Visual Management, Single Minute Exchange Of Die ( Smed )...
Introduction:
In today s world, opening or managing a company is very difficult. The Economic crisis, heavy
taxation and barriers of entrance in some countries, make it more difficult. But all blame can t be
given to external factors. Most of the times the critical factors are inside the company. So what is
the right way of managing a company? In this assignment I studied and analyzed three tools that
can help me and are fundamental to success in this business world that is ruled by time and
efficiency.
The tools I selected are: Visual Management, Single Minute Exchange of Die (SMED) and Value
Stream Mapping.
VISUAL MANAGEMENT:
In order to continuously improve and progress as an organization, people need to observe,
communicate and sharing information. The visual management is a strategy that make information
easier to interpret and immediately available. Is such an intuitive strategy, many people don t even
realize that they used it in their daily lives and despites this prevalent outside of work place most
of organizations don t know how to take follow advantage of it. The simplicity of visual
management causes many people to overlook its usefulness.

Wireless LAN Benefits and Applications
INTRODUCTION
Wireless networking has numerous benefits. Productivity remarkably enhances due to the higher
accessibility to the information resource. Network configuration as well as reconfiguration
becomes easier, quicker, and overall less expensive. Nonetheless, this technology also poses new
threats as well as brings change in the already existing profile of risk in the information security.
Explaining this terminology, as we all know that the communication occurs through the air utilizing
the radio frequencies, the inception risk are higher in comparison to the wired networks. In case the
messages are not encrypted, or just encrypted having a relatively weak algorithm, then the attacker
could very well read it, hence compromising the confidentiality of the data. Though, the wireless
networking changes the integrated risks with the various threats towards the security, the objectives
of overall security remain all the same as they are with the wired networks: confidentiality
preservation, ensuring integrity as well as maintaining the availability of information including
information systems. This paper deals in assisting the concerned users of the wireless technology in
performing sound decisions by inculcating them along with the basic understanding related to the
some associated threats with the wireless networking as well as their countermeasures.
The wide popularity of the wireless Networks is quite a testament relating primarily to their
conveniences, cost

Descriptive Essay About Bodybuilding
Often times when people think of bodybuilding they get the impression it s all about how much
weight you can lift, what s your max bench, or how much can you squat. To tell the truth, that s
what I thought it was all about, but sure enough I was wrong. Bodybuilding is all about being
concerned on how your body looks. Having symmetry, muscularity and conditioning that is if you
plan on competing professionally. It s all about engaging the muscleyour working out, getting a
nice squeeze, and having a slow controlled movement. I used to think it was all about working
out, but diet plays a huge key. I decided to spend a day with my brother who goes to the gym on a
regular basis and has competed several of times, and knows a lot more about bodybuildingthan I
do. I am awaken by the sunlight coming from my window as if someone was pointing a flash
light on my eyelids. I grab my phone to check what time it is. My phone reads eight o clock. I
can t recall the last time I woke up this early, especially on a weekend. I struggle to get out of my
nice, cold, and comfortable bed, but I eventually do. As I walk downstairs to the kitchen, I hear
the noise of a knife hitting the cutting board. Breakfast, the most important meal of the day, my
brother says as he cuts the meat. He then gets a measuring cup and fills it with oatmeal, adds a
little bit of water and heats it up for a couple of seconds and takes it right back out. He then begins
adding some honey on top, this is going to

SURYA NAMASKAR 12 POSTURES OF SURYA NAMASKAR
Introduction: Known variously as Surya Namskar or Prostrations to Sun or Sun Salutation, the
Surya Namaskar is one of the best exercises that people can perform. The benefits accruing from
these exercises are unique and excellent. This is a yoga based exercise and it is customary to
perform Surya Namaskar after performing loosening yoga exercises. The human being can be
thought of consisting of pancha kosas (or five sheaths) consisting of the Annamaya (or Body),
Pranamaya (or Breath), Manomaya (or Mind), Vijnanamaya (or Intellect) and Anandamaya (or

Routine Activities Theory
According to the routine activities theory, the cause of crime should not be attributed to social
causes, such as poverty, inequality, and unemployment, rather it holds that crime is the result of
opportunity. The more opportunity there is for crime, the more likely that crime will occur in that
specific area. However, in order for there to be an increased opportunity for crime, the three
necessary conditions of this theory must be present: a likely offender, a suitable target, and the
absence of capable guardianship. Consequently, the routine activities theory is a strong explanation
for crime in Ames, Iowa. According to Area Vibes, Ames has crime rates that are 25% lower than
the Iowa mean and 37% lower than the nation s mean. Yet, while Ames has relatively low crime
rates, crime is not non existent, and poverty, unemployment, and inequality are unsuccessful
attempts to explain it. Home of Iowa State University, Ames ranked third in the nation for Best
College Town last year, and the area continues to grow not only in population, but also in
diversity and opportunity as over 35,000 students pour in from all over the world every year.
Thus, it seems that crime in Ames is best explained by the growing opportunity for crime as the
routine activities theory holds, rather than unfavorable social conditions. In a community with
relatively low crime rates, it can be difficult to point out areas in Ames that are at the most risk for
crime. However, after looking at crime data and

Microsoft Windows The Original Vision For Windows
Microsoft Windows
The original vision for windows was formed by Bill Gates and Paul Allen, a computer on every
desktop in every home (Microsoft, 2014). This vision started to become a reality in June 1981
when Microsoft ships its first computer containing MS DOS. MS DOS was a command line based
operating system where users had to type various commands to complete tasks. However Microsoft
came to the conclusion that this was not a very productive way of doing things and there had to
be an easier way of doing it. And so in November 1985 they released the first version of
Windows, Windows 1.0. For the first time it allowed users to use a mouse to click icons and
interact with windows on the desktop instead of typing in a command line. ... Show more content on

On 24th August 1995 Microsoft released Windows 95 which brought in the era of modems,
faxes, and the internet. Windows 95 had dial up support out of the box and first introduced
revolutionary Plug and Play allowing users to easily be able to install hardware and software. As
well as this users first experienced the famous Windows Start Button . At the time of release
Windows 95 sold 7 million copies and was running on 80% of the world s computers. (Microsoft,
2014)
After Windows 95, users quickly saw Windows 98 and then Windows ME released. Within these
releases Microsoft added support for reading DVD discs and USB support. Various programs
were included as well to allow users to use their computer to carry out more tasks, this included the
System Restore Tool which allowed users to take their computers back before a problem occurred.
(Microsoft, 2014)
Windows XP saw a redesigned look when it was released on 25th October 2001 and became one of
Microsoft most successful releases of all time. Along with Windows XP came remote desktop
support and the ability to encrypt files, as well as security and networking updates. Several other
versions of Windows XP were released which included for the first time a 64 bit processor version
and a tablet version. (Microsoft, 2014)

Comparison Of Townie By Andre Dubus
In Townie: A Memoir by Andre Dubus III, the unfortunate trials and tribulations of a violent and
poverty stricken childhood is described. With the strain of divorced parents and frequent
moves, Dubus vividly describes his experiences of exposure to various environments of drugs,
bullies, and sex. Like his father, Dubus embraces a passion for creative writing as a form of
therapy. The gravity of Dubus s childhood was vital to his growth because of its often fight
afflicted and fatherless times. Bullies and bad boys provoked fear within Dubus, but they also
tempted him to watch fights. He dodged the ring when he could, but was defeated when he was
powerless. He despised himself in both instances, thus making him feel insecure and irrelevant,
There was the non feeling that I had no body, that I had no name, no past and no future, that I
simply was not. I was not here (78). Dubus felt severely insignificant, until... Show more content on

frustration and disappointment in his father. In taking on the role of protector, Dubus fulfilled
the expectation of his father, by protecting himself and others, Like pus from a wound, it was
how he expressed what had to be expressed (191). Dubus found a more productive relief by
expressing himself through creative writing. He revered the works of his father and was inspired
by them. Dubus was able to redirect his focus on school so successfully, because of the discipline
he acquired from strength training and boxing. He became more internal, self aware, and
enlightened. The difficult experiences of Dubus s childhood cultivated him into the adult and writer

Mapping The Bones By Jane Yolen Sparknotes
Author Study: Jane Yolen The books The Devil s Arithmetic and Mapping the Bones by Jane
Yolen, are very similar to each other. In The Devil s Arithmetic Hannah is a Jewish girl from
New York who does not understand why it is important that she acknowledges her Jewish
heritage, that is until she is warped back to World War Two. Now a young girl named Chaya in
Poland, Hannah is taken, along with the family she had just been introduced to, to a labor camp.
After months at the labor camp, Hannah takes the place of her new friend, Rivka, in her way into
the gas chambers; Rivka turns out to be Hannah s aunt in the present. In Mapping the Bones, twins,
Chaim and Gittel, live in a Jewish ghetto during World War Two and plan to escape. Along the way

In The Devil s Arithmetic Hannah experiences this first hand, because while at first she can
remember where she was really from her memories started to fade. When she at last could not
remember anything about her true identity she became very frightened and did not understand what
was happening (The Devil s Arithmetic 100). Hannah experiences the same fear her relatives had
felt when they went through the Holocaust. It is then she realizes the importance of remembering
your past because she had never really realized the suffering they had gone through. This gave her
more respect for what her relatives went through than ever before. Through Hannah s confusion and
horror Yolen conveys the theme that it is important to remember the past. In Mapping the Bones
Yolen expresses the same theme, but through Gittel s remembrance of what happened to her during
the Holocaust. In the present, Gittel says that she has, five adopted children, all orphans of other
wars. (Mapping the Bones 411). Because she refuses to forget what happened in her past she
applied what she learned into her present day life. By remembering, she helped five other children
involved in wars to raise them better than how she had been raised. This illustrates the theme that
remembrance is important to the

American Education System Faulty
It is a well known fact that Americans, in comparison to other developed nations worldwide, lags
in academic achievement as evidenced by various international assessments. The results of such
assessments have led many to question the reasons behind it is the American education system
faulty, is the population simply too large to fully educate, or is it the lack of motivation in all
parties involved? Though these aspects are all likely to have played a role in the educational lag,
the underlying reason for America s lagging academic achievement may well lie in its highly
diverse population and social culture within the schools, which may not particularly foster the kind
of social support necessary for success in an academic setting. While this... Show more content on

To get a sense for how low America ranks, it was found in a 2009 PISA study that the United States
ranks 25th out of 33 countries on the exam, where countries such as Japan, South Korea, and
Finland score consistently near the top (Sparapani et al, 2014). Such results make it clear that there
is a significant difference between these nations and the US. Namely, one of the largest differences
between America and other nations participating in the PISA exam is cultural diversity. In fact,
nations that rank higher on the PISA exam tend to have smaller, more culturally homogenous
populations with the majority of citizens holding similar views and cultural expectations of their
educational system. By contrast, America celebrates its high cultural diversity, which places unique
burdens on schools when considered in an educational context. Significant inequities within the
American culture stem from its cultural diversity, and inspire implicit disagreements as to how
education should be handled in America. For example, Laura Gonzalez (2013), an assistant
professor with the department of Counseling and Educational development at the University of
North Carolina, notes that the idea of respeto in Latino communities, which refers to the high
esteem and respect for elders and professionals within the community, is highly valued. As a result
of these values, Latino families are less likely than other ethnicities to report potential problems to
the school (Bower Griffin, 2011). In this context, the family, who may be recent immigrants without
the greatest grasp of the American educational system, tends view their role as being in the home.
Instead, they trust the teacher to do their job while their children are at school, and choose not to
interfere as a way of respecting the teacher s

In-Depth Analysis Of The Great Gatsby
F. Scott Fitzgerald s The Great Gatsby has been viewed as a standout masterpiece of American
writing since it was published in the 1920s. The novel has been distinctly consecrated in American
culture where it remains applicable and regularly read over ninety years after publication. Why it
is still relevant turns out to be clear when reading the novel. Fitzgerald tells a moderately contained
and straightforward story by using an elaborate style and concerning different distinctive topics. In
addition, it lets plenty of space for alternative views and speculations about some elements of the
novel. This essay will focus on a in depth analysis of Nick Carraway, with the intention of

Nick travels to New York from West Egg with Tom Buchanan, stopping on the way to pick up
Myrtle, Tom s secret affair. They then head to an apartment where they, together with Myrtles
sister and the married couple, the McKees, have a party. Nick comments that at this afternoon it
was the second time in his life that he had been drunk and that everything therefore had a dim,
hazy cast over it (27 32). At this party Nick meets the photographer Mr. McKee, which is a
important scene for characterizing Nick s sexuality. Nick describes McKee as a pale, feminine
man (32) and it can be assumed that there is some sort of attraction between the two men, because
of events that will follow. Nick and McKee end up leaving the party together, something Maggie
Gordon Froehlich says clearly (if subtly) suggests a pickup (215). The pair drunkenly stumble into
the elevator where they start making vague plans about going to lunch (39). At first sight, the
confused vagueness could be seen as a representation of their intoxication, but it could also be
argued that when looking closely, their talk about their plans to get lunch (when asked where,
McKee answers anywhere [39]) is subliminal homoerotic intended (because they are not planning
lunch at all, but rather planning to do something else). Whether or not the offer is salacious, the non

a high risk investment that is worth it is because the stock recently started rebounding from a
long downtrend. The latest reports have also shown improvements. I will invest another
$16,500 into Genesco which will give me 625 shares with no dividend. Another high risk stock I
would get into is GW Pharmaceuticals. This stock appears to jump up and down a lot which
means if I could figure out when it is at its lowest, I could buy a lot of shares and turn it back
around once the stock peaks again. By purchasing this stock, it gives me a stock that is related to
medicine which allows my money not only to be dispersed in different stocks, but different
markets. GW Pharmaceuticals is currently selling at $103.73 so with $16,500 I would buy 160
shares. The last stock that I would like to invest in is Callaway Golf. By having this stock in my
portfolio, it gives me a stock in the sporting market. I picked this stock because it has been on a
steady rise and the golf business is doing better and better. I have an interest in this company and
I own their product so I know I am investing in a good product. The dividend is very low for

like spilled drinks and snacks. I find the concert when it plays the intro very nostalgic as if I was
able to afford the seat in the 1800s. The musical instruments in the concert, of course, were more
realistic than the speakers because I can hear the true work. If I can, I should go to the concert

This piece was made in 1912 during the modern era of music by VasilijAgapkin and this was
dedicated to the Slavic women who accompany their husbands in the First Balkan War.The march
was written and premiered inTambov in the end of 1912. The expression layer with the
instrumental has so much Russian pride behind this piece like their anthem. I can imagine the
Russian army women march in this piece during a parade. If women were listening to this in
sensual layer, they would feel strong and determined during exercise. Might be a good motivation
and would make women proud to be women.
In the music layer, many experts will say its genre is march. I have detected one little disjunct out
of the entire piece in the beginning then after, the music one on with conjunct with almost the
same melody. The dynamics from the beginning was forte, then comes mezzo piano, back to

The A Snake Enters The Story
Genesis could be broken down into two sections: Chapters 1 11 (God the World) and 12 50 (God
Abraham s Family). What hinges the two parts together is contained in chapter 12, assisting us in
understanding the message as a whole and introducing to the rest of the bible.
Genesis 1 4:16: Here we begin where everything is darkness and disordered, however; God puts
everything into order, creating a world where life can thrive. He finally creates Adam and Eve
(A E) in His image, which He meant them to be reflections of His character. He appoints them as
representative to rule earth on His behalf. A E are given a choice with how they may proceed
with running the world, which are represented via the Tree of Life and of the Tree of Good and Evil.
Shall they trust God s definition of good and evil or shall they take autonomy and define good
an evil for themselves? In chapter three a snake enters the story, who represents rebellion
against God. He convinces A E to rebel by eating of the tree of good and evil, for they shall be
like God. This tragic because God had already created A E in His image. A E choose to increase
the stakes by turning away from God (Life Giver) and embracing death by eating of the forbidden
fruit. Suddenly, things rapidly change and A E realize they are naked, vulnerable and distrusting.
So, they quickly fashion clothing to hide their bodies; also, they hide themselves from God

The Impact Of Handedness On Health Related Outcomes For...
What genes (or classes of genes) and what environmental factors have been implicated and how
might they mediate this biological effect? Discuss how handedness may be related to health related
outcomes for individuals and discuss how genetic and environmental influences might mediate
these effects.
Introduction
Handedness is a complex phenotype of humans in which individuals have a preference or
advantage for use of a hand. Handedness is a not a discrete trait, but continuous. Right handedness
is accepted as normal over left handedness. There are four types of handedness (left handedness,
right handedness, mixed handedness, where one hand is favoured for some tasks and the other
hand for different tasks, and, ambidexterity where each hand is equally strong) however,
handedness is a continuum so individuals can fall within a range of different degrees of
handedness. Left handedness is less common than right handedness, with only approximately 10%
of people being left handed (Hardyck Petrinovich 1977). Left handedness can be further divided in
to natural left handedness, where a person whose handedness is a result of genetic and cultural
factors, and pathological left handedness caused by early damage to the left hemisphere of the brain.
Handedness is first demonstrated between 9 10 weeks gestation, where the developing embryo
begins to exhibit single arm movements (Hepper, McCartney, Shannon 1998). Although some
elements of handedness develop in the embryo, there are both

Type I Taste Biochemistry
Abstract
There are complex molecular mechanisms involved in the sensation of taste, also known as
gustation. They are specific to the five differing taste qualities. Taste transduction involves taste
cells of varying structure and function. These taste cells comprise of type I glial like cells, type II
receptor cells, and type III pre synaptic cells. Through different mechanisms, the taste receptor cells
detect a respective ligand of sweet, bitter, umami, sour, and salty tastes. It has been suggested that
type I cells are involved in detection and transduction of salt through an ion channel. Type II cells
operate through G protein coupled receptors that belong to the T1R and T2R families. Neuron
synapses and ion channels aide in the performance of type III cells. Gustatory receptors play an
essential role in the detection and perception of tastes within the oral ... Show more content on

However, recent evidence suggests an additional ability of detecting salts through ion channels.
Receptor type II cells detect bitter, sweet and umami tastes. They express G protein coupled
receptors (GPCRs) that are associated with gustducin, the G protein (4). GPCRs are capable of
acting through varying second messenger systems to relay a signal to the interior of the cell. This
signaling produces increased intracellular calcium concentrations. Increases in calcium initiate ATP
release, thus triggering primary gustatory neurons in close proximity to type II cells. Type III taste
cells transduce sour and salty tastes through ion channels (5). Increases in Na+ concentrations for
salt tastes and increases in H+ concentration for sour tastes depolarize taste cells, releasing a
neurotransmitter, for instance serotonin (5). The neurotransmitters released from the cells, such as
ATP or serotonin, activate primary gustatory neurons. Signals are then carried by the axons of
primary gustatory neurons for processing to the gustatory

Sleep Dealer The Father Thing Analysis
Science fiction has contributed to shaping us as a society in lots of different ways. I believe that
it has supplied ideas of technology such as: iPhones, laptops, tablets, etc. Somewhere an author
is writing about something that we think would be impossible to create, but will most likely

aspects of these ideas are much easier than carrying around your books, however, what does this
mean for paper books, and book stores? The ideaof an object doing something to make life easier
for us, is more than appealing to people. It is our instinct to want to get things done and get them

it s rare for you to find someone who completely lives by this. It is easy for people to make
distinctions between robots and humans when they re asked, but when the actual thingis standing in

One creative way to get started investing in real estate is to use a lease option. The biggest
advantage of using lease options to invest in real estate is control. This method of investing,
basically gives the investor the right to possess be in control of and profit from a property without
owning it.
A real estate lease option contract is a combination of two documents.
The lease part of the contract is where the owner agrees to let you lease their property, while you
pay them rent for a stated period of time. During the lease period, the owner can not raise the rent,
rent it to anyone else, or sell the property to anyone else.
The option part of the contract represents the right you purchased to buy the property in the
future, for a specific price. If you decide to exercise your option to buy, the owner has to sell it to
you at the negotiated price. The option part of the contract obligates the seller to sell to you during
the option period but it does not obligate you to buy. You are only obligated to make rental

How Do Chick Breathes In Its Shell
I Am conducting this experiment to understand how a chick breathes in its shell. The problem
That is are trying to be solved is if the pores of the chicken egg shell allow water to enter by
soaking raw eggs in dye. The hypothesis is that the will change to the color of what every dye it is
placed in.
I know that every animal requires oxygen to live. also that Birds and reptiles have hard shells. The
science that goes into my project is figuring out how chicks get air in their shell. The Scientific
principles/concepts that make the experiment work are soaking the egg in food coloring, detergent
and watering it s will show the experiment conducti if or if not the chick can breathe inside its shell.

The of the inside of the shell had become mostly blue , showing where the most pores on a
average shell are. There was mostly blue on the bottom of the inside of the shell than the top, the
bottom is where the air sack and where the head of the chick would be. Also another result of the
experiment was the coloring entered through the shell with the help of just the dish detergent, I
tried it without dish detergent and it only colored the outside shell. The result of my experiment
matched my hypothesis. The only thing that would ve changed my results from not matching my
hypothesis is if the procedure said not to use dish detergent. The on variables that changed was
the color of the outside shell and albumin changed to blue. To to make the experiment better.
They could see what happens when you boil the egg without the dish detergent, but with just
water and soap, and see if the same result will occur. The hypothesis seems like the only logical
way a chick can breath in a shell. The hypothesis chosen was correct because when the shell was

The Theory Of Human Motivation Essay
Pensions Transfers Summative Coursework Session B60854 Course Start Date: 22 august 16
Submission Deadline: Midday 1 November 16 Candidate C53500. Introduction The theory of
human motivation was introduced in 1943 by psychologist Abraham Maslow as the Hierarchy
of needs. Basic needs like food and shelter once met give rise to psychological needs, which
motivate behaviour. To feel good people, have a bias for instant gratification. The FCA are
taking a keen interest in behavioural economics: as professionals we need to be aware of these
issues and not frame our conversations in such a way that takes advantage of a client s biases.
In April 2015 the 2014 taxation of pensions act came into law labelled pension freedom
legislation and allowed pension holders access to monies held in a pension fund, the fear was
people cashing in their pension savings for instant gratification. This paper will look at a typical
male client at retirement aged 65 who has benefits in both a defined benefit (DB) and an
occupational money purchase scheme and critically evaluate why he may consider pension
transfer. Let s assume our client is married and has health issues at retirement, he is married to
his second wife 48 years of age they own their own home with an interest only mortgage. They have
a young child aged 12 and a 25 year old from his first marriage who is married and has her own
family. In considering a transfer from a DB to DC scheme the following factors should be

Queen Vera s Bedroom
Agatha was sitting in Queen Vera s parlor trying not to appear apprehensive. She noticed the
wonderfully, exquisite, porcelain china that was strategically placed on the table, and Agatha felt
as if the single movement of an elbow or a foot might knock something out of place. While
awaiting her interview with the queen for the position of princess, Agatha studied the many
fantastic embellishments of the room. She had decided, having sat in the parlor for quite some
time, that she fancied the d?cor, which was obviously arranged to bear a distinct and direct
representation of Franz Josef?or was it perhaps Wilhelm II? She?d read extensively on the topic of

My Most Favorite Time Of The Year At The Best Place
As August approaches, excitement runs through my veins. It s that time of year... I think to
myself, My most favorite time of the year at the best place. Mac s Landing Resort in Michigan is
the hot spot for my family and friends to have a great week of fun. The whole week is consumed
with tubing, riding the jetski, swimming, and relaxing on the beach at Arbutus Lake. This resort
was my very first vacation ever. I was only two weeks old the first time I went, and I don t
remember a smidge of it. Although I don t remember anything from when I was two weeks old,
I remember and cherish the memories I ve made since I was the age of seven. Ever since I had
started school, this week of vacation meant that I would miss the first week of school. I was
always so excited to miss some of the beginning of school. This time of the year excited me since
it was vacation and I got to miss school. My mom had always said, Missing a little school isn t
going to hurt. It s a family vacation and they will get over it. I always thought it was funny how
she said would say this about me missing school. Being on vacation is a lot more fun than being
at school the first week. From days on the beach to campfires, my cousins, my friends, and I enjoy
many activities. My cousins, Allison, Jada, and Lauren, helped to make this vacation mean
something to me. We would play multiple games on the beach. Some of them were King of the

A Song For Lya Analysis
George R.R. Martin s A Song for Lya follows two telepathic lovers, Robb and Lyanna, who are
pulled apart by their want and yet inability to understand each other. Published in 1974, it and won
the Hugo Award for Best Novella in the following year. The story explores the connectivity
between individuals and society. The origins of literature are people telling their own stories in
order to create a sense of community. George R.R. Martin highlights the genesis of literature by
telling a story of human nature that is set within a much larger story.
Set on a planet, the novella depicts the Shkeen, an alien race that practices a cult like religion. They
live their lives in service to the Ghreeshka, a parasite that consumes their bodies. When a ... Show

Before the genesis of writing, people s stories were often personal stories and with that, the culture
of a society was shown through the characters and setting. For example, Of Mice and Men tells
the story of George s and Lenny s friendship; however, it is only a meter within the song of the
American Depression. Many fantasy stories, such as Lord of the Rings, work well because the
characters and the setting have culture as characters and stories that do not have the same depth
often fall flat. The same is true for A Song for Lya. Many science fictionand fantasy stories
universes only extend as far as the story will take them, making them appear superficial. The
novella, on the other hand, is part of George R.R. Martin s Thousand Worlds universe, in which
humans have battled an alien race called the Hrangan Minds and have colonized to different planets.
Despite there being no war in the story, there is culture to the story. The telepathic culture that Robb
and Lyanna are both part of is vain and when the protagonists visit the culture of the Shkeen, they
are humbled not only by the different language, food, and religion, but also by their superiority in
telepathy and

Managerial Styles and Culture Shock: Difference between Japan and United States
The Japanese managerial styles go as far back as Empiricism. Japanese live to work for their
company. Japanese are loyal to the company first whereas the Americans are loyal to self. Japanese
management sees employees as their most important resources and are required to contribute ideas
to improve the corporation; whereas Americans see employees as expendable. Japanese
management sees the company as one group and the whole group must succeed. Decision making
in Japan is a long process, in many stages to minimize errors and bring consistency but once a
decision is made, everybody is on the same page. In the United States management makes quicker
decisions that sometimes can lead to short sightedness. It is probably because the Japanese are all
one culture and Americans come from a variety of backgrounds. The Japanese management believe

those changes? What leads us from one focalizer to another? Find three examples. Woolf uses
multiple focalizers in Mrs. Dalloway to create a new point of view in the story. Woolf indicates
these changes through subtle transitions that are hardly noticed at, as the story shifts to another

One issues that was mentioned in the historical material was the idea of sexuality, as it stated
Sexuality of all stripes was on trial (1936). Homosexuality was something not yet discussed
openly at this time, so it was a new concept for sexuality to be talked about in literature. Woolf
was more open about sexuality in Mrs. Dalloway and it was mentioned about Clarissa Dalloway
s daughter, Elizabeth. Mrs. Dalloway comments that her daughter is fond of two things, her dog
and Miss Kilman. Mrs. Dalloway suspects that Elizabeth has feelings for Miss Kilman, though
Mr. Dalloway thinks it to be only a phase (2343). Mrs. Dalloway feels that it is more than a phase
and says It might be falling in love (2343). In the end of this discussion, Mrs. Dalloway
concludes she would have loved Miss Kilman! But not in this world. No. (2343). This line
signifies a lot about the issue and thoughts about homosexuality and sexuality in general.
Homosexuality was not an accepted idea in society during this time, though it was becoming
talked about more. As in Mrs. Dalloway, sexuality is a taboo subject and is being put on trial by

Gender In Religion In Islam, Islam And Religion
Gender in Religion
Religion is a major cornerstone of human identity and culture. Anywhere you look on earth
where there are people, there is a religion or set of beliefs that those people follow. Many times,
the teaching of these Religions can be twisted and manipulated to justify gender bias. The Simple
truth is people are treated very differently based on their Gender by followers of two of the most
popular religions in the world: Islam and Judaism. I am going to examine some ways the teaching
of these two major religions are used to oppress, abuse, and differentiate women.
The first major religion I am going to examine is Islam. Religious roles are mainly imposed on
women in Islam through the clothing they are required to wear. Clothing is tied very close to
ones self identity, as Waseem Fayyaz and Anila Kamal tell us in Practicing Hijab (veil): A
Source of Autonomy and Self esteem for Modern Muslim Women. They write, The attire we
wear is also strongly connected with identity. It is related with the sense of one s self Different
classes of society wear different dress to mark their status and position in society. Kings and
ruling elite have worn heavy and elaborate robes while public clothing has been simple. We use
different uniforms to mention our jobs or institutions. People of different cultures wear different
dresses. Besides culture and region where we live, dress code is also determined by the faith we
espouse. This way dress becomes a symbol of one s

First Person Narrative Research
First person narrative research is a term that uses a group of approaches that in turn depend on
spoken words, written works or pictures/drawings of people. These approaches tend to focus on the
lives of individuals as told through their own stories. The importance and focus within such
approaches is in the narrative, usually based on both what and how it is narrated. The audience
validates narrative research. Being a very useful tool and all, narrative method may not always
be strong enough to stand alone as a central piece of evidence in concluding a point. Regardless if
it is part of a presentation or whether it is a stand alone piece of information, it must be accepted,
based on its own merits as an individual experienceand... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The narrative method allows for an intimate look into the emotions, thoughts and experiences
within a story based on the fact that another has witnessed such or intern through another s work
along for a great picture to be established. Being easily able to validate a claim or narrative account
through another is also a huge benefit of the method making it easier for the truth to come out and
harder for lies to see the light. Personal narratives and information gained from narrative methods
tend to come from truthful sources based on not wanting to tarnish individual s credibility, and not
seeing a reason in creating lies and misleading information. Nevertheless, many problems can also
be seen within the method harder and less likely to prevent. The limited perspective is detrimental
in the sense that only that one perspective s views through emotion and feeling are used to describe
the situation if there had only been one account. Unless there are multiple viewpoints from different
individuals who think and act differently put together to create one image from all different sides,
which isn t very practical to do. The narrative method also creates a restricted view in the sense that
anything the reader does not know, you don t know. Such as taking into consideration different
socio contexts and the individuals thinking spectrums. The narrative account may also be biased,
understanding the story through ones eyes, leaves room for events and facts to change based on
what the individual thinks, wants, and knows at the

What Is The Implementation Of PPP In The Compensation System
3.1.1 Implementation Mechanisms
Implementation of PPP in the liability and compensation regime is seen through adequate reference
to mechanisms such as compulsory insurance and compensation funds whereby a ship owner is
required to constitute a fund with the Court for the total limit of his liability to avail the benefit of
limitation , and maintain compulsory insurance certified by the appropriate State authority for any
ship carrying more than 2,000 tons of oil .
3.1.2 Loss of Right to Limit Liability
There is very narrow scope for a ship owner to be exonerated from strict liability. It requires proof
that damage resulted from war or was wholly caused by an intentional act or omission of a third
party or by negligence of an authority ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Small Tanker Oil Pollution Indemnification Fund (STOPIA) was established to raise maximum
amount of compensation payable for small ships and the Tanker Oil Pollution Indemnification
Agreement (TOPIA) was established to indemnify the supplementary fund 50% of the
compensation amount it pays in event of an oil pollution accident.
Considering the costs of some of the biggest oil spills in history, the SF holds adequate funds to
deal with oil spills of high magnitudes; till date no incident has required compensation from the SF
. The liability and compensation provisions of the CLC and FC satisfy the main components the
PPP by allowing the victims impartial access to remedies and allocating costs of pollution damage,
emergency response and clean up to the polluters .
The abovementioned factors show that the Conventions have come a far way in achieving a
perfect balance in burden sharing among the shipping and oil industries, adapting the polluter pays
theory to the extent feasible. Disturbing this balance for the few incidents where admissible claims
exceeded the limits under the 1992 CLC and FC would mean disturbing a widely accepted, well
tested and successful system operating on an international level .

System; he questions the fairness in expecting the transporter and cargo owners to bear all the costs

Abstract A numerical investigation has been carried out for incompressible turbulent flow through
900bend pipes. The model is based on the numerical solution of conservation equations of mass
and momentum. The results of the simulations of the flow in the form of contour and vector plots
for two types of pipe bend both mitre and smooth bend with seven different Reynolds numbers
(2.0+E04, 2.5+E04, 3.0+E04, 3.5+E04, 4.0+E04, 4.5+E04 and 5.0+ E04) are presented in this
paper. From the obtained results, it is seen that the mitre bend produces more turbulent kinetic
energy, eddy viscosity, skin friction factor compared to the smooth bend. To put an emphasis on
the smooth bend for different R/D ratios, the static pressure distribution along the inner, outer
wall and the pressure loss factor with different Re numbers are analyzed. However, it is noticed
that as Re increases the pressure gradient changes rapidly at the inner and the outer wall of the
bend. Again, the total pressure loss factor k increases as the R/D ratio decreases and due to higher
velocity heads factor k decreases as Re increases. The numerical results are found to be in a good
agreement with experimental

What I mean is this: all of us are consumers and those who consume less, are not rewarded more
than those who consume more. In fact, those who do not consume contribute to economic
recessions and those who consume more are rewarded with social and material gains. So in order
to keep society and business moving, people need a constant ability to participate in consumption. I
want to give the system my money because I want to continue to exist in it. However, I feel that
there is an inherent logic fail that in order to be employed, the working class must give back
(through consumption) essentially everything they have been compensated (after producing
profits for someone else) in order to have a future place in that system. So how do break this
vicious cycle? How do create mechanisms that allow working class consumers to keep more of
their hard earned money? How does this mechanism compliment or refine our current system? My
answer to these questions is this, thus far: give equity to the consumers of the businesses they
participate in. Or in other words, reward people for participating in society (which means society

A Critique of the Real Lincoln
The Real Lincoln: A New Look at Abraham Lincoln, His Agenda, and an Unnecessary War, by
Thomas J. DiLorenzo completely shatters the illusion of the 16th President as the liberator of the
slaves. DiLorenzo provides convincing evidence for Lincoln s overt racism as expressed in his
documented views on racial supremacy as stated in his desire to colonize all American blacks
outside the United States (p. 4); Lincoln s views were matched by the majority in the North who
used such tools as state constitutional amendments to prohibit the emigration of black people into
Northern states like Lincoln s home of Illinois (p. 4); and that the Presidents war which killed 620,

DiLorenzo shows that Lincoln s entire agenda was focused on advancing these three goals. Many
southern states believed with the coming of Lincoln into the White House he would push for his
agenda of increased federal government spending and control.
So when Lincoln suspended the writ of Habeas corpus in order to arrest those accused of treason,
the Peace Democrats had more ammunition against the president. There was much controversy
as to whether the president had the power to suspend habaes corpus, and it was argued that only
Congress had that right. The writ of habeas corpus protects people from arbitrary arrest and
detainment. The power to do so was both that of the legislative branch as well as the judicial
branch. It was unclear whether the Philadelphia convention placed it in Article I, just to identify it
or define it as a legislative function. Either way, Lincoln did so, and the suspension of the writ of
Habeas corpus brought on thousands of arbitrary arrests. Many of those who were arrested were
spies, foreigners and smugglers. The question is: Did Lincoln go too far and unlawfully exercise his
executive powers to manipulate constitutional limits?

powers, his resort to total warfare, the story of Reconstruction, the cruel Indian

Dividend Announcements and Share Prices
Dividend announcements and their impact on share prices can be explained by the semi strong
form of the efficient market hypothesis (EMH). Efficient market hypothesis implies that the only
thing that may impact the stock prices is new information, since all other possibly influencing
parameters are already included in the firm s stock price (Palan, 2004).The efficient market
hypothesis may be divided into three forms: the weak form, the semi strong form, and the strong
form. The weak form implies that share prices bear or reflect the past prices and trade volume
information, the semi strong form adds publicly available information to the weak form, and the
strong form adds even insider information to the efficiency approach (Harder, 2008).
Empirical evidences show that successive changes in stock prices are independent and this
independence is in line with the efficient market hypothesis, as markets promptly react to the new
information (Fama et al., 1969). In this context it may be assumed that dividend announcements
convey particular positive information about the company and provide signals about future
performance of the firm. The decision about paying dividends is made by the firm s managers and
often supported by shareholders voting. Since dividend announcements bear useful information,
from the efficient market hypothesis view point this

Persuasion As An Essential Part Of Survival
There are many different techniques to persuasion. Some of the techniques include foot in the
door, scarcity, pique, and many others. All of these techniques are designed to influence the
opinion and actions of others. Persuasion is used in our everyday life and is an essential part of
survival. As we are approached by different persuaders through out our life, it s important to know
that people are constantly trying to shape our opinions and react accordingly. Social scientists
suggest that when people are presented with any idea or persuasive proposal, their natural reaction
is to immediately find a way to sort the information subconsciously and react to it. Most people will
evaluate the information and compare it to the attitude we have already. This is called the intitial
attitude or anchor point. Persuasioncan be defined as using one s personal resources to change
people s attitudes or behaviors. Persuasion is often used to make a personal gain, such as in an
election or when trying to sale a product. The history of persuasion began long ago with the Greeks,
who used persuasion in trails. Greeks emphasized elocution and rhetoricas the highest standard for

Analysis Of Sonnet 130
Poetry is a form of writing in where the author expresses his or her emotions through style and
rhythm. There is no one specific reason why people like poetry. Not only is poetry personal, it can
also be deeply emotional to people, as poems can bring back memories and experiences that have
resonated throughout the reader s life. Love poetryis not only deeply emotional for people, but it s
something most people can relate to as most people will experience some form of love throughout
their life. Easily the most famous poet in history, Shakespeare, had many thoughts on love, and
many of his poems invoke this emotion. Sonnet130 specifically is thought provoking and much
more relatable than other poems of the 1600 s, and like most of Shakespeare s sonnets, this
poem is an expression of love. This is due to the fact that Shakespeare does not make the woman
in the poem out to be some sort of goddess. In telling his mistress that he loves her, our speaker
also has to give us an idea about what his love is like. He is stating who and what she is, and that
at the end of the day, his love is not only beautiful, but unique, exclusive and rare.
Sonnet 130 was written during the 1600 s. Many poets during this time stylised their lover or
whomst ever they were writing about as divine and perfect in everyway. Sonnet 130 is considered
by many to make a mockery of this. This sonnet compares the speaker s lover to a number of other
beauties, and never in the lover s favor. In the first

Essay on Benjamin Franklin Gender Roles
Gender and the Age of Reason
In these two books, we have the story of a young man coming of age and finding success in the
world and the story of a young woman coming of age and failing to do so. In either book, what
gender roles prevailed?
In The Autobiography of Benjamin Franklin, we are reading the path that one man took to go from
a middle class child to a well respected adult. Benjamin Franklin created what we know today as
the American dream. Today we understand the American dream to be that one can go from rags to
riches with a little hard work. The autobiography is based around the age of reason and a time man
was thought to be able to be perfected by means of science and invention. The Autobiography of

Benjamin Franklin is known as a political figure and scientist/inventor. Learning the importance of
debate at such a young age clearly served him in great and many ways. Benjamin Franklin spent
his teen years practicing his writing. In 1720, James started a newspaper known as the New
England Courant. According to Franklin, this was the second newspaper in America. Franklin
worked as a delivery boy and would publish his own writings anonymously. Franklin often disputed
politics and books with another bookish lad by the name of John Collins. One of their arguments
speaks directly about the female gender during the 1700 s. A question was once, somehow or
other, started between Collins and me, of the propriety of educating the female sex in learning,
and their abilities for study. He was of opinion that it was improper... (Franklin, Benjamin. The
Autobiography of Benjamin Franklin. New York: Bantam Books, 1982, pg 14.) Collins shares the
same views and mentalities that many men of the 1700 s shared. At the time, it was understood
that education and teaching was not to be wasted on women. Not only was it a waste but Collins
specifically states that it is improper. I took to the contrary side, perhaps a little for disputes sake.
(Franklin. The Autobiography of Benjamin Franklin, 14.) This statement, made by Benjamin
Franklin, is of great importance. He goes against the general population, whether by choice or

Insecticides In Crickets
Figure 1 illustrates the effects of four insecticides on adult crickets at four different
concentrations over the span of 24 hours. Taking the average of all the dead crickets at each
concentration, dividing by five, and multiplying by 100 found the % response. The probit
number was found from the % response number. Taking the probit number, diving by 10, and
multiplying by 100 found the % probit response, which is shown on the y axis. The log of the
four concentrations used represents the log dose on the x axis. Series 1 represents paraoxon.

Was Lizzie Borden A Serial Killer
Lizzie Borden is a very known serial killer but not by killing plenty of people, but only killing her
father and stepВmother. Along with her time period, the late 1800 s, it was very unknown for
women to be killers and were seen as the weaker sex , which is also one of the reasons why Mrs.
Borden was so popular for this case. But how do you get away with a murder of your parents?
Lizzie Borden was born on July 19th, 1860 in Fall River, Massachusetts. First born,
Emma Borden, was very prepared at age of 6 to have a baby sister (Alice) and teach her how to
love and would protect her from anything. Unfortunately, Alice died at the age of 2 from
hydrocephalus, which is water in the brain. On Emma s 9th birthday, she was even more prepared

Lizzie did not make friends easily but to her, she didn t really need manyНѕ all she needed was her
sister who promised her birthВmother she would watch after her and she has. Many witnesses and
others have thought that Sarah had a bipolar disorder which is very generic and can be passed

Emma , for a year and a half, left to go to Wheaton Female Seminary and was very nervous that
this absence was going to cause Abby to take over poor little Lizzie.
August 3, a day before the murder of Abby and Andrew, Lizzie was found at a drugstore and
unsuccessfully tried buying a poison. During this, Emma was out of town and Abby was in a
finished argument with Andrew.

Public Key Infrastructures
Businesses are becoming ever more dependent on digital information and electronic transactions,
and as a result face stringent data privacy compliance challenges and data security regulations.
With the enterprise increasingly under threat of cyber attacks and malicious insiders, business
applications and networks are now dependent on the use of digital credentials to control how
users and entities access sensitive data and critical system resources. Public key infrastructures
(PKIs) are necessary to help ascertain the identity of different people, devices, and services. In a
nutshell, PKIs go way beyond the use of user IDs and passwords, employing cryptographic
technologies such as digital signatures and digital certificates to create unique credentials that can
be validated beyond reasonable doubt and on a mass scale ( What is pki? n.d., p. 1).... Show more

Third parties normally trust digital certificates signed by public CAs like VeriSign, and
SecureNet. Additionally, the overhead of managing a public CA is significantly lower than that
of in house administration. Another advantage of using a public CA is convenience; it solves
the problem of distributing the key for certificates. Using Public CA can be cost effective
particularly if company has a large number of private users that need public certificates for client
authentication. Like with in house CA, there are several disadvantages to public CA. The
integration between your organization and the public CA is limited. While the overhead is lower
than in house CA, there is still a cost associated with using one and you will usually pay per
certificate. There is also less flexibility in managing those certificates as it is being handled by an
outside entity. Which one is better suited for the company could depend on the size of the company,
it funding and staffing ( Comparisons, n.d., p.

Theme Of Foreshadowing In A Doll House
A Doll House by Henrik Ibsen, is a play that follows Nora Helmer and her husband Torvald
Helmer through the holiday season and the fall of their marriage. Within the two acts there are
many figurative language devices used to help further the story along, however, there are a few
in specific that stand out. The play s foreshadowing, symbolism, and irony all contribute the
most to the play s overall development of Nora s self affirmation. Foreshadowing in A Doll
House is present from the beginning of the story. Much of which is not noticeable until later
events. In the beginning of Act 1 Nora hides her macaroons from Torvald, HELMER: Hasn t
Miss Sweet Tooth been breaking rules in town today? ... taken a bite at a macaroon or two?
NORA: No, Torvald. (Ibsen, 1657). Although it is minor in nature, it reveals Nora s character of
being rebellious despite Torvald s wishes. The effect this characterization has on the story is that
she is not the obeying wife that many were in the Victorian Era. Through this foreshadowing the
reader can begin to identify the conflicts of Nora and Torvald s relationship that get developed on
as the play progresses. Another example of foreshadowing is in Act 2 when Nora is getting
ready to leave out to town, when she engages in a conversation with Anne Marie about the
children asking, Do they ask for me much? . To which Anne Marie responds, They re so used to
having Mama around, you know. . This is important because Nora replies with, Yes, but Anne
Marie, I can t be together with them as much as I was. (Ibsen, 1675). This hints towards Nora
abandoning her role as a mother, which in the end occurs when she leaves Torvald to find herself
and become independent. The foreshadowing throughout the play contributed to the dramatic
ending. Symbolism in A Doll House is another key element in the development of the play. The
setting of the play was during Christmas Eve throughout December 26th. Typically, this is the
ending of the year and represents family being together. However, as the play progresses, the
optimistic outlook on Christmas that is expected changes. In the opening description of the setting
in Act 1 Nora tells Helene, Hide the tree well... The children mustn t get a

Biology Reflection
As the bell rung for the end of first period, I gathered my things and began to walk to my second
period class, Biology. Biology was always to me the hardest subject I had ever dealt with
because there was so much to learn, study, and truly understand. I walked through the door into
the classroom and I ll never forget the words I heard my teacher say that caught me so off guard.
Get out your notes and study because you have a test today , he said. As I heard him finish his
sentence, my eyes widen and I quickly moved towards my seat and began to skim over my notes
as fast as I could. I had completely forgot that I had a test in biology.
While reading over my notes, I kept thinking to myself that I just knew I was going to fail this
test. After a couple of minutes of studying, I heard the teach yell 5 more minutes . I began to
skim even faster over my notes. It felt like time was moving so fast because when I heard my teach
yell times up , it seemed as if only 2 minutes had passed by. He passed out the answer sheet around
the classroom and instructed us to fill out our student ID numbers. I looked over the unfilled
answer sheet and counted the amount of questions. There were 30 questions in total which
frightened me even more because I had to answer 30 questions on information that I barely studied.
Then he handed out the test and I became extremely nervous because not only did I barely study
and there were 30 multiple choice questions, but the classroom was so cold that

Essay about Tim O Brien s the Things They Carried
Tim O Brien s The Things They Carried is not a novel about the Vietnam War.
It is a story about the soldiers and their experiences and emotions that are brought
about from the war. O Brien makes several statements about war through these dynamic
characters. He shows the violent nature of soldiers under the pressures of war, he
makes an effective antiwar statement, and he comments on the reversal of a social deviation
into the norm. By skillfully employing the stylistic technique of specific, conscious
detail selection and utilizing connotative diction, O Brien thoroughly and convincingly makes
each point.
The violent nature that the soldiers acquired during their tour in Vietnam is
one of O Brien s predominant themes ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The whole concept is metaphoric, based on the connotations of key words; nevertheless, it is
extremely
effective in conveying O Brien s theme.
O Brien makes a valid, effective antiwar statement in The Things They Carried.
The details he includes give the reader insight into his opinions concerning the
Vietnam War and the draft that was used to accumulate soldiers for the war. While thinking of
escaping to Canada, he says: I was drafted to fight a war I hated. . .The American
war seemed to me wrong (44). O Brien feels that U.S. involvement in Vietnamese affairs
was unnecessary and wasteful. He includes an account of his plan to leave the country
because he did not want to risk losing his life for a cause he did not believe in. Here
O Brien shows the level of contempt felt towards the war; draft dodging is dangerous. He was
not a radical antiwar enthusiast, however, for he takes only a modest stand against the
war (44). While not condoning the fighting, he does not protest the war except for
minimally, peacefully, and privately doing so. His dissatisfaction with the drafting
process is included in his statement, I was a liberal, for Christ s sake: if they needed
fresh bodies, why not draft some back to the stone age hawk? (44). O Brien s point of drafting only
those who approve involvement in the war is clearly made while his political
standpoint is simultaneously revealed. The

  • 2. Visual Management, Single Minute Exchange Of Die ( Smed )... Introduction: In today s world, opening or managing a company is very difficult. The Economic crisis, heavy taxation and barriers of entrance in some countries, make it more difficult. But all blame can t be given to external factors. Most of the times the critical factors are inside the company. So what is the right way of managing a company? In this assignment I studied and analyzed three tools that can help me and are fundamental to success in this business world that is ruled by time and efficiency. The tools I selected are: Visual Management, Single Minute Exchange of Die (SMED) and Value Stream Mapping. VISUAL MANAGEMENT: In order to continuously improve and progress as an organization, people need to observe, communicate and sharing information. The visual management is a strategy that make information easier to interpret and immediately available. Is such an intuitive strategy, many people don t even realize that they used it in their daily lives and despites this prevalent outside of work place most of organizations don t know how to take follow advantage of it. The simplicity of visual management causes many people to overlook its usefulness. Image using a water faucet with impropriate mark handles. • 3. Wireless LAN Benefits and Applications INTRODUCTION Wireless networking has numerous benefits. Productivity remarkably enhances due to the higher accessibility to the information resource. Network configuration as well as reconfiguration becomes easier, quicker, and overall less expensive. Nonetheless, this technology also poses new threats as well as brings change in the already existing profile of risk in the information security. Explaining this terminology, as we all know that the communication occurs through the air utilizing the radio frequencies, the inception risk are higher in comparison to the wired networks. In case the messages are not encrypted, or just encrypted having a relatively weak algorithm, then the attacker could very well read it, hence compromising the confidentiality of the data. Though, the wireless networking changes the integrated risks with the various threats towards the security, the objectives of overall security remain all the same as they are with the wired networks: confidentiality preservation, ensuring integrity as well as maintaining the availability of information including information systems. This paper deals in assisting the concerned users of the wireless technology in performing sound decisions by inculcating them along with the basic understanding related to the some associated threats with the wireless networking as well as their countermeasures. The wide popularity of the wireless Networks is quite a testament relating primarily to their conveniences, cost ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Descriptive Essay About Bodybuilding Often times when people think of bodybuilding they get the impression it s all about how much weight you can lift, what s your max bench, or how much can you squat. To tell the truth, that s what I thought it was all about, but sure enough I was wrong. Bodybuilding is all about being concerned on how your body looks. Having symmetry, muscularity and conditioning that is if you plan on competing professionally. It s all about engaging the muscleyour working out, getting a nice squeeze, and having a slow controlled movement. I used to think it was all about working out, but diet plays a huge key. I decided to spend a day with my brother who goes to the gym on a regular basis and has competed several of times, and knows a lot more about bodybuildingthan I do. I am awaken by the sunlight coming from my window as if someone was pointing a flash light on my eyelids. I grab my phone to check what time it is. My phone reads eight o clock. I can t recall the last time I woke up this early, especially on a weekend. I struggle to get out of my nice, cold, and comfortable bed, but I eventually do. • 6. Routine Activities Theory According to the routine activities theory, the cause of crime should not be attributed to social causes, such as poverty, inequality, and unemployment, rather it holds that crime is the result of opportunity. The more opportunity there is for crime, the more likely that crime will occur in that specific area. However, in order for there to be an increased opportunity for crime, the three necessary conditions of this theory must be present: a likely offender, a suitable target, and the absence of capable guardianship. Consequently, the routine activities theory is a strong explanation for crime in Ames, Iowa. According to Area Vibes, Ames has crime rates that are 25% lower than the Iowa mean and 37% lower than the nation s mean. Yet, while Ames has relatively low crime rates, crime is not non existent, and poverty, unemployment, and inequality are unsuccessful attempts to explain it. Home of Iowa State University, Ames ranked third in the nation for Best College Town last year, and the area continues to grow not only in population, but also in diversity and opportunity as over 35,000 students pour in from all over the world every year. Thus, it seems that crime in Ames is best explained by the growing opportunity for crime as the routine activities theory holds, rather than unfavorable social conditions. In a community with relatively low crime rates, it can be difficult to point out areas in Ames that are at the most risk for crime. However, after looking at crime data and ... Microsoft Windows The Original Vision For Windows Microsoft Windows The original vision for windows was formed by Bill Gates and Paul Allen, a computer on every desktop in every home (Microsoft, 2014). This vision started to become a reality in June 1981 when Microsoft ships its first computer containing MS DOS. MS DOS was a command line based operating system where users had to type various commands to complete tasks. However Microsoft came to the conclusion that this was not a very productive way of doing things and there had to be an easier way of doing it. And so in November 1985 they released the first version of Windows, Windows 1.0. With the strain of divorced parents and frequent moves, Dubus vividly describes his experiences of exposure to various environments of drugs, bullies, and sex. Like his father, Dubus embraces a passion for creative writing as a form of therapy. The gravity of Dubus s childhood was vital to his growth because of its often fight afflicted and fatherless times. Bullies and bad boys provoked fear within Dubus, but they also tempted him to watch fights. He dodged the ring when he could, but was defeated when he was powerless. He despised himself in both instances, thus making him feel insecure and irrelevant, There was the non feeling that I had no body, that I had no name, no past and no future, that I simply was not. In The Devil s Arithmetic Hannah is a Jewish girl from New York who does not understand why it is important that she acknowledges her Jewish heritage, that is until she is warped back to World War Two. Now a young girl named Chaya in Poland, Hannah is taken, along with the family she had just been introduced to, to a labor camp. After months at the labor camp, Hannah takes the place of her new friend, Rivka, in her way into the gas chambers; Rivka turns out to be Hannah s aunt in the present. In The Devil s Arithmetic Hannah experiences this first hand, because while at first she can remember where she was really from her memories started to fade. When she at last could not remember anything about her true identity she became very frightened and did not understand what was happening (The Devil s Arithmetic 100). Hannah experiences the same fear her relatives had felt when they went through the Holocaust. It is then she realizes the importance of remembering your past because she had never really realized the suffering they had gone through. This gave her more respect for what her relatives went through than ever before. Through Hannah s confusion and horror Yolen conveys the theme that it is important to remember the past. In Mapping the Bones Yolen expresses the same theme, but through Gittel s remembrance of what happened to her during the Holocaust. In the present, Gittel says that she has, five adopted children, all orphans of other wars. (Mapping the Bones 411). Because she refuses to forget what happened in her past she applied what she learned into her present day life. By remembering, she helped five other children involved in wars to raise them better than how she had been raised. This illustrates the theme that remembrance is important to the ... • 10. American Education System Faulty It is a well known fact that Americans, in comparison to other developed nations worldwide, lags in academic achievement as evidenced by various international assessments. The results of such assessments have led many to question the reasons behind it is the American education system faulty, is the population simply too large to fully educate, or is it the lack of motivation in all parties involved? Though these aspects are all likely to have played a role in the educational lag, the underlying reason for America s lagging academic achievement may well lie in its highly diverse population and social culture within the schools, which may not particularly foster the kind of social support necessary for success in an academic setting. While this... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... To get a sense for how low America ranks, it was found in a 2009 PISA study that the United States ranks 25th out of 33 countries on the exam, where countries such as Japan, South Korea, and Finland score consistently near the top (Sparapani et al, 2014). Such results make it clear that there is a significant difference between these nations and the US. Namely, one of the largest differences between America and other nations participating in the PISA exam is cultural diversity. In fact, nations that rank higher on the PISA exam tend to have smaller, more culturally homogenous populations with the majority of citizens holding similar views and cultural expectations of their educational system. By contrast, America celebrates its high cultural diversity, which places unique burdens on schools when considered in an educational context. Significant inequities within the American culture stem from its cultural diversity, and inspire implicit disagreements as to how education should be handled in America. For example, Laura Gonzalez (2013), an assistant professor with the department of Counseling and Educational development at the University of North Carolina, notes that the idea of respeto in Latino communities, which refers to the high esteem and respect for elders and professionals within the community, is highly valued. As a result of these values, Latino families are less likely than other ethnicities to report potential problems to the school (Bower Griffin, 2011). In this context, the family, who may be recent immigrants without the greatest grasp of the American educational system, tends view their role as being in the home. Instead, they trust the teacher to do their job while their children are at school, and choose not to interfere as a way of respecting the teacher s ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The novel has been distinctly consecrated in American culture where it remains applicable and regularly read over ninety years after publication. Why it is still relevant turns out to be clear when reading the novel. Fitzgerald tells a moderately contained and straightforward story by using an elaborate style and concerning different distinctive topics. Nick comments that at this afternoon it was the second time in his life that he had been drunk and that everything therefore had a dim, hazy cast over it (27 32). At this party Nick meets the photographer Mr. McKee, which is a important scene for characterizing Nick s sexuality. Nick describes McKee as a pale, feminine man (32) and it can be assumed that there is some sort of attraction between the two men, because of events that will follow. Nick and McKee end up leaving the party together, something Maggie Gordon Froehlich says clearly (if subtly) suggests a pickup (215). The pair drunkenly stumble into the elevator where they start making vague plans about going to lunch (39). At first sight, the confused vagueness could be seen as a representation of their intoxication, but it could also be argued that when looking closely, their talk about their plans to get lunch (when asked where, McKee answers anywhere [39]) is subliminal homoerotic intended (because they are not planning lunch at all, but rather planning to do something else). All the energy that is consumed by our population of more than 7 billion endangers our planet to the point where we are causing irreversible damage. All sources have there on way of providing information which has its own disadvantages and advantages (table I.) and with this variety some may deem to be more successful in addressing the issue. Genesis 1 4:16: Here we begin where everything is darkness and disordered, however; God puts everything into order, creating a world where life can thrive. He finally creates Adam and Eve (A E) in His image, which He meant them to be reflections of His character. He appoints them as representative to rule earth on His behalf. A E are given a choice with how they may proceed with running the world, which are represented via the Tree of Life and of the Tree of Good and Evil. Shall they trust God s definition of good and evil or shall they take autonomy and define good an evil for themselves? In chapter three a snake enters the story, who represents rebellion against God. He convinces A E to rebel by eating of the tree of good and evil, for they shall be like God. This tragic because God had already created A E in His image. A E choose to increase the stakes by turning away from God (Life Giver) and embracing death by eating of the forbidden fruit. So, they quickly fashion clothing to hide their bodies; also, they hide themselves from God knowing they lost their relationship with Him. Once God seeks ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 16. The Impact Of Handedness On Health Related Outcomes For... What genes (or classes of genes) and what environmental factors have been implicated and how might they mediate this biological effect? Discuss how handedness may be related to health related outcomes for individuals and discuss how genetic and environmental influences might mediate these effects. Introduction Handedness is a complex phenotype of humans in which individuals have a preference or advantage for use of a hand. Handedness is a not a discrete trait, but continuous. Right handedness is accepted as normal over left handedness. There are four types of handedness (left handedness, right handedness, mixed handedness, where one hand is favoured for some tasks and the other hand for different tasks, and, ambidexterity where each hand is equally strong) however, handedness is a continuum so individuals can fall within a range of different degrees of handedness. Left handedness is less common than right handedness, with only approximately 10% of people being left handed (Hardyck Petrinovich 1977). Left handedness can be further divided in to natural left handedness, where a person whose handedness is a result of genetic and cultural factors, and pathological left handedness caused by early damage to the left hemisphere of the brain. Handedness is first demonstrated between 9 10 weeks gestation, where the developing embryo begins to exhibit single arm movements (Hepper, McCartney, Shannon 1998). • 17. Type I Taste Biochemistry Abstract There are complex molecular mechanisms involved in the sensation of taste, also known as gustation. They are specific to the five differing taste qualities. Taste transduction involves taste cells of varying structure and function. These taste cells comprise of type I glial like cells, type II receptor cells, and type III pre synaptic cells. Through different mechanisms, the taste receptor cells detect a respective ligand of sweet, bitter, umami, sour, and salty tastes. It has been suggested that type I cells are involved in detection and transduction of salt through an ion channel. Type II cells operate through G protein coupled receptors that belong to the T1R and T2R families. Neuron synapses and ion channels aide in the performance of type III cells. Gustatory receptors play an essential role in the detection and perception of tastes within the oral ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, recent evidence suggests an additional ability of detecting salts through ion channels. Receptor type II cells detect bitter, sweet and umami tastes. They express G protein coupled receptors (GPCRs) that are associated with gustducin, the G protein (4). GPCRs are capable of acting through varying second messenger systems to relay a signal to the interior of the cell. This signaling produces increased intracellular calcium concentrations. Increases in calcium initiate ATP release, thus triggering primary gustatory neurons in close proximity to type II cells. Type III taste cells transduce sour and salty tastes through ion channels (5). Increases in Na+ concentrations for salt tastes and increases in H+ concentration for sour tastes depolarize taste cells, releasing a neurotransmitter, for instance serotonin (5). The neurotransmitters released from the cells, such as ATP or serotonin, activate primary gustatory neurons. Signals are then carried by the axons of primary gustatory neurons for processing to the gustatory ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The biggest advantage of using lease options to invest in real estate is control. This method of investing, basically gives the investor the right to possess be in control of and profit from a property without owning it. A real estate lease option contract is a combination of two documents. The lease part of the contract is where the owner agrees to let you lease their property, while you pay them rent for a stated period of time. During the lease period, the owner can not raise the rent, rent it to anyone else, or sell the property to anyone else. The option part of the contract represents the right you purchased to buy the property in the future, for a specific price. If you decide to exercise your option to buy, the owner has to sell it to you at the negotiated price. Basic needs like food and shelter once met give rise to psychological needs, which motivate behaviour. To feel good people, have a bias for instant gratification. The FCA are taking a keen interest in behavioural economics: as professionals we need to be aware of these issues and not frame our conversations in such a way that takes advantage of a client s biases. The model is based on the numerical solution of conservation equations of mass and momentum. The results of the simulations of the flow in the form of contour and vector plots for two types of pipe bend both mitre and smooth bend with seven different Reynolds numbers (2.0+E04, 2.5+E04, 3.0+E04, 3.5+E04, 4.0+E04, 4.5+E04 and 5.0+ E04) are presented in this paper. From the obtained results, it is seen that the mitre bend produces more turbulent kinetic energy, eddy viscosity, skin friction factor compared to the smooth bend. To put an emphasis on the smooth bend for different R/D ratios, the static pressure distribution along the inner, outer wall and the pressure loss factor with different Re numbers are analyzed. However, it is noticed that as Re increases the pressure gradient changes rapidly at the inner and the outer wall of the bend. Again, the total pressure loss factor k increases as the R/D ratio decreases and due to higher velocity heads factor k decreases as Re increases. Dividend Announcements and Share Prices Dividend announcements and their impact on share prices can be explained by the semi strong form of the efficient market hypothesis (EMH). Efficient market hypothesis implies that the only thing that may impact the stock prices is new information, since all other possibly influencing parameters are already included in the firm s stock price (Palan, 2004).The efficient market hypothesis may be divided into three forms: the weak form, the semi strong form, and the strong form. The weak form implies that share prices bear or reflect the past prices and trade volume information, the semi strong form adds publicly available information to the weak form, and the strong form adds even insider information to the efficiency approach (Harder, 2008). Empirical evidences show that successive changes in stock prices are independent and this independence is in line with the efficient market hypothesis, as markets promptly react to the new information (Fama et al., 1969). In this context it may be assumed that dividend announcements convey particular positive information about the company and provide signals about future performance of the firm. The decision about paying dividends is made by the firm s managers and often supported by shareholders voting. • 38. Analysis Of Sonnet 130 Poetry is a form of writing in where the author expresses his or her emotions through style and rhythm. There is no one specific reason why people like poetry. Not only is poetry personal, it can also be deeply emotional to people, as poems can bring back memories and experiences that have resonated throughout the reader s life. Love poetryis not only deeply emotional for people, but it s something most people can relate to as most people will experience some form of love throughout their life. Easily the most famous poet in history, Shakespeare, had many thoughts on love, and many of his poems invoke this emotion. Sonnet130 specifically is thought provoking and much more relatable than other poems of the 1600 s, and like most of Shakespeare s sonnets, this poem is an expression of love. This is due to the fact that Shakespeare does not make the woman in the poem out to be some sort of goddess. In telling his mistress that he loves her, our speaker also has to give us an idea about what his love is like. He is stating who and what she is, and that at the end of the day, his love is not only beautiful, but unique, exclusive and rare. Sonnet 130 was written during the 1600 s. Many poets during this time stylised their lover or whomst ever they were writing about as divine and perfect in everyway. Sonnet 130 is considered by many to make a mockery of this. This sonnet compares the speaker s lover to a number of other beauties, and never in the lover s favor. In the first ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 43. Public Key Infrastructures Businesses are becoming ever more dependent on digital information and electronic transactions, and as a result face stringent data privacy compliance challenges and data security regulations. With the enterprise increasingly under threat of cyber attacks and malicious insiders, business applications and networks are now dependent on the use of digital credentials to control how users and entities access sensitive data and critical system resources. Public key infrastructures (PKIs) are necessary to help ascertain the identity of different people, devices, and services. In a nutshell, PKIs go way beyond the use of user IDs and passwords, employing cryptographic technologies such as digital signatures and digital certificates to create unique credentials that can be validated beyond reasonable doubt and on a mass scale ( What is pki? n.d., p. 1).... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Third parties normally trust digital certificates signed by public CAs like VeriSign, and SecureNet. Additionally, the overhead of managing a public CA is significantly lower than that of in house administration. Another advantage of using a public CA is convenience; it solves the problem of distributing the key for certificates. Using Public CA can be cost effective particularly if company has a large number of private users that need public certificates for client authentication. Like with in house CA, there are several disadvantages to public CA. The integration between your organization and the public CA is limited. While the overhead is lower than in house CA, there is still a cost associated with using one and you will usually pay per certificate. There is also less flexibility in managing those certificates as it is being handled by an outside entity. • 44. Theme Of Foreshadowing In A Doll House A Doll House by Henrik Ibsen, is a play that follows Nora Helmer and her husband Torvald Helmer through the holiday season and the fall of their marriage. Within the two acts there are many figurative language devices used to help further the story along, however, there are a few in specific that stand out. The play s foreshadowing, symbolism, and irony all contribute the most to the play s overall development of Nora s self affirmation. Foreshadowing in A Doll House is present from the beginning of the story. Much of which is not noticeable until later events. In the beginning of Act 1 Nora hides her macaroons from Torvald, HELMER: Hasn t Miss Sweet Tooth been breaking rules in town today? ... taken a bite at a macaroon or two? NORA: No, Torvald. (Ibsen, 1657). Although it is minor in nature, it reveals Nora s character of being rebellious despite Torvald s wishes. The effect this characterization has on the story is that she is not the obeying wife that many were in the Victorian Era. Through this foreshadowing the reader can begin to identify the conflicts of Nora and Torvald s relationship that get developed on as the play progresses. Another example of foreshadowing is in Act 2 when Nora is getting ready to leave out to town, when she engages in a conversation with Anne Marie about the children asking, Do they ask for me much? . To which Anne Marie responds, They re so used to having Mama around, you know. . This is important because Nora replies with, Yes, but Anne Marie, I can t be together with them as much as I was. (Ibsen, 1675). This hints towards Nora abandoning her role as a mother, which in the end occurs when she leaves Torvald to find herself and become independent. The foreshadowing throughout the play contributed to the dramatic ending. Symbolism in A Doll House is another key element in the development of the play. The setting of the play was during Christmas Eve throughout December 26th. Typically, this is the ending of the year and represents family being together. However, as the play progresses, the optimistic outlook on Christmas that is expected changes. In the opening description of the setting in Act 1 Nora tells Helene, Hide the tree well... • 45. Biology Reflection As the bell rung for the end of first period, I gathered my things and began to walk to my second period class, Biology. Biology was always to me the hardest subject I had ever dealt with because there was so much to learn, study, and truly understand. I walked through the door into the classroom and I ll never forget the words I heard my teacher say that caught me so off guard. Get out your notes and study because you have a test today , he said. As I heard him finish his sentence, my eyes widen and I quickly moved towards my seat and began to skim over my notes as fast as I could. I had completely forgot that I had a test in biology. While reading over my notes, I kept thinking to myself that I just knew I was going to fail this test. After a couple of minutes of studying, I heard the teach yell 5 more minutes . I began to skim even faster over my notes. It felt like time was moving so fast because when I heard my teach yell times up , it seemed as if only 2 minutes had passed by. He passed out the answer sheet around the classroom and instructed us to fill out our student ID numbers. I looked over the unfilled answer sheet and counted the amount of questions. There were 30 questions in total which frightened me even more because I had to answer 30 questions on information that I barely studied. Then he handed out the test and I became extremely nervous because not only did I barely study and there were 30 multiple choice questions, but the classroom was so cold that ...
