This document summarizes a 14-day fast and contemplative prayer event hosted by ELSPA from March 22 to April 3, 2021 to prepare hearts for Passover and Easter. Some key details include:
- Participants are invited to skip meals as led by the Spirit and participate in daily prayer from 5-7:14am (or until 10am)
- The focus is on centering prayer and being present with God, allowing the Holy Spirit to guide the next steps
- The vision is to nurture inner transformation through contemplative practices exemplified in Wesley's means of grace
- When practiced faithfully, the contemplative practices can lead to a deep connection with God and compassion for others
The Spiritual Awakening experienced by John Wesley on May 24, 1738 transformed his life and is at the core of the United Methodist theology. The experience, however, is not a one of a kind miracle known only to saints and cloistered monks, but is available to all who avail themselves of God's grace.

Man has three parts - body, soul and spirit. Our spirit enables us to contact God who is Spirit and bring us into a union with God. The spirit also makes it possible for us to be built into the corporate dwelling place of God. The three parts of man parallel the design of Temple and the three stages of the journey of Israel. The presentation shows how the Scriptures reveal this truth and its fulfillment in Christ.
Jesus is our decoder pin. He is the interpretation of scriptures, the explanation of the Father, and our example for life. You may believe in Him, but how well do you believe Him?

Fellowship is one of those buzz Christian words. Churches have
fellowship halls, fellowship meetings, and times of fellowship. But what
do we mean?
The Greek word is koinonia, which translates as partnership. The origin
of the word is koinonos, which means partner, sharer, and companion. In
short, it is a shared community that involves deep, close-knit
participation among its people. The picture then is not of a surface-level,
friendly fellowship but of a radical and almost intimate unity. And this is
the consistent teaching of the New Testament. The first occurrence of
koinonia in the Bible comes in Acts 2:42. The newly baptized believers
“devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship
(koinonia), to the breaking of bread and to prayer.” Luke comments that
they, “had everything in common” as they sold property to give to
anyone in need, gathered regularly in the temple courts, and ate joyfully
in their homes (Acts 2:43-47). This is far more than formal nominal
Christianity. This is the real deal. And it’s attractive because it’s so real. God has saved us to belong to his new family, and the mark of true
belonging is an active love which sacrificially serves.

May the novena in preparation for the feast of Pentecost renew our thirst to live every moment in the Holy Spirit, to let him enter into all the interior spaces of our heart, so that it may live and reign there with the Father and the Son, for our greater happiness and the greater glory of God.
Topic: Fellowship for Wednesday Night Auditorium Class; February 25, 2015M. Monte Tatom
This presentation is for the Wednesday Night Auditorium Class at the Henderson church of Christ in Henderson, TN. The study is based on the book by Jack P. Lewis: "Basic Beliefs"
Shalom Saints,
It is in this time of Purim that we are reminded again of the power of putting on the armour of God.
Having situations and calamities still happening in our lives, we are still struggling with the very basic in our lives, to obtain peace and His promise.
Paul focused the believer on spiritual warfare, who we are wrestling with...
Ephesians 6:12 NKJV
For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but
...against principalities,
...against powers,
...against the rulers of the darkness of this age,
...against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.
The believer will not stand a chance if he does not put on the FULL armour of God. A partial armour also makes the believer vulnerable.
Let's learn how the enemy attack believers and how the armour of God protect us. Also to claim this privilege of protection that God has given unto each one of us.
Ephesians 6:13 NKJV
Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
Earthquake in Turkey, flood in Johor, snow in Hollywood...you can name each disaster that may seemed a distance to us physically. One disaster that is closest to ourselves is when it happen to our family.
Come and join us and learn how we can put on this armor corporately and stand firm on His protection and promise.
As you know who we are, a prayer altar. Come and join us who can pray for you behind your back.

Homily: The Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity Sunday 2024.docxJames Knipper
Countless volumes have been written trying to explain the mystery of three persons in one true God, leaving us to resort to metaphors such as the three-leaf clover to try to comprehend the Divinity. Many of us grew up with the quintessential pyramidal Trinity structure of God at the top and Son and Spirit in opposite corners. But what if we looked at this ‘mystery’ from a different perspective? What if we shifted our language of God as a being towards the concept of God as love? What if we focused more on the relationship within the Trinity versus the persons of the Trinity? What if stopped looking at God as a noun…and instead considered God as a verb? Check it out…

In Jude 17-23 Jude shifts from piling up examples of false teachers from the Old Testament to a series of practical exhortations that flow from apostolic instruction. He preserves for us what may well have been part of the apostolic catechism for the first generation of Christ-followers. In these instructions Jude exhorts the believer to deal with 3 different groups of people: scoffers who are "devoid of the Spirit", believers who have come under the influence of scoffers and believers who are so entrenched in false teaching that they need rescue and pose some real spiritual risk for the rescuer. In all of this Jude emphasizes Jesus' call to rescue straying sheep, leaving the 99 safely behind and pursuing the 1.
The Book of Joshua is the sixth book in the Hebrew Bible and the Old Testament, and is the first book of the Deuteronomistic history, the story of Israel from the conquest of Canaan to the Babylonian exile.
