College Essay For Will Grier
With Will Grier eligible to play in the opener against Virginia Tech and Jake Spavital at the helm of
the offense, the West Virginia University football team could explode for a high scoring and
exciting season.
Entering the 2017 season, the highly touted redshirt junior has high expectations placed upon him.
During his sophomore campaign at Florida, Grier started five of his six games, where he
completed 106 of 161 passes for 1,204 yards and 10 touchdowns. In those six games, he threw three
interceptions.
Against Tennessee, the 6 foot 2, 204 pound quarterback threw a season high 283 yards on 23 of 42
passing.
Coming out of high school, Grier was named the Parade National Player of the Year, Maxwell
Player of the Year and Tom Lemming... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
With the loss of Cody Saunders, the Mountaineers are limited at the quarterback position outside of
Grier and Chugunov.
Next in line is David Isreal, a transfer from Butler (Kan.) Community College. He is a dual threat
quarterback with an exceptionally strong arm and is extremely athletic.
The 6 foot 3, 175 pound sophomore was forced into the starter role with Butler last season. He
threw for 1,841 yards and 13 touchdowns.
However, Isreal was sacked 10 times and threw 12 picks. Coming out of high school, the
Blythewood, SC native was lightly recruited.
According to Rivals, he was a two star recruit. Isreal will have four years of eligibility with the
Mountaineers.
While redshirting him seems like the best option, Isreal may see the field sooner rather than later.
After Saunders career ending injury, WVU needed another quarterback and giving preferred walk
on Jack Bueltel a shot.
Bueltel is 6 foot, 176 pound quarterback out of Barron Collier High in Naples, Florida. He was a
three year starter at the 6A level.
One plus about Bueltel is his toughness. During a high school game in his senior season, he played
through a collapsed lung.
Despite being injured, Bueltel threw for more than 100 yards.
In three years for the Cougars, Bueltel threw for 2,465 yards and 18 touchdowns. He also rushed
for 648 yards and 13 touchdowns. As a junior, Bueltel passed for 1,259 yards and nine touchdowns.
Jack Allison transferred to WVU from Miami earlier this summer. The

The European Union ( Eu ) And North American Free Trade...
The European Union (EU) and North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) both consists of
twenty seven countries that makes it the largest trading bloc in the world. Based on the 2008
figure, the value of the exports of goods/services from European Union to NAFTA was 639. One
billion Canadian dollars while the import of goods/services to the European Unionfrom the NAFTA
was amounted to 513.9 billion Canadian dollars. Two trade blocs are also highly interdependent
by the means of FDI. In 2007, the value of inflows of FDI NAFTA from EU was about 1.77 trillion
Canadian dollars and 1.63 trillion Canadian dollars from NAFTA to EU respectively.

United States service exports) and $149.7 billion (35.4% of total United States service imports).
Mexico heavily relies on the European Union market as well; after the United States the EU is
the second most important trading partner to Mexico. EU and Mexico do have an established
free trade agreement that came into effect as of 2000. Although Mexico still imposes tariffs and
quotas on certain products such as meat and dairy, the EU and Mexico partnership is still one of
the most comprehensive in the world s economy. In 2014, the EU exported €27.4 billion worth
of goods to Mexico and €18 billion in imports. FDI from Mexico to EU amounted for €22.6

The primary objective of this paper is to investigate the effects of two policies that are related to
Trans Atlantic Free Trade Agreement (FTA). Firstly, we will explore the effects of bilateral FTA
between Canada and the EU on different Canadian sectors (policy 1). Secondly, to investigate the
economic effect if there is a free trade agreement between EU and NAFTA (Policy 2). There are
various techniques that could be utilized to carry out this analysis. In this paper we use Computable

Essay on Robert Johnson s He
This book helped me put some of the situations and feelings that I have experienced in my life
into perspective and with more meaning. I could relate to many of the subjects that this book
covered and could understand where the author s ideas originated. Not only can I see his ideas
appearing in my own actions, but I also see them in males in their mid forties to fifties. This
observation supports the idea of us going from innocence to doubt and back to innocence. The first
idea that stuck with me is the interpretation of the salmonand how it represented Christ.
Because my thoughts on religion and god are so unclear in my life, it led me to interpret the whole
situation differently and with different symbolism that is more adjacent ... Show more content on

Most of the characteristics that we take on, we later throw away, after discovering that they do not
work for us.
Many of the characteristics that we develop from this time remain with us for the rest of our
lives. We continue to do things like a family member does or did. Some of the complexes that
we develop when we are mere toddlers take us a lifetime to shed. It is during the whole stage of
adolescence when we begin to doubt. During this stage we begin to find out who we really are.
This process can only be achieved by sifting through the complexes we have developed,
questioning them, and changing what we don t like. We build on what fits who we are. Although
this process slows down, it still continues for the rest of our lives.Robert Johnson emphasizes that
every human being has got to break away from their parents at some point in time, especially their
mother complex that lives inside each and every one of us. It is the mother complex that effects us
the most and that requires the greatest struggle to recover from. When a child first tries to separate
themselves from their mother, it is all in vain. They are only trying to hide it from themselves and
the rest of the world.
When some aspect of ourselves is being ignored in hopes of it disappearing, that aspect will act up
like a child looking for attention. It is only when we can fully accept and understand what

Why D = Average Control Delay
where, d = average control delay (s/veh), cm,x = capacity of movement or shared lane (veh/h), T =
analysis period (h) and vx = demand flow rate for movement or shared lane (veh/h)
The HCM 2000 also defines a relationship for the queue length expected to be formed at the
intersection. The equation is similar to the delay equation.

This part of the paper will focus on comparing these developed models and recommend the more
suitable ones.
6.1 Signalized Intersection Models
Three queue delay models for signalized intersection were described in the previous section namely
the deterministic model, shock wave delay model and the steady state stochastic model. F. Dion et
al. (2004) presents a comparison of the different models for signalized intersections. The paper
followed a simple example of an intersection to develop the comparison.
A single lane approach with a 60 s cycle length and 30 s effective green time was used to compare
the models. The situation is further described in Figure 7. Figure 7: Delay Evaluation Scenario
(F. Dion et al., TRB, 2004)
The Integration Microscopic Traffic Simulation Software was used to predict delay and apply the
models. The output of the test is presented in Figure 8. Not only were the three models described in
this used in the comparison, capacity guide models of different countries are also presented. Figure
8: Delay estimates for different models for undersaturated and oversaturated conditions
(F. Dion et al., TRB, 2004)
For undersaturated conditions, it can be seen from Figure 8 that most analytical models agree with
each other at low v/c ratios. However, it is observed that agreement tends to decrease with
increasing v/c ratio. From the figure it can also be inferred that the deterministic and stochastic
models estimate the lowest delays for the

A Little Room For Creativity
Organization design refers to the process by which managers select and manage various dimensions
and components of organization structure so that it achieves their goals (Huczynski, 2010).
A little room for creativity is needed for the development of an organization.
For the success and progress of a management, an effective structural design is a must. Lack of
good design leads to less productivity. Whereas, a powerful and excellent organizational design can
help to achieve the organization s missions and goals rapidly. Also, a good design helps in
communication as well as innovation. But what is the best way to design an organization? Or is
there any best way to design an organization? To answer these questions, an understanding on the
different approaches/theories of organizational design is needed.
According to (Huczynski 2010), there are two main approaches to
Organizational design.
1. THE CLASSICAL APPROACH
2. THE CONTINGENCY APPROACH
Rhodes (2005), mentioned that (Weber, 1947), (Fayol, 1949) and (Taylor, 1947) were the
significant contributors of Classical approach. They all set a bunch of principles that would be
useful and helpful for the organizational works. Classical organizational theorists believed that
there is a best way to design and create an organizational structure. The best way to create an
organization according to Weber (1947) is Bureaucracy . The five main elements of Bureaucratic
model were A Staff , A division of labour , The hierarchy ,

Abraham Maslow And The American Psychological Association
Abraham Maslow (1908 1970), some time President of the American Psychological Association,
is best known for his work on human motivation and in particular for his Hierarchy of Needs,
which was first defined in a paper of 1943. Five basic needs are defined, all of which he
considered to be hard wired in the human species. They are arranged hierarchically, with self
actualization referring to people s desire for self fulfillment, namely, the tendency for them to
become actualized in what they are potentially. This tendency might be phrased as the desire to
become more and more what one idiosyncratically is, to become everything that one is capable of
becoming (Maslow, 1943, p.22). Maslow s 1943 paper mentions cognitive needs such as the
desire to know and to understand, and also aesthetics, but does not place them within the
hierarchy of five. In other words Maslow recognized, even at this early stage, that his list was
incomplete. In spite of this reservation it has been widely reproduced as a complete theory, on
the way acquiring its own pictorial representation in the form of a triangle or pyramid, which is
reproduced in countless publications. Because the five needs are latently or actively present in
all members of the human species, they are described as being biologically rooted . This is a key
theme throughout Maslow s work. He is dealing with the characteristics of a particular species,
some of which may be shared with other species, but nevertheless he avoids

Legalizing Steroids Is Dangerous
Legalizing steroids is dangerous because they are not controllable. Steroids are becoming
popular, but no one is stopping to take a look at all the facts about the use of them. Remy an avid
steroid user who regrets using steroids suggests, There is no controlled way to use steroids
(Campbell 3). Everyone s bodies react different to what steroids can do. Some more dangerous than
others. Controlling steroiduse is impossible because everyone uses different amounts and even a
little can be dangerous. Harrison Pope a professor of psychiatry at Harvard s McLean Hospital
says, The preliminary data on steroids suggest that long term use damages the muscle of the heart,
significantly increasing the risk of an attack (Butterworth 2). A continued use of steroids would do
damage not only on the heart but the whole body as well. Heart damage is very likely while using
steroids. Views of the opposition suggest that they are not worried about the un controlling factors.
Tim Cowlishaw a sports writer for the Pittsburgh Post Gazettestates, I think if we made everything
legal, we would learn eventually which drugs and creams, and heaven forbid, antler sprays actually
have benefits and what their risks are (Cowlishaw 1). If society made steroids legal, controlling
amounts would not be imaginable. Anyone could get their hands on it, which could lead to over
use and endangerment of human health.
Legalizing steroids represents cheating in all sports across the nation. There will always

Does Reflexology Help You Drop Off At Night
If you have issues dropping off at night, you could be ready to try anything. Most likely though,
you would prefer to use an alternative cure, instead of trying over the counter or prescription
sleeping aids. By utilizing an alternative method to going to sleep, you won t have to worry
about any complications, or getting dependent on a sleeping pill. They might not be considered
mainstream ideas, but if they work for you, then it s worth it! These are some great homeopathic
things you can try to help you drop off to sleep at night. Try using reflexology. When it comes to
reflexology, each part of your body is reflected on your hands and your feet. By massaging these
places, or having someone else do it for you, it can often help you prepare for sleep, and help you
get beat. It will also de stress, so that s another good reason to try it. Due to both these, it will help

Lavender will help you relax, which may in turn help you go to sleep less complicated and
faster. There are plenty of different ways that you can use lavender. You can buy a lotion and
massage it into your skin before heading off to bed. Another way is to buy lavender oil, and
either put some in a bath or on your pillow. You may also try lavender tea, which should also
promote relaxation and go to sleep earlier. Make sure you get sufficient magnesium in your diet.
Magnesium is a natural sedative, and will help you to get exhausted and wish to fall asleep. If you
don t eat enough foods during the day with magnesium in them, you will not be knackered at night.
You can try eating foods such as almonds, cashews, whole grains, legumes, or dark leafy plants to
get more magnesium into your diet. Try meditation. When you meditate, you receive multiple
benefits. One is that you become more relaxed. Another is that people who meditate have more
melatonin in their bodies. Melatonin helps promote a calm, relaxing, deep sleep, so meditation
could help you in one or two different

Richard Brinsley Sheridan s Play School For Scandal

School for Scandal
Richard Brinsley Sheridan s play School for Scandal was an interesting play. The play was very
easy to follow and read, and the characters, though mostly stock, were likeable for me. I found a
copy of the show on IUcat, and that performance really stuck out to me because it modernized
the characters from their original rendering. I liked reading this play, but actually seeing it
performed helped me understand some of the intent behind the characters and to really see their
personalities take form on the stage. In the version I watched the gossipers in Act 1 Scene 1
would strike a pose and hold it when another gossiper walked into the room (The School). This
added a lot of humor to the play, and gave a nice visual effect as well. The school for Scandalis a
very relatable play, because scandals and rumors are still very much a part of our society today.
School for Scandal reflects the 18th century through its use of expansion within the play. What I
mean by this is that Sir Oliver is said to be in the East (Sheridan 1.2). Sir Peter states that Sir
Oliver s Eastern Bounty gave them [Joseph and Charles] an early independence, (Sheridan 1.2).
The Eastern Bounty more than likely refers to Sir Oliver trading in India. This time period was a
time for expansion ad trade. England and France were the two dominant powers and they expanded
their empires into North America, India, and Africa (Wilson 257). In history classes

harm associated with illicit opioid consumption. Generally these are sites where drug users can
inject or consume drugs under the observation of trained personal. The first of such consumption
sites in Canada Insite was established in Vancouver in 2003. So far there has not been a single
reported case of overdose fatality at the site. The success of Insite as a harm reduction approach
has encouraged jurisdictions across Canada to adopt or contemplate similar systems. In 2017, the
federal government passed Bill C 37 with the aim of streamlining the application process for
communities who wish to operate supervised consumption sites. In Alberta, there are five
proposed supervised injection sites, four in Edmonton and another in Calgary. Out patient

Dulce Et Decorum Est
Poetry composers evoke ideas of truth to help individuals and readers understand their ideas that
have been portrayed through their work. Wilfred Owen was a war poet who served in world war
one. In Owens poems of Dulce Et Decourm Est and Anthem for Doomed youth . Both poems
explore the ideas of meaningless sacrifice and suffering as wells as the horrors of war. Owen used
many poetic techniques to help him convey his ideas of war.
Young lives are wasted in war which only increases the cruelty and meaningless of it. Wilfred
Owen s poem, Dulce et Decorum est follows the death of a young soldier. In the line If you could
hear at every jolt the blood froth from his corroded lungs. The strong use of visual and sensory
imagery depicts what the soldier s final moments of how his life ended, the soldier died a painful

Owen successfully evokes the ideas of truth in the poem Dulce et Decorum est the line You would
not believe with such high zest, to children ardent for some desperate glory, the old lie through the
use of metaphors and personification Owen demonstrates that the reality of the individual s
experience in war meant that they ended up challenging their sense of duty, their blind patriotism
and understood that the true meaning of war is futile. The unimaginable suffering they lived
through further highlights this reality. Also in the poem Anthem for doomed youth Owen
explores the truth of war in the quote Shall shine the holy glimmers of goodbyes. Owen uses the
technique of symbolism to link the glimmers of goodbyes to a funeral. Many soldiers did not
receive proper funeral rights and were just buried in mass graves. Owen also shows the truth of
war through the mortality of war in his oxymoronic approach of the colossal loss of life.
Essentially Owen explores the truth of war through the themes of psychological scars and the
horrors of

Amelia Earhart Achievements
Amelia Earhart is known for her disappearance in the sky. She embarked on many flights across
the world that made her famous. As one of the first female pilots, she set a precedent for future
females in aviation everywhere. Even after her death, many women aspire to become pilots. There
was a lot of moving, odd jobs, and short flights that eventually helped Earhart achieve her dreams.
Her hard work and determination contributed to her greatest accomplishment being the first female
to fly across the world.

The Conceptages And Advantages Of The Dynamic HTML
DHTML stands for Dynamic HTML. DHTML is introduced by Microsoft internet explorer 4.0 in
1990. DHTML is not a language or a web standard. DHTML is a combination of JavaScript, CSS,

participants are given name tags where they are asked to write personality types and after doing
that are asked to put them on the back of their colleagues where they will be able to see every

understanding as well as innovation and trust among the employees. The manager had clear goals

effectiveness of such training is closely linked to the goals, outcomes and implementation.
There instances where the manager fails to effectively communicate to the employees. Blunt is an

Chinese background is collective where a person is seen as having no rights except those which
society allows them to enjoy (Biddle, 2012). The manager is ineffective in communicating to this
section of the work force as they have trouble reconciling their traditional roles and their new found
duties. Communication is a very critical

A Look Into The Window Of The West
A Look into the Window of the West
Before the reign of Czar Peter the Great (1682 1725), Russia, had hardly ever been regarded as a
part of Europe. Peter s supremacy consequently manifested itself to catalyze an era of successful
Westernization for St. Petersburg and Russia as a whole. His main goal being to civilize the
country was accomplished through extensive changes in both political agendas, as well as
cultural ones. Even after Peter passed away in 1925, the city continued to westernize, attracting
travelers from all over the European community. One of these travelers was Sir Francis
Dashwood. Dashwood was an English politician and Chancellor of the Exchequer, a British
Cabinet level position that appointed him as head of Her Majesty s Treasury. Travelling to St.
Petersburg on his Grand Tour in 1733, Dashwood was fascinated by daily life in Russiaand decided
to write a diary to document this fascination. In his diary, he examined refinements to Russo
culture, architecture and government through a series of detailed excerpts outlining what he
observed on a daily basis in St. Petersburg. Dashwood s diary is exceptionally unique in that there
had never before been an account of St. Petersburg during the 1930 s (in English) of St. Petersburg
on paper. This meant that when the diary would eventually be published in 1959, it would open a
myriad of information to the public, specifically the aristocrats of Western Europe, about St.
Petersburg and Russia s Westernization

This may not sound like much to you, but the calorie requirement for an average 10 pound indoor
cat is around around 200 calories per day. Wet food, on the other hand, typically has fewer calories,
but is also quite high in protein.
Cats are impossibly finicky this is probably not news to you. However, you may or may not have
noticed that a lot of cats will go on something akin to a hunger strike if they don t like their food.
That being said, it is very important to ensure that your cat is getting in some food, even if it s
smaller servings of their regular meals. This is due largely to the fact that the [rapid weight loss]
that would come about due to starvation can cause many potentially fatal issues, such as fatty liver
syndrome, hypoglycemia, and inflammatory issues in their lungs and joints.
If you re finding that the diet food just isn t cutting it, and your cat simply isn t satisfied with
smaller portions, there are some tricks to combat complaints. For example, adding a bit of [warm
water] to raw or wet food increases volume without increasing volume. Furthermore, it aids in
hydration, which is never a bad

Katie Otto Research Paper
Katie Otto from American Housewife

When you think of great moms throughout television past they exhibit the same list of endearing
qualities. They are smart, strong and very loving. Moms in television presently also have those
qualities but they have evolved. Real moms today are typically balancing a full time career, a family
and a social life. Katie Otto, from the show American Housewife, possess numerous qualities
millennial mothers can relate to by simply being her imperfect self in a community of perfect
cookie cutter moms. As you can tell from the title of the show, Katie is a housewife and stay at
home mom. She and her husband Greg have three children, Taylor, Oliver and Anna Kat. Greg is a
college professor in the stuffy town of Westport where they rent a modest home and drive a mini
van. The Westport community is a rich one; mansions and luxury cars surround the Otto s.
Needless to say they do not exactly fit in. That might bother some moms but not Katie, she doesn t
try to be someone she is not.

telling her. (Season 2, Episode 2 Boar Dain ) Katie tried to make him return the barbeque but

Ethical laws, Privacy and security laws, copyright laws, Digital laws, and taxation laws. Ethical

These laws pertain to safeguarding the customer s information and security of their personal

The Summer Ma Program For Theatre Educators
Before I had applied for the Summer MA program for theatre educators, I knew my teaching of
dramaturgy was lacking. I had no systematic way of analyzing a script and being able to pull out
the important aspects of the author s intentions. Many aspects of theatre history and dramatic
interpretation had been left out of my education. After classes my appetite had been wetted, I
purchased a number of books to continue my education over the winter break, one of the books
was History of the Theatre10th Edition by Oscar G. Brockett and Franklin J. Hildy. Even though
an overview of some much history it has lead me to want to teach so much deeper lessons to my
students. After the eye opening dramaturgy classes my mind has been washed with ideas on
how to proceed, so much information had been given to us, I find it hard to concentrate on a
single area. I truly look forward to teaching this year and these lessons. My first desire is to come

The Threat Of Nuclear Weapons
Introduction
During a presidential debate Hillary Clinton made the claim that, the number one threat we face in
this world [is nuclear weapons] and [that] becomes particularly threatening if terrorists ever get their
hands on any nuclear material. (Find Reference) Hillary Clinton stressed that terrorist gaining
nuclear materials was the clear threat and whilst there were mentions of Iran and the general
proliferation of nuclear weapons, her main concern was nuclear weapons being utilised by terrorists.
The discussion around terrorists obtaining nuclear weapons consists of a dichotomy. There are

(MAD p.4) MAD is a defence strategy that operates on the premise that neither the US nor its
enemies will never launch a nuclear attack, as the country being attacked would react massively
and unacceptably. (MAD p.4) Robert Spalding says nuclear weapons are instruments of peace ,
that ensures a country such as the US is domestically secure. (Peace web article Huffington Post)
Although it does not ensure complete peace as seen in the proxy wars conducted during the cold war
it does protect the US, as direct conflict between the two nuclear powers always deescalated back
to dialogue. Therefore the US should not feel threatened by nuclear weapons from other states.
MAD mitigates the threat of nuclear attacks between states. Ideas associated with democratic peace
theory, and international law also demonstrate why nuclear weapons possessed by other states are
not a threat to the US. The international court of justice reviewed the threat and use of nuclear
weapons in legal terms. The court found that the threat or use of nuclear weapons would generally
be contrary to the rules of international law applicable in armed conflict, and in particular the
principles and rules of humanitarian law . (International Law p.3) When coupled with democratic

More than likely, these patients will receive a prescription for antibiotics, but should they? Most
acute respiratory tract infections (ARTIs), do not require an antibiotic, the symptoms will resolve
themselves over time without antibiotic treatment. Healthcare experts and scientists have warned

individuals believe they are not being observed the results tend to be more trustworthy. Ultimately,
the project proved its hypothesis and educated individuals about the risks of overusing antibiotics.

Wretched Catullus, Leave Off Playing The Fool
Introduction Over the history of the world there have been many great poets. One of the greatest
poets of the roman empire is Catullus. Catullus poetry is filled with strong emotion of being love
torn. Even though Catullus emotion filled poetry was written over 2000 years ago, it can still
convey the painful emotion of being lovetorn today.
Theme
Catullus poetry is based on his rocky affair with a women named Clodia. Clodia was married to a
high ranking Roman politician. In the poem Wretched Catullus, Leave off Playing the Fool, the
pain of being love torn in can be felt.
How much you loved her! More than any man
Can ever love. With her, what joy began!
That sunny world seemed yours in every way.
Yet now she does not want you, and alas,
You must not chase her nor live wretchedly,
Thus make your heart as hard as it can be.
So good bye, baby! Catullus now will pass... (6 12) ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

is how he still holding out hope that Clodia will marry him. This is shown in the poem Lesbia
Says She ld Rather Marry me. Lesbia says she ld rather marry me / than anyone, (1 2). The pain of
being love torn but still holding out hope can be easily seen in Catullus

A Brief Note On Lateral Thinking And Its Effects On A Self...
De Bono (1990) defines, Lateral thinking is a set of attitudes, idioms, and techniques for cutting
across patterns in a self organizing asymmetric patterning system . He adds that it is helpful in
generating new concepts and perceptions. He also claims that Lateral thinking is also concerned
with the breaking out of the concept prisons of old ideas and related to insight, creativity, and
humour. It is also one of the most sought after approaches by most of the English language
facilitators owing to its wide range of general applications. Language itself is the most obvious
code system with the words themselves as triggers.
Gadd (1998) points out the use of material from De Bono (1970, 1982) are quite common in
humanistic language teaching classes. Adair (1988) believes that the intellectual skills such as
analyzing, synthesizing, and valuing are required for clear speaking. Similarly, a public speaking
tutorial on the internet categorically states that speaking is thinking . Ellin Kofsky Schalnick and
William S.Hall (1991) say that language is simply a verbal description of thought. This idea reflects
that thought is primary and language just acts as a tool to express or to convey the ideas or
concepts in an effective manner. Spada and Lightbown (1993) hold that thinking skills operate
effectively when students originally voice their analysis and take part in the learning process
occurring in the classroom. Pica (1994) argue that learners in the classroom should

The Four Types Of Authority In The Hunger Games
The Hunger Games is a fictional story set in totalitarian nation Panem. It follows Katniss
Everdeen as she takes the place of her younger sister in the Hunger Games Tournaments. The
tournament consists of 24 contestants who are forced into a cosmic arena to fight until only one
survives. The Hunger Games exhibits four authority types; charismatic, legal rational. Traditional
authority is legitimate power based on customs and beliefs passed down from generation to
generation. The church, family, grandparents, parents, the Pope and the monarchy are examples
of people that might have the most impact in conveying what is right or wrong in a persons life.
Most individuals tend to follow their primary agents or leaders when it comes to what type of
practices they put the most faith in rather the leaders personal appeal. Haymitch Abernathy played

infection during pregnancy could cause autism. As well as certain complications at birth and
oxygen deprivation to the baby s brain could cause autism. Many things can cause autism but as
scientists still continue to research it, things are simply just being ruled out. Scientist are still hard
at work to really define what causes autism. Sense vaccinations have been ruled out to cause autism,

First Ebola Outbreak
The first Ebola outbreak was in 1967. Recently there has been another one in the northwestern
coast of Africa. Many people misunderstood what Ebola is. Ebola, known as Ebola Hemorrhagic
Fever is a rare and deadly disease. That is caused by infection with one of the Ebola species.
Ebola was first discovered in 1976 at the Ebola River which is currently the Democratic Republic of
the Congo. Since then, not many outbreaks have occurred. That is until 2014 many more outbreaks
have taken place in Africa. People get Ebola through direct contact with bodily fluids (skin, eyes,
nose, or mouth). It is not airborne and can be transferred by infected fruit bats and bodily fluids.
To this day there s no cure, but treatments are being developed and researched. Ebola s symptoms
are very deadly. The first 9 days consist of a headache, fatigue, fever, and muscle soreness. When
it is the 10th day people may experience a sudden high fever, vomiting blood, and a behavior
change. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When the first person in the US got Ebola many people went crazy. Many reporters and
companies spread the new fast which caused many people to panic. This lead to many people
thinking that Ebola was going to go all over the US, which is not true. What the news didn t
describe was that there were only 11 confirmed cases in the US. Only 2 were contracted in the
US. 99.9% of cases for Ebola were in Africa. My mom is a nurse, and I remember her talking
about it. She also had to have extra training on how to care for and ebola patients. About 2 weeks
later the new of Ebola was everywhere. The news would not stop talking about it. Another 2
weeks pass by and it only gets worse. The thing that made me mad was how much the news
stretched the truth. Although there haven t been any more cases in Africa there is still a risk. The
news made it sound like Ebola was going to be the death of us. When at the time we knew it
wouldn t. The death rate was at 50% for anyone

Thermoregulation Lab
In this lab, we became familiar with the importance of thermoregulation and the effects of
temperature on enzyme functions. In this exercise, we prepared five solutions. Four of the five
solutions were mixed with amylase (saliva), HCl, starch, and iodine and potassium iodine. The
solutions were placed in different temperatures and we used a spectrophotometer to determine the
each absorbance readings. A low absorbance indicates a low presence of starchand high enzymatic
function. A high absorbance indicates a high presence of starch and low enzymatic function. Also,
in this lab we explored the thermoregulation strategies and determined the effectiveness of each
strategy. In this exercise, we recorded the temperature of the back of our hand before and after
placing it into an ice bath. Before... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Based on Table 1 and Figure 1, the different range of temperatures tested had an effect on the
enzymatic reactions. It appears that the lower temperatures such as 0В°C and 25В°C displayed a
high absorbance. These results indicate that there was a high presence of starch and low enzymatic
function. In comparison, the higher temperatures such as 37В°C and 95В°C displayed a low
absorbance. These results indicated that there was a low presence of starch and high enzymatic
function.
2.The optimum temperature for the enzymatic reaction is 37В°C. This temperature is the average
body temperature for humans. This temperature is not too cold or too hot for enzymes to function.
3.In mammals, and increase in body temperature such as running a fever could cause enzymes to
denature due to the high temperature. Also, a decrease in body temperature such as hypothermia
could cause enzymes to slow down beyond normal cellular reactions or to not occur at all due to the
low temperatures.
4.Using previous knowledge from biology classes, HCl was added to each test tube to help break
down the starch along with the amylase. HCl is usually found in the stomach and is used to break
down

Part 2 Of Advanced Counselling Skills Essay
Advanced Counselling Skills
For this part of the assignment I am using examples from a 50 minute session recorded within the
learning environment. I play the role of the counsellor, and another student plays the role of the
client. In order for me to answer the learning outcomes, I have watched the DVD recording.
2.1 Open the session, explaining the working agreement including the following:
What is on offer?
Limitations
Time boundaries
Ethical boundaries in line with professional code
What is on offer?
At the beginning of the session I introduced myself by first name to the client before outlining the
counselling contract with her. I felt it was important for the client to know ... Show more content on

During the session I communicated to the client by saying things such as mmm and yes I hear
you . Minimal encourager s were used to demonstrate that I was listening to the client, without
disturbing her flow too much. I nodded my head on a couple of occasions which again showed the
client that she still had my attention. There was a brief moment of silence which I managed by
acknowledging that the silence provided a space for the client to think about what she had just
said. At this point my attention was on the client and I felt I gave her respect by not interrupting
her thinking time as I waited for her to begin talking again.
Empathic listening.
To demonstrate my empathy for the client I verbalised that I sense that this is difficult for you .
and felt her distress as she became emotional telling her story. Carl Rogers ( 1980 ) felt very
passionately about empathic listening. He states: Empathic listening means entering the private
perceptual world of the other. It involves being sensitive moment by moment to the changing felt
meanings which flow in the other person and temporarily living the others life without making
judgements . ( Rogers, 1980. p.142 ). In being empathic towards the client during the session I also
was able to reassure her, particularly when during the session she questioned her own capabilities.

Women Are Not Objects For Women
Women are NOT Objects For as long as many can remember, women have had a difficult time
dealing with things that men have been able to do with ease. For example, throughout history, it
has always been said that men were the only ones allowed to vote for their future president,
whereas women were not. Another example was back in the 60 s when women were advertised
with sexist jobs such as being house wives while men were to be treated courteously (Sex Appeals
in Advertising). With that said, when women were getting noticed a lot more, many men found it
difficult to accept that since men basically ruled over women. However, currently, the laws and
regulations that women have are completely different than how they were before but women are
still fighting a common trend that occurs throughout the entire world. Women are seen as sexual
objects to men when they desire pleasure which allows for men to control the situation. Therefore,
should women be objectified as sexual objects and caregivers whereas males not so much? I will be
answering that throughout this essay.
With that said, I will be arguing two things; the first being that women are not intended to be a
sexual object to bring a certain pleasure to men, and secondly the Catholic Church should not have
to justify that a woman s purpose in life is only to procreate a future life. With that said, I will be
focusing on two main authors. The first author goes by the name of Miguel De La Torre and his
book is called Doing

is that cranes book is written in first person and the passage given is written in third. Cranes

This is what I think in my head as I awaken to planes attacking Pearl Harbor. I don t have time to
think anymore, if I die today I know I died serving my country. I immediately grab my gun and find
a barrier to hide behind. My fellow soldiers are being shot and killed as I watch them lay there
stone cold dead with my own two eyes. For a moment my entire body feels frozen until a bomb
drops on a vessel close by me. I know that now this is do or die.as bombs are dropping in every
sight planes are crashing down causing explosions. The fire is all that is in sight and for a
second I lose contact with myself and think about my family. The fire reminds me of them and
the love I have for them. I can only hope to return home to them. I say a prayer and make a run for
it next to a wounded soldier while trying to avoid shot coming at me in all directions. I aim at a
plane along with a few soldiers and give it all I got. The plane comes crashing down on a battleship
and explodes knocking us to the ground. This is my worse fear. I knew this day was soon to come.
Soldiers are lying dead everywhere you look. Every part of this place is taken over by fire and
smoke. Soon I feel something tare through my shoulder. I had been shot. I had not time to even
flinch or see it coming. I look down at my hand and it s covered in my blood. I wrap my shoulder

A Summary Of Concrete Angel
The effects from the different forms of abuse in the home can affect a person s development and
self growth. Martina McBride wrote a powerful song called Concrete Angel. This song is about
her adolescent niece whom grew up with an abusive and alcoholic mother. This story is a powerful
message about the effects abuse can have on a young child. Abuse can cause long term mental and
physical damage. This may include learning capability, physical appearance, and personality
identification. Children are subjected mostly to abuse in the home even if the abuse is not directed
toward the child. The three most common types of abuse in the home are physical, sexual, and
emotional abuse. Physical abuse is causing physical harm to one person. This includes... Show more

Statistics show that 72% of all murder suicide cases are incidents of domestic abuse, and in 97%
of murder suicide cases the victims of the murder were women. Martina Mcbride s song Concrete
Angel, tells the story of her abused niece and how she was beaten to death from her mothers
drunken rage. Childhood abuse does not end in childhood. It is a long term effect on how the child
will pursue new relationships and how they will react to specific situations. In personal opinion
parents/guardians should pay attention to certain acts of behaviour in front of their children.
Although no one is perfect, it is important that parents put their children into consideration when
acting upon certain situations. Children are the future of America and every child deserves to
have all the tools necessary to succeed in life. In some cases, the physical effects are temporary;
however, the pain and suffering can cause long term effects such as anxiety and depression as
their brain matures. All forms of abuse take effect on a child s outlook on life and are equally
damaging. Children have the ability to become an extraordinary individual who can one day
change the world. Childhood should be filled with joyful memories and encouragement to chase
your dreams. Lead by example and give the children of today a fighting chance to become

Persian Gulf War
Good morning ladies and gentlemen. Im (names) and this is our ignite talk on the Persian Gulf War.
The Persian Gulf War was between the United States and Iraq. It started August 2, 1990 and didn
t end until February 28, 1991. Iraq was ordered by their leader Saddam Hussein to invade Kuwait
because they had to pay for 8 year war between them and Iran and they wanted to gain access to the
oil market. Which the only way to do this was accessing the Persian Gulf and Kuwait was the
easiest country to invade for them to do this. This brought immediate economic sanctions against
Iraq by members of the U.N. Security Council this was because Iraq violated U.N. sanctions. The
U.S. President George H. W. Bush deployed U.S. forces into Saudi Arabia,... Show more content on

This earned the war the nickname the Video Game War after the daily broadcast of images from
cameras on board U.S. bombers during Operation Desert Storm.
There were two very important operations that took place during the Persian Gulf War. The first one
was called Operation Desert Shield . This was a U.S operational name for the buildup of U.S
forces in Saudi Arabia. To surround and contain Iraq s armed forces. This operation took place
from 2 August 1990, to 16 January 1991. The second operation was called Operation Desert
Storm . The U.S. name of the airland conflict from 17 January 1991, through 11 April 1991. This
was the attack on Iraq s armed forces. So basically the first operation was the setup and the second
operation was the attack.
The initial conflict to expel Iraqi troops from Kuwait began with an aerial and naval
bombardment on 17 January 1991, continuing for five weeks. This was followed by a ground
assault on 24 February. This was a decisive victory for the Coalition forces, who liberated Kuwait
and advanced into Iraqi territory. The Coalition ceased its advance, and declared a ceasefire 100
hours after the ground campaign started. Aerial and ground combat was confined to Iraq, Kuwait,
and areas on Saudi Arabia s border. Iraq launched Scud missiles against Coalition military targets in
Saudi Arabia and against

The Charge Of The Light Brigade Literary Devices
The Battle of Balaclava of the Crimean War took place on October 25, 1854 (Greenspan). Not even
two months later, Lord Alfred Tennyson published his poem The Charge of the Light Brigade
(History.com). Although the Poetry for Students author believes that the soldiers loyalty was the
most notable feature, the more important aspect was the soldiers bravery (Poetryfor Students). In
The Charge of the Light Brigade, Tennyson accentuates the bravery that the soldiers exhibited in
their battle through the use of literary devices such as repetition, sensory details, and epistrophe.
Poets often utilize different techniques in order to improve their writing or to make an argument. In
this case, Tennyson used repetition to emphasize the point ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

At the end of every paragraph, rode the six hundred, or something similar to it, was repeated. If
the reader ignores every other phrase and only reads the last line of each stanza, he is still able
to get a sense of how the battle progresses. When the Light Brigade begins to lose the battle, the
phrase shifts to not the six hundred, and then to left of six hundred (Tennyson). It is easy to see
from these phrases that the circumstances have changed for the soldiers. It seems like the soldiers
have no hope and will be forgotten. The last line of the poem, however, changes everything. Noble
six hundred! ; the soldiers will not be forgotten or ridiculed, rather they will be remembered and
praised for their bravery, no matter the outcome of the battle. Without this phrase being placed at
the end of every paragraph, the reader wouldn t understand that the soldiers extensive bravery was
enough for them to be remembered, even though they were unsuccessful in battle.
The Charge of the Light Brigade is full of emotion and excitement. Neither of those sensations
would have been possible without the use of literary devices. Tennyson used repetition, sensory
details, and epistrophe in order to add to the emotional effect, but more importantly to aid him in
proving the soldiers bravery. Without these literary devices, the poem

Using The Heat Energy Equation
INTRODUCTION (Pre lab)
What will be the amount of energy contained in specific snack foods? This question will be
solved by using the heat energy equation, Q=mCО”T. Q or q will represent the heat in joules, this
will be found algebraically by filling in the rest of the heat energy equation. m will represent the
mass in grams, this will be found by finding the mass of the water. C will represent specific heat in
Joules/grams В°Celsius, the specific heat of water will always be 4.184 J/gВ°C. О”T will represent
the change in temperature, this will be found by subtracting the final temperature of the water by the
original temperature of the water. Capital Q means that heat will be added endothermic. Lowercase
q means that heat will be lost exothermic. The law conservation of energy says that energy will not
be created nor destroyed, but will be converted from one form to another. The percent error
equation will be (accepted experimental) Г· (accepted), accepted is the Cal/g on the snack food
s package, and the experimental is the Cal/g that is calculated during the experiment. The
independent variable will be the Marshmallow, CHEEZ IT, Cheetos, and Chex mix. The
dependent variable will be the energy in either Joules/grams or Calories/gram because the amount
of energy depends on the snack food. The controlled variable will be the amount of water in the
calorimeter because the water will be the same amount in every trial. A bar graph will be needed to
determine which snack food

Edward Theodore Gein
Edward Theodore Gein (1906 1984), known as The Butcher of Plainfield, was an American serial
killer guilty of the murder of at least two women between 1947 and 1957.
Ed Gein was such a controversial and disturbing figure that his story inspired a lot of plots for
thriller movies and books, such as the character of Norman Bates in Psycho by Alfred Hitchcock
and Buffalo Bill in The Silence of the Lambs, a novel by Thomas Harris.
The life of Ed Gein was significantly marked by several factors: he spent his childhood with
George, an alcoholic and absent father, and Augusta, an overprotective and extremely religious
mother, obsessed by the idea that the world was populated by impure and sinful people. Ed had to
face his father s and brother s death, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The definition of attachment involves an affectional bond that infants need to form with a
differentiated and preferred individual that becomes an attachment figure, consisting in a sustained
nurturing relationship with the sensitive caregiver (Bowlbly, 1979). Attachment is conceptualized
as an evolutionary feature: individuals can create a secure base around which one is able to
explore and gain independence as well as a safe haven to which individuals can return and be
reassured in a situation of distress or danger (Ainsworth et al., 1978; Bowlby, 1969).
On the contrary, unresponsive or atypical ways of parenting can lead to aberrant behaviours or, if
others risk factors are present, to psychopathology (Jacobsen, Edelstein, Hoffman, 1994; Schaffer,
1996). Secure attachment with the primary caregiver is necessary for social and emotional
regulation as well as cognitive and resilience abilities(Bowlby, 1982; Ainsworth Bell,1970); insecure
attachment affects individuals life in many aspects, especially the ability to face distress (Macbeth
et al., 2011), and not too rarely the aftermaths of an insane attachment can culminate in personality
disorders (Crawford et al.,

  • 2. College Essay For Will Grier With Will Grier eligible to play in the opener against Virginia Tech and Jake Spavital at the helm of the offense, the West Virginia University football team could explode for a high scoring and exciting season. Entering the 2017 season, the highly touted redshirt junior has high expectations placed upon him. During his sophomore campaign at Florida, Grier started five of his six games, where he completed 106 of 161 passes for 1,204 yards and 10 touchdowns. In those six games, he threw three interceptions. Against Tennessee, the 6 foot 2, 204 pound quarterback threw a season high 283 yards on 23 of 42 passing. With the loss of Cody Saunders, the Mountaineers are limited at the quarterback position outside of Grier and Chugunov. Next in line is David Isreal, a transfer from Butler (Kan.) Community College. He is a dual threat quarterback with an exceptionally strong arm and is extremely athletic. The 6 foot 3, 175 pound sophomore was forced into the starter role with Butler last season. He threw for 1,841 yards and 13 touchdowns. However, Isreal was sacked 10 times and threw 12 picks. Coming out of high school, the Blythewood, SC native was lightly recruited. According to Rivals, he was a two star recruit. Isreal will have four years of eligibility with the Mountaineers. While redshirting him seems like the best option, Isreal may see the field sooner rather than later. After Saunders career ending injury, WVU needed another quarterback and giving preferred walk on Jack Bueltel a shot. Bueltel is 6 foot, 176 pound quarterback out of Barron Collier High in Naples, Florida. He was a three year starter at the 6A level. One plus about Bueltel is his toughness. During a high school game in his senior season, he played through a collapsed lung. Despite being injured, Bueltel threw for more than 100 yards. In three years for the Cougars, Bueltel threw for 2,465 yards and 18 touchdowns. He also rushed for 648 yards and 13 touchdowns. As a junior, Bueltel passed for 1,259 yards and nine touchdowns. I could relate to many of the subjects that this book covered and could understand where the author s ideas originated. Not only can I see his ideas appearing in my own actions, but I also see them in males in their mid forties to fifties. This observation supports the idea of us going from innocence to doubt and back to innocence. The first idea that stuck with me is the interpretation of the salmonand how it represented Christ. Many of the characteristics that we develop from this time remain with us for the rest of our lives. We continue to do things like a family member does or did. Some of the complexes that we develop when we are mere toddlers take us a lifetime to shed. It is during the whole stage of adolescence when we begin to doubt. During this stage we begin to find out who we really are. This process can only be achieved by sifting through the complexes we have developed, questioning them, and changing what we don t like. We build on what fits who we are. Although this process slows down, it still continues for the rest of our lives.Robert Johnson emphasizes that every human being has got to break away from their parents at some point in time, especially their mother complex that lives inside each and every one of us. It is the mother complex that effects us the most and that requires the greatest struggle to recover from. When a child first tries to separate themselves from their mother, it is all in vain. They are only trying to hide it from themselves and the rest of the world. When some aspect of ourselves is being ignored in hopes of it disappearing, that aspect will act up like a child looking for attention. It is only when we can fully accept and understand what ... F. Dion et al. (2004) presents a comparison of the different models for signalized intersections. The paper followed a simple example of an intersection to develop the comparison. A single lane approach with a 60 s cycle length and 30 s effective green time was used to compare the models. The situation is further described in Figure 7. Figure 7: Delay Evaluation Scenario (F. • 6. A Little Room For Creativity Organization design refers to the process by which managers select and manage various dimensions and components of organization structure so that it achieves their goals (Huczynski, 2010). A little room for creativity is needed for the development of an organization. For the success and progress of a management, an effective structural design is a must. Lack of good design leads to less productivity. Whereas, a powerful and excellent organizational design can help to achieve the organization s missions and goals rapidly. Also, a good design helps in communication as well as innovation. But what is the best way to design an organization? Or is there any best way to design an organization? To answer these questions, an understanding on the different approaches/theories of organizational design is needed. According to (Huczynski 2010), there are two main approaches to Organizational design. 1. THE CLASSICAL APPROACH 2. THE CONTINGENCY APPROACH Rhodes (2005), mentioned that (Weber, 1947), (Fayol, 1949) and (Taylor, 1947) were the significant contributors of Classical approach. They all set a bunch of principles that would be useful and helpful for the organizational works. Classical organizational theorists believed that there is a best way to design and create an organizational structure. • 7. Abraham Maslow And The American Psychological Association Abraham Maslow (1908 1970), some time President of the American Psychological Association, is best known for his work on human motivation and in particular for his Hierarchy of Needs, which was first defined in a paper of 1943. Five basic needs are defined, all of which he considered to be hard wired in the human species. They are arranged hierarchically, with self actualization referring to people s desire for self fulfillment, namely, the tendency for them to become actualized in what they are potentially. This tendency might be phrased as the desire to become more and more what one idiosyncratically is, to become everything that one is capable of becoming (Maslow, 1943, p.22). Maslow s 1943 paper mentions cognitive needs such as the desire to know and to understand, and also aesthetics, but does not place them within the hierarchy of five. In other words Maslow recognized, even at this early stage, that his list was incomplete. In spite of this reservation it has been widely reproduced as a complete theory, on the way acquiring its own pictorial representation in the form of a triangle or pyramid, which is reproduced in countless publications. Because the five needs are latently or actively present in all members of the human species, they are described as being biologically rooted . This is a key theme throughout Maslow s work. He is dealing with the characteristics of a particular species, some of which may be shared with other species, but nevertheless he avoids ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Steroids are becoming popular, but no one is stopping to take a look at all the facts about the use of them. Remy an avid steroid user who regrets using steroids suggests, There is no controlled way to use steroids (Campbell 3). Everyone s bodies react different to what steroids can do. Some more dangerous than others. Controlling steroiduse is impossible because everyone uses different amounts and even a little can be dangerous. Harrison Pope a professor of psychiatry at Harvard s McLean Hospital says, The preliminary data on steroids suggest that long term use damages the muscle of the heart, significantly increasing the risk of an attack (Butterworth 2). A continued use of steroids would do damage not only on the heart but the whole body as well. Heart damage is very likely while using steroids. Views of the opposition suggest that they are not worried about the un controlling factors. Tim Cowlishaw a sports writer for the Pittsburgh Post Gazettestates, I think if we made everything legal, we would learn eventually which drugs and creams, and heaven forbid, antler sprays actually have benefits and what their risks are (Cowlishaw 1). The play was very easy to follow and read, and the characters, though mostly stock, were likeable for me. I found a copy of the show on IUcat, and that performance really stuck out to me because it modernized the characters from their original rendering. I liked reading this play, but actually seeing it performed helped me understand some of the intent behind the characters and to really see their personalities take form on the stage. In the version I watched the gossipers in Act 1 Scene 1 would strike a pose and hold it when another gossiper walked into the room (The School). This added a lot of humor to the play, and gave a nice visual effect as well. The school for Scandalis a very relatable play, because scandals and rumors are still very much a part of our society today. School for Scandal reflects the 18th century through its use of expansion within the play. What I mean by this is that Sir Oliver is said to be in the East (Sheridan 1.2). Sir Peter states that Sir Oliver s Eastern Bounty gave them [Joseph and Charles] an early independence, (Sheridan 1.2). The Eastern Bounty more than likely refers to Sir Oliver trading in India. Peter s supremacy consequently manifested itself to catalyze an era of successful Westernization for St. Petersburg and Russia as a whole. His main goal being to civilize the country was accomplished through extensive changes in both political agendas, as well as cultural ones. Dashwood was an English politician and Chancellor of the Exchequer, a British Cabinet level position that appointed him as head of Her Majesty s Treasury. Travelling to St. Petersburg on his Grand Tour in 1733, Dashwood was fascinated by daily life in Russiaand decided to write a diary to document this fascination. In his diary, he examined refinements to Russo culture, architecture and government through a series of detailed excerpts outlining what he observed on a daily basis in St. Petersburg. Dashwood s diary is exceptionally unique in that there had never before been an account of St. Petersburg during the 1930 s (in English) of St. Petersburg on paper. De Bono (1990) defines, Lateral thinking is a set of attitudes, idioms, and techniques for cutting across patterns in a self organizing asymmetric patterning system . He adds that it is helpful in generating new concepts and perceptions. He also claims that Lateral thinking is also concerned with the breaking out of the concept prisons of old ideas and related to insight, creativity, and humour. It is also one of the most sought after approaches by most of the English language facilitators owing to its wide range of general applications. Language itself is the most obvious code system with the words themselves as triggers. Gadd (1998) points out the use of material from De Bono (1970, 1982) are quite common in humanistic language teaching classes. Similarly, a public speaking tutorial on the internet categorically states that speaking is thinking . Ellin Kofsky Schalnick and William S.Hall (1991) say that language is simply a verbal description of thought. This idea reflects that thought is primary and language just acts as a tool to express or to convey the ideas or concepts in an effective manner. Based on Table 1 and Figure 1, the different range of temperatures tested had an effect on the enzymatic reactions. It appears that the lower temperatures such as 0В°C and 25В°C displayed a high absorbance. These results indicate that there was a high presence of starch and low enzymatic function. In comparison, the higher temperatures such as 37В°C and 95В°C displayed a low absorbance. These results indicated that there was a low presence of starch and high enzymatic function. 2.The optimum temperature for the enzymatic reaction is 37В°C. This temperature is the average body temperature for humans. This temperature is not too cold or too hot for enzymes to function. 3.In mammals, and increase in body temperature such as running a fever could cause enzymes to denature due to the high temperature. Also, a decrease in body temperature such as hypothermia could cause enzymes to slow down beyond normal cellular reactions or to not occur at all due to the low temperatures. 4.Using previous knowledge from biology classes, HCl was added to each test tube to help break down the starch along with the amylase. HCl is usually found in the stomach and is used to break down ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

I play the role of the counsellor, and another student plays the role of the client. In order for me to answer the learning outcomes, I have watched the DVD recording. 2.1 Open the session, explaining the working agreement including the following: What is on offer? Limitations Time boundaries Ethical boundaries in line with professional code What is on offer? At the beginning of the session I introduced myself by first name to the client before outlining the counselling contract with her. I felt it was important for the client to know ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... During the session I communicated to the client by saying things such as mmm and yes I hear you . Minimal encourager s were used to demonstrate that I was listening to the client, without disturbing her flow too much. I nodded my head on a couple of occasions which again showed the client that she still had my attention. There was a brief moment of silence which I managed by acknowledging that the silence provided a space for the client to think about what she had just said. At this point my attention was on the client and I felt I gave her respect by not interrupting her thinking time as I waited for her to begin talking again. Empathic listening. To demonstrate my empathy for the client I verbalised that I sense that this is difficult for you . and felt her distress as she became emotional telling her story. Carl Rogers ( 1980 ) felt very passionately about empathic listening. He states: Empathic listening means entering the private perceptual world of the other. It involves being sensitive moment by moment to the changing felt meanings which flow in the other person and temporarily living the others life without making judgements . ( Rogers, 1980. p.142 ). In being empathic towards the client during the session I also was able to reassure her, particularly when during the session she questioned her own capabilities. Effective questioning Any questions I asked during the session invited ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 42. Women Are Not Objects For Women Women are NOT Objects For as long as many can remember, women have had a difficult time dealing with things that men have been able to do with ease. For example, throughout history, it has always been said that men were the only ones allowed to vote for their future president, whereas women were not. Another example was back in the 60 s when women were advertised with sexist jobs such as being house wives while men were to be treated courteously (Sex Appeals in Advertising). With that said, when women were getting noticed a lot more, many men found it difficult to accept that since men basically ruled over women. However, currently, the laws and regulations that women have are completely different than how they were before but women are still fighting a common trend that occurs throughout the entire world. Women are seen as sexual objects to men when they desire pleasure which allows for men to control the situation. Therefore, should women be objectified as sexual objects and caregivers whereas males not so much? I will be answering that throughout this essay. With that said, I will be arguing two things; the first being that women are not intended to be a sexual object to bring a certain pleasure to men, and secondly the Catholic Church should not have to justify that a woman s purpose in life is only to procreate a future life. With that said, I will be focusing on two main authors. The first author goes by the name of Miguel De La Torre and his book is called Doing ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

For a moment my entire body feels frozen until a bomb drops on a vessel close by me. I know that now this is do or die.as bombs are dropping in every sight planes are crashing down causing explosions. The fire is all that is in sight and for a second I lose contact with myself and think about my family. The fire reminds me of them and the love I have for them. I can only hope to return home to them. I say a prayer and make a run for it next to a wounded soldier while trying to avoid shot coming at me in all directions. I aim at a plane along with a few soldiers and give it all I got. The plane comes crashing down on a battleship and explodes knocking us to the ground. This is my worse fear. Martina McBride wrote a powerful song called Concrete Angel. This song is about her adolescent niece whom grew up with an abusive and alcoholic mother. This story is a powerful message about the effects abuse can have on a young child. Abuse can cause long term mental and physical damage. This may include learning capability, physical appearance, and personality identification. Children are subjected mostly to abuse in the home even if the abuse is not directed toward the child. The three most common types of abuse in the home are physical, sexual, and emotional abuse. Physical abuse is causing physical harm to one person. This includes... It is a long term effect on how the child will pursue new relationships and how they will react to specific situations. In personal opinion parents/guardians should pay attention to certain acts of behaviour in front of their children. Although no one is perfect, it is important that parents put their children into consideration when acting upon certain situations. Children are the future of America and every child deserves to have all the tools necessary to succeed in life. In some cases, the physical effects are temporary; however, the pain and suffering can cause long term effects such as anxiety and depression as their brain matures. All forms of abuse take effect on a child s outlook on life and are equally damaging. Children have the ability to become an extraordinary individual who can one day change the world. Childhood should be filled with joyful memories and encouragement to chase your dreams. Lead by example and give the children of today a fighting chance to become something ... • 45. Persian Gulf War Good morning ladies and gentlemen. Im (names) and this is our ignite talk on the Persian Gulf War. The Persian Gulf War was between the United States and Iraq. It started August 2, 1990 and didn t end until February 28, 1991. Iraq was ordered by their leader Saddam Hussein to invade Kuwait because they had to pay for 8 year war between them and Iran and they wanted to gain access to the oil market. Which the only way to do this was accessing the Persian Gulf and Kuwait was the easiest country to invade for them to do this. This brought immediate economic sanctions against Iraq by members of the U.N. Security Council this was because Iraq violated U.N. sanctions. The U.S. President George H. W. There were two very important operations that took place during the Persian Gulf War. The first one was called Operation Desert Shield . This was a U.S operational name for the buildup of U.S forces in Saudi Arabia. To surround and contain Iraq s armed forces. This operation took place from 2 August 1990, to 16 January 1991. So basically the first operation was the setup and the second operation was the attack. The initial conflict to expel Iraqi troops from Kuwait began with an aerial and naval bombardment on 17 January 1991, continuing for five weeks. This was followed by a ground assault on 24 February. This was a decisive victory for the Coalition forces, who liberated Kuwait and advanced into Iraqi territory. The Coalition ceased its advance, and declared a ceasefire 100 hours after the ground campaign started. Aerial and ground combat was confined to Iraq, Kuwait, and areas on Saudi Arabia s border. • 46. The Charge Of The Light Brigade Literary Devices The Battle of Balaclava of the Crimean War took place on October 25, 1854 (Greenspan). Not even two months later, Lord Alfred Tennyson published his poem The Charge of the Light Brigade (History.com). Although the Poetry for Students author believes that the soldiers loyalty was the most notable feature, the more important aspect was the soldiers bravery (Poetryfor Students). In The Charge of the Light Brigade, Tennyson accentuates the bravery that the soldiers exhibited in their battle through the use of literary devices such as repetition, sensory details, and epistrophe. Poets often utilize different techniques in order to improve their writing or to make an argument. In this case, Tennyson used repetition to emphasize the point ... If the reader ignores every other phrase and only reads the last line of each stanza, he is still able to get a sense of how the battle progresses. When the Light Brigade begins to lose the battle, the phrase shifts to not the six hundred, and then to left of six hundred (Tennyson). It is easy to see from these phrases that the circumstances have changed for the soldiers. It seems like the soldiers have no hope and will be forgotten. The last line of the poem, however, changes everything. Noble six hundred! ; the soldiers will not be forgotten or ridiculed, rather they will be remembered and praised for their bravery, no matter the outcome of the battle. Without this phrase being placed at the end of every paragraph, the reader wouldn t understand that the soldiers extensive bravery was enough for them to be remembered, even though they were unsuccessful in battle. The Charge of the Light Brigade is full of emotion and excitement. Neither of those sensations would have been possible without the use of literary devices. Tennyson used repetition, sensory details, and epistrophe in order to add to the emotional effect, but more importantly to aid him in proving the soldiers bravery. Without these literary devices, the poem ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 47. Using The Heat Energy Equation INTRODUCTION (Pre lab) What will be the amount of energy contained in specific snack foods? This question will be solved by using the heat energy equation, Q=mCО”T. Q or q will represent the heat in joules, this will be found algebraically by filling in the rest of the heat energy equation. m will represent the mass in grams, this will be found by finding the mass of the water. C will represent specific heat in Joules/grams В°Celsius, the specific heat of water will always be 4.184 J/gВ°C. О”T will represent the change in temperature, this will be found by subtracting the final temperature of the water by the original temperature of the water. Capital Q means that heat will be added endothermic. Lowercase q means that heat will be lost exothermic. The law conservation of energy says that energy will not be created nor destroyed, but will be converted from one form to another. The percent error equation will be (accepted experimental) Г· (accepted), accepted is the Cal/g on the snack food s package, and the experimental is the Cal/g that is calculated during the experiment. The independent variable will be the Marshmallow, CHEEZ IT, Cheetos, and Chex mix. The dependent variable will be the energy in either Joules/grams or Calories/gram because the amount of energy depends on the snack food. The controlled variable will be the amount of water in the calorimeter because the water will be the same amount in every trial. A bar graph will be needed to determine which snack food ... Ed Gein was such a controversial and disturbing figure that his story inspired a lot of plots for thriller movies and books, such as the character of Norman Bates in Psycho by Alfred Hitchcock and Buffalo Bill in The Silence of the Lambs, a novel by Thomas Harris. The life of Ed Gein was significantly marked by several factors: he spent his childhood with George, an alcoholic and absent father, and Augusta, an overprotective and extremely religious mother, obsessed by the idea that the world was populated by impure and sinful people. Ed had to face his father s and brother s death, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The definition of attachment involves an affectional bond that infants need to form with a differentiated and preferred individual that becomes an attachment figure, consisting in a sustained nurturing relationship with the sensitive caregiver (Bowlbly, 1979). Attachment is conceptualized as an evolutionary feature: individuals can create a secure base around which one is able to explore and gain independence as well as a safe haven to which individuals can return and be reassured in a situation of distress or danger (Ainsworth et al., 1978; Bowlby, 1969). On the contrary, unresponsive or atypical ways of parenting can lead to aberrant behaviours or, if others risk factors are present, to psychopathology (Jacobsen, Edelstein, Hoffman, 1994; Schaffer, 1996). Secure attachment with the primary caregiver is necessary for social and emotional regulation as well as cognitive and resilience abilities(Bowlby, 1982; Ainsworth Bell,1970); insecure attachment affects individuals life in many aspects, especially the ability to face distress (Macbeth et al., 2011), and not too rarely the aftermaths of an insane attachment can culminate in personality disorders (Crawford et al., ...
