Neohydatothrips samayunkur, a thrips species infest African marigold, is recorded from Egypt for
the first time. A detailed description is given of how to identify this thrips species. Tageteserecta L.
were grown in the experimental farm at Giza governorate, Egypt. The Sampling was carried out
during mid
April to late July and from early September to late December, (2013 2014). A weekly sample
randomly selected and examined for the presence of thrips. Identification was based on the
morphological characters. N. samayunkur adult body is bicolor, dark brown with abdominal
segments 3 6 yellowish with brown antecostal ridge. Antenna 8 segments, Legs; Mid and hind
tarsi: 2 segmented, The hind leg tibiae is brown medially and otherwise yellow. Fore wings

Premature Infant Observation
Having the opportunity to watch a child grow over this past semester was a real eye opener. I
was able to see this particular infant hit a couple of developmental milestones for her age. My
environment was the Infant B classroom having infants ages, 6 months to 12 months. My
particular target child was almost one when I started analyzing her. Talking to the caregivers, I
found that she was premature and has a twin brother. I was able to watch the infant go from not
being able to eat off a spoon, only be able to sit in a bouncer and not being to crawl at all to being
able to slowly each from a spoon, put one foot in front another while a caregiver holding her hands
