of wheat and had some volunteers which made us an ample amount for the season. In the center of the fort stood a bowery where formal worship services and council meetings took place as well as a community well, and corral to conceal cattle from night time Indian raids and attacks from wild animals. Besides these, every man also had a cane lot east of town, on which he raised sugar cane, along with hay lands lying south and west of town, near the cemetery. Broom corn was also later grown east of town, in which the corn and stalks were turned into homemade brooms. Early settlers such as Everett C. Van Orden, became attracted to pasture lands west of Franklin. Later with the Homestead Law being placed in Lewiston, and in 1869 a land office being established in Salt Lake City it made it possible for others to occupy land legally with a five year residence required for ownership. In the literature, women s status is commonly described in terms of their education, income, employment, health, fertility, etc. somewhere it has shown thattheir roles within family, community and society also. • 7. Photosynthesis Is The Conversion Of Light Energy Essay Photosynthesis is the conversion of light energy to chemical energy. There are many different factors that can affect the rate of photosynthesis, those being light intensity, the temperature of the water, the amount of carbon dioxide in the water, and the color of the light. In this experiment we chose to alter the colorof lightthat was used in the process involving the aquatic plant Elodea while maintaining the other 3 factors. This experiment was conducted to see how much of an effect the color of the light played in the amount of carbon dioxideproduced in the process of photosynthesis. We measured the amount of NaOH that was needed to color the water pink and then converted the net difference of drops into the net volume of carbon dioxide that was produced or consumed. The results showed that there was not a significant difference in the amount of carbon dioxide produced when using a standard regular colored light bulb compared to a green light bulb. Introduction Elodea, an aquatic plant, is very commonly used in classrooms around the world to help teach the process of photosynthesis (Berkeley 2015). Photosynthesis is the conversion of light energy to chemical energy. The process of photosynthesis occurs in the chloroplast of the plants. Inside the chloroplast is chlorophyll, which is what absorbs the light energy from the sunlight. Light intensity, the temperature of the water, the amount of carbon dioxide in the water, and the color of light used are four factors ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. F. Scott Fitzgerald s The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button SГёren Kierkegaard, a Danish philosopher once said, Life must be lived forward, but can only be understood backwards (Quotes, 2008). This quote seemed fitting to Benjamin Button with him aging backwards and having to grow up in a world where here is growing young. The Curious Case of Benjamin Button is a short story written by F. Scott Fitzgerald, the story was first published in Colliers Magazine in May of 1922. Following that, the screenplay was made, by Eric Roth. The screenplay was loosely based on the the short story. They both do not have too many similarities besides the two aging backwards. However, with the movie being loosely based upon the short story, there were more differences, including their families and their children. While, Roscoe was never a fan of Benjamin Button VS Caroline didn t learn about Benjamin until Daisy was dying (Short Story VS Film, 2013). In conclusion, the short story, written by F. Discuss the criminal justice systems role in the fight against drugs. Cocaine, crack, and heroin are three of the most abused illegal drugs in the United States. There are some forms of cocaine that are used for medicinal purposes. Cocaine is shipped from South America by drug cartels, mainly from Peru, Bolivia and Colombia. Drug cartels (coalitions or agreements between parties intended to further a mutual interest). Drug cartels handle the trafficking of the drug to one of its biggest customers, the United States. Heroin is an opioid drug that is manufactured from morphine. The heroin is extracted from the Asian opium poppy plant. It is believed that 24 percent of people who use heroin become addicted (dependency on a substance) and they cannot stop using it without adverse affects either psychologically or physiologically. Crack, or rock is more addictive than powder cocaine and heroin. Robin Haslam (2013), Director of Operations and Procedures for Addiction Canada, said that he has never seen someone who can just smoke crack casually. It s no surprise that this special type of the retirement plan is attracting investors with an interest in precious metals and a desire to put gold into an investment fund. The first step is to speak with a qualified professional to answer questions and assist in setting up the account to meet the requirements as an IRA. Nikki Davis Abstract In this tax season, when billions of dollars and tons of personal information is relayed to and from the government, it s more than disconcerting to hear that the Internal Revenue Service is still struggling to keep private information secure. The purpose of my study is to improve the safeguard of taxpayers data at the Internal Revenue Service. The U.S. attorney s office said in a news release today that Farrah Jones of Memphis, who was hired as a tax examining technician in 2001, used the data for returns she filed for herself and others. Prosecutors said Jones obtained dependent information from IRS files and used the data on tax returns she prepared, knowing that the taxpayers were not entitled to claim these dependents. One idea used is courtly love. Courtly love is on overpowering, overwhelming, and outgoing love that a woman has for her suitor. Many times this never ending loves causes either the lady of man to do unexplainable actions. On the other than chivalry is another idea did played a big part in influencing the writings throughout this era. .Chivalry is any behavior that fall under the knightly conduct code. Examples of this are caring, kind, being a gentleman, loyal, truthful, and faithful. These actions are found in the knights conduct code because they were behavioral traits usually found amongst knights. Though different both courtly love and chivalry are related. Further features of the disorder emerge as people try to make sense of the hallucinations. The intention is to show schizophrenics that their hallucinations are not real. As yet, however, there is no evidence that this will provide a successful treatment. The research by Brown and Birley was a retrospective study where data is collected after events have occurred. In other words, once a person had developed schizophrenia they were asked about events leading up to the onset. It is quite likely that recall would be negatively affected by the events surrounding the onset of schizophrenia so such evidence may be unreliable. Prospective studies are preferable, where people are studied after the onset of the disorder. Hirsch et al followed 71 schizophrenic patients over a 48 week period. It was clear that life events made a significant cumulative (increasing) contribution in the 12 months preceding relapse rather than immediately prior to the schizophrenic episode. This does support the retrospective research. However, not all research supports the importance of life stressors. For example, Van Os et al reported no link between life events and the onset of schizophrenia. In the prospective part of the study, patients who had experienced a major life event went on to have a lower incidence of relapse rather than an increased risk as predicted. One criticism of this research is that it is correlational. Therefore, we cannot infer a causal ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This book details the life of slavery and how Jacobs achieved freedom for her children and for herself. Jacobs detailed these painful, and intricate accounts through forty one chapters. Harriet Jacobs unfortunate experiences as a slave were significantly shaped because of her gender. Jacobs did indeed endure struggles through her race, but her gender is of great significance during her time as a slave. Jacobs used herself as an example to show how enslaved women were manipulated by their masters, the difficulties of being a mother during slavery mother, and how the fight for freedom were all impacted by her gender. Once Jacobs original mistress passed away, she was sold to a manipulative and lustful master. Forty years her senior, Dr. Flint, began to manipulate her at the age of fifteen But I now entered on my fifteenth year a sad epoch in the life of a slave girl. My master began to whisper foul words in my ear (chapter V). The manipulation not only troubled her, but her mistress became jealous and full of hatred over fourteen year old Jacobs. This caused tension between the mistress, Dr. Flint and Jacobs. Jacobs directed to the audience that beauty is an asset to those who are not slaves, but an immense disadvantage to slaves. Jacobs understood that she is able to induce the jealousy and anger of Mrs. Flint, She will be compelled to realize that she is no longer a child. If God has bestowed beauty upon her, it will prove her greatest curse. That which commands admiration in the white woman only hastens the degradation of the female slave (chapter V). Unlike most countries, culture in Colombia, Mexico, and Nigeriais still rich with superstition and mythological themes that bleed into the works of the authors that live there. Because of this, authors in these countries often write in the genre of magical realism, which combines aspects of fantasy and reality in writing, as noted by Thomas Alwa Edison in the International Journal of Multidisciplinary Approach and Studies. The painting was completed in 1885 and as is widely considered as Van Gogh s first masterpiece as the artist himself has regarded it as his most successful painting. A horizontal composition about 82cm x 114cm, the painting depicts a family of peasants, four woman and a man around a square table having potatoes for supper. Somber and earthly tones are used for the painting to emphasize the humble and low life of peasants. At first glance, the viewer will be drawn to look at the skillfully highlighted faces of the peasants, lit by an oil lamp at the center of the painting. The lamp serves as the only light source in the dark, cramped space of the cottage. The way the rays of light illuminate the room brings a feeling of hope and warmth to the cold dark atmosphere that surrounds the peasants representing the harsh reality faced by them in the outside world. Large, protruded features and scrawny hands implies that they have indeed gone through hard labor and tilled the earth themselves to earn the food on the table. It is not hard to imagine the hard and poor lives of peasants as illustrated in this painting. Our nation is currently over 18 trillion dollars in debt and this number continues to grow everyday. Social programs are leading our nation s people under a constraining weight of debt and forced dependency on the government. Our government needs to refocus on serving the people instead of enslaving them. Adam Smith, an eighteenth century Scottish moral philosopher said the ideal functions of the government are few and well defined. (Lipford, Slice, 2007) Smith named three important functions, national defense, administration of justice, and the provision of public goods. One of the largest reasons our country is in so much debt is from government expansion to include many socialistic programs. Many of these programs were started by President Franklin D. An (EMR) Electronic Medical Record consist of standard medical and clinical data gathered in the provider s office which include a more in debt patient history. EHRs are created to hold and distribute information from all providers dealing with patient care. EHR data can be created, managed, and advised by authorized providers and staff from across more than one health care organization. EHRs is another name for digital paper chart that hold all of the patient s medical history from one practice. While expanding daily, electronic medical records are becoming extremely popular. Research shows that some healthcare organizations continue to be reluctant to purchase electronic record programs. The pressure on hospitals, clinics, systems, physicians and other providers to get with the program is outstanding. Cost is a major concern for single practitioners, which are least likely among physicians to adopt EHRs. EHR systems are not cheap by any means. Physicians have to weigh the cost of not only creating, but supporting their own IT structure and applications as well. The option to decide to use external vendors to provide the services is given also.
