Raising Money in U.S. Stock Markets
1. Is raising money in U.S. stock markets more or less difficult than in the rest of the world? To
start, using the article that is cited for the class is...well, dated at the very least. The United States
has gone through at least a complete financial cycle since after the article was written. The tech bust
and then the quickly following tragedy of September 11, 2001 with the ensuing market meltdown
were just the beginning. Just to put it into perspective, During the last seven years, we ve had
recession, 9 11, Rita, Katrina, two wars, the mutual fund scandal, the meltdown in subprime, Enron,
WorldCom and Martha Stewart. According to Michael Arnow, director of financial planning in the
Milwaukee office of SJA Financial... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Is it wise for a U.S. corporation to list its stock on foreign stock exchanges? What are the possible
advantages and disadvantages of such a move? Listing on a foreign exchange brings the added
risks of uncertainty of the US dollar, trade embargoes, trade tariffs, foreign service fees, an
entirely different IRS reporting structure, and many other hurdles. If a company is big enough to
have a financial management section headed by a CFO, then it should not be very difficult to list
on a foreign exchange with enough program management. The advantages of listing of a foreign
exchange include greater exposure, opportunities in foreign markets that might otherwise be
unattainable, and higher profits. The disadvantages are much the same as in the setup; recurring
foreign taxes, trade margin fluctuations, and other foreign trade barriers. Overall, an ADR or
move to forward markets would, for a US based company, be a good move in the current
economy. Exposure to foreign markets and currencies would translate back to higher profits. For
companies outside the US, moving in would be a short term fiasco between the weakening dollar,
but in the long run an excellent move because now is the time to get into the US on the cheap .

My Long Term Goals Of The United States
While I was reading some quotes online, one quote stood out in particular. Don t ask me who
Kelly Rudolph is but when she said, Taking care of yourself makes you stronger for everyone in
your life... including you, she was speaking directly to me and the timing was impeccable. I
want to be resilient and capable of helping everyone around me. Well, maybe not everyone, but I
want to do what I can. Recently, I realized that I had to start taking care of well being and myself
in order to care for others. Getting to that point in my life where I am situated and stable so that it
becomes easier for me to do more for my familyis my long term goal.
My parents were both born in Central America. They came to the United States por tierra which
literally translates to through land. This means they did not have the luxury to sit on a plane
and were considered aliens as soon as they stepped foot on American soil. In the U.S., they met
through mutual friends, hit it off and I was born a year later. December 16, 1996 was the exact day
I became my father s first born child and my mom s second baby girl. My mom s first daughter was
born and bred in El Salvador so I didn t know much about her growing up. About five years later,
my younger twin sisters were born in the Fairfax hospital. That s when we realized our apartment
in Colonial Village was too small for all of us. So we packed our things and moved to Manassas
Park, this is where I started and finished school. I ve lived in

Pros And Cons Of Banning Texting While Driving
Many people die in texting accidents whether they re the distracted driver or not. Way too many
studies have shown that almost everyday in the United States more than eleven people will die
and 1,160 get injured. Being a distracted driver has been shown to take away your attention span
by 34% which makes you have an 11% chance of crashing. 1 It s not just teens who think that
they can text while drive, it is also the adults in our lives who think that they are old and wise
enough to do it. About 660,000 people who drive are attempted to use their phones while they are
on the road. 55% of people in the U.S. are committed to not text and drive, but 35% of people slip

One, you have absolutely idea what s going on because you re drinking and driving. Two, you

more dangerous than drinking while driving. Although drinking while driving is bad, texting
and driving is worse. 6 More adults die in drinking accidents than teens because that would mean
that they re drinking and driving, but still being underage. Reverse, more teens die in texting

driving? That is hands down the most dangerous of all. Yes, people actually do it. Although the

The Importance Of Indoor Air Pollution
Julia Henderson
H Environmental

Project
Indoor air quality at Stanwich is important for the health and comfort of teachers and students.
Understanding and controlling common pollutants indoors can help reduce health concerns. There
are many things that cause air pollution in our building including paint, heating system, cleaning
sprays, furniture and other materials. These pollutants can cause allergies, scratchy eyes, skin
irritation and headaches.
An approach to reducing air pollutants inside building is the use of plants and soil microorganisms.
Outside air quality depends on plants and microorganisms. Living in buildings away from plants
even without being exposed to chemicals, still exposes us to human waste products that cause
indoor air pollution problems.
What Causes of Indoor Air Problems
The primary cause of poor indoor air quality are sources that release gases or particles into the air.
Poor ventilation can increase indoor pollution by not bringing in enough outdoor fresh air into the
class that reduce the emissions from indoor pollution. Also, indoor air pollution is not carried out of
the class area. High classroom temperature and humidity levels can also increase concentrations of
some pollutants.
Pollutant Sources
There are many sources of indoor air pollution. These can include:
Building materials and furnishings as diverse as:
Deteriorated asbestos containing insulation
Newly installed flooring, upholstery or carpet
Cabinetry or

The Space Of Space Exploration Essay
Introduction
One of the greatest unknowns within our human existence is life outside of our known universe;
decades of research, teamwork and funding have manifested phenomenal scientific triumphs in the
fields of space exploration and aeronautics. The forefront of this Space Race arguably began with
the Sputnik, a Russian artificial satellite launched in the late 1950 s. Following the launch of
Sputnik 1, the genesis of American competitive space exploration built roots in the formation of
NASA under the Presidency of Dwight D. Eisenhower. The National Aeronautics and Space
Administration was founded in 1958 under a premise of competitive space exploration and
continued discovery of truths residing outside of our existence on planet Earth. NASA externally
competes with other teams of space explorers, which primarily includes Russia s Federal Space
Agency, commonly called Roscosmos. However, moving away from Cold War competitiveness
and the race to build the biggest and best rockets, NASA has fostered over fifty years worth of the
most fortified and cohesive teamwork in the fields of science and aerospace engineering.
The unwavering cohesion of NASA engineers, scientists and explorers has exclusively demanded
the best and brightest to work on their teams. External pressures both on and off of the deployed
NASA spacecraft render their employees to work with the strongest teamwork achievable between
their highly diverse team members. NASA continues to recruit

Feminist Reflection
On Tuesday August 29, 2017 it was my first day of WMST 250. I was nervous and had so many
thoughts and questions running through my mind. I hope my professor is nice, She didn t have
any reviews on ratemyprofessor.com, (Yes...I did look you up on there! LOL!) and I wonder what
the class material will be? The questions we started off with were about feminism. Before our first
class we were assigned to watch We Should All Be Feminists TED Talk by Chimamanda Ngozi
Adichie. Our first activity was ordering images from least to most feminism. Before I began this
activity I googled the definition of feminism because truthfully I was not familiar with feminism
or feminist. Also one of our first readings was Feminist Politics: Where We Stand by Bell Hooks.
We had several assignments throughout the semester. We had Reading Responses, Museum Visit
Writing Assignment, Presentation in Pairs, Art Activist Intervention, and Final Learning
Analysis. The reading responses allowed students to ask questions and keep the reader engaged
while reading. Personally, if I did not have to create questions from the readings I would not
have been engaged in the reading or read as carefully as I did. The Museum Visit Writing
Assignment allowed students to go outside of their comfort zone because we went to museums
which many of us probably would not have done in our free time. Cara wanted us to feel like we
belonged at museums and her goal was accomplished on my end. Before I went on my museum

B2B eCommerce Best Practices Guide Accepting Online Payments
Accepting Online Payments from Multiple Gateways
Traditional B2B invoicing, on account arrangements and payments by check prove increasingly
inefficient when companies can get immediate payments using credit cards and integrating other
mobile payment systems into their eCommerce platforms. Technology and faster communications,
secure encryptions of financial information and growing acceptance of mobile payments are
influencing business to business organizations to offer more payment options to their customers.
Integrating multiple payment solutions not only leads to faster payments and better cash flow but

Studies show that eight billion invoices paid by check cost U.S. businesses $100 billion in annual
processing costs.[1]
Most B2B companies struggle to implement electronic payment systems primarily because of the
challenges of integrating with out of the box accounting software and antiquated legacy systems.
However, 91 percent of all adults now use mobile phones and can easily pay companies directly
with check cards, credit cards or other mobile payment options.[2] Customizing a B2B website for
multiple payment options provides long term benefits that will only increase with time and enable
increased automation of company processes. These include automated options for recurring billing,
interactive voice response or IVR technology for confirming orders and taking credit card or billing
information and Virtual Negotiation technology for speeding agreements and handling payment
disputes. Mobile payments grew more than 9 percent annually in 2013 and now account for more
than 40 percent of global revenue.[3] McKinsey predicts a sustained annual growth rate for mobile
payments in excess of 6 percent that should surpass $2 trillion annually by 2020.
Accepting multiple payment types increases the value of any eCommerce platform by empowering
customers and simplifying the billing payment cycle. It s a new world for B2B companies that
stand to benefit from these technologies, but there are

Power Struggle In Macbeth
Power is a very common theme in many dramatic literary works and it is very apparent in
William Shakespeare s Macbeth. Known simply as the Scottish Play in the theatre community,
this tragedy perfectly encompasses the desire of a character to gain power over others and free
themselves from opposition. The power struggle that takes place within the play is not just a
struggle to obtain power, but a struggle with what the power does to those who hold it. The
message of the play is that unchecked ambition can be an extremely destructive force and can cause
the downfall of a character with a once very promising future. During the play, Macbethlearns a
prophecy about himself which includes becoming Thane of Cawdor and King of Scotland in his

Psychic Abilities
Psychic Abilities Are Real
Michael Tollis

A course in miracles claims that the mind has abilities far beyond what our modern world deems
possible (2012, circle of a, Mackie). There are stories that there are sightings of people using
psychic abilities. There are also people who swear that they have seen psychic abilities.
However, some might say that those people who swear by it, must be watching too much T.V if
they say they have seen it. Psychics could be real or they could be fake and who knows whether
they are being realistic about it or not. There are no such things or people like Sam Winchester , a

It is a common misconception that people with psychic abilities must be highly evolved
individuals. There are no such things like everyone being the same and we are all special
individuals and all vary in a different way. Some people like to say that they have a twin
somewhere in the world, but they re never 100 percent the same. The possession of psychic
abilities does not indicate a person s level of development anymore than the possession of great
physical strength does. We all have psychic potential, but our abilities stay dormant until they are
activated. Psychic abilities can be learned by anyone who takes the time and effort to learn them,
but that time and effort would be better directed towards developing their consciousness (2012,
psychic abilities explained, esoteric science). There are different types of telepathy. The lowest type
of telepathy is an instinctive and sub conscious faculty that we all possess to a degree. It is the
least effective type of telepathy, but it is more successful between people with close emotional
bonds, such as mother and child. It is only capable of sending and receiving vague subconscious
impressions, such as sensing that someone is watching you or knowing who is calling when the
phone rings (2012, psychic abilities explained, esoteric science). Telepathy can be a good thing,
but also a bad thing, because there is no knowledge of what type of information is being sent. So

There are several different types of data collection methods. It is up to the researcher to decide if
one type of data collection will be used or if several types of data collection will be used. Data can
be collected through observation, reanalysis of existing data, questionnaires, or interviews (Hagan,
2010).
It should be mentioned that data collection is in fact the research step. This step can be very
involved and time consuming. A person will be required to gather any and all information
available on their chosen subject. If the desired information is lacking, then he or she will need to
create the data. This data will then need to be compiled into one place for the researcher to analyze
it. After analyzing the data, any and all findings should be presented. This can be a rather lengthy
step because summarizing, reporting, statistically analyzing, and presenting the findings can
consume more time than all the other steps combined (Hagan, 2010).
Finally, conclusions, interpretations, and limitations should be drawn from the research. This is
the step in which the researcher will explain what he or she believes the study has to say.
Throughout the research process and especially at this juncture, the researcher must take care to
keep his or her personal beliefs and feelings out of their work (Hagan, 2010).
As previously mentioned, it is important that someone wanting to be involved in research in
criminal justice

An Anatomical Analysis of the Tennis Serve
Introduction
Tennis serve is the shot that starts off the point. It is normally instigated by pitching the ball into
the air and thumping it into the diagonally opposite service box exclusive of touching the net.
This act is attained underhand or overhead. It is the only attempt where a player takes his time to
position up, instead of reacting to an opponent s shot. In doing this, high percentages of the efforts
are normally exerted at the upper extremity of the body, while the rest at the lower extremity of the
body. the serves comes in five main types of which includes; cannonball or flat serve, topspin slice
serve, slice serve, American twist serve and the topspin serve. The paper will focus on the some of
the types of the serves and the ways in which the upper extremity are involved in the game. With
this, it will look at the movements that occur at each of the upper extremity together with the
muscles that are in use at the joints.
The upper extremities are linked to the shaft by means of the shoulder girdle. These parts of the
body includes; the shoulder girdle together with the shoulder blade and collar bone, the upper arm
together with the humerus, the lower arm with the radius, the hand with carpus and lastly the
metacarpus and fingers. During the implication of the different types of the serve, the extremities
are used in different ways in that, they are involved in different movement and different types of the

Playing Violent Video Games On Children
Playing Violent Video Games
When kids get bored they turn to their PlayStation four, Nintendo DS, or Xbox and play their
favorite games. According to the journal of the American Medical Association, Several peer
reviewed studies have shown that children who play M rated games are more likely to bully and
cyberbully their peers, get into physical fights, be hostile, and show aggression towards their peers.
(Carter 32) Video games are known as time wasters to parents, and worse, these games can corrupt
the brain. Furthermore, when playing violent video games kids can attach the game into their
personal life. Some games can teach kids wrong values. Playing violent video games can cause
aggression, bullying, and depression in kids.
Aggression is caused by playing violent video games. When aggression is built up in a kid is
caused by the difficulty of the game. When the difficulty of the game is increased so are the
levels. Then, as the levels increase, becoming angry, means that the game has the player. Always
about wanting more than what they already have. Next, when the kid can t reach the goal
causing them to lose will make the children try again and again causing their adrenaline to speed
up due to the hyperactive role causing aggressive behavior to the player. In addition, aggressive
behavior can be caused by winning too. This can affect kids who have an addiction to playing
violent video games, because when kids win they seem to try to show off to their opponent player.

What It Takes With Illegally Cross The U.s. -mexico Border
What it Takes to Illegally Cross the U.S. Mexico Border
It is the human nature to have a need to build a superior future for oneself and one s families. In
cases where people believe that they are not in a decent place and their future by all accounts is in
shambles, they are more willing to take risks and hopefully move to a better point. The same
theory applies to the people who are seeking to illegally enter the U.S. Many of those people have
been disappointed with the failings and shortcomings of their government. In addition, the
expansion of drug cartel in the country and rising violence has people on their knees deep in
poverty without any opportunity to earn and thrive. Thus, they see the neighboring country, the

Hence, some of the women ingest birth control pills before they start the journey anticipating the
worst like rape to avoid unwanted pregnancies. Some women who are not raped, are forced or
expected to give sexual favors to the coyotes as a form of payment for the crossings (218). The
illegal crossing comes as a huge financial burden to attain the dreams of living a better life.
Additionally, people consistently and constantly expect and prepare for the worst case scenarios
and pray that they do not succumb to it. The migrants already recognize that they will be
participating in a lengthy and struggling hike in an unknown territory. However, instead of resting,
their mind will be swamped dreading the unknown. The female migrants suffer from a higher
mental toll and pressure as they worry about sexual abuse or being dumped in a fresh trade
business on top of everything. Therefore, the journey to cross the U.S. border is mentally draining
and distressing to the travelers.
In the same manner, the quest to cross the border is demanding and challenging. On an average
summer, the temperature in the area rises above 120 Fahrenheit and lowers below 42 Fahrenheit
(Androff 165). Because of this extreme temperature and the number of miles that it takes one to
cross the border, it is about impossible to carry enough water to combat dehydration (Debuys 218).

Failure In The Odysseus
The Role Failure has in Success
It is okay to be a glowstick, sometimes we need to break before we shine ( 12 quotes That will

have a new start, to grow bigger then they ever were. In order to have success, sometimes failure
comes first, this happens in today s life, and the Odyssey.
Odysseus was a brave and strong man that got through unimaginable dangers, but that doesn t
mean he didn t have any failure that led to his success. Odysseus was a leader to all of his men,
but his orders are not always followed. In the story, The Odyssey written by Homer, Odysseus was

Odysseus was weary about it, but he was outnumbered, so, he agreed to stop at the island with
only one rule they had to obey. They were not allowed to kill or touch the cattle on the island. The
stay at the island was longer than Odysseus had planned, there were strong winds sent by Zeus that
didn t let them go bad out to sea, and forced them to stay in the island for a long time. One night
Odysseus fell asleep. His men were starving, overcome by their hunger, they killed the cattle to
eat. Once Odysseus found out, he cried out to the gods, O Father Zeus and gods in bliss forever,
you made me sleep away this day of mischief! O cruel drowsing in the evil hour! Here they sat
and a great work they contrived (Homer 842). Odysseus failed at keeping his men from eating
the cattle. The failure broke him down, but he still kept on going with his job, that later soon
will led to his success. Odysseus succeeded many times along his journey, but there is always
room to grow stronger. Odysseus failed once again at Helios s Island. Once the winds, that were

to peacefully seek civil rights. Blacks in America were once slaves. They had neither freedom
nor rights. Now, in the 20th century, segregation has been abolished and discrimination has
largely been reduced and blacks are more able to live freely as American citizens. In Early 1950
s, blacks did not have civil rights, so they had to fight for their freedom by protesting. In 1955,
blacks decided to rally together for social justice and planned a boycott. This boycott became

These laws were applied to the use of everything such as, bathrooms, water fountains, restaurants
and buses. The enforcement of the Jim Crow laws was one of the key factors for the Montgomery
Bus Boycott, initiated by determined black women. People today know Rosa Parks as the pivotal
for the main cause of Montgomery Bus Boycott, but it was not just her, it was also Claudette
Colvin. She was one of the four women who got arrested nine months before Parks in March
1955. Colvin s situation was similar to Parks; Colvin refused to give up her seat to a white
passenger on a Montgomery bus . Claudette was only fifteen years old at the time of the arrest.
She was also a member of the NAACP Youth Council. The NAACP wanted to test the
Montgomery Bus System by assigning black women to challenging the Jim Crow law on buses
in Montgomery, AL. After her arrest, even though she was a youth, the NAACP thought Colvin
would be their key to their rebellion, but could not happen because she later became pregnant.
During her pregnancy, Colvin testified in the Montgomery federal court on the hearing of the
Browder v. Gayle case. Her performance of that civil disobedience did not spark the bus boycott
as Parks did, but did started something that Rosa Parks finished. The elevation of the bus conflict
increased on December 1, 1955, when Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat to a white person.
There was a law that allowed white bus drivers to expand the whites

Reggae, a generic name for all Jamaican popular music since 1960, is defined as a West Indian
style of music with a strongly accented subsidiary beat (Chang). Reggae music is a great style of
music that was popularized by one of the world s most famous musicians, Bob Marley.
Personally, I never listened to it until I made it to college, and it has quickly become one of my
favorite genres. For that reason is why I chose to write this paper on Reggaemusic. This genre is a
very calming and relaxing style of music, which helps me when I am trying to focus on doing

In this portion of the paper I will be focusing on Bob Marley and give an introduction to who he is,
how he learned his music and how he became famous. On February 6, 1945 in Saint Ann,
Jamaica, Bob Marley was born. His father was a white Englishman and his mother was a black
Jamaican. When Marley was ten years old his father died, and at that point his mother moved
him to Kingston s Trechtown neighborhood. As a teenager in Kingston he became friends with
Bunny Wailer and this is when Marley learned to play music. When Marley was 14 years old he
decided to drop out of school so he could learn the welding trade, and at the same time he spent
his spare time jamming with Bunny and Ska musician Joe Higgs. In 1962 Bob had recorded his
first two singles but neither one of them had received any interest at the time. The following year
he began a Ska band with his friend Bunny and Peter Tosh, which was originally called The
Teenagers . They then became known as The Wailing Rudeboys and after a few more name
changes they eventually came up with simply The Wailers. In 1964 they came out with their
earliest Studio One hit which was recorded in the popular rock steady style, Simmer Down.
Following that track they came out with another hit in 1965 that was entitled Soul Rebel in which
both songs were written by Marley. In 1966 Marley married Rita Anderson, they had 12 kids

Common Core State Standards ( Ccss )
Common Core State Standards (CCSS) is a widely debatable topic. Parents, teachers,
administration, and even states have taken a stance on what they believe. CCSS is a document
created by researchers, teachers, administration, and even the public, stating exactly what each
student in grades K 12 should be accomplishing by the end of each level. It is ideally in place for
teachers to have a clear understanding of what students are expected to achieve and know by each
benchmark test so they can ensure this readiness. Though much thought and exertion has gone into
the production and implementation of these standards, many myths have been formulated from
them, causing the standards to sound as if they do not have any advantage to our schools (
Understanding the Common Core ). Adopting common standards means bringing all states
standards down to the lowest common denominator. This means that states with high standards are
actually taking a step backwards by adopting the Common Core ( Utah Core Standards ). This is
one of the biggest myths that branch from common core. While this does seem reasonable to
believe, it is false. The creators of the criteria looked at the current standards nationally and globally
to compose a list from the highest benchmarks available. The new standards not only bring the
lower states up, but those with the highest expectations for their students have to bring their
schooling to the next level with Common Core in place. This provides the assurance

Fertility Treatment Research Paper
Using Fertility Treatments as a Solution to Infertility Making big choices in life can be difficult,
especially if that big choice is having children. There are many men and women who are infertile
that still want to have children. Most decide to adopt other children who do not have families or
their families do not want them. But when adoption is not an option, there is now a way where
those men and women can have their own children together through fertilitytreatments. Fertility
treatments could be a good thing:being able to freeze egg and sperm, they can help infertile
couples, and avoiding transmitted diseases would be easier.
Egg Freezing The more popular and developing method of treatment is egg freezing. During this
procedure they take an embryo and freeze it for a month before they place it in a uterus to be later
fertilized (Maher). This method was first used for cancer patients. Cancer treatments, like
chemotherapy, can damage the ovaries and make it almost impossible for chemo patients to
reproduce. Doctors do this procedure by taking an ovary, from the patient before they start their
cancer treatments, and slicing it into strips before they freeze it (Though Experimental, Ovarian
Tissue Transplants Can Help Some Women Have Children)(see figure 1).

widespread use in the past year or so. By doing this , the miscarriage rate has dropped by 50
percent because the genetically abnormal embryos are the ones that end in miscarriage.

What Is The Irony In The Convergence Of The Twain
The Convergence of Twain In Thomas Hardy s poem, The Convergence of the Twain , the speaker
depicts the sinking of the Titanic as a natural occurrence. He addresses the situation with a
nonchalant voice, displaying the unemotional view of this tragically well known event. Since the
title of the poem conveys a message of peace, it exhibits irony because a majority of the literature
written about the Titanic is violent and passionate. Ultimately, the speaker employs multiple poetic
devices to convey his emotionless, innate attitude toward the sinking of the ship. The poem opens
up with a description of the Titanic and the people aboard it. The speaker includes strong imagery
to illustrate the elite life as well as the personal items that

Loopy Lydia Diary
Short story
Seven days ago, something awful happened. I m only writing this diary entry as I need to get my
anger and frustration out some way. The guilt inside me is eating me alive it s growing and
growing. The pain is invading my whole body. Let me start from the beginning, then will it all
begin to make sense.
I hated the man with a passion, the mere thought of him made me sick to my stomach. You could
say that I haven t been the same since that day. I hardly eat and I like to keep to myself. The girls
in my school call me loopy Lydia. It s only because I don t speak in class and I prefer to draw then
speak. People think I don t understand, what they say, they think I m crazy when in actual fact I
can understand. They say that I have pale, lifeless eyes and that I seem like I m in catatonic state
but if only they knew. My mum knows and I hate that she knows. She had the power to do
something to stop it, to stop that disgusting act. But she didn t, she stood there and watched. She
cried and watched but she didn t stop him. She sat in the corner while it all happened. For 8 years

hand and he fell. It was an accident I swear but I don t regret it. I can picture it in my head right
now as I m writing; his cold body lay on the floor in a pool of crimson; I can picture his face as the
blood drained away and I can picture my mum, she was motionless like a statue. A tear drizzling
down her cheeks. I remember her cradling him and whispering he same five words: Where did we

Major Motor Pathways Case Study
Look at Table 8.1 in which Carlson summarizes the Major Motor Pathways; consider the related
cortical and subcortical structures controlling movement. Then consider the relationship between
alpha motor neurons and extrafusal muscle fibers. Sir Charles Sherrington stated that the alpha
motor neuron (which is also referred to as the lower motor neuron) is the final common pathway. As
psychologists, this notion of the final common pathway being comprised of lower motor neuron
axons is very important to us. Considering the above information, why would Sherrington and
everyone since refer to the alpha motor neuron as the final common pathway? Incorporate
neuroanatomical information about motor systems to support your explanation. The alpha motor...

On top of the nasal cavity, lies the olfactory epithelium (mucous tissue that covers the cribriform
plate and contains the cilia necessary for olfactory receptors). The process starts when air enters
the nasal cavity and makes its way to the olfactory receptors. These olfactory receptors are located
in the olfactory epithelium and contain many bipolar neurons. These receptors send processes to
the epithelium where it divides into 10 to 20 cilia. Molecules of odor then must dissolve in the
mucus and stimulate the receptors in the cilia, which detect aromatic molecules. Next, each
olfactory receptor cell sends an axon into the olfactory bulb, which is located at the end of the
olfactory tract. Here, it forms synapse with dendrites of mitral cells (neurons of olfactory bulb),
which takes place in the dendritic and axonal aborizations, called the olfactory glomeruli. From
there, the axons travel to the rest of the brain, some terminating in the ipsilateral forebrain and
contralateral olfactory bulb.
Furthermore, the axons of the olfactory tract project to either the amygdala, piriform cortex (region
of limbic cortex) and the entorhinal cortex (region of the limbic cortex). From the amygdala,
information then is sent to the hypothalamus. The entorhinal cortex sends its information to the
hippocampus. The piriform cortex takes its information to the hypothalamus and orbitofrontal cortex

connected to socioeconomic status. The information cited in this paper show that Hispanics have
lower socioeconomic status than whites and their low socioeconomic status is implicated as a risk

The Treatment Of Antibiotic Resistance
Antibiotic Resistance occurs when bacteria reformat themselves in order to become unaffected by
the drugs or substances created to terminate them. They gain resistance to the drugs which causes
the drugs to be ineffective of use and leading to more harm. Antibiotic Resistance commonly occurs
within patients due to physicians misusing or overusing antibiotics. This creates a common
resistance to patients and resulting in the constant creation for new antibiotics that would treat the
bacteria. The main conflict generally evolves from medical stewardship where physicians have the
responsibility to optimally heal their patients to their best efforts. However this is being neglected
by misuse of antibiotics due to several reasons, including patients ignorance and fear of malpractice.

Economic Benefits Of Globalization
Globalized cities act as connections between nations around the world, thereby creating the
international economy and fostering the development of impoverished nations by increasing the
mobility of capital and jobs. The mobility of capital and labor can be beneficial to international
corporations that are capable of taking advantage of international business opportunities. This aspect
of globalizationcan encourage the movement of the operations of large corporations to developing
areas that are in need of investment. While the movement of those corporations into developing
countries can be beneficial to the region as a whole, globalization does not always affect all
members of a population equally. Certain populations still struggle to find adequate housing,
employment opportunities, and healthcare despite the overall economic development in their city.
To maximize the benefits of globalization, it is also essential that city officials understand the
importance of creating a cohesive vision to guide the growth of an aspiring global city. The Meta
Theme laborand capital describes how globalization has increased the mobility of funds and jobs
due to the ease of transporting goods and exchanging information internationally. Capital
investments are essential to the development of cities. Even with an effective plan in place, the
development of a city is not possible without investment in infrastructure. Additionally, the mobility
of jobs made possible by globalization has

There are many types of natural disaster that are quite deadly (earthquake, tornado, volcanic
eruption, etc.). Out of all natural disaster that ever occurs on earth, I believe that tsunami is by far
most interesting one out of all. The reason why tsunami is very interesting is because it can be
triggered by many causes (earthquake, volcanic eruption, underwater landslide, fall of a large mass,
etc.) On this research paper; I will explain what exactly is tsunami, the 2004 Sumatra tsunami, and
how to predict tsunami.

Oil Persuasive Essay
The world s oil reserve is destined to deplete and expected to peak in 2020 as it is decreasing in
volume oil prices will go up, eventually leading to a plateau of oil based production.PErhaps As oil
goes 1 barrel will produce 5.8 million BTU, it takes 75 BTU to boil a cup of water. As a substitute
for oil I came to ethanol as a solution. if 1 barrel of oil produces 5.8 million BTU a barrel of
ethanol will produce 3.5 million BTU. Ethanol could provide roughly 2/3 of the world s energy.
But $770,000,000,000 for 11 days of world operation plus the additional 1/3 of energy needed to
fill the oil void would cost much more than oil. Ethanol is $70 per barrel versus Oil is $40 per

The Effects Of Random Audience On Cancer
For my final project, I decided to write my paper over my findings of if people were
knowledgeable about cancer. This is a subject that is near and dear to my heart, I have had a few
family diagnosed with cancer. Most of them are now in remission and I did lose a two family
members that lost their battle. I think if more people became knowledgeable about cancer, we
maybe can find a cure in the near future. I will explain how I analyzed the knowledge of the
random audience that I selected to partake in my survey. The key terms and definitions that I will
be using are: statistics, mean, median, mode, standard deviation, range, and population standard
deviation. Statistics is the science of collecting, organizing, analyzing, and interpreting data in
order to make decisions. The mean of a data set is the sum of the data entries divided by the
number of entries. The median of a data set is the value that lies in the middle of the data when
the data set is ordered. The mode of a data set is the data entry that occurs with the greatest
frequency. Standard deviation is a quantity calculated to indicate the extent of deviation for a
group as a whole. The range of a data set is the difference between the maximum and minimum
data entries in the set. The population standard deviation of a population data set of N entries is
the square root of the population variance (Larson Farber, 2014). The collection of data part was
the most fun for me! I crated a survey or list

Case Study #4 For School Counselor by Patrick Whaley
Problem Identification
The fact that school counselors work with minors plus this developmental stage can be crucial for a
child s emotional and mental development additionally, being aware of ethical standards and
dilemmas would also be important. In fact, the American School Counselor Association states in
section A.1.e (Supporting Student Development), Are concerned with students academic, career
and social/emotional needs and encourage each student s maximum development . In this current
case study, the school counselor has several things to be worried about as well as being worried
about this child s emotional and social well being. The first problem was when the school
counselor did not avoid dual relationships due to privately counseling with his student s parents.
The second problem occurred when the school counselor did not report the abuse to the proper
authorities because even mental abuse should still be reported. The third problem could have been
avoided if the school counselor would have disclosed to the client s parent s thus avoiding a
dilemma of failure to disclose.

how the worldview analyzes things. The first order cybernetic perspective is one, which means the

Endotherm
Endotherm refers to animals that adjust core temperature by internal corrective mechanism such as
humans. Most of the endotherm keep their body temperature around 35В°C to 40В°C. The body
temperature is controlled by the thermoregulatory centre in the hypothalamus. The temperature
regulating centers are discovered in the preoptic area situated in the anterior portion of the
hypothalamus. The function of this area is to receive information from temperaturereceptors located
in the skin, mucous membranes and also from the central thermoreceptors that monitor the
temperature of bloodthat pass through the brain. The hypothalamic thermostat works with other
areas of the brain to maintain the core temperature. When human facing cold weather, our skin
temperature drops. This stimulates skin cold receptors. When The thermoregulatory centre is
stimulated, hypothalamic thermostat and higher cortical centers are received all those signals. The
temperature change in the blood activated the thermostat. It cause response to control temperature.

not to mention definitely a time where we could go to the grocery store and not spend a fortune

day of my life. My life changed when my brother s heart stopped beating. It is easier to
emotionally adjust and understand when older or sick loved ones die. The comfort of knowing
they are in a better place soon or immediately follows after their death. But when a child just a few

GENESIS AND ANCIENT MYTHS OF THE NEAR EAST
When one approaches the biblical text, it is important to explore the cultural context in which the
text occurs. With regard to the Book of Genesis, it is important to examine the writing with other
contemporary works of similar geography and topics. The people of ancient Mesopotamia, where
the oldest civilizations originated, produced a number of stories of creation and natural
occurrences. It is important to note that many of the stories of the Sumerians, Akkadians and
Hebrews began as oral traditions as the events they depict predate writing, so it is difficult to date
these works on the basis of when these prehistoric myths were initiated. Comparison to writings

Just as there existed beings outside of creation in the Enuma Elish, the Hebrew God was present
prior to the formation of the world. As the universe becomes defined in the following stages, the
development described in each of the stories show a resemblance in events and the order in which
they occurred. It is important to note that light existed, in both stories, independent of celestial
bodies. Next, in same order, the sky and ground are created, followed by luminaries or the sun,
moon and stars. The fact that the sequence of the creation stories is nearly identical can hardly be
accidental according to some scholars. Subsequently, man is created with elements of divinity,
given the task of working the soil . At the conclusion of each creation story, the deities rest from
their work. While it is necessary to refrain from exaggerating the influence found in these
similarities, it is equally essential to remain open to the understanding that these works emerged
within a similar conceptual world .
Though many similarities in the creation stories of Genesis and the Enuma Elish, the divergences
are much more far reaching and significant . Unlike the gods of depicted in the Enuma Elish who
were coexistent and coeternal with the comic matter , the Hebrew God is transcendent and separate
from the substance of the cosmos, having Himself created it. While the Hebrew God exists in
eternity past,

Chinese and Vietnamese point of view, but has an emphasis on how the United States plays a vital
role in the resolution of this dispute.
Chapter 1 Historical Background
1.1 The Spratly and Paracel Islands
In order to better understand the dispute of these islands and this body of water, geography plays
a role considering the area sea is located to borders on many different regions. According
Chmillier Gendreau (2000), the south west of the Indian Ocean, the sea connects with the Straits
of Malacca and Singapore. To the north east, the sea connects with the Sea of Japan and the Strait
of Korea. The position of this body of water is interconnected with many other bodies of waters
which coincide with many countries. The islands residing in the middle of this sea therefore lies
in the middle of many different countries. The two islands, Spratly and Paracel Islands lie in the
middle of the maritime zone. Since it is in the middle, no neighboring country is really physically
connected to these islands by geography (Chemillier Gendreau, 2000, p. 16). Despite that fact,
China and Vietnam both claim sovereignty over these islands based on historical and

Cons Of Abortion Research Paper
To begin, abortion is likely the most popular controversial topic that many people do have very
different opinions about so in this essay I am going to attempt to be as open minded as possible.
As an introduction to my stance, I am proudly, pro choice. When I was presented with the idea of
abortions and began to understand them, it came to my attention that there are thousands of
involuntary pregnancies, in America alone, from rape. Yet I am, in no way, trying to single out
rape as a reason to refer to abortionas an option. Although, despite the recent light being cast onto
rape culture in recent media, there still seem to be an outrageous amount of people undermining
what the rape victims want to do with their unborn children. Those with pro life views often focus
on the fetus without taking into consideration what the said impregnated woman may want to say
on the matter.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I can honestly say, most of the pro life people I ve seen floating around the internet (social
media) are male and happen to feel the need to step into the subject of abortion, entirely blind
sided as to what the pro choice community has to say, claiming they re saving lives . Women can
get abortions from when the child is merely a clump of cells to roughly the size of a soccer ball,
depending on the state they reside, and that s how the theme of murder slid into a political
position. This theory that aborting a child that essentially resembles a newborn is murder needs to
dissipate completely. The mother is necessary for the fetus considering its only way to survive is
through her organs therefor; the entire process of pregnancy is entitled to the

Nicole 12y/o, Eric 8y/o and 9 month old Amanda. He has found that caring for his home and
children is not only tiring and lonely, but has caused a little coldness between Julia and himself.
Julia had been working such long hours. Gone before the kids woke, and home after they got to
bed. Jack had also found that Julia, normally being a beautiful, strong, funny, easy going and
personable woman, had been transforming into an overly sensitive, cold, snappy, angry woman. It

And he knew that if he called her for help, she would be there for him. She was truly concerned and
insisted on hopping on a plane as soon as she could and coming to watch the kids to give him a
hand. It was perfect timing because Julia was acting particularly strange. She even drove off the
side of the road and wound up in the hospital. Jack s old boss, Dom, was desperate and had Ricky
call for Jack to go to the plant in Nevada. Coincidentally, where Julia was heading a project. He had
said there was a huge problem that only Jack and his expertise would be able to handle. He wasn t
too sure about joining his old team again, but it certainly did peak his interest. He would be able to
get rid of the shelf life problem he had been having for finding a job and be able to see exactly what
his wife was up to. It seemed Julia s injuries were not so serious, so off he went to

Interracial Marriage Should Be Legal
Interracial marriages are still considered taboo in many countries in the world and even in the
United States. While the opportunity to marry whoever one desires is a reality in America, it is not
always common and sometime frowned upon in our communities. Much progress has been made as
a country to allow interracial marriages to be successful, but the American population has had
difficulty accepting the legal development that has taken place in our nation. Interracial Marriage
has been fought throughout our history but is not an unethical relationship in fact it creates
avenues to expand our diversity as a human race.
Interracial marriage can be defined as the union of two people of different racial or ethical
background. Historically interracial marriage has been deemed as an issue in America. With the
European powers in charge and a slave based economy, it was important to the early Americans to
maintain control over their slaves by whatever means needed. Poor treatment of slaves was a
common practice, which included miscegenation or interracial sexual activity, typically by rape.
This continued all through US history even after the freeing of their slaves, a result of the US Civil
War. Issues of interracial relationships and marriages were not brought to light until the African
American civil rights movements began to take place in the 1950s. (International Encyclopedia)
Two critical Supreme Court cases have played a major role in interracial relationships in US history.

Cochlear Implant History
A cochlear implant is an electronic medical device that does the work of the damaged parts of the
cochlea, which is the inner ear, to provide sound signals to the brain. Cochlear implants were a
major breakthrough in history. There was now a way for people, who have had little or no benefit
from hearing aids, to receive sound. The cochlear implant, which was sometimes called a Bionic
Ear could help some people to hear again.
In 1972 the first single channel cochlear implant was introduced. This provided many deaf people
with better lip reading enhancement. In 1984, a multi channel cochlear implant was introduced.
The difference between the single channel and multi channel implant system was that the single
channel system only delivered sound ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The speech processor is like a computer, it is usually with the microphone behind the ear. The
speech processor analyzes the sound and sends it to the transmitter.
The transmitter is worn on the head just behind the ear, it sends coded signals to the implanted
receiver just under the skin. The receiver takes the coded electrical signals from the transmitter and
takes them to the electrodes which have been surgically implanted in the cochlea. These electrodes
then stimulate the auditory nerve and the sensation of sound in recognized.
Cochlear implants help provide a sense of sound to an individual who is deaf or hard of hearing.
They can help individuals who have hearing loss in both ears or in only one ear. The benefits from
a cochlear implant vary depending on whether the individual had hearing loss before or after
developing language, the individual s age, or the motivation of the individual.
Cochlear implants do not restore normal hearing, but they can help a deaf individual to have an
3
effective representation of sound and help the individual understand speech. Most of the time,
individuals tend to hear better with time and practice.
Some individuals have benefitted from cochlear implants and some have not. There

The Stigma And Usage Of Recreational Drugs
The city of Philadelphia s recent policy changes regarding the stigma and usage of recreational
drugs has shown a positive impact on the community through decrease of incarcerations and
medical advancements. This essay argues that although state and local policy changes have shown
to be more effective than it s predecessor set by the Nixon administration, federal oversight and
involvement is still crucial to the success of applying a drug policy onto any type of population.
Recreational drugs, or otherwise known as club drugs are often described in American media as:
Drugs that are used primarily in venues where dancing takes places. Most studies and news reports
in the United States on club drugs particularly MDMA (ecstasy, E), crystal... Show more content on

The administration s expectations were simple. ...policymakers believed that harsh law
enforcement action against those involved in drug production, distribution and use would lead to
an ever diminishing market in controlled drugs such as heroin, cocaine and cannabis, and the
eventual achievement of a drug free world, (Global Commission 5). While the administration
thought brute force would put a swift end to the increase in drug use, the opposite occurred.
Combined with the other nations that pledged alongside the harsh law enforcement action, drug
usage increased across the board from 1998 to 2008: Opiates usage by 34.5%, Cocaine rose 27%,
and Cannabis rose 8.5% (6). Current drug policies were proving to be ineffective, but the federal
government took no immediate action to make changes:
An analysis of the last 10 years alone shows a large and growing market. In spite of the increasing
evidence that current policies are not achieving their objects, most policymaking bodies at the
national and international level have tended to avoid open scrutiny or debate on alternatives (6).
When the federal government s approach to handling the growing drug epidemic showed no
improvement, local governments started to take power over the situation through the use of state
laws, penalties, and city policymaking. While the city of Philadelphia follow federal rulings and
Pennsylvania s state laws, city politicians work to adopt new policies that

Abstract This paper presents the original findings of an approach to adopting the bit stream signal
to control a system. It contains the initial design process and simulations of a bit stream based PID
controller to control and stabilize the output of a proposed Capacitive Power Transfer system in the
discrete time domain. Processing The simulated results use MATLAB s Simulink and illustrate the
potential performance of the controller. Compared against simulations of a similar nature in
continuous time, the bit stream implemented system yields near identical results.

William Shakespeare Concreation
To keep a fire from burning out, you must add more wood to feed the flames. To keep a family
tree from dying, you must procreate to keep your family name alive. The first seventeen sonnets
of William Shakespeare are known as the procreation sonnets, for they discuss the necessity for a
man to have offspring. The very first sonnet explains that if he decided not to reproduce, then he
is considered selfish for not wanting to share his beauty with the world, and foolish for willingly
giving up immortality. If one were to procreate and give their beauty to the world they will be
gifted immortality. If one decides not to, then the powerful gift of eternal life will be gone through
the grasp of the man s fingers. The metaphor fairest creatures ... Show more content on

Once his prized possession is gone, he will have nothing left for him, as he did not beget any
children. In the ninth line, Thou that art now the world s fresh ornament the man is glancing
back at the past where he was young and vital, and his pretty face was just another decoration
piece. However, like any glass ornament, they can soon break and lose all of their value. Once
every ornament is gone, there will be none left, therefore this man is contributing to a
diminishing race. In line eleven, within thine own bud buriest thy content , the beauty which he
is keeping to himself, is being destroyed on his own will. Once time has left a mark on him, he
will be nothing but the ashes of a fire, or a dead withered, once beautiful, rose. Line 12, and,
tender churl, mak st waste in niggarding , shows the paradox of the words tender and churl which
is a waste in hoarding. This is referring to youth as being completely useless and worthless, if one

  • 2. Raising Money in U.S. Stock Markets 1. Is raising money in U.S. stock markets more or less difficult than in the rest of the world? To start, using the article that is cited for the class is...well, dated at the very least. The United States has gone through at least a complete financial cycle since after the article was written. The tech bust and then the quickly following tragedy of September 11, 2001 with the ensuing market meltdown were just the beginning. Just to put it into perspective, During the last seven years, we ve had recession, 9 11, Rita, Katrina, two wars, the mutual fund scandal, the meltdown in subprime, Enron, WorldCom and Martha Stewart. According to Michael Arnow, director of financial planning in the Milwaukee office of SJA Financial... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Is it wise for a U.S. corporation to list its stock on foreign stock exchanges? What are the possible advantages and disadvantages of such a move? Listing on a foreign exchange brings the added risks of uncertainty of the US dollar, trade embargoes, trade tariffs, foreign service fees, an entirely different IRS reporting structure, and many other hurdles. If a company is big enough to have a financial management section headed by a CFO, then it should not be very difficult to list on a foreign exchange with enough program management. The advantages of listing of a foreign exchange include greater exposure, opportunities in foreign markets that might otherwise be unattainable, and higher profits. The disadvantages are much the same as in the setup; recurring foreign taxes, trade margin fluctuations, and other foreign trade barriers. Overall, an ADR or move to forward markets would, for a US based company, be a good move in the current economy. Exposure to foreign markets and currencies would translate back to higher profits. For companies outside the US, moving in would be a short term fiasco between the weakening dollar, but in the long run an excellent move because now is the time to get into the US on the cheap . • 3. My Long Term Goals Of The United States While I was reading some quotes online, one quote stood out in particular. Don t ask me who Kelly Rudolph is but when she said, Taking care of yourself makes you stronger for everyone in your life... including you, she was speaking directly to me and the timing was impeccable. I want to be resilient and capable of helping everyone around me. Well, maybe not everyone, but I want to do what I can. Recently, I realized that I had to start taking care of well being and myself in order to care for others. Getting to that point in my life where I am situated and stable so that it becomes easier for me to do more for my familyis my long term goal. My parents were both born in Central America. They came to the United States por tierra which literally translates to through land. This means they did not have the luxury to sit on a plane and were considered aliens as soon as they stepped foot on American soil. In the U.S., they met through mutual friends, hit it off and I was born a year later. December 16, 1996 was the exact day I became my father s first born child and my mom s second baby girl. My mom s first daughter was born and bred in El Salvador so I didn t know much about her growing up. About five years later, my younger twin sisters were born in the Fairfax hospital. That s when we realized our apartment in Colonial Village was too small for all of us. So we packed our things and moved to Manassas Park, this is where I started and finished school. Way too many studies have shown that almost everyday in the United States more than eleven people will die and 1,160 get injured. Being a distracted driver has been shown to take away your attention span by 34% which makes you have an 11% chance of crashing. 1 It s not just teens who think that they can text while drive, it is also the adults in our lives who think that they are old and wise enough to do it. About 660,000 people who drive are attempted to use their phones while they are on the road. 55% of people in the U.S. are committed to not text and drive, but 35% of people slip on their commitments and do it anyways. 2 An estimated 75% of people who are... Studies have shown that texting while driving is 71% more dangerous than drinking while driving. • 5. The Importance Of Indoor Air Pollution Julia Henderson H Environmental 11/10/17 Project Indoor air quality at Stanwich is important for the health and comfort of teachers and students. Understanding and controlling common pollutants indoors can help reduce health concerns. There are many things that cause air pollution in our building including paint, heating system, cleaning sprays, furniture and other materials. These pollutants can cause allergies, scratchy eyes, skin irritation and headaches. An approach to reducing air pollutants inside building is the use of plants and soil microorganisms. Outside air quality depends on plants and microorganisms. Living in buildings away from plants even without being exposed to chemicals, still exposes us to human waste products that cause indoor air pollution problems. What Causes of Indoor Air Problems The primary cause of poor indoor air quality are sources that release gases or particles into the air. Poor ventilation can increase indoor pollution by not bringing in enough outdoor fresh air into the class that reduce the emissions from indoor pollution. Also, indoor air pollution is not carried out of the class area. High classroom temperature and humidity levels can also increase concentrations of some pollutants. Pollutant Sources There are many sources of indoor air pollution. These can include: Building materials and furnishings as diverse as: Deteriorated asbestos containing insulation Newly installed flooring, upholstery or carpet Cabinetry or ... • 6. The Space Of Space Exploration Essay Introduction One of the greatest unknowns within our human existence is life outside of our known universe; decades of research, teamwork and funding have manifested phenomenal scientific triumphs in the fields of space exploration and aeronautics. The forefront of this Space Race arguably began with the Sputnik, a Russian artificial satellite launched in the late 1950 s. Following the launch of Sputnik 1, the genesis of American competitive space exploration built roots in the formation of NASA under the Presidency of Dwight D. Eisenhower. The National Aeronautics and Space Administration was founded in 1958 under a premise of competitive space exploration and continued discovery of truths residing outside of our existence on planet Earth. NASA externally competes with other teams of space explorers, which primarily includes Russia s Federal Space Agency, commonly called Roscosmos. However, moving away from Cold War competitiveness and the race to build the biggest and best rockets, NASA has fostered over fifty years worth of the most fortified and cohesive teamwork in the fields of science and aerospace engineering. The unwavering cohesion of NASA engineers, scientists and explorers has exclusively demanded the best and brightest to work on their teams. External pressures both on and off of the deployed NASA spacecraft render their employees to work with the strongest teamwork achievable between their highly diverse team members. • 7. Feminist Reflection On Tuesday August 29, 2017 it was my first day of WMST 250. I was nervous and had so many thoughts and questions running through my mind. I hope my professor is nice, She didn t have any reviews on ratemyprofessor.com, (Yes...I did look you up on there! LOL!) and I wonder what the class material will be? The questions we started off with were about feminism. Before our first class we were assigned to watch We Should All Be Feminists TED Talk by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie. Our first activity was ordering images from least to most feminism. Before I began this activity I googled the definition of feminism because truthfully I was not familiar with feminism or feminist. Also one of our first readings was Feminist Politics: Where We Stand by Bell Hooks. We had several assignments throughout the semester. We had Reading Responses, Museum Visit Writing Assignment, Presentation in Pairs, Art Activist Intervention, and Final Learning Analysis. The reading responses allowed students to ask questions and keep the reader engaged while reading. Personally, if I did not have to create questions from the readings I would not have been engaged in the reading or read as carefully as I did. The Museum Visit Writing Assignment allowed students to go outside of their comfort zone because we went to museums which many of us probably would not have done in our free time. Cara wanted us to feel like we belonged at museums and her goal was accomplished on my end. Before I went on my museum ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Studies show that eight billion invoices paid by check cost U.S. businesses $100 billion in annual processing costs.[1] Most B2B companies struggle to implement electronic payment systems primarily because of the challenges of integrating with out of the box accounting software and antiquated legacy systems. However, 91 percent of all adults now use mobile phones and can easily pay companies directly with check cards, credit cards or other mobile payment options.[2] Customizing a B2B website for multiple payment options provides long term benefits that will only increase with time and enable increased automation of company processes. These include automated options for recurring billing, interactive voice response or IVR technology for confirming orders and taking credit card or billing information and Virtual Negotiation technology for speeding agreements and handling payment disputes. Mobile payments grew more than 9 percent annually in 2013 and now account for more than 40 percent of global revenue.[3] McKinsey predicts a sustained annual growth rate for mobile payments in excess of 6 percent that should surpass $2 trillion annually by 2020. Accepting multiple payment types increases the value of any eCommerce platform by empowering customers and simplifying the billing payment cycle. Known simply as the Scottish Play in the theatre community, this tragedy perfectly encompasses the desire of a character to gain power over others and free themselves from opposition. The power struggle that takes place within the play is not just a struggle to obtain power, but a struggle with what the power does to those who hold it. It is a common misconception that people with psychic abilities must be highly evolved individuals. There are no such things like everyone being the same and we are all special individuals and all vary in a different way. Some people like to say that they have a twin somewhere in the world, but they re never 100 percent the same. The possession of psychic abilities does not indicate a person s level of development anymore than the possession of great physical strength does. We all have psychic potential, but our abilities stay dormant until they are activated. Psychic abilities can be learned by anyone who takes the time and effort to learn them, but that time and effort would be better directed towards developing their consciousness (2012, psychic abilities explained, esoteric science). There are different types of telepathy. The lowest type of telepathy is an instinctive and sub conscious faculty that we all possess to a degree. It is the least effective type of telepathy, but it is more successful between people with close emotional bonds, such as mother and child. It is only capable of sending and receiving vague subconscious impressions, such as sensing that someone is watching you or knowing who is calling when the phone rings (2012, psychic abilities explained, esoteric science). There are several different types of data collection methods. It is up to the researcher to decide if one type of data collection will be used or if several types of data collection will be used. Data can be collected through observation, reanalysis of existing data, questionnaires, or interviews (Hagan, 2010). It should be mentioned that data collection is in fact the research step. This step can be very involved and time consuming. A person will be required to gather any and all information available on their chosen subject. If the desired information is lacking, then he or she will need to create the data. This data will then need to be compiled into one place for the researcher to analyze it. After analyzing the data, any and all findings should be presented. This can be a rather lengthy step because summarizing, reporting, statistically analyzing, and presenting the findings can consume more time than all the other steps combined (Hagan, 2010). Finally, conclusions, interpretations, and limitations should be drawn from the research. This is the step in which the researcher will explain what he or she believes the study has to say. Throughout the research process and especially at this juncture, the researcher must take care to keep his or her personal beliefs and feelings out of their work (Hagan, 2010). It is normally instigated by pitching the ball into the air and thumping it into the diagonally opposite service box exclusive of touching the net. This act is attained underhand or overhead. It is the only attempt where a player takes his time to position up, instead of reacting to an opponent s shot. In doing this, high percentages of the efforts are normally exerted at the upper extremity of the body, while the rest at the lower extremity of the body. the serves comes in five main types of which includes; cannonball or flat serve, topspin slice serve, slice serve, American twist serve and the topspin serve. According to the journal of the American Medical Association, Several peer reviewed studies have shown that children who play M rated games are more likely to bully and cyberbully their peers, get into physical fights, be hostile, and show aggression towards their peers. (Carter 32) Video games are known as time wasters to parents, and worse, these games can corrupt the brain. Furthermore, when playing violent video games kids can attach the game into their personal life. Some games can teach kids wrong values. Playing violent video games can cause aggression, bullying, and depression in kids. Aggression is caused by playing violent video games. When aggression is built up in a kid is caused by the difficulty of the game. When the difficulty of the game is increased so are the levels. Then, as the levels increase, becoming angry, means that the game has the player. Always about wanting more than what they already have. Next, when the kid can t reach the goal causing them to lose will make the children try again and again causing their adrenaline to speed up due to the hyperactive role causing aggressive behavior to the player. In addition, aggressive behavior can be caused by winning too. This can affect kids who have an addiction to playing violent video games, because when kids win they seem to try to show off to their opponent player. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Blacks in America were once slaves. They had neither freedom nor rights. Now, in the 20th century, segregation has been abolished and discrimination has largely been reduced and blacks are more able to live freely as American citizens. In Early 1950 s, blacks did not have civil rights, so they had to fight for their freedom by protesting. In 1955, blacks decided to rally together for social justice and planned a boycott. This boycott became known as the Montgomery Bus Boycott. This boycott was pivotal in the Civil Right Movement by energizing blacks, particularly in the South, to become more involved in politics. The enforcement of the Jim Crow laws was one of the key factors for the Montgomery Bus Boycott, initiated by determined black women. People today know Rosa Parks as the pivotal for the main cause of Montgomery Bus Boycott, but it was not just her, it was also Claudette Colvin. She was one of the four women who got arrested nine months before Parks in March 1955. Colvin s situation was similar to Parks; Colvin refused to give up her seat to a white passenger on a Montgomery bus . Claudette was only fifteen years old at the time of the arrest. She was also a member of the NAACP Youth Council. The NAACP wanted to test the Montgomery Bus System by assigning black women to challenging the Jim Crow law on buses in Montgomery, AL. After her arrest, even though she was a youth, the NAACP thought Colvin would be their key to their rebellion, but could not happen because she later became pregnant. During her pregnancy, Colvin testified in the Montgomery federal court on the hearing of the Browder v. Gayle case. Her performance of that civil disobedience did not spark the bus boycott as Parks did, but did started something that Rosa Parks finished. The elevation of the bus conflict increased on December 1, 1955, when Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat to a white person. There was a law that allowed white bus drivers to expand the whites ... On February 6, 1945 in Saint Ann, Jamaica, Bob Marley was born. His father was a white Englishman and his mother was a black Jamaican. When Marley was ten years old his father died, and at that point his mother moved him to Kingston s Trechtown neighborhood. As a teenager in Kingston he became friends with Bunny Wailer and this is when Marley learned to play music. When Marley was 14 years old he decided to drop out of school so he could learn the welding trade, and at the same time he spent his spare time jamming with Bunny and Ska musician Joe Higgs. In 1962 Bob had recorded his first two singles but neither one of them had received any interest at the time. The following year he began a Ska band with his friend Bunny and Peter Tosh, which was originally called The Teenagers . They then became known as The Wailing Rudeboys and after a few more name changes they eventually came up with simply The Wailers. In 1964 they came out with their earliest Studio One hit which was recorded in the popular rock steady style, Simmer Down. • 19. Common Core State Standards ( Ccss ) Common Core State Standards (CCSS) is a widely debatable topic. Parents, teachers, administration, and even states have taken a stance on what they believe. CCSS is a document created by researchers, teachers, administration, and even the public, stating exactly what each student in grades K 12 should be accomplishing by the end of each level. It is ideally in place for teachers to have a clear understanding of what students are expected to achieve and know by each benchmark test so they can ensure this readiness. Though much thought and exertion has gone into the production and implementation of these standards, many myths have been formulated from them, causing the standards to sound as if they do not have any advantage to our schools ( Understanding the Common Core ). Adopting common standards means bringing all states standards down to the lowest common denominator. This means that states with high standards are actually taking a step backwards by adopting the Common Core ( Utah Core Standards ). This is one of the biggest myths that branch from common core. While this does seem reasonable to believe, it is false. The creators of the criteria looked at the current standards nationally and globally to compose a list from the highest benchmarks available. The new standards not only bring the lower states up, but those with the highest expectations for their students have to bring their schooling to the next level with Common Core in place. This provides the assurance ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 20. Fertility Treatment Research Paper Using Fertility Treatments as a Solution to Infertility Making big choices in life can be difficult, especially if that big choice is having children. There are many men and women who are infertile that still want to have children. Most decide to adopt other children who do not have families or their families do not want them. But when adoption is not an option, there is now a way where those men and women can have their own children together through fertilitytreatments. Fertility treatments could be a good thing:being able to freeze egg and sperm, they can help infertile couples, and avoiding transmitted diseases would be easier. Egg Freezing The more popular and developing method of treatment is egg freezing. During this procedure they take an embryo and freeze it for a month before they place it in a uterus to be later fertilized (Maher). This method was first used for cancer patients. Cancer treatments, like chemotherapy, can damage the ovaries and make it almost impossible for chemo patients to reproduce. Doctors do this procedure by taking an ovary, from the patient before they start their cancer treatments, and slicing it into strips before they freeze it (Though Experimental, Ovarian Tissue Transplants Can Help Some Women Have Children)(see figure 1). On top of the nasal cavity, lies the olfactory epithelium (mucous tissue that covers the cribriform plate and contains the cilia necessary for olfactory receptors). The process starts when air enters the nasal cavity and makes its way to the olfactory receptors. These olfactory receptors are located in the olfactory epithelium and contain many bipolar neurons. These receptors send processes to the epithelium where it divides into 10 to 20 cilia. Molecules of odor then must dissolve in the mucus and stimulate the receptors in the cilia, which detect aromatic molecules. Next, each olfactory receptor cell sends an axon into the olfactory bulb, which is located at the end of the olfactory tract. Here, it forms synapse with dendrites of mitral cells (neurons of olfactory bulb), which takes place in the dendritic and axonal aborizations, called the olfactory glomeruli. From there, the axons travel to the rest of the brain, some terminating in the ipsilateral forebrain and contralateral olfactory bulb. Furthermore, the axons of the olfactory tract project to either the amygdala, piriform cortex (region of limbic cortex) and the entorhinal cortex (region of the limbic cortex). Statistics is the science of collecting, organizing, analyzing, and interpreting data in order to make decisions. The mean of a data set is the sum of the data entries divided by the number of entries. The median of a data set is the value that lies in the middle of the data when the data set is ordered. The mode of a data set is the data entry that occurs with the greatest frequency. Standard deviation is a quantity calculated to indicate the extent of deviation for a group as a whole. The range of a data set is the difference between the maximum and minimum data entries in the set. The temperature regulating centers are discovered in the preoptic area situated in the anterior portion of the hypothalamus. The function of this area is to receive information from temperaturereceptors located in the skin, mucous membranes and also from the central thermoreceptors that monitor the temperature of bloodthat pass through the brain. One of these conflicts is the dispute in South China Sea between China and six neighbor ASEAN countries. With the intervention of the United States, the issue turns to be more serious as it attracts a lot of concerns from international community. This research tries to find a clear way of understanding the South China Sea conflict, specifically about the effort of China and Vietnam to gain the control over the two groups of islands: Paracel and Spratly. What are possible impacts of the outcome of if the United States interferes with the dispute. This research tries to present both sides of the argument on the control over the islands from the Chinese and Vietnamese point of view, but has an emphasis on how the United States plays a vital role in the resolution of this dispute. Chapter 1 Historical Background 1.1 The Spratly and Paracel Islands In order to better understand the dispute of these islands and this body of water, geography plays a role considering the area sea is located to borders on many different regions. According Chmillier Gendreau (2000), the south west of the Indian Ocean, the sea connects with the Straits of Malacca and Singapore. To the north east, the sea connects with the Sea of Japan and the Strait of Korea. The position of this body of water is interconnected with many other bodies of waters which coincide with many countries. The islands residing in the middle of this sea therefore lies in the middle of many different countries. The two islands, Spratly and Paracel Islands lie in the middle of the maritime zone. Since it is in the middle, no neighboring country is really physically connected to these islands by geography (Chemillier Gendreau, 2000, p. 16). • 42. Cons Of Abortion Research Paper To begin, abortion is likely the most popular controversial topic that many people do have very different opinions about so in this essay I am going to attempt to be as open minded as possible. As an introduction to my stance, I am proudly, pro choice. When I was presented with the idea of abortions and began to understand them, it came to my attention that there are thousands of involuntary pregnancies, in America alone, from rape. Yet I am, in no way, trying to single out rape as a reason to refer to abortionas an option. Although, despite the recent light being cast onto rape culture in recent media, there still seem to be an outrageous amount of people undermining what the rape victims want to do with their unborn children. Those with pro life views often focus on the fetus without taking into consideration what the said impregnated woman may want to say on the matter.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I can honestly say, most of the pro life people I ve seen floating around the internet (social media) are male and happen to feel the need to step into the subject of abortion, entirely blind sided as to what the pro choice community has to say, claiming they re saving lives . Women can get abortions from when the child is merely a clump of cells to roughly the size of a soccer ball, depending on the state they reside, and that s how the theme of murder slid into a political position. This theory that aborting a child that essentially resembles a newborn is murder needs to dissipate completely. The mother is necessary for the fetus considering its only way to survive is through her organs therefor; the entire process of pregnancy is entitled to the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 45. Interracial Marriage Should Be Legal Interracial marriages are still considered taboo in many countries in the world and even in the United States. While the opportunity to marry whoever one desires is a reality in America, it is not always common and sometime frowned upon in our communities. Much progress has been made as a country to allow interracial marriages to be successful, but the American population has had difficulty accepting the legal development that has taken place in our nation. Interracial Marriage has been fought throughout our history but is not an unethical relationship in fact it creates avenues to expand our diversity as a human race. Interracial marriage can be defined as the union of two people of different racial or ethical background. Historically interracial marriage has been deemed as an issue in America. With the European powers in charge and a slave based economy, it was important to the early Americans to maintain control over their slaves by whatever means needed. Poor treatment of slaves was a common practice, which included miscegenation or interracial sexual activity, typically by rape. This continued all through US history even after the freeing of their slaves, a result of the US Civil War. Issues of interracial relationships and marriages were not brought to light until the African American civil rights movements began to take place in the 1950s. (International Encyclopedia) Two critical Supreme Court cases have played a major role in interracial relationships in US history. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 46. Cochlear Implant History A cochlear implant is an electronic medical device that does the work of the damaged parts of the cochlea, which is the inner ear, to provide sound signals to the brain. Cochlear implants were a major breakthrough in history. There was now a way for people, who have had little or no benefit from hearing aids, to receive sound. The cochlear implant, which was sometimes called a Bionic Ear could help some people to hear again. In 1972 the first single channel cochlear implant was introduced. This provided many deaf people with better lip reading enhancement. In 1984, a multi channel cochlear implant was introduced. The difference between the single channel and multi channel implant system was that the single channel system only delivered sound ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The speech processor is like a computer, it is usually with the microphone behind the ear. The speech processor analyzes the sound and sends it to the transmitter. The transmitter is worn on the head just behind the ear, it sends coded signals to the implanted receiver just under the skin. The receiver takes the coded electrical signals from the transmitter and takes them to the electrodes which have been surgically implanted in the cochlea. These electrodes then stimulate the auditory nerve and the sensation of sound in recognized. Cochlear implants help provide a sense of sound to an individual who is deaf or hard of hearing. They can help individuals who have hearing loss in both ears or in only one ear. The benefits from a cochlear implant vary depending on whether the individual had hearing loss before or after developing language, the individual s age, or the motivation of the individual. Cochlear implants do not restore normal hearing, but they can help a deaf individual to have an 3 effective representation of sound and help the individual understand speech. Most of the time, individuals tend to hear better with time and practice. Some individuals have benefitted from cochlear implants and some have not. There ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Stigma And Usage Of Recreational Drugs The city of Philadelphia s recent policy changes regarding the stigma and usage of recreational drugs has shown a positive impact on the community through decrease of incarcerations and medical advancements. This essay argues that although state and local policy changes have shown to be more effective than it s predecessor set by the Nixon administration, federal oversight and involvement is still crucial to the success of applying a drug policy onto any type of population. The administration s expectations were simple. ...policymakers believed that harsh law enforcement action against those involved in drug production, distribution and use would lead to an ever diminishing market in controlled drugs such as heroin, cocaine and cannabis, and the eventual achievement of a drug free world, (Global Commission 5). While the administration thought brute force would put a swift end to the increase in drug use, the opposite occurred. Combined with the other nations that pledged alongside the harsh law enforcement action, drug usage increased across the board from 1998 to 2008: Opiates usage by 34.5%, Cocaine rose 27%, and Cannabis rose 8.5% (6). Current drug policies were proving to be ineffective, but the federal government took no immediate action to make changes: An analysis of the last 10 years alone shows a large and growing market. In spite of the increasing evidence that current policies are not achieving their objects, most policymaking bodies at the national and international level have tended to avoid open scrutiny or debate on alternatives (6). When the federal government s approach to handling the growing drug epidemic showed no improvement, local governments started to take power over the situation through the use of state laws, penalties, and city policymaking. Bit Stream Controllers For Wireless Power Transfer System пЂ Bit Stream Controllers for Wireless Power Transfer System Nathan Pyle Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, The University of Auckland, New Zealand Email: npyl999@aucklanduni.ac.nz Abstract This paper presents the original findings of an approach to adopting the bit stream signal to control a system. It contains the initial design process and simulations of a bit stream based PID controller to control and stabilize the output of a proposed Capacitive Power Transfer system in the discrete time domain. Processing The simulated results use MATLAB s Simulink and illustrate the potential performance of the controller. Compared against simulations of a similar nature in continuous time, the bit stream implemented system yields near identical results. • 49. William Shakespeare Concreation To keep a fire from burning out, you must add more wood to feed the flames. To keep a family tree from dying, you must procreate to keep your family name alive. The first seventeen sonnets of William Shakespeare are known as the procreation sonnets, for they discuss the necessity for a man to have offspring. The very first sonnet explains that if he decided not to reproduce, then he is considered selfish for not wanting to share his beauty with the world, and foolish for willingly giving up immortality. If one were to procreate and give their beauty to the world they will be gifted immortality. If one decides not to, then the powerful gift of eternal life will be gone through the grasp of the man s fingers. The metaphor fairest creatures ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, like any glass ornament, they can soon break and lose all of their value. Once every ornament is gone, there will be none left, therefore this man is contributing to a diminishing race. In line eleven, within thine own bud buriest thy content , the beauty which he is keeping to himself, is being destroyed on his own will.
