Iago Is An Artist Of Evil
Many have said that Iago is an artist of Evil. He made it crystal clear that he holds no love or
loyalty all through the play for title character Othello. Reason behind being, Othello unfairly passed
him over for a promotion and went ahead making Cassio his lieutenant even though he, unlike Iago
has not much experience in this field. Iagowho was once a devoted soldier under Othellos demand
had full confidence in himself for being the rightful person to take upon the promoted lieutenant
position as he be believed he deserved it after all he was the better soldier as well as his
relationship with othello would have gotten him the there. Assuming many wrongs, Iago was
infuriated when denied the role and it let to bringing out the worse of him.

worth staying in one place and gravitating around. Especially if you leave less than ten days .
Respect the schedules of the little ones (but not too much) family trip 7 go trips
The little ones will need to rest, especially after a trip by plane . Real emotional sponges, they cash
all the changes made around them, and it exhausts them. And then, at home, we take a nap in the
afternoon! Do not try to break the rhythm, give them the rest time they need. Take the time to relax,
after all, it s the holidays ! But nothing prevents you to arrange differently these rest periods,
depending on the planned activities. It s all about dosing.
Lighten the schedule family trip 8 go trips
During a family trip, we must accept that we can not all do not all see a destination. No more
obstacle course, endless list of activities or ministerial planning . Remember that everyone is on
vacation and that holidays are done above all to rest, relax and have a good time with the family.
Running right on the left will eventually annoy everyone , and no one will benefit. So, select the
activities, and if your children are old enough to choose, let them tell you what they would like to

Domestic Violence Memoir
Furthermore, factors that contribute to the beginning of violence against an intimate partner is
emphasized by both literary texts, correlating with the reality of domestic violence in modern
society. The thoughts of conducting abuse may arise in the subconscious mind of a person due to
several influences, such as witnessing abuse as a child or mental illnesses, without the person s
intent; however, the choice to carry out the act still lies in the hands of the individual. Those who
violate women once continue their abuse for extended periods of time, rarely ever being able to
change. According to several psychiatrists who analyze the behaviour and influence of domestic
abusers, people with very traditional beliefs [think] they have the right... Show more content on

While some abusers carry traditional beliefs, others may feel [the] need to control their partner
because of low self esteem, extreme jealousy, difficulties in regulating anger and other strong
emotions, or when they feel inferior to the other partner in education and socioeconomic
background (Goldsmith). Abusers may often develop a subconscious state of mind which
prompts them to take control of the relationship and their partner in order to feel better about
themselves. The criticism that they carry for themselves, usually as a result of insecurities, can
cause them to project it onto their domestic partners in many cases in order to relieve the
negativity that they feel about themselves. In the movie Provoked, the initial incident of
domestic abuse begins when Deepak becomes jealous of Kiranjit s interactions with another
man, and as a result of his uncontrolled emotions, he slaps her: Oh my god, I m so sorry. I love
you so much. I just can t stand to see you with anyone else. Oh my god, I m sorry (Provoked).
Although she is encouraged to talk to and dance with the man by Deepak himself, he quickly
becomes enraged and goes home to make accusations about her being unfaithful, eventually
reaching a boiling point where he hits her, thereby demonstrating his lack of self esteem and trust.

Teens and Minimum Legal Drinking Age (MLDA) Essay
Introduction
For many years, underage drinking in America has been a very controversial topic. However,
because of the many discrepancies that some US state representatives have added to the federal
underage law, this subject will hardly be solved or going away, anytime soon. Proponents argue
The current underage drinking law of 21, has not stopped teen drinking, and has instead pushed
underage binge drinking into private and less controlled environments, leading to more health and
life endangering behavior by teens (ProCon, 2012, para. 2).
Therefore, the minimum legal drinking age for teens should be lowered from 21, to 18. On the
other hand, Opponents of lowering the MLDA argue that teens have not yet reached an age where ...

The strongest reasons in favor of Proponents: If teens are responsible enough to serve in the
military, then why are they not responsible enough to drink alcohol? Opponents contend that: (1)
Lowering the MLDA will see an increase in injuries and death resulting from car crashes; (2)
Long term alcohol abuse causes serious health problems in teens when compared to teens that do
not drink alcohol; and, (3) Teens that drink alcohol are involved in a higher rate of assaults than
teens that do not drink alcohol. Opponents also argue that teens who abuse alcohol: (4) Are more
apt to commit suicide, than teens who do not abuse alcohol; (5) Are involved in a significant
amount of non vehicular homicides, than teens that do not drink alcohol; (6) Have a higher chance
of being sexually and physically abused by friends and strangers than non drinking teens.
Strongest argument in favor of Opposition is that, traffic fatalities decreased when the MLDA
increased (ProCon, 2012). I maintain for this argument that: Although MLDA does not effectively
prevent teens from drinking alcohol or from drinking in inappropriate locations, it does however set
the legal standard that allows for accountability for the risky and dangerous behaviors that are often
associated with underage drinking.

The Relation Between Stalin And Hitler
Throughout the course of history, a vast quantity of dictators left their impression on the world as
we know it today, each having gained notoriety as a result of their rapid rise to power and their
infamous dynamisms which made them who they are known to be.
The two most notable leaders in history who express such qualities are Joseph Stalin of the Soviet
Union, and Adolf Hitler from the German Nazi regime, and these two men, different as they were,
displayed symmetric roles throughout their times in control.
The relation between Stalin and Hitler begins with their anonymously parallel childhoods. While

Refugees In Camps During The Refugee Crisis
During the refugee crisis there was some international governmental and non governmental aid
for the refugees in the country still those 350 000 400 000 (vidi pogore) were enormous burden
for Macedonian economy. That was third reason for accommodating refugees in camps instead
incorporating them in the society. Their potential influence on Macedonians economy and
establishing refugees camps can be observed thru the possible impact on local and national
economy. Because these two factors are very closely connected they will be elaborated and
overviewed simultaneously. Refugees escaping from ethnic cleansing were arriving in
Macedonia only with few necessities, and were relaying on Aid from host nation. In that time
the biggest economy issue for Macedonian government was unemployment, statistic said that
around 32% of the population was unemployed, or around 350 000 people. So people in order to
survive were working on black market, and without insurance. At some level that was tolerated
from the government because it was providing existence for people and social peace in the
country. Black market and working without insurance had a big influence for local and national
economy. Major concern for government if refugees were incorporated into the society was that
these 350 000 400 000 refugees, in conditions of no income was more than possible that they
would seek for job in the country on black market. Also around 50 000 60 000 refugees were
accommodated mostly in families

effectively utilizing the corporate scorecard in a faster paced, more dynamic, and more complex
market environment.
ADI posted an explosive topline growth rate of 78 percent, growing from $1.5B to $2.6B in 2000.
The company also manufactured components of mobile phones and wireless infrastructure

Q1. How did ADI s industry change between 1996 and 2001?
ADI posted an explosive topline growth rate of 78 percent, growing from $1.5B to $2.6B in 2000.
There had been many strong years in ADI s history, but this was extraordinary.
In the 1980s, applications for ADI components were primarily in the industrial and military sectors.
The technology markets that drove ADI s more recent growth, in the consumer electronics and
communications sectors.
By 2001 ADI s outsourcing was occurring to:
Operators of chip fabrication facilities ( fabs )
Global component distributors
Contract equipment manufacturers
The strategic implications for ADI were significant. With more links in the value chain, the total
industry profit pool was spread more thinly among a greater number of players.
ADI new structure of the supply chain had implications for demand management. Due to increased
pressure of shorter product lifecycles, another trend in ADI s business is the increasing need for

Rav Kook Essay
Rav Kook was an innovator and several generations ahead of the traditional orthodoxy. He did not
limit himself to Torah and Halacha, but his interest went beyond the limits of Jewish law. Kook
was versed with secular literature and philosophy, he was one of the founders of the Hebrew
university and his inaugural speech he tried to unify zion and Torah which in my option is a
problematic marriage. He was revolutionary in apply Jewish law relating secular laws in (Kashrut).
This rejuvenation of Jewish result law resulted in much resistance by orthodox jews. As a result of
this there was tension between the ultra orthodox community rejecting Zionism. and Zionism

Rav Kook s revolutionary approach was to open up the constructs of Halacha to allow for a
broader roll for religious jews. Until that time Halacha god was only understood through the
prism of Halacha, it was Rav Kook that enlarged the boundaries of Halacha to include Zionism.
That is why Rav Kook had a picture of Herzl hung in his office and considered him as a modern
Moses, even though Herzl was a secular jew that had Christmas trees in his home. Rav Kook s
revolutionary approach to the Halacha was not to look at the religion soley from the perspective
of that man is passive and only god is active. By creating the bridge between Zionism to religion,
he merited religious jews the freedom to act and engage in history and not waiting for god to act.
He was instrumental in allowing religious Zionism to become active participants in their own
destiny, as he stated The people of Israelare not a nation in the normal sense of the term, but
rather the essence of the human ideal. They exist as a society on all its meaning and are called a
nation by way of description because all societies of man are called by such a name. (World

The Scarlet Ibis Analysis
James Hurst is the author of the heart breaking short story entitled The Scarlet Ibis . The Scarlet
Ibis is a short story about two brothers; one brother is healthy, while the other is physically
handicapped. The short story is centered on the idea that the older, healthier brother s selfishness
and pride ultimately led to the death of his younger brother, Doodle. Numerous quotes throughout
the story demonstrate Hurst s use of symbolism and foreshadowing to portray and predict Doodle s
untimely and heartbreaking death. The Scarlet Ibisbird symbolizes Doodle; this symbolism can be
seen by the authors description of both Doodle s and the Scarlet Ibiss appearance after death. After

Hurst s diction at the beginning of the short story foreshadows the later death of Doodle. Hurst
starts by setting a gloomy scene as the narrator is speaking. The narrator, Doodle s old brother,
soon states, But sometimes, as I sit in the cool...I remember Doodle (Hurst 1). Hurst uses the
word remember to emphasize the fact that Doodle is no long around. Readers do not know what
happened to Doodle, but begin to suspect the answer. In the next paragraph the narrator says,
Doodle was just about the craziest brother a boy ever had (Hurst 1). In this quote, Hurst uses past
tense words such as was and had to once again show that this was in the past. Hurst s word
choices foreshadow Doodle s death and sparks interest in the readers at the very beginning.
Foreshadowing is used at the beginning of the story to draw readers into the story and help keep
their interest.
Hurst utilizes foreshadowing to demonstrate how the brother s selfishness and pride leads to the
death of Doodle. Not long after Doodle was born, the mother explains to the brother that Doodle
might be mentally handicapped as well as physically handicapped. The brother could not accept
the fact that his brother is different, so he began to make plans to kill him [Doodle] by
smothering him in his sleep (Hurst 1). From the very beginning, Doodle s brother is unable to
except the fact that his brother is not normal and never will be. His selfishness and pride leads him
to want to kill

International Industry Analysis Porter s Five Forces
2.3 Inter Industry Analysis Porter s Five Forces
The Strategic fit approach to management, describes that the prospect of profitability depends
largely on the firm positioning itself in an attractive industry the attractiveness and therefore
profitability is said to depend upon how competitive the industry is, a highly competitive industry is
less attractive and less profitable than an industry where the competition is less intense.
(www.netmba.com) According to Porter s Five Forces Framework attractiveness and profitability
depends upon five elements of industry structure and how they interact determining the intensity of
the competition within the industry (Michael Porter, Competitive Strategy: Techniques for
analysing industries and competitors). Included in this chapter is an explanation of the Five Forces
and how they each affect Eurocity.
2.3.1 Rivalry amongst existing firms
Porter described that intense industrial rivalry can lead to higher costs; lower prices and therefore
lower profitability. As there are a large number of competitors with little ability to differentiate their
product, the market can be seen as very competitive and therefore unattractive. However, there are
some compensating factors; such as, an applicant must give his permission to companies who wish
to submit their CV and in return the applicant has to confirm that no other company will submit
them for the position. This means that applicants should not be submitted by numerous

think are the most important and noticeable are these. This shows us how humans are greedy and
selfish. All they care about is profit and self benefit. Most humans just think about themselves but
one day they will lose everything but the harm they did still affects others. Sustainability is a big

My Reflection On My Nursing Journey
My Nursing Journey I once heard someone say, Find something you love to do and you ll
always be successful. If you want to be in a field where you are continually learning, nursing
would be the top pick. This paper will reflect the journey I have taken from Registered Nurse (RN)
to Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) with the incorporation of my learning objectives from my
clinical course.
Although, I ve been in healthcare for over 20 years, working as a medical assistant, I believe my
journey truly began with nursing school. It is one thing to do a job that you have been shown to do,
but it becomes different as I now understand why these processes are done as well as the
physiological implications. The journey to get to this point had felt like a lifelong one with many
disappointments and struggles along the way. However because of the knowledge I now have, I
wouldn t change a thing as I consider it extremely valuable.
My clinical experience for this semester was an opportunity to follow the house supervisor at Trios
Healthcare in Kennewick, WA. The courses at Washington State University (WSU) consisting of
leadership and management have taught me the value of collaboration as well as communication.
With the opportunity to follow the house supervisor I was able to apply this knowledge to my
clinical experience. This was especially good because one of my learning objectives was to
participate in the management of admissions and transferring patients in the

mysteries of grace, the deep things of the Gospel, made known to Gospel ministers; and

Daniel. The story begin with Daniel was being dragged into Babylon after he made a man of

conclusion agree with Daniel; the description of the man child, and the promises to Zion, with
Isaiah; the judgment of Babylon, with Jeremiah; again, the evolvement of times, with Daniel; the
architecture of the holy city, with Ezekiel; the signs of the horses and candlesticks. Thus
Zechariah spoke of the two olive trees; and so does St. John, but with a different meaning. Daniel
has a beast with ten horns; so has St. John. And here the difference of words, emblems, things,
times, ought carefully to be observed. Our Lord foretold many things before his passion; but not
all things, for it was not yet seasonable. Many things, likewise, his Spirit foretold, in the writings

Marxist Reading Of The Rainbow Fish
In a world of instant gratification and endless options of items that are always up for purchase, it
is easy to engage in the hype. These material items that society puts such a high value on create
separations of wealth amongst the people, in turn creating the proletariat and the bourgeoisie. In
a nutshell, The Rainbow Fish by Marcus Pfister is a story about a fish with many beautiful
scales who refuses to give any of them to the less fortunate fish. Though at a first glance, The
Rainbow Fish seems to simply be a children s lesson on the importance of sharing. But, at a closer
look this story reveals that is in fact a criticism on society enveloping itself in the Marxist theory.
Marxism focuses on the effects of the separation of wealth... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

He puts an extremely high value on his possessions. In turn, because of this high value, these
possessions determine his self worth. An example of this commodification shows in the story
where all of the other fish begin to ignore Rainbow Fish because he refuses to share. In the text,
it states, What good were the dazzling, shimmering scales with no one to admire them? Now he
was the loneliest fish in the entire ocean (Pfister 10). Commodification is prevalent as Rainbow
Fish selfishly only focuses on himself. He does not want the scales for their usefulness, he only
wants them when other fish are there to admire them. Rainbow Fish only wants the scales if they
give him a higher social status. If no one is there to compliment him, then the scales mean
nothing to him. Additionally, Rainbow Fish exhibits commodification when he thinks about
giving away his scales. Rainbow Fish states, Give away my scales? My beautiful shining scales?
Never. How could I ever be happy without them (Pfister 16). Rainbow Fish allows material items
to impact his life so greatly that they determine his happiness. Rainbow Fish is so commodified
that even the thought of giving away his scales triggers unhappiness and worry. Rather than basing
happiness off of good works and personality, he bases it off of how much material he has. He
infatuates so much with himself that he fails to recognize that the scaleless proletarians are content.
Rainbow Fish fears changes from the lifestyle he is accustomed to, in turn reflecting on the
materialistic values held by the bourgeoisie. The material things in Rainbow Fish s life have total
control over his

What Is The Tone Of Wide Sargasso Sea
In this passage from Jean Rhys novel, Wide Sargasso Sea, Antoinette and her newlywed, Rochester,
travel to their honeymoon estate, Granbois. The two are relatively unfamiliar with each other, so
the excerpt features Rochester s initial perceptions of Antoinette, the woman with whom he would
spend the rest of his life. In surveying the land around him, Rhys connects the wilderness of the
Caribbeanisland to the girl riding alongside the Englishman; in Rochesters mind, Antoinette

TTL Specifications And Boolean Function
EE 118 Fall 2016 Lab C TTL Specifications and Boolean Function Anthony Lam SJSU ID:
009971065 Instructor: Jiehuan Wang September 18, 2017 Abstract The purpose of this was to
study the characteristics of TTL (Transistor to Transistor Logic) logic gates, their output types,
and Boolean logic. Our first step was to test the output of the hex inverter gate and later, we
connected more chips and measured the output of each individual chip. Introduction Transistors
are the building blocks of logic design, and these transistors are used to form what is known as
logic gates. There are logic gates: AND, OR, XOR, NOT, NAND, NOR, and XNOR, where NAND
and NOR are universal gates since they can be combined to form any gate. A gate functions

Book Reports On Number The Stars By Lois Lowry
The year is 1939. Germans are killing over 12,000 Jews daily because of their beliefs. In this
book, Number The Stars by Lois Lowry, everyone needs to use bravery to help them face their
fears. This book shows how risky people need to be to protect themselves from the growing Nazi
party. Annemarie, Ellen, and Uncle Henrik were the ones who did the most to help the dying
Jewish population. Annemarie is a Danish 10 year old girl who is Ellen s best friend. Annmarie
used significant amounts gut and intelligence when of she broke off Ellen s Star of David

into Annmarie s house to see if there was any Jewish people in her house. Annmarie was brave

What Is Segmentation and Marketing Strategy
Segmentation
Segmentation may be defined as the process of dividing a heterogeneous market into homogeneous
sub units.
To get a product or service to the right person or company, a marketer would firstly segment the
market, then target a single segment or series of segments, and finally position within the
segment(s).
Segmentation is essentially the identification of subsets of buyers within a market who share
similar needs and who demonstrate similar buyer behavior. Segmentation aims to match groups of
purchasers with the same set of needs and buyer behavior. Such a group is known as a segment .
Importance of segmentation
The essence of the marketing concept is the idea of placing customer needs at the centre of ... Show

Is it easy for you to target and reach your segment? Can they be reached with basic communication
tools such as radio and TV advertising? If you cannot target your segment effectively with
marketing communication then it is not viable. The marketer must be able to reach the segment. It
is no good identifying a potential segment if you cannot serve it because of government regulations
or location, etc.
3. Suitability of segment: Is there enough spending power within the segment for the company to
sustain itself.?
4. Meaningful The base(s) used must lead to segments, which have different preferences or needs
and show clear variations in market behaviour, and response to individually designed marketing
mixes.
5. Substantial The base(s) used should lead to segments, which are sufficiently large to be
economically and practically worthwhile, serving as discrete market targets with a distinctive
marketing mix. It must be large enough to warrant activity on the part of the marketer. In the
extreme example above, the woman with green hair could not be described as a substantial segment.
6. Actionability of segment: Does the organisation have enough resources to reach their segments?.
It is no point in targeting segments you do not have the resources to cater for. If you were a car
manufacturer the organisation

Police Relations with Minority Ethnic Communities Essay
Police Relations with Minority Ethnic Communities
The Macpherson report was published in 1999 amidst problems of racial inequality and a lack of
faith in the police amongst minority ethnic communities. There is an ongoing debate on whether
Macpherson s report was a help or a hindrance with regards to minority ethnic relations and the
police; it is this dispute that the essay shall examine. To begin with the paper will look at the
problems, which existed prior to Sir William Macpherson s publication and which led to the
publication of his report. It will then proceed to examine the failures of the Scarman report, in
order to look at both the prior problems and failures regarding the 1981 Scarman ... Show more

The Bradford riots in 1995, and other public outcries showed the growing animosity that was
being felt toward the police by minority ethnic communities. Another factor, which led the
opinions of minority ethnic citizens of the police to become additionally hostile, is the ever
advancing statistical and research evidence of racism within the police force. In 1978 Stuart
Hall et al showed most clearly how, largely on the basis of pre existing stereotypes minority
ethnic people (in particular black people) were being criminalized and subjected to extraordinary
policing and punishment. Both these factors increased the feelings of hatred for the police
amongst minority ethnic communities. This was then furthered by the subsequent failings of the
Scarman report. These included his failure to explain properly in his report the main reason why
black people were so angry with the police this was to do with the oppressive policing that they
were being subjected to. He was unsuccessful in looking at police powers (particularly stop and
search) (Bridges 1982, Howe 1988 cited in Bowling et al 2002) and most importantly he failed to
take a proper account of institutional racism . Consequently because of the growing

Essay on American Education in the 1800 s
American Education in the 1800 s
In the early 1800 s education in America grew and developed rapidly, largely because of the works
of three very important men: Noah Webster, William McGuffey, and Horace Mann. These three
men were catalysts for the growth of education throughout the nineteenth century, and without them
the large strides America took during this time would not have occurred. These great men all shared
one goal: to educate the youth of America as well as possible. This was no small task, however,
because the educational system in place was disorganized and had several large problems that had
to be overcome.
The task of correcting the many problems that faced education in the early 1800 s required the

The book was such a success that it was used in classrooms for almost one hundred years
(www.ctstateu.edu). Noah Webster s greatest accomplishment was writing the first truly American
dictionary. The book took more than 27 years to complete, and among the nearly 70,000 words
featured in it were truly American words, such as skunk and chowder (www.christianlaw.com). This
book was the work of a lifetime for Webster, and his name is now nearly synonymous with any
modern American dictionary.
Another great contributor to the spread of American educational tools was William McGuffey,
author of the widely spread series, Peerless Pioneer Readers. This series of writings was used in
every state of the Union and had a very obvious effect on students in American schools
(lib.muohio.edu). Along with creating such influential educational tools, McGuffey also taught at
several prestigious institutions of higher learning, such as Ohio University and Miami University
(www.hfmgv.org). With such a widespread influence caused by not only his educational series but
his teaching across the Midwest, it s no surprise that McGuffey is considered one of the instigators
of the rapid improvement of the educational system in America.

Rhetorical Analysis Of Barbara Ehrenreich s Nickel And Dimed
A primary source is often the best kind. For best selling author, Barbara Ehrenreich, this means
going undercover as a Jerry s Sub shop waitress in order to gain firsthand knowledge for her
book Nickel and Dimed, a study of the working poor in the United States. In the chapter Serving
in Florida of her book, Ehrenreich narrates this experience. Through an extensive array of
rhetorical devices, Ehrenreich satirically argues the hard truth that life in the working poor class
is far from perfect. She establishes her argument by opening the chapter with a repulsive
description of Jerry s Sub shop, she then satirizes and exposes the daily life of the working poor,

this question, Ehrenreich mocks her coworker s joy. This satirical rendition, of what was a
happy moment for her coworker, further highlights the sad life of a blue collar worker. Besides
rhetorical questions, Ehrenreich also alludes to television commercials. In her explanation of
why blue collar workers cannot take leave, Ehrenreich refers to an Aleve commercial. She
describes the commercial as one in which the cute blue collar guy asks: If you quit after
working four hours, what would your boss say? And the not so cute blue collar guy . . .
answers: He d fire me (181). By referring to this commercial, she adds a sense of humor to her

because the reader can now associate the worker s lives with a humorous commercial they may

Causes Of The Los Angeles Riots
The twentieth century brought with it many conflicts, such as both World Wars, the Great
Depression, and civil unrest, the latter of which its effects can still be seen today. The Civil Rights
Movement of the sixties, paved the way for more demonstrations during the last quarter of the
twentieth century. One of the greatest of these demonstrations was the Los AngelesRiots (commonly
known as the Rodney KingRiots) of nineteen ninety two. The Civil Rights Movement had a goal,
which was to end segregation and discrimination of African Americans, and to try to improve the
wellbeing by integrating both communities. This movement had led to many others, both peaceful
and violent. However, the goal between them all was the same. There has been many conflicts in
the past between African Americans and the Anglo community, where most were caused due to the
discrimination or taking out the anger they had after seeing themselves being treated a certain way.
Before the riots, racial tensions had already risen. There was lots of gang related activity and crime
in the poor communities of Los Angeles, where many were unemployed. These communities were
common to drug sweeps, where more than eighty officers tore apart a pair of apartment buildings,
leaving dozens homeless (History.com).
On the night of March third, nineteen ninety one, King had high levels of alcohol in his blood, due
to drinking. He had been involved in a pursuit by the police department of Los Angeles. As King

Cultural And Artistic Values And The Success Of Big Brother
An overview of cultural and artistic values which contribute to the success of Big Brother
By
Hasanein K Amori
Big Brother is an example of a distinctive game doc that caused a transitional stage to traditional
documentary and reality genre. Therefore, this essay will delve into its artistic and cultural value
that award the show this distinction. The work will approach different dimensions evaluating the
programme through a hierarchy of concepts. It will first approach the base of the hierarchy and
explain reality Tv genre as a covering topic that Big Brother related to. Then, it will introduce a
brief overview of the show structure. Subsequently, the work will briefly address the art of the
dramatic elements and the production and budget aspect. Finally, it will mainly focus on the
cultural appeal of Big Brother to its audience.
Big Brother programme is categorised as a reality TV show. However, The term of reality TV is
significantly broad. The reality TV is a representation of realism or actual aspects in different
forms and modes composing one genre. It is in effect a contrast to imaginary to refer to the
existence world in contrast to the fantasy world. Bignel (2005, P:61) clarified that The artificiality
of the scenario in some reality Tv programmes is countered by their use of non actor participants,
no scripts and a temporal progression which is close to the linear unfolding of lived daily time.

Marc Lepine Insane Cases
Throughout history, there have been many criminals who used the insanity defence to receive a
fair trial, but some of of these people were not actually insane. However, in the case the 1989
Montreal massacre, Canadian journalists medicalized Marc Lepine s deviance in their writing
techniques to divert the public s attention from the event. According to Horwitz (1981), the
medicalization of criminal behaviour refers to the tendency to define deviance as a manifestation
of an underlying sickness, to find the causes of deviance within the individual rather than in the
social structure. . . (p. 750). The type of deviances that can be viewed under the term
medicalization is mental sickness and child abuse. For example, some journalists referred... Show

of completing a full earning process. The aspect of revenue recognition principle usually holds out
that diverse companies should book or record the revenue when it is earned and not when received
because the flow of cash in the company or firm does not have any relation to the revenue

other hand, however, the losses should be fully recognized or realized when their occurrence

conservatism, yet brings it into conflict with the constraint of consistency, in that reflecting
revenues or the gains is inconsistent with the way in which losses are reflected (Ammons).

later when the card asks us in the final question, how many plums can the farmer produce? This is
yet again framing as it starts with the same letter as pear and contains the same amount of letters. If

It also goes against the requirement of a medical committee member to promote education

avoiding harm and helping others. Although he treated his patients in a lackadaisical manner, he
demonstrated his gifted surgical abilities with the ultimate goal to heal them. Even when he is
diagnosed with cancer and scheduled to receive radiation therapy, he s concerned about missing
his scheduled surgeries and continues to go to work despite his sickness. In the beginning of the

The Art of Competition for College Students
During our daily routine, we see many different individuals. We can only wonder where they
come from, who they are, and what they are doing here. Unfortunately, people tend to forget who
are around them because our eyes are solely glued onto a small screen or too distracted by the
sounds of music pulsating through their ears. People nowadays are fixated on discovering what
their purpose is. By being a college student, you are entitled to just studying and doing well in
school because we all want a great job later on. The pressure of competition comes into play and
how it is so difficult to pursue a career knowing that another individualcan have it. The
requirements that are expected from people develop into more self seeking individuals.
Competition for having a career becomes very stressful and exhausting. Long hours of studying,
restless nights are all attributes of what a college student goes through. With California alone, there
is an unemployment rate of 8.9% as of August 2013. Fear just forms within a student s mind when
they think about what their future may consist of. Questions run through their mind of whether or
not they will ever be in that unemployment rate or will a career lead them to never landing in that
percentage. People are like ants carrying the leaves or stuff found along the way towards their

men to have power over women and as Foucalt says demonstrates the power of the imagined

The trope is flawed within the sense that when a spectator watches they adhere to the images and

Professional Goals Of Becoming A United States Army Officer
In life I ve experienced the roller coaster of great success, and great failure. Freezing in the back of
a car in early January. Kicked out of my home and nowhere to turn, this was by far the lowest
point in my life. I vowed to never be there again. Therefore, a week later I was in a recruiting
office for the united states army. Since then I ve obtained the Professional goal of becoming a
commissioned officer. My personal goals are as follows: Become educated, become well spoken
and to travel the world. I wantto become a leader of men. It s been that way ever since I was in
high school. At the age of sixteen I was behind the scenes leader of stage crew, The state treasurer
for Colorado Technology Student association. All while keeping up in my studies. I want to
continue my studies to achieve my current goals.
The only way I can achieve my goals is to achieve a bachelor s degree in a field of my choice. I
have chosen Colorado State University Global for a few reasons. The first is to follow in the
footsteps of my father. The second is I believe that a business management degree with an
emphasis on project management will relate closest to my current occupation. As of right now I
m a Private in the Army, but with a degree I can achieve a higher rank. To become an effective
leader, you also need to be able to communicate with members of your team. Going through classes
that require you to put your ideas, and what you learn on paper it forces you to better communicate

The United States Dollar
Although they are such small slips of paper and lumps of metal, they are highly valued in the eyes
of society. In the United States and all around the world, money plays a powerful role in the lives of
many. Nevertheless, money comes in many different forms: the European euro, the Indian rupee,
the Chinese yuan, the Swiss franc, and the list continues on. Of course, in America, the United
States dollaris most often used. As a major form of currency, the United States dollar can be used
to purchase nearly anything as long as the buyer has enough of it. Ever since 1862, greenbacks
have been used as legal tender in this country ( From the Colonies ), but coins have been officially
part of the country s monetary system since the Coinage Act... Show more content on

Canada is an easy country to relate to because it borders America and has a similar currency
system in place. In Canada, each penny cost 1.6 cents to produce, which is very similar to
America s situation (Canada). However, in 2012, Canada decided to stop their production of their
penny because they were losing too much money on a coin that only few use anymore (Sommer).
In fact, Canada reports that they lost 11 million Canadian dollars each year due to its production
(Canada). To adjust to this sudden change, Canada looked at the plans of other countries who have
also gotten rid of currency that cost too much to produce, like Sweden and New Zealand

The Conservation Of The Natural Resources
Natural resources include everything that the Earth provides that we need to live and survive.
Knowing the importance of the natural resources to human life we must be aware that natural
resources cannot be replenished once they have been depleted. We need to be very cautious that
some natural resources we use are more easily renewed than others (Media: 1.5 Resource, n.d.).
We need to be aware that we are responsible in the use and protection of the world around us
through proper conservation and sustainable practices and that our mission needs to safeguard and
protect the Earth: its people, its animals and plants and the natural systems on which all life
depends. Sustainability will help us to create an environment that will sustain life on Earth for
longer than our own lifetimes. However, the practice of sustainability is more difficult, and we need
to ask ourselves how we can make our environmental footprint smaller?
Richard Rogers, a British architect, says, The only way forward, if we are going to improve the
quality of the environment, is to get everybody involved. That is why we need to look for ways to
get involved and do everything in our power to ensure a better future for us and the future
generations. We need to set specific targets for continuous reduction in environmental impact and
create a plan for a sustainable future.
My environmental action plan is a step towards creating a more sustainable world and to get
people involved in making a difference

Earliest Memory Research Paper
I don t really know what my first memory is, but I do know that one of my earliest memories is
me, along with my mom, my cousins, my aunts and uncles, crossing a stream in Pauwegaude.
Pauwegaude is the village where my dad grew up. It s where my dad learned to do homework using
candle light. It s where my dad s familyhad lived for eighty years in a mud home, it s where that
mud home still stands today.
My entire family and I were on our way to this mighty mud home for Dashain. Dashain is one of
the biggest holidays in Nepal where entire families gather to celebrate the win of good over evil.
Of course, we were the traditional Nepali family so the entire day was dedicated to just that. Once
we reached home, after all of the hugs and comments ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I am beyond grateful for these sacrifices that my parents made... but there is still a gap, and I m not
the only one who feels it.
I have friends at my high school whose parents work as researchers or professors at the Colorado
University of Boulder. My mom? My mom along with a whole consort of other Nepali mothers,
works at a dining hall of the university.
I have friends at my high school who can talk about their parents, their siblings, their neighbors
going to Ivy Leagues, but for the Nepali kids I have grown up with the conversation around
college is completely different. It s a matter of if I go to this college, how will I afford it? How
will it affect my parents, will I still be able to support them, what about my siblings? The cost of
education start to outweigh its actual value.
As heavy as some of these topics sound, all of these struggles that I have had to think through have
changed me for the better though. They have made me more mindful of the privileges I have, more
grateful of all that my parents have done for me, and more humble about my mud home planted

Lean Six Sigma And Benchmarking
Quality is a measure of excellence that conforms to requirements and free from defects in a service
or product and which meets the standards for a customer. Benchmarking is a method to compare
the key metrics of their day to day operation with other companies in the same industry
(Marksberry, 2011). This helps the companies to identify how they are performing, how they can
improve their processes and systems and in turn become more competitive. Benching marking is a
method to understand how to get the best performance in an organization, by the competitor or a
different business and information obtained in this process, is used identify the gaps in the
operations of the business. Six Sigmaand Benchmarking currently is the practical and cost effective
way to bring in the industry best practices to the company (Ray Das, 2010).

It is important to have a thorough understanding of the processes, systems and operations of an
organisation before we start using the benchmarking tool. The organisations have strict policies
around the information to be procured and whom the practitioners can get in touch with, to get the
information. Benchmarking is not about making inquiries to other organisations or documenting
their processes and systems. A business should not limit its range in its own industry. It focuses on
the industry best practices and works on continuous improvements, sharing the knowledge and
information, strive to sustain a competitive edge and keeps on adapting to new changes based on
the customer preferences. It focuses on irrelevant actions, inefficient actions and Gap Activities to

Economic Crisis
Stabilization in the Wake of Economic Crisis Perhaps the most significant reason Pittsburgh was
able to recover from the collapse of steel was the decision, made early on by city officials and local
developers, to seek out new industries rather than cling to the vestiges of the old. Beginning in
1981, the Allegheny Conference (ACC), a non profit coalition of local business and political
leaders, made economic diversification their primary goal. The conference established a committee
whose sole task was to promote new industries. The committee s chairman said, at the outset, we
must diversify...this time we must build new industries, new jobs. Over the next decade, the ACC
helped secure financing for development projects throughout the... Show more content on

Symbolic of the success of that initiative, in 1990, Pittsburgh succeeded in capturing a $370 M
investment in from the Sony Corporation to build their two newest television manufacturing plants.
Overall, these measures to stabilize Pittsburgh s economy were remarkably successful. Between
1982 and 1990, Pittsburgh s employment rate dropped 12.6% (from 17% to 4.6%). For the
remainder of the decade, the unemployment rate hovered В±0.5% compared to the national average.
Thus, the successes of the late 1980s gave Pittsburgh had the breathing room to pursue longer
lasting, economically sustainable reform. New Pittsburgh (1986 Present) Much of the success of
the mid/late 1980s were the result of massive economic stimulation measures rather than organic
growth. Therefore, after the city recovered from the collapse of the early 1980s, city officials and
local developers continued their plans for further economic development. City officials used the
successes of the late 1980s as a springboard to create the highly diversified economy necessary for
sustained economic growth. Since 1990, the focus of economic growth in Pittsburgh has been in
three largely codependent sectors: education, healthcare, and high technology. Higher Education

Effects Of Chemistry On The Environment
There is no doubt that our knowledge of science and scientific procedures have changed over time.
As new tools and technologies that appeared during the 20th century, chemistry, physics, biology,
and other sciences were able to grow and develop at a faster pace. These advances in science have
helped humanity by increasing living standards and have brought more widespread wellness to
society. For instance, because of the existence of chemistry, society has been provided with more
advanced medicine, fabrics for clothes, plastics, rubber, componds of personal care products, parts
of cars, home appliances, computers and more. Society has benefited from chemistry; however, our
environment is harmed by the consequences of chemistry as well. Many chemicals are used to
improve the quality of our lives, and most are not harmful to the environment or human health.
However, some chemicals have the potential to cause harm... (Government of Canada, 2011).
The consequence of these modern innovations is that the chemical industry has had extremely
harmful consequences on the environment. The emissions of greenhouse gases and the greenhouse
effect, water pollution, the decrease of biodiversity and the impact on human health are consistent
and growing effects of the chemical industry and its activities. When chemicals are manufactured,
consumed or thrown away, they are able to infiltrate not just the water cycle but also the air and
even the ground soil. Depending on the number of polluting

Gender Roles In Why Women Smile By Paul Theroux
Gender roles perceived through societal pressures are revealed and examined in the articles Why
Women Smile, by Amy Cunningham and Being a Man, written by Paul Theroux. Cunningham
conveys her view on the smile often seen on women and describes how it can veil several other
emotions due to gender roles and stereotypes. On the other hand, Theroux explains his stance on the
meaning behind Being a Manand how it constraints men to an emotionally damaging set of
characteristics and expectations. Although Cunningham and Theroux voice their opinion on either
gender, their responses are similar as they describe the effect the strong relationship between
society and gender roles has on an individual.
In the article, Why Women Smile, Cunningham conveys how she believes smiles to be, not the
small and innocuous things they appear to be... (172). Cunningham analyzes the various reasonings
behind the smiling women throughout our history and the world. For example, she reports that the
Japanese smile is often conveyed to hide sadness. This smile was often expressed in their history if
a wife s husband was a samurai who died in battle. She notes that, Women are expected to smile no
matter where they line up on the social, cultural, or economic ladder (174). Cunningham goes into
further detail on the trademarked American smile. She discovers that social pressures on women to
continually smile began with the advertising of smiling females. Eventually, this lead the smiling

Internally Displaced Person
Preamble:
For decades, they were largely ignored and forgotten, but together they probably comprise the
world‟s largest group of vulnerable people. Currently, there are an estimated 30 million of them
in at least 50 countries living amidst war and persecution. They have little legal or physical
protection and a very uncertain future outcasts in their own countries. Bureaucratically, they are
described as IDPs or „internally displaced persons.‟ In the real world, they are civilians,
mostly women and children, who have been forced to abandon their homes because of conflict or
persecution to seek safety elsewhere. The idea and the phenomenon of internal displacement are not
recent. According to United Nations Office for the Coordination ... Show more content on

human rights or natural or human made disasters, and who have not crossed an internationally

Refugee vs. IDPs
Both groups often leave their homes for similar reasons. Civilians are recognized as
„refugees‟ when they cross an international frontier to seek sanctuary in another country. The
internally displaced, for whatever reason, remain in their own states. Newly arrived refugees
normally receive food, shelter and a place of safety from the host country. A well defined body of
international laws and conventions protects them. The UN refugee agency and other humanitarian
organizations work within this legal framework to

Effective Classroom Interaction And Pupil Management
Assignment 1 Effective lessons in IT Classroom interaction and pupil management Meeting
individual differences Helping pupils learn Assessment The school curriculum and society What
is an effective teacher? An effective teacher is a pupil manager that can aid personalised
learning and classroom interaction. They are someone who meets individual s needs and
reduces teacher dependency. They understand the concepts of learning. The successful teacher
cares, the successful teacher teaches well and the successful teacher manages well
(Marlands(1993, p.6 7). Graham et al. (2001) number one principle for an effective teacher is to
encourage student faculty contact. This stood out as it is a little absurd compared to other lists
and descriptions of what teachers should be. However it does make sense, looking back at your
school days you do associate a subject with a faculty and the efficiency of that faculty, especially
at GCSE, AS and A level stages when you rely on those faculties the most. Graham et al. (2001)
study showed that students that weren t responded to quickly would feel ignored and faculty
expectations would be decreased, showing a lack of trust and therefore wanting to learn by the
subject. One of the main arguments behind good understanding is the argument for independent
learning as opposed to teacher dependency. Overall Sangster (2007, p.94) state that one of the
hardest but most creditable achievements of a teacher is to help a student along the road to being

Coming of age books are often thought of as something to dive into it something to enjoy,
something to just read. One might think of these books as a great source of entertainment;

Ponyboy showed that he can overcome loss of hope when he saved the children from the
burning church. Initially, before the church burned, it was an empty church where Pony and
Johnny hid from the law; moreover, the empty church shows that not only are the greasers
facing loss of hope, but the whole world is too. The burning church full of children forces Pony
to mature because he couldn t just leave it and pretend it never happened; Pony and Johnny had
to become the hope. When facing a deadly situation, they had the choice to either take the
initiative and help the children, or to leave them; them choosing and making that huge decision
caused them to come of age. Similarly,, we see Arnold face and solve a plethora of problems

Thyroidism Case Study Essay
During the review of this scenario it was concluded based on laboratory test that were ran that the
nurse was experiencing hyperthyroidism. The nurse came in due to abnormal symptoms that she
was experiencing, symptoms which are often associated with thyroid problems. This lead to the
healthcare providers running test to check her thyroid. Hyperthyroidismis when a person s thyroid
gland produces an excess amount of thyroid hormonethan is necessary for the human s body.
Since the hormone is so prevalent in the body and is in control of the bodies energy, if there is a
deficiency or surplus of thyroid hormone it will vastly alter the way the body works. When
checking for hypothyroidism or hyperthyroidism it is often know to run a serum T4 and serum
T3 test. The T4 test is a test that is ran to check the amount of thyroxine that is present in the
person s blood. The T4 levels have a normal range of 4.6 to 12 ug/dL. The nurse test results
showed that her T4 was 15.6 ug/dL which is above the normal range and a sign of
hyperthyroidism. The next test ran was a T3 serum test, this test measures the amount of
triiodothyronine in the blood. The serum T3 levels have a normal range of 80... Show more content

Due to the concept that I choose, I gained a better understanding on how much influence the
executive branch has over the people. The reason why secondary position exerts a strong
influence over the people, is due to how close they are to their constituents. Using the state of
California as an example, the executive branch is entrusted with implementing the laws that are
passed from the national to federal level, and if it was not for the governor of California being in
sync with the people. Any proposed law that was passed from the national level would ve not

Domestic Violence Memoir Furthermore, factors that contribute to the beginning of violence against an intimate partner is emphasized by both literary texts, correlating with the reality of domestic violence in modern society. The thoughts of conducting abuse may arise in the subconscious mind of a person due to several influences, such as witnessing abuse as a child or mental illnesses, without the person s intent; however, the choice to carry out the act still lies in the hands of the individual. Those who violate women once continue their abuse for extended periods of time, rarely ever being able to change. While some abusers carry traditional beliefs, others may feel [the] need to control their partner because of low self esteem, extreme jealousy, difficulties in regulating anger and other strong emotions, or when they feel inferior to the other partner in education and socioeconomic background (Goldsmith). Abusers may often develop a subconscious state of mind which prompts them to take control of the relationship and their partner in order to feel better about themselves. The criticism that they carry for themselves, usually as a result of insecurities, can cause them to project it onto their domestic partners in many cases in order to relieve the negativity that they feel about themselves. In the movie Provoked, the initial incident of domestic abuse begins when Deepak becomes jealous of Kiranjit s interactions with another man, and as a result of his uncontrolled emotions, he slaps her: Oh my god, I m so sorry. I love you so much. I just can t stand to see you with anyone else. Oh my god, I m sorry (Provoked). • 5. Teens and Minimum Legal Drinking Age (MLDA) Essay Introduction For many years, underage drinking in America has been a very controversial topic. However, because of the many discrepancies that some US state representatives have added to the federal underage law, this subject will hardly be solved or going away, anytime soon. Proponents argue The current underage drinking law of 21, has not stopped teen drinking, and has instead pushed underage binge drinking into private and less controlled environments, leading to more health and life endangering behavior by teens (ProCon, 2012, para. 2). Therefore, the minimum legal drinking age for teens should be lowered from 21, to 18. On the other hand, Opponents of lowering the MLDA argue that teens have not yet reached an age where ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The strongest reasons in favor of Proponents: If teens are responsible enough to serve in the military, then why are they not responsible enough to drink alcohol? Opponents contend that: (1) Lowering the MLDA will see an increase in injuries and death resulting from car crashes; (2) Long term alcohol abuse causes serious health problems in teens when compared to teens that do not drink alcohol; and, (3) Teens that drink alcohol are involved in a higher rate of assaults than teens that do not drink alcohol. Opponents also argue that teens who abuse alcohol: (4) Are more apt to commit suicide, than teens who do not abuse alcohol; (5) Are involved in a significant amount of non vehicular homicides, than teens that do not drink alcohol; (6) Have a higher chance of being sexually and physically abused by friends and strangers than non drinking teens. Strongest argument in favor of Opposition is that, traffic fatalities decreased when the MLDA increased (ProCon, 2012). I maintain for this argument that: Although MLDA does not effectively prevent teens from drinking alcohol or from drinking in inappropriate locations, it does however set the legal standard that allows for accountability for the risky and dangerous behaviors that are often associated with underage drinking. Refugees In Camps During The Refugee Crisis During the refugee crisis there was some international governmental and non governmental aid for the refugees in the country still those 350 000 400 000 (vidi pogore) were enormous burden for Macedonian economy. That was third reason for accommodating refugees in camps instead incorporating them in the society. Their potential influence on Macedonians economy and establishing refugees camps can be observed thru the possible impact on local and national economy. Because these two factors are very closely connected they will be elaborated and overviewed simultaneously. Refugees escaping from ethnic cleansing were arriving in Macedonia only with few necessities, and were relaying on Aid from host nation. In that time the biggest economy issue for Macedonian government was unemployment, statistic said that around 32% of the population was unemployed, or around 350 000 people. So people in order to survive were working on black market, and without insurance. At some level that was tolerated from the government because it was providing existence for people and social peace in the country. Black market and working without insurance had a big influence for local and national economy. Major concern for government if refugees were incorporated into the society was that these 350 000 400 000 refugees, in conditions of no income was more than possible that they would seek for job in the country on black market. Hurst uses the word remember to emphasize the fact that Doodle is no long around. Readers do not know what happened to Doodle, but begin to suspect the answer. In the next paragraph the narrator says, Doodle was just about the craziest brother a boy ever had (Hurst 1). In this quote, Hurst uses past tense words such as was and had to once again show that this was in the past. Hurst s word choices foreshadow Doodle s death and sparks interest in the readers at the very beginning. Foreshadowing is used at the beginning of the story to draw readers into the story and help keep their interest. Hurst utilizes foreshadowing to demonstrate how the brother s selfishness and pride leads to the death of Doodle. Not long after Doodle was born, the mother explains to the brother that Doodle might be mentally handicapped as well as physically handicapped. The brother could not accept the fact that his brother is different, so he began to make plans to kill him [Doodle] by smothering him in his sleep (Hurst 1). But, at a closer look this story reveals that is in fact a criticism on society enveloping itself in the Marxist theory. Marxism focuses on the effects of the separation of wealth... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He puts an extremely high value on his possessions. In turn, because of this high value, these possessions determine his self worth. An example of this commodification shows in the story where all of the other fish begin to ignore Rainbow Fish because he refuses to share. In the text, it states, What good were the dazzling, shimmering scales with no one to admire them? Now he was the loneliest fish in the entire ocean (Pfister 10). Commodification is prevalent as Rainbow Fish selfishly only focuses on himself. He does not want the scales for their usefulness, he only wants them when other fish are there to admire them. Rainbow Fish only wants the scales if they give him a higher social status. If no one is there to compliment him, then the scales mean nothing to him. Additionally, Rainbow Fish exhibits commodification when he thinks about giving away his scales. Rainbow Fish states, Give away my scales? My beautiful shining scales? Never. How could I ever be happy without them (Pfister 16). Rainbow Fish allows material items to impact his life so greatly that they determine his happiness. Rainbow Fish is so commodified that even the thought of giving away his scales triggers unhappiness and worry. Rather than basing happiness off of good works and personality, he bases it off of how much material he has. He infatuates so much with himself that he fails to recognize that the scaleless proletarians are content. Rainbow Fish fears changes from the lifestyle he is accustomed to, in turn reflecting on the materialistic values held by the bourgeoisie. Our first step was to test the output of the hex inverter gate and later, we connected more chips and measured the output of each individual chip. Introduction Transistors are the building blocks of logic design, and these transistors are used to form what is known as logic gates. There are logic gates: AND, OR, XOR, NOT, NAND, NOR, and XNOR, where NAND and NOR are universal gates since they can be combined to form any gate. A gate functions ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

To get a product or service to the right person or company, a marketer would firstly segment the market, then target a single segment or series of segments, and finally position within the segment(s). Segmentation is essentially the identification of subsets of buyers within a market who share similar needs and who demonstrate similar buyer behavior. The Bradford riots in 1995, and other public outcries showed the growing animosity that was being felt toward the police by minority ethnic communities. Another factor, which led the opinions of minority ethnic citizens of the police to become additionally hostile, is the ever advancing statistical and research evidence of racism within the police force. In 1978 Stuart Hall et al showed most clearly how, largely on the basis of pre existing stereotypes minority ethnic people (in particular black people) were being criminalized and subjected to extraordinary policing and punishment. Both these factors increased the feelings of hatred for the police amongst minority ethnic communities. This was then furthered by the subsequent failings of the Scarman report. These included his failure to explain properly in his report the main reason why black people were so angry with the police this was to do with the oppressive policing that they were being subjected to. Essay on American Education in the 1800 s American Education in the 1800 s In the early 1800 s education in America grew and developed rapidly, largely because of the works of three very important men: Noah Webster, William McGuffey, and Horace Mann. These three men were catalysts for the growth of education throughout the nineteenth century, and without them the large strides America took during this time would not have occurred. These great men all shared one goal: to educate the youth of America as well as possible. The Civil Rights Movement of the sixties, paved the way for more demonstrations during the last quarter of the twentieth century. One of the greatest of these demonstrations was the Los AngelesRiots (commonly known as the Rodney KingRiots) of nineteen ninety two. Knowing the importance of the natural resources to human life we must be aware that natural resources cannot be replenished once they have been depleted. We need to be very cautious that some natural resources we use are more easily renewed than others (Media: 1.5 Resource, n.d.). We need to be aware that we are responsible in the use and protection of the world around us through proper conservation and sustainable practices and that our mission needs to safeguard and protect the Earth: its people, its animals and plants and the natural systems on which all life depends. Sustainability will help us to create an environment that will sustain life on Earth for longer than our own lifetimes. However, the practice of sustainability is more difficult, and we need to ask ourselves how we can make our environmental footprint smaller? Richard Rogers, a British architect, says, The only way forward, if we are going to improve the quality of the environment, is to get everybody involved. That is why we need to look for ways to get involved and do everything in our power to ensure a better future for us and the future generations. On the other hand, Theroux explains his stance on the meaning behind Being a Manand how it constraints men to an emotionally damaging set of characteristics and expectations. Effective Classroom Interaction And Pupil Management Assignment 1 Effective lessons in IT Classroom interaction and pupil management Meeting individual differences Helping pupils learn Assessment The school curriculum and society What is an effective teacher? An effective teacher is a pupil manager that can aid personalised learning and classroom interaction. They are someone who meets individual s needs and reduces teacher dependency. They understand the concepts of learning. The successful teacher cares, the successful teacher teaches well and the successful teacher manages well (Marlands(1993, p.6 7). Graham et al. (2001) number one principle for an effective teacher is to encourage student faculty contact. This stood out as it is a little absurd compared to other lists and descriptions of what teachers should be. However it does make sense, looking back at your school days you do associate a subject with a faculty and the efficiency of that faculty, especially at GCSE, AS and A level stages when you rely on those faculties the most. Graham et al. (2001) study showed that students that weren t responded to quickly would feel ignored and faculty expectations would be decreased, showing a lack of trust and therefore wanting to learn by the subject. One of the main arguments behind good understanding is the argument for independent learning as opposed to teacher dependency.
