Reflection About Symbolism
Have you ever thought about symbolism in your life? Symbolism is important in our lives
because if we recognize symbols and what they represent, it can help us to become a better
person by letting us know what we need in our lives and how it helps us. I spent some time
thinking about symbolism and here s what I came up with. The first five symbols I would like
to address represent the activities that I like to do often. My first symbol would be a shoe
because I m in cross country and I like to run because it teaches me perseverance and endurance.
I like this because whenever I overcome an obstacle like a longer race or a harder practice, it
makes me feel great about myself because of what I ve just done. Another symbol I feel
describes me well would be the internet icon because I feel using the internet to create things
allows you to do almost anything you want to. I ve been designing websites with increasing
amounts of skill since sixth grade, all of which have been visited by other online traffic. This
makes me feel good about myself because it shows that others are taking notice of my work!
The third symbol I chose would be a BMX ramp because when I m not able to ride mountain bikes,
I ride BMX. I ride BMX because it betters me as a mountain biker and lets me do things I wouldn t

A lot of airplane pilots get the title of being self centered or having a big ego because they are
misunderstood. Pilots are often thought to have big egos because they can operate a very
difficult powered flying vehicles and that they are above everyone else because they are
believed to be smarter than everyone else. Of course flying a plane is no easy task but just
because a certain man or woman is capable of flying these fixed winged vehicles does not mean
they think they are above the rest of ordinary people. Pilots are a group people would not think
twice about and are even unheard of when it comes to stereotypes. Pilots need to be better
understood because it is not fair to anyone to be assumed as something when you are not that....
Maybe rewind to the fifties and that would not be a stereotype but rather the truth. To be honest

education system tends to be overlooked for those with a disadvantage. Unfortunately, according

Many people believe that single gender schools have no positive effect on students, research
shows otherwise. In single gender schools there is less drama, it helps preserve culture, there are

My Life For Rebuilding 90 s Model Cars
My husband and I have a strong passion for rebuilding 90 s model cars such as civics,
hatchbacks, Acura s, Mitsubishi Eclipse s, Celica s, etc. We do two project cars a year, and
have done so for the past four years. We used to be able to find older vehicles that were still in
good condition, the upholstery was in good condition, and there wasn t much wrong mechanically.
About two years ago we started to notice the lack of maintenance and time people would actually
put into their cars. From experience, a car will not run if not properly taken care of and serviced in
the correct time frame.
Normally when my husband and I get a vehicle we always start under the hood. First, check the
oil. Without oil, people run the risk of seizing and locking up the engine and then it becomes a lot
more expensive than just a few quarts of oil. Most people I have noticed, don t know how often to
change their oil. When using regular blend oil, it should be changed around every 3,500 miles.
When purchasing synthetic oil, which is used in most vehicles today drivers should change it

Observation On A Restaurant
On October 15, 2017 at approximately 10 AM, I woke up to go to Freddie s Restaurant to start
my observations. It was a nice morning, about 50 degrees and sunny with a slight breeze. I hopped
into my Chevy truck to head to the restaurant. There were cars zipping around the town because
church had just gotten let out, and families were going to get food somewhere.
Through my personal experiences, I know that Freddie s is a popular place to go on a Sunday. The
owner s daughter, Stephanie Cannon, is my middle brother s girlfriend (also my broker), and she
worked at the restaurant on its busiest days. She explained to me that many families enjoy
gathering at Freddie s for a traditional breakfast after their church service is finished. She also
noted that Freddie s offers some of the best food for a great price. On certain Sundays, there is a
breakfast buffet that is extremely popular, and there s a wide variety of food offered at those
buffets. I also know the owners, Mark and Sue Cannon, very well because they are obviously
Stephanie s parents. Our families have been very close ever since I was a little kid, and we ve
eaten at Freddie s many times. During the summer when my brother and Steph are home, we eat
there occasionally. It s nice because we don t even have to pay.

Abstract In this paper an efficient hybrid optimization approach is used to solve the optimal power
flow problem. In the proposed approach particle swarm optimization along with ant colony
optimization is used for setting of control variables for optimal power flow problem. The proposed

functions involved are fuel cost minimization, voltage profile improvement and transmission loss

Composition: Analysis Chapter Nine, The Leech from the Scarlet Letter
The Scarlet Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne is one of the most iconic books in history; its storyline,
theme and literal characters have made an impact on the world of literature for hundreds of years.
What stands out the most in the book is the use of archaic diction and figurative language, which
serve to paint vivid, descriptive pictures of each character, specifically, Roger Chillingworth. In
chapter nine of The Scarlet Letter, The Leech , Nathaniel Hawthorne uses setting, allusion,
metaphor, irony, diction, and tone to reveal Roger Chillingworth, the town Leech s, evil, ominous
character displayed by his actions and words. Throughout chapter nine of The Scarlet Letter,
Hawthorne places Chillingworth in or near the cemetery by the widow s house, an ominous setting
that foreshadows his death. During the book as a whole, Chillingworth usually pops up in spooky
settings, such as Hester s jail cell, the woods, Dimmesdale s dark lit room, and the scaffold at night,
these all playing into the eerie nature of Chillingworth himself. Towards the beginning of this
chapter, it is suggested that Chillingworth had come to terms with the reality of his estranged wife,
Hester, having a child by another man, and was so distraught and embarrassed that he changed his
