The bible is full of landscapes and scenery, each as important to the story as the characters. What can these landscapes tell us about our lives and what we need to do to seek God in the place we are?
Shalom Saints,
It is in this time of Purim that we are reminded again of the power of putting on the armour of God.
Having situations and calamities still happening in our lives, we are still struggling with the very basic in our lives, to obtain peace and His promise.
Paul focused the believer on spiritual warfare, who we are wrestling with...
Ephesians 6:12 NKJV
For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but
...against principalities,
...against powers,
...against the rulers of the darkness of this age,
...against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.
The believer will not stand a chance if he does not put on the FULL armour of God. A partial armour also makes the believer vulnerable.
Let's learn how the enemy attack believers and how the armour of God protect us. Also to claim this privilege of protection that God has given unto each one of us.
Ephesians 6:13 NKJV
Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
Earthquake in Turkey, flood in Johor, snow in Hollywood...you can name each disaster that may seemed a distance to us physically. One disaster that is closest to ourselves is when it happen to our family.
Come and join us and learn how we can put on this armor corporately and stand firm on His protection and promise.
As you know who we are, a prayer altar. Come and join us who can pray for you behind your back.

In Jude 17-23 Jude shifts from piling up examples of false teachers from the Old Testament to a series of practical exhortations that flow from apostolic instruction. He preserves for us what may well have been part of the apostolic catechism for the first generation of Christ-followers. In these instructions Jude exhorts the believer to deal with 3 different groups of people: scoffers who are "devoid of the Spirit", believers who have come under the influence of scoffers and believers who are so entrenched in false teaching that they need rescue and pose some real spiritual risk for the rescuer. In all of this Jude emphasizes Jesus' call to rescue straying sheep, leaving the 99 safely behind and pursuing the 1.

Slide 2: Introduction to Mindfulness
Mindfulness, defined as the conscious, non-judgmental observation of the present moment, has deep roots in Buddhist meditation practice but has gained significant popularity in the Western world in recent years. In today's society, filled with distractions and constant stimuli, mindfulness offers a valuable tool for regaining inner peace and reconnecting with our true selves. By cultivating mindfulness, we can develop a heightened awareness of our thoughts, feelings, and surroundings, leading to a greater sense of clarity and presence in our daily lives.
Slide 3: Benefits of Mindfulness for Mental Well-being
Practicing mindfulness can help reduce stress and anxiety levels, improving overall quality of life.
Mindfulness increases awareness of our emotions and teaches us to manage them better, leading to improved mood.
Regular mindfulness practice can improve our ability to concentrate and focus our attention on the present moment.
Slide 4: Benefits of Mindfulness for Physical Health

“Come, thou Fount of every blessing,”
◦“Come, thou Fount of every
blessing,”
◦Robert Robinson in 1758,
◦22 years old
◦was the first hymn in A Collection of
Hymns for the use of the Church of
Christ, Meeting in Angel-Alley,
Whitechappel . . . (1759).
4. ◦Come, Thou Fount of every blessing
◦Tune my heart to sing Thy grace
◦Streams of mercy, never ceasing
◦Call for songs of loudest praise
◦Teach me some melodious sonnet

5. Robert Robinson’s fate
◦Robert was born on Sept. 27, 1735, to Mary Wilkin
and Michael Robinson
◦A young boy is forced to grow up without a loving
father. Dad passed away eight years old.
◦Maternal grandfather, Robert Wilkin, a wealthy
man, disinherited his grandson and provided an
inheritance for him of only ten shillings and
sixpence.
6. ◦ A barber
◦ Hardship being the breadwinner for his widowed mother and himself.
◦ His formal education was limited. However, his knowledge was
and extensive. There was an adult-like quality deeply ingrained in him,
and it allowed him to accept the responsibilities of adulthood, even as a
teenager.
◦ Mr. Whitfield: “Oh, my hearers! the wrath to come! the wrath to
come!” He was wondrously converted and became a minister of the
gospel; first, in a Baptist church, then in a Methodist church, and
in other denominations.
◦ In one location his congregation grew to 1,000 in attendance.

◦ Oh, that day when freed from sinning
◦ I shall see Thy lovely face
◦ Clothed then in the blood washed linen
◦ How I'll sing Thy wondrous grace
◦ Come, my Lord, no longer tarry
◦ Take my ransomed soul away
◦ Send Thine angels now to carry
◦ Me to realms of endless day
10. Original language maintained
◦ biblical allusions appears in stanza two: “Here I raise mine
Ebenezer/ hither by thy help I’m come.” The Hymnal Revision
Committee for the 1989 United Methodist Hymnal received
requests to alter this stanza by omitting the term “Ebenezer,”
which means “Stone of Help,” a reference to
◦ 1 Samuel 7:12: “Then Samuel took a stone and set it up
between Mizpah and Jeshanah, and named it Ebenezer; for
he said, ‘Thus far the Lord has helped us.’” But not finding a
suitable substitute, the Committee chose to maintain the
original language.
11. ◦Oh, to grace how great a debtor
◦Daily I'm constrained to be
◦Let that goodness like a fetter
◦Bind my wandering heart to Thee
◦Prone to wander, Lord, I feel it
◦Prone to leave the God I love

◦Seal it for Thy courts above
12. ◦As she finished singing the young woman asked
Roberts:
◦His startling reply was: “Madam, I am the
unhappy man who wrote that hymn many years
ago; and, I would give a thousand worlds, if I
them, if I could feel now as I felt then.”
13. Prone to wander, Lord, I feel it
Prone to leave the God I love

18. Battle between the Philistine & Israel
◦ In 1 Samuel 2:24, we are told, “[n]ay, my sons; for it is no good report that I hear: ye
make the Lord’s people to transgress.” The elders of Israel fetched the Ark of the
Covenant within the camp, it would provide them with the protection of the Lord in
battle.
◦ After great defeat, the Ark of the Covenant was taken by the Philistines from Ebenezer
to Ashdod.
◦ Priests Hophni and Phinehas were slain. Eli died (1 Samuel 2:34, Prophecy fulfilled.
◦ The Philistines remembered, “these are the gods that smote the Egyptians with all the
plagues in the wilderness” (1 Samuel 4:8).
◦ Nevertheless, the Philistines fought, and Israel suffered
great loss.
Why?
19. God message on 110 anniversary: “this is
all not important”
In 1 Samuel 7:3, Samuel addressed all of Israel and advised them,
“if ye do return unto the Lord with all your hearts, then put away

hearts unto the Lord, and serve him only: and he will deliver you
out of the hand of the Philistines.”
20. Key to Move of God
◦Israel returned to serve the Lord only.
◦1 Samuel 7:4. Samuel then gathered all Israel to
Mizeph for prayer, which included both fasting and
repentance.
◦Samuel offered a lamb as a burnt offering and then
cried out unto the Lord for Israel.
◦The Lord heard his prayers.

◦25 “Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life,
what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your
body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and
the body more than clothing? 26 Look at the birds of the
air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns;
yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of
more value than they? 27 Which of you by worrying can
add one cubit to his stature?
46. Matthew 6:25-34
◦28 “So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the
lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor
spin; 29 and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all
his glory was not arrayed like one of these. 30 Now if
God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is,
and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not
much more clothe you, O you of little faith?
47. Matthew 6:25-34
◦31 “Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or
‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For after
all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly
Father knows that you need all these things. 33 But seek
first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and
all these things shall be added to you. 34 Therefore do
not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry
about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own
trouble.

Mark 7:31-37 The Word of God
31 Again, departing from the region of Tyre and Sidon, He came through the
midst of the region of Decapolis to the Sea of Galilee. 32 Then they brought to
Him one who was deaf and had an impediment in his speech, and they
Him to put His hand on him. 33 And He took him aside from the multitude,
put His fingers in his ears, and He spat and touched his
tongue. 34 Then, looking up to heaven, He sighed, and said to
him, “Ephphatha,” that is, “Be opened.”
35 Immediately his ears were opened, and the impediment of his tongue was
loosed, and he spoke plainly. 36 Then He commanded them that they should
no one; but the more He commanded them, the more widely they
proclaimed it. 37 And they were astonished beyond measure, saying, “He has
done all things well. He makes both the deaf to hear and the
mute to speak.”
51. Ephesians 2:14-18 (NKJV)
◦ 14 For He Himself is our peace, who has made both one, and has
broken down the middle wall of separation, 15 having abolished
in His flesh the enmity, that is, the law of
commandments contained in ordinances, so as to create in
Himself one new man from the two, thus making peace, 16 and
that He might reconcile them both to God in one body through
the cross, thereby putting to death the enmity. 17 And He came
and preached peace to you who were afar off and to those who
were near. 18 For through Him we both have access by ONE Spirit
to the Father.

The lyrics reference 1 Samuel 7:12, which records that the prophet Samuel “took a stone, and set it between Mizpeh and Shen, and called the name of it Ebenezer, saying, Hitherto hath the Lord helped us.” The word Ebenezer, meaning stone of help, appears in the lyrics of hymnal versions.
We often find ourselves guilty of the reliance of superstition, formality, or the worship of external symbols in times of spiritual stagnancy, turmoil, or discontent. We may justify and reason our actions under the pretext of “this is just the way we’ve always done things.”
But the stone of Ebenezer should signify to us that trusting in anything or anyone short of Christ is a precursor to failure. In defeat or failure, we must repent from misplaced trust and from leaving Christ out of the equation. If we recognize our misplaced trust and reverse course, He is there faithful to forgive, grant us mercy, and provide his guidance and protection.
