Rafael Trujillo s Farewell Analysis
Recently, there have been astonishing changes to our nation, the Dominican Republic, after the
assassination of Rafael Trujillo, our former president that murdered anyone who resisted his
regime and was once viewed upon as a fatherly figure. We are no longer living in fear of the
Servicio de Inteligencia Militar forces since their disbandment and do not hold a portrait of El Jefe
within our houses, simply having more freedom than we did before. Isn t it true that this is a
blessing to us all? Without a doubt, I give my thanks to the Mirabal sisters, the butterflies whom set
our wings unbounded from Trujillo s oppressive rule through their justified extreme sacrifices to
fight for social change, including orphaning their children and Mate giving... Show more content on

We can not forget that the Mirabal sisters are not just heroines, but mothers as well. As mothers,
all they wanted was for their boys and girls to grow up in a free country, a place where individuals
are respected and treated equally. Rafael Trujillos regime was the complete opposite, it was
nothing less than a dictatorship, in which one person ruled with tyranny and absolute control.
After all, what would be the point of living if you were always taken advantaged of or all those
you hold dear to your heart were taken away in front of your eyes? The meaning of being a
mother is virtually endless, yet the Mirabal sisters are selfless protectors who put themselves on
the front line of the rebellion, capable of being arrested, murdered or imprisoned at any time, in
hope of a better future for their children. Not enough credit is given to how much they treasured
each child, how deep their love was up to the point that they moved the world for them. Think
about it again and you will see that they were fighting for every parent s child and are the fire that
fuels our blood, the motivation that allowed us to achieve a safer and more stabilized civilization
that our children live in

Analysis Of Sittig Libs 6991 Internship Reflection
Sittig LIBS 6991 Internship Reflection
I began my MLS program two semesters before moving from a school based technology
facilitator into an elementary school media coordinator position. I served as a media coordinator
for an elementary school three years before moving into the role of a district technology facilitator.
In my current position, I work with a team of three other district technology facilitators. We each
have a curriculum focus, mine is media. I work with media coordinators across the district and
advocate for our district s media programs.
It is with a heavy heart that I write this reflection. This journey has been incredible, and a learning

As I began my internship at the middle school level, I had an expectation that middle school
students would leisurely stroll through the library, check out books, and a media coordinator would
assist students from multiple classrooms in doing research. I also envisioned the shelves would be
filled with upper level chapter books and a large nonfiction section would prominently display
books that support the various facets of the curriculum. This was not a fulfilled expectation.
The current media coordinator is pulled for various duties outside of the role that would be
described within her evaluation rubric. Testing encompasses many days within the school year. She
acts as one of the testing coordinators and is responsible for not only administering tests, but also
as coordinating placement of students and collecting materials. She also acts as the in school
suspension teacher during part of the day, technology facilitator, and as a substitute for classes.
Throughout her day, students and teachers constantly flow into the library for her to repair devices
and troubleshoot programs. She also must cover classes during the day when teachers are pulled for
meetings or other outside duties.
One advantage of the role a media coordinator plays in the school, is that she assumes a leadership
position and provides input in the school improvement plan and is involved in creating policies at
the school level. She handles some types of administrative

A Study On My Current Ign
IGN (Include Previous Names Also): My current IGN is Mehrp and my previous IGNs are:
Chief_Constable, Passata, _Merp and Awesomerp. Age: Turned 15 this year a couple of months
ago. Timezone: I am in the GMT timezone. This may be to my advantage as I often see a lack of
EU staff members on some servers. Location : Bristol, England. Gender: Male How many hours
can you play each day? 2 5 hours on a school day, normally the latter time, however, I will soon be
entering a period of heavy examination meaning I have to complete lengthy homework tasks
and revise for upcoming tests so I may occasionally only be on for a couple of hours on every
odd day or so. The long hours I can be available for means that I can help many people throughout
their day on Velt. Have you had any past experience? Although around 5 years ago when I was
somewhat immature, I was an administrator on a small survival server known as Draggoncraft
then later on called VGS for about . This server would only average around 5 players playing at
any one time but it was a useful experience in helping me to mature nonetheless. I learnt the
basics of making sure that players are happy and whilst although the server hardly had a
professional staff team, I learnt to structure and organise, to a small extent, the current staff team
that there was. The owner of that small server is, if I am correct, a developer on the ParaPvP

Practice
1.Differentiate between the significance of the coefficients in a balanced chemical equation and the
significance of the subscripts in a chemical formula.
В·Coefficients show the correct proportions of atoms and molecules in a chemical reaction. They
are normal sized numbers placed at the beginning of the chemical formulas in a chemical reaction
during the process of balancing. They tell how many of an entire chemical formula is in a reaction.
В·Subscripts show the correct proportions of atoms/ions in a chemical formula. They are the small
numbers within the chemical formula. They tell how many individual atoms/ions are present.

7.What is plasma?
В·Plasma has neither a definite volume nor a definite shape.
В·Plasma is often seen within ionized gases.
В·Plasma is distinct from a gas because it possesses unique properties: oIt contains free electrical
charges (not bound to atoms or ions) oIt can be produced by heating and ionizing a gas. В·Plasma
is often found in areas of the planet/universe where extremely high heats are possible and gases
exist to help create the plasma.
8.Put hydrogen bonds, dispersion forces and dipole dipole forces in order of how strong they are
and give an example of each type of attraction.
В·Strongest = Hydrogen bonds which have hydrogen attached to a fluorine, oxygen, or nitrogen
(Example: Oxygen s attraction to other hydrogens in a bunch of H2O s)
В·Medium Strength = Dipole Dipole bonds which occur between the slight positive end of one
polar molecule and the slight negative end of another polar molecule (Example: Nitrogen s
attraction to other hydrogens in a bunch of NH3 s)
В·Weakest = Dispersion forces which occur in any covalently bonded molecule (Example:
Hydrogen s attraction to other hydrogens in a bunch of CH4 s) Г Note 1: These are
intermolecular forces of attraction so they occur OUTSIDE of the molecules! Г Notes 2: One
covalent bond can be all three types at once.

Cynthia Ozick
Cynthia Ozick (1928 ....)
Cynthia Ozick was born in New York City on April 17, 1928. She was the second of two children.
Her parents, Celia (Regelson) and Wiliam Ozick immigrated to the US from the northwest region of
Russia. The family came from the Litvak (Lithuanian) Jewish tradition which was a tradition of
skepticism, rationalism and antimysticism.
Her parents owned a pharmacy in Pelham Bay section of Bronx. They worked very hard, usually
fourteen hours a day. Cynthia delivered perscriptions sometimes. Her mother was a generous,
lavish, exuberant woman full of laughter whereas her father was a discreet, quiet man. He was also
a Jewish scholar, and knew Latin and German.

Maria Montessori Key Lessons Essay
The Great Key Lessons and Key lessons. Maria Montessori believed that in presenting the whole
universe to the child in their early years, they would be given the courage to act many questions
about what the universe holds. This believed that this would help a child to become more aware of
what surrounds them and curious of what does not. Montessori separated the universeinto five
major sections and many minor ones to help introduce them to the child. Each story had the truths
of the universe as we have been thought them but also leave the child in awe and wonder to try and
comprehend these facts with their meaning. In the first story, the child is shown the universe as a
whole in stages. As the stories go on, they go into further detail bring... Show more content on

Naturally, a child will automatically become interested in a topic which is led by another. Interest
spreads to all, for all are linked and have their place in the universe on which the mind is centred.
The stars, earth, stones, life of all kinds form a whole in relation with each other, and so close is
this relation that we cannot understand a stone without some understanding of the great sun.
No matter what we touch, an atom, or a cell, we cannot explain it without the knowledge of the
wide universe. Some agree that the material in the curriculum should be force fed to a child and
others feel that it should be. Maria Montessori was deeply religious, and brought many of her
beliefs into the Great Lessons. These lessons came about back when religious beliefs were an
accepted, natural part of everyday life which also includes the school environment. Things are
different today, and if you are teaching at a school, you ll probably want to stick to a factual
account of the beginning of the universe (see the end of this post for some resources); if you re at
home, you can feel free to tailor the lesson to your own family s religious

Wilson And Myrtle s Power In The Great Gatsby
Secrets can serve as powerful weapons, which Fitzgerald proves to be true throughout the novel
and Chapter Eight in particular. Daisy is the one driving the yellow car when it fatally hits
Myrtle. Although Daisy chooses to be with Tom over Gatsby, Gatsby still protects her. He lets
Tom and eventually Wilson think that he was the one driving, and Daisy does not tell anyone
that she was the one actually driving the car when it struck Myrtle. The only other person who
knows who was really driving the car is Nick, who does not tell anyone that Daisy was the one
driving. Wilson is furious that his wife is dead and also that she cheated on him, and seeks revenge

Wilson had no friends, and his only true relationship was with Myrtle. However, she did not love
him, and was cheating on him with Tom. Wilson also thought that Gatsby was the one who was
in a relationship with Myrtle, and that he is the one who killed Myrtle. I find it interesting and
disturbing the lengths the characters went to either protect the ones they love, or to keep
themselves from being alone. Gatsby was in love with Daisy, and did not cease to protect her
even after she chose to be with Tom. He did not want Daisy to get in trouble for killing Myrtle,
and would rather take the blame than have Daisy face the consequences of her actions. However,
I am not sure if Gatsby did this because he loved her, or because he was still clinging onto the hope
that Daisy would choose to be with him. Gatsby loved Daisy, but I also believe he did not want to be

Tattoos In Western Culture
Tattoos in Western Culture The art of tattooing has changed in modern times quite drastically. It is
slowly becoming more acceptable to own and display tattoos on one s body. In more conservative
times, those with tattoos were looked on as social outcast, turned down for jobs and seen as strange
outsiders. However, within the past half century, tattoos have steadily become more acceptable.
Millions of people in America now proudly tattoo their skin, with everything from religious
symbols to naked women. There is a whole industry based around tattoos, tattoo care, and basically
everything tattoo. There are now expensive clothing lines that base their imagery on tattoo art, such
as the Ed Hardy brand (no matter how stupid the clothes... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
With that high of a percentage, the popularity of memorial tattoos obviously has a direct impact
on the overall popularity and acceptance of tattoos in general. All of these are possible reasons
as to why tattoos have become more popular in recent years. However, the most likely reason for
the spike in popularity is not one, but all of these reasons. They all increase the number of people
willing to go out and get tattoos, and all of them are responsible for making tattoos more
acceptable by society. The rise in popularity has created a community for those associated with the
art form. There are conventions, shows, magazines, and websites dedicated solely to the art of
tattooing. Not only is there a community for those who adorn tattoos, but that community is
broken up into different classes. There are three separate sub classes of this tattoo community. The
first is the biker/working class. These people are often poorer and have cheaper tattoos. They are
looked down upon by the highest class as being losers and outsiders, and the high class in the tattoo
community feels no connection with them. The next class is the young punks. This young class is
obviously made up of young members, a lot of them involved in some other sub culture, music,
MMA fighting, etc. There is some overlap between this class and the other classes, since some of
them are richer and some are poorer. At the

Physical, Cognitive And Social Development Stages Of Human...
Human development is a science that focuses on the observations regarding physical, cognitive and
social behavior of humans throughout their lifespan. Social workers must be aware of the various
dimensions that are part of normal development to help clients understand what is typical during
each developmental stage. Using a multidimensional approach, the social worker is able to assess
both strengths and risks factors of each evolving stage. Each stage of development involves
reaching certain milestones. It s important to understand that sometimes these milestones are not
reached due to environmental, personal or external factors that affect the normal process
development. The professional social worker must take into account factors such as culture or
sexual preference while assessing typical development. According to (Ashford and LeCroy, 2013)
there are seven different human developmental stages beginning with the physical development of
the fetus and ending with death in the late adulthood stage. Young adulthood is a stage of human
developmentwere many decisions take place. A typical young adultis between the ages of twenty
two and thirty four years old. Initial choices in love, lifestyle, values, and occupation occur. The
young adult is seeking to develop meaningful relationships, while building an occupational identity,
thinking about forming a family, seeking independence from its parents, and experiencing high

Masculinity
In my opinion, Masculinity versus femininity is about the value system refers to genders s role in
society. If some country has a low number of masculinuty, means that country s values systems
refers to feminimity which is the society is caring others and have a good life quality. But if the
country has a high score of masculinity, that is mean the country s society is driven by competition
and thought that be the winner means succsessfull.
Example:
US has 62 for masculinity, it means that US s society is much to masculin. They want to have a lot
of achievement as their succes standard, they would love to compete and be the winner instead.
Japan has 95 for their score, it shows that Japanese is an absolute masculin, their succsess is define
by they become the winner or they can be the best in their field or not. So Japanese can easily
motivated through competition to show which one the best of them.
Uncertainty Avoidance

East Asian Concept Of Human Nature
East Asian Concept of human nature
Introduction
The Eastern Asia region is diverse. It include: Buddhism, Confucianism, Islam, Taoism, Shinto and
Christianity. Confucianism and Buddhism and Taoism have dominated most parts of the region
with some states governing system being based on these religions. Chinese government,
constitution and the administration policies have been based on the ethics of Confucian traditions
and ethics as well as philosophy. Similar to the governing ethics in these region nations, the
understanding of human nature has been influenced by each of the religions and determines how the
natives act according to the respective beliefs. Religions have different explanations of human
nature, which are based on the philosophies of religion founder or the ethics. The question on nature
of human beings has been raised based on these religions. The nature of humanity has been
proclaimed either as good or evil one. Human beings are known to distinguish between what is good
and discard what is bad. Such knowledge constitutes morality in humanity, which authorizes the
limit of interactions as well as relations with other human beings. However, human being depending
on the nature and degree of understanding of their self, are limited to understanding what is right
and discarding the wrong one. Moreover, they must be guided in understanding what is right and
shun the evil away. As acknowledged by Confucius, human beings especially the males have a

5 3. The Lawsuit In this essay, the massive design war between mobile devices giants Apple and
Samsung will be summarized and reviewed. This lawsuit was the first of a series of ongoing
lawsuits between the two. Apple s multinational lawsuits concerning mainly technology patents
became known as the mobile device patent war; extensive litigation in fierce competition in the
global market for mobile devices and applications. 15 months after Apple first sued Samsung,
the two companies were both defendant and plaintiff in more than 50 lawsuits around the globe.
The claimed damaged between the corporations ran into the billions of dollars. In the end,
Samsung won rulings in its favor in South Korea, Japan and the UK. Apple won a ruling in its
favor in the U.S. In this review, only the first original lawsuit in the United States District Court
for the Northern District of California will be addressed. The hostile standoff between the two
corporate giants Apple and Samsung can be seen as a shapeshifting space for intellectual property
laws. This is because of the different interpretations of IP law this case has evoked from the courts.
The Lawsuit happened after the two corporations had several meetings about intellectual property
infringement issues that led nowhere. Over the course of several months, Apple CEO Tim Cook
had met with Samsung s top executives to try and reach a settlement. The two sides were even

African Americans and feminism, believes that women have the same power as men. Anything men

division of labor mechanism instilled in our society that isn t politically correct; thereby taking a

describes a range of self determination and equality (Tyree 2). Being an African American
feminist in her time period was much more difficult than today. She had to face ignorant minds
and fight for her belief. Lucille Clifton praises her body that has made her independent. She
believes the only thing that sets a man off from a woman is her hips. She believed that women
should have the same rights as men, her hips should have not been held back. Women are
capable of performing the same tasks. Women are emotionally stronger than men as well.
Women were granted with a gift that no man could ever do, childbearing. Many look at it as not

The Government outlined their aim to fulfil their responsibility to provide care and protection
for those who through their illness or disability are genuinely unable to express needs and wants
or exercise control. However, they made clear that the right to self determination would be at the
heart of a reformed system only constrained by the realities of finite resources and levels of
protection, which should be responsible but not risk averse. This section demonstrates a future
vision for the safeguarding of vulnerable adults and discusses protection but also the importance
of not being risk averse similar to what is outlined in the Human rights Act 1998 which discusses
the right to independence which involves a degree of naturally occurring risk. Section 3 is
entitled A personalised Adult Social Care System and in subsection 3.3 it discusses Systems
which act on and minimise the risk of abuse and neglect of vulnerable adults, supported by a

Oklahoma Abortion Debate
Why the Oklahoma Abortion Bill is Unethical
Women, for centuries, have not been allowed to make decisions regarding their bodies. Finally,
when the end of the fight is within reach, steps backward are taken. Oklahoma recently passed a
bill requiring the father to approve an abortion procedure, the only time that the father s permission
is not required is in rape cases, and fetuses that have been diagnosed with down syndrome cannot be
aborted. When asked about the bill, Oklahoma Rep. Justin Humphrey stated:
I believe one of the breakdowns in our society is that we have excluded the man out of all of these
types of decisions, I understand that they feel like that is their body, I feel like it is a separate what

76% of the turnaways ended up on unemployment benefits, as opposed to the 44% of women who
had abortions. ( Advancing New Standards in Reproductive Health , 2014) The same study found
that women unable to obtain abortions were more likely to stay in a relationship with an abusive
partner than women who had an abortion, and were more than twice as likely to become victims of
domestic violence (Annalee Newitz). Turning away women that cannot get their husbands or
boyfriends to give their approval for a safe abortion is unfair in every aspect.
A woman could do everything in her power to not get pregnant and still end up with a child, but
there are not many preventative matters on the guy s end. The Oklahoma Abortion Bill was put into
place because they wanted to bring men back into the decision making
Two committees were paying close attention to the study, and they realized that a lot of guys were
dropping out because they were experiencing side effects. The most common side effect was acne,
and sometimes that acne was pretty severe. Some men also developed mood swings and in some
cases those mood swings got pretty bad. One man developed severe depression, and another tried to

This is a book was written by Jacob Riis, who was a muckraking journalist. Muckraker was a
journalist who pushed for reform in publications that covered the issues of society for the middle
and wealthy classes. In this book, Riis made a photographic report about the life of poor people
in the tenements of New York. In the beginning, Riis described a raid which was made by
policemen. The object of that raid was the stale beer dives. He said that the squads sent to make
simultaneous control on all tramp s lair in the area. After that, they caught several tramps and
sent them to the police station. Then, Riis described a room of one tenement. There was a dirty
floor, broken chair, and many things that it shouldn t in the memory of the man. In that place,
there was a group of poor people. The policemen broke into that room and surrounded those
people. There was a thirteen person in that dirty room. The police took them and went to another
location. In another location, the policemen found seventy five men and women and arrested
them in four small rooms. When they went back to the police station, there were two hundred
seventy five tramps, who were captured by policemen, packed them into groups to be arraigned
in the police court. He said that the tramps might be sent to an island for six months. After that,
he described the people s life in that area which known as the bend . He said that a share of stale
beer traffic has left the bend due to an Italian tramp landlord. He

A Visit At The Bakersfield College Essay
A visit that I would like to discuss was with my 21 years old Native American female and her
newborn son in her home. The purpose of this home visit was to check how the infant was doing
because he was in the NICU after birth to rule out sepsis and also to check how the mother was
doing after the birth of her first child. She lives in her parent s house with her siblings and
boyfriend, and total seven people live in that house. The new mother is currently is not working,
but she is taking classes at the Bakersfield College. Her family is supportive, and the baby s father
is involved in the care of the Infant. Approximately 1/3 of Native Americans live in poverty and
experience the conditions related to poor living conditions such as tuberculosis, malnourishment,
and higher maternal and infant death rates (Allender, Rector, Warner, 2014). Some of the common
highest ranking health problems seen in Native American children are SIDS, congenital anomalies,
obesity, type II diabetes, and morbidity and mortality related to injuries (Allender et al., 2014).
Poor hygiene, packed housing conditions, and low immunization leads to the incidence of a variety
of contagious diseases in Native Americans (Allender et al., 2014). Native Americans prefer
customary healing and folk medicines compared to the Western medicine; they use plants and herbs
to cure illnesses (Allender et al., 2014). During this visit, I completed physical assessment of the
Infant, completed 102, and asked the

Flint Ridge State Park
Have you ever been to a Licking County park? I have been to both Licking County State Parks. I
am going to explain some of the similarities and differences of Buckeye Lake State Park and Flint
Ridge State Park, which is really more of a National park because it is a massive park which I will
explain in later paragraphs. I am going to talk about why these parksare so well known their terrain
and some of the things that can be seen at these state parks. There are many different parks in
Licking County but there are two well known state parks, Buckeye Lake State Parkand Flint Ridge
State Park, in some ways they are the same and some ways are very different.

At Flint Ridge State Park you can find craters in the ground which were dug for the flint found in
the area. Flint Ridge isn t just a small area it runs from National rd. to the west Appalachian
Mountains and all the way South to Florida, as well as running North to Maine. If you go to
Flint Ridge and dig in the pits or anywhere in the area for that matter you may find dead Indians
or arrowheads that were made by Indians and used for fighting here or getting food. Some of the
flint found here is black in color and is not from Flint Ridge. This flint is called Upper Mercer
Flint and it is from the Coshocton area. There are many reasons for the different kinds of flint
but the best known is that all of the flint on Flint Ridge was brought in by the latest glacier
between 11,400 and 12,000 years ago and is so colorful because it is made from flint from here
to the Rocky Mountains, and the black flint in the Coshocton area, Upper Mercer, is flint strictly
from the Ohio area. All flint is found on the ridges from where it was pushed up by the glacier and
not nearly as much at the bottom because that is where all of the heavier rocks

On the performance and analysis of DNS security extensions...
On the performance and analysis of DNS security extensions The domain naming server plays a
vital role in the internet as it is needed and is involved in every internet application. DNS now
works well and it is also sometimes mentioned that any new changes added to the present DNS
may contribute to interruption to its functionality and can also contribute towards additional
complexity which is undesirable. Current networks and the future networks relay essentially on
DNS and it is important that the DNS should be a secured one. The DNS can be easily attacked
and such an attack can cause dire consequences so it specifies the importance to use a secured
version of DNS to avoid such consequences. To employ such a version involves more cost.... Show

Cost for increasing security to DNS varies depending on the kind of name server used. When the
data is static then PK DNSSEC is suitable and when the data is dynamic, better option would be
to consider SK DNSSEC. Caching resolvers computational cost is large in PK DNSSEC and non
recursive servers computational cost is high in SK DNSSEC [2]. Hybrid approach is used to
eliminate these computational costs. SK DNSEC cryptographic core contributes less to the total
cost in producing symmetric certificates and thus a better performing efficient and fast
cryptographic core can be used to improve the performance. If a new resolver is added or when
existing root certificate becomes invalid then public key cryptography is used by the SK DNS. In
these cases root server can take care of the load caused by valid requests whereas the root server
enabled with SK DNSSEC is sensitive to reject of service attack. Security and performance both
can be achieved by using hybrid approach. It can be used with PK DNSSEC for the top level
domain of DNS tree and for SK DNSSEC for lower level domain of DNS tree. Size of the response
packets of DNS are increased by producing higher network traffic and latency in PK DNSSEC. SK
DNSSEC is considered to be a possible alternative for PK DNSSEC for few of the important
reasons like key management is made easy with SK DNSSEC, smaller response packets which
require small memory for caching. [1]

Funeral Decedent Essay
If I owned a funeral home and a family entrusted me with the care and preparation of their loved
one, I would add the decedent s vital and service information via the funeral home s website for
guest. If the decedent was part of a veteran organization and a brief ceremony would be scheduled
during visitation or service hours, the information would be published in a newspaper obituary or
added to an online obituary for those wanting to attend.
If the decedent was part of a fraternal organization and the family wished to have a non sectarian
funeral service, which are similar to military funerals, the funeral director must be advised during
arrangements. The family must provide the DD 214 form, so the funeral home is aware of the
branch the decedent belonged to and could provide a U.S. flag to be draped over the casket
during services. It becomes the funeral professional s responsibility to coordinate the participation
of the various fraternal organizations in a funeral service (NACMS, p. 149). It is important for the
funeral director to work with all the people involved during a veteran s organization funeral rite,
including the clergy, post commander, and family, to make sure everything goes according to plan.
During a fraternal funeral ceremony, the organization is able to provide full military honors, which

Self Deprivation In Sylvia Plath s The Bell Jar
Self Deprivation Women all over the world must follow society s expectations. In fact, in Saudi
Arabia, women could not drive until late September of this year! Similarly, in Sylvia Plath s The
Bell Jar, societal pressures push, the protagonist, Esther Greenwood to act in a particular way.
Esther grows up in a small town and goes to New York for an internship for journalism. Through
this opportunity she learns that she must act like an ideal woman of the time. Yet, she enjoys
things that are out of the normality. This causes her to lose who she is and who she wants to
become. In The Bell Jar, Plath reveals that strict women s standards may cause a loss of self. In
the novel, women are upheld to a typical standard of how to act in public. For example, in the
past and even in the twenty first century all over the world; women must dress a certain way.
Using imagery Sylvia Plath describes how women have to look and act in society. Women ...had
to wear hats and stockings and gloves to class (Plath 4). The author continues to say that the
ladies who were out of school got jobs as secretaries. These secretaries are wandering around New
York looking to marry to a man with money. The author illustrates how women have to dress and
act a specific way which Esther did not conform with. She wanted to be a successful writer with or
without a husband. The strict standards women obliged to leads to Esther losing her true identity.
Society pressures women to act in a specific way.

many aspects of intercultural communications. Clint Eastwood plays Walt Kowolski whose wife

Throughout the movie we see Walt having problems with the younger generations as well. During
Walt s wife s funeral Walt see s the way his granddaughter is dressed and instantly disapproves

car they were driving was made in Japan. Walt did not appreciate this at all. The generation below
him does not consider where the car was made but rather what kind of status the car will give them.
This clearly bothers Walt because to him it is like running away from the battle.
The conclusion was fitting as the meaningful ending to the movie and Walt s life and was one that
our culture don t always seem to appreciate in the real world.

Side Effects Of Self-Harm Research Paper
Bleeding out. Scarred from head to toe. These are a couple of side effects of self harm inflicted by
adolescents. Some mental causes for self harm are depression, anxiety, and mood disorders. Self
harm is currently a major concern, and there have been many moves recently to combat it. Two of
the more significant treatments developed that assist adolescents with their self harming behaviors
are Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) (Laye Gindhu
Schonert Reichl, 2005). Before discussing these treatment options, an understanding of what self
harmtruly means is crucial. Self harm, [is] defined here as deliberate and voluntary physical self
injury that is not life threatening and is without any conscious suicidal intent (Laye Gindhu
Schonert Reichl, 2005, p. 447). According to population studies, between 5% and 10 % of
adolescents report past year self harm (Mehlum, et al. 2016, p. 1082). Some of the more well
known forms of self harm are cutting, hitting, biting, (Laye Gindhu Schonert Reichl, 2005, p. 453)

Migrant Workers In Canada
For over 50 years, farmers in Ontario and other provinces in Canada have met their seasonal
labour needs through the use of the Canadian Seasonal Agricultural Workers Program (CSAWP)
by hiring temporary workers from Mexico and other locations in the Caribbean. This program
allows entry of low to middle skilled farm workers for a provisional time of up to eight months of
the year into Canada each year. With current studies showing more than 1,600 migrant workers are

The Hollow Men by T.S. Eliot expresses the message of modern life doesn t appreciate faith. T.S.
Eliot came to the conclusion that people of the modern generation have lost their faith that
people once had. Eliot was nothing if not a seeker: seeking to reconcile the culture he saw with
what he hoped it to be; seeking to reconcile an inner despair with a parallel want of faith
(Dobrinska). In The Hollow Men Eliot describes how people don t put religion above all things
important anymore. He explains we shifted to craving liberation not religion. At the end of the
poem, eliot tries to recite God s words but is unable because the modern world no longer knows
them. For thine is, life is, for thine is the (91). Eliot ends the poem with these words to really hit
hard the point that religion is falling apart, and the modern world no longer believes in the idea.
T.S. Eliot s last message in his literary work The Hollow Men is that the modern world lack
integrity. Eliot explains that the modern world is afraid to meet our ancestors in the other side.
Let me also wear such deliberate disguises (32). The modern world is embarrassed about the
lives we live. The modern era hides their face from the ancestors because our lives are not as
valuable as their lives once were. The modern era doesn t accomplish as much importance as the
times before. It contains the poet s reflection on the subject of human nature in this world, and

Essay on Morality in the Elizabethan Era
Morality in the Elizabethan Era Values and morals of the Victorian era are quite different than
those that our society upholds today. The satirical plays, A Doll s House by Henrik Ibsen, and
Pygmalion by George Bernard Shaw, examine the problems with certain beliefs held by the
people, both men and women, of the Victorian age. Furthermore, the people in general didn t not
just hold certain morals, but the different classes in the Victorian society also held their own
beliefs on moral code. Of which, the middle class beliefs are most closely examined in both plays.
Men and women were expected by others in Victorian society to uphold certain moral behaviors.

After reading these chapters my eyes have been open to a different way of thinking. The book
mentioned how no one is born a hater. It s your attitude and surrounding that makes you believe
you are a hater of a certain group of people. As an educational leader, these chapters show how
important it is to show love and compassion to all. Also to have an understanding and appreciation

I believe the biggest conflict I have between my values and how I behave as an educator is the
fact that I have to stay neutral. The students or parents should not know your religious beliefs or
how you think politically. As an educator you must educate all on both sides allowing them to
think for themselves. Not everyone thinks the same way or has the same morals. Although I can
display some of my values as just as love and respect, I am unable to express my opinion on some
topics within the school. Often times it is hard to remember. For example, a teacher might have to
teach evolution when they believe in creation. One would have to stay neutral and teach and
understand both creation and evolution in order for the students to be well rounded and exposed to
every aspect. I find that to be the biggest struggle for myself as an educator.

The Atmospheric Temperature, Pressure And Density
The atmosphere has a mass of about 4.5 to 5.0Г—1018 kg. The atmospheric temperature, pressure

cosmic radiations from outer space and helps in sustaining life on the earth. The atmosphere plays a
vital role in maintaining the heat balance on the earth by absorbing the infrared radiation received
from the sunand re emitted by the earth. Infact, it is known as the greenhouse effect , which keeps
the earth warm enough to sustain life on the earth. The atmospherehas broadly three categories like
major, minor and traces compounds.
Major components N2 (78.09%), O2 (20.94%) and water vapour (0.1 to 5%).
Minor components Argon (0.93%), CO2 (0.32%).
Trace components Neon, Helium, Methane, Krypton, Nitrous Oxides, Xeon, SO2, NO2, NH3, CO,

forms of democracy, their meeting mandates and their system of selecting judges. This paper
discusses these differences as well as an important concern for Nevadans, the value of an
intermediate court of appeals. In the latter we will note the attempts to establish a court of appeals
as well where the issue stands now. I.Why the Nevada Constitution is lengthier and what that means
for Nevada judges as they do their jobs of interpreting the state constitution compared to federal
counterparts. The Nevada Constitution is lengthier than its federal counterpart primarily because it
contains many more policy oriented provisions, as well as provisions concerning the character,
virtue and even morality of its people than that of the federal Constitution. There is also a
distinguished difference in the separation or distribution of powers as the federal constitution does
not mandate any particular arrangement of governmental powers in the states. Also, provisions
involving individual rights in the federal Constitution have not been incorporated so as to apply to
the states. Generally speaking, State constitutions perform different functions (generally limit
plenary powers rather than grant enumerated powers), have different origins (from the people
Garcia themselves), and have a different

Newborn Care Interview Essay
A/B Test for Client X: Newborn Care App I believe an infographic would be an ideal digital
marketing tool to get information about the app to new mothers. New mothers, and fathers, are
figuring out their new routines, and how to manage their time while getting very little sleep. New
mothers spend a lot of time sitting down feeding their baby. I don t think they are enjoying many, if
any, extended internet surfing sessions. They are more likely quickly scanning Facebook, or
Instagram to post more pictures of the new addition, or reading the comments about the pictures
that were posted previously. These new mothers are not going to spend a lot of time digging for
information. Therefore, an infographic would get the important bullets of how this tracking app
could help manage and create routines. The infographic should be A/B tested. Assuming the app
has been tested sufficiently, my recommendation would be to test when the campaign starts. I
believe that having a product available now instead of having to read about it, and then wait is
critical for a new motherwhose life has been altered drastically. They likely don t have the time, or
care to remember something they read about previously. The versions of the A/B test infographic
could include one with a picture of a smiling,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The stay at home mom, and the working mother. The working mother may not be as inclined to
use the app, because she will not be the one administering all of the feedings, and naps. Data on
how long moms plan on staying home before returning to work could be measured also. The app
maybe use just as much by any mom while she is at home. It seems that a stay at home mother
would be more likely to use the app on a regular extended basis. Adding a question in the sign up
phase as to whether or not the subscriber is a stay at home, or working mother would allow for
measuring if either type of mother saw a practical use for them

Stimulation Innovation
Thinking back about past times worth remembering when we were growing up is a memory outing
admirably worth taking when attempting to comprehend the issues confronting the offspring of
today. An insignificant 20 years back, youngsters used to play outside throughout the day, riding
bicycles, playing games and building strongholds. Experts of fanciful recreations, offspring of the
past made their own particular type of play that didn t require expensive gear or parental
supervision. Offspring of the past moved... a great deal, and their tactile world was nature based
and basic. Before, familytime was frequently spent doing errands, and youngsters had desires to

Colorado Gold Rush Research Paper
Throughout American history there has been many instances of European settlers invading the
land of the native peoples. This holds true for the state of Colorado. It appears as if the Gold
Rush acts as a catalyst for this hostile relationship. Although there are many positives Colorado
experienced from the gold rush, the native people experienced the downside of this historical
event. The first Northern American European explorers came from Spain. During these first
travels Colorado wasn t in anyone s sights. They saw it as a remote area on the outskirts of the
areas that they wanted to colonize. They went all around Colorado, forming New Mexico, fighting
the Natives as they went. From New Mexico the explorers started to enter Southern Colorado....

The government wanted the land for mining, but hey could have gone about it in a better way
than opening fire on a group of innocent people. They might have seen this to be the easiest
response, but the easiest solutions aren t always the correct path to take. They could have made a
deal with the Indians to use their land, while they still lived on it, or for a small cut of the profits.
This leaves less money for the government and big mining firms, but there would have been no
causalities and the relationship between the Natives and the United States government and citizens
would have been greatly

Essay on Sigmund Freud s Ego Defense Mechanisms
Sigmund Freud is perhaps one of the most well known theorists in regards to the study of the
human psyche. Freud s model of the human psyche is comprised of three core elements: the Id, or
the unconscious mind; things out of our awareness. The
Superego, or the subconscious mind, and finally the Ego, which lies between the unconscious and
subconscious. Freud proposes that there are nine ego defense mechanisms that act the ego uses in
its job as the mediator between the id and the superego. In psychoanalysis, an ego defense
mechanism is an unconscious personality reaction that the ego uses to protect our conscious mind
from threatening feelings or perceptions.
The ego defense mechanisms are as follows: denial, displacement, ... Show more content on

If I m planning to do something but something else comes up, I may try and rationalize the
decision by putting down the other option weather is going to be bad , I didn t really want to do
that anyway , or I can always go later . Another example is entertainment movies, music, or
activities; I may not like a certain type of film or genre of music, but when American pop culture
is rife with that type of music or movie, I ll try and rationalize my association with such things as
everything in moderation or it s fine, as long as I don t indulge . Displacement is another
defense mechanism I ve noticed. If I m having a bad day or if I m mad for one reason or another,
I notice that I d often take it out on undeserving people. Often I would use an angry tone with
someone if I d just been in an argument, as my anger has not yet subsided. As with everything,
everything in moderation . I believe ego defense mechanisms are not completely unhealthy, and that
using them to deal with some situations can prove to be beneficial in the development of our
personality. However, if one relies primarily on ego defense mechanisms and refuses to deal with
circumstances head on , they will develop problems later in life. In situations when one is
undoubtedly guilty, it is impossible to rationalize or justify their actions or attitudes and hide behind
unfounded explanations in

A Voice Of Music Of The Classic And Romantic Eras

22 November, 2014 A Voice in Music: The Messages in Music of the Classic and Romantic Eras
Many aspects of the way people lived have changed between the times of the Romantic era and the
Classic era. Music and the Enlightenment were very big helps to this major change between eras
and in the way the world worked and how society functioned. The Enlightenment and the curiosity
of man was the cause of the exploration and discovery of new lands all around the world. These
historical landmarks were never forgotten due to the evidence being put into the literature and
musical compositions that were written at the time. These stories, songs, and operas contain hidden
messages and aspects in the music, such as certain rhythms and dynamics, that specifically refer
directly to the eras stated previously. Artists like Mozart and Haydn, and composers of operalike
Giuseppe Verdi, all have contributed to putting details of the events of the time period into their
works. These genius designers have succeeded in displaying the Romantic and Classic eras in
their music. Giuseppe Verdi was one of the greatest and most famous opera composers to live
during the Romantic era. His operas, which take place in Italy, perfectly painted a clear
description of the events and social life of the time period in which his musical pieces were
written. His two most most known operas were La Traviata and Rigoletto. La Traviata follows a

The Film Black Orpheus and the Myth of Orpheus and Eurydice
The story of Orpheus and Eurydice is one that has been passed down through generations for
thousands of years. Almost every generation has heard a rendition of how Orpheus and Eurydice
fall in love with one another and are eventually parted by death. I say rendition because this myth is
passed on by word of mouth, which in return causes the story to change depending on the story teller
. This may also have a great deal to do with the different interpretation people form about the story.
Black Orpheus, directed by Marcel Camus in 1959, is an interpretation or modern rendition of the
Greek myth, Orpheus and Eurydice. Although this film does not adapt the literal meaning of the ...

In the process him trying to escape the doctors, Orpheus finds a scarf stuck in the elevator that he

the elevator doors open. Once he reaches the point where the elevator stops, he is very
disappointed at what he sees. To his dismay, the woman he has been chasing up numerous of stairs
is not Eurydice. At this point of the scene, I believe that Orpheus is traveling through the second
river of the underworld, Acheron, which is the river of woe. Orpheus is in such despair when he
realizes that the woman on the elevator is not Eurydice. His body language as he walks from the
hospital is full of wretchedness. Benedito reaches out and holds his lifeless hand in support.
As they leave the hospital, instead of Orpheus realizing that Eurydice is dead, he continues to

third level of his journey to the underworld. Lethe is the river of forgetfulness and I sincerely feel

The Impact Of Workplace On The Workplace
Business owners and leaders of all management levels usually agree on one thing, a constant
demand to keep others in the work environment motivated and productive. Workplace productivity

workers complete tasks at their workplaces. Finding ways to increase workplace productivityis a
task that can be frustrating and time consuming. The ability to motivate and get employees to work

If production needs aren t met the goals of the company is negatively affected. A decrease in
production will cause a company to lose profits and the company s stability. The manager must take

upper management needs to be built and maintained for a positive and productive workplace. It
takes all employees working together as a team to build a strong and financially stable company.
Companies often brainstorm and discuss employee effectiveness and efficiency when trying to

employees are able to be more effective. An effective employee produces at a high level, while an

Aristotle s Rhetorical Rhetoric On The Human Soul
Aristotle s Rhetorical Rhetoric Aristotle, a famous philosopher, is one of the most renowned
Greek scholars, and was an influential force in ancient Greece and in modern society. He was the
head of the Macedon royal academy, where he taught Alexander the Great, his most famous pupil.
He founded the famous Lyceum in Athens later in his life, which is portrayed in Raphael s
painting School of Athens. Aristotle is known for his interest in nature and science, and his
emphasis on empirical evidence to prove his points has become the keystone of modern scientific
research. As a result, one of the topics he studied is the cause of human difference. He discusses in

Such an egotistical belief is expressed when Aristotle describes how the soul rules the body with a
despotical rule, whereas the intellect rules the appetites with a constitutional and royal rule
(Aristotle, 5). By drawing a relationship between the intellect and fair rule, Aristotle appeals to the
Greeks: if their form of government is truly the best, then Aristotle s vision of the model citizen
must be as well. Similarly, Aristotle s descriptions of the superiority and inferiority of certain
groups are also dependent on his familiarity with each group. Since Plato s Academy, which
preached an elitist philosophy (Welch, Marshall and Billig, 10), was mostly male(Reeve), Aristotle
ranks males over females, fathers over mothers, and husbands over wives. Similarly, Aristotle
places masters over slaves as he was a free citizen living among other free citizens; by corollary
of such an authority based dynamic, he also ranks natural rulers above subjects. Finally, as
Aristotle had only lived in Greece before Politics was published, he had no personal exposure to
the barbarian Persians, and thus stated that Hellenes, a term describing all Greeks unified together,
were superior to the Persians (Biography.com). These explanations are not grounded in any sort of
empirical evidence; rather, Aristotle classifies groups statuses

The Development of the Big Bang Theory
Abstract
The big bang theory is the result of work by Albert Einstein and Edwin Hubble. Arno Penzias and
Reno Wilson stumbled upon background noise emanating from space. Collaboration with Robert
Dicke resulted in a paper providing evidence for the big bang. Science research relies on

September 1, 2014 A popular television show called The Big Bang Theory airs every Thursday
night on the CBS television network and is also in syndication. The show s introduction
compresses the history of the world and scientific advances into a nineteen second video. Listen
closely to the beginning and hear according to Robertson (2007), the whole universe was in a hot
dense state and 14 billion years ago the expansion started. The song and images seem to flash at
light speed. One of my sons asked, What did the TV show mean by the big bang theory? This one
television show, while not explaining the theory, launched the phrase, big bang theory into our
generation s collective conscious. In simple terms, the big bang theory is a scientific attempt to
explain a question mankind asked from the beginning of time: Why are we here and where did we
come from?

Surgeons
Trained health care professionals that administer and perform surgeries and different medical
procedures are known as surgeons. These skilled health care professionals aid with curing injuries,
preventing and treating diseases, correcting deformities, and improving human bodily functions.
Surgeons also act to improve the aesthetic and physical appearance of the patient with surgery. They
are required to carry out these services using advanced medical technology and/or surgical
instruments. Surgeons are trained to perform both major and minor procedures. After being trained
as general surgeons, these health care professionals often choose to specialise in a subfield of

began dissecting human bodies to gain a better understanding of the human anatomy. From his
observations, he published The Fabric of the Human Body , which contained accurate sketches and
diagrams of the human body. Modern surgery was introduced in 18th century when John Hunter
(the Father of Modern Surgery) invented procedures like tracheotomy (incision in the trachea
which relieved an obstruction to breathing). The first ambulance service was also operated towards
the end of that century. Anaesthetics were discovered in the 19th century; this enabled the great
improvement of surgery. Humphrey Davy gathered that ether relieved pain in 1799, but the first
use of ether as an anaesthetic took place in 1842. Chloroform, cocaine and Novocain were also
introduced as anaesthetics. This major step forward aided with advancing surgery as the patient
would not feel as much pain when having their body sliced

The meaning of being a mother is virtually endless, yet the Mirabal sisters are selfless protectors who put themselves on the front line of the rebellion, capable of being arrested, murdered or imprisoned at any time, in hope of a better future for their children. Not enough credit is given to how much they treasured each child, how deep their love was up to the point that they moved the world for them. Think about it again and you will see that they were fighting for every parent s child and are the fire that fuels our blood, the motivation that allowed us to achieve a safer and more stabilized civilization that our children live in ... As I began my internship at the middle school level, I had an expectation that middle school students would leisurely stroll through the library, check out books, and a media coordinator would assist students from multiple classrooms in doing research. I also envisioned the shelves would be filled with upper level chapter books and a large nonfiction section would prominently display books that support the various facets of the curriculum. This was not a fulfilled expectation. The current media coordinator is pulled for various duties outside of the role that would be described within her evaluation rubric. Testing encompasses many days within the school year. She acts as one of the testing coordinators and is responsible for not only administering tests, but also as coordinating placement of students and collecting materials. She also acts as the in school suspension teacher during part of the day, technology facilitator, and as a substitute for classes. Throughout her day, students and teachers constantly flow into the library for her to repair devices and troubleshoot programs. She also must cover classes during the day when teachers are pulled for meetings or other outside duties. One advantage of the role a media coordinator plays in the school, is that she assumes a leadership position and provides input in the school improvement plan and is involved in creating policies at the school level. On the performance and analysis of DNS security extensions The domain naming server plays a vital role in the internet as it is needed and is involved in every internet application. DNS now works well and it is also sometimes mentioned that any new changes added to the present DNS may contribute to interruption to its functionality and can also contribute towards additional complexity which is undesirable. Current networks and the future networks relay essentially on DNS and it is important that the DNS should be a secured one. The DNS can be easily attacked and such an attack can cause dire consequences so it specifies the importance to use a secured version of DNS to avoid such consequences. To employ such a version involves more cost.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Cost for increasing security to DNS varies depending on the kind of name server used. When the data is static then PK DNSSEC is suitable and when the data is dynamic, better option would be to consider SK DNSSEC. Caching resolvers computational cost is large in PK DNSSEC and non recursive servers computational cost is high in SK DNSSEC [2]. Hybrid approach is used to eliminate these computational costs. SK DNSEC cryptographic core contributes less to the total cost in producing symmetric certificates and thus a better performing efficient and fast cryptographic core can be used to improve the performance. If a new resolver is added or when existing root certificate becomes invalid then public key cryptography is used by the SK DNS. In these cases root server can take care of the load caused by valid requests whereas the root server enabled with SK DNSSEC is sensitive to reject of service attack. Security and performance both can be achieved by using hybrid approach. It can be used with PK DNSSEC for the top level domain of DNS tree and for SK DNSSEC for lower level domain of DNS tree. Size of the response packets of DNS are increased by producing higher network traffic and latency in PK DNSSEC. SK DNSSEC is considered to be a possible alternative for PK DNSSEC for few of the important reasons like key management is made easy with SK DNSSEC, smaller response packets which require small memory for caching. • 25. Funeral Decedent Essay If I owned a funeral home and a family entrusted me with the care and preparation of their loved one, I would add the decedent s vital and service information via the funeral home s website for guest. If the decedent was part of a veteran organization and a brief ceremony would be scheduled during visitation or service hours, the information would be published in a newspaper obituary or added to an online obituary for those wanting to attend. If the decedent was part of a fraternal organization and the family wished to have a non sectarian funeral service, which are similar to military funerals, the funeral director must be advised during arrangements. The family must provide the DD 214 form, so the funeral home is aware of the branch the decedent belonged to and could provide a U.S. flag to be draped over the casket during services. It becomes the funeral professional s responsibility to coordinate the participation of the various fraternal organizations in a funeral service (NACMS, p. 149). It is important for the funeral director to work with all the people involved during a veteran s organization funeral rite, including the clergy, post commander, and family, to make sure everything goes according to plan. In fact, in Saudi Arabia, women could not drive until late September of this year! Similarly, in Sylvia Plath s The Bell Jar, societal pressures push, the protagonist, Esther Greenwood to act in a particular way. Esther grows up in a small town and goes to New York for an internship for journalism. Through this opportunity she learns that she must act like an ideal woman of the time. Yet, she enjoys things that are out of the normality. This causes her to lose who she is and who she wants to become. In The Bell Jar, Plath reveals that strict women s standards may cause a loss of self. In the novel, women are upheld to a typical standard of how to act in public. For example, in the past and even in the twenty first century all over the world; women must dress a certain way. Using imagery Sylvia Plath describes how women have to look and act in society. Women ...had to wear hats and stockings and gloves to class (Plath 4). The author continues to say that the ladies who were out of school got jobs as secretaries. These secretaries are wandering around New York looking to marry to a man with money. The author illustrates how women have to dress and act a specific way which Esther did not conform with. Some mental causes for self harm are depression, anxiety, and mood disorders. Self harm is currently a major concern, and there have been many moves recently to combat it. Two of the more significant treatments developed that assist adolescents with their self harming behaviors are Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) (Laye Gindhu Schonert Reichl, 2005). They saw it as a remote area on the outskirts of the areas that they wanted to colonize. They went all around Colorado, forming New Mexico, fighting the Natives as they went. The government wanted the land for mining, but hey could have gone about it in a better way than opening fire on a group of innocent people. They might have seen this to be the easiest response, but the easiest solutions aren t always the correct path to take. They could have made a deal with the Indians to use their land, while they still lived on it, or for a small cut of the profits. This leaves less money for the government and big mining firms, but there would have been no causalities and the relationship between the Natives and the United States government and citizens would have been greatly ... • 42. Essay on Sigmund Freud s Ego Defense Mechanisms Sigmund Freud is perhaps one of the most well known theorists in regards to the study of the human psyche. Freud s model of the human psyche is comprised of three core elements: the Id, or the unconscious mind; things out of our awareness. The Superego, or the subconscious mind, and finally the Ego, which lies between the unconscious and subconscious. Freud proposes that there are nine ego defense mechanisms that act the ego uses in its job as the mediator between the id and the superego. In psychoanalysis, an ego defense mechanism is an unconscious personality reaction that the ego uses to protect our conscious mind from threatening feelings or perceptions. The ego defense mechanisms are as follows: denial, displacement, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... If I m planning to do something but something else comes up, I may try and rationalize the decision by putting down the other option weather is going to be bad , I didn t really want to do that anyway , or I can always go later . Another example is entertainment movies, music, or activities; I may not like a certain type of film or genre of music, but when American pop culture is rife with that type of music or movie, I ll try and rationalize my association with such things as everything in moderation or it s fine, as long as I don t indulge . Displacement is another defense mechanism I ve noticed. If I m having a bad day or if I m mad for one reason or another, I notice that I d often take it out on undeserving people. Often I would use an angry tone with someone if I d just been in an argument, as my anger has not yet subsided. As with everything, everything in moderation . I believe ego defense mechanisms are not completely unhealthy, and that using them to deal with some situations can prove to be beneficial in the development of our personality. However, if one relies primarily on ego defense mechanisms and refuses to deal with circumstances head on , they will develop problems later in life. In situations when one is undoubtedly guilty, it is impossible to rationalize or justify their actions or attitudes and hide behind unfounded explanations in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Film Black Orpheus and the Myth of Orpheus and Eurydice The story of Orpheus and Eurydice is one that has been passed down through generations for thousands of years. Almost every generation has heard a rendition of how Orpheus and Eurydice fall in love with one another and are eventually parted by death. I say rendition because this myth is passed on by word of mouth, which in return causes the story to change depending on the story teller . This may also have a great deal to do with the different interpretation people form about the story. Black Orpheus, directed by Marcel Camus in 1959, is an interpretation or modern rendition of the Greek myth, Orpheus and Eurydice. Although this film does not adapt the literal meaning of the ... Aristotle s Rhetorical Rhetoric On The Human Soul Aristotle s Rhetorical Rhetoric Aristotle, a famous philosopher, is one of the most renowned Greek scholars, and was an influential force in ancient Greece and in modern society. He was the head of the Macedon royal academy, where he taught Alexander the Great, his most famous pupil. He founded the famous Lyceum in Athens later in his life, which is portrayed in Raphael s painting School of Athens. Aristotle is known for his interest in nature and science, and his emphasis on empirical evidence to prove his points has become the keystone of modern scientific research. As a result, one of the topics he studied is the cause of human difference. He discusses in Book I of his series Politics the nature of the human soul and how different... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Such an egotistical belief is expressed when Aristotle describes how the soul rules the body with a despotical rule, whereas the intellect rules the appetites with a constitutional and royal rule (Aristotle, 5). By drawing a relationship between the intellect and fair rule, Aristotle appeals to the Greeks: if their form of government is truly the best, then Aristotle s vision of the model citizen must be as well. Similarly, Aristotle s descriptions of the superiority and inferiority of certain groups are also dependent on his familiarity with each group. Since Plato s Academy, which preached an elitist philosophy (Welch, Marshall and Billig, 10), was mostly male(Reeve), Aristotle ranks males over females, fathers over mothers, and husbands over wives. Similarly, Aristotle places masters over slaves as he was a free citizen living among other free citizens; by corollary of such an authority based dynamic, he also ranks natural rulers above subjects. Finally, as Aristotle had only lived in Greece before Politics was published, he had no personal exposure to the barbarian Persians, and thus stated that Hellenes, a term describing all Greeks unified together, were superior to the Persians (Biography.com). These explanations are not grounded in any sort of empirical evidence; rather, Aristotle classifies groups statuses ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
