The Importance Of Self Improvement And The Value Of Education
The importance of self improvement and the value of education
A person is not defined by their past and the mistakes that they have made. They are defined by
what obstacles they have gone through and overcome in order to grow into the person that they
are today. Without struggle, there is no progress. No one can self improve unless they are willing
and able to overcome the challenges of life. Two important morals in my life are : always making
the room to self improve, and valuing my education. Through my American story, I plan to share
how I learned to appreciate the meaning of education, and the importance of improving and
bettering myself. Guest presentations and readings of other American s narratives this
semester, such as the presentation by David Delizza, Gary Shtyengart s novel Super Sad True
Love Story, The Narrative of Frederick Douglass , and The chicken in the hen house by David
Sedaris, all have made a further emphasis on aspects relevant to my life and my own story as an
American. David Delizza, one of our guest speakers, provided excellent advice on the topics of
self improvement and education. In David s opinion, education and self improvement are
extremely important, and are two factors that have helped him to accomplish many goals in life.
When David was placed on academic probation in college due to his low GPA, his school asked
him to remove himself from the program. He said no and set out to prove them wrong. The
setbacks that David has faced in

Analysis Of The Initial Stages Of Thefacebook
In the initial stages of thefacebook, the site was limited to students of Harvard and within the
first month of the site s launch, slightly more than half of Harvard s undergraduate population
was registered on the site. Soon after the launching of thefacebook, Zuckerberg added new
members Dustin Moskovitz, Eduardo Saverin, Chris Hughes, and Andrew McCollum to his

would eventually find itself in need of hundreds of experts in programing, graphic design,
customer relations and P.R., marketing, accounting and finance, communications, gaming and
dozens of other specific fields. Facebook has grown from having one employee, Mark
Zuckerberg, to currently employing around 12,691 people full time. Dustin Moskovitz,
Zuckerberg s roommate and co founder, was another programmer who co founded Facebook

History of the Violin
History of the Violin
The most beautiful sounding violins in existence today were made in Italy in the early 1700s, a
period called the golden age of violin making. These instruments, especially those made by Antonio
Stradivari and Guarneri del GesГ№, are the most desired instruments by both collectors and
performers, selling for millions of dollars. Modern day violin makers have not been able to
successfully copy the techniques they used to produce the same quality sound of violins that was
made during this period. The violin produces sound by drawing a bow across one or more strings
which may be held down by the fingers of the other hand to produce a full range of pitches. The
violin is the smallest and highest pitched ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the course of his long career in the northern Italian town of Cremona, he created more than a
thousand stringed instruments; approximately 600 still survive. Many of Antonio Stradivari s
greatest instruments were made around his 70th birthday, which he celebrated in 1714. One of
the greatest Stradivarius violins is the Titian which he made in 1715. It was named the Titian
because its clear orange red color resembled the work of the famous Venetian painter. The Titian
has long been counted among Stradivari s finest golden period violins. It represents a blend of
the design, techniques, styles, and accumulated experience at the time of its making. The earliest
known owner was a French nobleman, the Comte D Every. In 1922 it was acquired by celebrated
violinist Efram Zimbalist who played it briefly. It is currently in the hands of soloist Cho Liang
Lin, who has performed with it since 2002. Antonio Stradivari died in 1737. There was an
economic slowdown around this time that badly affected the demand for violins. Whether it was
the low demand for violins at the time or his sons lack of ability or ambition, the family business
did not continue much longer after his death. His remaining inventory was sold to collectors, along
with his violin patterns and the tools that he used. Today, attempts to copy Stradivari s techniques
seem doomed to failure. Although his violins have been

Administrative Liability
Office of the Ombudsman v. Uldarico P. Andutan (G.R. No. 164679, 27 July 2011)
The Ombudsman argued in both the present petition and in the petition it filed with the CA that
Andutan s retirement from office does not render moot any administrative case, as long as he is
charged with an offense he committed while in office. It is irrelevant, according to the
Ombudsman, that Andutan had already resigned prior to the filing of the administrative case since
the operative fact that determines its jurisdiction is the commission of an offense while in the
public service.
The Ombudsman relies on Section VI(1) of Civil Service Commission Memorandum Circular No.
38 for this proposition, viz.:
Section VI.

Reyes Jr. v. Cristi (A.M. No. P 04 1801, 4 April 2004, 427 SCRA 8)
According to the OCA, the respondent s resignation does not render the case moot and academic,
nor deprive the Court of the authority to investigate the charges against him... The Court agrees
with the recommendation of the OCA. Indeed, the fact that the respondent had already resigned
from his position does not render the complaint against him moot and academic.
Office of the Court Administrator v. Juan (A.M. No. P 03 1726, 22 July 2004, 434 SCRA 654, 658)
Under Section 22, Rule IV of the Civil Service Rules, dishonesty and grave misconduct are grave
offenses punishable by dismissal from the service even if it is the first offense. Respondent s
resignation does not render the case moot. Resignation is not a way out to evade administrative
liability when court personnel are facing administrative sanction.

or some other similar cause does not per se warrant the dismissal of an administrative complaint

A leader is a person who inspires. He brings the best out of his people and they, in turn, follow him
in the realization of his goals. In other words, a true leader communicates his aspirations and
creates a shared passion for a common objective.
In order to be effective, a leader must first believe in his vision so as to be able to convey his
thoughts to others and consequently convince them of the importance of his idea. As a result, such
a leader can guide people with a firm hand and at the same time create resonance. Finally, empathy

BIOGRAPHY
Born on September 18, 1971 in Plano Texas, Lance Armstrong began his athletic career by taking
part at the age of 13 in athletic activities such as triathlon. When he turned 16, Lance focused on
cycling, what would later become his passion and point of recognition to the world. Four years
later Lance won the National Amateur Cycling Championship and in 1993 he won the Pro
Cycling Tour s Triple Crown, a major cycling event in the States. At the Olympic Games of 1996,
he suffered from fatigue and bronchitis disappointing his fans by finishing in the twelfth place. The
weariness he felt and the illnesses he suffered were justified later that year when he was diagnosed
with cancer. When the diagnosis was made, Lance was already at the third and final stage of
testicular cancer, where cancer had already spread in his lungs and brain. Five months after the
diagnosis Lance began training again and in 1998 he returned to racing, sponsored by the U.S.
Postal Service. During his two year absence, Lance created the Lance Armstrong Foundation. It was
trough the foundation that Lance met his future wife, Kristin Richard with which he has tree
children. In 1999, just three years after his treatment for cancer, Lance won the Tour de France,
leading the entire race and proving to the world his renewed capabilities. In 2001, Armstrong was
given a clean bill of health which meant that during

The Roman Senate house was empty. All but one of numerous candles had been blown out, and
sitting by this candle, was the Dictator of Rome, Julius Caesar. Caesar was sitting in his chair of
solid marble when the doors burst open, and there stood two figures hidden by the darkness of
midnight. One of the figures noticeably raised an arm, and for a moment, the world stood still.
The figure s hand slightly moved when suddenly a snap echoed through the room. Consequently,
fifty eight men sprinted in and stood by Caesar s side. The two figures who stood in the door
began to march forward with a skip in their step. As they neared closer to the candle light, Caesar
undoubtedly began to recognize some features of their faces, but could not pinpoint... Show more

Essay On Probable Cause
1. What is the standard legal definition of probable cause?
Probable cause is a requirement which can be found in the Fourteenth Amendment that must
usually be met before an arrest can be made, before being allowed to conduct a search, seize
property, and to receive a warrant which is related to the alleged crime. Probable cause is
considered a level of reasonable belief, probable cause must be based on facts and not an
assumption. In civil court, a person can be sued if they have probable cause, and in criminal court,
the defendant can be prosecuted or arrested if they also have probable cause. If the officer cannot
prove probable cause, unfortunately, the evidence then becomes inadmissible, and the evidence will
be thrown out.
2. What is the standard legal definition of reasonable suspicion?
Although reasonable suspicion is vaguely similar to probable case, they re very different.
Reasonable suspicion is less than probable cause. It allows police officers to briefly detain a ...

The two forms are preponderance of the evidence and proof beyond a reasonable doubt.
Preponderance is mostly used in civil court, whereas proof beyond a reasonable doubt is used in
criminal court. In civil court, the plaintiff must provide factual evidence regarding why he or she
is suing the defendant. In a criminal case, a higher standard of evidence is required, which is the
proof beyond a reasonable doubt. In most criminal cases the prosecutor must attempt to persuade
that the defendant, is, in fact, guilty of the charges brought against them. In criminal cases, the
evidence must be circumstantial and adequate enough to decide whether the person is guilty.

Gender and Movie Selection
Introduction:
A very diverse, broad, and extensive industry is the filmmaking industry. However, the unique
aspect of the industry is that it is so expansive in all of the different categories and types of
movies, but yet each film is individualized. A certain characteristic of a movie may appeal to one
person and not another. Such characteristics may not only appeal to an individual but to a certain
group of people. Could it be that characteristics of a film appeal to either the male gender or the
female gender? Is there a difference in the category of movie that a male chooses as opposed to
one that a female chooses? Such questions prove to be very interesting and ... Show more content on

During the observation, I observed ten males and ten females in the video section of Giant
Eagle at 7:00pm on a Friday night. All of the twenty subjects were of college age and appeared
to be at the store alone. I specially looked for the type of movie each person would select. By
doing this observation, I anticipated to see what people really choose. Since the subjects were
unaware that I was watching them, they had no pressure to select a certain type of movie and
could chose freely. In other ways of collecting data such as a survey or interview, people may be
reluctant to be honest about some details. Through observation, there were no doubts if the subject
was being dishonest because they freely chose the movie without even realizing I was watching
them.
A second route that I chose to collect data was to administer a survey to ten college age people.
Of these ten people, five of them were females and five of them were males. The survey was given
to these people while they were in their college dorm rooms. There were six questions on the
survey, including a gender question, how many movies does the subject watch in an average month,
and what are these movies classified as, adventure or romance/romantic comedy. The final two
questions dealt with who the subject mostly watches movies with and if they normally get to

The Fifth And Final Leadership Challenge
Leadership Challenge Five
Summary
The fifth and final leadership challenge is an inspirational message to readers who learn how to
Encourage the Heart of their followers. Kouzes Posner (2012) explain that, to further develop a
highly effective team, leaders must recognize contributions by showing appreciation for individual
excellence, and celebrate the values and victories by creating a spirit of community (p. 272). The
importance of a highly motivated team who feels appreciated should not be understated, and is an
integral aspect of organizational leadership. Kouzes Posner explain that to keep hope and
determination alive, leaders recognize contributions that individuals make. In every winning team,
the members need to share in the rewards of their efforts, so leaders celebrate accomplishments.
They make people feel like heroes (Kouzes Posner, 2016, about sec).
Recognizing the contributions of others requires leaders to expect the best from their team. When
leaders set the tone of high expectations the organization takes on an efficacious culture where
excellence is the established norm. A self fulfilling prophecy of high expectations envelopes the
group as a whole. Kouzes Posner write that Exemplary Leaders elicit high performance because
they strongly believe in the abilities of their constituents to achieve even the most challenging goals
(p. 276).
Belief in the efficacy of others as a stand alone attribute is only a half measure. Kouzes Posner

Research Paper On Chromatography
Chromatography media selection
By Catherine Shaffer M.Sc.
Chromatography is a technique for separation of mixtures. The name combines the greek chroma,
or color, with graphein, to write. The technique was invented in 1900 by Mikhail Tsvet, who used
it to write the colors of plant pigments like chlorophyll carotenes, and xanthophylls. He did that by
dissolving the plant mixtures in a fluid, or mobile phase, and allowing it to flow through a solid
material called a stationary phase. The components of the mixture flow through the stationary phase
material at different rates, creating waves or bands. Originally, those bands were detected by
visible color differences. Detection methods are now based on the chemical and physical properties
of the molecules being separated, including but not limited to color, UV absorbance, size, charge,
and hydrophobicity.
In modern chromatographic separations, the stationary phase comes in the form of media, either
pre packed in a chromatography column, or added by the user to the separation apparatus. The
choice of media depends on the type of molecule being separated, the means of separation, the
purpose and scale of separation, and the desired purity of the separated sample.
Generally, the material used in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

or middle school can benefit from using social media. Kids in high school should definitely be
able to access social media and will benefit from it because it can help them fit in. If all the kids
in the school are active on social media, they support each other in friendship. It lets every kid be
a part of things. Social media can be a great way to connect with others, friends old and new.
Kids can even ask teachers questions. Another reason why social media is good for kids is that it
keeps them up to date on the news. Every time I go on Facebook, I see news events from around
the world. I also hear about things happening in my community. For example,

Correctional Environment And Prison System Analysis
Correctional environment, jails, and prison are facilities in which inmates are confined while being
denied several rights and freedom as authorized by the States laws and regulations. Individual
charged with criminal activities are forcibly confined in these facilities as a means of punishment.
Since, the offender are humans with fundamental human rights as well, they need security and thus
should be protected against insecure circumstances that may harm them (Maryland Maryland,
2013).
To effectively avoid prison breaks and other security threats in prison, jails and other correctional
centers, the facilities are generally fitted with either electric fence or tall walls, walls, and other
geographical features to prevent escape. The main ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Weapons and Non Permitted Devices is a mobile scanner device that assist prison guards in
detecting makeshift weapons those violent inmates could use to harm colleagues. Another device is
the Pharma Jet, which is needle free injection system that works best in immunizing and medicating
sick inmates. This makes the prison health care system safer for doctors and the prison guards
(Dikkers, Reeder, United States, Center for Building Technology, 1987).
The Correctional Biometric Management system is new technology that new inmates are put
through. The system can detect the inmates using the retina of the eye and the fingerprints. This
identification system has helped in identifying escaped inmates. The fingerprints unlocking of
gates, doors, cabinet, and cells have also improved the security of the correctional facilities
(Dikkers, Reeder, United States, Center for Building Technology, 1987).
The CCTV camera and the Radiofrequency identification tracking have also made it possible for
prison guards to manage remotely and control the cells. This has improved the security of the prison
guards by keeping them away from violent inmates (Dikkers, Reeder, United States, Center for

Environmental Consequences Of Offshore Oil Drilling
Offshore oil drilling is a controversial topic because when oil spills, it does extensive amounts
of damage to the environment. Countries capable of mining oil in the ocean reap the economic
benefits in addition to reducing their dependency on external oil. While it is uncontroversial that
offshore drilling is a massive boon for those countries, the environmental consequences of a spill
also affect the economic welfare of nearby residents. Oil contaminates animals through a process
called biomagnification, where chemicals progressively become more detrimental to the animals
the higher they are on the food chain. When oil spills into the ocean, it impairs the growth of
native species and deteriorates the ecosystem. As a result, the livelihood of people in the tourist
industry, fisherman, and shrimpers is crippled and may take decades to recover. Presuming that a
country has a coast it can use for drilling, excavating oil from depths of up to a mile is nowhere
near effortless. In addition to common oilrig accidents, fires and spills, there are a plethora of
problems that oil riggers can encounter including severe weather storms (like hurricanes) and
inexperience in the remote oceans depths. Oilrigs are being used even deeper in the ocean creating
new environmental and engineering problems. Dr. Joseph A. Pratt of the University of Houston,
highlights the problems riggers encountered when drilling for oil in the Canadian sector of the
Beaufort Sea; conditions were

Rhetorical Devices In A More Perfect Union By Barack Obama
In the 2008 United States presidential election between Barack Obama vs John McCain, Obama
s pastor mentioned several controversial and offensive remarks. These statements brought
negative publicity for Obama because of his connection towards Reverend Jeremiah Wright, he
was Obama s aforementioned pastor. With his following severely decreasing because of this,
Obama had to find a way to regain his supporters by writing the powerful speech, A More Perfect
Union in which he uses a variety of rhetorical devices such as parallelism, a paradox, hyperbole,
and allusions to the past history of the United States. The use of these devices in this speech create a
strong argument of his intentions as president, his views on racism and the issues society... Show

There is a vast difference of cultures in American society and schools and Obama s goals with
using parallelism was to touch the hearts of every race with how the public schooling system is
failing these children. We want to talk about the crumbling schools that are stealing the future of
black children, and white children, and Asian children, and Hispanic children, and Native
American children. He not only acknowledges the races of these children but how poor the
school system is. The use of parallelism in this helps create a stronger argument because he
shows he s not oblivious to the variety of cultures in America which feeds into the belief that
America is home of the free and accepts anyone regardless of race, gender, and religious beliefs.
Not only does he use parallelism, he also uses a hyperbole by exaggerating the fact that students
futures are being stolen from them with poor education. This is a hyperbole because the public
schooling system isn t actually stealing the futures of these children, but he uses this rhetorical
strategy to amplify the emotion and relevance of the issues with the public school system. These
rhetorical strategies are effective because of the reaction he can get from the audience. He
reminds society of the issues in every day American life, and what he d wish to do to fix these
issues. He wishes to share the same common beliefs and desires of the common man by focusing
on the issues the common man faces day to day. Parallelism and hyperboles are strong strategies to
use because of the realization and emotions it gives the audience. Obama uses these strategies to
bring in the audience and build a strong relationship between him and the audience with this

The attack on Pearl Harbor was a horrific event that will live on in the hearts and minds of
Americans forever. Even though they were in tragic mourning Americans stood together proudly
in their time of crisis. Japans plan was to decimate the Pacific Fleet. The Japanese put that plan
into action of December 7, 1941. The Japanese surprise attack on Pearl harbor was the result of
several factors and led to many casualties as well as the United States entering The second World
War.
The United States relationship with Japan had been slowly crumbling for quite some time before
the attack. The Japanese government declared war on China in an attempt to fix its economic and
demographic dilemma. They decided to take territory in their brother country and control their
imports. Even though the American government had refused to provoke the Japanese, they favored
the Chinese in the Sino Japanese war. America hoped to reach a peaceful

Walmart Case Definition of Main Problem: There can be no argument that Wal*Mart has
revolutionized the discount retailing industry. Furthermore, CEO Glass and COO Soderquist have
stepped in at the helm of this company and continued to take it in the right direction by
quadrupling sales and profits from 1987 to 1993. The main problem they now face is how to
sustain their phenomenal performance, and becoming number one has magnified this issue. No
longer can they just sneak into small towns where the only competition is the local merchant s
shop. No longer can they copy larger companies like Sears and J.C. Penny s because of their size

Though supplier power is high in the retail discounting industry, Wal*Mart changed the game with
their two step hub and spoke distribution network. Though building 1,000,000 square foot
distribution centers seems costly, it allows Wal*Mart to purchase from their suppliers at a
significantly reduced cost and deliver to their stores with 48 hours, sometimes even 24 hours. The
network s become so effective that 80% of their inventory comes directly from these 27 centers. In
contrast, Kmart has only 50% of their products coming from distribution centers with a full half
being shipped directly from suppliers into their stores, thus raising costs to Kmart and their
customers. Systems such as cross docking are also aiding Wal*Mart in their fight to streamline
every process by reducing inventory and restocking costs. Another decision that demonstrates
Wal*Mart s commitment to the future is their unyielding emphasis on superior information
technology. Beginning in 1983 and standard by 1988, electronic scanning of Uniform Product
Codes was installed in Wal*Mart stores. This and similar programs were effective in ensuring
accurate pricing and reducing shrinkage, yet Kmart recognized its importance as well, and by 1990,
had similar systems in place in its stores as well. Secondly, a $700 million investment in satellite
systems made communication between headquarters, distribution centers, and stores much more
effective. With this in place, sales data

The Setting in Great Expectations Essay
The Setting in Great Expectations The settings of Great Expectations have an important bearing on
the storyline; the settings also echo the characters in personality and circumstance. The theme of
the book seems to run parallel with the settings in some respects, such as the plain but wholesome
life style of Rochester and the beckoning but ultimately shallow habitat of London. Throughout the
book comparisons and relationships between story and setting are made, many subtle and not
evident unless reflected upon. The setting from the start of the book is very important, from the
bleak and stereotypical graveyard that give the book a starting tense and exiting mood, and the

Pip begins to realise that the dull Rochester is not able to accommodate his hunger for wisdom.
At this point Pip sees that to become noble and well educated was what he yearned for and a
want to be in better circumstances made a need for a better setting becomes apparent and a large
part of the story. I think I might have had some faint doubts whether it was not really rather ugly
and crooked… as Pip enters London what he sees is a little of a disappointment to him, not
the gleaming metropolis he had wished for, and this becomes very clear as he enters little Briton
where Jaggers office is located. From Pip arriving at London the settings seem a little of a let
down; Barnards Inn seems quite disappointment for Pip but the emphasis is taken away from
this point a little by the arrival of Herbert Pocket. The settings of London s escapades for Pip are
an omen for the ultimate futility of his expectations. The way in which Dickens portrays London
is a reflection of his real feelings about the city, and in the book London seems to be projected as
an epicentre of dirt and filth; not quite the peachy visions that Pip had about the city and in
particular the references to Negate seem to point out that some of London is both

Thomas White and Todd McCormack founded Partners in Health (PIH).1 Since its meager
beginnings, PIH has evolved to serve some 2.5 Million people throughout ten different countries.2
However, throughout the organizations grand transformation from a makeshift clinic in Haiti to

true to their mission to provide advance medical treatment for those most in need through strategic

Growing up Paul Farmer was surrounded by poverty and a fair amount of everyday difficulty.4
Rather than being limited by his childhood circumstance, Farmer thrived and earned a full

of Haiti. Following graduation, Farmer went to Haiti to better understand the culture of the country
he had become so interested in. While working at an eye clinic he met future co founder of Partners

During his search of the country of Haiti, Farmer became convinced that something needed to be
done about the lack of health care being provided to the poor.4 Upon visiting Cange, Farmer
decided that was where he would like to start a clinic for those most in need. In 1984, Farmer

The Boston Tea party helped repeal tax on tea and made a stand on the British. But was it

was it necessary, who and how it was organized, what effects did it have on the British East India

The British taxed American colonist on many things, including sugar, paper, lead, and paint. But

ordinary world. She wants a life of adventure but does not know how to go about this. Then there
is that call to Adventure. I believe that Clyde would be Bonnie s call. He is young, fit,
charismatic. He falls in her sexual range. But Bonnie wants a dangerous man. You just have to
look at her husband to know she wants a bad boy. Clyde has all of that, seeing as that he was in jail,
and was still a thief. He also carried a gun. This was alluring to Bonnie. There is not much of a
refusal of the call. She is lured right away. She does learn some about him but still ends up
running away with him. Then you have meeting the mentor. The mentor in this story would also
have to be Clyde. He has experience is being a thief and a criminal. He knows how to use a gun
in which he teaches Bonnie. He also shows her how to pull off a robbery. There then is crossing
the threshold from where there is no return. Bonnie crosses this threshold as soon as she runs
away with Clyde and crosses from staying within the law and becomes an outlaw. She commits
herself to a life of crime. There are tests that Bonnie has to undergo. She has to learn to be cool
during robberies, car chases, and being shot at. She recruits C.W. who becomes part of her gang.
She also has to be contend with the enemies she gains which fall from the law enforcement to
Blanche. Then we come to the approach to the inmost cave. With this it is the reference to their
inevitable death. Which would be violent. And we see Bonnie handle this with acceptance. After
we see the ordeal. It is the fill arc of Bonnies crime. It was fun in the beginning then it becomes

Improving service quality to meet customers standards is an ongoing part of doing business. In this
way, customers drive the market and the organization. At the same time that organizations act to
attract and satisfy customers, the customers themselves exercise ultimate influence. Their
satisfaction depends on both their expectations and their treatment. Through their choices,
customers decide which organizations survive and thrive, determine what goods and services are
available, and shape how they are provided. In addition to using their purchasing power, informed
consumers can shape the marketplace by communicating their preferences and standards to
organizations that are poised to listen and respond.
Contents of This Paper
For both service providers and consumers, making customer satisfaction a priority involves a
fundamental shift in thinking, organizing and acting. The customer satisfaction framework
proposed in this paper explores the potential of a customer satisfaction orientation as a means for
improving the goods and services, including those provided by the public sector, available to
residents of tough neighborhoods. This paper describes the ideas and research underlying the
framework and potential strategies for moving from concepts to action.

The Symptoms Of Taking Rap Music
Ajay Nadhavajhala
Mr. Shimazaki
Am Lit P.3
April 9, 2015
The Symptoms of Taking Rap Music Music is one of the greatest ways of expressing one s
personal feelings and experiences through the use of story telling. One of the most popular genres
of music is rap or also known as hip hop. Hip hop music has a profound effect, both positive and
negative on many of today s youth which transforms and evolves American culture and society.
What started it all was the origin of gangsta rap , which was popularized by gangster rappers such
as Tupac Shakur, Notorious BIG, Ma$e, Snoop Dogg, and Scarface. These were all rappers who
influenced American culture and made the genre of rap and hip hop more mainstream which
captivated many listeners not only on a local level, but on an international level. However, some
of the lyrics that were stated were not only meaningful, but sometimes controversial in the eye of
the general public. Nonetheless, hip hop music has always had an influence on many
generations and their shaping of what we know today of the modern American society and
culture. Early 90 s rap music had a negative influence on American society due to the vulgar acts
and explicit language that was used to describe stories and other elements of rap. In the late
1980 s and early 1990 s, hip hop only had one tag to itself gangster rap. Gangster rap was rap music
that described the life of a gangster and a criminal who would have done things such as murder or
do drugs. In one

and coding career choices.
PHYSICIAN S OFFICE
Medical billers and coders who work in a physician s office, deal with outpatient services. Private
physicians have their billing services sent out to insurance companies, patients, or other government
healthcare agencies. Small offices employ a small staff that comply with government guidelines.
Clinical staff work closely together to maintain a professional atmosphere on a day to day basis.

A coder looks up codes in a CDT 5 (Current Dental Terminology 5th Edition) just as a medical
coder uses a CPT (Current Procedural Terminology) guide book. Dental coders can find
procedure codes in the HCPCS Level II book as well. The guidelines are pretty much the same for
billers and coders in the dental field versus the medical field. Every examination, procedure, and
surgery must have preauthorization from a third party payer, so the appropriate code can be
submitted.
RADIOLOGY BILLING SERVICES Coders choosing the Radiology field must be knowledgeable
with CPT codes and modifiers. Here are a few services that fall under Radiology: CAT Scans, X
Ray of different Internal Organs, and Nuclear Medicine for Limiting and Curing Internal Disorders.
It is very important to be efficient when applying the correct CPT codes. Coders and billers are
highly trained to be as accurate as possible. CONTRACT REMOTE INPATIENT CODER
In the hospital setting, there are numerous job opportunities for a biller and coder to choose from.
For instance, a contract remote inpatient coder must be able to accurately assign diagnoses and
procedure codes. To name a few, here are some of the qualifications a coder must have: one year
of inpatient coding experience, five years working in the medical field, knowledge of

Introduction Of Group Analysis Paper
A group consists of two or more people who interact with each other and share a common
purpose. A group consists of individuals who work independently and are led by a strong
focused individual. A group that I participate in is Bochasanwasi Akshar Purushottam Sanstha
(BAPS) Swaminarayan youth group. BAPS is a worldwide religious and civic organization
within the Swaminarayan branch of Hinduism. BAPS was established as a formal organization
on 5 June 1907 by Shastriji Maharaj. It was formed on the founder s doctrinal stand that
Swaminarayan had promised to remain manifest in the person of Akshar, a term used to describe
his chief devotee and Swaminarayan s abode. From the age of 5 to 21, I have been an active

Our strengths include the internalization of culture which is embracing the values, norms,
language, beliefs, and symbols set forth by the founders of BAPS. Another strength is the ethnic
and cultural similarities that are shared among all group members. The support that is received by
those in higher positions is another major strength, which also leads to high levels of satisfaction to
those involved in the youth groups. However, one of our major weaknesses and challenges is the
lack of diversity seen in the members. Heterogeneous groups perform better on more difficult,
complex tasks. The diversity of heterogeneous groups, stimulates

Private Property In John Locke s Second Treatise Of Society
Society can be structured in many ways. A good society requires mutual consent amongst its
members, and private property is at the root of earning this consent. In John Locke s Second
Treatise of Government, private property defines man as an individual, forces him into a society,
and is his instrument in achieving justice. It explains how man goes from existing in a state of
nature to participation in a social contract. Aristotle s Politics is concerned with how private
propertyis closely connected to the virtue of a city and the pursuit of a good life. Thomas More s
Utopiasatirizes the ideal city because it completely abolishes private property. The author argues
that this is possible in a far fetched city, but it cannot bring order to a city that is already
established. From these three works, it is evident that private property is essential to the proper
organization of a city because it allows for individuality and development of the virtues. It is
important that labor be involved in the claiming of private property. Locke believes the earth is
common property until a person exerts his or her activity on it (18 20). It eliminates any doubt or
quarreling over who has a right to what property (Locke 27). Since it is labor indeed that puts the
difference of value on everything, people are set apart by the amount of unique effort they exert to
obtain their property. This proves man is perfectly his own and does not belong in common to
others (Locke 29). Rather than

Austins Theory of Sovereignty
John Austin, in his Lectures on Jurisprudence writes : The notion of sovereignty and
independent political society may be expressed concisely thus : If a determinate human superior
not in a habit of obedience to a like superior, receives habitual obedience from the bulk of a given
society, that determinate superior is sovereign in that society: and the society (including the
superior) is a society political and independent . Laws are defined simply as the command of a
superior to an inferior. In Austin s words : Law is the aggregate of rules set by men as politically
superior, or sovereign, to men as political subject . The chief reason for the bulk of a given society
rendering habitual obedience to a determinate human superior is the... Show more content on

Only a determinate person or body of persons can be sovereign: It means that sovereignty cannot
belong to the general will, as Rousseau said, or to the people or to the public opinion, as it is said
by the advocates of popular sovereignty, or to any superhuman being as is the Islamic view. It
belongs to a determinate human superior, i.e., a definite person or body of persons.
2. The power of the sovereign is legally unlimited or absolute, because the laws which he makes
are obeyed by all, while he himself does not obey any law. Hence there can be no limit to his power.
He makes his own limits. Legally speaking the sovereign is all mighty.
Sovereignty is indivisible: If sovereignty is divided by law between two or more persons or
bodies of persons, then one of the two things would happen. Either one of them will limit the
authority of the other, and thus become the real sovereign, or any other person in a body of
MONIST AND PLURALIST THEORIES OF SOVEREIGNTY. Person who has legally limited the
authority of the others would become the real sovereign. It means, therefore, that sovereignty may
be formally distributed, but cannot be really divided. This is the case in a federal State.
3. State is such a society which is organized by rule and obedience. A law is a command calling
for obedience. State exists only when there is sovereignty and subjection or obedience to the law
or command of the sovereign. Sovereignty is as necessary in the State as

Introduction
I posit to you that engineering is the noble pursuit to sustain human life and therefore is inherently
an anthropological endeavour and humanistic effort to nurture humanity and manifest its glory.
Were we to give rise to the classical connotations engineering carries of cold and pure problem
solving uninterested in issues of the humanities indeed it would betray the magnitude of our
existence as a species. It is this very facet that has brought us to the magnificence this day. Now with
encroaching issues of globalization, and its accompanying ramifications, our contemporaries face a
whole new plethora of delicate issues entwined deeply within notions of humanism. We must face
the ramifications of our self endowed Anthropocene epoch and address issues of sustainability and
global warming within the context of an exponentially growing population and unprecedented
demand for energy, food, raw resources and materials, waste disposal energy, land, water,
transportation, earth moving, health care, environmental cleanup, infrastructure and
(tele)communication. Though when regarding the engineering profession what s most interesting
is that it is this very humanist perspective, and the humanitarian work it elicits, that has somewhat
paradoxically perturbed our planet and placed us in

Discussion Of The Synthesis Of Negatively Charged Anions
Lab #1
1)This compound is ionic because it did not melt when it was heated. Consequently, this indicates
that the compound must have an extremely high melting point, which is one of the characteristics
of ionic compounds due to the highly strong electrostatic force of attraction between positively
charged cations and negatively charged anions (that is, these forces of attraction are so strong that
it requires a large quantity of energy in order for the bonds to be broken). Furthermore, this
compound was highly soluble in water, which is another property of ionic compounds, as when
they dissolve, the ions dissociate and attach themselves to the polar ends of water molecules
(cations are attracted to the localized negative poles of the oxygen atoms; anions are attracted to the
localized positive poles of the hydrogen atoms). Finally, the last indicator that the compound is
ionic is that the compound was an electrolyte; that is, the compound was able to conduct electricity
due to the ions present within the solution, which move towards the oppositely ... Show more

It becomes evident that the compound involves non polar molecules because the compound also
did not dissolve in water. Consequently, the compound was unable to conduct electricity, as the
compound was insoluble and did not contain ions, and it was unable to dissolve and form dipole
dipole interactions with the polar water molecules. Thus, this indicates that the compound must be
non polar, as the only forces of attraction between molecules are the London dispersion forces, as
the compound either only contains non covalent bonds and/or is symmetrical. This assumption can
be corroborated due to the low melting point of the compound and subsequently, the very weak
intermolecular

Computers Are Capable Of Amazing Things Essay
Mainframes and supercomputers are incredible pieces of technology that are capable of amazing
things. A mainframe is capable of handling a large quantity of data in a short period of time while
a supercomputer is capable of solving complex scientific calculations. Both the mainframes and the
supercomputers have a lot to offer and they are capable of great things.
A supercomputer can perform some incredible functions. Scientific research and simulation are two
of the great functions, which interconnect with each other, for which supercomputers are used. It is
normal to hear talk or read about supercomputers as state of the art machines, giants capable of
developing tasks that would otherwise be impossible. When a new model that exceeds in power to
the rest of the existent publishes figures of its performance, the tens of thousands of processors that
it contains or the hundreds of thousands of cores that form it stand out. All this disproportionate
hardware has a purpose.
Currently, a supercomputer is tens of thousands of times faster than an average desktop computer.
Parallel processing of information achieves impressive speeds, allowing a computing power
needed to address some of today s biggest scientific doubts and problems. Actually they are
machines formed by the same components that we find in a computer, however, these have been
integrated in such a way that they can work in coordination and at the same time. Today, the world
s fastest supercomputer is the Tianhe 2,

  • 2. The Importance Of Self Improvement And The Value Of Education The importance of self improvement and the value of education A person is not defined by their past and the mistakes that they have made. They are defined by what obstacles they have gone through and overcome in order to grow into the person that they are today. Without struggle, there is no progress. No one can self improve unless they are willing and able to overcome the challenges of life. Two important morals in my life are : always making the room to self improve, and valuing my education. Through my American story, I plan to share how I learned to appreciate the meaning of education, and the importance of improving and bettering myself. Guest presentations and readings of other American s narratives this semester, such as the presentation by David Delizza, Gary Shtyengart s novel Super Sad True Love Story, The Narrative of Frederick Douglass , and The chicken in the hen house by David Sedaris, all have made a further emphasis on aspects relevant to my life and my own story as an American. David Delizza, one of our guest speakers, provided excellent advice on the topics of self improvement and education. In David s opinion, education and self improvement are extremely important, and are two factors that have helped him to accomplish many goals in life. When David was placed on academic probation in college due to his low GPA, his school asked him to remove himself from the program. He said no and set out to prove them wrong. The setbacks that David has faced in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Analysis Of The Initial Stages Of Thefacebook In the initial stages of thefacebook, the site was limited to students of Harvard and within the first month of the site s launch, slightly more than half of Harvard s undergraduate population was registered on the site. Soon after the launching of thefacebook, Zuckerberg added new members Dustin Moskovitz, Eduardo Saverin, Chris Hughes, and Andrew McCollum to his team, but as the company quickly expanded, more team members were added. The company would eventually find itself in need of hundreds of experts in programing, graphic design, customer relations and P.R., marketing, accounting and finance, communications, gaming and dozens of other specific fields. Facebook has grown from having one employee, Mark Zuckerberg, to currently employing around 12,691 people full time. Dustin Moskovitz, Zuckerberg s roommate and co founder, was another programmer who co founded Facebook with Zuckerberg but later left the company in 2008 to cofound Asana and in 2011 was reported by Forbes Magazine to be the youngest self made billionaire in history because of his 2.34% share in Facebook. • 6. History of the Violin History of the Violin The most beautiful sounding violins in existence today were made in Italy in the early 1700s, a period called the golden age of violin making. These instruments, especially those made by Antonio Stradivari and Guarneri del GesГ№, are the most desired instruments by both collectors and performers, selling for millions of dollars. Modern day violin makers have not been able to successfully copy the techniques they used to produce the same quality sound of violins that was made during this period. The violin produces sound by drawing a bow across one or more strings which may be held down by the fingers of the other hand to produce a full range of pitches. The violin is the smallest and highest pitched ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the course of his long career in the northern Italian town of Cremona, he created more than a thousand stringed instruments; approximately 600 still survive. Many of Antonio Stradivari s greatest instruments were made around his 70th birthday, which he celebrated in 1714. One of the greatest Stradivarius violins is the Titian which he made in 1715. It was named the Titian because its clear orange red color resembled the work of the famous Venetian painter. The Titian has long been counted among Stradivari s finest golden period violins. It represents a blend of the design, techniques, styles, and accumulated experience at the time of its making. The earliest known owner was a French nobleman, the Comte D Every. In 1922 it was acquired by celebrated violinist Efram Zimbalist who played it briefly. It is currently in the hands of soloist Cho Liang Lin, who has performed with it since 2002. Antonio Stradivari died in 1737. There was an economic slowdown around this time that badly affected the demand for violins. Whether it was the low demand for violins at the time or his sons lack of ability or ambition, the family business did not continue much longer after his death. His remaining inventory was sold to collectors, along with his violin patterns and the tools that he used. Today, attempts to copy Stradivari s techniques seem doomed to failure. • 7. Administrative Liability Office of the Ombudsman v. Uldarico P. Andutan (G.R. No. 164679, 27 July 2011) The Ombudsman argued in both the present petition and in the petition it filed with the CA that Andutan s retirement from office does not render moot any administrative case, as long as he is charged with an offense he committed while in office. It is irrelevant, according to the Ombudsman, that Andutan had already resigned prior to the filing of the administrative case since the operative fact that determines its jurisdiction is the commission of an offense while in the public service. The Ombudsman relies on Section VI(1) of Civil Service Commission Memorandum Circular No. 38 for this proposition, viz.: Section VI. 1. x x x An officer or ... No. P 04 1801, 4 April 2004, 427 SCRA 8) According to the OCA, the respondent s resignation does not render the case moot and academic, nor deprive the Court of the authority to investigate the charges against him... The Court agrees with the recommendation of the OCA. Indeed, the fact that the respondent had already resigned from his position does not render the complaint against him moot and academic. Office of the Court Administrator v. Juan (A.M. Respondent s resignation does not render the case moot. Resignation is not a way out to evade administrative liability when court personnel are facing administrative sanction. Secretary of Justice v. Abiera) the cessation from office of a respondent Judge either because of resignation, retirement or some other similar cause does not per se warrant the dismissal of an administrative complaint which was filed against him while ... In other words, a true leader communicates his aspirations and creates a shared passion for a common objective. In order to be effective, a leader must first believe in his vision so as to be able to convey his thoughts to others and consequently convince them of the importance of his idea. BIOGRAPHY Born on September 18, 1971 in Plano Texas, Lance Armstrong began his athletic career by taking part at the age of 13 in athletic activities such as triathlon. When he turned 16, Lance focused on cycling, what would later become his passion and point of recognition to the world. Four years later Lance won the National Amateur Cycling Championship and in 1993 he won the Pro Cycling Tour s Triple Crown, a major cycling event in the States. At the Olympic Games of 1996, he suffered from fatigue and bronchitis disappointing his fans by finishing in the twelfth place. The weariness he felt and the illnesses he suffered were justified later that year when he was diagnosed with cancer. When the diagnosis was made, Lance was already at the third and final stage of testicular cancer, where cancer had already spread in his lungs and brain. Five months after the diagnosis Lance began training again and in 1998 he returned to racing, sponsored by the U.S. Postal Service. During his two year absence, Lance created the Lance Armstrong Foundation. It was trough the foundation that Lance met his future wife, Kristin Richard with which he has tree children. In 1999, just three years after his treatment for cancer, Lance won the Tour de France, leading the entire race and proving to the world his renewed capabilities. One of the figures noticeably raised an arm, and for a moment, the world stood still. The figure s hand slightly moved when suddenly a snap echoed through the room. Consequently, fifty eight men sprinted in and stood by Caesar s side. The two figures who stood in the door began to march forward with a skip in their step. • 12. Essay On Probable Cause 1. What is the standard legal definition of probable cause? Probable cause is a requirement which can be found in the Fourteenth Amendment that must usually be met before an arrest can be made, before being allowed to conduct a search, seize property, and to receive a warrant which is related to the alleged crime. Probable cause is considered a level of reasonable belief, probable cause must be based on facts and not an assumption. In civil court, a person can be sued if they have probable cause, and in criminal court, the defendant can be prosecuted or arrested if they also have probable cause. If the officer cannot prove probable cause, unfortunately, the evidence then becomes inadmissible, and the evidence will be thrown out. 2. In most criminal cases the prosecutor must attempt to persuade that the defendant, is, in fact, guilty of the charges brought against them. In criminal cases, the evidence must be circumstantial and adequate enough to decide whether the person is guilty. Which is where the term proof beyond a reasonable doubt derives from. However, the unique aspect of the industry is that it is so expansive in all of the different categories and types of movies, but yet each film is individualized. A certain characteristic of a movie may appeal to one person and not another. Such characteristics may not only appeal to an individual but to a certain group of people. Could it be that characteristics of a film appeal to either the male gender or the female gender? All of the twenty subjects were of college age and appeared to be at the store alone. I specially looked for the type of movie each person would select. By doing this observation, I anticipated to see what people really choose. Since the subjects were unaware that I was watching them, they had no pressure to select a certain type of movie and could chose freely. In other ways of collecting data such as a survey or interview, people may be reluctant to be honest about some details. Through observation, there were no doubts if the subject was being dishonest because they freely chose the movie without even realizing I was watching them. A second route that I chose to collect data was to administer a survey to ten college age people. Of these ten people, five of them were females and five of them were males. The survey was given to these people while they were in their college dorm rooms. There were six questions on the survey, including a gender question, how many movies does the subject watch in an average month, and what are these movies classified as, adventure or romance/romantic comedy. The final two questions dealt with who the subject mostly watches movies with and if they normally get to choose the movie when watching one ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 20. Research Paper On Chromatography Chromatography media selection By Catherine Shaffer M.Sc. Chromatography is a technique for separation of mixtures. The name combines the greek chroma, or color, with graphein, to write. The technique was invented in 1900 by Mikhail Tsvet, who used it to write the colors of plant pigments like chlorophyll carotenes, and xanthophylls. He did that by dissolving the plant mixtures in a fluid, or mobile phase, and allowing it to flow through a solid material called a stationary phase. The components of the mixture flow through the stationary phase material at different rates, creating waves or bands. Originally, those bands were detected by visible color differences. Detection methods are now based on the chemical and physical properties of the molecules being separated, including but not limited to color, UV absorbance, size, charge, and hydrophobicity. In modern chromatographic separations, the stationary phase comes in the form of media, either pre packed in a chromatography column, or added by the user to the separation apparatus. The choice of media depends on the type of molecule being separated, the means of separation, the purpose and scale of separation, and the desired purity of the separated sample. • 24. Environmental Consequences Of Offshore Oil Drilling Offshore oil drilling is a controversial topic because when oil spills, it does extensive amounts of damage to the environment. Countries capable of mining oil in the ocean reap the economic benefits in addition to reducing their dependency on external oil. While it is uncontroversial that offshore drilling is a massive boon for those countries, the environmental consequences of a spill also affect the economic welfare of nearby residents. Oil contaminates animals through a process called biomagnification, where chemicals progressively become more detrimental to the animals the higher they are on the food chain. When oil spills into the ocean, it impairs the growth of native species and deteriorates the ecosystem. As a result, the livelihood of people in the tourist industry, fisherman, and shrimpers is crippled and may take decades to recover. Presuming that a country has a coast it can use for drilling, excavating oil from depths of up to a mile is nowhere near effortless. In addition to common oilrig accidents, fires and spills, there are a plethora of problems that oil riggers can encounter including severe weather storms (like hurricanes) and inexperience in the remote oceans depths. Oilrigs are being used even deeper in the ocean creating new environmental and engineering problems. Dr. Joseph A. Pratt of the University of Houston, highlights the problems riggers encountered when drilling for oil in the Canadian sector of the Beaufort Sea; conditions were ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

He not only acknowledges the races of these children but how poor the school system is. The use of parallelism in this helps create a stronger argument because he shows he s not oblivious to the variety of cultures in America which feeds into the belief that America is home of the free and accepts anyone regardless of race, gender, and religious beliefs. Not only does he use parallelism, he also uses a hyperbole by exaggerating the fact that students futures are being stolen from them with poor education. This is a hyperbole because the public schooling system isn t actually stealing the futures of these children, but he uses this rhetorical strategy to amplify the emotion and relevance of the issues with the public school system. Improving service quality to meet customers standards is an ongoing part of doing business. In this way, customers drive the market and the organization. At the same time that organizations act to attract and satisfy customers, the customers themselves exercise ultimate influence. Their satisfaction depends on both their expectations and their treatment. Through their choices, customers decide which organizations survive and thrive, determine what goods and services are available, and shape how they are provided. In addition to using their purchasing power, informed consumers can shape the marketplace by communicating their preferences and standards to organizations that are poised to listen and respond. Contents of This Paper For both service providers and consumers, making customer satisfaction a priority involves a fundamental shift in thinking, organizing and acting. The customer satisfaction framework proposed in this paper explores the potential of a customer satisfaction orientation as a means for improving the goods and services, including those provided by the public sector, available to residents of tough neighborhoods. The Symptoms Of Taking Rap Music Ajay Nadhavajhala Mr. Shimazaki Am Lit P.3 April 9, 2015 The Symptoms of Taking Rap Music Music is one of the greatest ways of expressing one s personal feelings and experiences through the use of story telling. One of the most popular genres of music is rap or also known as hip hop. Hip hop music has a profound effect, both positive and negative on many of today s youth which transforms and evolves American culture and society. What started it all was the origin of gangsta rap , which was popularized by gangster rappers such as Tupac Shakur, Notorious BIG, Ma$e, Snoop Dogg, and Scarface. These were all rappers who influenced American culture and made the genre of rap and hip hop more mainstream which captivated many listeners not only on a local level, but on an international level. However, some of the lyrics that were stated were not only meaningful, but sometimes controversial in the eye of the general public. Nonetheless, hip hop music has always had an influence on many generations and their shaping of what we know today of the modern American society and culture. Early 90 s rap music had a negative influence on American society due to the vulgar acts and explicit language that was used to describe stories and other elements of rap. In the late 1980 s and early 1990 s, hip hop only had one tag to itself gangster rap. Gangster rap was rap music that described the life of a gangster and a criminal who would have done things such as murder or do drugs. In one ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 45. Private Property In John Locke s Second Treatise Of Society Society can be structured in many ways. A good society requires mutual consent amongst its members, and private property is at the root of earning this consent. In John Locke s Second Treatise of Government, private property defines man as an individual, forces him into a society, and is his instrument in achieving justice. It explains how man goes from existing in a state of nature to participation in a social contract. Aristotle s Politics is concerned with how private propertyis closely connected to the virtue of a city and the pursuit of a good life. Thomas More s Utopiasatirizes the ideal city because it completely abolishes private property. The author argues that this is possible in a far fetched city, but it cannot bring order to a city that is already established. From these three works, it is evident that private property is essential to the proper organization of a city because it allows for individuality and development of the virtues. It is important that labor be involved in the claiming of private property. Locke believes the earth is common property until a person exerts his or her activity on it (18 20). It eliminates any doubt or quarreling over who has a right to what property (Locke 27). Since it is labor indeed that puts the difference of value on everything, people are set apart by the amount of unique effort they exert to obtain their property. This proves man is perfectly his own and does not belong in common to others (Locke 29). Rather than ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Laws are defined simply as the command of a superior to an inferior. In Austin s words : Law is the aggregate of rules set by men as politically superior, or sovereign, to men as political subject . Only a determinate person or body of persons can be sovereign: It means that sovereignty cannot belong to the general will, as Rousseau said, or to the people or to the public opinion, as it is said by the advocates of popular sovereignty, or to any superhuman being as is the Islamic view. It belongs to a determinate human superior, i.e., a definite person or body of persons. 2. The power of the sovereign is legally unlimited or absolute, because the laws which he makes are obeyed by all, while he himself does not obey any law. Hence there can be no limit to his power. He makes his own limits. Legally speaking the sovereign is all mighty. Sovereignty is indivisible: If sovereignty is divided by law between two or more persons or bodies of persons, then one of the two things would happen. Either one of them will limit the authority of the other, and thus become the real sovereign, or any other person in a body of MONIST AND PLURALIST THEORIES OF SOVEREIGNTY. Person who has legally limited the authority of the others would become the real sovereign. It means, therefore, that sovereignty may be formally distributed, but cannot be really divided. This is the case in a federal State. 3. State is such a society which is organized by rule and obedience. A law is a command calling for obedience. Were we to give rise to the classical connotations engineering carries of cold and pure problem solving uninterested in issues of the humanities indeed it would betray the magnitude of our existence as a species. It is this very facet that has brought us to the magnificence this day. • 51. Discussion Of The Synthesis Of Negatively Charged Anions Lab #1 1)This compound is ionic because it did not melt when it was heated. Consequently, this indicates that the compound must have an extremely high melting point, which is one of the characteristics of ionic compounds due to the highly strong electrostatic force of attraction between positively charged cations and negatively charged anions (that is, these forces of attraction are so strong that it requires a large quantity of energy in order for the bonds to be broken). Furthermore, this compound was highly soluble in water, which is another property of ionic compounds, as when they dissolve, the ions dissociate and attach themselves to the polar ends of water molecules (cations are attracted to the localized negative poles of the oxygen atoms; anions are attracted to the localized positive poles of the hydrogen atoms). Finally, the last indicator that the compound is ionic is that the compound was an electrolyte; that is, the compound was able to conduct electricity due to the ions present within the solution, which move towards the oppositely ... Consequently, the compound was unable to conduct electricity, as the compound was insoluble and did not contain ions, and it was unable to dissolve and form dipole dipole interactions with the polar water molecules. Thus, this indicates that the compound must be non polar, as the only forces of attraction between molecules are the London dispersion forces, as the compound either only contains non covalent bonds and/or is symmetrical. This assumption can be corroborated due to the low melting point of the compound and subsequently, the very weak intermolecular ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
