Melanoma Case Studies
In 2011, there was an estimated 65,647 patients diagnosed with melanoma, and 9,128 deaths from
melanoma in the United States.[1] Rates for new melanoma of the skin have been rising on
average 1.8% each year from 2002 to 2011.[2] It has been estimated that 1 in 75 persons born in the
year 2000 will develop melanomaof the skin during their lifetime.[3] Like most cancers, the
outcome of melanoma depends on the stage at diagnosis, which makes the early detection and
treatment of melanoma important.[4] However, in the United States approximately 80% of
biopsies performed in a primary care setting are benign.[5] Technologies such as RCM may have
the ability to reduce invasive diagnostic procedures such as a biopsy or excision associated with...

John Keats When I Have Fears I May Cease To Be
STYLE ANALYSIS OF WHEN I HAVE FEARS THAT I MAY CEASE TO BE
John Keats was an English poet, born in 1795. He was one of the well known poets of second
generation of Romanticism Era. When I Have Fears I May Cease To Be is an Elizabethan
Sonnet written by him. He has written it soon after his close study about Shakespeare s Works. In
the poem, persona talks about his desires, expectations, dreams, and the feelings he wants to taste,
but he fears that his lifetime won t be long enough to achieve and write them all. The poem
continues by him, trying to find a way out of that fear, and his solution. He perfectly describes his
fear with his style of giving life to words.

He is the one who used the term negative capability for the first time. Negative capability by his
words means ...When man is capable of being in uncertainties. Mysteries, doubts, without any

make sense of it all. The effects of negative capability are seen in the lines 7 8 And think that I

metaphors to tell his feelings as he has done in the line 6 Huge cloudy symbols of a high

stated as faery power . A hyperbole is reflected by a help of metaphor. Not as much as metaphors,
but similes are also used in the sonnet. The line 4 Hold like rich garners the full ripened grain ,
compares language to wheat in a grain bin. Personification of the night with the feature of
turning its starts into a face, creates an image of persona interacting with the night as it was a
real person. The first line of couplet Of the wide world I stand alone helps readers to draw a picture

Bearing a child is the biggest responsibility that will happen in life. Providing time and protection
of the child is a major part. But the most important thing is that they do not become lonely and
forgotten. When being a parent, this is their job, to keep them welcomed and to never forget about
them. In the fragment titled, The Virgin, Sappho uses vivid imagery to show how an apple treehas a

ripening, it is then growing like a child does. How in the beginning of life it goes through
changes in its appearance and size and grows out to who they are today, and become more mature
as time goes on. They become a delightful blessing as they come into the world and grow up.
In line 1, when Sappho uses the words, on a high branch, it is showing that the apple may be
forgotten about because it can be hard to see, since it is so high. It will especially be forgotten
when people from below see the tree. They will not notice it sitting there. Also, in line 2, when

Outline For Women In Ministry Research Paper
THESIS: Should women be permitted to lead religious worship, such as music; should women be
permitted to be a pastor; should women be allowed to hold a high administrative office; should
women be allowed to serve and care for others? Women are human beings, and all humans were
created to serve each other; however, mankind may have culturally set barriers and limitations on
women which would not benefit women to serve in certain roles.

There are various views of women in ministry. Some of these views are very conservative while
others are very liberal and then there are those that trail the middle of the road. There are three
major views, The most conservative view is the traditional view. The traditionalists believe that
male and female were created differently and should hold different roles. They hold strong to
Genesis 3:16, Your desire will be for your husband, and he will rule over you . Another Scripture
that this group uses is 1Timothy 2:12, I do not permit a woman to teach or to assume authority
over a man, she must be quiet (Calagna, Paragraph 4). The second view that is a little less
traditional is the complimentarian view or male leadership view. This view does believe both male
and female were created in the image of God, but the male is still in authority. The women are
permitted to teach other women, children, and sometimes males if they are under the authority of
male leadership (Calagna, Paragraph 5). The third view is pluralism. Those who believe this view
understand that at creation Adam and Eve shared equal authority and submitted to each other. It
was the disobedience in the garden that brought about the curse in which females had to start
submitting to males. When Jesus died on the cross, this curse was broken. Therefore, ministry does
not depend on gender but it depends on one s ability and gifts given from God. (Calagna, Paragraph

National Deficit and National Debt Essay
The growing national deficit is a looming problem in the United States now more than ever. The
national debt is constantly increasing and government spending is out of control. If these issues
are not solved then they could spell disaster for the nation s economy when the infamous debt
ceiling is finally reached. Currently the national policy on the debt is to continue raising the debt
limit until a solution is found that is agreeable between both parties in Congress. The two main
issues of over spending and the constant raising of the debts ceiling by Congress can both be
resolved by government spending reform, balancing the federal budget and initiating pro growth
policies in order to increase the government s tax revenue. The debt... Show more content on

The other issue that is facing the American government is overspending. Overspending is a
pertinent problem facing the lawmakers in Congress. In 2012 discretionary spending reached $1.3
trillion and mandatory spending $2 trillion, while only bringing in $2.5 trillion in revenue. Since
the turn of the century back in 2000, non mandatory spending by the government has topped out a
whopping $16.1 trillion just in the past 13 years (Boccia, Frasser Goff 2013). This persistent
overspending on programs and services that are not necessary to the functionality of the country is
what is causing the deficit to rise year after year. To remedy this issue the government must either
increase the revenue it brings in through taxes and trade or reduce the amount of money it spend or
perhaps even both. In 2012 thirty one cents of every dollar that Washington spent was borrowed
(Boccia, Frasser Goff 2013). Most of which went to large programs such as Social Security and
Medicare and if these large, growing programs, or just the budget in general, do not undergo
financial reform it could spell disaster for the economy and fiscal state of the nation. Government
spending in the United States needs to change and it needs to change soon. As mentioned earlier, in
2012 nearly a third of governments budget

Iconoclasm In The Byzantine Empire
When researching iconoclasm during the Byzantine Empire and today s Middle East, one can
easily see the end result of the two ages is similar the destruction of valuable religious artwork.
However it is important to analyze the reasons and intent behind the destruction. By doing this, a
person can better understand the motivation for the artwork s destruction and even determine if
history should treat the two eras differently.
With respect to the Byzantine era, the reason behind the destruction of icons was a theological
debate within the Christian religion. During this time, the creation of icons was believed to be
divinely inspired by God. Iconophiles, those that like and approve of icons, were devout
Christian s who prayed at an icon because of what it represented God. However Iconoclasts, those
who work to destroy icons, were also devout Christians. Iconoclasts feared that in praying before
the icons Christians were actually worshiping the icons. They were concerned that Iconophiles
believed the icons had the ability to perform miracles. In this way the use of icons became idol
worship and was against God s commandment and must be destroyed. In fact, when ... Show more

The Meanings of Madame Bovary Essay
The Meanings of Madame Bovary
Madame Bovary is the portrait of a woman trapped in an unsatisfactory marriage in a prosaic
bourgeois town. Her attempts to escape the monotony of her life through adulterous liaisons with
other men are ultimately thwarted by the reality that the men she has chosen are shallow and self
centered and that she has overstretched herself financially. In despair, Emma resolves her
predicament by taking her own life.
What should we make of this rather slight story, initially based on the life of a real woman who,
like Emma, scandalized her village with her affairs with other men and her extravagant lifestyle?
Is there a lesson or a moral to be drawn from Emma s folly and the tragedy of her death? Part ...

The challenge today s readers are left with is how to make sense of Emma s story.
A common interpretation of the novel maintains that Emma Bovary s downfall is due to the fact
that she is both foolish and romantically inclined. Emma comes to a tragic end because she has
been self dramatizing and impulsive and, above all, because she has believed in the ideals of the
Romantic literature of which she has been an avid consumer since adolescence. This is the view
adopted by many critics who have viewed Emma as mediocre and trite, her dreams shoddy, second
hand and second rate. The literary critic Allen Tate, for example, described Emma as a `silly, sad
and hysterical woman
(quoted in Brombert: 1966, p.84). For further discussion of this reading click on Emma: Victim
of her own Romanticism. Another view holds that Emma is an essentially tragic figure, a figure
of epic proportions whose ideals are thwarted by a petty and money grabbing society. The poet
and critic Charles Baudelaire, however, saw Emma as a heroic creation and described her as
`trГЁs sublime dans son espГЁce, dans son petit milieu et en face de son petit horizon (Baudelaire:
1976, p.83). She is a truly epic heroine in thrall to an excessive but splendid passion. She has heroic

Supporting Influences in the Process of Special Education
How does the role of the Response to Intervention process (RTI), and the Positive Behavior
Interventions and Support (PBIS) structure influence the pre referral process for special
education? In today s time it is of common practice to use the RTI method for academic issues.
Likewise, the PBIS framework is used for issues dealing with unfavorable characteristics in
student behavior. Each method is widely known and looked on as a favorable approach. Both
RTI and PBIS are very important in addressing students during the pre referral process, and each
plays a very significant role. In the following essay the aforementioned question of their role and
influence will be explored and answered. In addressing the role of the Response to Intervention
process (RTI), one must first become familiar with the premise of this process. RTI is a method
that is used to address school aged children that are showing evidence of academic struggle. At the
beginning of the pre referral process, educators identify struggling pupils. Following this
identification, these same teachers begin to explore several avenues of remediation through highly
recommended research based approaches. An approach is selected, implemented, and the child s
progress is documented fully. If solid evidence of success is discovered, through the
implementation of a given program, then the process is concluded because success has been met.
However, if there is solid evidence that proves that the program is unsuccessful then

Baseball, America s Pastime
Baseball is referred to as America s Pastime. Many people argue it is one of the hardest sports to
succeed in. Out of the four major sports in the United States, hitting a 95 mile per hour fastball is
a goal only few can accomplish at a professional level. With only 750 players throughout 30 Major
League Baseball(MLB) teams, the odds of making it to The Show are highly unlikely. To make it
to the big leagues as an African Americanplayer was an even harder feat to accomplish in the mid
to late 1900 s. Baseballs Greatest Experiment tells the story of how MLB was an all white mans
game up until the death of Commissioner Kennesaw Mountain Landis in 1944. Team owners and
the commissioner did not want to integrate African Americans into the MLB; some experts argued
that the absence of blacks in the majors stemmed from their lack of talent, intelligence and desire (
Tygiel, 32). Since Jackie Robinsonovercame many obstacles, baseball players and fans alike can
argue that he paved the way for African Americans in baseball and challenged societal social
structure. As African Americans started to make names for themselves in other sports such as the
boxer Joe Louis, people questioned why African Americans were not allowed to play baseball.
Tygiel brought it to attention that, the emergence of Joe Louis as the world heavyweight boxing
champion and a national hero led many American s to re evaluate their prejudices ( Tygiel, 35). As

The Struggle For Political Balance
Delaney Reed Mrs. Barcroft AP Government 9 October 2015 The Struggle for Political Balance
Americans were known as a pioneering people who would struggle and fight to build for
themselves. A people who pushed the entire world into a new era and has continued to push the
limits of technology, military, and culture. After Britain finally surrendered the colonies to the
American citizens a new republican experiment was conducted. One that is still going on to this
very day and every citizen of America is a part of this grand experiment. The British Colonies were
independent from one another before the American Revolution, but a shared enemy began a strong
bond between the states. After things settled down the states were allied with one another in a form
of confederation and then finally under the Constitution as a united republic nation. There were
those who were not completely for a strong central government and favored the confederate style,
but there were also those who found comfort and strength in a centralized federal government. This
federalist versus anti federalist debate has continued throughout all of American history each side
with its strengths and weaknesses. The development of the debate and increase in federalism in
American government can be highlighted by the doctrine of implied powers, commerce clause, the
American Civil War, and the struggle for civil rights. Chief Justice Marshall was a pioneer for
setting government precedents and advocated for a

Topic Introduction
Everyday both adults and children play video games. Some people argue that video games have
many negative effects including poor eyesight and inattention. The TED talk by Daphne Bavelier
(2012) discusses some of the current research regarding the effect video games have on your brain.
Bavelier (2012) talks more specifically about the effects of action video games such as Call of
Duty: Black Ops and similarly formatted games on a person s vision and attention span. This paper
will explore both the TED talk by Bavelier (2012) and other relevant research on the subject.
Description
On average, 90% of school aged individuals and 70% of head of households with a median age of
33, play video games. General wisdom says that playing video games leads to poor eyesight and
greater attention deficits with higher rates of distractibility. Bavelier (2012) states that research
does not support general wisdom and even refutes it strongly under certain conditions. Bavelier s
research has shown that people who play action games such as Call of Duty, actually have better
eyesight in at least 2 conditions and are also able to switch attention much more swiftly and with
fewer deficits than

Obesity In Huntington s Obese City
In recent years, information about how our food choices affect our health has started to emerge in
popular society. The outrageous percentage of people suffering with diseases such as obesity,
diabetes and asthma has people asking questions and looking for causes (and solutions). Television
shows such as Jamie Oliver s FoodRevolution, in which one ambitious English chef sets out to
make the most obese city in America healthier, explains just how serious these problems have
become. The scenic city of Huntington, WV has been the key driving force of his movement.
This city is only a few miles from where I live. The most obese city in America. The state of West
Virginia, has been the most obese state in the United States from 2010 through 2012. Overall,
obesity in the U.S. has increased from 26.2 percent in 2012 to 27.1 percent in 2013; the obesity
rate was 25.5 percent in 2008 (Huffington post, 2014). This continuously increasing current global
issue effects our society, our landscape and our cities. As designers it is our responsibility to
understand our environment s current problems and develop solutions to improve the lives of
everyday people. To find solutions to this global issue Architecture is now part of the national

Bipolar and unipolar are two different disorders that affect millions of people; however, there are

According to Comer (2003), The symptoms, which often feed upon one another, span five areas
of functioning, emotional, motivational, behavioral, cognitive, and physical. (Chapter 7, p.
195). People who suffer from these symptoms begin to have problems with just possessing the
will power to arise out of bed each morning and go about their daily activities, and sometimes
these symptoms can become so severe that a person may even begin to think of committing
suicide. According to Comer (2003), Between 5 and 10 percent of adults in the United States
suffer from a severe unipolar pattern of depression in any given year, while another 3 to 5 percent
suffer from mild forms (Chapter 7, p. 194). However, unipolar disorder can be caused by different
factors, one of them being a genetic factor.
Factors of Unipolar Studies have shown that unipolar disorder can have a genetic basis. According
to (Dombeck, 2010), Among the general population, Major Depressive Disorder is 1.5 to 3 times
more common among first degree biological relatives of affected individuals than it is among
other less related individuals. (Genetics, para. 2). This is not saying that a person has depression
genes, but that a person from a family with a parent or sibling that has unipolar disorder, has a
higher tendency to have unipolar disorder. However, there also can be biochemical factors that can
cause a person to have unipolar disorder, and outside factors, like stress, bring out this

also known as the War Between States , began in 1861 and lasted for four deadly years. This war
of disputes and misery led to the division of the two nations, the North and the South. The three
main causes of the Civil War between the North and the South were politics, economy, and slavery.
The first main cause of the Civil War was conflict between the North and the South about politics.
During the election of 1860, Abraham Lincolnwas a candidate of the North while J.C. Breckinridge
was the candidate of the South. Abraham Lincoln successfully won with 180 electoral votes.
This caused tension between the North and the South because Abraham Lincoln was against the
expansion of slavery (Doc N). The Kansas Nebraska Act is an example of this. The Missouri
Compromise Line of 1820 was repealed when the Kansas Nebraska Act of 1845 was passed. The
act organized territories on the principle of popular sovereignty. This created a lot of stir between
the two nations. In a cartoon created by Harry T. Peters in 1856, it is shown that Preston Brooks, a
member of the House of Representatives, attacking Senator Charles Sumner, an abolitionist from
Massachusetts, with a cane. This happened after Sumner attacked

Biblical Words Related On Counseling
Biblical Words Related to Counseling This portion of the presented literature examines three
Biblical words related to counseling. The words being examined in this portion consist of counsel,
wisdom, and help. These words will be examined using Blue Letter Bible (2012), Strong s
Concordance, and Vine s Expository Dictionary of New Testament Words. The theme associated
with Biblical words related to counseling unified in concept. This concept is the liberation, or
victory, from troubles and sin to becoming wise through counsel from God, or spiritually mature
counselees.
Counsel
According to BlueLetterBible.org, the word counsel appears 74 times in the New American
Standard Bible (Blue Letter Bible, 2012). However, due to several translations, the word counsel
can be found in the Bible over 200 times (Blue Letter Bible, 2012). In the other fourteen versions
of the Bible listed on BlueLetterBible.org, the primary word counsel can be seen from twenty four
times to one hundred and thirty nine times (Blue Letter Bible, 2012). The New American Standard
Bible holds seventeen Hebraic version of the word counsel (Blue Letter Bible, 2012). Strong s
Number matches the most frequent Hebraic translation of counsel, ya`ats, eighty eight times in
seventy four verses in the Hebrew concordance of the New American Standard Bible (Blue Letter
Bible, 2012). The word ya tas is commonly used as a verb, yet frequently translates to counsel,

Biosphere Water Ecosystem Research Paper
4.02 The Biosphere, Water Ecosystem
Choose one specific lake, river, sea or bay. You will be researching biotic and abiotic factors about
that lake ecosystem.
Name of lake/river/sea/bay: Lake Superior
Location: Lake Superior is located in North America.
Geography (describe the land that surrounds your body of water):
Lake Superior is the largest fresh water lake in the world by surface area and the third largest in the
world by volume. Lake Superior is very cold so it causes the land surrounding it to be cold as well.
Most of the land surrounding the lake is heavily forested. Many people choose not to farm around
the lake because it is very cold and not good for the crops and the soil is not very well.
Climate in that area: Lake Superior is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
What lives there? (give 2 examples of plants and 2 examples of animals that live there. For each,
explain how it is adapted to survive in this particular type of ecosystem): Plant#1: The White Pine
Tree has adapted to the climate with the help of humans and other natural forces
Plant #2: Flowering Rush Tree was original grown in the region of the great lakes so it did not
have to do much adapting.
Animal #1: The Wood Frog is cold blooded so its blood changes when the temperature changes.
They are specially adapted for cold northern winters. Their bodies create a natural anti freeze that
allows them to survive while they are hibernating.
Animal#2: The bloater fish adapts to the climate of Lake Superior adapts to survive by growing
into a bigger size when the temperature gets colder.
Current Research and/or your predictions on the effects of climate change on the body of water

The Impact Of Climate Change On Rising Sea Levels
Research Paper
The Impact of Climate Change on Rising Sea Levels
Over the past century, changes in the climate have affected our sea levels. From global warming to
man made causes, these factors contribute into one of the most predictable catastrophic disasters.
While rising sea levels can lead to a flooding disaster, there are other consequences that are impacted
due to this component that can affect the whole planet.
Changes in the climate have been an on going critical issue that has been affecting the present time
and near future. One of the causes that has contributed to climate change and rising sea levels is
global warming. Global warming, the gradual heating of Earth s surface, oceans and atmosphere
(Bradford) has caused warmer temperatures, leading to a growth in earths average temperature.
Earth s average temperature has risen by 1.4 degrees Fahrenheit, over the past century, according to
the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) (Bradford). Many might say that 1.4 degrees is quite
a small number, but the issue here isn t with the number of degrees is going up but rather with the
extra energy the earth is having to do it is causing those drastic changes in our weather.
As this continues to occur, not only is our atmosphere getting warmer but by doing so, so is our
water. And since our oceans water help absorb most of the excess heat our atmosphere creates,
when it absorbs too much heat (making the water warmer) it affects the lives of the animals

Federal Jurisdiction Essay
Federal Jurisdiction
Abstract
In this paper I will discuss a case involving Henry, a resident of Nevada, who sued Adam, a
resident of Utah in the Federal Court in California. Henry sought $60,000 damages for personal
injuries arising from an automobile accident that occurred in Los Angeles, California. I will answer
the following questions about this case. Does the Federal Court have jurisdiction? What rules of
procedure will the court use? Why? And what rules of substantive law will the court use? One of
the most essential questions of law is whether a given court has jurisdiction to preside over a given
case. Jurisdiction means the power to hear a case. Many courts ... Show more content on

A federal court would not have jurisdiction. The plaintiff would have to find a subordinate court to
rule on the case, following laws appropriate to where the occurrence happened.
Since the occurrence happened in LA, the defendant can be sued there. Because the defendant
resides in Utah, he could be sued there as well. Depending on the specific structure of the Utah,
California, and Nevada state s court system, trial courts may be city/municipal courts, justice of
the peace, county/circuit courts, or even regional trial courts. Unless the defendant could be
served while moving through Nevada, California would probably be the best place to initially file.
Given the conditions of this case, specific trial would most likely be conducted in a California trial
court or the defendant s home jurisdiction, The plaintiff may find one or the other more suitable. In
my opinion, selection of the defendant s home town as the venue would likely be less beneficial to
the plaintiff.
Rules of Procedure
If parties are involved in a car accident in Los Angeles, he or she will usually file a lawsuit in the
Superior Court of California, County of Los Angeles. This is because this typically falls under
the authority or jurisdiction of state courts in the county where the injury happened, or where
persons involved in the occurrence are located. The rules of procedure for this case would most
likely follow California s Civil Procedures. The Civil Code of California

The Impact Of Corruption In Mexico
Mexico is the eleventh most populated country in the world with a $2.2 trillion economy (CIA,
2017). It is also an extremely popular tourist destination for Americans and Europeans alike.
Moreover, its people have had the highest average annual hours worked in the world every year for
the last three years (OECD, 2017). Despite this, their unemployment rate is estimated to be 3.6%
and their underemployment at 25% (CIA, 2017). I am going to expand on this country s issues with
corruption, organized crime, violence, the economy, and how I assess their future will affects us
here in the United States.
Like many countries in turmoil, corruption is and has been a big part of Mexico s political scene,
especially with domestic criminal organizations such as the drug cartels. Mexico s politicians have
not only stolen public funds but they have also made complicit agreements with multiple drug
cartels. Mexico ranks No. 123 in Transparency International s 2016 Corruption Perception Index, 25
spots lower than the year before. Analysts say it s unclear whether corruption has gotten worse
or has merely become more visible because of transparency laws, journalists increasingly
uncovering graft and social media exposing politicians excesses (Agren, 2017). In recent years
there have been multiple Mexican politicians prosecuted and arrested due to their illegal dealings
but the cycle just continues with their successors. Take Javier Duarte for example, who was the
governor of Veracruz State from 2010 to 2016 and managed to steal $3 billion from public funds
meanwhile violence spread throughout the state. The violence was so severe that mass graves with
250 skulls were discovered and at least 17 journalists were murdered during his tenure (Agren,
2017). Additionally, the two former Tamaulipas State governors were both indicted for their
involvement in illicit activities. The former governor, TomГЎs Yarrington, was accused of taking
bribes from both the Zetas Cartel and the Gulf Cartel; meanwhile in 2015 his successor, Eugenio
HernГЎndez, was indicted in Texas on federal money laundering charges (Agren, 2017).

Essay On Genetic Change
( removed HTML ) How is the Field of Human Genetics Changing? ( removed HTML )
Compared to just fifteen years ago the applications and horizons of genetic science have expanded
enormously, far beyond simply describing how DNA contributes to the formation of life here on
earth. The most important practical advances have built on the completion of the Human Genome
Project in 2003, started in 1990. At the associated research cost of over $3 billion US dollars
(c.$2.7 billion actual), a combined research initiative succeeded in fully sequencing the genomic
makeup of one human.

The complete implications and structure of our individual, unique genetic codes are still not
fully understood. However, genetic sequencing and research in the biological sciences have
opened up the potential to diagnose and treat genetic illnesses and key health vulnerabilities
through sequencing analysis at all stages of life. Doctors are better placed to identify the root
genetic causes of disorders and illnesses, as advances in associating certain bits of genetic code
to certain outcomes have expanded the number of known genetic links to maladies from 60 in
1990 to over 5000 (as of 2013). Future analysis of so called junk DNA with no obvious associations
to gene expression will form a large part of raising that number even further.
Individual genomic analysis allows for better targeted medication and the identification of tumor
causing DNA code. Pre natal genetic screening for genetic disorders and disabilities in a fetus can
also be performed via blood testing, reducing the need for other, invasive forms of medical testing.
The newly developed gene editing tool, CRISPR, also offers the possibility of eliminating or
changing defective genomic sections easily. While designer babies may still be science fiction,
these recent advances in genetic technology have taken us much closer to the possibility and ethical
implications of creating bespoke human beings.
From this, it seems that genetic

The most compelling evidence of this is in Pokemon Red/Blue where as you enter Lavender

Paul Tarsus Letter
Introduction:
What are the origins of the Early Church and how do these impact on us as Christians in a
community? Paul the Apostle, originally known as Saul of Tarsus, was an apostle who travelled
the world teaching the gospel of Christ to the first century world. He is generally considered one
of the most important figures of the Apostolic Age. In this speech I will inform you about Paul s
early life, Pauls Journeys and his letters.
The World behind the Text:
The purpose of Pauls Letters were to keep in contact with the churches and to resolve any problems
or questions they had. Paul mainly wrote to communicate with distant churches, to encourage, to
persuade, to inform and to respond to events that he had heard about. Paul s writings formulated key
teachings about the nature of the Church. He taught about how Christ lived in them and by their
baptism and the Holy Spirit they were able to contribute to the Christian community. Paul mainly
wrote about the issues in society and how to help the churches when they were in need. Paul didn t

He wrote these letters to clarify the expectations of Christians, regarding circumcision.
As many of you as were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. There is no
longer Jew or Greek, there is no longer slave or free, there is no longer male and female; for all of
you are one in Christ Jesus. And if you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham s offspring, heirs
according to the promise.
The closing verse reaffirms this: Abraham s offspring, Heirs according to the promise. Therefore,
being Christ s they are also children of Abraham, because being Christ s has removed all other
differences. Paul was making the point that it is not circumcision that brings the Gentiles to Christ

Free Will In St. Augustine s Confessions
The possession of free will in St. Augustine s Confessions is significant because it allows an
individual to make choices that would be considered sinful. In the midst of Augustine s journey to
become closer to god, Augustine becomes familiarized with one of his weaknesses that hinders his
ability to become closer to god, Augustine s desire for sex. Being first acquainted with sex during
his teenage years, a life without sex is unimaginable for Augustine. To ease his tensions, Augustine
engages with his mistress and ends up having a child. Upon Augustine s engagement, his mistress
moves away to Africa, and in order to compensate for his loss, Augustine gets another mistress.

However, a closer examination of Monica reveals that women, when given the role of
motherhood, lead Augustine to his faith. By first converting Augustine s pagan father, Monica
wanted Augustine to become a Christian. This is primarily why she postpones his baptism to a
later date, hoping Augustine would become purified after committing all of his sins. Upon
hearing the news of Augustine trying to seek the truth, Monica according to Augustine says she
believed before she left this life she would see me a faithful Catholic (Confessions 6.1).
Confessions starts off by Augustine questioning God for his lack of presence, and hopes to
submit to God after confessing his sins. Augustine has the ability to omit every aspect which
would bring him closer to God, except his desire for sex. Those who provide him sex, are his
mistresses, and while doing so, place Augustine on a road which leads him away from God.
However, these female characters have not taken a significant role, they are just depictions of the
stereotypical and misogynistic perceptions of women. Monica is more than overwhelmed to
extinguish Augustine s search for the truth. Her efforts praying for the salvation of Augustine comes
to existence towards the end of Confessions, when Augustine accepts Christianity. Thus, when
women are given the status of mothers, they

The Role of a Nurse
1.1
Analyse the Role of the Nurse
The complex nature of nursing means that there is no single definition that encompasses every
aspect of the role of the nurse. A nurse is required to have several attributes and skills to carry out
their everyday duties; they must show compassion, empathy, excellent communication skills both
verbal and non verbal. In some cases nurses are also required to become advocators for patients
who are not able to communicate for themselves. A nurse is also required to be non prejudice and
understand and acknowledge other cultures and beliefs, for example some religions do not believe
in blood transfusions, as a nurse it is important not to judge when faced with such a dilemma.

Working under supervision is equally as important as working in a team when it comes to nursing.
It is important because a nurse is required to be competent in everything she/he does. Therefore it
is beneficial as support is provided from a senior more experienced member of staff who is able to
guide and monitor junior members of the team. Monitoring the level of care/service provided to

Explain a range of ethical and moral dilemmas faced by a nurse.
Nurses face a wide range of ethical and moral dilemmas throughout their career. Ethical dilemmas
are situations in which there are conflicting moral claims. In some of these situations people do not
know what the ethically right thing to do is. They do not agree about the ethically right thing to do
and often cannot find satisfactory solutions or there are two equally unsatisfactory solutions. Or
they may know what the ethically right thing to do is, but do not want to act on this.
Do not resuscitate is becoming an increasingly common ethical dilemma. Some patients would
prefer not to be resuscitated where as others may decide otherwise. Recent cases have highlighted

Snow White And The Huntsman Film Techniques
The film Snow White and the Huntsman depicts the journey between the two main characters
Snow White and Ravenna the evil Queen. Snow White, who is played by Kristen Stewart for
majority of the film, has been locked in her slain father s castle for years. The character is
imprisoned by her father s evil second wife played by Charlize Theron, whose now queen. The
Queen also lives in fear of losing of her young appearance and uses the blood of virgins to restore
it. She tests the success of this with the well known mirror on the wall. When the magic mirror
reveals that Snow White is the source of her immortality, the queen seeks to kill Snow White. In
Snow White and the Huntsman many patterns are used like the camera shots of the film,
lighting and color. The pattern of camera shots is seen throughout the movie using close ups
shots and wide range shots. For example, when Snow White fled from the castle and is chased
by the Queen s horsemen into the Dark Forest, there are close up shots of medieval like armor
enforcing the idea that the film is not in modern day and the action of the film will be done with
weapons like swords and axes. Close up shots of Snow White and Ravenna dictates who is in
power and who is not. The shots show Snow White wearing peasant s clothing, whereas the Queen
wears jewelry, expensive clothes and a crown. Wide range shots are shown in film with vast plains,
castles and battles giving a sense of realism to the setting. Lighting is another pattern

therefore Nicholas II inherited the role of Tsar after his father passed away from kidney

Tsar Nicholas II was a problem for the social, political and economic well being of the early
Twentieth Century Russia.
Russia s backwards economy:
Nicholas II was raised watching his father rule autocratically. He was not prepared by no means to

With no workers, Russia was put under pressure as this meant no transport, schools, shops and
factories were in working order. They banded together for many destructive acts such as rioting,
stealing, street performances and destroying Tsarist authoritative symbols. This was a political
issue for Russia as workers were fighting for their rights.
October Manifesto:
Nicholas II introduced the October Manifesto on the 30th of October, 1905. Once the October
Manifesto was introduced to the people, they believed he was making a step in the right
direction. This piece of paper, written by Sergey Witte, promised political reforms after ten
months of strikes, a lot of political debate and attacks of violence. Little did the people of Russia
realise that this was the Tsar Nicholas II s plan to please, however he had no intentions of acting on
this or changing his ways.

The Palestinian economy, due to the route of the wall, has suffered tremendously. The
displacement of Palestinian civilians has been a major contributor to this issue. New rules and
regulations require citizens who live in the territory between the green line must apply for a series
of permits that would allow them to live, drive, and work in the zone in which they are entrapped
(Roy 34). Therefore, as Theirry Delbreuve said, ...agricultural communities were losing contact with
the land on which they depended both for their present livelihood and for their future survival
(United Nations Page 2). Palestine s economy has suffered tremendously, because Israel has made
it possible through the construction of the wall to have full control over Palestinian s resources,
such as land, water, and labor. This in turn has created Palestinian economic dependence on and

The Importance of North Dakota History
Throughout the streets of Portland stands the walls of a house that saw some of North Dakota s

Grappling With Grief By The Survivor Essay
Grappling with Grief Guilt is perhaps the most painful companion of death, (Brainyquote.com,
2016). Life in this day and age may often seem unkind, society is inherently violent, as
demonstrated in popular films and television series. Many individuals seek to obtain professions
that require the employee to regularly stake their own livelihood and safety on the line.
Accompanied by the risk necessary to earn nominal wages, exists the probability that friends and
co workers, with whom one may have developed a personal closeness and affection, will from
time to time be injured and killed in the line of duty. With added longevity in that career, death
comes part and parcel. Chalking it up to being the nature of the beast, may be a successful
defensive posture for a period of time. For many people, however, the day will inevitably come
when reflection and introspection become more frequent, guilt sets in for having lived while
many others perished. The fairness of life being called into question by the survivor, the long
term psychological effects become insurmountable (Goodtherapy.org, 2016). The bereavement
just described is a condition known as survivor s guilt, and is just one of many symptoms that
can be expected when grappling with loss of life complexities. Conceptually, death is often
regarded as somewhat of a forbidden topic; this attitude may lend itself to limited awareness of
grieving processes that can cripple the bereaved. Regardless of career choice, death is

Differences Between Tweedledland And Alice In Wonderland
The original book of Alice s Adventures in Wonderland, by Lewis Carroll, has many differences
within the plot when compared to the 1951 Disney movie adaptation. One of the differences
between these two adaptations is that in the book, Tweedledee and Tweedledum never appear or are
mentioned. In the movie, Tweedledee and Tweedledum are included. This makes the reader
/audience understand the text differently because there are more characters incorporated into the
movie that change the plot. Adding new characters to the movie change the significance of those
characters, because they add new dialogue and actions to the plot. Another plot difference between
these two adaptations has to do with the caterpillar. In the book, the caterpillar crawls away from
Alice. However, the caterpillar turns into a butterfly in the movie. This is significant to the plot in
both the movie and book, because they symbolize different things. The caterpillar turning into a
butterfly signifies how much he has grown throughout the movie, and it s finally his time to leave.
The caterpillar turning into a butterfly in the movie adds more significance to the plot, because he
is transforming into something new. Whereas, the book simply has the caterpillar crawl away. One
of the last differences between these two adaptations is that in the movie no one could see the cat,
except for Alice. This makes the audience understand the text differently, because the cat has more
of a specific meaning to the movie.

How Does Barbie Affect Society
Barbie s Effect on Society
Was Barbie s actual purpose to simply be an innocent toy for kids or was it really to create an
unrealistic expectation for girls? Barbie exploded with popularity and developed an unhealthy
body image for young girls. From her tiny waist to her seemingly perfect lifestyle, it definitely
looked like Barbie had it all. While there being many negative attributes to the doll, she opened
the idea that girls do not need to settle for being simply a generic housewife. Barbie s original
design was from a German comic strip character named Lilli. A woman named Ruth Handlercame
up with all the ideas for the doll, even though she was the complete opposite of Barbie. She saw
Lilli in a store window and bought the rights to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the 1960s Mattel debuted the Slumber Party Barbie (Eating Disorders 3). The worst of it all
seemed to be the scale only went up to 110 pounds, giving young girls the idea that weighing
more than this was wrong. This doll came with a scale and dieting books that told girls not to eat.
Studies have shown that girls who are only six years old and play with Barbies consume less food
than girls who play with more realistic dolls.
The doll also influenced young girls lives in a materialistic way within only a short period of
time after she was released. Barbie s wardrobe was extensive, perfectly accessorized, and updated
frequently. Girls wanted to run to the store and buy more clothes for the doll and themselves. Not
to mention she had two houses, a nice car, pools, jacuzzis, dogs, and horses. It seems almost
impossible that impressionable young girls could ever be content with their life again after seeing

The History of Celtic Music and Instruments
Throughout Celtic culture and history music is an extremely important aspect of life. The Celts had
a variety of instruments and holidays that they would play songs of joy and fun. Often times they
would call this music, Folk Music as it was mostly among the people of the nations of Ireland,
Wales, and Scotland. Continue for 2 3 sentences.
In Celtic culture several instruments were commonly used centuries ago in taverns and inns. The
lute is an ancient stringed instrument that is used very often in Traditional Celtic Folk Music. It

One special holiday that is celebrated by the Scottish is called The Turn of the Celtic Year and is
the changing of fall to winter and is celebrated by the Scottish. In an article written by John
Burnside it reads, At October s end, I found myself with an international group that began
discussing the different ways in which people observed Halloween, or All Saints Eve, or el DГa de
los Muertos, or as I pointed out to everyone s surprise the Scottish festival Samhuinn, which marks
the turn of the Celtic year and the beginning of winter. (Burnside, 2016). This shows that even
though the world may not know of certain holidays the Celts enjoyed celebrating at almost any
given moment. Saint Patrick s Day is a holiday that most of the world knows and enjoys as well
even though its origins come from Ireland. In an article written by Patrick Hicks known as
Shamrocks on a Prairie, it states, Whenever I mingle with Americans of Irish descent their
representation of the Emerald Isle usually feels like a colorful description of Atlantis. The Ireland
that many Irish Americans believe in the one they hoist pints to every Saint Patrick s Day is a
fantasy unmoored from reality. (Hicks,

The Impact Of The Salem Witch Trials
The Salem Witch Hunt
Introduction
The Salem Witch Trials is a term that is used to refer to a series of different witchcraft cases that
were taken to the local magistrates of a region known as Salem that happened to be considered as a
part of the Massachusetts Bay colony in the 17th Century (Roach and Rosenthal 925). Additionally,
it is important to note that the Salem Witch Trials have been considered to be amongst some of the
darkest periods in the American trial history. The reason why the trails were considered to be
amongst the worst trials in the American history is brought out by the fact that over two hundred
individuals were taken to court and collectively accused as witches (Baker 34). The end of the
trials saw a total of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is important to note that in the 17th century, people from Massachusetts were exposed to a kind of
fear that was linked to the Devil and being constantly portrayed as always finding for all possible
ways to infiltrate and interfere with Christianity in the American society (Clark and Aronson 401).
In connection to this, it is important to understand that the Salem community was one of the
strongly religious communities living that lived in near isolation and to some extent, in its own
New World where the sense of fearing the devil had been made a part of the society. The fear that
the community living in this area had was triggered when Tituba, one of the accused witches went
on to confess that she was working for the devil (Martin and Bascle 70). The confession that was
made led to the development of hysteria and panic in the region making the region to devote their
efforts to a massive witch hunt. In this, it is important to note that despite there being some
contributing factors in the witch hunt, the confession that was made by Tituba is always
considered to be the main reason why the Salem Witch Trial came to being. During the trial period,
the Massachusetts Bay colonists had initially engaged in the process of convicting individuals for
engaging in witchcraft for some time with one of the conviction that he made is that of Margaret
Jones, that took place in 1648

The Indian Act and residential school
The Indian Act of 1876 and many of its amending statutes contained sections that were
discriminatory towards Canadian Native Indians, and that legalized suppression of Indian customs
and traditions. In this paper, I will examine how one section of the Act, the one relating to
residential schools, contributed to the genocide of Indian culture. Ever since the first Europeans
set foot on Canadian soil in the 15th century, they have thought their culture and way of life was
superior to that of the Native North Americans. Initially the Europeans relied upon the Indians to
show them how to travel and survive in the wilds of Canada. They also were dependent on Indians
as trading partners and as military allies. However, as more settlers arrived... Show more content on

At the same time, those teachers tried to instill the white man s ways into them. The whole
concept of teaching in the residential schools was countering the traditional native lifestyle.
Native children had always learned through interacting with, emulating, and observing their
parents and elders. There was no structured educational system as there was in the schools.
Parents thought that you ...don t [want to] explain too much or you ll take away the opportunity
to learn. (Goulet, 1998) Discipline was another philosophy foreign to the Aboriginal peoples of
Canada. Native parents would let their children discover how to go about doing things by
making mistakes on their own. If a child tried something and it did not work out, the child
would suffer the natural consequences of their error and try to find a better way next time. The
entire concept of striking a child was completely unheard of and was thought to be extremely
inappropriate and unnecessary. At both Mopass and the Ontario school, these were common
practices, as was starving children and taking away their privileges. King (1967), for example
describes a situation: They starved us up there! We got one egg a year at Easter. The rest of the
time we got dogfood mush [corn meal] and skim milk. Them in the staff dining room, though, they
got bacon and eggs everyday. We never saw fruit from one Christmas to the next, but they sure had
it. Why some of those kids just starved to death. One year there was

The Benefits of Social Security
Social security is any government system that provides monetary assistance to people with an
inadequate or no income. The United States government program was established in 1935. Social
security is important in the U.S. because it lifts 20 million people out of poverty. Social security
has changed drastically in the past few years of our society. Today, 37 million people get social
securitybenefits of more than $15 billion a month.
One way of getting a social security is to gain employment. The law requires every employer to
give social security counterparts for their employees, is they qualify. There are proven benefits of
having a Social Security membership. It aids in protection during retirement age, which is often a
time of lowered income and benefits. Social Security also helps during cases of permanent or
temporary disability. In case of death of the principal member, burial assistance will be tendered
for the grieving family. When loss of the principal member occurs, children aging from 18 and
below will get subsidy from the government for their educational needs and sustenance. The living
spouse will also receive monthly pensions. Furthermore, in cases of emergencies like
hospitalization due to sickness or accidents, the policy is applicable. If you are also in dire need of
additional amount because of poverty it can help too.
More and more talk recently about the fact that Social Security is on the fast decline has left many
people, especially those around the

Nuclear Power And Nuclear Facilities
In 2014, it was reported that nuclear reactors provided 2411 billion kWh, over 11% of the world s
electricity (Plans for Reactors). During that year, the International Energy Agency held special
attention toward hazardous scenarios. Minus the conspiracy, World Energy Outlook 2014 had a
special focus on nuclear power, and extends the scope of scenarios to 2040 (Plans for Reactors).
In 2030, it is noted that there will be sixty percent capacity growth among nuclear reactors.
Countries with existing nuclear power plant count will increasingly expand their nuclear
stations. China will have an increase of 46%, while Korea, Russia and India will have 30% all
together, whereas the US will have a 16% expansion of nuclear capacity. The plan in motion for
2030 is to have nuclear power plants to have low carbon pollution. It is noteworthy that in the
1980s, 218 power reactors started up, an average of one every 17 days (The Nuclear
Renaissance) today, there are more than 400 nuclear power plants already made and used, now
in the process of expanding their count. In the 1980s, the US had 47 reactors in their base, 18 in
Japan and 42 in France. Now, the generating capacity increased in various countries such as
USA, Belgium, Germany and Sweden. Many countries have power plants which increase in
capacity each year, ...in Switzerland, the capacity of its five reactors has been increased by 13.4%

New England. For unknown reasons, Parson Hooper has taken to wearing a dark veil on his
face that covers all but his lips and chin. This veil immediately causes an uproar amongst the
church members. Despite the fact that Parson Hooper s behavior is largely the same, the people
are genuinely shocked. Right away, they view this black veil as a sign the pastor is hiding a sinful

One woman even swears the corpse of the girl reacts to him. Hawthorne writes Could Mr.
Hooper be fearful of her glance, that he so hastily caught back the black veil? Hawthorne uses
the black veil to symbolize secret sin and its consequences (Emmett). This is reinforced by the
fact that Parson Hooper s sermon is all about that very topic. While Hawthorne never reveals
what exactly Hooper s sin was, he writes in a footnote about a Joseph Goody from York Maine
who had died eighty years earlier. Goody had also covered his face with a black veil because he
accidentally murdered his friend earlier in his life. (Hawthorne) This reveals that Parson
Hooper is certainly hiding something, but at least it isn t that he murdered someone. His
fiancГ©e Elizabeth initially tries to reason with Hooper, hoping that she can get through to him.
Or that he will at least remove the veil for her. Instead, he gives her vague answers and confirms
that he will never take off the veil. Finally, the creepiness begins to affect Elizabeth and she
leaves him. This is definitely symbolic of the consequences of sin. Parsons Hooper refuses
honesty even to his own fiancГ©e and in return, he loses her. She asks him to at least explain
why he cannot remove it, but he doesn t give an answer instead he says Know, then, this veil is a
type and a symbol, and I am bound to wear it ever, both in light and darkness, in solitude and

The Importance Of Myths
Myth are traditional stories and are usually concerning people in history or the explanation of
natural phenomenon s. Legends are also stories and are popularly regarded to be about historical
figures. Legends can also be stories that over time have been exaggerated. Us as humans have
believed in these myths and over timethey have become a major part in our lives. Some people
believe that they have been a key influence in our religions as well. Because of this people have
come to question whether myths and legends are just superstitions from a former time and should
be forgotten or whether they are an important part of our culture and heritage. There are many types
of myths; natural myths, modern myths and creation myths. They all make up who we are.
Paragraph 1 draft
Myths and legends help us understand historical societies. Natural myths and legends have helped
historians understand the past. Take the Northern Lights for example. The traditional name for the
northern lights, Aurora Borealis originated from the Greek words that mean sunrise (Aurora) and
wind (Borealis). These words tell us what the Greeks thought was happening and how it was
caused. From these words we can infer that they thought it was some sort of wind and it interacted
with the sunrise.
It also shows us the importance of imagination and creativity and that these ancient societies used
these as well. It also shows us the importance of imagination and creativity and that these ancient

An Article On Islamic Mathematics
Abstract: This is an article on Islamic Mathematics. Islamic mathematics is dated back to the 8th
and 13th centuries CE. The mathematics in the Middle East is an expansion of what great Greek
philosophers had already found and studied. Much of what the Middle Eastern mathematicians
discovered helped influence European mathematics. In fact, a lot of what high school math teachers
teach our current generations is Algebra, which was discovered by an Islamic Mathematician.
Key Words: Al Khwarizmi, Algebra, Completing the square, zero
1Introduction
Since ancient times, mathematics has always been a necessity for the sake of civilization. Many
different cultures developed their own numerical system to adapt to changing times. Even ... Show

1) [2]. Al Khwarizmi was born in Persia near Baghdad around 780. He worked at the House of
Wisdom under the leadership of Caliph al Ma mun in Baghdad. The House of Wisdom was a
library for translation and research. Most of the library was full of treatises dealing with
philosophy, mathematics, and science. Here Al Khwarizmi was commissioned to translate Greek,
Hindu, Syriac Persian, and Hebrew text into Arabic. He popularized a number of mathematical
concepts, including the use of Hindu Arabic numbers and the number zero, algebra, and the use of
geometry to demonstrate and prove algebraic results.
3Arithmetic
In the 12th century, Al Khwarizmi introduced Hindu Arabic numerals and their arithmetic to the
west. His work is preserved in Latin, Algoritmi de numero Indorum, which then gained the term
algorithm [1]. This treatise is especially important to mathematics since it was the introduction of
the number zero. The number zero was used in the Middle East for about 250 years before it was
ever heard of in Europe. He also introduced the Hindu concept of decimal positioning notation to
the Arab and European worlds, which we still use today [2].
4Algebra
Kitab al jabr wa l muqabalah is another extremely important treatise written by Al Khwarizmi,
translated in the 12th century, from which the term Algebra derives. Algebra is a compilation of
rules, together with demonstrations, for finding solutions of linear and quadratic equations based

Analysis Of The Movie Bend It Like Beckham
I selected to do a cultural analysis on the movie Bend It Like Beckham . To give a rundown on
the plot of the movie, there is a girl named Jess Bhamra, who is an Indian living in England. She
is a very talented soccer player, but her parents will not permit her to play. One day, she meets a
girl named Jules Paxton, who persuades Jess to play soccer. Throughout her time on the team, Jess
has to make sure that her parents do not discover that she is playing professional soccer and that
she has a growing crush for her coach, (Chadha, Bend it like Beckham ).
One can also observe that men in the Indian culture are more dominant than women. In an article by
Katrina Beedy, Indian men dictate the rules for relationships, especially when it comes to women,
(Beedy). In addition according to an article by Asia society, the indian culture is very hierarchial,
(Asia Society). With having such a culture, women have the role of maintaining the family. For
example, in the movie, Jess s entire family was at her house to celebrate her sister getting married,
all of the women were asking Jess about when she s going to settle down and marry a strong man,
(Chadha, Bend it like Beckham ). This shows the characteristics of a collectivistic culture because
members of not just the immediate family but also the entire family are assumed to roles to keep
the family functioning. The opposite can be assumed about the westerners (they are an
individualistic culture) because the British girl called

Essay On Conditional Branch Predictor
Conditional branch predictor (CBP) is an essential component in the design of any modern deeply
pipelined superscalar microprocessor architecture. In the recent past, many researchers have
proposed varieties schemes for the design of the CBPs that claim to offer desired levels of
accuracy and speed needed to meet the demand for the architectural design of multicore processors.
Amongst various schemes in practice to realize the CBPs, the ones based on neural computing i.e.,
artificial neural network (ANN) have been found to outperform other CBPs in terms of accuracy.
Functional link artificial neural network (FLANN) is a single layer ANN with low computational

The major dificulty encountered due to extensive use of parallelism is the existence of branch
instructions in the set of instructions presented to the processor for execution: both conditional and
unconditional branch instructions in the pipeline. If the instructions under execution in the
pipeline does not bring any change in the control flow of the program, then there is no problem at
all. However, when the branch instruction puts the program under execution to undergo a change
in the flow of control, the situation becomes a topic of concern as the branch instruction breaks
the sequential flow of control, leading to a situation what is called pipeline stall and levying
heavy penalties on processing in the form of execution delays, breaks in the program flow and
overall performance drop. Changes in the control flow affects the processor performance because
many processor cycles must be wasted in ushing the pipeline already loaded with instructions from
wrong locations and again reading in the new set of instructions from right address. It is well
known that in a highly parallel computer system, branch instructions can break the smooth flow of
instruction fetching, decoding and execution. This results in delay, because the instruction issuing
must often wait until the actual branch outcome is known. To make things worse, the deeper the
pipelining, more is the delay, and thus greater is the performance loss.

The Treatment Of A Nurse
As a nurse we are trained to take all the necessary steps to save lives. However, there are
situations that the people we are caring for tends to refuse treatment, and we have to respect their
decision. According to the HDC (Health and Disability Commissioner) Code of Health and
Disability Services Consumers Rights Regulation 2004, every citizen has the right to make an
informed choice and give informed consent. Services like medication can only be provided if the
consumer gives an informed consent. In regards to the situation I have experienced in the facility,
the patient has the right to refuse to take the Warfarin. Even if this poses a risk to his health the
members of the health care team has to respect his decision. I truly respect the decision of the
patient. I empathize with his decision not to take the Warfarin because it needed for the INR to be
monitored which causes discomfort in him since it was difficult to extract blood from him.
However, the Warfarin is a very important medicineneeded because of his medical condition.
Warfarin is used to prevent blood clots from forming or growing larger in your blood and blood
vessels. It is prescribed for people with certain types of irregular heartbeat, people with prosthetic
(replacement or mechanical) heart valves, and people who have suffered a heart attack. Warfarin is
also used to treat or prevent venous thrombosis and pulmonary embolism. Warfarin is in a class of

The Impact On The Australian Home Front
In August 1914, after the outbreak of World War I, an immense wave of support flooded Britain
from her ally, Australia. All Australian political parties, community leaders, newspapers and
churches were on board with this major movement to help the mother country. All believed it was a
morally right and necessary commitment . World War I, 1914 1918 had a significant and long lasting
impact on the Australian home front. The civilian population had to undergo many changes to cater
for the war. At this time women s push for a larger role in the war effort caused a significant and
long lasting impact on the Australian home front, which has helped shape workplace gender
equality today. Conscription also impacted the Australian home front, meaning, compulsory
enlistment of people in military service. As well as the massive impact on Australia s economy
from the many trading cancellations through abandoned or cut off allies, which has helped build
Australia s economy to what it is today.
Prior to WWI, women were considered as unemployable and only worthy for teaching and small
shop keeping jobs. Unlike other countries like Germany and Britain during the war that allowed
women to take on the male roles in society, the Australian government refused to let women take up
such roles. Instead women started organisations such as The Australian Comfort Fund (ACF) who
sent comfort boxes to the boys on the front line. These contained cakes, cigarettes and other luxury
items . The

Disadvantages Of Marjoram
Marjoram
Marjoram (Origanum Majorana) is an aromatic herb in the mint family. It grows wild in
Mediterranean countries such as Cyprus, Turkey and Greece and is a popular additive to their
cuisine (used in sauces, soups and meat dishes).
Sweet or knotted marjoram is considered to be a perennial herb but it does not survive cold
temperatures, so must be sown every year. It prefers full exposure to the sun and is best planted
in well drained soil where it has room to spread. In common with other aromatic herbs, such as
Fennel, Basil, Dill, etc., it is not subject to the attack of birds as many other seeds are.

spells that might have been cast by passing witches.
It is said that a man named Amarakos in service to the king, broke a bottle of precious perfume.
He fell down into a swoon and the Gods changed him into Marjoram.
Marjoram is bound to Mercury and air. A mixture of marjoram and violets is to protect the family

Love becomes something that can be written on the night sky. In the line 11, love is stated as faery power . A hyperbole is reflected by a help of metaphor. Not as much as metaphors, but similes are also used in the sonnet. The line 4 Hold like rich garners the full ripened grain , compares language to wheat in a grain bin. • 7. Outline For Women In Ministry Research Paper THESIS: Should women be permitted to lead religious worship, such as music; should women be permitted to be a pastor; should women be allowed to hold a high administrative office; should women be allowed to serve and care for others? Women are human beings, and all humans were created to serve each other; however, mankind may have culturally set barriers and limitations on women which would not benefit women to serve in certain roles. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There are various views of women in ministry. Some of these views are very conservative while others are very liberal and then there are those that trail the middle of the road. There are three major views, The most conservative view is the traditional view. The traditionalists believe that male and female were created differently and should hold different roles. They hold strong to Genesis 3:16, Your desire will be for your husband, and he will rule over you . Another Scripture that this group uses is 1Timothy 2:12, I do not permit a woman to teach or to assume authority over a man, she must be quiet (Calagna, Paragraph 4). The second view that is a little less traditional is the complimentarian view or male leadership view. This view does believe both male and female were created in the image of God, but the male is still in authority. The women are permitted to teach other women, children, and sometimes males if they are under the authority of male leadership (Calagna, Paragraph 5). The third view is pluralism. Those who believe this view understand that at creation Adam and Eve shared equal authority and submitted to each other. It was the disobedience in the garden that brought about the curse in which females had to start submitting to males. When Jesus died on the cross, this curse was broken. Therefore, ministry does not depend on gender but it depends on one s ability and gifts given from God. (Calagna, Paragraph 1) The view that a person ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. National Deficit and National Debt Essay The growing national deficit is a looming problem in the United States now more than ever. The national debt is constantly increasing and government spending is out of control. If these issues are not solved then they could spell disaster for the nation s economy when the infamous debt ceiling is finally reached. Currently the national policy on the debt is to continue raising the debt limit until a solution is found that is agreeable between both parties in Congress. The two main issues of over spending and the constant raising of the debts ceiling by Congress can both be resolved by government spending reform, balancing the federal budget and initiating pro growth policies in order to increase the government s tax revenue. The debt... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The other issue that is facing the American government is overspending. Overspending is a pertinent problem facing the lawmakers in Congress. In 2012 discretionary spending reached $1.3 trillion and mandatory spending $2 trillion, while only bringing in $2.5 trillion in revenue. Since the turn of the century back in 2000, non mandatory spending by the government has topped out a whopping $16.1 trillion just in the past 13 years (Boccia, Frasser Goff 2013). This persistent overspending on programs and services that are not necessary to the functionality of the country is what is causing the deficit to rise year after year. To remedy this issue the government must either increase the revenue it brings in through taxes and trade or reduce the amount of money it spend or perhaps even both. In 2012 thirty one cents of every dollar that Washington spent was borrowed (Boccia, Frasser Goff 2013). Most of which went to large programs such as Social Security and Medicare and if these large, growing programs, or just the budget in general, do not undergo financial reform it could spell disaster for the economy and fiscal state of the nation. Government spending in the United States needs to change and it needs to change soon. As mentioned earlier, in 2012 nearly a third of governments budget ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. Iconoclasm In The Byzantine Empire When researching iconoclasm during the Byzantine Empire and today s Middle East, one can easily see the end result of the two ages is similar the destruction of valuable religious artwork. However it is important to analyze the reasons and intent behind the destruction. By doing this, a person can better understand the motivation for the artwork s destruction and even determine if history should treat the two eras differently. With respect to the Byzantine era, the reason behind the destruction of icons was a theological debate within the Christian religion. During this time, the creation of icons was believed to be divinely inspired by God. Iconophiles, those that like and approve of icons, were devout Christian s who prayed at an icon because of what it represented God. However Iconoclasts, those who work to destroy icons, were also devout Christians. Iconoclasts feared that in praying before the icons Christians were actually worshiping the icons. They were concerned that Iconophiles believed the icons had the ability to perform miracles. In this way the use of icons became idol worship and was against God s commandment and must be destroyed. • 10. The Meanings of Madame Bovary Essay The Meanings of Madame Bovary Madame Bovary is the portrait of a woman trapped in an unsatisfactory marriage in a prosaic bourgeois town. Her attempts to escape the monotony of her life through adulterous liaisons with other men are ultimately thwarted by the reality that the men she has chosen are shallow and self centered and that she has overstretched herself financially. In despair, Emma resolves her predicament by taking her own life. What should we make of this rather slight story, initially based on the life of a real woman who, like Emma, scandalized her village with her affairs with other men and her extravagant lifestyle? Is there a lesson or a moral to be drawn from Emma s folly and the tragedy of her death? Part ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The challenge today s readers are left with is how to make sense of Emma s story. A common interpretation of the novel maintains that Emma Bovary s downfall is due to the fact that she is both foolish and romantically inclined. Emma comes to a tragic end because she has been self dramatizing and impulsive and, above all, because she has believed in the ideals of the Romantic literature of which she has been an avid consumer since adolescence. This is the view adopted by many critics who have viewed Emma as mediocre and trite, her dreams shoddy, second hand and second rate. The literary critic Allen Tate, for example, described Emma as a `silly, sad and hysterical woman (quoted in Brombert: 1966, p.84). For further discussion of this reading click on Emma: Victim of her own Romanticism. Another view holds that Emma is an essentially tragic figure, a figure of epic proportions whose ideals are thwarted by a petty and money grabbing society. The poet and critic Charles Baudelaire, however, saw Emma as a heroic creation and described her as `trГЁs sublime dans son espГЁce, dans son petit milieu et en face de son petit horizon (Baudelaire: 1976, p.83). She is a truly epic heroine in thrall to an excessive but splendid passion. • 11. Supporting Influences in the Process of Special Education How does the role of the Response to Intervention process (RTI), and the Positive Behavior Interventions and Support (PBIS) structure influence the pre referral process for special education? In today s time it is of common practice to use the RTI method for academic issues. Likewise, the PBIS framework is used for issues dealing with unfavorable characteristics in student behavior. Each method is widely known and looked on as a favorable approach. Both RTI and PBIS are very important in addressing students during the pre referral process, and each plays a very significant role. In the following essay the aforementioned question of their role and influence will be explored and answered. In addressing the role of the Response to Intervention process (RTI), one must first become familiar with the premise of this process. RTI is a method that is used to address school aged children that are showing evidence of academic struggle. At the beginning of the pre referral process, educators identify struggling pupils. Following this identification, these same teachers begin to explore several avenues of remediation through highly recommended research based approaches. An approach is selected, implemented, and the child s progress is documented fully. If solid evidence of success is discovered, through the implementation of a given program, then the process is concluded because success has been met. However, if there is solid evidence that proves that the program is unsuccessful then ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 12. Baseball, America s Pastime Baseball is referred to as America s Pastime. Many people argue it is one of the hardest sports to succeed in. Out of the four major sports in the United States, hitting a 95 mile per hour fastball is a goal only few can accomplish at a professional level. With only 750 players throughout 30 Major League Baseball(MLB) teams, the odds of making it to The Show are highly unlikely. To make it to the big leagues as an African Americanplayer was an even harder feat to accomplish in the mid to late 1900 s. Baseballs Greatest Experiment tells the story of how MLB was an all white mans game up until the death of Commissioner Kennesaw Mountain Landis in 1944. Team owners and the commissioner did not want to integrate African Americans into the MLB; some experts argued that the absence of blacks in the majors stemmed from their lack of talent, intelligence and desire ( Tygiel, 32). Since Jackie Robinsonovercame many obstacles, baseball players and fans alike can argue that he paved the way for African Americans in baseball and challenged societal social structure. As African Americans started to make names for themselves in other sports such as the boxer Joe Louis, people questioned why African Americans were not allowed to play baseball. Tygiel brought it to attention that, the emergence of Joe Louis as the world heavyweight boxing champion and a national hero led many American s to re evaluate their prejudices ( Tygiel, 35). • 13. The Struggle For Political Balance Delaney Reed Mrs. Barcroft AP Government 9 October 2015 The Struggle for Political Balance Americans were known as a pioneering people who would struggle and fight to build for themselves. A people who pushed the entire world into a new era and has continued to push the limits of technology, military, and culture. After Britain finally surrendered the colonies to the American citizens a new republican experiment was conducted. One that is still going on to this very day and every citizen of America is a part of this grand experiment. The British Colonies were independent from one another before the American Revolution, but a shared enemy began a strong bond between the states. After things settled down the states were allied with one another in a form of confederation and then finally under the Constitution as a united republic nation. There were those who were not completely for a strong central government and favored the confederate style, but there were also those who found comfort and strength in a centralized federal government. This federalist versus anti federalist debate has continued throughout all of American history each side with its strengths and weaknesses. The development of the debate and increase in federalism in American government can be highlighted by the doctrine of implied powers, commerce clause, the American Civil War, and the struggle for civil rights. Chief Justice Marshall was a pioneer for setting government precedents and advocated for a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This paper will explore both the TED talk by Bavelier (2012) and other relevant research on the subject. Description On average, 90% of school aged individuals and 70% of head of households with a median age of 33, play video games. General wisdom says that playing video games leads to poor eyesight and greater attention deficits with higher rates of distractibility. Bavelier (2012) states that research does not support general wisdom and even refutes it strongly under certain conditions. Bavelier s research has shown that people who play action games such as Call of Duty, actually have better eyesight in at least 2 conditions and are also able to switch attention much more swiftly and with fewer deficits than ... The tension between them consisted of having disagreements on slavery, economical and political differences. The hate and violence against each other later on led to the infamous Civil War. The Civil War, also known as the War Between States , began in 1861 and lasted for four deadly years. This war of disputes and misery led to the division of the two nations, the North and the South. The three main causes of the Civil War between the North and the South were politics, economy, and slavery. The first main cause of the Civil War was conflict between the North and the South about politics. During the election of 1860, Abraham Lincolnwas a candidate of the North while J.C. This caused tension between the North and the South because Abraham Lincoln was against the expansion of slavery (Doc N). The Kansas Nebraska Act is an example of this. The Missouri Compromise Line of 1820 was repealed when the Kansas Nebraska Act of 1845 was passed. The act organized territories on the principle of popular sovereignty. From global warming to man made causes, these factors contribute into one of the most predictable catastrophic disasters. While rising sea levels can lead to a flooding disaster, there are other consequences that are impacted due to this component that can affect the whole planet. Changes in the climate have been an on going critical issue that has been affecting the present time and near future. One of the causes that has contributed to climate change and rising sea levels is global warming. Global warming, the gradual heating of Earth s surface, oceans and atmosphere (Bradford) has caused warmer temperatures, leading to a growth in earths average temperature. Earth s average temperature has risen by 1.4 degrees Fahrenheit, over the past century, according to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) (Bradford). Many might say that 1.4 degrees is quite a small number, but the issue here isn t with the number of degrees is going up but rather with the extra energy the earth is having to do it is causing those drastic changes in our weather. As this continues to occur, not only is our atmosphere getting warmer but by doing so, so is our water. And since our oceans water help absorb most of the excess heat our atmosphere creates, when it absorbs too much heat (making the water warmer) it affects the lives of the animals ... Federal Jurisdiction Essay Federal Jurisdiction Abstract In this paper I will discuss a case involving Henry, a resident of Nevada, who sued Adam, a resident of Utah in the Federal Court in California. Henry sought $60,000 damages for personal injuries arising from an automobile accident that occurred in Los Angeles, California. I will answer the following questions about this case. Does the Federal Court have jurisdiction? What rules of procedure will the court use? Why? And what rules of substantive law will the court use? One of the most essential questions of law is whether a given court has jurisdiction to preside over a given case. Jurisdiction means the power to hear a case. Many courts ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A federal court would not have jurisdiction. The plaintiff would have to find a subordinate court to rule on the case, following laws appropriate to where the occurrence happened. Since the occurrence happened in LA, the defendant can be sued there. Because the defendant resides in Utah, he could be sued there as well. Depending on the specific structure of the Utah, California, and Nevada state s court system, trial courts may be city/municipal courts, justice of the peace, county/circuit courts, or even regional trial courts. Unless the defendant could be served while moving through Nevada, California would probably be the best place to initially file. Given the conditions of this case, specific trial would most likely be conducted in a California trial court or the defendant s home jurisdiction, The plaintiff may find one or the other more suitable. In my opinion, selection of the defendant s home town as the venue would likely be less beneficial to the plaintiff. Rules of Procedure If parties are involved in a car accident in Los Angeles, he or she will usually file a lawsuit in the Superior Court of California, County of Los Angeles. It is also an extremely popular tourist destination for Americans and Europeans alike. Moreover, its people have had the highest average annual hours worked in the world every year for the last three years (OECD, 2017). Despite this, their unemployment rate is estimated to be 3.6% and their underemployment at 25% (CIA, 2017). I am going to expand on this country s issues with corruption, organized crime, violence, the economy, and how I assess their future will affects us here in the United States. Like many countries in turmoil, corruption is and has been a big part of Mexico s political scene, especially with domestic criminal organizations such as the drug cartels. Mexico s politicians have not only stolen public funds but they have also made complicit agreements with multiple drug cartels. Mexico ranks No. 123 in Transparency International s 2016 Corruption Perception Index, 25 spots lower than the year before. Analysts say it s unclear whether corruption has gotten worse or has merely become more visible because of transparency laws, journalists increasingly uncovering graft and social media exposing politicians excesses (Agren, 2017). In recent years there have been multiple Mexican politicians prosecuted and arrested due to their illegal dealings but the cycle just continues with their successors. Take Javier Duarte for example, who was the governor of Veracruz State from 2010 to 2016 and managed to steal $3 billion from public funds meanwhile violence spread throughout the state. The violence was so severe that mass graves with 250 skulls were discovered and at least 17 journalists were murdered during his tenure (Agren, 2017). Additionally, the two former Tamaulipas State governors were both indicted for their involvement in illicit activities. The former governor, TomГЎs Yarrington, was accused of taking bribes from both the Zetas Cartel and the Gulf Cartel; meanwhile in 2015 his successor, Eugenio HernГЎndez, was indicted in Texas on federal money laundering charges (Agren, 2017). However, genetic sequencing and research in the biological sciences have opened up the potential to diagnose and treat genetic illnesses and key health vulnerabilities through sequencing analysis at all stages of life. Doctors are better placed to identify the root genetic causes of disorders and illnesses, as advances in associating certain bits of genetic code to certain outcomes have expanded the number of known genetic links to maladies from 60 in 1990 to over 5000 (as of 2013). Future analysis of so called junk DNA with no obvious associations to gene expression will form a large part of raising that number even further. Individual genomic analysis allows for better targeted medication and the identification of tumor causing DNA code. Pre natal genetic screening for genetic disorders and disabilities in a fetus can also be performed via blood testing, reducing the need for other, invasive forms of medical testing. The newly developed gene editing tool, CRISPR, also offers the possibility of eliminating or changing defective genomic sections easily. Built in 1880, John E. Fladeland was able to call this house his home. • 35. Grappling With Grief By The Survivor Essay Grappling with Grief Guilt is perhaps the most painful companion of death, (Brainyquote.com, 2016). Life in this day and age may often seem unkind, society is inherently violent, as demonstrated in popular films and television series. Many individuals seek to obtain professions that require the employee to regularly stake their own livelihood and safety on the line. Accompanied by the risk necessary to earn nominal wages, exists the probability that friends and co workers, with whom one may have developed a personal closeness and affection, will from time to time be injured and killed in the line of duty. With added longevity in that career, death comes part and parcel. Chalking it up to being the nature of the beast, may be a successful defensive posture for a period of time. For many people, however, the day will inevitably come when reflection and introspection become more frequent, guilt sets in for having lived while many others perished. The fairness of life being called into question by the survivor, the long term psychological effects become insurmountable (Goodtherapy.org, 2016). The bereavement just described is a condition known as survivor s guilt, and is just one of many symptoms that can be expected when grappling with loss of life complexities. • 36. Differences Between Tweedledland And Alice In Wonderland The original book of Alice s Adventures in Wonderland, by Lewis Carroll, has many differences within the plot when compared to the 1951 Disney movie adaptation. One of the differences between these two adaptations is that in the book, Tweedledee and Tweedledum never appear or are mentioned. In the movie, Tweedledee and Tweedledum are included. This makes the reader /audience understand the text differently because there are more characters incorporated into the movie that change the plot. Adding new characters to the movie change the significance of those characters, because they add new dialogue and actions to the plot. Another plot difference between these two adaptations has to do with the caterpillar. In the book, the caterpillar crawls away from Alice. However, the caterpillar turns into a butterfly in the movie. This is significant to the plot in both the movie and book, because they symbolize different things. The caterpillar turning into a butterfly signifies how much he has grown throughout the movie, and it s finally his time to leave. The caterpillar turning into a butterfly in the movie adds more significance to the plot, because he is transforming into something new. Whereas, the book simply has the caterpillar crawl away. One of the last differences between these two adaptations is that in the movie no one could see the cat, except for Alice. Additionally, it is important to note that the Salem Witch Trials have been considered to be amongst some of the darkest periods in the American trial history. It is important to note that in the 17th century, people from Massachusetts were exposed to a kind of fear that was linked to the Devil and being constantly portrayed as always finding for all possible ways to infiltrate and interfere with Christianity in the American society (Clark and Aronson 401). In connection to this, it is important to understand that the Salem community was one of the strongly religious communities living that lived in near isolation and to some extent, in its own New World where the sense of fearing the devil had been made a part of the society. The fear that the community living in this area had was triggered when Tituba, one of the accused witches went on to confess that she was working for the devil (Martin and Bascle 70). The confession that was made led to the development of hysteria and panic in the region making the region to devote their efforts to a massive witch hunt. In this, it is important to note that despite there being some contributing factors in the witch hunt, the confession that was made by Tituba is always considered to be the main reason why the Salem Witch Trial came to being. Ever since the first Europeans set foot on Canadian soil in the 15th century, they have thought their culture and way of life was superior to that of the Native North Americans. Initially the Europeans relied upon the Indians to show them how to travel and survive in the wilds of Canada. They also were dependent on Indians as trading partners and as military allies. Parents thought that you ...don t [want to] explain too much or you ll take away the opportunity to learn. While Hawthorne never reveals what exactly Hooper s sin was, he writes in a footnote about a Joseph Goody from York Maine who had died eighty years earlier. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The major dificulty encountered due to extensive use of parallelism is the existence of branch instructions in the set of instructions presented to the processor for execution: both conditional and unconditional branch instructions in the pipeline. If the instructions under execution in the pipeline does not bring any change in the control flow of the program, then there is no problem at all. However, when the branch instruction puts the program under execution to undergo a change in the flow of control, the situation becomes a topic of concern as the branch instruction breaks the sequential flow of control, leading to a situation what is called pipeline stall and levying heavy penalties on processing in the form of execution delays, breaks in the program flow and overall performance drop. Changes in the control flow affects the processor performance because many processor cycles must be wasted in ushing the pipeline already loaded with instructions from wrong locations and again reading in the new set of instructions from right address. It is well known that in a highly parallel computer system, branch instructions can break the smooth flow of instruction fetching, decoding and execution. This results in delay, because the instruction issuing must often wait until the actual branch outcome is known. To make things worse, the deeper the pipelining, more is the delay, and thus greater is the performance loss. Branch predictors ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
