How My Husband And Step Mother s Culture Changed Within...
Have you ever wondered why someone act or feels the way they do? Many combined variables
develops the way a person acts and feels. These variables come from learning, watching and
experiencing different aspects of life. Ultimately, these experiences shape your behaviors and
beliefs creating your culture. What happens when you go to another country, state, city or
neighborhood? Do you act and behave like the people in these places? In the broad sense
everyone acts the same in the regards to surviving; however, the details of how they live can be

Carleton University in Ottawa, Ontario, is a non denominational, private university that traces its
roots to the founding of Carleton College in 1942. It is supported in part by charitable donations

Racial Predujice toward Minority Groups
Racial prejudice toward minority groups has been a problem throughout all of history. While overt
racism and prejudice may be diminished from the days of our dark past, covert racism is very
much alive. Society loves to embellish on how far the country has come in the fight against racial
prejudice by highlighting significant events such as having the first black president. Yet there are
still too many instances of subtle racism. In 2011, there were almost 700,000 incidents of stop and
frisk policing in New York. Nine out of ten of these incidents involved blacks or Hispanics,
which is ridiculous because blacks make up less than a quarter of the New York Population
(Bobo 2013). Prejudice causes unfair treatment to innocent people. Everyone should be treated the
same and given the same amount of respect. Continuing the fight towards an unprejudiced world
has so many benefits including making sure everyone feels safe and respected in society and the
possibility to learn from other ethnic groups. A world without prejudice would be a much more
effective world with more time spent on making life better for all instead of violence and hate.
Government officials and psychologists are trying to advertise how being in contact with other
ethnic groups has reduced prejudice. Many psychologists are already praising contact theory
research for its contribution toward world peace and its efforts against prejudice (Dixon, Tropp,
Durrheim, and Tredoux 2010). However, the two empirical

Motifs In William Shakespeare s Othello
On November first, 1604, The Moor of Venice was performed for the first time in the Banqueting
House at Whitehall by William Shakespeare and his group of performers, The King s Men.
Centuries later, Othello by William Shakespeare remains one of Bard s most prominent literary
masterpieces. The use of literary devices such as motifs in the play has led Othelloto become one of
the most popular pieces of literature to this day. While some may think of these motifs simply as
recurring ideas Shakespeare placed throughout the plot to help develop the themes of the play, the
motifs in Othello help the reader gain a deeper understanding of the characters in the play. The first

In Othello, characters often refer to animals when describing other characters or themselves.
The motif of animals is primarily used in the play so that characters can emphasis their emotions
about someone or something. One character who exemplifies the motif of animals often is Iago.
Iago frequently describes others as Othello to make sure the reader is aware of his hatred for
someone. At the beginning of the play, Iago is talking to Brabantio, and describes Othello as an,
Old black ram (1.1.97). By deciding to refer to Othello as an animal, Iago reveals his utmost
hatred for Othello early on in the play. Iago s dialogue gives the reader a better understanding of
him because it tells the reader that Iago carefully chooses his words to achieve his desires. By
doing so, Iago displays the fact that he enjoys manipulating others through words, giving the reader
some insight into what Iago s true motives are. Another character that the reader can gain a better
understanding of through the motif of animals is Othello. Being a black, African man in a mostly
white, European culture, Othello is already an outsider, explaining why he is frequently described
as an animal. Although Othello is not affected by his differences at the beginning, they start to have
more of an impact on him near the end of the play, with him even going to the extreme by
describing himself

wallpaper will match your exterior seamlessly. That attention to detail blurs the line of software and
hardware together. The iPhone 5c will feel familiar but feel new at the same time.
The iPhone 5c is more cost effective than other phones. The iPhone 5c is not as graduated or
evolved as the iPhone 5s. The difference shows in price. The 5c is around two hundred dollars
less than the iPhone 5s; which brings the 5c its own appeal. The iPhone 5s has a finger print
scanner for security, which is the only thing that iPhone 5c users will be missing. That makes the
finger print scanner worth two hundred dollars. In other words, the user is not missing much with
buying the iPhone 5c. The iPhone 5c is the best investment for a quick and capable phone.

the assessment of a patient s physical status, which is the ground for any further treatment. The
assessment method that an Advanced Care Paramedic follows is a systematic assessment referred

The pulse is an indication of an individual s heart rate. When checking for a pulse in the primary
survey, begin with palpating the patient s radial or carotid artery (Basic Patient Care 2012, p.
50). This may reveal a normal (60 100 beats/min), tachycardia ( 100 beats/min), bradycardia ( 60
beats/min) or asystole heart rate. Additionally, the capillary refill may also provide details about
a patient s cardiovascular status. This is performed by applying pressure to the nail bed and
calculating the time it to takes to refill to a normal color, which should take no more then a few
seconds otherwise suggesting capillary closure (Mick J Sanders, 2012, p. 1400). An additional
accessory to Circulation is Hemorrhages, these involve more through examinations of the pulse,
blood pressure and warmth of peripheries of patients. Additionally, you must thoroughly look for
indication of bleeding, specifically in the areas around the chest, abdomen and externally seen by

next step is the assessment and maintenance of a patient s airway. This is a crucial stage as a clear
airway allows for air to move in and out of the lungs (Primary Survey Airway Evaluation, 2015).

Compare And Contrast Jesus Sermon On The Mount
And Still Is Our s Today
While Matthew and Luke both describe Jesus Sermon on the Mount, each writer emphasizes
different themes of Jesus teaching and gives different messages to their respective audiences.
Matthew, likely writing for a Jewish audience, highlights how Jesus message resonated with the
poor, how his teaching was not intended to abolish the established religious law, and how Jesus
followers should live by the spirit of the law. Unlike Matthew, Luke wrote to a predominantly
Gentile audience and in his account of Jesus s speech emphasizes that Jesus teaching calls to the
poor, asks people to actively do good, and highlights the hypocrisy in his audience. In comparison,
Matthew connects Jesus teaching to the Jewish religion ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A prominent part of Luke s account focuses on the poor. Similar to Matthew, Luke s account
directly states the piety of the poor but his account continues to scorn the rich. Luke s gospel, in
a very direct way, blesses the poor and damns the rich. Luke writes, Blessed are you who are
hungry now, for you will be filled, and directly contrasts this statement later when he writes, Woe
to you who are full now, for you will be hungry. (Luke 6:21, Luke 6:25). Luke s account of Jesus
speech emphasises that his audience, Jesus followers, should not only love pious people, but
rather they should also love impious people. After he describes people who love and lend for
personal gain, Jesus explains that a person should love sinners and others who hate them, not just
those who benefit the person themself: But love your enemies, do good, and lend, expecting
nothing in return (Luke 6:35). Luke calls his audience to love everyone and challenges them to
collaborate with their enemies. Later in Luke s account, he notes how his audience identifies the
faults in others before they examine themselves. He calls his audience to purify themselves before
helping others in order to avoid hypocrisy and uses a parable to illustrate this

Competitive Advantages Of Competitive Advantage
Competitive advantage literally is the ability to sustain profits that exceed the average for the
industry through developing distinctive competencies: distinctive, because the competitors don t
have them and because they are fundamentally difficult to replicate (Berry, 2012). Competitive
advantage through people is critical for a business to succeed. Without people, businesses would
lack the ability to have the innovations to differentiate their products or services from their
contenders in the same field of interest. People are critical from in developing and producing the
product or service for the company to drive customer satisfaction. John C. Maxwell of the
Philippine Daily Inquirer suggests that there are three C s that develop a competitive advantage.
Competition is the first one which consists of a business opponents and the market share to
compete against for the best product and service with a lower cost. Next are the challenges. These
challenges include economic handicaps that a business can face such as scarce resources. Naturally
people fear change. With change, leadership needs to move people to leave a burning building and
move in the right direction in which the company needs to. It can be uncomfortable for some, but
critical to advance beyond their competitors. The third is connectivity that companies must be in
tune with. Within an organization, even a small one, work teams can become isolated from one
another. When that happens,

Perpose Of Statement Of Purpose In Mechanical Engineering
Statement of Purpose
Mechanical Engineering has not only given us inventions such as the car that have improved our
lives but also captured the imagination of the world through space travel and the Apollo missions.
To achieve breakthrough in technology, we will always need great mentors, state of art
infrastructure and real motivation and Michigan Technological University is one of them. My four
year academic curriculum in Mechanical Engineering at Pune University has offered me the perfect
blend of theoretical subjects and laboratory work. These academic years help to build solid
foundation in the field and made me keen to learn Applied Mechanics, Finite Element method,
Design and manufacturing as part of my graduate syllabi. This career planning would help me to

Nuclear War
Talks between the U.S and the Soviet Union let by Vladimir Putin concerning a ban on nuclear
testing started in the mid 1950s. Trusted officials from both sides came to believe that a nuclear
arms race was going to reach a dangerous level. In addition, public protest against testing of
nuclear weapons was gaining power. Nevertheless, talks between the two sides carried on for
years, usually coming apart when the issues of verification were raised. Both the U.S and the
British greatly wanted on site inspections, something the Soviets strongly opposed. In 1960, the
three sides seemed not far to an agreement, but the findings of a U.S spy over the Soviet Unionin

Temporary Tattoos In The Middle East
Tattoos in the Middle East Historically tattoos have played an important role in Middle Eastern
culture. Tattoos have been especially significant in tribal communities. While traditional techniques
have lost popularity in the Islamic countries, skin decorating has remained prominent. The once
popular practice of permanent tattooinghas shifted, in many places in the Middle East, to the
practice of temporary tattooing. There is a diverse range of meaning behind tattooing in theses
countries. The tattoos were used for protection, decoration and displaying sexuality. Interestingly, it
appears as if there have not been many formal studies about the meanings and origins of tattoos in
the Middle Eastern culture. However, I was still able to find... Show more content on

Among Bedouin women the tattoos symbolize beauty, sex, and protection. It was once thought that
tattoos protected people from evil spirits. The facial tattoos serve mostly to decorate and beautify
women. Tattoos in scandalous places such as the upper thigh are meant to be seen only by sexual
partners thereby having an erotic function (DeMello 51). Another source states that the Berber
women tattooed because of their belief in supernatural energies and used tattoos to protect against
the dark energies. These tattoos are placed near places on the body deemed to be vulnerable to evil;
they were placed around the eyes, mouth, nose, belly button, and vagina. The tattoos are intended
to protect against illnesses and spirts; for example, tattoos placed on the feet defend against
possession from evil spirits (Krutak). For Algerian women tattoos signified healing and fertility,
along with beauty, and female identity (Bendaas). Tattoos may have also been used to identify
oneself as belonging to a certain tribe, displaying bravery and celebrating big life events. This
source also claimed that women used tattoos to make themselves beautiful to the men in their tribe
while deterring attention from men of other tribes. The author noted that Iranian men used tattoos
to demonstrate strength and masculinity, but reports of this phenomenon were rare in my research
(Laura). In fact, a different source

The Problem Of Energy Production
In today s society, it s nearly impossible to open a newspaper, fire up a computer, or hold a
conversation that isn t someway related to energy. Since the beginning of the industrial revolution
over a century and a half ago, nothing has been more pivotal to mankind s rise to power as the
apex species of planet earth. Had our ancestors not discovered the potential of using million year
old plant and animal remains to create combustible power, the world would look very different.
There is no denying that energy production is one of, if not, the most important developments in
human history. After a hundred and fifty years of recklessly burning oil and coal, we find ourselves
having to deal with the literal mess unforeseen by our industrious... Show more content on

There are dozens, if not hundreds of oil and coal alternatives that are being considered, however,
while many options look promising in theory the overwhelming majority of them such as: wind,
solar, and biofuel just aren t economically feasible on a global scale. Nuclear power is growing in
popularity around the world for its extreme potency and zero emissions, but advancements in the
field are few and far between due to the bad stigma that surrounds nuclear power. This negative
stigma stems from its military roots and its potential for catastrophic disaster, which has become
very real in the wake of Japan s recent natural disasters. The answer to kicking our oil habit may
actually be much simpler than any of these other alternatives. The key to securing our energy
independence may have been under our feet the entire time we were bending to the oil cartel s
(OPEC s) every demand.
Here in America we have been sitting atop a goldmine of natural gas wells that rank among the most
abundant in the world. While natural gas is by no means a renewable source of energy, reserves are
much more plentiful in America than oil. Natural gas also burns much cleaner than coal making it
friendlier to our heavily burdened atmosphere. Current estimates put our nation s natural gas supply
somewhere around twenty five hundred trillion cubic feet of technically recoverable natural gas
from all sources (Deutch, 2011). Approximately six hundred to seven hundred cubic feet lies

Ritalin And Adderall Aka ADHD Analysis
I was born with Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder or ADHD for short, but in all honesty, I
wasn t that self aware of anything being wrong. Trouble began early in school, teachers who
called me out were just dicks in my mind who didn t get my sense of humor. If you were born
color blind you may know something s different, but unless you re told something was wrong, you
d have no idea that you couldn t see red. That s how I felt in elementary school, being hyper and
distracted was just me. Granted I was a little too much sometimes, but I really didn t know why I
was being singled out all the time. The problem was, I was hyper all the time. At home and

I am blessed that I live in a time where treatment is available. There hasn t been enough time to
work out every kink in every medication and some have fairly substantial side effects. The most
common medications available are Ritalin and Adderall aka Addy if you re in the hood or my
roommate. I have taken both, but the one I found worked the best was Ritalin. The main reason
I didn t take Adderall was because it gave me migraines. Though it makes me focus it does have
side effects that can be hard to deal with. The biggest problems for me is loss of appetite and
sleep disturbance. These are side effects that are inevitable, the bottle may say you can get
headaches or dry mouth, but these pills will undoubtedly keep you up and no desire to eat.
People who have a hard time losing weight will sometimes take these to make them not want to
eat. I was able to get over that problem, but the sleep disturbance is something that can be a pain.
If I take the medication past 5 6, it will keep me wide awake until around 4 5 in the morning. It
works better than a 5 hour energy drink that s for sure. However, every medication will work on
a person in a different way, for instance when I tried using Strattera a new medication, it made me
very irritable and angry. The reason I tried Strattera was to avoid running into building a
tolerance to Ritalin. The problem with these treatments is that after using it for a long time, your
body starts to get used it and it no longer works. Both Ritalin and Adderall are currently labeled
as a Schedule 2 (II) drug under the FDA this means the drug may lead to abuse or physical
dependence. Many people with ADHD run into this problem where they need a significant amount
to get the same result. When I started, I was taking 10 mg, now however I need 40mg which is the

Earth Science Class Vs Movie Twister Comparison
Earth Science Class vs The Movie Twister Comparisons
Throughout the movie Twister, directed by Jan de Bont, we learned that the movie provides
simularites and differences between what we learned in earth science class and the movie Twister.
For example, in the movie Twister, the characters talk about weather as being revolved around
climate change that involves swirl winds, wind speed changes, temperature changes, cloud changes,
and precipitation changes. In earth science class though, we learned weather is a short abbreviation
for the state of the atmosphere which constantly changes at a given time and place. In earth science
class we learned that storm chasers are reporters who go out to specific places like Daytona Beach,
Florida, and report plus broadcast breaking news of storms that ... Show more content on

We also learned In earth science class that tornadoes typically are more likely to form when the
sky is covered with cumulonimbus or towering cumulus clouds. However, in the Twister movie,
we learned that often times meteorologists as well as forecasters will use lifted index s to pin point
a tornados whereabouts. Also in the Twister movie, we learned that tornados are often times formed
from funnel clouds created by cumulonimbus or towering cumulus clouds. Another thing we
learned from the Twister movie is that a water spout happens when tornados crosse over water and
the water then begins the get sucked up into the tornados suck zones forming a water spout. In
addition, in the movie Twister we also learned about Sister Tornados which typically spawn next to
an already occurring tornado. Most Importantly, in both earth science class, and the movie Twister,
we learned about the Fujita Scale which is a scale that classifies rating tornado intensity, based
primarily on the damage tornados inflict on human built structures and vegetation. The Fujita Scale
if rated F1 F5 with F5 being the most strongest and most severe tornados,

In the book, The Land of Stories A Grimm Warning by Chris Colfer, the main character, Rook,
changes throughout the book due to the conflicts he faces.
To show this, in the beginning of the book Rook was helping out the fairies, or more importantly

figure out why Little Bo Peep wanted to become the next queen on Red Riding Hood Kingdom. I
was going to suggest that if you re curious about Little Bo Peep s intentions, we could sneak onto
her farmand have a look around. (Colfer 135). In this piece of evidence Rook is helping Alex go
see what Little Bo Peep could be upto. He and Alex then go to her farm and look around. He
helped her discover something she otherwise might not have been able to without the help of his
idea. Rook and Alex did have a crush on each other and that could have been why he wanted to do
this as something to impress her, but he helped her nonetheless. Without the help of Rook Alex
could have never found this out. She pulled him behind a giant patch of tulips and threw her
arms around his neck. She had held it together very well, but Rook was the only person she didn t
feel like she had to be brave in front of. (Colfer 311). In this piece of evidence Alex had just had

times that day. Rook helped her relax and he also made her feel happy in the midst of all

Sexual Objectification in Music Videos and How Adolescents Are Affected
Lauren Faron, Aynsley Fishel, Nisha Patel, Menelik Solomon
The Ohio State University
Music videos are easily accessible to everyone, especially adolescents. From its earliest origins on
TV to recent upgrades to technology on the internet, such as YouTube, anyone can watch music
videos at any time of the day. Online music video sites draw an average of 150 million people each
month who view more than two billion videos per day (Mischner, Schie, Wigboldus, Baaren,
Engels, 2013). Sexually objectifying music videos have increased in the last couple of decades.
With this, more adolescents are being influenced by viewing these videos and mostly all of them
are affected in some way, either positive or negative. What a lot of people do not know is what is
happening to adolescents after viewing these types of music videos and how it can lead to
concerning effects later in development.
Literature Review
Adolescence is a crucial time in the lives of young boys and girls, especially when it comes to
viewing music videos. A survey showing that 78% of girls 12 19 years old watch MTV regularly,
making them the most frequent viewers at around 6.4 hours a week (Bell, Lawton, Dittmar, 2007).

Arguably, when the immigrants are not capable of invoking the labour and employment rights,
there is an experienced decline in the employment laws. As such, it implies that the worker may be

Reforms Securing of entry points on the border There can be no effective reforms that can be put
in place if the borders are not secured from illegal immigrants. As such, after the United States

Early Entrance Of The National Football League Draft
Early Entrance: The Road to the National Football League Draft A recent article in the Wall

Texas A M after his redshirt sophomore season. The article states, Throughout the offices and

also may be the one that ruins college football (Clark, 2014). A modification in the NFL s
collective bargaining agreement with its players, which was signed in 2011, is being accused
for a shift so dramatic, some within the game worry that the talent and recruiting of college

players are rushing to drop out of college early to start their professional careers. According to
the article, in the 2014 NFL draft there were 98 underclassmen, a 34% increase from 2013 and
an 85% increase from 2010, the year before the latest collective bargaining agreement. The
average age of an NFL player last season was 26 years 308 days, the youngest since 1987 (Clark,

stated opinion in hopes to enlighten her audience to the issue. Woolf starts her speech off by
portraying strong understatements. In paragraph 1, she starts off by saying, It s true. I am a
women; it s true I m employed . She uses a level of sarcasm when presenting this part to show that
although she is a women, she has excelled well enough to become employed in the professional
world. After this, Woolf states that her literary career was cut many years ago and that it built
her career by making her path smooth and regulating her steps. Although her literary career was
a helpful, she tries to play it off as though it was easy for her; in reality she faced many
challenges. Then she goes on to state, because paper is so cheap, women have been more
successful as writers than anything else. This allows Woolf to imply the financial differences
between men and women, without blatantly saying so. Woolf is making it seem as though this
career is easy just because it s the professionshe was able to excel in. She uses understatements for
two reasons. First, to create a connection with her audience. In a way that they see her as a peer,
rather than a superior power. Secondly, she uses it to help create a sense of serenity among
women who are too hesitant to start a profession. In sum, Woolf s use of understatements aids in
portraying her argument to her audience. By exploiting strong symbolism to the consciences of
her audience, Woolf informs her audience about The Angel in the House. This is a poem written in
the 19th century about how women were oppressed and how they sacrifice themselves to impress;
this in which is still going on today. The Angel in the House helps symbolizes the oppression and
the low standards set for women. For example, in paragraph 3 the Angel talks about how women
should only show certain traits, such as sympathy and

Building Faith Community From Day One
Building Faith Community From Day One
As an architect in a Catholic school, the principal bears the load of responsibility for setting the
tone for each school year and as an architect of Catholic culture, is to connect the school s core
values and beliefs to Christ and the Gospel intentionally, deliberately, and continually. (Cook, 2001,
p. 20) The principal, being the spiritual leader of the school, helps support the Catholic school s
mission and the xxxx of the Catholic identity of the school. They must lead through example and
build the faith community. The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops states that Within
such communities teachers and pupils experience together what it means to live a life of prayer,
personal responsibility and freedom reflective of Gospel Values. (United States Conference of
Catholic Bishops, 1973, p. 30) During the first week of school is when the mission of the school
and the Gospel Values or the core beliefs and values of Catholic schooling, should be reveled and
xxx to the faith community. My vision would be to reveal the Gospel values of Faith and Love
and the greatest link for those is prayer.
Prayer
The National Directory for Catechist states that faith must be know, celebrated, lived, and
expressed in prayer. (United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, 2005, p. 60) Prayer is a direct
path to growing closer with God and it is fundamental task of a catechist to teach others how to
pray. Prayer is a way to speak

Racial Beliefs And Its Effect On Society
As a young girl, I have always associated white people with the quality of being rude or racist. For
example, not holding doors as I walked behind them or ignoring my friendly smiles and
comments. I vividly remember several occasions where I would be walking two steps being a
Caucasian person and they would fail to hold the door open allowing it to slam in my face. There
is also an uneasy stare that is given while shopping, such as following African Americans around the
store to watch them make sure they are not stealing. The belief that white peopleare rude is not
limited to black people, but other minorities as well because their cultural beliefs and practices are
often disrespected.
The stereotype emerged from personal experiences throughout my daily life. My mother would
also agree that most individuals who are white are rude to minorities because of their sense of
entitlement. She would often have to console me because, at a young age, I would acknowledge the
difference in treatment I received. About other cultures, their cultural beliefs are often disregarded
and are not given the time to understand. When someone is not fluent in English, they are often
disregarded instead of taking the time is comprehend their statement. Blacks are typically
characterized as thieves or hoodlums, Muslims are terrorist, and Mexicans are all labor workers,
which are incorrect statements and over generalized.
As a result, thinking that most Caucasians are rude or racists prevents me

The Outsiders Book Vs Movie
ВЁ The Outsiders movie and novel are both very adventurous and extraordinary. They are very
similar in many different ways. However, they are also very different from each other. The movie

same organized time. Ponyboy, Sodapop and Darry s parents die first, then Bob, lastly Johnny and
Dally. When Johnny and Ponyboy killed Bob, the movie and novel both had the same solution.
When they killed Bob, they immediately went to Dally for help and the supplies they would need.

Essay on Diversifying Education for the Better America
Diversifying Education for the Better America
America has been known to be a melting pot of different people from all kinds of cultures,
ethnicities and backgrounds. No matter where you go, you are always surrounded by all walks
of life and from those people, we have learned a lot. They have helped to shape who we are as
Americans and what we stand for. Which is, that we strive and thrive on the cultural differences
that are all around us. When the canon fails to include their points of view into our educational
system, we suffer greatly. With out being exposed to other culturesand backgrounds, we are
depriving ourselves of a richer education, from learning about other cultures and backgrounds. It is

The English on the TV intrigued him. And it was then that he turned to writing (111). Here, Chin
is good example of our educational system failing immigrants. The teachers failed to teach him to
read and write good English, so he was forced to learn on his own. We shouldnt let our
educational system tell us who will and who wont be educated. What its saying is that those who
are and who have been exposed to the canon are better than those who have not been exposed to it,
which I think is very wrong. I am surprised at the number of immigrants who have climbed the
ladder of educational success in spite of what the canon has to say. It shows that they have the
desire and determination to learn, and if that means doing it the hard way, then so be it. Another
interesting point Rose makes about our educational system is that, the material in the canon can be
not only difficult, but foreign, alienating, and overwhelming (116). One person in particular can
relate to this. Frank Marell: he remembers the embarrassment of not understanding the teacher, of
not being able to read or write... [he] remembers other boys Carmen Santino, a new kid named
Hump, Bruno, Trucci who couldnt catch up on this new language and quit coming to school (112).
Here, it shows the lack of education that they received in their homelands, and because they werent

Poor People in the Bible.
1.From the book of Amos, state how the poor and needy were afflicted. (4)
In the book of Amos, the poor were treated as outcast and were discriminated against. The
government collected taxes from the poor such as rent thus fine buildings were built and pleasant
vine yards were established. Selling the righteous for money and the needy for a pair of sandals
tells us a lot about the social conditions of that time when the poor had to fight for their just rights,
which were all too frequently ignored.

Mother Teresa grew famous for humbly ministering to lepers, the homeless and the poorest of the
poor in the slums of Calcutta. In 1928 Agnes Gonxha Bojaxhiu joined the Sisters of Our Lady of
Lareto, a Catholic order that did charity work in India. She took the name Sister Teresa and for 17
years taught school in the country. In 1950 she founded the Missionaries of Charity, a new order
devoted to helping the sick and poor; the order grew to include branches in more than 100 cities
around the world, and Mother Teresa became a worldwide symbol of charity, meeting with
Princess Diana and many other public figures. In 1979 Mother Teresa was awarded the Nobel Prize
for Peace, and in 1985 she was awarded the Medal of Freedom from the United States.

Coffee rust disease is the greatest threat to the coffee...
Coffee rust disease is the greatest threat to the coffee industry worldwide and has the potential to
improve or hurt Brazil s economy while having a significant impact on the United States. Coffee
is second only to petroleum for exports in developing countries. Over 500 billion cups of coffee are
consumed globally each year. The worldwide coffeesupply comes primarily from Central and
South America accounting for 67 percent of production (Goldschein, 2011). Coffee rust disease is
a wind borne fungus that spreads quickly. Once infected, crop yields are significantly reduced
(Arneson, 2000). In their annual reports from recent years, Starbucks and Dunkin Donuts both list

As the coffee industry in Brazil grew so did the infrastructure of the country. By the 1900 s
coffee made up 70 percent of exports from Brazil. The increased productivity led to an excess in
the market that coupled with diminished demand caused a Brazilian depression and created
discontent with the current political system that led to dictatorship control (E, 2008) (The
Library of Congress, 2010). With the emergence of a more democratic political system and
deregulation other crops developed as important exports. This was further encouraged by the
government due to a need to have a more diversified economy (The Library of Congress, 2010).
Even with shifting production to other crops Brazil remains an important part of the world s coffee
supply as shown in figure 1.

The coffee grown in Vietnam is Robusta leaving Brazil and Columbia as the two largest sources

Arabica production. Arabica coffee plants are more susceptible to coffee rust disease (International
Coffee Organization). In 1869 an outbreak occurred in Ceylon, present day Sri Lanka. This
outbreak affected 90 percent of their crops and shifted their production to tea. Britain, a major

Essay about Domestic vs International Adoption
In today s society, the idea of adoption is an open and welcome one. However, the biggest
decision in adoption today is whether to adopt domestically or internationally. There is a very
large growing trend in international adoptions today. Compared to adoption rates in 1987, in 2004
international adoptions had risen over 200% as compared to an 8% rise in domestic adoptions.
After World War II, international adoptions began to rise because Americans began adopting
European and Japanese war orphans. However, this was not the only reason for international
adoptions. Desperate poverty and social upheaval such as the one child law in China, are factors
that have led others to adopt from Latin America and China. Also, after the Child... Show more

Next, a couple must realize that in both international and domestic adoptions, there is a risk of the
adoption not working out. In a domestic adoption, birth mothers can change their mind until they
sign the legal paperwork. Each state varies on their time frames a birth mother can sign her
paperwork, however most states allow the birth mother to sign 48 72 hours after the baby is
born. From that point on, in most states, the birth mother cannot change her mind. In
international adoptions countries can and do shut down all adoptions in their country. This
means any adoptions in the process are stopped. You could be interested in adopting a certain
child and it is not uncommon for the orphanage to promise this child to several agencies. The
orphanage s goal is to place the children as soon as possible. On the plus side though,
international adoptions are more lenient on who they let adopt. This can be a positive for many
couples wanting to adopt that are not allowed to adopt domestically. Specifically, homosexual
couples are welcomed in international adoptions, yet in some states are not legally allowed to
adopt. Also, there are age restrictions for parents over the age of forty that do not apply for
international adoption. One of the biggest factors couples consider, especially concerning
international adoptions is the idea of travel. In a domestic adoption only

The surprisingly low number of incidents recorded during rainy, snowy and icy weather may
reflect increased attention to roadway conditions and lowered expectations by the driver. However
congestion present on the road increases the number of these incidents. This anger that these ragers
bring to our roadways cause accidents in which many cases turn out to be fatalities. When someone
gets cut off while driving it shows the lack of responsibility they actually have. Stress is also
related to these drivers who take out their anger on others. Such aggression involves shouting
obscenities, and vulgar expressions that include the ever so popular
middle finger. They risk others lives as well as their own. The road rage motorist is obviously not
aware of the tickets and fines they will receive because of their catastrophic driving habit. Road
rage and aggressive driving may be similar to some, however the characteristics of the two are in
fact different. In our state of Florida police use a wide variety of non traditional vehicles and a
plain clothes officer s to record violations with a radar unit and to relay information to patrol
vehicles in the area (Rathbone 15). The result of a survey showed that the time of day which road
rage is at it s greatest is 25% during the 4:00 to 6:00 pm travel peak. Watch

Observational Study On Algorithms On The Social Networks
OBSERVATIONAL STUDY ON ALGORITHMS
On exploring Link prediction on the social networks, it lead to various studies in terms of its
nature and its peculiarities. As we all know that Social Network is dynamic in nature. New links
comes into picture and new relations are formed in later times. Based on the approach we assign
the weight to each link from the starting node and ending node. Score (A, B) between the node A
and B. The ranks between the pairs (A, B) and (X, Y) is the shortest path in G. One most used
measure is the common neighbors. The more and more number of surrounding neighbors similar
between A and B would determine that would be possible of forming link in future.

For X3: Ping Pong 0.3, basketball 0.2, football 0.3, Chess 0.2
Similarly do it for all the friends and get the aggregated results: we get the final vector as
Football 0.145, cricket 0.075, Chess 0.023, Ping Pong 0.059, Golf 0.083, Basketball 0.024

Iago s dialogue gives the reader a better understanding of him because it tells the reader that Iago carefully chooses his words to achieve his desires. By doing so, Iago displays the fact that he enjoys manipulating others through words, giving the reader some insight into what Iago s true motives are. Another character that the reader can gain a better understanding of through the motif of animals is Othello. Being a black, African man in a mostly white, European culture, Othello is already an outsider, explaining why he is frequently described as an animal. Although Othello is not affected by his differences at the beginning, they start to have more of an impact on him near the end of the play, with him even going to the extreme by describing himself ... Competitive Advantages Of Competitive Advantage Competitive advantage literally is the ability to sustain profits that exceed the average for the industry through developing distinctive competencies: distinctive, because the competitors don t have them and because they are fundamentally difficult to replicate (Berry, 2012). Competitive advantage through people is critical for a business to succeed. Without people, businesses would lack the ability to have the innovations to differentiate their products or services from their contenders in the same field of interest. People are critical from in developing and producing the product or service for the company to drive customer satisfaction. John C. Competition is the first one which consists of a business opponents and the market share to compete against for the best product and service with a lower cost. Next are the challenges. These challenges include economic handicaps that a business can face such as scarce resources. Naturally people fear change. With change, leadership needs to move people to leave a burning building and move in the right direction in which the company needs to. In this piece of evidence Rook is helping Alex go see what Little Bo Peep could be upto. He and Alex then go to her farm and look around. He helped her discover something she otherwise might not have been able to without the help of his idea. Rook and Alex did have a crush on each other and that could have been why he wanted to do this as something to impress her, but he helped her nonetheless. Without the help of Rook Alex could have never found this out. She pulled him behind a giant patch of tulips and threw her arms around his neck. She had held it together very well, but Rook was the only person she didn t feel like she had to be brave in front of. (Colfer 311). • 36. Emotional Appeal Of Virginia Woolf Throughout Virginia Woolf s speech to the Women s Service League, she does her best to inform the audience about how women should overcome oppression in the professional world as a necessary change in society. Woolf s intentions are to build an emotional appeal to put help put the audience in her place. Through understatement, symbolism, and diction, Woolf develops a well stated opinion in hopes to enlighten her audience to the issue. Woolf starts her speech off by portraying strong understatements. In paragraph 1, she starts off by saying, It s true. I am a women; it s true I m employed . She uses a level of sarcasm when presenting this part to show that although she is a women, she has excelled well enough to become employed in the professional world. After this, Woolf states that her literary career was cut many years ago and that it built her career by making her path smooth and regulating her steps. Although her literary career was a helpful, she tries to play it off as though it was easy for her; in reality she faced many challenges. Then she goes on to state, because paper is so cheap, women have been more successful as writers than anything else. This allows Woolf to imply the financial differences between men and women, without blatantly saying so. Woolf is making it seem as though this career is easy just because it s the professionshe was able to excel in. She uses understatements for two reasons. First, to create a connection with her audience. In a way that they see her as a peer, rather than a superior power. Secondly, she uses it to help create a sense of serenity among women who are too hesitant to start a profession. In sum, Woolf s use of understatements aids in portraying her argument to her audience. By exploiting strong symbolism to the consciences of her audience, Woolf informs her audience about The Angel in the House. This is a poem written in the 19th century about how women were oppressed and how they sacrifice themselves to impress; this in which is still going on today. The Angel in the House helps symbolizes the oppression and the low standards set for women. Compared to adoption rates in 1987, in 2004 international adoptions had risen over 200% as compared to an 8% rise in domestic adoptions. After World War II, international adoptions began to rise because Americans began adopting European and Japanese war orphans. However, this was not the only reason for international adoptions. Desperate poverty and social upheaval such as the one child law in China, are factors that have led others to adopt from Latin America and China. Also, after the Child... In a domestic adoption, birth mothers can change their mind until they sign the legal paperwork. Each state varies on their time frames a birth mother can sign her paperwork, however most states allow the birth mother to sign 48 72 hours after the baby is born. From that point on, in most states, the birth mother cannot change her mind. In international adoptions countries can and do shut down all adoptions in their country. The orphanage s goal is to place the children as soon as possible. On the plus side though, international adoptions are more lenient on who they let adopt. One of the biggest factors couples consider, especially concerning international adoptions is the idea of travel. In a domestic adoption only ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

However congestion present on the road increases the number of these incidents. This anger that these ragers bring to our roadways cause accidents in which many cases turn out to be fatalities. When someone gets cut off while driving it shows the lack of responsibility they actually have. Stress is also related to these drivers who take out their anger on others. Such aggression involves shouting obscenities, and vulgar expressions that include the ever so popular middle finger. They risk others lives as well as their own. The road rage motorist is obviously not aware of the tickets and fines they will receive because of their catastrophic driving habit. Road rage and aggressive driving may be similar to some, however the characteristics of the two are in fact different. • 52. Observational Study On Algorithms On The Social Networks OBSERVATIONAL STUDY ON ALGORITHMS On exploring Link prediction on the social networks, it lead to various studies in terms of its nature and its peculiarities. As we all know that Social Network is dynamic in nature. New links comes into picture and new relations are formed in later times. Based on the approach we assign the weight to each link from the starting node and ending node. Score (A, B) between the node A and B. The ranks between the pairs (A, B) and (X, Y) is the shortest path in G. One most used measure is the common neighbors. The more and more number of surrounding neighbors similar between A and B would determine that would be possible of forming link in future. Fuzzy k closest friend with a number depth. Here for ...
