Maisarah Binti Mohamed Bazin graduated from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia in 2011 with a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical-Material Engineering and a CPA of 3.62/4.00. She was awarded Dean's List recognition in four semesters for her academic performance. For her PhD, she plans to develop a composite membrane for industrial wastewater treatment using an extrusion process to produce a tubular membrane, which will be characterized and tested for filtration effectiveness.

Connecting rod as the key parts of the engine, its manufacturing quality directly affect the engine
performance and reliability[1]. Compared with the traditional manufacturing process, the modern manufacturing
process of the big end of the connecting rod is the fracture splitting process. Not only the quality of the
manufacturing has been improved, the cost has been reduced, the efficiency is improved, the technology has
been improved, and it can ensure the precise positioning and assembly between the two, eliminate the relative
motion, improve the NVH performance of the engine, meanwhile, improve the overall strength of the
connecting rod. This paper focuses on the problem of Separated Surface in the fracture splitting process, using
finite element software to simulate the fracture splitting process parameters to find the best fracture splitting
force to reduce and avoid the occurrence of the problem of Separated Surface.
PRIMARY PROCESS/MATERIAL SELECTION

Under the leadership of the Kyoto agreements on reducing emissions of greenhouse gases, the automotive sector was forced to review its methods and production technologies in order to meet the new environmental standards. In fuel consumption reduction is an immediate way to reduce the emission of polluting gases. In this paper, the study of the formability of sheet submitted to the hydroforming process is proposed. The numerical results are given to validate the proposed approach. To show the influence of uncertainties in the study process, we take some characteristics of the material as random and the probabilistic approach is done. The finding results are showing the effectiveness of the proposed approach.

Empirical models were developed using design of experiments by Taguchi L9 Orthogonal Array and the adequacy of the developed model is tested with ANOVA.

This document summarizes an experimental study that investigated the mechanical properties of block masonry units manufactured from six different types of recycled materials as coarse aggregates, compared to units made with natural aggregates. Probabilistic approach to study the hydroformed sheet
Under the leadership of the Kyoto agreements on reducing emissions of greenhouse gases, the automotive sector was forced to review its methods and production technologies in order to meet the new environmental standards. In fuel consumption reduction is an immediate way to reduce the emission of polluting gases. In this paper, the study of the formability of sheet submitted to the hydroforming process is proposed. The numerical results are given to validate the proposed approach. To show the influence of uncertainties in the study process, we take some characteristics of the material as random and the probabilistic approach is done. The finding results are showing the effectiveness of the proposed approach.

Cylindrical grinding is one of the most important metal cutting processes used extensively in the Metal finishing operations. Metal removal rate and surface finish are the important output responses in the production with respect to quantity and quality respectively. The objective of this paper is to arrive at the optimal grinding conditions that will maximize metal removal rate when grinding IS 319 brass. Empirical models were developed using design of experiments by Taguchi L9 Orthogonal Array and the adequacy of the developed model is tested with ANOVA.

The application of nanotechnology in concrete adds new content to efforts to improve its performance. Due to the very small size of nanomaterials, the properties of concrete can be influenced by changing the microstructure. The study involved the use of 215 nm nano silica to increase the compressive strength of concrete. Experimental studies were performed at 0.4 , 0.7 and 1 of BC. These tests have greatly improved the strength of the early pressure and the overall pressure strength of the concrete. As the percentage of nano silica increases, an increase in strength is observed. Concrete is the material of present and future. Its widespread use in structures, from buildings to factories, bridges and airports, makes it one of the most searched materials in the 21st century. Due to rapid population explosion and the rise of technology to meet these needs, there is an urgent need to improve the strength and durability of concrete. Among the various materials used in concrete production, cement plays an important role due to its size and adhesive properties. Therefore, for the production of improved concrete, the cement humidification mechanism should be studied properly and better alternatives should be proposed. Current research is the design of M40 M30 quality of concrete. The mixtures developed to obtain more rheological properties and solid properties were studied. In this study, the cement is replaced by silica smoke and nano silica materials. In addition, it is planned to determine the number of predictions of cubes in the program. The current design of the probe is the strength of M40 and M30 quality of concrete. This thesis explore the standard optimization ratio for silica and fume to get the best compressive strength. An Investigation on Processing and Properties of Recycle Aggregate Concrete
This document is a thesis submitted by two students, Mohammad Belayet Hossain and Mohammed Alauddin, to the Department of Civil Engineering at Southern University Bangladesh in partial fulfillment of their Bachelor of Science degrees. The thesis investigates the processing and properties of recycled aggregate concrete. Laboratory experiments were conducted to test the compressive strength of concrete mixtures containing various percentages of recycled aggregates compared to fresh aggregates. 72 concrete cube specimens were tested at different curing periods up to 32 days. The results showed that concrete containing recycled aggregates achieved 65-84% of the target compressive strength of fresh aggregate concrete.

Grinding wheels are made of natural or synthetic abrasive minerals bonded together in a matrix to form a wheel. For manufacturers, grinding wheels provide an efficient way to shape and finish metals and other materials. Grinding wheels are the only way to create parts with precision dimensions and high-quality surface finishes. At this time, grinding wheels are used in almost every industry. Manufacturing of a grinding wheel consist of mixing abrasive grains, binders and bonding materials. Three important components, abrasive grains with binders and bonding materials, make up any grinding wheel. The, additives are mixed to create a wheel with the properties necessary to shape a particular material in the manner desired. Abrasive grains include the central part of any grinding wheel, and the toughness and friability of the grinding materials will significantly affect the behavior of a given wheel. In the next step the ingredient mix is poured into the mold and compressed by a hydraulic press. Most grinding wheels are manufactured by the compression method, in which a mixture of components is pressed into shape at room temperature. The wheel is then fired at 200 0C-1260 0C depending upon the type of the bond. The purposes of the firing are to melt the binder around the abrasives and to convert it to a form that will resist the heat and solvents encountered during grinding. Variety of furnaces is used to fire grinding wheels. After firing, wheels are moved to a finishing area, where holes are reamed to the specified size and the wheel circumference is made concentric with the center. Some work may be necessary to correct thickness or parallelism of wheel sides, or to make a special contour on the side or circumference of the wheel. Sometimes balancing of large wheels is necessary to reduce the vibration that will be generated when the wheel is spun on a grinding machine.

Removing Uninteresting Bytes in Software Fuzzing
Imagine a world where software fuzzing, the process of mutating bytes in test seeds to uncover hidden and erroneous program behaviors, becomes faster and more effective. A lot depends on the initial seeds, which can significantly dictate the trajectory of a fuzzing campaign, particularly in terms of how long it takes to uncover interesting behaviour in your code. We introduce DIAR, a technique designed to speedup fuzzing campaigns by pinpointing and eliminating those uninteresting bytes in the seeds. Picture this: instead of wasting valuable resources on meaningless mutations in large, bloated seeds, DIAR removes the unnecessary bytes, streamlining the entire process.
In this work, we equipped AFL, a popular fuzzer, with DIAR and examined two critical Linux libraries -- Libxml's xmllint, a tool for parsing xml documents, and Binutil's readelf, an essential debugging and security analysis command-line tool used to display detailed information about ELF (Executable and Linkable Format). Our preliminary results show that AFL+DIAR does not only discover new paths more quickly but also achieves higher coverage overall. This work thus showcases how starting with lean and optimized seeds can lead to faster, more comprehensive fuzzing campaigns -- and DIAR helps you find such seeds.

- 1. My name is Maisarah Binti Mohamed Bazin. I am 23 years old. I was graduated from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (2011) with second class (upper division) in Bachelor Degree of Engineering (Mechanical-Material) with CPA 3.62/4.00. I took several courses that related to materials engineering such as Advanced Materials, Materials Properties, Corrosion and Surface Protection, Physical Metallurgy and etc. I had been awarded as a Dean’s List Recipient that presented at the faculty level in 4 semesters. The semesters were: Semester 3 (2008/2009), Semester 5 (2009/2010), Semester 6 (2009/2010) and Semester 7 (2010/2011). During the study, I was actively participated in many university’s activities. I used to be a committee member of Career Carnival 2011. I involved with activities such as Welcoming Dinner, Lunch Talk, Opening Ceremony and others. Besides, I was a basketball player of residential college in College Sport Competition. For internship program, I completed two months training at Atlas CSF Sdn. Bhd. The company involved in precision air conditioning for data center. I assisted engineers to do inspection on breakdown of precision air conditioning. I also joined site visits to estimate the number of precision air conditioning in order to be placed in required room. On top of that, I have learnt Stulz C7000-Service software to analyze the precision air conditioning system. I managed to complete undergraduate project titled Analysis on pinion shaft of 1 ton hoist system supervised by NorhishamAbd. Hamid.This project involved reverse engineering application. I need to fabricate a pinion shaft based on the specification of the existing pinion shaft. First of all, I need to identify the specification by myself through analysis. Several analyses had been done such as non-destructive testing, mechanical testing and microstructural and composition analysis. Non- destructive testing is done to identify surface defects that may present at the pinion surface. The method use for this testing is magnetic particle inspection and
- 2. liquid particle inspection. After that, the hardness testing is done used Vicker’s Hardness to determine the hardness of shaft. This is followed with microstructural and composition analysis. Based on the material composition and hardness data, I can find the suitable material used for pinion shaft. On the other hand, the result from hardness testing and microstructural analysis has been used to determine the process involves in fabrication of the pinion shaft such as the heat treatment. After all the important information had been gathering, the shaft had been fabricated and it can function very well. I got an offer from my university to do fast track program for PhD in September 2011. For my PhD program, I am interested to do a research on membrane. My title for the project is ‘Development of composite membrane for industrial waste water treatment’. To develop the membrane, extrusion method will be used because is suitable to produce tubular geometry. The objective of this project is to fabricate the alumina composite by using extrusion process. The membrane will be characterized and the mechanical properties will be determined. The composite membrane then will be design and testing for waste water treatment. For fabrication, the membrane will be prepared by milling precise amounts of raw materials such as alumina powder and small amounts of organic binders and solvents into homogeneous slurry. Then, extrusion process will be carried out through the opening of a die to form tabular membrane. The green compact formed then will be dried at less than 100°C to eliminate water. Sintering will be carried out at temperature 1000-1200°C by using a high temperature sintering furnace. After fabrication, the surface membrane will be examined by using BET, surface are and pore size distribution. Mechanical properties will be determined by Vickers Hardness testing and 4-point bending strength. Then, the composite membrane will be designed with support and filtration equipment. Optimum operating parameter such as cross flow, velocities and others will be determined. Testing the composite membrane system will be suitable for the industrial wastewater treatment. It is expected that the development of a new route of alumina for a lab- scale membrane and commercial focuses for filtration and application areas for industrial wastewater treatment.I expect to produce at least three journal papers along the PhD studies.
