Cost Benefit Analysis of Apprenticeship Program
Cost Benefit Analysis of Apprenticeship Program
A. Specific project being Proposed One major issue with our educational system is that it takes
an all or nothing approach after a student completes the standard 12 years of education. A student
foes to college or they join the workforce without any actual job skills. This system worked in the
past because of the abundance of industrial or manufacturing jobs that paid a decent wage and
offered long term job security. These jobs are disappearing as we transform from an industrial
economy into a more technological and services oriented one. The gap between skilled and
unskilled workers is widened and the middle class shrinking. I propose a job training/ apprentice
program. Under this program business would get a tax credit that would cover 50% of the wages
for the individuals hired. The tax credit would be applied over a specific duration of the
apprenticeship ranging anywhere from 1 5 years depending on their level of production. I plan to
look at the cost of other similar programs that exist in several states and try to calculate a national
average. To calculates benefits the report will assess the total social costsand benefits of the
apprentice program. The will include the perspective of all stakeholders involved, specifically the
role of the apprentice, sponsors and employers, government agencies and society. each stakeholder:
apprentices, employers, sponsors, government agencies, and society as a whole. All costs and

Rn to Bsn Essay
Competencies between BSN and ADN, RN Nurses There are numerous differences in
competencies between BSN and ADN. Nursing is a dynamic profession and life long learning is
essential for nurses to stay current with the increased complexity of the healthcare needs of today
and into the future. In other words, the needs of our patients are changing, as we must change in
order to be prepared to better serve that need. Nursing has a long history of formal education
which moved out of hospitals and into colleges and universities early last century. The associate

LPN s assist in assessments, and patient care planning to help set up goals to reach desired
medical outcomes with the most efficiency and painless way possible. The patient is always the
main concern in any goal and outcome with patient care planning. LPN s carry out the orders of
the physician, by administering medications and treatments to the patients assigned to them.
LPN s are often the voice of the doctor when it comes to patients care. LPN s want to make sure

A Humean Critique of Descartes Essay
A Humean Critique of Descartes
Montreal has big potholes. Lots of them. If one is to truly understand the philosophy of Hume and
Descartes, one must understand what they would do with crummy roads as civil engineers in
Montreal. Hume would probably repave the roads based on the success of past designs and the
results of empirical data. Descartes, on the other hand, would probably leave nothing unscathed
after attacking the problem with reason, scrapping the existing roadmap and re building roads with
new foundations and new directions. This allegory underlines a central question of a Hume
Descartes comparison: if Hume s road to knowledge needs improvement, does Descartes know
where to start or where he is going? The following ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Descartes used relations of ideas as the foundation for his method for acquiring knowledge.
Descartes writes that disciplines which rely on composite things are doubtful, and arithmetic and
geometry contain something certain and indubitable (Descartes 61). For example, 2+3=5 is a
relation of ideas because 2+3 #8800;5 is a contradiction. The Discourse on Method constitutes a
series of demonstrative reasonings. For Descartes, knowledge is clarity and distinctness, and
demonstrative, mathematical reasoning pave the way toward this knowledge. Descartes thought
that logical deduction from first principles could uncover a whole series of truths about the world.
Hume rejects the use of relations of ideas to acquire knowledge and instead turns to
accumulation of data. Hume writes that demonstrative reasoning fails to uncover the relation
which governs our understanding of matter of fact: cause and effect. A priori reasoning which
ignores experience cannot draw any inference concerning real existence and matter of fact
(Hume17). This is the central proposition of the Inquiry: causes and effects are discoverable, not
by reason, but by experience (17). For Hume, empiricism paves the way to knowledge and
custom, the codified accumulation of knowledge, serves as the great guide of human life (28).
Knowledge is simply a belief reinforced by experience a far cry from the Cartesian certainty and
clarity. The collection of

Unit 3 Analysis Art
Learning Unit Three Analysis Unit three is comprised of chapters ten through fifteen. Within those
six chapters there are actually two different sections. Chapters ten and eleven make up the first
section about the state. Chapters twelve, thirteen, fourteen, and fifteen create the second section
about self and society. The one thing these two sections have in common is they both have to do
with people and society. Section three is about the state; how art pertains to the government and
war and how art can be used to protest the government. The title of chapter ten is Power, Politics,
and Glory. This chapters shows us how governments, especially historical governments, use art to
show off and in some cases for practical use too. One example... Show more content on

The first chapter in this section is chapter twelve Mind and Body. This chapter focuses on
humans as individuals and how artist interpret people and feelings. A good example of this is
Vincent Van Gogh s Portrait of Dr. Gachet. Van Gogh s style of painting makes the viewer really
experience the feelings of Dr. Gachet. Chapter thirteen is about Race, Gender, Clan, and Class.
This is an important topic because everyone is born with each of those and it will affect them for
their whole lives. An example that sums up this chapter is Marc Chagall s Over Vitebsk.
Chagall was exiled from Russia for being Jewish and this painting is a fictional view of his
childhood neighborhood in Russia. Chapter fourteen is about Nature, Knowledge, and
Technology. This chapter is important because those three thing are always surrounding us. An
example of art from the chapter is Andreas Vesalius of Brussels The Forth Plate of Muscles. This
artwork pertains to the chapter because this piece of art came from an old anatomy book so it
shows how art and knowledge intersect. The last chapter is fifteen, this chapter is about
Entertainment and Visual Culture. These are also topics that are always around us in today s
society. An example from the book is a scene from Julie Taymor s The Lion King. This is a well
known movie that was reimagined as a play which give the audience a new

Zinn Columbus Summary
In scholarly documents, authors have a tendency toward certain biases scratching the surface of
certain events while going in depth to others. Zinn s application to Samuel Eliot Morison s book
regarding Columbus is clear evidence of neglect on aspects of history (i.e. genocide of Native
Americans). Morison s emphasis [on] the heroism of Columbus and his successors as navigators
and discoverers, and de emphasis [on] their genocide, is not a technical necessity but an
ideological choice (Zinn Ch. 1). In Morison s belief, Columbus was a hero worth praising, even
though he enacted cruel acts of violence. He takes note of Columbus s misgivings, yet chooses to
avoid the topic overall; Morison, under his ideological beliefs, decided to paint a... Show more

It is therefore more deadly (Zinn Ch. 1). The danger of fallacies in scholarly works are much more
detrimental to people s conception of history, science, etc. than that of fallacies of politicians. One
usually accepts the textbook discussions of a scholar, while acts more objectively to political
rhetoric because of long standing predispositions. Thus, people often hold trust to scholarly works,
but insodoing, they allow influence that might just be unaligned with reality. With all of the
monstrosities that have occurred, one can only hope that our future may be found in the past s
fugitive moments of compassion rather than in its solid centuries of warfare (Zinn Ch. 1). Because
it is seemingly impossible to find peace in the world, many fear that the future will be marred with
violence and destruction following the example that has already occurred. Nevertheless, Zinn hopes
that the future will be better than the past; he hopes that they, rather than follow genocidal acts that
have occurred in the past, will follow the loving and compassionate acts that

The Civil Rights Movement In Pan-Africanism And Black Power
Black power is the result of provoking a century s worth of submission, struggle and suffering. For
many, America was considered divided between the whites and blacks, which caused protest from
the African Americans due to the racial inequality. For the past century, blacks have led passive
protest with little or no change to their well being. Black poweraims to change that, one of their
core ideology is that Blacks must unite without the help of whites to face racismwhile not standing
idle and using any means necessary. Black power stems from the influences of Pan Africanism and
Black empowerment while also going against the core ideas present in Civil Rights Movement like
the nonviolence movement. The Black power protesters wanted separation from the whites which
is similar to the Pan Africanism movement proposed by Marcus Garvey. Marcus Garvey is an
advocate for black nationalism and was a leader in the Pan Africanism movement. Marcus
supported the idea of going Back to Africa which was what the Pan Africanism movement was
all about. Garvey even founded a steamship company called Black Star Line with black officers
and crew. Comparatively, Black Power also has a strong stance on the Back to Africa as Bayard
Rustin says in Black Power and Coalition Politics, ...Negroes are once again turning to
nationalistic slogans, with black power affording the same emotional release as Back to Africa ...
did in earlier periods of frustration and hopelessness . This shows

Concerning His Poems, Alfred Lord Tennyson’S Work Relies
Concerning his poems, Alfred Lord Tennyson s work relies on an extensive thematic scheme. In
Tennyson s poem, The Charge of the Light Brigade , a number of themes are present including
heroism, honor, patriotism, and loyalty. Put together, Tennyson tells the story of a cavalry brigade
facing their destiny head on.
Alfred Lord Tennyson s poem The Charge of the Light Brigadetells the story of a cavalry battle
that took place during the Crimean War. The poem begins by throwing the audience directly into the
heat of battle. Midway through the first stanza, Tennyson states that Forward, the Light Brigade!
Charge for the guns! [H]e said. Into the valley of Death Rode the six hundred (lines 5 8). In the
second stanza, the phrase Someone ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To be a patriot means to show extreme support for ones cause or ideas. In stanzas two and three,
Tennyson makes it clear that the men are patriots by stating that Theirs not to reason why, [t]heirs
but to do and die. Into the valley of Death Rode the six hundred...Stormed at with shot and shell,
[b]oldly they rode and well, [i]nto the jaws of Death, [i]nto the mouth of hell [r]ode the six hundred
(Tennyson 13 15, 22 26). The fact that the soldiers marched onto the battlefield without a second
thought ...knowing all the while that they will pay with their lives for their heroism (Mazzeno)
shows a great deal of patriotism. Even though the men knew they were charging into their almost
certain death, they kept marching. They believed their cause was more important than their own
lives. Additionally, the next theme present is loyalty. Upon receiving the order to attack it can be
assumed that the soldiers knew they were marching towards their deaths. Stephanie Markovits
wrote and articles that states that ...seven hundred British cavalry proceed at a rapid pace, and in
perfect order, to certain destruction (Markovits 12). With this in mind one can only imagine the
thoughts running through these men s heads. It can be inferred that at least one of the six hundred
thought about turning and running. Or one that thought about disobeying orders. But not a one did
such a thing. The cavalry continued to march in perfect unison to meet their destiny face

The Colonists Actions And British Government s Responses
3. The Colonists Actions and British Government s Responses 1760s 1770s The imposition of
taxes on the American Colonies by the British Government in the 1760s set in motion a series of
action and reaction that led to a break between the components of the British Empire. Americans
responded with much anger and public resistance to the Stamp Act in 1763. Much of this
resistance was expressed in the colonies of Massachusetts and Virginia. In Massachusetts, the
mobs not only threatened violence, but damaged and at times destroyed the property of officials
who were involved in the Stamp Act s implementation. Virginia on the other hand took legislative
action denouncing the imposition of taxes on the Colonies by Parliament. It was Virginia s
example that was followed nine of her sister colonies when their legislatures made similar
resolutions. These actions also lled to the formation of the Stamp Act Congress in October 1765
(Middlekauff, 2005). This Stamp Act Congress sent an appeal to Parliament and the King
requesting the repeal of the Stamp Act with the justification that the costs associated with the act
would prevent the colonies from purchasing British goods (Brown Carp, 2014). Conflict over the
Stamp Act caused great discord in Parliament over how to deal with the colonies. It also caused
British merchants to appeal to Parliament because of their lost revenue from colonial boycotts. The
efforts to effect a repeal of the Stamp Act was aided by the dismissal of

Why Was Collectivisation
How significant was collectivisation in Russia up to 1940?
Collectivisation is debatably Stalin s most important policy and the pinnacle of Communism.
Causing drastic changes for the Russian people, it could be argued that collectivisation was very
significant in Russia up to 1940. It was a successful tool used to reaffirm Stalin s power and spread
Socialism; it fueled industrialism, turning Russia into a global superpower once more; but most
tragically, could be named the greatest agricultural and social disaster ever experienced in Russia.
However others may argue that collectivisation was extraneous: industrialisation was the main
cause of Russia s rising power; production did not increase; and it was the Great Purges and shows

It was the greatest social disaster to have hit Russian peasants, making it highly significant.
During the period of collectivisation, grain production levels were at their lowest, taking 25 years
to achieve pre collectivisation era levels, however, in order to improve the economy, grain
procurement levels were unrealistically high. This generated a widespread famine and violence in
rural Russia. Violence levels rocketed as riots against collectivisation broke out all over the
countryside. Many were shocked by the mass slaughter and human misery that it had brought
about. It is estimated that a staggering 10 15 million people died of hunger and violence during the
years of collectivisation; this number alone highlights the significance of collectivisation.
Furthermore, the famine increased as the Soviet government procured grain only for the sake of
doing so. In Ukraine, millions were left to starve in what became known as the Black Famine as the
government rooted out hidden stocks of grain, only to have them rot in warehouses. The situation
was not helped by the elimination of kulaks either; the farming expertise had been purged, thus,
there was no one to pull the peasants out of starvation. Hence, collectivisation was highly
significant as it resulted in a prodigious number of deaths, and agriculturally, was a terrible

Grappling With Grief By The Survivor Essay
Grappling with Grief Guilt is perhaps the most painful companion of death, (Brainyquote.com,
2016). Life in this day and age may often seem unkind, society is inherently violent, as
demonstrated in popular films and television series. Many individuals seek to obtain professions
that require the employee to regularly stake their own livelihood and safety on the line.
Accompanied by the risk necessary to earn nominal wages, exists the probability that friends and
co workers, with whom one may have developed a personal closeness and affection, will from
time to time be injured and killed in the line of duty. With added longevity in that career, death
comes part and parcel. Chalking it up to being the nature of the beast, may be a successful
defensive posture for a period of time. For many people, however, the day will inevitably come
when reflection and introspection become more frequent, guilt sets in for having lived while
many others perished. The fairness of life being called into question by the survivor, the long
term psychological effects become insurmountable (Goodtherapy.org, 2016). The bereavement
just described is a condition known as survivor s guilt, and is just one of many symptoms that
can be expected when grappling with loss of life complexities. Conceptually, death is often
regarded as somewhat of a forbidden topic; this attitude may lend itself to limited awareness of
grieving processes that can cripple the bereaved. Regardless of career choice, death is

Imagine if you had a father that left, a crippled sister, and a mother that only cared about herself.
For Tom Wingfield, this is exactly what his family is like. Tom s father left years before the play

this means he has to help his family and stay at home because Amanda does not help Laura. Tom,
Amanda, and Laura each try to escapereality and resort to things they love to do.
Amanda has a very hard time raising Laura, so for Tom, this means that he has to help out a lot.
While trying to pay the bills and take care of his family, Tom has to find ways to escape his
stressful life. After work almost every day, it is likely for Tom to go out and do something. I go
to the movies because I like adventure (33). Amanda asks Tom why he goes to the movies so
often and he says it is because he likes adventure. At home, Tom always has to take care of Laura
and Amanda so a way to escape the stress of this, he goes to the movies. Tom wishes that instead
of staying at home to take care of his family, that he could leave just like his father. People go to
the movies instead of moving! (61). What Tom is saying is about himself, instead of moving out
and leaving forever, Tom goes to the movies to escape his family and the hatred towards his job.
Amanda should be focusing on the present, but instead, she needs to escape the reality of her
problems.

Gristan Und Isolde Analysis
Richard Wagner changed the world s understanding and perception of opera when he composed,
Tristan und Isolde . This opera is based on the romantic legend, Tristan , by Gottfried von
Strassburg. What distinguishes this particular work from anything else of its time is the foundation
and meaning of love and the untraditional love story that unfolds. Wagner does not hesitate to
violate the collective regard for the love of life and, in turn, the life of love. By writing his own
libretto, Wagner s operasymbolizes what perfect love is and the way in which it contributes to
eternal life and death. Over the course of his life, Wagner was regarded as a determined and
somewhat controversial individual. His compositional works are no exception to these
characteristics. This is largely due to the fact that his libretto writing is reflective of his own
experiences and feelings. When he had written Tristan und Isolde, Wagner was coping with drama
and complication in his personal life. At this point of his life he was married to Minna Planner.
Their relationship faced some hardship and developed into a rigid partnership. During this time,
Wagner was a very vulnerable being and took comfort in his companion, Mathilde Wesendonk.
Her husband, Otto Wesendock, was a very wealthy banker and a patron of Wagner s work. He
provided Wagner with a small villa to reside in to continue composing and inventing. Eventually,
Mathilde moved in next door to Wagner. As their relationship continued to flourish, they
progressed from a teacher and student dynamic to adulterous lovers. Unfortunately, the situation
resulted in a crisis, exposing their inappropriate relationship in the process. This turn of events
inspired Wagner to write the libretto of Tristan und Isolde as he was left with dissatisfaction and
unfulfilled passion. This turn of events in his life prompted Wagner to stop writing another one of
his most highly regarded pieces, Der Ring des Nibelungen , to begin writing Tristan und Isolde .
One of the more notable pieces of inspiration of his libretto resulted after meeting philosopher,
Arthur Schopenhauer. Many of Schopenhauer s ideas were eye opening and impactful on Wagner s
general perception. His first form

Gang Stalking Research Paper
Organized stalking is a very well know reality occurring to an untold amount of people a crossed
the United States. Our U.S Government and intelligence agencies are fully aware of this. They
are also aware of its direct purpose of the slow destruction of the targeted individual s life this
includes the deliberate ending of their life. Mr. Ted L. Gunderson (1929 2011) retired from the
F.B.I as Senior Special Agent In Charge of the Los Angeles Field Office. In his affidavit dated
26 April 2011 he refers to organized stalking by its slang name gang stalking. In a five page nine
paragraph sworn affidavit Gunderson stated, in paragraph one gang stalking groups and gang
stalking methods reasonably describes an ongoing, active, covert nationwide program that is in
effect today, and, based on my investigations and experience, has been operational since at least
the early 1980 s . It is thought by many and publicly stated by his long time friend and doctor that
Gunderson s death was not accidental. Gunderson s doctor stated in a video made public shortly
after Gunderson s death that he did have the signs and symptoms of someone who was being
poisoned by arsenic. Gunderson also believed and publicly stated he had become a targeted
individual. The victims of organized stalking are referred to as targeted individuals... Show more

there is a systematic counterintelligence characteristic to the crime. Gang stalking also precludes the

The Ethical Beliefs Of Judaism And Judaism
Judaism is a way of life for the devout Jew as it has significant abundance of traditions and
teachings associated with it. Its main aim is to form a proper manner between an individual and
God, and the second is the proper manner between two or more people. The core ethical teachings,
the Commandments of the Torah, the Prophetic Vision, the Book of Proverbs and its teachings
bestowed upon it, Wisdom, Righteousness, Purity and Generosity of Spirit are a constant reminder
of the Jews relationship with God.
The Commandments of the Torah Halachah which means the way of life is the foundation of the
Jewish ethical system and the essence of the 613 mitzvot, which include the written and oral Torah.
The Ten Commandmentsthat were given to Moses by God on Mount Sinai is the basis of the
covenant between God and the Jewish people and state the central code of conduct for a devout Jew
. These commandments are split into positive and negative commandments, which highlight how a
Jew should and should not conduct themselves. The positive commandments deal with the
relationship and worship between God and his people of Israel. This can be seen in the
commandment, You shall have no other gods before me The negative commandments are
concerned with individuals and their relationship with the community on what they should not do.
An example of this would be, You shall not murder

While, on the poem, he returns to his homeland in Geats and becomes a king, but on the film,
Hrohtgar rewards him to be a king of Heorot and also marry with Hrohtgar s wife (eventough on
the poem, this part is not coming up with). In other case, a representation of Grendel in the poem
and the film has a bit differences. Grendel ,in the film form, comes up to Heorot and kill almost
people in the hall, but on the poem form, Grendel watches Beowulf as Hrothgar s coast guard
and kill almost people in the hall slowly. The differences also in the representation of Beowulf

Grendel s mother, but he kisses Grendel s mother when he follows Grendel s mother till her lair.
It is quite different when on the poem form, Beowulf slays Grendel s mother in Grendel s lair.
Back into the plot, the diffences also we can see for the reason why the dragon attacks Beowulf

telling us that dragon attacks Beowulf s kingdom because a thief distrubs dragon s treasure. The
second is telling us that it is just happened, suddenly the dragon attacks his kingdom. The scene on

Social Control In Hedda Gabler
Henrik Isben s Hedda Gabler is a problem play that deals with several social conflicts that a
newlywed woman experiences when we arrives back to her home town from her honeymoon. As
the daughter of General Gabler, Hedda Gabler has been born into and grown accustom to being at
the top of her town s social hierarchy. Because of Hedda s social status and undeniable beauty she
has the ability to control and manipulate those around her but to a certain extent. The time the play
was set in, women did not have a lot of freedom to do anything outside of getting married, having
children and attending to the house. Hedda did not fit this mould that was created for women of
that time. She was not very maternal individual and reactive negatively... Show more content on

Hedda desperately needs to believe that the expectations of her society do not control ever
person who dwells within it. Eilert LГёvborg serves as living proof to Hedda that a person can
live their live the way they choose to without conforming to the norms of society and she is
attracted to as well as secretly envies him for that eminence. Hedda sits at the top of the social
ladder she has a long way down if she slips up and falls below what is socially accepted and
expected from her. And for that reason she is deathly afraid of a scandal. Eilert LГёvborg on the
other hand, had the courage to live life after his own mind (Ibsen 298). He led a life that was
considered less than respectable in the eyes of his community, consisting of alcohol abuse and
scandalous visits to the towns women s boudoirs. Eilert LГёvborg had little self control over his
actions once he started drinking and would go on binges for days at a time. To Hedda, Eilert
LГёvborg was daring brave because he was able to do the very thing that she was very afraid of
which was to live life carefree from the judgments of her society. She also enjoyed the power and
control she possessed over him. When Eilert LГёvborg tells her the truth about his manuscript he
confesses that Thea Elvsted has inspired him to lead nobler lifestyle: I ve lost all desire for that

Summary Of The Movie Neanderthal
I think the movie did portray the neanderthals abilities realistically. When Charlie made fire, used
stone tools for his benefit, and hunted for small game in his habitat it showed a strongly realistic
perception of him. When looking at archaeological evidence, we see that Neanderthals could carry
out these duties and this is how they survived. Another time Charlie was perceived realistically was
when he adapted to his new environment so quickly. A neanderthals frontal lobe shows some of the
first signs of advancement among early hominins. With this being said, Charlie figured out quickly
how to hunt game, communicate with Shepherd, and how to make fire in his new setting.
Neandertals had to have been skilled hunters. These findings are part of a growing body of
literature that suggests
Neandertal subsistence behavior was more complex than previously thought (Wong, 2000). In the
movie, Shepherd questions if Charlie could interact socially with him and somewhat understand
his english. Charlie does a great job of showing social communication to Shepherd. He has his
own kind of language, which they interpret and understand what he is saying. Charlie also shows
signs of understanding what Shepherd says to him. When he told him no, Charlie kind of turns
away or gets upset as if he knew what no meant. When they realize Charlie is asking where his
children are, he draws children in the dirt. This proved that Charlie had potential for living among
humans today. Charlie also

Gas Chromatography Lab Report
For this experiment, Gas Chromatography (GC) is utilized to observe the streo and regiochemistry
among four elimination products under either basic or acidic conditions. The reagents used in this
experiment include primary and secondary alcohols which are in acidic conditions and
dehydrobromintion of primary and secondary alkyl halides in basic conditions. When reacted the
gas products are collected and undergo further analysis in the GC which will separate the product
into its components and will show the different distributions among the product. Theory In an

The reaction then proceeds in a deprotonation of a beta hydrogen while that remaining bond is
turned into an alkene to remove the carbocation. The products for these reagents are different
according to the selectivity of the beta protons. A 1 butene product results from a deprotonation of
the terminal methyl group and a cis or trans 2 butene product if the beta hydrogen is removed
from the methylene group on the other side of the carbocation. 2 butanol will produce these 3
products above; however, 1 butanol will undergo an unstable primary carbocation which will only
result in 1 butene. When observed in the GC it will experimentally result in this specific selectivity
for these reactions as well. For the reagents in basic conditions however will react with a strong
bulky base (potassium tert butoxide ) which will result in an E2 mechanism with no competition
with a substitution mechanism. For this mechanism, 1 bromobutane and 2 bromobutnane, will also
result in the 3 products described above, but will proceed in a faster reaction. First the reagent has
to rearrange where the beta protons are anti periplanar to the bromine atom. Unlike the E1

Similarities Between Frederick Douglass And Robert Carter
Robert Carter, who freed more than 500 slaves in his lifetime, and Frederick Douglass, who
escaped from slavery and wrote books, made newspapers and spoke to large audiences of
Massachusetts abolitionists both fought hard to end slavery in their own different ways. In the
early to middle 1800s slavery was a big problem, and people were starting to notice. People
thought that someone else would end it, and they didn t have to do it all by themselves, but these
two were proactive in the fight. Their different characteristics, but similar goal helped the US reach
a slaveryfree country. Whereas Frederick Douglass had to escape slavery to preach for equality,

How The Film Industry Has A Huge Budget For The City Over...
PART 2 CIRCULAR ECONOMY
Nowadays people know the price of everything and the value of nothing Oscar Wilde, 1890
Again, my concern started with a personal experience. In 2014, I was working as an Experience
Designer for Universal Pictures NBC International Ltd. .
The film industry has a huge budget to spend on the building of visual artefacts. However, I was
quite shocked by the squandering of resources I witnessed. There was no care or awareness of
sustainability. Also, I expected designers and production to work much more closely together,
which would have prevented much waste in the first place. Yet, the film industry being as
hierarchical as it is, production never got back to me.
According to the London Data store,
London is already the third busiest city in filmmaking in the world, behind LA and New York. This
booming industry has brought ВЈ770m of investment to the city over the last four years.

I have always been fascinated by transforming materials into something magical. Yet most of the
time my task was to transform the very cheapest materials into a luxuriously looking illusion.
Obviously as a designer one aims to make the best of available resources in the most efficient
way. But ever working quicker and faster and thus taking a toll on quality, made me feel
uncomfortable. I felt trapped in a Kleenex society (source?) a disposable product which we buy,

Informal Fallacies Of An Informal Fallacy
Our lives revolve around money. The value of a dollar does not buy much anymore; everything
comes with a price tag. The media likes to entice people with catchy slogans, celebrities or any
other setup just so they can obtain our money. Once they grasp our attention we realize most of
these attention grabbers had no relation to their argumentor what they are trying to sell. Thus the
correct term for the types of misleading ads and television commercials is called informal fallacies.
The purpose of an informal fallacycan be to enact reactions from the audience, used to discredit a
person or lastly appeal to a certain outlook. They mainly lack the validity in order to prove their
argument. The media provides us with many scenarios using different forms of informal fallacies.
I will provide three notable examples of informal fallacies by explaining the type of fallacy and why
the media used this fallacy.
To start off, I should first differentiate between a formal and informal fallacy. A formal argument
is when the argument lacks the correct structural form. The form of the fallacy will then be able
to tell us if the fallacy is valid or invalid. The difference is in the way the argument is written,
informal fallacies lack context in order to make the argument. For example, I came across a
nationwide commercial that took a different approach in order to sell to the public. Rather than sell
to their audience some reasons why they should chose to consult with the company they

This, in fact, could prove to be very limiting for its use in military operations outside of the U.S.
Navy. At one point during the development of the MQ 8 series, the U.S. Army briefly tested a
four bladed version of the MQ 8A, but quickly halted testing concluding that the smaller and
cheaper Raven could provide the same capabilities (CITE). Although the MQ 8C has improved
lifting capacity, the Army has not shown renewed interest in the new platform. The Avenger on
the other hand has a massively configurable weapons delivery system. Capable of carrying
weapons as large as 2,000 pounds, such as hellfire missiles, and a variety of smaller weapons, the
Avenger stores its weapons payload inside a bay in its fuselage. This highly configurable bay
allows up to seven different kinds of weapons to be easily reconfigured in order to support a wide

Though there are numerous determinants that resulted in the Financial Crisis of 2008, wage
stagnation for the majority of Americans and increasing income inequality are among the most
influential. The housing bubble that was fueled by subprime lending and indebtedness was a
subsequent result of these two determinants. This essay will analyze the two factors (income
inequality and wage stagnation) that contributed to the onset of the crisis, factors that are

Moreover, as the top percentage of Americans accumulated more wealth, the remaining
percentage (primarily the middle class) wages stagnated. This furthered the income inequality
between the wealthy elite those who had the financial means to significantly influence politics
and the middle and lower classes those who struggled to maintain the basic welfare of their
families and their social standing. As the gap increased and financial policies began to benefit
primarily the top percent of wealthy Americans, the remaining percentages were forced to spend
more for critical services like education and health care even though their wages were stagnated.
This resulted in households spending larger portions of their incomes and saving less for the
long run. Debt accumulation for middle class and lower class households rose significantly in
the decades prior to the crisis. (Within the financial sector, debt rose from 22 percent of GDP in
1981 to 117 percent in 2008). As households spent more and saved less, they began relying heavily
on loans and speculation to sustain their spending. The housing market in the late 1990s and early
2000s became the primary focus of spending with banks giving out loans for houses far beyond the
financial means of the one s acquiring them. As J. D. Wisman asserted in Wage Stagnation, Rising
Inequality, and the Financial Crisis, the housing market was greatly stimulated by very low interest

The Importance Of Motherhood
Being a mother is a lifelong commitment that will bring many smiles and tears; making this

may have to work for financial reasons or some may choose to work simply because it is what
they love to do. Society screams that it is no one s place to tell anyone who to be, where to work,
or how to raise their kids, but this is the mask they wear as they cultivate their own opinions. They
teach the selfish way of thinking as well as going against the natural when intruth there is nothing
more natural than motherhood. In fact, the words motherand selfish do not belong in the same
sentence together. The decision of being just a full timemom or to hold down a job, is up to an
individual based from their opinions, and their opinions alone; however, most women do not
consider the fact that the choice they are making affects more than themselves now that the life
choices of another is in their hands. Society s view on women has drastically changed in the last
century. For example, acentury ago it was expected of mothersto stay at home and care for their

As a growing majority of middle class families fall victim to the economic devastation of the
Great Recession, suffering from prolonged unemployment, depleted job markets and a rising cost

major media outlets in print, on television and in the blogosphere, which just a few years ago

Employees who feel pushed out of their comfort zone may also resist change, due to the
unfamiliarity of new implications or managers. The fear of uncertainties due to the lack of
communication can also lead to resistance to change on an individual level. If employees are not
informed of the needs of the change then the fear of the unknown can cause resistance. Personal
impact and fear of change are not the only causes of resistance by individuals during a change to
business practices. The lack of respect and negative attitudes can also lead to employees resisting
business change. If an employee lacks respect or has a negative attitude towards a person or
department leading the change, then there are more likely to oppose the new ideas being
implemented. Poor communication greatly impacts individuals accepted to new practices in a
company. Typically if an employee is given new behaviors to adopt, but is given no reason, then
that employee may reject the change. Upper management must effectively relate the value, need
and benefit of the change to help get employees on board with new changes. The lack of
individual input can also lead to resistance. Some individuals feel the need to be included in new
ideas. When employees are not asked to be involved in changes, they may lack the vision of
importance or will to change. A heavier workload can also cause opposition among employees.

ready for the day. But, I am realizing that waking up to disappointment only sets the mood for the
rest of your day. Waking every day with a lack of enthusiasm sets up every day for a tone of
gloom and disappointment. Therefore, when you rise each morning, you should realize that you are

The Arab Spring And The Middle East And North Africa
The Arab Spring is the revolutionary wave of protests and demonstrations in the Arab World, in
both the Middle East and North Africa. These waves and protests were done both in peace and
violence, and up to this day with the exception of Tunisia there is no clear sign if the Arab Spring
is successful or not. The Arab Spring were caused by many different factors, differing from the way
the Arab world was split in the end of the Cold War disregarding the different factions in the region,
to the injustice in government, coincidentally, resulting the war all to seemingly happen
simultaneously.
The Arab Spring sparked at the end of 2010 to much of 2011 and overflowing to the beginning of
2012. It all ignited quite literally in an incident in Tunisia when a policewoman harrases, confiscates
his cart and spits on Mohamed Bouazizi. Fed up with the way his country is being run and hopeless
he sets himself on fire, his actions then caused commotions and protest throughout his country
(Telegraph). Due to this anti government uprisings Maummar al Gaddafi and the rulers at the
country at the time fled as revolts took place. After Tunisia numerous other states took part in the
Arab Spring, revolting and protesting to overthrow their respective Authoritarian and Dictatorship
regimes. The list of countries include: Libya, Egypt, Yemen, Syria, Bahrain, Algeria, Jordan, and
Oman. In Libya on 11 February, 2011 the people organized an anti government demonstration
spread to Tripoli and

Mass Killings And Its Effects On Society
Contemporary society suffers from a wide range of problems nowadays. It is a fact that the
human development comes at the new stage of development, which starts to harm society.
Nowadays there is a considerable increase in gun abuse, violence, murders and thefts, which
have a negative impact on the society. There is no nation in the world, which can be confident in
its safety from terrorism and mass killings. Millions of people are worried about nation s welfare
and prosperity regarding the increasing number of mass killings. It is mandatory to study the
essence of mass killings and its reasons of the nationwide spread. In general, mass killings form
a threat to the society not only in the US, but in the whole world as well. Mass killings have
become a problem, which emerged from the country s level of development and country s
internal processes. The nature of mass killings is hard to predict. According to the statistics, the
average age of a murderer is 33.5 years old. Despite this fact, mass killings involve people of
different ages and occupations. There is a vast percent of teenagers, who commit murders within
the walls of the school (Duwe, 2005). It may seem that gun access may cause gun abuse and
violence among residents, which later results in mass killings (Fox, 2013). However, it is essential
to see into the roots of the problem. Community believes that a free access to gun results in
violence and gun abuse. All life facilities have become extremely expensive, and

Compare And Contrast Ancient Greek City States
Greece was organized into many different city states. All city states differed from each other in
some ways but all shared some characteristics too. City state is an independent or nearly
independent state in which political and cultural activities are concentrated in a single urban center
(Legon). They were the main city with an area of land around them. Every city state had their own
coins, government, and laws. The most common governments in the city states consisted of
monarchies, oligarchies, dictatorships, and sometimes democracies. Greek city states all were very
similar but had differences.
There were many types of governments in ancient Greece, but Athens s government was the most
unique in that time period. Most governments

Creating competitive advantage through cultural dexterity
Highlights Cultural dexterity is a business skill that enables effective collaboration and
communication among people across multiple dimensions of diversity. Collaboration within a

performance. The environment a company creates can enable or impede the success of its
employees. Leaders are personally accountable for creating a culture in which all employees clearly
understand what success is and how to achieve it and are actively encouraged to participate.

Growth in the US working age population in the next four decades will drop more than 60% from
that seen in the previous four.1 By mid century, the population of Caucasians in the US, currently
about 70% of the total, will drop below 50%.2 In an increasingly tight and diverse labor market,
companies will need cultural dexterity to attract and retain talent. The creation of an inclusive
culture that encourages productivity, creativity, and loyalty among all employees does not happen
overnight; companies that begin today will be more competitive in tomorrow s market.

  • 2. Cost Benefit Analysis of Apprenticeship Program Cost Benefit Analysis of Apprenticeship Program A. Specific project being Proposed One major issue with our educational system is that it takes an all or nothing approach after a student completes the standard 12 years of education. A student foes to college or they join the workforce without any actual job skills. This system worked in the past because of the abundance of industrial or manufacturing jobs that paid a decent wage and offered long term job security. These jobs are disappearing as we transform from an industrial economy into a more technological and services oriented one. The gap between skilled and unskilled workers is widened and the middle class shrinking. I propose a job training/ apprentice program. Under this program business would get a tax credit that would cover 50% of the wages for the individuals hired. The tax credit would be applied over a specific duration of the apprenticeship ranging anywhere from 1 5 years depending on their level of production. I plan to look at the cost of other similar programs that exist in several states and try to calculate a national average. To calculates benefits the report will assess the total social costsand benefits of the apprentice program. The will include the perspective of all stakeholders involved, specifically the role of the apprentice, sponsors and employers, government agencies and society. each stakeholder: apprentices, employers, sponsors, government agencies, and society as a whole. • 6. A Humean Critique of Descartes Essay A Humean Critique of Descartes Montreal has big potholes. Lots of them. If one is to truly understand the philosophy of Hume and Descartes, one must understand what they would do with crummy roads as civil engineers in Montreal. Hume would probably repave the roads based on the success of past designs and the results of empirical data. Descartes, on the other hand, would probably leave nothing unscathed after attacking the problem with reason, scrapping the existing roadmap and re building roads with new foundations and new directions. This allegory underlines a central question of a Hume Descartes comparison: if Hume s road to knowledge needs improvement, does Descartes know where to start or where he is going? The following ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Descartes used relations of ideas as the foundation for his method for acquiring knowledge. Descartes writes that disciplines which rely on composite things are doubtful, and arithmetic and geometry contain something certain and indubitable (Descartes 61). For example, 2+3=5 is a relation of ideas because 2+3 #8800;5 is a contradiction. The Discourse on Method constitutes a series of demonstrative reasonings. For Descartes, knowledge is clarity and distinctness, and demonstrative, mathematical reasoning pave the way toward this knowledge. Descartes thought that logical deduction from first principles could uncover a whole series of truths about the world. Hume rejects the use of relations of ideas to acquire knowledge and instead turns to accumulation of data. Hume writes that demonstrative reasoning fails to uncover the relation which governs our understanding of matter of fact: cause and effect. A priori reasoning which ignores experience cannot draw any inference concerning real existence and matter of fact (Hume17). This is the central proposition of the Inquiry: causes and effects are discoverable, not by reason, but by experience (17). For Hume, empiricism paves the way to knowledge and custom, the codified accumulation of knowledge, serves as the great guide of human life (28). Knowledge is simply a belief reinforced by experience a far cry from the Cartesian certainty and clarity. The collection of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Chapters ten and eleven make up the first section about the state. Chapters twelve, thirteen, fourteen, and fifteen create the second section about self and society. The one thing these two sections have in common is they both have to do with people and society. Section three is about the state; how art pertains to the government and war and how art can be used to protest the government. The title of chapter ten is Power, Politics, and Glory. The first chapter in this section is chapter twelve Mind and Body. This chapter focuses on humans as individuals and how artist interpret people and feelings. A good example of this is Vincent Van Gogh s Portrait of Dr. Gachet. Van Gogh s style of painting makes the viewer really experience the feelings of Dr. Gachet. Chapter thirteen is about Race, Gender, Clan, and Class. This is an important topic because everyone is born with each of those and it will affect them for their whole lives. An example that sums up this chapter is Marc Chagall s Over Vitebsk. Chagall was exiled from Russia for being Jewish and this painting is a fictional view of his childhood neighborhood in Russia. Chapter fourteen is about Nature, Knowledge, and Technology. This chapter is important because those three thing are always surrounding us. An example of art from the chapter is Andreas Vesalius of Brussels The Forth Plate of Muscles. This artwork pertains to the chapter because this piece of art came from an old anatomy book so it shows how art and knowledge intersect. The last chapter is fifteen, this chapter is about Entertainment and Visual Culture. These are also topics that are always around us in today s society. Zinn s application to Samuel Eliot Morison s book regarding Columbus is clear evidence of neglect on aspects of history (i.e. genocide of Native Americans). Morison s emphasis [on] the heroism of Columbus and his successors as navigators and discoverers, and de emphasis [on] their genocide, is not a technical necessity but an ideological choice (Zinn Ch. 1). • 9. The Civil Rights Movement In Pan-Africanism And Black Power Black power is the result of provoking a century s worth of submission, struggle and suffering. For many, America was considered divided between the whites and blacks, which caused protest from the African Americans due to the racial inequality. For the past century, blacks have led passive protest with little or no change to their well being. Black poweraims to change that, one of their core ideology is that Blacks must unite without the help of whites to face racismwhile not standing idle and using any means necessary. Black power stems from the influences of Pan Africanism and Black empowerment while also going against the core ideas present in Civil Rights Movement like the nonviolence movement. The Black power protesters wanted separation from the whites which is similar to the Pan Africanism movement proposed by Marcus Garvey. Marcus Garvey is an advocate for black nationalism and was a leader in the Pan Africanism movement. Marcus supported the idea of going Back to Africa which was what the Pan Africanism movement was all about. Garvey even founded a steamship company called Black Star Line with black officers and crew. Comparatively, Black Power also has a strong stance on the Back to Africa as Bayard Rustin says in Black Power and Coalition Politics, ...Negroes are once again turning to nationalistic slogans, with black power affording the same emotional release as Back to Africa ... did in earlier periods of frustration and hopelessness . • 10. Concerning His Poems, Alfred Lord Tennyson’S Work Relies Concerning his poems, Alfred Lord Tennyson s work relies on an extensive thematic scheme. In Tennyson s poem, The Charge of the Light Brigade , a number of themes are present including heroism, honor, patriotism, and loyalty. Put together, Tennyson tells the story of a cavalry brigade facing their destiny head on. Alfred Lord Tennyson s poem The Charge of the Light Brigadetells the story of a cavalry battle that took place during the Crimean War. The poem begins by throwing the audience directly into the heat of battle. Midway through the first stanza, Tennyson states that Forward, the Light Brigade! Charge for the guns! [H]e said. The fact that the soldiers marched onto the battlefield without a second thought ...knowing all the while that they will pay with their lives for their heroism (Mazzeno) shows a great deal of patriotism. Even though the men knew they were charging into their almost certain death, they kept marching. They believed their cause was more important than their own lives. With this in mind one can only imagine the thoughts running through these men s heads. It can be inferred that at least one of the six hundred thought about turning and running. • 11. The Colonists Actions And British Government s Responses 3. The Colonists Actions and British Government s Responses 1760s 1770s The imposition of taxes on the American Colonies by the British Government in the 1760s set in motion a series of action and reaction that led to a break between the components of the British Empire. Americans responded with much anger and public resistance to the Stamp Act in 1763. Much of this resistance was expressed in the colonies of Massachusetts and Virginia. In Massachusetts, the mobs not only threatened violence, but damaged and at times destroyed the property of officials who were involved in the Stamp Act s implementation. Virginia on the other hand took legislative action denouncing the imposition of taxes on the Colonies by Parliament. It was Virginia s example that was followed nine of her sister colonies when their legislatures made similar resolutions. These actions also lled to the formation of the Stamp Act Congress in October 1765 (Middlekauff, 2005). This Stamp Act Congress sent an appeal to Parliament and the King requesting the repeal of the Stamp Act with the justification that the costs associated with the act would prevent the colonies from purchasing British goods (Brown Carp, 2014). Conflict over the Stamp Act caused great discord in Parliament over how to deal with the colonies. It also caused British merchants to appeal to Parliament because of their lost revenue from colonial boycotts. The efforts to effect a repeal of the Stamp Act was aided by the dismissal of ... Causing drastic changes for the Russian people, it could be argued that collectivisation was very significant in Russia up to 1940. It was a successful tool used to reaffirm Stalin s power and spread Socialism; it fueled industrialism, turning Russia into a global superpower once more; but most tragically, could be named the greatest agricultural and social disaster ever experienced in Russia. During the period of collectivisation, grain production levels were at their lowest, taking 25 years to achieve pre collectivisation era levels, however, in order to improve the economy, grain procurement levels were unrealistically high. This generated a widespread famine and violence in rural Russia. Violence levels rocketed as riots against collectivisation broke out all over the countryside. Many were shocked by the mass slaughter and human misery that it had brought about. It is estimated that a staggering 10 15 million people died of hunger and violence during the years of collectivisation; this number alone highlights the significance of collectivisation. Furthermore, the famine increased as the Soviet government procured grain only for the sake of doing so. In Ukraine, millions were left to starve in what became known as the Black Famine as the government rooted out hidden stocks of grain, only to have them rot in warehouses. The situation was not helped by the elimination of kulaks either; the farming expertise had been purged, thus, there was no one to pull the peasants out of starvation. • 13. Grappling With Grief By The Survivor Essay Grappling with Grief Guilt is perhaps the most painful companion of death, (Brainyquote.com, 2016). Life in this day and age may often seem unkind, society is inherently violent, as demonstrated in popular films and television series. Many individuals seek to obtain professions that require the employee to regularly stake their own livelihood and safety on the line. Accompanied by the risk necessary to earn nominal wages, exists the probability that friends and co workers, with whom one may have developed a personal closeness and affection, will from time to time be injured and killed in the line of duty. With added longevity in that career, death comes part and parcel. Chalking it up to being the nature of the beast, may be a successful defensive posture for a period of time. For many people, however, the day will inevitably come when reflection and introspection become more frequent, guilt sets in for having lived while many others perished. The fairness of life being called into question by the survivor, the long term psychological effects become insurmountable (Goodtherapy.org, 2016). The bereavement just described is a condition known as survivor s guilt, and is just one of many symptoms that can be expected when grappling with loss of life complexities. Conceptually, death is often regarded as somewhat of a forbidden topic; this attitude may lend itself to limited awareness of grieving processes that can cripple the bereaved. • 15. Gristan Und Isolde Analysis Richard Wagner changed the world s understanding and perception of opera when he composed, Tristan und Isolde . This opera is based on the romantic legend, Tristan , by Gottfried von Strassburg. What distinguishes this particular work from anything else of its time is the foundation and meaning of love and the untraditional love story that unfolds. Wagner does not hesitate to violate the collective regard for the love of life and, in turn, the life of love. By writing his own libretto, Wagner s operasymbolizes what perfect love is and the way in which it contributes to eternal life and death. Over the course of his life, Wagner was regarded as a determined and somewhat controversial individual. His compositional works are no exception to these characteristics. This is largely due to the fact that his libretto writing is reflective of his own experiences and feelings. When he had written Tristan und Isolde, Wagner was coping with drama and complication in his personal life. At this point of his life he was married to Minna Planner. Their relationship faced some hardship and developed into a rigid partnership. During this time, Wagner was a very vulnerable being and took comfort in his companion, Mathilde Wesendonk. Her husband, Otto Wesendock, was a very wealthy banker and a patron of Wagner s work. He provided Wagner with a small villa to reside in to continue composing and inventing. Eventually, Mathilde moved in next door to Wagner. As their relationship continued to flourish, they progressed from a teacher and student dynamic to adulterous lovers. Unfortunately, the situation resulted in a crisis, exposing their inappropriate relationship in the process. This turn of events inspired Wagner to write the libretto of Tristan und Isolde as he was left with dissatisfaction and unfulfilled passion. This turn of events in his life prompted Wagner to stop writing another one of his most highly regarded pieces, Der Ring des Nibelungen , to begin writing Tristan und Isolde . One of the more notable pieces of inspiration of his libretto resulted after meeting philosopher, Arthur Schopenhauer. Many of Schopenhauer s ideas were eye opening and impactful on Wagner s general perception. His first form ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Our U.S Government and intelligence agencies are fully aware of this. Because of Hedda s social status and undeniable beauty she has the ability to control and manipulate those around her but to a certain extent. • 22. Summary Of The Movie Neanderthal I think the movie did portray the neanderthals abilities realistically. When Charlie made fire, used stone tools for his benefit, and hunted for small game in his habitat it showed a strongly realistic perception of him. When looking at archaeological evidence, we see that Neanderthals could carry out these duties and this is how they survived. Another time Charlie was perceived realistically was when he adapted to his new environment so quickly. A neanderthals frontal lobe shows some of the first signs of advancement among early hominins. With this being said, Charlie figured out quickly how to hunt game, communicate with Shepherd, and how to make fire in his new setting. Neandertals had to have been skilled hunters. These findings are part of a growing body of literature that suggests Neandertal subsistence behavior was more complex than previously thought (Wong, 2000). In the movie, Shepherd questions if Charlie could interact socially with him and somewhat understand his english. Charlie does a great job of showing social communication to Shepherd. He has his own kind of language, which they interpret and understand what he is saying. Charlie also shows signs of understanding what Shepherd says to him. When he told him no, Charlie kind of turns away or gets upset as if he knew what no meant. When they realize Charlie is asking where his children are, he draws children in the dirt. This proved that Charlie had potential for living among humans today. Charlie also ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

PART 2 CIRCULAR ECONOMY Nowadays people know the price of everything and the value of nothing Oscar Wilde, 1890 Again, my concern started with a personal experience. • 28. Informal Fallacies Of An Informal Fallacy Our lives revolve around money. The value of a dollar does not buy much anymore; everything comes with a price tag. The media likes to entice people with catchy slogans, celebrities or any other setup just so they can obtain our money. Once they grasp our attention we realize most of these attention grabbers had no relation to their argumentor what they are trying to sell. Thus the correct term for the types of misleading ads and television commercials is called informal fallacies. The purpose of an informal fallacycan be to enact reactions from the audience, used to discredit a person or lastly appeal to a certain outlook. They mainly lack the validity in order to prove their argument. The media provides us with many scenarios using different forms of informal fallacies. I will provide three notable examples of informal fallacies by explaining the type of fallacy and why the media used this fallacy. To start off, I should first differentiate between a formal and informal fallacy. A formal argument is when the argument lacks the correct structural form. The form of the fallacy will then be able to tell us if the fallacy is valid or invalid. The difference is in the way the argument is written, informal fallacies lack context in order to make the argument. For example, I came across a nationwide commercial that took a different approach in order to sell to the public. Rather than sell to their audience some reasons why they should chose to consult with the company they ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

As the gap increased and financial policies began to benefit primarily the top percent of wealthy Americans, the remaining percentages were forced to spend more for critical services like education and health care even though their wages were stagnated.
